Interesting fisheye effect on the world. I would suggest making a menu start screen or something to click on to start because I would load the webpage and already start dying before I got my hand on the mouse

Like the idea of the fish eye effect, but it seems to be pretty hard.. also, graphics could use a bit of work :)

The first time I Played I had no idea what was going on and was dead before I realized it. I think having a 'game over' and then reset would be useful. Once I realized what it was about, I thought the fisheye effect was a pretty cool way to get the whole game world onto the screen. Nice work!

I find the idea very interesting. However I'm not sure that a fisheye effect has its best place in a space game where most of the gameplay rotates around a large space to be discovered. The narrowed field of view made it a bit hard to see where you were going. Anyways, perfect score on innovation. A little more gameplay would have been nice! Great job! :)

Interesting concept, I like the fisheye effect! Indeed it does seem quite a challenge but a good entry nonetheless.

PS; Just a note that the embedded game seems to lag this LD page out after about 30 seconds. Probably due to continuous spawning of enemies: http://ludumdare.com/compo/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/woah.png

The fish eye approach to a shooter is pretty cool. The following things could help quite a bit:

-Reduce the scale of your ships so that your camera is "further" out so you can use the fish eye effect to show the ships coming. In other words, so you can widen the gradient of the refraction so you can see the ships coming
-The ships shoot at you from almost off screen and there's nothing you can do but take the hits. You could add some degree of innacuracy and range to the enemies
-A game title screen would help as would a game over screen and restart
-Now that I type this, maybe get rid of shooting enemies entirely, if there was asteroids and just kamikaze enemy ships, that could be fun.

The download version didn't seem to work for me. I'd execute it and nothing would happen. Might want to zip up your Mac version (Because a .app is just a folder).

That effect is quite interesting and used well. I do wish there was a reset after being destroyed.

Also really liked the fish-eye effect, excellent way to pack in "more space" onto the screen! Had a little difficulty with the controls, would have liked to have been able to right-click without the browser menu coming up.

That is innovative! "On one screen? ok. We can project the whole plane on the screen". I love the originality)
