I love the concept!
I was sad I didn't get all the achievements at the first play because I got the feeling I'm one of those people who are all the time looking at the phone ):

tonypai 2014-12-07 11:29

Thanks for your comment and play, Louisload! Don't be sad, I'm also the one who keep looking at phone all day long, so I want to use this game to tell everyone and me, go communicate with people. :D

tppr2046 2014-12-07 13:58

I love the concept too!!
Let people install the game into their phones!!

tonypai 2014-12-07 14:40

@tppr2046 Good point! Oh.. wait, don't you think it against the subject? lol

broivula 2014-12-07 18:47

I really liked the interface, although sometimes it didn't quite register my mouse swipes! Nice work overall!
Also, I like the message the game has.

alexvscoding 2014-12-07 21:53

Sweet little game.

Thought being able to push the home button and return to the menu was a nice touch.

Initially was a bit confused as I thought he was carrying a gun! Maybe for the first one, a more natural way of holding a phone?

On the second play through, the achievements were stuck on the screen.

Great work, thank you very much for making this game.

tonypai 2014-12-08 02:24

@Broivula At first, I was plan to add swipe gesture, but still want to keep this game simple on pc, so I use mouse click to replace it. Thanks, anyway. :)

@AlexVsCoding Yay! you got it. I was wondering how many player will notice this home button if I don't tell them it can use. lol

Stuck? You mean can't press the home button?

squirrel 2014-12-08 03:20

I really enjoyed the original idea of having the game "inside the phone". The graphics were nice, the situations were fun and the achievements added some replay value. Fun game, great job! :D

burgerdare 2014-12-08 03:36

A brilliant interpretation of the theme. A step far beyond the typical entries this season.

lekochen 2014-12-08 03:48

Put the phone down!

interface 2014-12-08 03:53

Innovative and great use of the theme. Concept is great but - wait, I think I got a text...

jrap 2014-12-08 05:46

Probably the best interpretation of the theme I've seen so far
neat and very readable art
This could be played on tiny screens at an art gallery, as a comment on our lives as seen through the fake lens of personal technology.

tonypai 2014-12-08 07:27

@lekochen @Interface Well, I just want people do more communication with their parents and friends, and yap it's hard for us to actually put down the phone.

@NickMakesGames @jrap Thanks for your compliment guys. :D

fonserbc 2014-12-08 07:35

Really nice piece :)

As said up above this sounds like a game for mobile :P

volkoivan 2014-12-08 07:59

Nice idea for the theme! :)
Also liked graphics!
But sad, that this is just interactive pictures

rjhunter 2014-12-08 08:03

A wonderful interpretation of the theme. More "art" than "game", but I'm totally OK with that.

techblogogy 2014-12-08 08:03

This is just so true to life, everyone these days are just tied to their silly little smartphones. Fantastic job!

justinooncx 2014-12-08 08:36

Interesting interactive experience... Though the third picture with the guy eating food doesn't reset back to the phone on later tries.

tonypai 2014-12-08 09:45

@volkoivan @rjhunter yap, but the truth is I want storytelling more than playing, so...

@Techblogogy Use phone properly is ok, but overuse is not good.

rulrite 2014-12-08 11:55

Small but very well-executed! I really like the concept/interpretation of the theme and think that the game itself is very polished (especially as your first LDJam game).

A mobile version might seem a little ironic, but maybe the message would be even stronger as a result.

caporaltito 2014-12-08 15:11

Nice but more interactivity would be good. The graphics are great and I love the concept.

tonypai 2014-12-08 16:24

@Rulrite Wow, thank you for giving me such nice compliment. There's two reason that I don't want to release mobile version, the first one is it against the subject, and the second one is what @caporaltito said, this game has not enough interaction, so that's why.

kk 2014-12-08 16:40

I really hate people keep watching their phone even when they are walking, and the most unacceptable is that they just keep refreshing their Facebook timeline...

Any way, nice work!!

crazyrems 2014-12-08 18:33

You are not alone, there are apps that helps you having OFF time (understand not connected) with gamification giving you a daily score depending on how many times you unlock your phone, the most used applications and your average time session.
That's not forbidden to publish this kind of game on phones, but there's not quite much content to pretend to be a game.

Anyway good realisation.

nbilyk 2014-12-08 19:44

congrats on finishing your first compo. Haha, yeah, make it a mobile game :D

evergreen-games-ludum-dare 2014-12-08 20:54

Pretty cool but somewhat easy. thought it was a gun at first. definitely like the home button to go to menu. wish it was longer.

ramonparaiba 2014-12-09 00:36

I liked the idea. It is something very conceptual! Congratulations.

kitch 2014-12-09 03:17

Lol... at first I thought he was carrying a gun in the first two screens :) That changed the story in interesting ways. But, finally figured out it was a phone.. and well.. I have a lot of people I know I'll be sending this to. They need to play it.

Good work. Thanks!

mrleeperry 2014-12-09 03:49

Pretty cool... pretty cool. Like the whole vibe, the music, the swiping and home... just a really neat little moment. Thanks for that.

tonypai 2014-12-09 17:44

@crazyrems @nbilyk Thanks guys, I'll give it a try in the future. :)
@EvergreenGames @Kitch Maybe I should put announcement at first, it's really not a gun. :P

zazlo 2014-12-09 19:42

Love the way how simple game could be.

shampop 2014-12-10 00:32

I like the theme and the art, it's a good little game !

There is a problem when you click quickly on the home button, it show you the main menu and the walker at the same time and when you swipe the time don't go down

tonypai 2014-12-10 05:51

@Shampop Thanks for report, I'll take care of it. :)

yarek 2014-12-10 20:24

It's a really good idea. It can be developed into something better if you put the effort to it. Good job :)

drnick 2014-12-11 18:06

I think you had a very creative usage of the theme. Your game definitely should have been longer, with progressively less time to accomplish the tasks.

thopis 2014-12-12 09:02

Love it!The concept is great!I want more :(

intogamesuk 2014-12-13 18:58

Nice bit of social commentary! I'd have liked it if the player's progress through the game had been linked from scene to scene (or branched, maybe, depending on whether you drove safely or not for example). Well done :D

pkenney 2014-12-15 01:55

Thank you for the life improvement. I ride a motorcycle and think this is good safety advice.

Very clever simple game and a good first jam entry, congratulations! Graphics were very well done.

asobitech 2014-12-16 13:42

Love the irony that you're playing this game on possibly a phone.
The levels could get faster and faster with more variation like a version of Warioware.

hippolyta 2014-12-16 20:34

Very good idea and different from other games! Well done!

tonypai 2014-12-21 13:21

@drnick @thopis Here you go! :)

I added 5 more scenes into it, enjoy game and life! :D

jpmit 2014-12-23 16:45

Cool! Great music and mood, I enjoyed it.

jupiter_hadley 2014-12-28 19:05

I included your game in an article of my favorites! http://fireside.gamejolt.com/post/jam-favorites-ludum-dare-31-huv4hmz6

jupiter_hadley 2014-12-28 19:20

Really nice game. I Included it in part 21 of my Ludum Dare 31 compilation video series, if you would like to check it out :) http://youtu.be/onSxxkN9CmE

tonypai 2014-12-29 10:45

ï¼ jpmit @Jupi thanks :)
