Bad Television by bitslap 2014-12-10T09:33:00
Nice one! Cute graphics, banging music, funny premise about the TV. Couldn't beat the final boss. Some hit indication would be nice, I agree.

My second try got me the currently third placce in leaderboards with 126 score :D
Minimalism is the key here. I don't even want to wish for something fancier. But I definitely won't play this on a constant basis.
I always love your games. This one is like Sinister as well: not much of a game, but rather an experience. LOVED the art, the theme and the overral mood. I also found countrols to feel great.
Please, make a larger version of this with actual gameplay. I'd so surf the skies with this dragon! Amazing work!
I found stamina to be VERY frustrating. I have no patience to wait this long for it to recover. At first I thought I had some environment collision problems for moving this slow. Also I accidentally chop the wood with my fist, but coul not chop it with an axe, no matter how hard I tried.
This one made me laugh, nice :D
Thanks! I've never done iso before, so it was a challenge to implement.
Well, I am a real sucker for pretty pixels, so I tend to spend much time on my graphics usually. Just the hero is a last-hour addition, not so cool.
I was planning to add enemies, that require you to move around, like bombs and bullet-proof ones, but had no time to do that. Gameplay with just all these maggots is not so tense, you are right. Wish I could've balanced the shoot/jump mechanics. Maybe I'll continue in post-LD.
I wish I had just an hour or two more to add falling bombs to avoid at least. Now you can just stand in the middle doing nothing like a boss :D
Disabling shorth jump distances is intentional. The only tester I had just started spamming them, and I don't want it to play like that.
Thanks, folks! I'll definitely toy with this some more in post-LD days. However there are lots of dirty coding in this version, but maybe I'd like to see a proper sequel on my Android some day.
I could not have my Game Maker: Studio to make a working web version. It has no sound and graphics are crippled as hell. So only Windows for now, sorry.
Ok, guys. This is fuckup of EPIC proportions. I forgot to disable WASD, and thought everyone had a one-button game. I've NEVER used it during testing. I think I've just made then out of habit and forgot about it. Fixing this "typo" took me 5 seconds, should be a proper version without WASD now xD
Great thanks, Ellian! Now I don't really know how many have people found this.
As for FL Studio, I started around 2008, having not a single clue what I was doing. Just around 2013-2014 I felt that I'm any good and not ashamed of my music anymore. That's how you learn things: try it, and then don't stop.
@CullenCoyote no one reported this yet. Very strange. The red arrow is intentional, but so far no one complained to "no hero" bug. What are you running it onto?
Loving this. Too sad I currently have no one to test it with. While AI is too hard, I'd like to see a single player mode with some simple monsters and rain of boxes from the sky. Like in tetris: lowest line disappears, but then starts falling onto you. Make it into full-blown game. I'm really into small arena brawlers nowadays.
You nailed the theme! At first I did not understand that everything was constantly in the room. Great thinking.
A little buggy though. I had tosser stuck in his cell and some boxes to pass through walls.
I found this a little frustrating:
1) I've died many times just entering the battle zone and instantly bumping into spawning enemy ship. It seems that a ship is on the center right every time I enter.
2) Needs better maneuverability. 100% of my deaths are jump bumping into enemies, not from bullets.
3) Bullets are dumb as well. I'd suggest lowering the fire rate but raising damage significantly. I can't feel if I'm damaging enemies, so some feedback would be good.
Otherwise it's a good start, good luck with the future projects!
Damn, wish I had another player to test this :(
Overral it's pretty cute, but I hated the rockets. They are way too fast for me to react
This idea was great. Had myself a Me vs I run. I wish you included weapon characteristics on mouse overs. I don't quite understand the purpose of gas clouds since players are supposed to be watching on one screen. Is it intended for mass battles?
That was just great! I found activating a buzzing track in music with jumping just hilarious! Also cute and kinda hopeless. But very fun.
You've nailed the mood totally! I kinda like the drone soundscape, but wish it had some sounds, even the simplest quiet ones. The creature near bed really got me the first time. The fear of unknown - you are doing it right!
Couldn't get the first ending though. Grew tired of same interactions.
Extremely boring clone of Slenderman. I had no patience to find a fifth present.
You had some BOO moments on me, I'll give you that, and overral mood is ok. But otherwise I'm so sick of uninspiring Slender clones. Sorry.
I found it a very hard time to understand how interface works:
- First I haven't realized that "start" is not a button but a tip to click unpause.
- Also I had no clue that keep potion/feed hero/fulfill order are clickable. Found this randomly.
- Finally no idea how orders and potion correlate. I wish I understood what do people want from me, and which order do I fulfull when giving away the portion.
Otherwise, idea is solid, just frustrating to play. I always like you graphics as well. If you fix this issues in future, I'll gladly give it another try.
Well, that's not very fun, you probably know that. You could've included some twists or combos in classic RPS formula.
Hi guys, thank you for the feedback! Actually we failed with our submission, but we decided to make a proper post-LD version. You can play it here:

Thanks everyone for the amazing feedback so far! We might work on a proper sequel if people are really interested in this game.
If anyone is having problems with mouse buttons, there's an alternative control method using "A" and "D" instead. You still have to aim with mouse though.
Fantastic mood and atmosphere, but controls felt forced and very uncomfortable.
Simple idea, yet very well implemented. I didn't realise you could aim your thrusts at first. Makes things a bit more interesting. Scored 1262, max combo 22.
I feel that theme is missed completely. Graphics are good, sound is moody.
Never been a fan of this type of dungeon crawlers, so I'm not excited about this, sorry.
Simple implementation of a classic theme. I feel it lacks some kind of ersonality maybe. I also found first area controls to be very disorientating.
Finished it though.
Nice idea with hectically exchanging tools. I found it too slow-paced though. True farmer's life maybe :D
Nice little atmospheric metroidvania. As a metroid fan I digged the music choice :D
Vague correlation with the theme. The movement is extremely buggy, especially the trees. Game froze on me because of trees during first playthrough.
This has potential if done right. I like small metroidvanias and especially liked how rooms are interconnected.
It's cute, but I don't think that 2 button controls in this type of game add any particular interest or unusual situation to gameplay. Mostly feels like it just cripples player's movement for no reason.
This is fantastic Joe, you never cease to amaze. Best I've played this LD so far. Wish the game were longer and easier to control the Beard.
Not much of a game, but the first one that made me laugh this LD :)
Cute little brawler, I like it. Art is nice as well. Could really use a bit of sound though. I'd also consider putting more thought into game rhythm like in One Finger Death Punch.
That's the amount of creativity I expect from a two-button game. Found at least 4 actions perfomed by 2 buttons only. Also the theme is... RAD! I wish to see an upgraded version of this. This world could have some more giant radioactive glowing lizards.
Very frustrating for me, I can't get past the 2nd level.
Spent 10 minutes and have no idea how it plays. Got a couple of wins, can't even understand why, it has no relation to surrounding an opponent.
Looks cute, I'd gladly play windows version.
Yeah, uncovering the underlying story and what the heel are you doing there WAS the idea of the game. Thanks for playing!
The play on the theme was the realisation what is going on and nothing is what it seems. I was afraid many people won't get it. My idea was that you should use "look" on everything when you commands change. And yes, there's only one ending.
Thanks for playing!
