Hi, nice game and congratulations ! you mixed the 3d and the pixel art. nice. Simple mechanics that still offered a decent amount of challenge. We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.

I like the concept, and the paralax scrolling is a nice touch. The animations and controls felt a little rigid, though, which made some of the jumps a bit harder than they probably were meant to be.

elit3dgaming 2016-08-31 00:43

Challenging game but very cool non the less. Graphics and animations were really good.

man that guard turned me directly into a skeleton! Really neat game - loved the adventure through time and the ending was great. Falling into pits wasn't so fun though.

colozz 2016-08-31 09:14

A guard got stuck mid-air while pursuing me, I don't think this was planned ahah. Your game is nice, the mechanics are pleasant, and I wanted to finish the game. Good work!

kramchay-dig 2016-08-31 09:24

The game is fine some glitches getting stuck in the edges and there's no audio though but nevertheless it's a fine game.

hackingroelz 2016-08-31 11:10

Nice game! I liked the paralax scrolling and the level design. The jumping physics felt a bit awkward though, and there doesn't seem to be any audio. Good work though!

tfrodrigues 2016-08-31 12:35

The graphics are well made but I really missed some sounds. The first thing I did after started playing was check the volume, but it was loud...
After I got the first clock and was sent to a sand stage, I died after falling into a pit with no visible danger on it. Is this right?
Anyway it is a good game! The art style is very good and the main idea was also very interesting!

nylonica 2016-08-31 12:41

Wish it had some music and sounds, but other than that, the platforming was solid and the art was too!

urielgamedev 2016-08-31 13:51

Nice ! The art is really simple but it works well with the theme. It's a really good start for a more complete game :) Too bad there is no music though.
Bien joué ;)

@AAGH Games @Elit3dGaming @ciaodavinci @colozz @Kramchay Dig @Hackingroelz @thiagofr @Nylonica @urielgamedev
Thanks to all :) I am glad to see that my game pleases some other guys that my family x)
I know the "corner glitch" but unfortunatly, I don't know how to fix it ... However, you can jump when you are stuck, that is the only fix that I was able to do.
Then, yes, this is right that you die if you go into the pits, else, you would have been stuck because you can not jump anough high.
And, I regret to do not put musics and sounds, but I pretty bad at music composition, I think my music would have broken your ears x)
Thank you again for playing :)

hackingroelz 2016-08-31 14:40

@Mathiouza You could use something like http://www.fakemusicgenerator.com and http://www.bfxr.net to generate music and sounds. It's a lot better than having no audio IMO.

Glad to see LWJGL here. Good work was done!
very nice game. level with pursuit is brilliant <3

The game need more sounds (just sounds) and more comfortable player controls. You can greatly improove player feels just by make it :)

Good luck with your project! Great job!

Great visuals! I really like the parallax layers and the stopwatch. However, the pit jumping in the second level was a bit awkward and I couldn't get past the 2nd pit in the part where there's 2 pits next to each other. Despite that, This game fits the theme like a glove. I really like the overall concept.

anaglyphcoding 2016-09-02 19:52

Hmm, where have I seen that font before? ;)
I loved the art style, especially the underwater stages. The second stage annoyed me since the first big fall didn't kill you later on in the level there is a second fall that did. I could never get past the third stage, but I enjoyed it so much that I'll have another go later ;)

jonathang 2016-09-02 21:11

The parallax scrolling was good and the idea of travelling through time was pretty nice. I was expecting to see some dinosaurs in the last stage... oh well.

mathiouza 2016-09-02 22:16

@JonathanG Me too, I wanted to make dinosaurs ... but I had no idea to how to make one, it would have been very ugly x)

good! btw! i update the links! =D

You should always tell player why is he dieing. Jumping in the hole with sand shouldn't be a reason of death because player couldn't know it's dangerous. Some spikes or abyss would be easier to understand. Also I don't really know if you wanted to do this but when player is jumping, he's much faster than walking. Also in second level where you're running away from guard, you have to use jump to move because walking is too slow. In the same level there is 3 tiles abyss where you have to do perfect jumps from last pixel to get stuck on last first pixel of another tile. I really like demanding games but I think it needs too big perfection for me. However I had some fun. Kinda shame that this game is so short because I'd like to see more time traveling.

mathiouza 2016-09-08 12:32

@komilll TBH, when I tested the game to find some bugs or whatever, I really find it easy, so I tried to make it a little bit difficult and I thought that the game was not too difficulty and not too easy. But this feeling was insidious because I played the game literaly since its beginning. I realized that the game is too difficult after the dead line, when I ask to my friends to play it.
For the pits with, apparently, any danger, I didn't make any indication - I didn't think about it, in reality - because, in all the cases, if you fall in one of them, you can not reach back because you don't jump quite high. I though that was comprehensible, apparently not.
Also, you spoke about the bug when the player stuck in the edges of the tile. I know this bug, but I don't really spend a lot of time on the collisions algorithm because I don't really manage to do what I want with them. However, the only fix I made for this bug is that if you jump when you are stuck, you can move again. But I understand that is not the best thing to do ... Also, the hitbox is not restricted to feet, so the long jumps are not hader than they look.
Finally, the fact that the player move faster in the air than on the ground is wanted, but I think the speed changes to much now ... But this is too late :/
Thank you for commenting and playing :) I will consider your advices for the next time I participate to the Ludum Dare / make a game :)
