error 404 on your game link, I'll come back to review when it's fixed.

chaosed0 2014-12-08 04:58

That is really neat. The mechanics are nearly spot-on - I only wished that I had more feedback on what exactly the repairmen did. What makes the game stand out incredibly well is the tone - it's exactly right, and done with so little. The voices, music, and graphics all give the game character.

Last note - looks like your "Web" link is down, dropbox gives me a 404.

redsigmagroup 2014-12-08 05:01

All links should work now, sorry about that guys

gnat 2014-12-08 05:02

We finally have a proper FTL and Homeworld sequel.

Win is possible, not going to spoil it for you all though. ;)

jrap 2014-12-08 05:16

I haven't seen a game like this before. Also: really frickin good job on this.

madlee 2014-12-08 05:19

Neat idea! Would like there to be a little more to the game. Nice job!

gnat 2014-12-08 05:41

Highly innovative, I've never seen anything like this!

vekjeft 2014-12-08 05:58

Loved it. Nice graphics, mood, sound.. Simple gameplay, but I feel this game is really about the mood.

foolmoron 2014-12-08 06:01

Voice overs are very effective. I legit cared when the characters died.

karlipoppins 2014-12-08 06:02

Solid game. Wish there was a bit more management than crew disposal. I loved the graphics & audio.

daviosmash 2014-12-08 06:05

Loved it. A fun way to try and stick to the theme but be innovative. I lost them all, but still enjoyed it.

empyrealhell 2014-12-08 06:06

This was fantastic. It would be nice to get a little more feedback as to what effect I'm having, but that's really the only negative thing I have to say about it. Overall very good.

bryanegraham 2014-12-08 06:06

Dude... Just dude. Amazing work!

scriptorum 2014-12-08 06:08

Nice idea. I'd love to see something like this fleshed out.

igneousmoon 2014-12-08 06:11

I really liked this one, It took me while to work everything our but it was good.

A bit more information about repairman or info on how essential any part of the ship is to its return home safely would have been good. That and the ability to allocate repairmen to different sub systems would be great for future builds! :D

pcholt 2014-12-08 09:01

Very impressive, I love the personalities of all the different ships.

ajopart 2014-12-08 20:48

Best concept and execution so far !!

maurogik 2014-12-08 20:52

Awesome. It's missing some instructions, but once I got, i really enjoyed it. The voice overs are great !

cmayhem 2014-12-08 20:56

Surprisingly fun. Great atmosphere!

sharp911 2014-12-09 02:20

Great game. Good job

interface 2014-12-09 02:24

Good mood, interesting concept.

ryannielson 2014-12-09 03:32

Interesting idea for a game, but it needs more depth. It could be fleshed out into a very interesting game if you had to do things like assign pilots, load missiles are cargo, pick missions, etc.

khahem 2014-12-09 03:45

Really great mood and innovative game.

I didn't quite understand the meaning of the blue bars (the other colors are ok) however, still managed to win :)

gafblizzard 2014-12-09 03:48

Creative idea. I felt like I had very little control other than assigning a number to a ship though. What if I want to tell a repair crew to focus on the life support instead of a different ship section? Maybe they do that automatically.

alvarop 2014-12-09 04:44

Fun idea but it's lacking gameplay-wise. I think there's a lot of potential and the game already has a nice athmosphere to it. Adding some more mechanics could make it into something fun and engaging.

instant-noodles 2014-12-09 17:19

Nice game !

murmuringdepths 2014-12-09 22:47

Hey fellow dev!
Very cool game, quite punishingly hard I think.
Took a few playthroughs to ensure survival of at least one spacecraft, and can be painful trying to decide who shouldn't make it if there are more than one badly damaged.
But then even when you put lots of repairs on one spacecraft, to hear it was lost just breaks my heart.

Also for those who didn't work it out, blue bars are full health.

reyn 2014-12-10 18:06

I like the idea. I have a high resolution screen, the ship outlines were where I think they should be but the ship images and crew assignment UI are small in the top left corner. I agree with both the depth and feedback comments. Its difficult to see the effect of my actions. The idea of micro managing a space ship hanger is very intriguing, sim hanger :) Lots of operational and technical problems. Crew shifts, part ordering, base expansion, hull repairs ... strikes :-P Thanks!

demy 2014-12-11 05:41

So, technically, you can use only 1 ship full of your support and win? Or was it just a coincidence? Anyway, nice idea and, i should say that, really intuitive controls, thank you for game.

stalker1586 2014-12-11 05:46

wow!! really great! You need to make clear tutorial!

ali312 2014-12-12 04:20

Oh no, I,ve lost all the ships ;(

Nice game though! Sounds and graphics are gread!

ciaodavinci 2014-12-12 04:26

That voice acting is impressive! The game was appealing but I never quite figured out how my choices were affecting the outcome, at the end I was putting everyone on sigma one and he vanquished the enemy.

csanyk 2014-12-12 04:33

Pretty good sound effects. I don't really like this type of game, turn-based no-action stat sims are boring to me, but the sound effects are very well done, which bring this up a notch.

frenchie 2014-12-12 07:10

Nice concept! I really liked that you took the effort to record so many different sounds, and that you only played them once per level - good attention to detail

zorfmorf 2014-12-12 09:51

I couldn't get the audio to run under linux so I won't vote as apparently it really adds a lot to the game. Still loved it though, made ith through with one fighter :)

You requested some feedback, so here it is: This could be really made into something great if you added some more gameplay! Maybe add some managed repair ressources and give some more feedback as to what happened to the ship (Destroyed by laser fire after shields went offline, couldn't make it back due to engine failure, etc) and maybe even some rudimentary mission descriptions and results to get you more invested into the fighters. Different missions could have different requirements (Battle outside of hangar? -> Weapons and shields. Deep space reconnaisance? -> Life support and engines) coupled with the ability to target subsystem repair. And/or pilots could stand beside their ships and give some comments as to what is most important for that mission for them (or crack some jokes) so that you have more connections to them. But I'm sure you had plenty of ideas yourself already that didn't make it into the game due to time constraints. Really hoping for a post-ld version!

jupiter_hadley 2014-12-12 15:39

For some reason the web version wont give me the start button. Great game though! I Included it in part 9 of my Ludum Dare 31 compilation video series, if you would like to check it out :) http://youtu.be/08ofw2klihI

rjhunter 2014-12-15 07:16

Interesting game!

The different pilots' personalities came through very strongly in the voice acting, and that was marvellous.

I would have liked a big more feeling of "time passing" while the fighters were out on a mission, and maybe a bit more guidance on what to do (it took me a few clicks before I figured out what the game was about).

Good work!

lovelock 2014-12-16 08:05

It took me a second to find the controls but once I did I thought it was a neat concept. It's definitely an original idea and I would also like to see a more fleshed out version. Clever. :)

papygaragos 2014-12-16 10:00

Good job with this entry, It doen't feel like a bunch of features thrown together (for once). I actually had a very similar idea with my game, but it turner out waaay different :)

Took me a while to figure out what to do after assigning my crew to different ships though : The "start repairs" button doesn't look very button-y to me.

I beat it on the first try (with only one ship left , but hey...)

The only thing I didn't like is that the differents values looked very random. Not enough feedback on that point.

jupiter_hadley 2014-12-20 20:54

*I Included it in part 11 of my Ludum Dare 31 compilation video series, if you would like to check it out :) http://youtu.be/09kdLS-s81I

budaniel 2014-12-22 06:20

I liked the concept, and it would seem like it would be a natural on a touch-screen device. My concern is the complete lack of in-game instructions, and the next mission button was hard to find. The voice overs were hilarious, and the music was decent. I would clean up the interface and make the goals a little clearer. Maybe allow the player assign workers to different systems on the ships? Overall fun with room for improvement.

gameattack 2014-12-29 19:29

Simple and nice. I like that instead of animations sounds and voices makes us imagine the action. I think you could do a little better for the graphics though. Isn't the environment too clean for a repair shop?

redsigmagroup 2014-12-29 19:37

Art Guy here!
Thanks for the feedback! We're going to address that in the full release for sure. In retrospect, I wish I could have done more to the hangar itself, but I just didn't have enough time.

halleflux 2014-12-29 20:47

I didn't quite get it at first, but I understood it pretty quickly.
Great job, not much to say that hasn't been said.
Though one thought is that it might do well to add in choices that are more moral-based, forcing the player to either try to be a white knight or a cold, calculating commander, who only needs to get through the mission.
