Liked the mazes
Maybe there's something I am missing, but I can't even survive a single maze because my shooting-frequency is so low.
interesting concept. A little hard to play.
cool play on the theme. The controls are a bit touchy for the precision required to navigate the mazes. And the red square guys all but disappear when you shine your light on them. I was never sure if my bullets were doing anything. Don't mistake my critizism for dislike though, I did enjoy the game overall. Very fun.
At some point the bullet was getting stuck inside the player... might be a simple fix to spawn it next to you instead of in you.
Mazes were neat, but the shooting frequency was so low that the levels end up feeling tedious.
hahaha, that was not easy. great work!
A bit too many enemies, but I like the concept and minimalism)
Difficult but surprisingly fun for its simplicity. I love how you put all four levels on one screen in the beginnging, gave it a nice sectional feeling :)
PS: Made it to 3rd room twice, can't get any further ;)
Game is hard!!! But I like the way you played the theme card!!!
Nice game! Thought the shots were a bit underpowered, especially in the tight mazes.
Nice
I would love to have attack speed upgrades and maybe damage upgrades, but overall I love the concept and the fact that there is mazes in the way of your strafing. Great game!
I like the way you handled the "levels". Very addictive game. Congratz!
Smart interpretation of the theme! Had som fun with the game. Encountered a bug where i couldn't shoot and died.
Oh man the horde! HOLY CRAP I yelled when they spawned! Hard to fight them with the the single slow repeat shot >.<
nice music, and the graphics do what they're supposed to. killing enemies was tedious rather than engaging for me. there's so many, you shoot pretty slow, and they take multiple hits to die.
The concept is interesting but it's wayyy too hard to be enjoyable, at least for me! I can hardly get past the first maze!
Cool game! I beat it on my first try with only 4 HP left! Can I make a couple suggestions? I would have modified the enemy logic a little: 1) make the green guys shoot at a small offset to the player position instead of directly to him in order to make things less robotic. 2) You're using Dijkstra for path-finding, right? Modify the algo so that sometimes enemies will take the 2nd or 3rd best route instead of the best. That will make it so that you can get a bigger spread of enemies. 3) Would have been cool if the shots were synchronized with the music. They almost were! =)
I liked the different levels, each was a bit different and offered a unique challenge. The red room may have had the easiest layout, but when the red guys got near you there were hard to see, I liked that. I think sounds would help a lot with feedback, it was hard to tell when I hit someone and when I was being hit. Even simple sounds made with BFXR would got a long way I feel. Good work on this game, and I hope to see future entries from you.
I enjoyed myself while playing, but I did find it to be a bit repetetive. Once I learned that I could kite all of the enemies, it was pretty much just down to running around in circles. A different pathfinding mechanism is needed perhaps? I did really like the song though - it sounded like something out of an N64 Rare game. Shame you have opted out of Audio!
hard to play because i shoot so slow - nice effort
Zooming in on screen quadrants -- cool take on the theme! I enjoyed this shooter, but it's incredibly difficult because the fire rate is so slow. It's fun when you get swarmed by so many enemies and manage to escape. If you increase the firing speed to help fight them off, this would be even better. Nice work!
I WIN! 1000pts! 65 Health! I was playing the Post-Dare Patch and here are my thoughts:
Liked:
- The mazes. It was fun to look at a maze before hand and decide what routes might be best, and what ones should be avoided.
- The drop frequency. Health drops were nice and rare, keeping the game tense, but also providing just the right amount of relief when they came.
- The music. At first I thought it clashed with the game, but by the end I was digging it.
- The HORDE!!! So many enemies. Killing them all felt like an accomplishment.
Disliked:
- Movement speed. Felt too fast and touchy.
- The graphics. While the lighting was a nice touch, the rest felt lacking. Especially how certain walls weren't aligned properly with one another.
Overall fun game! I enjoyed beating it :D
Nice use of screen space, controls were a little floaty but otherwise fun entry, awesome stuff :D
Hey I liked the concept and that starter screen that lets you choose a maze. I found it hard to survive for very long because of the slow rate of fire.
keyboard wasn't working for me on the Web version, and the Windows link is to the Unity .exe, but doesn't have a _Data folder, so I was unable to move anywhere :(
You should be able to amend the Windows download to be a zip containing the _Data folder, so long as you still have the pre-post-dare version still available :)
Too many enemies! Somehow I missed my ability to shoot them which made game so hardcore. Nice concept.
nice work
