A nicely executed concept. I like how the levels reforms itself after every stage.

A nicely executed concept. I like how the levels reforms itself after every stage.
A very complete experience. The way you used artwork and text is really nice, I liked the life of contemplation this eyeball lives in.
Nice entry! I liked how you broke up the two worlds into two drastically different art styles. Pretty hilarious.
Really interesting art style. I would have liked more to interact with in each room. Not sure if the timer is necessary.
Good start!
Interesting concepts here but I'm not sure exactly what I need to do or who's side I'm on.
Really cool concept, but the belch-scream was waaaaaay too loud. You've got some really cool ideas here, but I feel like having to go back to serve the patrons prohibits me from really exploring the other games.
Good work.
Good job! I would have a liked a little bit more feedback for how fast I was going. Also, more speed powerups would have been nice.
Some more varied sound effects would have spiced it up a bit too.
Good start!
Interesting ideas here, unfortunately it crashed after building my first toy :(
Mind expanding! well done!
Hey interesting concept and great execution. I found it hard to understand why I was dying at the beginning (especially when it was because the scanline had destroyed the pellet). I found the controls a bit slide-y and the jump seemed somehow delayed.
Fantastic game. Really intruiging use of recursive factories, and there's some thought provoking implications concerning the score.
Score stopped recording after 9.something%, but I did snag this shot of my score: http://i.imgur.com/wmYRLcC.png
I'd try and make more use of science in the later stages of the game. (Unless you're making a statement about the limits of scientific epistemology, in which case, kudos!)
Great work!
Hey I had a lot of fun with this. Loved the different stages of play that came out of it. I never fully understood what the green seeds are all about - were you supposed to avoid them? Also not sure how I kept getting hit with the purple lightning - it was painful to watch my beautiful trees get munched while I was in stasis
Clever and funny idea. The graphics and audio really sold the absurdity of it all. great job!
Wow an interesting mechanic that is well explored with the different abilities you pick up. The presentation is nice and I appreciate the explanations in the game. Liked the animations for the fire and boomerang. Health doesn't feel necessary and dying is very punishing to have to start over.
That was a beautiful experience and I enjoyed the dragons movement. Hope you continue to flesh it out.
I won! I liked the frantic feel and it fits well with the theme :) Didn't hear any audio.
Your concept was interesting and I liked trying to understand the relationship between the choices given and the number of coloured characters nearby. I can't help but wish that the choices were more meaningful in some way. Maybe that frustration is the point you were trying to make.
Hey that was a great use of the theme. I love switching between drone & soldier to find my enemies. I found it hard to get the drop on enemies even when I knew where they were because they would start shooting instantly upon detection.
Very cool, I was able to play from start to finish :D
At first i had trouble finding my character and knowing who i was controlling, his hair being the same colour as the skulls made it harder.
I tried to find a reliable way to avoid damage and was able to mostly, but sometimes when i sworded the enemy they got knocked into me as well. I eventually managed to defeat the boss, but i felt like i restarted too many times to feel like it was an achievement.
I also didn't realize at first that I had to buy something before i'd be able to use magic.
hey this is a solid start. Could use some more feedback when getting hit. Taking the graphics in some new directions could help the mood and I wasn't hearing any audio on my version.
Great animations! The game happens very far down the screen, you could use more of the screen-space.
I wanted more depth from the gameplay
Small note: the high score didn't update with my score on the first death.
I liked its frantic nature but found it difficult to control well and hard to find myself on the edges. I liked how you can use firing to propel yourself when the fuel runs out.
Hey good job, the game has a nice feel and I like the graphics!
Hey good job. I liked how you can jump right back into the fight with a new robot and how the AI's moves can be learned to beat them. If you are updating things maybe make the text on the main page stand out more because it is hard to read when overtop of objects.
The audio mute button in the top left didn't seem to affect the audio of the game.
Hey had fun playing this with 4 players. It was fun being chased by the monsters while teammates tried to take them down. It was hard to see the blue player on the blue background and reviving dead players was kind of unclear.
Interesting story but the text layout was a bit hard to follow. It would be easier to read if the paragraphs were broken up more.
Art was really nice and the story was lots of fun.
Cool use of the theme! I liked the different challenges on the same terrain. A sound when you land may make it easier to time your jumps especially on level 8 (where I got stuck)
Interesting take on the classic game, it's challenging to wrap your head around it. I like the simple style you used in the visuals.
Hey great job getting this together! I enjoyed the enemies and their animations. It was sometimes hard to differentiate between foreground and background elements which became a problem when you need to avoid enemies. If the background was lighter it may improve the problem.
Neat game! good use of the theme to create an interesting world to explore. I found the controls difficult to get used to, why not have each arrow button take you in that direction instead of turning. Also I had the inventory panel open without realizing it and kept thinking I was walking off the side of the map because the panel and the background are both black. Music and subtle wind sound sets a great mood.
Hey I liked the concept and that starter screen that lets you choose a maze. I found it hard to survive for very long because of the slow rate of fire.
Great job for your first game! I pressed Shift in the title screen and it crashed, and in-game it did not show the credits.
It seems a bit punishing if you do not choose the right path on the first turn. I like the humour and the playfulness.
I liked the world and I always love dinos. I got stuck my first time in the terrain :( Then I was kicking dino butt after I stopped using my gamepad (doh) and then dinos rained on me in thousands. good time but the perspective is difficult to understand.
I managed to get to the second level, i like the wall grip! i found it hard to find any successful strategy for the turrets on level 1 other than getting lucky, though. I like the attention paid to the presentation between rounds, but once i'm in control i found it was a lot less clear. I also find the walking/jumping feels a bit raw, and could use more attention.
it was interesting to see what each character could do! I loved the butcher enjoying a steak in a park on his way home.
Enigmatic art style. Cool game mechanic. It took me a long time to figure out that the world was changing. Double jump was tough.
Some great art and gameplay ideas here. Unfortunately I found its difficulty too punishing and I was always dead before the 3rd enemy. I found that my windows bar displayed on top of the game, not sure if that's an unreal thing or just me.
I liked that the zombies had independent behaviour! i found the aiming a bit inconsistent, but it's hard to explain why.
Very funny! Manjual was my favorite.
The petri dish of mixing chemicals was fascinating and a good interpretation of the theme. I struggled understanding what each dropper did even after reading the instructions. I like the name.
Hey, good job!
That effect is quite interesting and used well. I do wish there was a reset after being destroyed.
Nice idea! I found the wolves near impossible to escape and would eat up my entire flock. I couldn't quite understand the motives of the yellow or multi-colour sheep - they just seemed to run off and get eaten. Maybe I'm not cool enough :)
Hey that was fun. It took me a while to find the crack but I liked trying to blow it open. Damn those kaisers are always on my face.
Interesting multiplayer concept. We played 3 players. Sharing the control of the camera among the players was confusing. Seems like some players were not able to rotate the pieces.
Looks like an interesting game but I could not get the web player version running at an acceptable speed. Will try the windows version if I get a chance.
Hey you've got some good stuff working here. I feel like it could benefit from more feedback when you are getting getting hit or hitting enemies. The stealth is an interesting twist but you need to see some indication of where you are.
Love the visual style from the screenshots, unfortunately I'm on a mac...
Wow. That was beautiful. The colour and contrast of that cave was fascinating and the music was a great addition to the ambiance. I found running back over places that I've already been to was starting to try my patience. I felt that the passages could use more connections to each other.
I think it needs feedback when you press the wrong button or the right button at the wrong time. I had trouble understanding what I was doing wrong at first, maybe the button prompt should highlight when pressing it will land a hit. The hits are satisfying though!
Hey good job. At first I thought there was no way to predict the razors but then I developed some techniques that got me to 30 seconds.
Everything looks super polished and I enjoyed the startup screen a lot. I felt like I was looking for some deeper meaning to the dialog that never fully realized. I ended up just saying what would make them happy.
That voice acting is impressive! The game was appealing but I never quite figured out how my choices were affecting the outcome, at the end I was putting everyone on sigma one and he vanquished the enemy.
Voice acting was awesome. You should add some visual feedback for the higher weights.
Could think about changing it up with different weights, and adding some kind of balancing mechanism to encourage changing it up.
Keep it up!
Hey! thanks it was fun jumping around the levels, i found it a bit hard to see tell where i could stand though.
Cool! it was a lot of fun to run/jump around, though not having control of the height of my jump made it hard to avoid hitting enemies sometimes.
It seems that if you put a mine on the bottom floor and hide behind the spawners there's no way for them to get to you.
I'd also love for the text to be bigger, it took me a while to figure out how much everything cost.
hey LexGear, did you download hyperplasm_osx_64? Us mac users need to use tattiebogle to get gamepads working (http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/ProjectRoot/Xbox360Controller/OsxDriver). Are you able to launch the game at all?
Nope, no keyboard support. mainlua:174 triggers if you hit "o". It takes a screenshot if your platform supports it.
Thanks for the feedback TriSquare :) I'll investigate this issue, what platform are you on?
Hey StMatn, we've only tested with xbox 360 controllers so far but I'd like to try with other gamepads. If the game detects a connected gamepad you will see a little coloured rectangle in the top left with a flashing 'A'. Thanks for passing along the info.
We've created a new version with keyboard controls, new levels and music: mindfungus.itch.io/hyperplasm
try it out :)
Misleading title, but great game nonetheless.
I'd like to be able to change direction while I charge a snowball.
Also, the ai wasn't keen on going for the flag.
Mining operations running at maximum! We must harvest the ever-cube for all that it is worth!
very satisfying game. Loved the visuals and clear UI. Wish there was sound...
This is cool. I liked the varied controls you got working.
I liked that sunset graphic in the background. The game was fun but difficult, maybe the challenge could be ramped up over a longer time.
I had fun with this! The generated levels are nice and I liked the haunted masks that hunted me. I enjoyed the procedural levels created over larger displays.
I wasn't able to launch the mac version of the game, I would double click the app and it would expand but nothing would happen.
Then I played the web version and it was amazing. Loved how multiplayer worked on one keyboard and could include so many people. The sound and art really carried the experience.
Nice retro colours, cool art and catchy music. Very enjoyable to fling spaceships all over the screen. Could not establish what determines the Fling Bonus at the end of the round. Also, just to let you know that the OS X version worked fine for me.
Great atmosphere and music.
The screen-bounce with shot release was satisfying.
The death sound effect was too jarring though.
Since you've enable arrow-key movement, I suggest adding a keybind to right shift for the expanded view.
Fun stuff! (-a fellow lover)
Great job giving a sense of visual depth with the blurry elements in the foreground and the sharp background ones. The stylized visuals and music contribute to an intriguing atmosphere. Looking forward to seeing what you end up doing with it.
Excellent work!
Hotkeys would make the gameplay a lot smoother.
Nice take on the theme. I enjoyed the art. The camera gave me a hard time since it kept following my pet and leaving me out of the frame (running it on Mac). I agree that it would be great to make the pet stand out more among all the other creatures.
Nice job. Great art style. Really enjoyed the overall mood. Music was catchy and sfx fit well. Found the movement with the keys was a bit laggy. Played it on Safari.
I liked the animations of the dog! they were super cute. and the sparkles when you were in the spotlight! the music was also really nice. it took a little while to get a hang of the controls, i found often i accidentally held the button too long when i wanted a short tap, and he went flying!
This is one of my favourite ludum dare games that i've played! I love how well everything fits together, and it's just so heartwarming i can't explain!!
Cool stuff! I enjoyed the visual style and how you explored the 2 button theme in three different ways.
I enjoyed the franticness of it; however I did not last more than a few rounds if I concentrated on more than one game. Maybe starting off with just one game and progressively add the rest would create a better difficulty curve. Experienced control conflicts when the same key appeared for more than one mini-game. Nice design and lots of potential!
This is super charming! My main obstacle was figuring out how to get new seeds, reading the description helped with that : )
This was so much fun! Great concept, and the design was intuitive.
Couldn't get the .jar file to execute. Concept seemed nice though!
Fantastic entry! One of the best entries I have seen. The background art, characters and animations were really beautiful and enjoyable. The music and sound effects were also very fitting and set a nice reflective mood. I did not understand if there was any consequence in destroying the other characters in some levels. I liked the mechanic, but found it a bit too easy. Perhaps adding a bit of complexity to the levels would be cool. Great job overall!
Really cool entry! I loved the patterns it created on the screen. A bit more guidance on which image represents what type of growth would be nice. Also, maybe giving better feedback on the state of the system would be more rewarding. I saw there is an "Ants: indicator, but it was always displaying 50, regardless of how I changed temperature or pollination. If you continue working on it, adding sound based on the number of a certain type of growth could create interesting soundscapes. Good job!
I kept losing before getting instructions on how to grow leaves, it also seems a little random when sunbeams come down and when they don't
I had a crash just like others reporting.. this is ther error message I found:

Great game. I was a bit confused at the beginning when I could not attack when I was carrying the baby, but it made sense after a short while. Felt the middle levels were the most challenging. Really enjoyed the narrative and the sacrifice mechanic! Would be great to integrate some sound, if you continue working on it. Nice job!
Hi Tselmek, what version did you download?
It was a bit hard to figure out what different actions did, i flew off away from everything by accident o_o
Cute graphics and well-matching sounds. Really enjoyed how the soundscape gets added through time. I felt that the randomness of the tile placement left me with little control over the outcome and overall strategy of the game. Great take on the theme of the jam!
Nice job! I was using a trackpad and I found the controls really difficult. The panda was moving really fast and it was hard to land on platforms. Cool looking sprites!
Nice art and sprites, especially Grownan and the helibros. Good job in using the two-button and growth themes.
Hey nice job! Something about knocking people out in rapid succession that is pretty... satisfying. It's got that hotline miami vibe :) I agree that the sfx don't quite match the aesthetic that you have - also having a sfx when you get hit would be helpful. Maybe flashing your character or the screen red when you get hit as well to let you know when you are taking damage.
Nice art and music. Good job putting all the assets you collected together! Nice work for 8h of development!
Really interesting use of the theme. great job as always! Everything about this game felt like it was put together really well.
The interface was great. Clever interpretation of shapeshift. I hope you expand on this!
I didn't realize I could click on the bottom left icon at first to shape-shift but once I figured that out I had fun with it. The hexagon was really powerful, I didn't want to go off of it.
I was playing coop with my friend and it was challenging to beat a later mission, we had fun. I'm glad the gamepad support was there :)
Hey this was pretty cool. It would be nice if the music would continue to play when you die instead of starting over.
It felt a bit punishing but I liked going really fast after playing through the level a few times. I think i would have preferred focusing on how to pick up more rather than avoiding obstacles.
also because I didn't mention: great job! i had a lot of fun.
Really cool mechanic although I did find it hard to use. Great interpretation of the theme!
Wow so cool! This was fun to play with and runs great in the browser.
Hey cool game, I liked the mood and the switching bodies mechanic was neat. The platforming felt a bit slow and floaty to me but maybe that was just the web version.
fun little game. There is something quite satisfying about snipping bushes
Cool game! It looks great.
The movement felt good, but turning around to fire an arrow and then turning around to kite the tiger felt a little janky.
Also, I was confused by the weapons changing when I encountered a new tiger.
Love the puns ^^. Good stuff!
Thanks guys!
@Cosine Yes I agree with your suggestion, we've been working on a post-jam update that let's you lift the bug off of the page so you are not always painting with it.
@FloatingGhost awww, that's exactly what I like to hear.
@aeveis hey nice doodle! We've been posting our paintings to twitter with #paintbug https://twitter.com/search?q=%23paintbug&src=typd (kind of an informal shared gallery)
Cool concept. That title screen is wild :)
I really like the aesthetic of the game, its pretty cool wandering around this city filled with aliens. Good use of the theme to create an interesting mechanic. My favorite part was stomping around the tiny village as the big alien, destroying all the houses - were those just tiny aliens and I was destroying their homes?
I was confused at first but the info menu helped us figure it out. Nice job.
This is cool, it was fun turning into stone to pass through the death rays. I felt that it would be cool to slide a bit when turning into stone - the stop on shift right now is quite abrupt.
wow I actually had a lot of fun with this game. I was trying to go max speed with the car and then I hit one of those blue cubes and was sent into a mad roll - was great.
It was fun to be a tree. I was disappointed I couldn't use the chainsaw on the tree to get across the roof gap. Still found my way in because of the dead guy. That was surprising.
I saved the world! Fun game and I enjoyed the graphics. I think sound would help the feel of the game in a great way.
Hey great job! Well put together.
Great game! I had a lot of fun playing this. The music and rushing walls really made it feel intense and it was fun to get better at surviving. Would make a great mobile game.
This place was creepy and I liked it. I felt like darkness coming to end all things bright and loud.
Then it crashed.
Great job!
This was really cool and challenging. It was fun to keep jumping back into it
Hey nice job! It's a bit unclear who are your allies/enemies and how the light affects them. The particle swarms and lines for the creatures were cool though.
fun characters and cool board of traps and levers.
really enjoyed the visuals - colors, screen-shake, lighting were all nice! Definitely should finish it.
I like the concept of punching cards, both for movement and as an ancient technology. I also enjoyed the animation of the grid when hitting a rock. It feels like the plane's navigational system is breaking. Perhaps having a wider range of pitches in the sfx would make each of them stand out more (moving, turning. colliding, etc.) Nice job!
Really great atmosphere! The eerie music and the lighting sets in the mood perfectly. I read in the comments that there were darts. I didn't get to see them :( I seemed to be stuck in the same room with the box and the switch regardless of which exit I took. Maybe it was a bug? There seems to be a lot of potential with the few elements you have there, but think of how each room is interesting in its own way and how to make players enjoy their learning. Keep it up!
Cool game!
- sometimes the attack animations would overlap into other models.
- it felt like the flat 2d for the little coineys didn't work with the rest of the game's approach to 3d
- I wanted a more structured way of experiencing the levels.
there wasn't any sense of completion in my playthrough.
I had fun though, great job!
I really enjoyed playing this, my final score was 18600. I wish it got harder. Would be fun to be swarmed with ghosts in end :)
neat experience! The pixel art is superb and the music creates a great atmosphere. The ending felt punishing after all the hard work I put in taking pieces off, but now I hear there are other endings - I am curious...
Great and funny game! I loved the animation, the art and the sfx. Controls were hard, but it was a good challenge. Adding BG music and sfx when the island gets destroyed would be nice.
Yes I am having the same problem as @skreeb Make sure to 'SHARE' on dropbox and then 'Create a link'.
nice game. really loved where you took the theme.
one annoying bug: I was getting items stuck on top of each other
hehe, fun stuff. a couple thoughts:
- I liked how the health bars went negative, it's like I could see how much damage I did to them in the short span between their hp going below the bar and when they despawned. It's like an overkill bar.
- the bullet sound was overwhelming. it sounds like you were playing the sound effect every frame
- A+ menus
Really great concept. I had trouble understanding how to build onto the plant at first but it was fun after reading the instructions. I got stuck at a part where I could only build turrets because all I was growing was red apples - did I do something wrong?
man that guard turned me directly into a skeleton! Really neat game - loved the adventure through time and the ending was great. Falling into pits wasn't so fun though.
I enjoyed this experience. I like how the visuals, music and story progression create a sense of mystery to this world. The long corridors do get tedious though and it really needs an ending to the story!
This is fantastic. Really liked the way the pacing unfolded. It felt natural to move between the drill and the explosives.
The camera felt nice and elastic.
There's a lot to admire here and I hope you develop it further!
Thanks for the game!
The music really fit with the gameplay. The sound effects were great too.
After I gameovered I wasn't sure if I needed to press anything to start again or if the game would restart after a set amount of time.
Some small suggestions:
Landing a slash didn't feel very juicy. Maybe some slight knockback or screenshake would do it.
The environment was pretty cool, but I think it's missing something - maybe some way of encouraging the player to kite the enemies towards part of the level.
Cool stuff!
We really enjoyed your game! The art and graphics are very pretty and fit really well with the soothing and relaxing music. We especially liked the robot on the corner.
It took us 5 turns to figure out that buildings could be stacked, but when we found that out, we really loved the animations.
The roads didn't seem to contribute to reaching the goal. If they did, we couldn't figure it out.
Maybe consider changing the typeface used when selecting buildings. Currently it is too thin and small, and it is hard to read.
Also, perhaps the goal screen and your current score can be combined into one screen (such as, INFRASTRUCTURE: XX/XX).
Thanks for this game! Really enjoyed playing through it - the aesthetic felt consistent and it matched up well with the music.
Took me a couple tries, but I beat level 8.
I hope you keep working on this, there's a lot of potential here!
Amazing mood and music! I also really enjoyed the minimal animations and the simplicity of it all. Great puzzle designs! One small comment, I got stuck between the two descending doors. Maybe adding a reset button for these cases would be useful. Overall, a solid entry!
Really beautiful design, mood and music (I used Chrome and it worked fine). I loved how simple it is and smoothly it plays. Also thanks for sharing on Twitter how this was done. Very cool!
Beautifullly ephemeral! The atmosphere, the music and the changing environment made it all magical. Thank you for making it!
As others have said, I had a bit of trouble getting used to the change of measures. It took me a song to actually realize that the end note of a measure was duplicated at the beginning of the next.
Also, whenever I did not play the correct note, the song seemed to be interrupted or delayed slightly which was too distracting. I was playing on a Mac.
In terms of difficulty, I thought it was adequate. I started with Air getting 71% and the rest were 90+%, so I think I got used to it :)
Would love to see the soundtrack available somewhere! Overall, beautiful game!
Loved the art! Some idle animations would have been cool.
I didn't like that I got the same question more than once.
Really enjoyed flicking the characters.
Really fun! Thanks!
a bug: one of the options only read "No he"
Awesome work!
I didn't realize that I could use one of the clues on the other clues. I was trying to use clues on the environment.
Also, I think I got stuck in the second black room. Couldn't figure out how to trigger the next scene the first time I played, but it advanced properly on the second playthrough.
Overall I loved it though. It was like a cross between a Greg Egan novel and Lovecraft. Creepy.
Wow, thanks for this game.
Felt really bouncy and fun. The animations are slick, and I like how quickly it drops you in game. Holds together very nicely, and I'm looking forward to playing it with more people.
one quibble: windows asked me for network privileges unprompted, I prefer to choose network access from a menu
Hey! Awesome stuff. The aesthetics reminded me of fract (the soundtrack too!)
If you press spacebar again, you autojump when you land. Dunno if it's intentional, but it made me want to bunny-hop everywhere.
I found the swaying while you walk a bit excessive.
Thanks for the game, really enjoyed playing through it.
