Congrats on your first Ludum Dare!!
Avoiding pigs is the name of the game and I guess I should have expected the game to be exactly that. The first time I launched the game I died almost instantly since there was no menu screen or prompt to start the game, always include something like this.
The second time I started running immediately and managed to last pretty much as long as I wanted, I ran in a circle and all the pigs chase the same way so even though more were introduced they all eventually combined into one super-pig chasing me.
The collision on the tree, as mentioned before, needs fixing. You also should probably add hit areas to the pigs/player since it seems like only a very small bit will actually register a collision and this makes pigs really easy to avoid.
I know the idea of making the pig movement different than just "home in on player" might seem unintuitive, but adding a bit more complexity to the paths will make the game a million times more difficult and by the same token make it more fun to play.
The last bit of advice I'd like to give is to add a current score indication to the game screen. Giving a player a knowable incentive to keep playing, like a score meter, will make them want to keep going. As it is they are just running for seemingly no reason and only when they lose do they find out that they receive a score, and even then it's not tied to any particular action. They just have to assume, like I did, that it's tied to duration of life.
I hope these comments help! Good luck to you :D
