LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Octogonal Switcher by Jogy34 2014-12-09T05:10:00

I have played a lot of time this thing. Is a really good twist on the basic platformer.
This needs instructions, though. A little bit more of information. I lost about half an hour trying to understand the basic mechanics of it.

Control by xgeovanni 2014-12-13T08:22:00

Very addictive. I would love multiplayer. The music tired me after a while, because games can get really long, but I just muted it out.

Space Melee by reverso13 2014-12-09T21:00:00

Cool sumo kind of game. I feel that players movement could be more polished, but it was fun to play.

True Story by OrangeeZ 2014-12-11T22:19:00

It was nice. I think you should opt out of the audio category because you are using the song Snake Eater (which is really cool), rules say if you use audio previously created, or created by someone not from your team, you should opt out of that category.

A Terrible Place to Raise Children by otaviogood 2014-12-12T04:45:00

I think the difficulty is okay. You learn through losing. Cool concept, nice procedural content; some actual models instead of colored spheres would make it really shine.

You Can't Take The Space From Me by ZeronSix 2014-12-12T02:53:00

It was really fun. Loved the weird rules. Argh! I just hate the confused mode.

Car Survival Horror 3000! by doos 2014-12-09T03:39:00

Nice idea. It'd be more fun if it was a little harder to play.

SnowBomber by Mikel 2014-12-25T19:27:00

Fun twist of the old bomberman games.

Missing Picture by ToadieTechnika 2014-12-09T07:20:00

Really elegant and beautiful. I wish it was longer. I think you could tell very nice stories with this.

Laundry Day by Omiya Games 2014-12-29T17:20:00

This is weirdly relaxing. I love that I can do other things while playing it.

Mr. Bushido: Businessman Infinite by Spaghetti and Meatball 2014-12-09T05:41:00

It doesn't do much with the theme, but tt has interesting mechanics.

Ninja Golf by Kiwiboi 2014-12-25T19:14:00

Interesting concept, I think it could use better controls, and it could move faster.

Lump of Butter by Aske 2014-12-25T19:23:00

This is kind of addictive. I love the graphic art.

The Cathedral by brogrammers 2014-12-09T03:51:00

What nice idea. Good historical context. I've never seen a building game with a mechanic that involves the player actually putting physical work in order to build. I really like it.

PostFour : Reconstruction by monika 2014-12-09T06:45:00

Dropbox says the game is not there :(

Spacey Trail by Jacksendary 2014-12-09T06:51:00

It is interesting, but it has too many dead moments waiting for something to happen.

Victorian Circus by ilokimo 2014-12-11T22:09:00

Beautiful graphics. Really cool hybrid animal concept.

Neighboring by psychonull 2014-12-11T22:20:00

This really fun and really funny. Congratulations.

Dolly by Jessica Hayley 2014-12-09T05:27:00

Really cool graphics. Simple but fun enough mechanic. Hey, at least you tried to do something interesting with the theme. Must people just limited themselves to do games in one screen without using the theme to make their games more interesting.

Existential by LukeZaz 2014-12-09T07:01:00

It is a nice idea. The game is too easy. If enemies were stronger, or smarter, or faster, and if your health didn't fill up so fast, it would be more fun.

Pixel Pixie by Code White 2014-12-25T19:15:00

This was a lot of fun. I think I would have rather liked to play the harder version; a game should be a challenge after all.

Hockey Slash by metalchouchen 2014-12-12T04:31:00

We actually did sounds with our mouths. : )

Touch of Light by XilenceX 2014-12-09T05:32:00

It doesn't need a timer, although something that tells you if you are getting a good score or not would be nice; something graphical, maybe. Its really simple, but it's fun.

Footage by Muush 2014-12-09T05:14:00

Nice setting and idea. Too bad you didn't get to finish it, I would love to see it complete.

Diametric by JFern 2014-12-09T04:18:00

Hey, it's really pretty. Is the sound procedurally generated?

The Caged Burd Sings by Ryan Kline 2014-12-09T20:42:00

The bird with the gun is really cute *_*.

7 Days of War by error031 2014-12-09T05:19:00

No sound on web version. Interesting playthrough. I can of feel in need of more things to do, though.

Rotate And Hide by pcmaster 2014-12-09T20:54:00

Cool twist of a tower defence kind of game. With better enemy AI this could be really fun.

Mr. Jones and the Dark Maze by Absor 2014-12-11T21:32:00

I like this. It has interesting mechanics and cool graphics. I also like that the levels are procedurally generated and that it is not about killing everything; it's surviving. I would have liked an ambient sound that contributed more to the terrorific setup insted of that low resolution music. Also, it is not as fun played on the iframe because the figures are too small.

You Are Lost by farwyler 2014-12-11T23:10:00

Beautiful sound and graphics. It's a really cool mood and it is hard enough to be fun.

Kaiser by oscarabraham 2014-12-09T04:06:00

(: Thank you.

That's weird, I cannot replicate what happened to you, Ryan. Maybe I'll look into it a little more. Anyway, you can solve it by playing it fullscreen, or playing in another tab.

Kaiser by oscarabraham 2014-12-09T04:11:00

It doesn't have sound if you are playing in a browser that doesn't support audio API. Try it on Chrome! or at least on Firefox, it is much more cooler.

Kaiser by oscarabraham 2014-12-09T08:33:00

Thank you. It doesn't scroll, the platforms move up, that's why the player falls down with normal progression of gravity acceleration, although I supose it's all relative. If you get out of the screen, you are hurt and returned. It plays on the fact that everything can leave the screen but you and dares you to break it.

Kaiser by oscarabraham 2014-12-09T19:48:00

Yeah, the touch controls suck. I didn't have time to implement a touch stick. I wonder, if I implement a touch stick would that be some kind of porting, or would that be cheating?

Kaiser by oscarabraham 2014-12-11T23:41:00

:/ some few people are having this problem. It shouldn't do that if you have clicked the game screen with the mouse, it should capture the keyboard. :(. It has nothing to do with your system. I don't know why this bug happens, I cannot replicate it. I beg you to bear with me and try it in full screen or in another window. I really hope it is not of such importance that you cannot enjoy the game.

If someone has an idea of how I can replicate this bug in order to solve it, please tell me, I'll be really glad. If it is easey enough to not interfere with the rules of the jam, I'll solve it.

Kaiser by oscarabraham 2014-12-12T03:59:00

@Psycho null, you move with arrows, the arrows that appear at first meant the arrow keys. (: Thank you.

Kaiser by oscarabraham 2014-12-13T07:37:00

Thank you! I really loved the video. I will share it on our facebook page, if that's okay.

Kaiser by oscarabraham 2014-12-26T00:49:00

Thank you
@twelveplusplus The theme is honored in that it is a one screen game (it might seem that the scree scrolls down, but actually the platforms move up. Look at how everything else moves). Also, try the hint, explode around 15-20 bombs in the middle; then the theme will really shine.

It has keyboard controls, they are explained in the first moment: you move with the arrow keys, leave bombs with the down key.

Kaiser by oscarabraham 2014-12-26T01:25:00

Tilting sounds like a good idea, I hadn't thought about it, thanks.

Kaiser by oscarabraham 2014-12-29T22:27:00

Thank you all that took time to comment, I know that most of you are trying to not waste time to play the most games possible, so if you gave our game the time it needed to be understood and even made time to comment, I am really glad, very thankful. I think I have played all your games finally. Most of them were pretty fun; it was really nice to play them, thank you for them.

Attack of the Sodas! by Upgradecap 2014-12-12T03:04:00

I'm actually glad I found a console game, at least this is different to everything I've seen so far.

Electric Jezebel by OttersDen 2014-12-09T22:08:00

Really nice way to push the theme (pun not intended)

HYPERPLASM by ciaodavinci 2014-12-09T08:01:00

This is really fun and new. I sure will be playing this with my friends tomorrow, and a lot of other days probably. I love this kind of different, fast, competitive, multiplayer games.
I wish you would somehow support keyboards, it would be much easier to play with my friends. (we do not have four controls)

rogodo by tomo 2014-12-11T23:28:00

I think it is the point for the clouds to be in the foreground, they make things more challenging.

Flashlight by Team Flashlight 2014-12-09T21:13:00

Really cool. It will be nice to have to option to rotate with arrows instead of the mouse.

[mεks] by spassfabrik 2014-12-09T07:35:00

It is really cute. The mechanics doesn't work as well as they could; it's more about patience than a real challenge, but it is funny, so it is not hard to be patient.

Much Adoge about Chocolate by Arpeggiatura 2014-12-09T07:39:00

Man! I feel kind of dumb; I don't really get it. I feel like it is intentionally glitchy. I usually stay with games that aren't easy to understand because often they are a pleasant suprise. But I don't get this.

Escape from the Credits by badlydrawnrod 2014-12-11T23:45:00

Really funny. The mechanics of this game are really similar to mine :).

EGoOS by alwaysinbeta 2014-12-09T20:41:00

Nice recoil mechanics. You should use a circle or a capsule, for the collision of the player, or walls that are only one hit box (not one per tile) that way the player won't stick to the walls so easily.
