LD28 — You Only Get One

SANITY by acehk 2013-12-16T17:01:00

The green clouds are pretty much my last resort replacement for the original mechanics. Originally, you would have advanced to a new level of consciousness/reality by finding some kind of paradox through a puzzle or defeating some being(s).

The story is that you suddenly get this notion that your world is not real (the daughter getting sick) and then you begin to descend through different levels of reality until you awake in the real world and see what caused your daughter's illness and must save her by sealing her pod. I'll be the first to admit the gameplay is barely existent and doesn't really make much sense. I need to focus more on gameplay in upcoming jams as I always seem to get caught up in the looks and feels

One Look by colonelpanic 2013-12-16T16:41:00

I like the idea but would have preferred it if it let you finish the level and then maybe had a penalty at the end for how far/often you went out of bounds and passed or failed you based on that.

Minute Dreams by piotrszoka 2013-12-16T16:54:00

Really well polished. The level design and visuals are awesome and the gameplay feels really smooth. Only complaint would be the pacing can be slow when you mess up and the audio levels were maybe a little strong towards the music, but the music was solid so can't complain too much about that :)

Club Man by Lancelot Gao 2013-12-16T16:39:00

Really cool ideas and visuals but like other said, it could be a little faster paced.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

PET RUN/STOP by Ludonaut 2014-04-29T01:31:00

Yesss. This kind of game is perfect for jams. Fun, fast paced game that anyone can play first try, but there definitely a good skill curve.

City Beneath the Surface by SmilingCat 2014-04-29T01:26:00

Really like the atmosphere, very original. Gameplay felt a little slow. I didn't feel motivated to swim around aimlessly looking for rings.

Volcano Dave by acehk 2014-04-28T03:46:00

It is extremely difficult. I was low on time so I knew I wouldn't be able to make a long game with lots of levels, so I went for 1 really tough level. You know what they say: Difficulty over Quantity. Anyway, it is beatable. I managed to beat it after about 25 failed attempts.

Volcano Dave by acehk 2014-04-29T01:47:00

@jayemjee: agree on all the criticisms. I had very little time to actual test the game. I spent most of Saturday night trying to get swinging rope physics to work, then gave up and swapped to jetpack on Sunday.

Volcano Dave by acehk 2014-05-02T01:32:00

@bentog - Woo Volcanoes! I wish I had more time to make multiple levels or a longer level with a difficulty curve. As far as friction goes, I don't even know how, but there is 0 sliding in Unity, yet the web player, the ground feels a lot more slippery. No idea why tbh D:

Sewer Rat Racer by Robber 2014-04-29T03:54:00

Really cool use of the theme combined with polished visuals. The audio was pretty grating. Maybe it was bugged for me, but it was repeating the same little loop over and over. Still, really solid game overall.

Volcarnosaur by pierce 2014-04-30T00:47:00

Avoiding death by volcano by using a jetpack is my favorite genre! We're like twins

The Gathering by oatsbarley 2014-04-29T00:59:00

Admittedly, the gameplay isn't really my style, but I love the art. Amazing how pretty it is considering the time constraints, and the audio definitely helps with the overall tone!

Beneath The Surface In The Sky by tomhunt 2014-04-29T03:50:00

Unique and fun once I got used to the controls. I got all the rings :D. The ones outside the jetstream were annoyingly tough

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Curmudgeon: The Quest For Spicy Booty by drstik 2014-08-25T02:37:00

Wow, awesome visuals and atmosphere. Would have been nice if there was a little more interaction/choices... I felt like RNG slayed my party XD. But yeah, great job on the visuals, especially the UI.

Flicker by PapaCheech 2014-08-25T02:40:00

I love the music and audio! It really tied together the overall mood. Great job

Gravitate by acehk 2014-08-29T23:49:00

Hmm. I'm on 8.1 + Chrome, and that's the only OS/Browser combo I tested on. Sometimes I have to swap tabs after a unity game loads to get it to properly detect input.

Philip the Fox by Xenolupus 2014-08-25T02:58:00

Art, awesome. Music, great. Camera, dear god.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Shepard (unfinished) by acehk 2014-12-12T03:02:00

Thanks for the encouraging feedback. The planned goal for the game was something loosely comparable to Plants vs Zombies, where Wool would replace sun as the currency. I wasn't decided on what the player would be able to buy (different sheep breeds, sheep dogs/pigs, upgrades, etc). I was planning on the enemies being wolves and poachers. I'm not sure if I'll stick to this game design though.
