This is really neat! It could use some balancing to make it more challenging and stop players spamming aliens, but this is a really solid game with a really solid mechanic! nice one.
Holy cow that's a rad spaceship
I sense a winner here
I needed this game in my life.
My favorite entry so far. I would have liked some upgrades to firepower and running speed, so hat I was more powerful, not more efficient.
that's okay, i didn't need any sleep after making games for 48 hours anyway.
This game is thematic, cinematic and incredible
The masterpiece superman 64's developers were trying to create.
Proper good entry. You and your team should be very proud.
I am very glad this game exists, and I hope that you don't change one typo, or one misplaced pixel. Because it's not the end product that has value, it's the piece of your soul that went into it.
Be very proud of your first Ludum Dare, I'm looking forward to playing your future stuff.
Congratulations on not only crafting a game in 48 hours, but crafting a quality one. Very few ludum dare entries tackle serious issues, and a few that do do so poorly. this is not the case with 'Overwhelmed'. When I play your game, it feels just like it felt in the weakest point of my life, when I too saw people as angry red shadows harboring angry thoughts about me, and the only support I got was being told not to be selfish.
Stellar Job.
If I were more educated on animal rights, I'd have some serious concerns about this game.
Error message: "The program can't start because "libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
Innovative entry.
I'm intrigued by how this works with the phone. is there a video somewhere.
This is a really good looking game with a solid and genuinely fun mechanic. Can't imagine what it would be like with combat (eat propeller, octopus!)
ITS'S AN ANTARCTIC SHMUP
Um
I am actually awake now update:
+Upgrades now save properly between games (a true that should have been a false)
+Key presses now register a little better (HTML5's fault, not mine.
+Minor performance improvements on some machines
+Newgrounds and itch.io links added
*A windows download version may come in the future.
sorry about that jeferex, the 29/4 update must have broken the link. Not to worry, it works fine now.
Jumping over stuff is intentional, it gives an extra reason to get the grav and jump upgrades, and circumvents some otherwise unpassable level generations.
FUNNY. GORGEOUS. THOUGHTFUL. ENTERTAINING. GENUINELY CLEVER. 11/10.
Thoroughly well designed, elegant to look at and and all round smashing entry. You should be very proud.
This game is incredible. Maybe for the wrong reasons, but still.
And one hour you say? nice job.
New tile: Why is my owner sitting alone with a sad expression and a litre of booze?
Stunning graphics and a really cute theme. Too bad it's silent (though I am getting a bit tired of hearing 48hr improvised MIDI tracks so maybe that's for the best). Cute mchanics that go with the theme and all round a really solid entry. Feel Proud.
This is so pretty its making me angry. I wish there were six, seven or maybe eight stars to give you. I also think its a really neat compartmentalized emotional experience, like this triggers a response from me.
I LOVE this aesthetic. I'm a bit hungover to figure out any puzzles so I'll come back in a little bit and report back on gameplay, but for now I just want screenshots from this as my wallpaper.
aw don't be sad! It still looks adorable and finishing anything is a big win. I'm glad you submitted this, those ducks are to-die-for.
Dropbox 404
Best game title so far.
I am confused and delighted.
I love the art here. I'm gonna come back later and really pay attention to the text but right now top marks for presentation.
really satisfying jumps
plucky, slap-bangy sound effects (altough there arent many of them)
great use of the theme, its like playing in a transformer
colour scheme well-picked
I'm jealous of your background
Hot dog i like this concept + this sweet lighting. Not the style of game I'm usually into but I found myself engaged and having fun anyway so major kudos.
Woah. I'm....I'm clapping. THis is nice.
Top-tier game and a lovely in-depth game page. I really like the aesthetic you used and it stays consistent enough to prove its own artistic merit. I don't know. 'Good game sick graphics bro' there we are.

This is really pretty and like, super satisfying to play.
I am confused and delighted
This game is incredible, impressive, groundbreaking and previously-unheard-of.
A joy to play.
Art-gallery-standard visuals.
Bangin soundtrack.
I love murder mysteries (hell i made one) so this is sooooo my jam
I love the characters but your background is a bit busy.
You had me at Brake, gas, gas?!?
also: what is happening
this is a masterpiece
These are some top-notch sprites oh my god.
A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E
Delightful.
Extraordinary.
This has a nice style but I cant get behind the ms word fonts in the HUD. Otherwise v pretty.
I am hesitant to say how long I played this for.
You'll find me in the highscores as Jraap.
One day I will miss my kids' soccer game because i will be playing this game.
Hot damn
Woah.
I am in LOVE with the presentation. Bangin soundtrack, flawless visuals. Pat yourself on the back so frickin hard for this oh my god
Feels like I'm plucking a cosmic guitar.
The player has really fun-floaty movement!
Where's my mortein?

In what way did "Biased & Blazed: Beyond Belief Beyond Control We're Stoned as Shit and Ready To Roll HYPER DANK EDITION ALPHA+" change the landscape of digital entertainment?
I had a controller with me for my game, and I'm super gald to have played this a little.
This game is gorgeous.
Probably the best interpretation of the theme I've seen so far
neat and very readable art
This could be played on tiny screens at an art gallery, as a comment on our lives as seen through the fake lens of personal technology.
You made the love letter right? I recognised your style immediately. Amazing job this is super neat.
I scored 181
satisfying and messy game
great job on getting something this functional done in the timeframe.
minor suggestion: instead of a box that says 'HP' how about a little red cross? makes game more visually interesting and removes language barrier.
Can you list some controls on the game page? i managed to figure em out but its a quick step you can take to making sure everyone has fun. Nice job on the game
I...I don't-
like..
awesome job?
"Jesus is back, and he's not crucifuckin' around."
I..
huh?
I think your voting categories are the wrong way around?
I really like the color pallete here for some reason. great job on the game btw. but man, those pretty colors...
I love the colors here
I haven't seen a game like this before. Also: really frickin good job on this.
Great game. Lacking Zambonis and Tim Horton's but I'll allow it.
oh my god
oh my god this is incredible. unbelievable.
prettiest game and best mood yet.
I commend you for making a game that makes a point and has its eyes on real issues, and I've been following this since your first blog post because I was curious how you would execute this. I have some reservations. As stated above, this game focuses on the riots and not the months-long turmoil the people of Ferguson had been through. I understand this is a jam product with limited scope but I believe an over-simplification of real-life events is shown here, and you might have been safer with an ambiguous or completely fictional event.
I also think you should have censored the racial slurs in the tweets at the bottom but that's a matter of opinion and as a white person I'm not an authority on who can say what.
I'm just sharing some concerns here because I like the game, I think it's well-constructed, bug-free and an innovative concept. You are entitled to your art and your opinion and I'd be happy to chat on twitter about anything we disagree on or need to be more clear about.
I also think you helped simplify the issue by describing the real life events like this:
'FergusonTV is born of our thought about medias interpretation on Ferguson riots, which occurred in November and December 2014.'
no ...following the events of Mike Brown's murder
or ...after a grand jury ruled a cop who committed murder should go free.
You provide little context to the serious issue you're tackling and I think that's a real issue that you could easily fix with some more exposition in the game page.
Here's one guaranteed OUYA purchase. Working on getting housemate to play this w me, I'll report back.
This game is INCREDIBLE. I am BOPPING MY HEAD LIKE AN IDIOT
Best Time 02:30 and I dare you to even come close to that.
Incredible.
I played this 10 times maybe? i couldn't stop. i kept going again and again. I love every little screenshake and visual distortion and i love how you never leave the same screen, feels like the game is sneakily moving elements around in the darkness.
DODGE, DIP, DUCK, DIVE AND DIE
Nice little wave-based survival thing with a twist here, I really enjoyed firing off like 8 harpoons and then going to grab the whole lot to reel the monster in.
Some notes: - Disable the gammeaker studio splash screen if you want! It's in global game settings > windows - I got some belowe average performance palying on my computer, this might just be all the physics stuff going on (which is really fun and unique!) or maybe the room speed is just low? Maybe try setting it to 60 and see how that feels - Most often the monster actually heals himself because most of the humans are already over in the H square (from being healed previously), it would be a bit more of a challenge if they moved around further from that area. Doesn't detract from the funt hough, of which there is lots to be had here Great stuff! never seen anything quite like this before.
Nice little puzzle and retro-computer-troubleshooting simulator. The visuals and sound come together so well and its actually engaging to use your commands to flick things on and off, unlike some 'hacking' or typing-focused games. Impressive stuff here :)
WOW! Everything about this just jumps alive- the music, the wobbly-line levels, the bright colros of the speed zones and the wiggly movement of your bird...I had SO much fun playing this and I suspect I'm barely even close to finishing it? I wonder how it would feel with analog controls...part of the challenge definitely comes from the input method for steering and I'd hate to lose that though, reminds me of trackmania actually, but a lot brighter and more jazzy of course. I'm gonna show this to everyone. Great stuff
Absolutely love this, I am DREADFUL at these slider puzzles but i learned a thing or two about how they work through this haha, especially love the baby sprite and color choices throughout
Blown away in particular by your color choices and the scale of everything onscreen, really makes for some beautiful scenes
Great interpretation of the theme here, the mood you've put across with the art and audio and everything is fantastic. Much appreciated the visualisation of the enemy sight lines since I found it hard to judge if I was safe just on their animations alone
Here's me getting owned by a mine for the 5th time Untitled.png
@tygrak Thanks for playing! 'Charming' is all I hope for. There are about 3 questions, chosen at random, so I expect you'd see repeats :)
@rudenko Thanks! Controls were my focus, so much so that I forgot to add a second player or actual soccer match mode! Maybe one day.
@dooskington Aw that's a bummer! I tried to recreate this but couldn't see it broken, I have just uploaded a web version which will maybe work for you, thanks for letting me know!
Update: Have added a web platform version (it should detect supported browsers) and corrected 1 typo. In keeping with the competition rules there are no other major changes.
Love this gruesome concept, and every element of this game works to support it. Good stuff: - the scaling in bigger rooms works really great - VO from the guards and their pathfinding and everything is so choice, they feel real - Switching between the guys is really seamless and intuitive, you get the hang of it so easy because the Q guy is usually on the left anyway - peppering of story elements is really neat, totally going above and beyond
-Sometimes the stomach-guy has trouble getting pulled around corners, it makes me walk extra distance to try yanking him around and doesn't feel too great. - The squishy sounds are a nice detail but you hear the same ones a little too frequently and that can be a bit harsh on the ears.
Overall a very impressive entry though, huge props.
OOO i love this! Gonna send it to my sound-inclined friends. I wonder how growing the crystals would feel with analog controls, it feels like a real instrument when you get properly into it!
I love this! Lots of depth to uncover here once you realise the nodes have their own subtypes and upgradeables, its super fun to feel your little empire growing and burn through your resources going POP POP POP adding nodes everywhere
One note- I got stuck drawing a tendril out from this southern node, I could stuill build from otehr nodes but its like this guy was still in focus Untitled.png
WOW this entry makes my heart sing- Incredible presentation, charming atmosphere, great fun to fly around and get lost in it all. Really appreciated the addition of the compass at top of screen cause I sometimes get lost in these sorts of things, anyway-absolutely smashing game <3
A relaxing game about the aftermath of what looks like a very serious and frightening airplane crash- Strong points are the artstyle, the big in-your face flopping fish models, and idk, the whole v~i~b~e of it all with the music and pacing of the animations and everything. Great stuff here.
I LOVE MY SPECIAL BOY!!!
This is brilliant! Once you get the hang of this you can really see the depth- this is a puzzle game where the 'blank' blocks are actually a blessing, and can prop up your future work. I like what you did making the negative side always the same color, it becomes instinctual after a bit. Think I was able to safely get to level 5 after LOTS OF TRAINING trying to get good, as I am not very adept at these sorts of games. Also smashing music and art of course, really has a peppy vibe.
Super fun to scratch the records haha, also to SLAM the fader from one track to another, if the goal here was just to capture that DJ feeling, you nailed it. Tried to get a screenshot of the crowd loving my mix, butit turns out I am not very good at this and they did not love my mix. Whatever clowns, my music feels good to ME!!!
I really like the way the little guys heads bob around, a small thing but it has a lot of style. This sorta reminds me of the web game glory days with boxhead and those other zombie defense type things, the humor and art aren't my cup of tea but if you put it alongside the greats from that era...well it fits. (And at least makes a change in terms of jam game artstyles)- great job
My goodness this is pleasant. Especially when you pick up that you can modify your lines mid-run and don't have to set-and-forget the perfect course- Would have appreciated a 'clear all lines' button, though that is just because i spent so much time going for style points with loops and stuff. Love the mood too--- summer breeze...drops of morning dew...that cool S...
WOW! I love this entry. Great intro, bright presentation, quirky humor at the start there, then a lively little game that looks beautiful and is a LOT of fun. I spent a lot more time than i needed to keeping up with the music and watching everything happen hehe
This has such fun movement! I like the hefty BOOF sounds the big guy makes as you yank him around. I wonder how it would feel if you had a little air control mid-jump? Anyway - Very good
Can honestly say this is my favorite entry so far, this just has a comedy and kookiness to it that makes it very memorable long after youve finished actually playing it. Love the presentation and the way you focused on the fun of trashing stuff rather than 'challenge' or whatever. Love this game. Oink Oink.
I am the fleshy ball!!!!! BAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Despite this game begging me not to, I had fun playing this. I like the low time to kill and moody visual effect, its not something I can remember seeing before. I spent some time perfectly aligned on the left of screen shooting to the right so i could see mire dialog :P
Great concept- I think you've invented a new kind of football here, I can picture myself diving and sliding to play defense on the turtle team.
This game doe sa lot with a little! Audio is subtle but really well chosen, I also really like the presentation, from the little guy to the colors chosen to the viewing angle, sorta reminds me of a kookier 'TANKS!' in wii play, it has this toybox feel to it, hard to describe but very memorable.
SPOILERS! Untitled.png
Great presentation and interpretation of the theme, you show off a really unique style int his that breaks the rules of perspective and stuff in a really cool way. Great work on this wholesome entry
The lively voice acting is seriously impressive for the time constraints- and I like the 'combat' that involves melting the iceworld baddies, its great stuff.
Heads up that the UI in the bottom-left was cut off on my 1366x768 laptop screen, i could see the tops of some numbers moving around but had to guess the rest, in case thats something you need to fix up- it didnt stop me enjoying this delightful game in any case!
Amazing entry, super challenging for my tiny brain especially with the strict turn limits, but I definitely appreciate the care that has gone into each puzzle- the audio and presentation and everything really come together for a cool oceanic vibe as well, its quite relaxing! Great work here
Wow! I love flight games so this is my jam, super loved: - the feedback when you get a hit on an enemy - the mix of air and ground targets - this pretty big city you put together with a decent amount of stuff to look at - that big goofy king kong model. Great interpretation of the theme hehe
Died on wave 5 after trying to do an aerobatic trick, jokes on me
Cool colors and mood- the early stages of this feel like the GROW series of games, where you've gotta use a bit of trial and error to work out what order is best to do stuff in. I really like the way the guy has to physically travel to go get stuff done, it's almost humorous when you need him to get somewhere just a tiny bit quicker, and you could play around with that combined with the level layout to great results- and I much prefer it to everything being a progress bar, it feels a little more grounded. anyway, nice job here!
WOW! Reminds me of my favourite line-drawing and guy-racing flash games of youth- super challenging when you get starte dhere and took a bit to pick up on how the marker works, but you get that and then get into the FLOW man!! Love the comical photorealistic hand sprite, ther's something about it that makes me giggle- great stuff here on all fronts
Saw this games thumbnail and threw my hands up going Oh hell yeah!! Great fun to play and reminds me of classic driver on PS1, You did an incredible job with the chunky textures and stuff here.
Aw yeah! I didn't get .... eaten? Worse? I like the bright presentation and sense of looming danger from that creepy plant >:)
Untitled.png
Love this, your color choice is fantastic throughout and i love the enemy designs and big gross baby- Appreciated the mouse sensitivity slider and aim down sights and the smaller things like that, they all come together to make something super polished and dare i say, DOPE
