LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Talking Heads by ponk 2014-12-10T18:25:00

A wonderful entry! I'm pretty sure I saw a screenshot of this before the deadline passed, and I'm so glad I finally got to play it.

I wish the game was longer, but that's really just me being greedy - it's such a novel and wonderfully executed idea. The graphical style is very pleasing and works perfectly with such an abstract concept (I love the reward at the end).

I hope you'll pursue this further; I'd love to see where it goes!

Dungeon of Jest by Ithildin 2014-12-09T04:25:00

The simple mechanics lend themselves well to a clean game with a clear and interesting use of the theme. I very much liked the focus of the level being 'rebuilt' around the character!

There's a lot of potential for additional mechanics and innovative puzzles, if you ever do choose to expand the game.

1 Screen Hero by zerocreativity1 2014-12-09T15:07:00

This is really cool; it's one of the most polished games I've seen so far and (more importantly) it's great fun to play. You guys did an awesome job! I definitely think you should take a little time to perfect it post-jam - it wouldn't take much effort to turn it into a short but publishable game.

AZOR by Hellequin 2014-12-10T18:09:00

Very nice game! I liked the pressure of the time limit, although I feel that the game could have benefited from less linear and more open level design because of it (in-keeping with the idea of exploration).

Fantastic job with the mood and the narrative; I haven't seen many ludum dare games that attempt to establish such a strong atmosphere.

Chance Encounter by allurious 2014-12-09T15:31:00

A slot-machine RPG is a great idea; I had great fun with this one! If you choose to develop it further, maybe you could consider including some illustrations to accompany the events (I understand that'd be a lot to ask for in only 72 hours). Well done on an awesome interpretation of the theme.

Pocket Contra Force by nodoxi 2014-12-09T16:31:00

A really solid game! I liked the emphasis on 'pocket'; it really does feel like I'm playing a mini Contra. The graphics are wonderful and the controls are very sharp. If I could suggest anything to increase the difficulty, I'd probably recommend playing around with the range of the player's bullets - it was easy to jump and shoot all the way across level 4, for instance, so maybe you'd want to prevent that.

A very polished entry, considering the time restraints!

Spiral Wings by Joe Williamson 2014-12-08T15:13:00

An absolutely gorgeous game, and one of the most impressive I've seen so far. It may be more of an interactive story than a game - but it hardly matters when you deliver such a polished experience. Congratulations on getting this all done in 48 hours - you're very talented, Mr Williamson!

LD scan by NickMakesGames 2014-12-09T04:48:00

A bit confusing at first, but once I understood what to do, I really enjoyed it. The gradual increase in rules/complexity stopped the game from getting stale, and I liked the relevance to the theme (as well as the relation to Ludum Dare). It's a very well-executed game; congratulations!

Don't Stop by AndreasL 2014-12-08T12:16:00

Sharp graphics, and really fun to play. It's difficult but not frustrating, and it's very addictive - I just had to keep giving it 'one more go!'

If you wanted to give the player more warning, you could try making the platform flash before it spawns turret/spikes appear - but I think it's perfectly fair as is, being as you're told that the white platforms are dangerous.

Sales Pitch by kiririn51 2014-12-09T06:58:00

I love the idea behind this! Who can't relate to the feeling of stumbling your way through a presentation?

The dialogue is funny, the graphics are clean (another reason why it's such a good idea; you did a great job making the most of your assets) and it's a very interesting game to play overall. If you go over the text and iron out the little typos, you'll have a very neat and perfect little game! Congratulations on getting it all done in only 10 hours.

Snow Need To Rush by SnoutUp 2014-12-08T14:10:00

Great game! I really like the concept and the graphics are really well polished (the snowman's animations are especially awesome).

I'm not sure what you could change to fix the dizziness issue... I would suggest hiding the bottom half of the 'planet', but I've really no idea if that would help.

Node Alpha by Geckoo1337 2014-12-10T19:59:00

An awesome puzzle game with an easily understandable goal. I liked that you kept the core concept simple and not overly contrived, as the best puzzles do!

Have you considered making the blocks move/rotate a little faster? I liked that everything felt very deliberate, but it would speed up the process of getting everything in place once you've figured out a solution. :)

Overall, a very solid entry!

The 5th Layer by Iak 2014-12-08T14:44:00

Simple, yet very moreish... I think you did a great job with the difficulty, although I haven't gotten past the third phase yet!

Space Roach Exterminator by stjahns 2014-12-09T06:35:00

Such a fun idea! I really enjoy playing in the zero-gravity environment, especially as the debris accumulates... It feels almost like a 2D, arcadey Dead Space (but with more Space Roach Party)!

Bad news, though... I think your game might be bugged. x:

Mobile Life by tonypai 2014-12-08T11:55:00

Small but very well-executed! I really like the concept/interpretation of the theme and think that the game itself is very polished (especially as your first LDJam game).

A mobile version might seem a little ironic, but maybe the message would be even stronger as a result.

Fill the bar by SMASH BASH 2014-12-10T18:58:00

Very nice game; it's worth playing for the surprise alone! I can't help but feel this is a commentary on most freemium mobile games, haha. :P

Puzzle! by nassi 2014-12-08T13:17:00

A great jigsaw-puzzle game. I really liked the quirky music and the humorous image; it is indeed beautiful hand-drawn art! Well done for finishing it all in only 14 hours. :D

Blue Screen of Love by cmdr 2014-12-09T06:13:00

A great game; I really had fun playing this one. I wish it was longer, but given the replayability/multiple endings it's probably about the right length. The dialogue is well-crafted and humorous, and I couldn't help but test out different options to see what would happen. Very well done, guys - Dorothy would be proud!

OhYeah! by Tinimations 2014-12-08T14:29:00

Very addictive! The sound effects, sharp controls and the bullet-time dodging make this very satisfying to play. I feel that not restarting the music each time would help with the flow state, but other than that, I can't think of anything to suggest.

Get Bigger! by admix 2014-12-09T17:41:00

A very sweet little game! The simplicity of the mechanics makes it easy to play but difficult to master, and the movement is just spot on - it feels great to play. Definitely one of my favourites so far!

Remote Control by Louisload 2014-12-08T15:37:00

A very innovative use of the theme and a real brain teaser! I beat it with the help of a notepad, haha. Great work - it was fun to work out the right path through the game.

SPIN-2 by hypnoticbytes 2014-12-10T16:52:00

Very engaging gameplay, solid visuals and a great soundtrack! Congratulations in making such a polished rhythm game in three days; you've done an excellent job. I just wish I was better at maths. :P

Microscope by johnbrynte 2014-12-08T12:30:00

Simple ideas often turn out to be the best, as shown in this game. The audio and visuals make it strangely soothing to play - I liked the decision to hide the timer until the end; it would have added a tension that doesn't need to be there.

A great game, and a brilliant use of the theme.

From Well by Rushout Games 2014-12-10T23:39:00

A really nice little game! The graphics are awesome (I like the pseudo-3D background) and the sound effects made stomping on enemies very rewarding. The boss was definitely the best part, if a little too easy - but I can understand that it's hard to add movement patterns, balance difficulty, etc. in the time limit given.

All in all, well done to you guys! You should all be proud :D

Ragtown by indie4fun 2014-12-11T01:45:00

Fantastic game! It took me a few attempts to get the hang of the duels, but now I'm the fastest finger in the West. :P The timing is super-satisfying, especially when you manage to shoot all three in quick succession. I also liked having to balance the factions, keeping a mental note as I played - although I wasn't sure if I should let criminals in or not!

You did a really awesome job with the aesthetics; I love the visual style, and the music really hammered home the Wild West mood. To make a game that's both pretty and fun to play is a big achievement in a game jam, I think! I couldn't help but keep trying until I got a 'perfect' playthrough.

Very well done - this deserves all the praise it gets.

One Act by Sheepolution 2014-12-09T05:50:00

Awesome game! I really enjoyed the concept, and the entire thing is presented very nicely.

To suggest additions: maybe you could consider numbering the steps on the script/showing the number of the current phase, if you want to avoid confusion. I also think that something like an optional 'end current phase' button would help to minimise waiting. :)

Well done on making a really polished entry!

Snowman's Land: SNOVERCHILL by RHY3756547 2014-12-10T17:14:00

This game is ridiculous, and I love it. :D Landing a difficult trick is as satisfying as it should be, and I imagine multiplayer must be crazy fun.

Egyptian Labyrinth by Logun 2014-12-08T13:37:00

Great game! I liked the idea of using torches to prevent rooms from being randomised, and the Egyptian aesthetic works really well with the concept of a shifting dungeon.

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Bubble Trubble by Jon Reid 2015-04-20T20:28:00

A fantastic and very original idea. I managed to complete the whole thing, even though some levels seemed impossible at first... Some of the wins seemed a little fluke-y (throwing yourself off a ledge and catching yourself in a bubble can get you far), but I think that's part of the fun! You did a great job of exploring the concept.

Dumb & Number by Tipyx 2015-04-20T11:49:00

Some of the levels really make you think... I had trouble with some of the later stages, but felt good when I finally figured them out. Congratulations on making such a solid puzzler in such a short amount of time!

Choose your own title! by jlauper 2015-04-20T20:49:00

A captivating adventure; I couldn't help but play until I got all the endings. The story is very well planned out, considering how short it is (I like that it's short enough to replay multiple times).

Billy McMath Solves Problems by Manky 2015-04-21T17:49:00

A wonderful game - I had no idea that maths could be enjoyable! The voice clips and the images are very funny, and the music is surprisingly well done. One of the best games I've seen so far.

Space Boy by Hyoga-3D 2015-04-20T19:22:00

This is a super-fun game! It's very thrilling to see how long you can last. I really like the music and the visuals, too; all of it is presented very well.

Monster Hugger by jormungandr 2015-04-20T12:06:00

All monsters fall to hugs in the end...

It's a very cute and simple game! The spinning attack was very hard to dodge; I suppose that comes with practice. I like the rolling/movement - it's very fluid.

Just another sketch on the wall by RevelBase 2015-04-21T14:16:00

That was awesome - some of the puzzles were a little difficult (I didn't know you could interact with drawings you couldn't grab, and had to look at the screenshots for clues), but the interactions were very clever overall. I felt very accomplished when I beat it!

I really loved the aesthetics; you did a fantastic job with the visuals.

Your Opinion, Adventurer? by Ossi 2015-04-20T22:36:00

Very interesting idea! I really liked the variety in the text, and the sense of humour.

Natural Weapon by Manou 2015-04-20T21:41:00

I would love to see where this goes! Well done on creating such a great atmosphere; you've definitely got the basis of something really cool.

Vinyl-Killer EP by Shaw 2015-04-20T13:17:00

Very arcade-y! It might be a little too easy, but the experience is solid. Cutting down a horde in one fell swoop is very satisfying - and the speech/quotes made me laugh.

Bagelbot by furriKira 2015-04-20T20:08:00

A great entry! I initially found it a little confusing/hard to play, but it got easier once I'd tried it a few times with a mouse. I can imagine people will spend a lot of time chasing a high score!

The Legend of the Yo-Yo Salesman by seankimdesign 2015-05-10T07:33:00

Nice job! I'm glad I got my hands on a mouse so that I could finally play this. You really nailed the art, and the concept itself is very interesting - I'd love to see it as you envisioned, with the bosses, techniques, extra yo-yos, etc. As it stands, though, the main mechanic is still very satisfying.

Riddix' Dialogue Adventure by Iak 2015-04-21T14:35:00

Great entry! It's a very original idea, and it's fun to make and try lots of different combinations. I really like the music, as well!

Frazzle Dazzle by hexdie 2015-04-20T23:53:00

Very nice! The hover mechanic is especially fun, and the level design is great. The length and the difficulty of the game seem perfect, too.

Her Majesty's Apathy Bomb by ianburnette 2015-04-20T23:44:00

A wonderful entry! How you did all this in such a short amount of time is beyond me... I loved the atmosphere, and the narration is very well done. The entire game feels extremely polished.

Eurovision: world domination through the power of song by Tijn 2015-04-20T22:49:00

Such a fantastic idea. I love the tongue-in-cheek humour, and the music is awesome - you really did a great job!

Crookman by wearehomebound 2015-05-10T07:11:00

Awesome game! The graphics and the music really give a great sense of tension; I liked the decision to have the crook appear only as a shadow.

Bad Tummy Bunny by PachowStudios 2015-04-20T21:34:00

If just moving around is fun, you know you're onto a winner... with a 'predicted trajectory' line implemented, it'd be perfect. I'm not sure about how the game correlates with the theme (can the fart be used as a weapon? I kept getting hurt when I tried), but you've done a great job!

Bear Arms by MJaawa 2015-04-20T21:12:00

I love the humour in this game - the title, the backstory, and the general contrast between the bear and... everything else. The visual style is awesome, too: the 'game over' screen is very ominous!

A nice Day in the Park by Polyganz 2015-04-21T16:25:00

A simple and fun concept executed extremely well! I had a great time with this one; you did a great job integrating the motion capture and I love your sense of humour.

Thanks Guugle! by Kitch 2015-04-20T12:20:00

A very polished experience. I love the humour - I got a clear 'McPixel' vibe.

The animations are great, the music is catchy, and the length seems pretty much perfect for what it is. Well done!

Copycat by Terry 2015-04-20T05:04:00

I really enjoyed this game; just learning how to use the weapons and how to best approach enemies is a lot of fun. You learn from your mistakes and always think that you can do better next time, which makes it very addictive! I love the old-school aesthetics, too.

LD33 — You are the Monster

Devil's Thoughts by ponk 2015-08-26T02:50:00

An interesting idea; I'd definitely like to see it developed further. Your art style, as always, is wonderful!

Monster Pizza by dalbinblue 2015-08-26T05:05:00

Great idea! Those are some expensive pizzas, if I still made a profit after all of that destruction...

I really liked the art and the music, and you did a good job of making different parts of the city seem, well, different. The directions were a little confusing, though; it took me a while to realise that the pizza slices were actually arrows pointing you towards pizza places (maybe that's just me)!

All in all, it really is a fantastic game considering you made it in 48 hours. Hopefully you'll have time to develop it further and add all the stuff you planned.

Something deep by General 2015-08-25T03:20:00

Wow, that's a very innovative concept! I really like the idea of controlling each tentacle individually; it really makes you feel like you're a huge and lumbering monster. Especially when you take down submarines.

Five stars in a lot of categories!

Fishbowl by Mase 2015-08-25T21:41:00

I don't know what possessed you to make this game, but I'm glad you did - it's definitely an experience!

It took me a little while to get the hang of the controls and the mechanics, but it was fun and interesting to play once I did. I adore the art style, as well! The map screen in particular was great to look at.

Child's Play by gty 2015-08-26T00:21:00

A very professional entry! Great job.

Starvin' Sasquatch by GertJohnny 2015-08-25T18:41:00

Well done with this entry! The art is wonderful, and it's a lot of fun to play. The idea of a 'shopping list' of sorts is a lot better than 'grab all the food', as it really adds to the intensity (finding certain items before you're spotted).

The Trial of Tyrone Rex by Manky 2015-08-25T03:47:00

A wonderful parody of the Pheonix Wright games (at least, I assume that's what it is)! I really enjoyed this game; it's the funniest one I've played so far. It really deserves a lot of love!

I think I ran into a weird bug with Stella, though; she didn't disappear from the screen during the second 'volcano' scene and then wouldn't speak when it was her turn, which stopped me from finishing the game. I don't know if it's an isolated incident.

Monster In My Room by TRON.dll 2015-08-25T01:35:00

A nice and simple little game! I like the art style, and it's very easy to pick up and play.

Being a Dragon by Sebby 2015-08-25T01:09:00

Like you said, it's not much of a 'game', but it is an awesome prototype. It's fun just to fly around and explore... I got a strong Starfox vibe from the graphics, too! I really hope you find something to do with this.

taikun by zillix 2015-08-25T23:17:00

A really cool idea! The control scheme is very interesting, and the game itself is very charming. It could do with a little more challenge, as it got a little samey towards the end, but you can always add more if you choose to develop it further.

Gojira-Chan no Densetsu by Rongefilet 2015-08-25T02:45:00

I couldn't stop playing until I got an A-rank on both stages! Wonderful art, and the controls are great.

Kawaii Rainbow Happy Time!!!!!!!! by Clayblob 2015-08-25T00:51:00

Nice job with this one! I liked the art, and the boss battle at the end.

Hero Mate by Lancelot Gao 2015-08-26T03:06:00

You did a really fantastic job with this game! I was pleasantly surprised by the concept, and I love the puzzle element - it's really well done, especially considering you made it in three days. You should be proud of your work!

Intergalactic Love Machine by Slothmachine 2015-08-26T06:05:00

Brilliant game! The art is wonderful, the dialogue is funny, and the entire thing is very well-polished. I wish that I didn't have to restart from the beginning each time (maybe it could return you to the first question of the round?), but if it's meant to test your memory, I can see why it's like that. Great work!

The Troll's Toll by baykush_figtree 2015-08-25T00:36:00

A very powerful game... It's definitely worth playing for the story and the ending alone! Great job with the writing and the narration, too.

It's great that our games almost have the same name! A bit weird. :P

Mr. Yeti's Fast Food by Balzaque 2015-08-25T18:30:00

A fun and professional little game, even if I'm terrible at it! You did a really great job with this.

Soup by JoshDBB 2015-08-26T02:25:00

Obviously not challenging, but very satisfying to just sit and play for a little while. It was fun to try and avoid the purple bubbles as much as I could! Great job with the feel of this one.

Gumdrop Monster by eric777 2015-08-26T04:11:00

You guys did a really good job with this! The art and the music are both very solid, and the sound effects were great (though I did feel bad for making people cry)! The physics are spot on, too; the monster was very easy to control.

Monsters...BRAWL! by A-Flat Miner Studios 2015-08-25T21:21:00

An awesome game; I imagine it's a lot of fun with multiple players! I really like the art/animation, too, especially the wolf.

The Troll Toll by Rulrite 2015-08-26T20:14:00

@garygreen Sorry about that! I can't say I've ever heard of that problem before... Hopefully you still managed to enjoy the Windows version, if you can run that one.

Dragon Defense by Serch 2015-08-26T02:36:00

A tough little game! It was oddly difficult to get used to the controls, but not in a bad way. Great job on the art, as well!

Monstr (a dating website, but for monsters) by plusultra 2015-08-26T03:57:00

A very funny game, and an interesting take on the theme! The writing was top-notch for a game made in three days.

Bunny Inferno by Stanleys_Stoop 2015-08-25T00:07:00

A really solid little game! It's very simple, well-polished and a lot of fun to play. You did a fantastic job on your first LD entry.

There are no Monsters outside by RiaDelva 2015-08-26T04:32:00

You did a great job with this one, especially seeing as it's your first game! I just had to play through it multiple times to see the different paths. The happy ending left me sort of puzzled, but in a good way!

You Have Been Found Guilty by Tommyno222 2015-08-25T18:23:00

Like some have already said, it is a little too easy to just jump your way through the levels. But I love the art, and the execution (ba-dum-tss) of the story.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Dead Man's Volley by DragonXVI 2015-12-15T20:45:00

Amazing game, especially for a compo entry! I couldn't play it too well on my laptop, but I imagine it'd be loads of fun with a mouse. Getting into a rhythm is very enjoyable, and I love the graphics and the music.

Evilator by Dyn 2015-12-15T21:09:00

Nice to see someone else going with the 'elevator' idea, although you approached it in a vastly different way! I really like the concept, and the game has a great sense of progression thanks to the upgrade system.

Sprout Scout's Situation by OxyOxspring 2015-12-14T22:22:00

How you managed this in just six hours is beyond me, Seany. It's very simple (obviously, given the deadline!) - it would have been interesting to see what you would have done with forty-eight hours!

StarNinja vs SpaceHydra by Linkigi 2015-12-15T16:57:00

A fun little game! It took me a while to get the hang of it, but you did a great job with the two-button controls.

Jack and DeVine by eric777 2015-12-25T10:53:00

You did a wonderful job with this game! I love the art and the music (and the name), and the growing mechanic is just so fascinating to watch and play around with - I have no idea how you did it. I'd be interested to see how you'd develop the game further, if you did spend a week on it.

Thankyou very much for your comments, by the way; you're much too kind!

Line/Dash by Eingya 2015-12-15T17:11:00

A beautiful game, so clever and well-made. You did a wonderful job with this; I love the mechanic.

LD35 — Shapeshift

ShapeDriller Company by psychomonster 2016-04-21T18:29:00

A really solid entry; it definitely has that 'one more go' feel to it, especially once you've had a bit of practice. The controls felt very natural (I played with a controller), and I like the risk vs. reward element that comes with being able to go faster or slower. I noticed that sometimes you have to go through a spider pit to get all the coloured blocks - which isn't a big deal, but I just thought I'd point it out in case you wanted to change it in post-compo development.

Overall, very well done!

Colour Shift by voxel 2016-04-23T21:59:00

I think this has a lot of promise! With some balance tweaks and bugfixing, it'd be a really cool arcade game - I could see it working similarly to something like Super Crate Box. The different weapons were fun and unique, and I imagine the changes to mobility would be very interesting in a more polished version.

Great job with the graphics and the sound, by the way. You really captured the arcade feel.

Prince Charmless by Pietro Ferrantelli 2016-04-30T01:42:00

Incredible job, Pietro; very well done. I can hardly believe this is a jam game - I've no idea how you put it all together so fast! It's just so high-quality in terms of graphics, sound, gameplay... Your uncle did a fantastic job with the music, too.

I've really nothing bad to say about this - and you already know how well you've done thanks to all the other comments! You're extremely talented, and you should be very proud.

Thankyou so much for your comments on my own game, by the way - they mean a lot, coming from someone like you. And I hope you don't mind a new follower on Twitter...~

Brutally Shifty Dance Crew by Franklin's Ghost 2016-04-30T02:06:00

Nice job! I really like the concept, and the rotoscoped graphics are gorgeous. The art and the sound come together to give the game a very surreal mood, which I like a lot - and it's all nicely tied up with the message at the end.

Hunters and Hunted by Jadernak 2016-04-21T18:21:00

Great entry! I really like what you did with the theme, and the whole experience was really enjoyable. The narrative kept me engaged all the way through, and the mood is great, thanks to the art and sound (very well done on the map; it looks amazing).

Crystal Mesh by eric777 2016-04-20T18:03:00

Amazing job with this one; I think you’ve outdone yourselves! The main concept is great, and the gameplay – whilst very hard – is fun and addictive. Getting a shape in just the right spot is super satisfying, and I found myself getting oddly invested in the story.

I don’t know if it’s just me who finds it difficult, even though I was clicking and using the mouse wheel… I got stuck for a bit on level two, but I did get better later on. I was determined to finish it, but I don’t know how anyone’s ever meant to complete the Divine Temple! If it’s not just me, and a lot of people find it too hard, I’d suggest toning down the natural spinning of your shape/the floating shapes… Or, maybe assign the right mouse button as a ‘freeze’, locking your pieces at an angle and preventing them from spinning. I only wanted to mention it because I could easily see this game being developed further.

The sound effects are perfect, and I wouldn’t even know how to begin programming the shape recognition, so I have to congratulate you on that. The art is fantastic, too – I’ve been trying to make gems like that for a game of my own, but they’re not nearly as good as yours. You’ll have to tell me your secret!

Sorry for the essay; I’m just a big fan. Thank you very much for your kind comments on my own entry, too.

Slimon Sways by Fanatrick 2016-04-23T21:24:00

Wow, very well done with this entry. The art and music are both fantastic, and the intro sequence was very professional.

Oh, yes, and the game was fun, too! I really liked the shape powerups... It got tough very quickly, though! I feel it could have done with a bit more easing in (such as introducing crushing platforms a bit later on), but maybe that's just me.

Overall, a super-solid game that's very cleanly presented.

Doug's Existential Potato Paradox by Ryan Kline 2016-04-21T18:39:00

An original interpretation of the theme, to say the least! You guys did an awesome job, especially with so many backgrounds and branching pathways... story/text-based games are a lot of work when you're under a strict time limit. The music was excellent, too, ranging from light-hearted and fun to downright creepy at times.

KIT and the 3 realms to Heaven by Catwheel 2016-04-23T22:17:00

A very polished entry, with a sweet style! It reminded me of Okami (probably an obvious comparison, but hey-ho). Though it did get quite tough around the middle with that water/spike pit, I really enjoyed the three realms mechanic going on - a lot of it was very clever, such as the change between water, ice and lava and the different states of the fruits. It'd be exciting to see what else you could add if you developed it further!

I'm sorry to hear you were sick, by the way - I hope you feel better now! Well done on still managing to get an entry in.

(Web) Pyramid Escape by lukethecoder64 2016-04-21T17:57:00

A fun game, although at some parts I felt like I had to fight against the physics - which was frustrating, considering the sometimes trollish level design! Maybe you could add collectable trinkets, or something, to reward the player for exploring the pyramid.

I really liked that the game is so simple to play, and that the rock, ball and balloon were all useful in unique ways. You did a great job capturing the Game Boy feel, too!

Endless Shipshifter by Multiplexor 2016-04-23T21:15:00

Awesome game! I had a lot of fun playing, and I really enjoyed being able to build my ship exactly the way I wanted it. It's pretty challenging, too... I liked the health replenishment system; it kept me on my toes and made finding a new module all the sweeter.

I did struggle at the start with lackluster firepower and a tough-to-control ship (being stabilised was a relief!), but I don't mean that as a negative: I really felt like I was progressing as I upgraded the ship, getting stronger and stronger. Not too strong, though!

Great job! If you do develop it further, it'll be interesting to see where it goes.

Office Space by LastResortGames 2016-04-21T18:47:00

A very interesting entry! Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out exactly how to finish it (I got to floor six), but I can see what kind of thing the game is going for. I just think it's a really great take on the theme, especially with how the character graphic changes along with the promotions: it's as if he's literally turning from a 'nobody' to the face of the company.

Well done; you guys should be proud. I'm sure you'll be able to make things as clear as you wanted if you choose to develop it further!

Shapeful World by Jigosystems 2016-04-23T22:10:00

I'm really glad you decided to submit this, even if you didn't have much of an idea - like you said, it's better to try than not at all! That, and the world you've made is gorgeous - I adore the graphic style, especially with the foxes (aww). And is that a Lion King reference I spot, or is it a sheer coincidence...?

Thanks a lot for sharing this with us! You've got a solid basis for a game; hopefully you'll be able to make great use of it.

Transmorgification Situation by KBF123 2016-04-23T21:52:00

A nice little game! The art and music are charming, and I really liked the sense of humour. It was fun to see all the different interactions depending on your chosen shape; it would have been good to see even more responses!

Dat musclebeast fixing all the problems...

Side Effects by The Mad Strauss 2016-04-23T21:37:00

Fantastic entry. It was a little difficult to start off with, but I got the hang of it - and I like that the constant transformations keep the gameplay from getting repetitive, even though the game itself is very simple. The art and sound are both very well done, and I have to say that I really enjoyed the dialogue/references. very funny stuff (along with the concept itself)!

SizeBlock by MrMegawatts 2016-04-20T18:16:00

Cool idea! It's a shame you didn't get time to develop it further; I'm sure the more difficult stages would have been fun.

ShapeGrid by matiasbontempo 2016-04-21T21:57:00

Such a wonderful concept for a tablet/phone game! I'm really impressed; I could easily see this as a fully developed app (though of course, it looks very polished already).

Great work! You should be very pleased with yourself.

The Door by Joanrelos 2016-04-19T16:02:00

Very trippy! I really like how you interpreted the theme. You did a great job of making the player feel disoriented, and the mood is excellent.

Shifter by sP0CkEr2 2016-04-21T18:10:00

A cool game, and very cute. Along with the charming graphics, the main concept is really solid - and switching lanes, colours and shapes is a lot more taxing on the brain than I thought it'd be, in the later levels! The unlockable themes are a nice bonus, too. Great job!

ChickenMan by meisterfuu 2016-04-23T20:55:00

Ah, the ability to turn into a chicken for five seconds... Possibly the world's worst superpower, but this is a fun game nevertheless! I like that you have to be careful deciding when to shapeshift, even if some of the 'traps' were a bit devious!

I got severe slowdown when gravity was reversed a few times; I'm not sure why. But if it is a bug - hey, it's a game made in 72 hours! Well done, guys.

Shapeshifting Blobs by Spud 2016-04-20T18:20:00

Strategy games aren't usually my thing, but I can easily see how this game could be fun with two players. The shapeshifting into a different type of unit is a cool and unique mechanic!

Shape Invasion by Tchaikovsky Lins 2016-04-21T18:03:00

You did a great job with this! It's a simple idea that's really well executed, with an 'easy to grasp but hard to master' control scheme. The graphics and the music are superb, too, especially for a game made in such a short amount of time.

I know it's a small point, but it's nice that the different-shaped aliens all had a different sound effect when spawning in. It's a great way of quickly conveying information to the player, and it's little touches like that which make all the difference.

Good luck with your entry - I hope you'll make more Ludum Dare games in the future! (Plus - if that really is your name, it's awesome!)

The Alien Who Wanted To Be The President by Anilo Yodea 2016-04-23T20:39:00

Nice game! It was a little tough for me (I think the humans move a little too fast!) but I've never been very good at stealth games. I really like the rock-paper-scissors element with the humans; that was a great idea. The graphics are charming, and I enjoyed the little intro sequence!

Knightwolf by Ironhead 2016-04-23T21:03:00

Werewolf knight is the best knight! Great job with this one; it was fun to play and whilst it was challenging, it didn't feel -too- hard. The graphics are gorgeous, and I like that the wolf transformations are limited/timed - it makes you think about when to use them, and doesn't make the wolf feel overpowered.

ShapeShit by leapyearboy 2016-04-23T20:49:00

A fun little entry! Although I felt that the physics were a bit off - with most of the shapes having crazy-high acceleration! - I really like the idea. I just didn't feel too accomplished when I flew to the end, or over the end, instead of actually traversing the level!

The graphics are simple, but I really like the style... I think it suits the game very well.

Hopefully you'll get a chance to develop this a bit more - I feel that with a few tweaks to the movement, it could be great!

Go Away, Zeus! by Crimson713 2016-04-23T22:31:00

I really love this entry - the concept, the art style, and the humour (that Zeus really was a troublemaker)! It got difficult very quickly, but it was a lot of fun - there's a great sense of tension when you're trying not to be a blink too late.

All of the animals were superbly drawn, I have to say, and the additional details were very funny. You were really resourceful with the sounds, too, and I think they worked perfectly. Plus, having to match up real animal sounds alongside spotting Zeus would have probably made the game way too hard.

Great job, and a wonderful interpretation of the theme!

lorem ipsum by tauntButtered 2016-04-20T17:51:00

A nice and simple game! The 'follower' idea is good (and I liked the trap at the start). I think if you were to build on this game, it'd be nice if the forms had more unique functions - for example, maybe one form could blow the character upwards, one could create a shielded area around the McGuffin, etc.

Split Decisions by NPC23 2016-04-23T21:45:00

It took a little while to get used to the controls and the physics, but I really enjoyed this! The later levels, which showed how all three shapes could be used together, were a lot of fun. I liked that there are different paths through the levels, too; it really encourages the 'speedrunning' aspect. Now you just need a timer and records of the best times, haha.

Very nice work!

LD39 — Running out of Power

Escapade ! by Togimaro 2017-08-01T17:32:44Z

You guys did an awesome job with this one! It feels great to play, and I love both the graphics and the audio (the dynamic music was very nice). I didn't manage to get too far - maybe I was a bit too hesitant to use the jetpack? - but I loved what I saw. Very well done!

Galvanica by icxon 2017-08-01T14:06:11Z

I had a lot of fun with this game! It reminded me a lot of FTL, especially with the dialogue boxes. It's awesome that you managed to put in so many different events and outcomes, and I liked that your options are sometimes limited by what you've already thrown in the furnace (I made the awful mistake of getting rid of my chairs very early on). The sense of humor is fantastic, too - I especially enjoyed the different quips you get when picking up an item.

RoboParkour by Connorses 2017-08-03T17:00:17Z

This is a pretty fun little game! The jetpack reminds me a little bit of FLUDD from Super Mario Sunshine. I liked the challenge of having to reach the power stations before the battery ran out, too - and it's nice that the battery isn't just based on a timer (I couldn't just spam the jetpack).

Personally, I found the robot's acceleration to be a little fast, and the mouse sensitivity to be a bit too high, but I rarely play games on PC, so. :P I hope you get to work on this a bit more: it's clear that you wanted to add more to it, and it'd be interesting to see what other platforming challenges you can come up with!

Moon is the limit by Azargaz 2017-08-01T17:54:55Z

A very engaging game - it reminds me of the old flash games I used to play during lunchtime at school. The powerups were fun and exciting (although perhaps the rocket ends up going a little -too- fast - even when I was being careful, it was hard to avoid the bombs)! Great work: I couldn't stop playing until I'd bought all the upgrades, at least.

DraBot by gil4 2017-08-01T15:49:48Z

Great job! I found the game to be very hard at first (it took me a while to get used to the movement), and I still wasn't able to completely finish a single level... but I really love the idea, and of course the graphics are phenomenal. Very well done!

Battery Life by justinooncx 2017-08-03T17:40:30Z

A very meta idea! I really enjoyed this game, even if the batteries took a little too long to charge for my liking. Rushing to the next checkpoint was a lot of fun, though: it certainly reminded me of the struggles of portable gaming, haha.

The brightness switch is such a cool mechanic, by the way. I love that there are traps you can see only with the backlight turned on!

Blackout by 100th_Coin 2017-08-01T16:16:49Z

It's pretty hard to get the hang of this game, especially with the pace at which you have to move at - but it was a lot of fun getting further and further with each try. I really like that you have to avoid enemies/using your attacks; it's a clever idea. I also love the enemy designs (they're really well-animated, too)! Great work!

Electric Neon by kamikaziuk 2017-08-03T12:59:09Z

Wow, you completely nailed the 80s aesthetic... It's a gorgeous game, so colourful and bright. You did a great job with game feel, too (I saw your post on the front page)! I think the car leaning and rotating helped a lot; it just felt very responsive. You managed to make the driving fun, and if it's fun just to move around in your game, you're doing something right. :D

I think it you were to develop this further, you could maybe look at tweaking the speed: it felt just a little too slow to me, especially with the wide turning circle - but maybe I was just getting better at playing! I also think that the steering should reset to neutral a little faster, when you stop pressing the key - it was strange to let go of A, for example, and keep going left.

Overall, I think it's fantastic and you should be very pleased with the result. It's so impressive to think you managed so much in only 48 hours. (And as a side note: your mouth sounds worked surprisingly well!)

Super Helpful Man: An Old Man Super Hero Handy Man Simulator by Poffle 2017-08-01T20:38:28Z

I really loved this game - it's worth playing just for the sense of humor it has. It's so polished, too, for a game made in such a short amount of time. I almost got stuck on the final puzzle (I didn't realise I could click on a certain item!), but I'm glad I finished it: the ending was definitely worth it.

If I had to suggest an improvement, it would be to make the transitions faster - going in and out of the van quickly became tedious, for instance. However, I do think that the slow transitions made sense in the context of the game: I could really feel Roy losing his powers, and it added to the soft, sleepy vibe that I got from the game overall.

Awesome job, both of you!

Temple of Illumination by Johngun 2017-08-03T13:37:22Z

Great job with this one! There are a lot of things I really love about this game. There are a few things that could be a little more polished (mainly just the spike hitbox and the strange-feeling wall-jumping mechanic), but everything else was masterfully done, especially for your first Ludum Dare entry. I love the soundtrack, and the lighting effects were awesome - they really added to the mood of the game, as well as the tension in the levels.

A side note: I did manage to jump straight past the kill plain in one of the levels, and just fell into blue... but hey! I didn't have to wait long for the timer to expire. I just thought I'd let you know in case you decide to develop the game further!

Plug Me by hav24 2017-08-03T13:13:35Z

Wow, such a wonderful interpretation of the theme! I love the concept, and the level design is fantastic (you did a great job working around the loading bar and using it to time events). It was cool to get a music change when I died a lot, too; it made me feel like I had something to prove to the level, and kept me playing.

It's a simple idea, but it's executed wonderfully. You deserve to do very well with this entry!

Rats will kiss the gunner's daughter by Mr.Houdini 2017-08-03T18:12:22Z

Wow, you guys did fantastically with this one! The concept is fantastic, and although you've spotted some flaws in your design (such as the first question), I think you've done extremely well considering the 72-hour time limit. Personally, I'd just love to be able to see who the mutineer was - I was torn between two crewmembers, and it would have been nice to see if the one I hadn't chosen was the correct one.

Altogether, you should be very happy with the final result - you did a wonderful job with the art and music, and the writing is top-notch. Well done!

Hyper Battery Girl by Deke 2017-08-03T15:49:14Z

Great job with this game! It was a bit difficult for me to play with the keyboard controls, but I imagine it must be super-fun to play with a gamepad. I'm just really impressed by how professional your game looks - it's so well-presented and polished (e.g. the variation in the background tiles).

It was fun just to move around - the after-image/dust effects really do a lot to help with the game feel, and give a great sense of speed. The super-jump felt so awesome to use, too, especially when I managed to position it perfectly - and bouncing on enemies was a lot of fun. The game in general felt very Meat Boy-esque, with its precise platforming and fast pace... and it wouldn't have worked without the tight controls, so you should pat yourself on the back for that!

If I was to make a suggestion to improve your game... Hmm. Maybe you could make the death animation just a little faster, considering how often it happens, and maybe the difficulty curve could be a little less steep... but that's all I can really think of! Congratulations on putting together such a well-made product in only 72 hours.

Suicide Watch by MrJotubes 2017-08-01T15:36:34Z

I really like the concept of this game - such a unique idea. I was a bit confused at first, as things didn't seem to be responding, but I got the hang of it once I realised that programs needed time to close.

Once I'd shut all the extraneous programs down, though, I wasn't left anything to do aside from wait for the timer to run out - which was odd, as I was worried there was something I'd missed! I'd suggest making the time limit a little harsher, maybe: I think a little balancing would go a long way.

All that said, though, the game was very tense - especially with the music you chose. You did a fantastic job creating a dark and foreboding atmosphere!

The positive user by Windclay 2017-08-01T13:22:38Z

Great job! It's very simple and easy to understand the rules, but trying to work out which button to push is a lot harder than it sounds (especially given the time limit). The art style is very clean and crisp, too.

I really like the idea behind the 'favourite' option - I hesitated every time a smiley face popped up. Wouldn't want to miss the opportunity for more power!

Soul Gun by EX3 2017-08-03T15:08:03Z

Great job with this one, guys! I agree that the game is a little too difficult (or at least, it gets very difficult very fast!) - but I know you've heard all about that already, so I won't harp on. I do want to say, though, that you did really well with the overall presentation - the graphics are very clean and pleasing to the eye (I really like the spikes; they look so cool!), and the music creates a wonderfully moody atmosphere. Well done!

LAST INSTANTS OF LIGHT by Kilirane 2017-08-01T17:10:10Z

You set out to make a dark and moody game, and you utterly smashed it: the visuals are fantastic, and there's such a great atmosphere. I like that you allow the player to explore without holding their hand - but I did end up getting stuck - I managed to light the second bonfire and found a third off to the left, but I couldn't figure out how to reach and activate the crystals without losing all my power. I think the fact that I kept on trying says a lot, though (I'm still trying to do it now)!

Great work - maybe, if people keep getting confused, you could add an optional walk-through of sorts? It's a real shame that people aren't seeing all the effort you've put into this - I know I'd love to move further on!

LD42 — Running out of space

TrackBlasters by paulloz 2018-08-15T18:36:35Z

Like many other people have said, this is a super-polished entry, and something that you guys should be proud of. I love the art and the swishy-swooshy animations (that title bounce!), and the music/SFX is also really well done. I feel that once you're able to make the track designs better accommodate the core mechanic, it'll end up being a unique and fun top-down racer. Maybe you could experiment with ways for the track to respawn (either with a timer or maybe an 'area of effect' powerup) to ensure that players never get stuck!

AL - A Choose Your Own Adventure by starvingindie 2018-08-15T19:17:18Z

It's really cool to find a classic text adventure game on here, especially one that's so well done! You have such an original concept for a story, too - I had to keep playing just to see what would happen next (it turns out that having a demon-infested house allows for all sorts of interesting events).

I noticed a couple of spelling mistakes/typos here and there, but having made a text-based game for Ludum Dare before, I know that kind of stuff is inevitable... and with so many sentences to check over, I'm really just impressed that you managed to cram so much stuff in! It's amazing that there were so many animations and pictures throughout the entire story, too: they're all so fantastically done, and I've no idea how you managed so many. I really think it's the best-looking game I've seen on here so far, which is strange considering that it's a text adventure!

Overall, you guys did a wonderful job. I hope you get all the praise you deserve for it.

Gut Feeding by MugenMagnus 2018-08-28T11:29:04Z

A great concept, and a very solid gameplay loop. People have mentioned it before, but having to divide your time between eating and digesting is a very simple yet clever method of keeping the player engaged. I feel that if there had been more time for you to fine-tune the relationship between the size of the gut and the size of the food, it would have been even stronger (as it is, I felt the game was a little easy). Perhaps giving the player an incentive to hit a certain point threshold would be good, too - aside from the purpose of getting a high score, of course. It would be awesome if you could see how well other people were doing in the competition, for example, even if they were only represented by counters: it'd really help to heighten the intensity, especially in the last few seconds.

All in all, I think you did a fantastic job considering what little time you had. I really like the graphics, too... Even if some images are a little rough, such as the background, they still have a great deal of charm!

LD52 — Harvest

Harvest Battle Adventure by Falkreon 2023-01-10T13:24:27Z

This is an interesting idea for an idle/clicker game. I like the concept of having a little group of plants off to the side which grow to give bonuses and powerups of their own.

I agree with others that the planters end up being a little underutilised in comparison to the core clicker gameplay. But outside the scope of the jam, I can easily see how they'd end up being very engaging and rewarding - especially with the possibility of more plants, more plant pots (as a potential upgrade/use for extra coins?), and more interactions between the plants themselves.

Clicker games must be hard to balance and pace even without a two-day time limit, so I think you've done a wonderful job! The music, art and flavour text lend themselves to a dangerous mood, too, which I really like. You get the impression that this isn't an average job with average flowers.

CharacteRiser by alexhonor 2023-01-14T19:50:56Z

Such a fantastic idea, and extremely well-executed! The gameplay was original and undeniably engaging. It might have taken a bit of thought to see the true path to the goal, but for a puzzle game, that's hardly a bad thing. I can see that you had a vision and managed to make exactly what you set out to make. Congrats!

Bas by salmonmoose 2023-01-10T11:53:10Z

Ah, so this is what you were up to!

This a really tidy little game. The gameplay itself reminded me of Charmed Ridge in Spyro: Year of the Dragon (which certainly isn't a bad thing)! The controller support was very much appreciated, as well.

I think that if you were to expand on seed types and level layouts, it'd be easy to flesh this out into a fully-grown (ho-ho) puzzler. Congrats!

Charles, the Bee by Blue Pin Studio 2023-01-10T16:41:32Z

A fun and charming little game! It looks so clean and colourful. I'm glad I was able to beat it despite being awful at rhythm games (so thank you for being lenient)!

As others have said, it'd be nice to see the pollen collection improved/more connected to the dancing segments (maybe spare pollen could be used to help with the dancing, or something), but I did enjoy the nice ebb and flow of the game in terms of intensity.

Overall, the two styles work very nicely together. Well done to all of you!

Frosty Forestry by Martta 2023-01-10T12:20:51Z

Creative use of the theme! I loved the snowy/wintery feel of the game. The title screen is beautiful, and I really like the name 'Frosty Forestry', too.

The gameplay was tough at first - I wondered how I'd ever meet the boss's demands. It did get easier as I practiced more, though, which is a great sign. Knowing when to expect rocks (even if they were obscured by trees) helped a lot, as did moving the harvester forwards whilst the chainsaw was active. In the end, it was satisfying to earn the win!

Well done to everyone on creating such a solid game, especially for your first project in Godot.

4 Souls 2 Reap by Kepsert 2023-01-11T14:13:08Z

Really nice game! I had to stop after I earned the teleport - I watched a video to find out what to do, but I couldn't find a way to throw the scythe upward on my controller (I was playing the web version). Perhaps I'm just being silly. But regardless, I really enjoyed my time with this game. The graphics are very pretty, the music is moody-yet-whimsical, and it's just plain fun to play. Congrats!

4 Souls 2 Reap by Kepsert 2023-01-11T14:29:27Z

@kepsert I was using the Brave browser (and a Switch Pro Controller, if that matters. I think Windows reads it as an Xbox controller, so I've no clue).

CROP NINJA by Bo Dangles 2023-01-12T10:25:44Z

Hooray!

Crop Ninja.PNG

Some of those levels felt devilishly difficult - but they wouldn't have been nearly as satisfying to beat if they weren't. Some of the later levels really showed off the fluid movement mechanics, too, especially with the mixing of corn dashes and carrot bounces. I had an issue with both abilities being 'eaten' if I held the button down too long, but I think that could easily be fixed/adjusted.

You really nailed the concept of a puzzle-based precision platformer - congrats! (And the death sound effects were a great touch!)

Hamburger Harvest by Tuomas 2023-01-11T11:33:36Z

Such a clean and simple game - very addictive. I couldn't stop until I'd made the perfect burger!

I like the use of the walk as a time limit of sorts, and the slight wobble to the tray when it snaps back to the centre added a nice degree of difficulty. Very nice job with the graphics, too! Cartoony and clear.

Boar'd'Hell by Blublu 2023-01-10T22:19:23Z

This game is a lot of fun! Having to keep both vehicles (or at least the harvest stream) aligned is a novel concept, and controlling them at the same time is much harder than it looks. Having to scare away the boars and dodge obstacles on top of that was more than enough to fumble my brain and my fingers, but it's fun to try an get a handle on things. Great work!

Combine Harv-racer by procrasteroid 2023-01-10T17:05:05Z

Combining the thrill of racing with the innate satisfaction of harvesting is a really good idea! I can imagine things getting pretty intense with more combine harvesters on the track, especially if it might lead to punishing scenarios (such as being slow and stranded with very few crops to cut down).

I had a lot of fun with this, and I'm looking forward to seeing it expand past a time trial mode. Well done!

A really polished entry! Well done, guys, you should be proud.

The music and visuals are all fantastic - they compliment each other well, and I had fun wondering who my next opponent would be. It seemed a bit of a shame that I had to concentrate on the very bottom-left of the screen; I felt like I was missing out on the graphics you put so much work into (not that the icons/bar don't look nice)!

Another issue was that the battles seemed to last a little too long... I ran out of health right at the very end of level 5, and I was frustrated about having to do so much all over again. Perhaps I'm just slow at pushing the right keys!

All in all, however, I had a lot of fun with this game. I found myself strangely invested in the story, and I played for much longer than I thought I would. I think it's largely in part to the wonderful atmosphere.

Rex McFury: Public Defender by minibobbo 2018-04-25T18:25:55Z

I'm a big fan of the Ace Attorney games, but I've never had to fight for the defendant like this! Great work, great work - I had a blast. The retro aesthetics are awesome, especially with the bitcrunched voice clips, and the entire concept is hilarious. The little ending screen was certainly a nice touch!

Speeddating by PiotrMi 2018-04-24T20:17:26Z

Such a fun game! I'm glad that you managed to get yours much more finished than mine; it's cool to see someone successfully pull off the 'date whilst being distracted by something else' thing. In fact, I think you did a really fantastic job... It wasn't too easy, it wasn't too hard, and I had a great time overall. Plus, I have to say that I really love the visual style - there's something extremely charming about it.

Great work!

Love Love! Space Attack by Random-storykeeper 2018-04-25T14:49:49Z

Great job with this one! It's interesting to see another take on the dating sim and shooter/bullet hell mix. I really like how you pulled it off - the 'backstory' is a wonderful idea, and the fact that you managed to keep the two games relatively separate meant that their eventual merging was even more special.

One change I would suggest is to give more of a downtime before the dialogue options, or at least some indication that a choice is about to appear. I accidentally selected the wrong option by firing too much... only once, admittedly! But still, I think it'd help to make the game a bit more forgiving.

... On a side note, the C.U.P.I.D. thing is a really strange and funny coincidence! Great minds think alike, eh? We tossed about a load of different ideas for the acronym, including 'Chaotic Utility Perfect for Inducing Death', 'Certified Undertaker Paid for Inflicting Doom.', 'Creator Undecided on Pseudonym Intended for Dare', 'Caravan Unintentionally Parked for Incorrect Duration', and 'Creator of Umbrellas that Perspire, leading to Inordinate Dampness'. I imagine he'd pick a different acronym every time, getting crazier and crazier throughout!

Anyway, sorry to ramble on and on... In the end, I think you all did a great job! It's such a fresh take on the theme, combining two genres in such a different (yet entirely obvious) way.

BREAK // HELL by Incredible Ape 2018-04-24T19:47:59Z

One of the best entries I've played so far: it's super-engaging and super-polished. Looking at everyone else's comments, it seems like I'm not very good at the game, myself (ahem!), but I still had a wonderful time.

The controls are tight, the graphics are solid, the music is catchy and the sound effects pack a punch - everything about it just made me want to play more. It's a lot of fun to test out different strategies, too, to try and find the most efficient/least dangerous way of clearing blocks... so there's definitely a lot of reason play again!

Well done, guys. I could easily see this as a game on iOS/Android.

Vector Rabbits Slayer by thiagowaw 2018-04-24T19:15:04Z

As everyone else has said, the pixel art and animations are really gorgeous (I love the running animation) - it's obvious that you put a lot of effort into it. Even though the gameplay is simple, the graphics really bolster the experience.

I'm sure that if you add more content and polish what you've already got (e.g. the slightly-finicky controls), you'll have something very special on your hands!

Super Hyperspace Rythm Plus Ultra by Kichex 2018-04-24T18:50:22Z

Definitely a feast for the eyes! I really love the 80s aesthetic, and the game itself is like a lightshow of sorts. It gets a little busy at times (but then again, maybe I'm just not destroying the enemies fast enough)! I think with more visual/aural feedback for when you deal and take damage, it could be even more satisfying to play.

Great job!

My little secret (by Rapter and NomadFox) by Rapter 2018-04-24T22:03:41Z

Hey, great job with this! I love the deliciously dark twist - it's surprising that there aren't other dating sims that follow the same sort of idea (at least, none that I've heard of).

I would say that perhaps the 'secret' was unveiled a little quickly, and that the main character is a bit too clumsy about hiding her true intentions, but I think it worked really well: it added just a little bit of humour to what would otherwise be a very heavy game. Plus, it was made in 72 hours... No-one could reasonably expect you to go for the slow reveal, right?

All in all, fantastic work! Such an unsettling look into the mind of a murderer.

Type'n Run by souzanod 2018-04-24T20:05:11Z

Nice job! I like the concept - it's really cool to see an endless runner crossed with a typing game. There's something oddly relaxing about playing it, too, even with the reaction-based gameplay... I think it's due to the cool/dark visuals and the Spyro-esque soundtrack.

One criticism I would make is that the 'jump' command seems a little overpowered: there are plenty of pits and gaps to leap across, so it feels a bit cheaty that I can jump over enemies too! In fact, I don't think I used the 'attack' command at all. But with a little tweaking and more time to test it, I think you could strike a really nice balance.

Great work!

Dog Jam by Teapoly 2018-04-25T15:36:52Z

Hooraaaaay!

Dog Jam.png

I have to say, I had a fantastic time playing this game - it's cool, clever, and the corgi is cute. There's a huge variety of playable cards, which keeps the game exciting and fresh, and the flavour text adds a lot to the experience. Plus, it -feels- very well balanced (I can't tell if it is, of course, but it seems right to me)! Perhaps the secret is to keep your energy high?

It took me a little while to figure out how the stats/mechanics related to one another, and what the icons in the top-right represent, but once I got the hang of it I had a wonderful time trying to keep everything maxed out whilst making my game as good as possible. The colour-coding for the cards was a great idea; maybe it would help to colour-code the icons, too.

Anyway! You should be very proud of what you have - it's a super-fun and super-playable game. Well done!

Black Hole Zoo by Weekend Panda 2018-04-24T21:32:58Z

That was certainly quite an experience! I'm really glad I played this one; it's silly, funny and just a good time in general. It's been said plenty of times before, but the jokes are wonderful. The whole thing is presented really well, too - I think the art style is perfect for this kind of game (not to mention that it's very clean), and the music was perfect.

Great job! Let's just hope that we can all learn a valuable lesson from this: namely, to never open a zoo for black holes.

Flight Deck by Kovakomes 2018-04-25T16:36:41Z

A very interesting idea! I finally managed to touch down after a very rocky flight - I must have had a dragon magnet attached, or something.

I didn't think that a flight simulator of any sort could keep me entertained, but I had a great time thanks to the bright, colourful art, inventive card effects and witty flavour text. It was a lot of fun trying to keep all the gauges balanced, although they seemed a little 'static' to me: my altitude hardly ever changed, and I couldn't cheer up my passengers no matter what I did. I'm sure you can easily tweak this, though, with a little more balancing/more drastic card effects!

All in all, it was a very enjoyable experience. It reminded me a little bit of 'Reigns', which is a very good thing.

Typewriter Dungeon by Jaime Paz Lopes 2018-04-24T19:00:41Z

This is a wonderful idea; I'd love to see the concept fleshed out into a full game. I can only imagine how much fun it'd be with, say, monsters chasing you PAC-MAN style.

You did a fantastic job with the mood - the visuals/audio really set the atmosphere, and the creepy, foreboding messages worked into the text were so cleverly done. I imagine you could use the same system to warn players of traps or give them clues about other areas in the dungeon.

Great work!

Candy crush your own adventure by Hanra 2018-04-25T01:15:36Z

Wow, I really love this idea! It's amazing how well the two genres work together - it's a little strange to play a match-three game with breaks between each match, but I'm still surprised by how well you pulled it off. I have to congratulate you on coming up with an engaging and detailed story to explore, too, especially with all the branching paths... It takes a lot of work!

I really hope you'll find time to develop/refine this idea in the future: it's too unique to pass up. It'd be fantastic if there were accompanying music/sound effects, like other people have said, or even timed events (make a certain number of matches within a limit to succeed at running from an attacker, or something). You could even combine it with RPG elements like hit points and collectible items, although it all depends on how complex you'd want to make it.

All in all, great work!

Mojojo by ZakAmana 2018-04-25T16:49:52Z

A beautiful game - very small and simple, but it benefits because of it. As other people have said, the art and the music are both wonderful, and they set the whimsical mood perfectly. Mojojojo definitely gives those 'feel good' vibes!

READY SET DRESS! by SHINBAXTER 2018-04-25T00:48:13Z

Wow, fantastic job nailing the arcade/old-school aesthetic! I love the colours, and the music/sound effects are spot on. I found it pretty difficult to play - even when I have the turns and the outfits nailed down, the AI always seems to beat me to the punch! - but it wouldn't be fun if it was easy, would it?

As a small side note, it's always wonderful to find another Clickteam Fusion user! It's always encouraging to see people making such great things with the software.

How to Train your Cat by Team Orange Pop 2018-04-24T23:11:07Z

I'm always a sucker for cat-related things, and your game did not disappoint. But even with our feline friends aside, I really enjoyed the experience! The dialogue is very funny, the graphics are great (the dissonance between the cats/dogs and the backgrounds really nailed the silly mood), and the card mechanic was definitely an interesting inclusion.

I feel that the card sections were fairly easy once I'd figured out the right pattern, but I think that's a very minor issue overall. I'm sure that if you had more time, you'd have been able to flesh out the system a little more.

All in all, great work!

Rogueclick by Odward Frenry 2018-04-25T17:43:55Z

I really adore the roguelike genre, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this! I had a lot of fun with it - it works surprisingly well with the 'clicker' element, and I was hooked from the get go.

Part of me feels that the flask upgrades are a little broken: I was on the cusp of death (I think my HP actually hit zero, although I still managed to survive somehow) when I managed to unlock them. From then on I was pretty much invincible, healing hundreds of hit points per potion instead of just ten. Plus, the beneficial effects of the other potions started to last forever, and I was finding them all at a crazy rate thanks to my upgraded exploration... but hey! I think that's part of the clicker genre - snowballing out of control. There's something very satisfying about it, although you could play with the difficulty/toughness of enemies at the more extreme altitudes.

All in all, great work! You did an awesome job of capturing that classic roguelike feel.
