LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Cake War by eric777 2015-04-20T19:15:00

Thanks Tim - that alone made the whole weekend worth it :)

Cake War by eric777 2015-04-22T16:00:00

@zipydooda - I have changed the title screen to show the "shoot" instructions in orange highlight. I think it was easy to miss before.

@Muffin - Thankyou very much. I assure you, any cool styling was a happy accident! I'm a coder without the art gene, which is probably why the

controls are somewhat hard to approach.

@rgehan - my appologies. I wish you could have ran the game :(

@TurboCorp - That's fair. The sound effects went in 30 minutes before the deadline and it shows. I spent too much time on Saturday fiddling with the

terrain generation. Typical programmer blunder!

I have a post-compo version with visual and audible feedback on the thrust mechanic, and this made it much more playable. I wish I'd have added this

for the compo. I also made the candle wicks ignite a half second before launch, so it's easier to make decisions about what threats to engage.

Thankyou all for taking the time to play and share your comments!

Unconventional Guns by rectangular Tim 2015-04-20T16:27:00

Very cool puzzle game, the level designs were challenging yet fair. My brain hurt after screen 9! Very creative and fun!

Skull Bomb by mattmirrorfish 2015-04-20T23:57:00

The good: Looks great, sounds awesome (excellent job with the speech synth), the theme feels like a retail game that I'd want to play!

The bad: it was too hard to move around, and so I was unable to complete it, even though I really wanted to because the vibe was so compelling.

Zipydooda by Zipydooda 2015-04-20T02:01:00

Love it! Reminds me of the bully enemies from Mario!

You are being ambushed! by joaovitorbf 2015-04-20T23:30:00

I liked the dark them and the card throwing. I guess I felt like a brooding magician who was fighting some creepy floating tables. The look was great.

LD33 — You are the Monster

Death Bus by mr.possoms 2015-08-26T19:45:00

Felt a bit like spy hunter. I've never seen a game that reproduced spy hunter's feeling of knocking other cars about on the road. I don't know if you were inspired by that game, but this had exactly that feel. Huge plus for me.

Wished there were some audio. Mass carnage felt great.

Nicely done!

Terror Bird Feeding Frenzy by jwin 2015-08-25T23:30:00

HAHAHAHAHAHA

I loved this game. Play the tutorial, it's worth it to learn the moves and it's not tedious at all.

My favorite bit was the screech, and wathing all the humans drop their food and run. Funny stuff!

Nombeast Jr. by Joror 2015-08-26T15:37:00

Hooray, I can play outside now! I can't wait to tell Bobby :)

Ran fine for me here (windows exe), although I was only able to run the compo version. I tried the newer version first, but it failed to extract.

Cool idea, well executed. Getting used the the controls was tough. I feel pretty confident with thrust/inertia type controls myself, but adding the up/down axis to that was a little hard for me to do.

Graphics were really well done. I also thought it was pretty innovative. Theme was good too. It made me feel like I was Nemo in Finding Nemo, with the overprotective dad fish.

I would have liked to hear/see more terror in the people I nom'd.

Nicely done!!

Raided by joh 2015-08-25T23:05:00

My new favorite game of LD #33. This game did very well at making me feel like an all-powerful demon destroying villagers with supernatural powers. Spot on with the LD33 theme, and nicely executed.

I wish the big death-ball ability (#5 I think?) did more damage. It had a long wait, and it looked super devastating, but I never did as much damage with it as the smaller attacks.

Very nicely done!

The Creature from East Second Street by emmelineprufrock 2015-08-29T21:03:00

Loved the concept. I found Blob to be a compelling character. I played through all the endings twice trying to decide which one was my favorite. I'm tied between the melty pile of Hanna-goo and the unromantic pot of burgoo. Great job on blending cute and creepy!

Who Is The Monster? by Super Hamster 2015-08-28T03:37:00

Ha! I totally went into this game thinking it was a lighty & fluffy game - with rainbows and unicorns. Lol. Man, it was hard! But also quite fun. I got 26 kills as my best. Art was good, the contrast between "cute" and "gore" was great. If I could change anything, I'd suggest a small "wha?!" animation from the guys before they charged me, so that I knew it was coming.

Well done!

Starvin' Sasquatch by GertJohnny 2015-08-26T00:31:00

Excellent game! Great gfx, great sound effects. Obviously stable and well built - always a plus!

Rummaging mechanic was very well done.

Kawaii Rainbow Happy Time!!!!!!!! by Clayblob 2015-08-26T03:38:00

I really like the cute bg art style.

A platforming tank shooter was a pretty interesting concept. Played all the way through the final boss. Level layouts were nice. Great job!

Pedestrian Slaughterer by Linus123xbb 2015-08-25T20:52:00

Running over faceless pedestrians what's not to love? Great graphics. Felt very nice to line up a load of them. I found it easiest to kill them sideways, as the forward and backward movement was SUPER sensitive - I'd crash a lot if I didn't do most of my killing with turning.

Nicely done! Leaderboard is very nice touch. I got 4th I think!

Succubus by ReactorScram 2015-08-26T19:05:00

Loved it! I'm certain I've never played a game where I was fighting flying crosses. Great theme, very creative.

Music had me laughing hard.

Well done!

Hero Mate by Lancelot Gao 2015-08-26T23:16:00

Fantastic game. I really liked the cute theme and visuals. All around an amazing job!!!

Wasted Waters by psychonull 2015-08-25T23:38:00

I'm finding that my favorite games this this LD are the ones where you get to kill LOADS of humans. This one was just fantastic! And different than all the others I've played. I like how your character looks when he gets huge. Jumping out of the water to nab people was very satisfying.

Nicely done!

Forest Monster by Geckoo1337 2015-08-25T05:27:00

Very nice!!!! Fantastic graphics and audio. Plays well. Feels sorta like upside-down missile command? Best game I've reviewed so far for LD33.

Gumdrop Monster by eric777 2015-08-26T03:25:00

Velvelajade: We did not include a quit button, sorry about that.

The game however does respond to the standard Alt-Enter key for toggling between full-screen and windowed, and it also responds to the standard Alt-F4 key for quitting an application. I do wish we'd added a "quit" from the title screen, and also from a Pause Menu.

Thanks very much for your feedback!

Going Downtown by justinooncx 2015-08-25T05:42:00

Took me a few tries to understand how to play. I like this game a lot, well done. I played with a mouse - I can see this game is probably a lot more fluid with a touch device. I kept overshooting the button I wanted when making quick choices! I really like how this fits with the theme.

Audio felt a little repetitive after I'd learned to survive for a while.

Growing Up by Alphish 2015-08-26T00:15:00

I enjoyed this very much. Played difficulty 3 and 4. Did pretty good on 3, but could only get to the 4th screen on the hardest level after a few tries. The snake is very cute. Sound works, gfx are good.

Nicely done - had fun!

Monstrous Spiral of Silence by V_V 2015-08-25T05:21:00

Audio was great. I feel like it matched the mood that your text description led me to expect.

I sort of instinctively though the goal was to get as far to the right as possible. I succeeded, but then went off screen. Then I realized I was playing the game wrong.

I am Become Death by mfagerlund 2015-08-25T19:44:00

I like RTS games. They are pretty complex. This is a compo entry? Wow. You accomplished a lot in 48 hours!

I think I played as far as you can. I killed everyone I could find and explored everywhere. Lost the first time, but figured out how to use the walls to divide and conquer.

I am not sure how this fits the theme though. That's probably my only complaint. It's understandable that there's no end-game payoff, since RTS games are a lot of work! Nicely done!

Monsters vs. Aliens by tweedle 2015-08-25T19:03:00

Art = amazing. Audio quite good too.

On my first play I wasn't sure I liked the slow moon-gravity thing, but after I started getting the hang of it, I really liked that aspect. It felt a little like I was in Ender's Game in the arena, floating around and using gravity & inertia while doing things like shooting that are typically 1G. That was cool.

I was not able to complete the first world. I think I need more health pickups! Also, for some reason left-shift didn't crouch for me at all. Not sure why. I think I might have been missing a key control mechanic needed to do better than I did.

Nicely done!!!

The Troll Toll by Rulrite 2015-08-26T03:58:00

Very fun. At first I thought that I wasn't supposed to grab certain types of people, but then I realized it was when the knight was looking. Very very cool. I had a lot of fun playing this. Music was nice. Graphics were outstanding. VO was great too.

Nicely done!!!

Shark Swimulator by Karai17 2015-08-27T02:51:00

Localized Ludum Dare Game. Holy cow that's cool. Feels like a solid package with title/options/credits.

Graphics are simple but very tasteful. I felt the underwater feel. The sun brightness when swimming up was nice.

I think the diver should be in view when starting the level. It took me a while to find him. I think he was right on top of me. I'd suggest a chomp button for the shark biting the rope maybe.

Well done!

Tentacle Smash by BoxedMeatRevolution 2015-08-25T02:52:00

This is the first game I've rated this time around. Screenshot must have caught my eye :)

Brilliant and original concept. I'm not sure I've played anything quite like this. It made me feel huge like king kong on the top of the skyscraper swatting down planes. Music & sfx were perfect for the mood.

Game played a little choppy/slow - maybe it's my browser? If I could restart without reloading the page from the "You Lost" screen, I'm not sure how.

Great job!!!

Hydro Carbon by bentglasstube 2015-08-28T03:17:00

Hillarious concept. It was fun making the sea run black with crude. I was unable to completely blackout the sea, but I did $82,200 in damage on my second attempt. The game seemed to always know what to spawn for me, which kept it moving and was nice.

Loved the old man gfx with the moving mouth. Good stuff.

Nicely done!!

Tickle Monster vs Suits by dos 2015-08-25T23:51:00

Nice job! I like expression on the monster's face when he tickles kids. Music was very cool - sounded like it would be at home in classic beach movies. Well done!

Curse Those Heroes by FireTwin 2015-08-25T20:08:00

Liked the premise. Unique mechanic with the warlock.

I am Death and Fire by derr 2015-08-26T18:13:00

Hands down the best "kill mass humans" game I've played in LD33 yet! Gfx and Audio were outstanding - totally pro. Particularly impressed by the fluidity of the dragon movement.

I can't think of anything to criticize really. Just a minor suggestion: When flying up into the sky to refill my breath, I wanted to see the visual of myself silhouetted against a huge moon before I dive back down for more carnage. The tiny moon at the far right did not afford me this opportunity :)

Super solid! Way to go!

Jamie Oliver: What's Cooking? by BOBANY 2015-08-25T05:33:00

The game was very funny to play. Too short and easy, but I definitely laughed. Pigs & violins at the end was cool.

The Three Tasks Of The Invisible Monster by hcosta 2015-08-25T03:48:00

Super Funny! I don't usually like dialog, but there wasn't too much and it made me laugh a lot. I completed all three tasks - died once in the first one and once in the last one. Music was really good. Dialog and music were the best parts I think.

Monster Quest by FiveIronFanatic 2015-08-26T04:30:00

I played up to Vlad and died, but man I sure enjoyed it! Hillarious. Also very impressive. The combat system was well done and looks like it was a lot of work. Great concept too.

It's a big download, but well worth it. I recommend anyone play this. It's nostalgic and quite funny. Well Done!!!

Lethally Cute by darklight1984 2015-08-27T02:07:00

Graphics and audio were nothing short of amazing. Totally pro.

Character customization was extremely well done.

Gameplay-wise - I think maybe I didn't understand. It was unclear to me how my customization choices affected the battle outcome.

The fun of customizing my monster and the quality of that experience was enough for me to enjoy the game. I'm not confident enough in my understanding of the battle mechanics to say that my "out of control" feeling was justified.

Nicely done, and thanks for making a cute game! Not enough of those in this jam I think!!!

BlobZilla by baldman 2015-08-25T20:24:00

Very Funny! Audio was fantastic. Screams startled my whole house! Great Music. I quickly learned to eat double fisted. Wasn't sure why people were freed sometimes when I didn't intend to do that. ALL MUST DIE! :) Fits the theme perfectly. Nice Job!!!

bloody tentacles by zuurr 2015-08-26T20:44:00

Very fun. Liked the music - reminded me of the original doom sound track a bit. I really liked the mechanic of flying with keys and attacking with mouse. Tentacle animation was great, made me feel like an angry squid.

Great job!

Motherflipin' T-Rex! by mantis 2015-08-26T18:36:00

Great stuff! Loved all the "Ludicrous!" VO. Made me feel like I was playing UT as a t-rex :)

For some strange reason, it was several games before I noticed the big red heart meter in the bottom left. Must have been me.

Big feeling of carnage. Is it possible to clear the level? I tried several times, but maybe I just suck? If not, that would be my only gameplay suggestion - maybe too hard to clear.

Very well done!

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Kubble by MemoryLeek 2015-12-19T23:00:00

I could not solve first puzzle. BUT - wow, the game looked brilliant, really stands out with it's clean look. Concept is great. Audio was also really good.

I understood the mechanic, and was able to get through blowing up worms on the platform above the goal, but I could not ever figure out how to successfully drop from the left side of that platform to the flag. Probably me not being super great at puzzle games.

Absolutely well done!

Frolf by OnlySlightly 2015-12-19T21:05:00

Fastastic game! Great use of physics and great concept. Sound effects were really good, and the music made me happy! The dialogs and instructs were laid out well too - looked really pro.

I thought of a suggestion while playing. I really like the music so much that I found myself wanting it to continue across levels rather than restart, since the levels were short (a good thing!)

And apart from that, I really enjoy your stream. You and your posse have super strong "good people" vibe - can't put that strongly enough. I look forward to your future LD entries!

Mutant Veggie Arena by Levi D. Smith 2015-12-22T01:34:00

I defeated all of the mutant veggies!!! Does that mean I don't have to eat veggies anymore?

The enemy art was nice. Carrots / Corn were really well drawn. Difficulty scaled nicely.

Semi-Industrial Witchcraft by f7f5 2015-12-19T23:15:00

Very pleasing graphics. Great concept, fun to play and executed really well. Difficulty ramped up nicely. Very good job working with the two-button theme.

Endless Rallye by mnill 2015-12-19T23:10:00

It is always nice to play a simple game that you can enjoy without struggling to wrap your head around. Well done, solid with no glitches, just good casual fun that is easily accessible.

very nicely done!

Legend of Heurgh by Nichii 2015-12-22T02:06:00

Great job with this. The storyline is a good touch. The game felt smooth and well executed. I really liked the choice of keeping the music going between death-restarts - it made it feel less like I was starting completely over even when I was. Difficulty ramped up nicely.

Flow by thristhart 2015-12-22T01:51:00

Wonderfully relaxing experience. A nice break from the all the shoot-em-ups in LD. Day to night transitions were great. Would totally buy a mobile app like this if there were a few more plant/flower types and more music tracks. Music was excellent! Nicely Done!

Alien Buffet by misterwalter 2015-12-22T01:20:00

Good use of 2 button mechanics. I think I'd suggest a time component? I felt like it might be cool to have some pressure on me to pick fast. Good job!

Deflext by Adam Gould 2015-12-19T22:45:00

Perfect game for the Star wars release. Took me a while to get used to 9and I had to give up on my trackpad to control - heh). For a while i was like a severely near-sighted Jedi, but i finally started doing ok.

Audio was top notch. Great concept and execution.

Jack and DeVine by eric777 2015-12-22T16:50:00

Hi Pat AfterMoon - thanks so much for the very nice comments. We used Adobe Flash to create the characters and backgrounds (just rendered to png). The music was created with FL Studio. For coding and bringing it all together, we used the EngineBlack libraries with VisualStudio 2015 Community Edition.

Rockets Hate the Moon by nodens 2015-12-19T21:15:00

I love the concept! Very clever theme, I was immediately sucked into the idea that the poor moon gets no respect. I thought the two-button controls were clever because of the third laser control when holding both buttons. In addition to honoring the 2 button constraints, it had a balancing effect of "you can only shoot when you don't move".

I felt sorry for the moon when I was done. I'm sure he didn't deserve it, but I did have fun!

Desperate Vessel by mr. a 2015-12-22T02:31:00

Took me a few plays to get the hang of it, but once I got it I really liked it. The use of the big arrows in the center of the screen was a great idea, it helped me get back into view most of the time when I drifted off screen. Controls felt good. After a while I felt I was able to stay pretty close to the center without too much trouble. Ran well even on my super-old laptop. Nicely done!

Elevator Pitch by Rulrite 2015-12-22T22:33:00

I enjoyed your monster-under-the-bridge game so much, I had to come see what you were doing this round! Not surprisingly, it's creative, interesting, refreshingly different. This reminds me a bit of the vibe from Sesame Street. Great style. Art & music were fantastic. Great use of 2 button controls. Exceptional job!

The Everything Building by Kepab 2015-12-19T23:22:00

One of my favorites so far. Man, that music! Just soooo good. Great concept, executed well. Was a pleasure to play.

Botany by Steven Miller 2015-12-19T19:42:00

Amazed at how much content is in here. Dialog/puns were fantastic. I also saw you on OnlySlightly's stream when your game was played - you're obviously an amazing talent. I look forward to your next LD 35 entry.

Snowman's Christmas by beetracks 2015-12-22T02:23:00

Easily my favorite so far! Cute theme, compelling motivation to get the bottom-tree ornament some respect! Good use of 2-button theme. Excellent audio. Level design was thoughtful. Gfx were great looking. Game ran smooth even on my craptop. Just can't say enough - top notch entry.

RAGH! by Kade514 2015-12-22T02:50:00

I liked how the gfx had clean, non-pixelated edges. The game reminded me a bit of Katamari Damacy, where you run over stuff to keep getting bigger. I really liked this particular interpretation of "growing". Hud arrows were a nice touch. Nicely done!

LD35 — Shapeshift

PERMUTATE by TravisChen 2016-04-19T05:04:00

Fantastic entry. The work you put into the level design really shows. Excellent concept, perfect with the theme. Audio was outstanding.

Special Delivery by OnlySlightly 2016-04-21T03:32:00

After playing your entry, I'm 100% convinced you are totally insane - in the best possible way. That was the most creative/zany concept I've seen! Controlling the video clips is such a good idea and well done. I want more! :) Does Kyle Lucian ever get his package? I must know!!!

Great job! If you are doing your stream this LD I'll see you there :)

my fathers apartment by emmelineprufrock 2016-04-21T01:45:00

My wife LOVES find-its. I've never seen one on Ludum Dare before, and I'm really glad to see that you made one. The art, music and design of the room are very well done. It really made me want to play more, and so I sincerely hope you continue. Wonderful job!!!

Elemental Shaft by NIGIC 2016-04-21T04:14:00

Good game, I really enjoyed it. Difficulty ramped up nicely. Felt well engineered - smooth and glitch free. Nicely done!

Crystal Mesh by eric777 2016-04-20T22:04:00

@Rulrite - my wife did the gems, and your comments made her day! She did them in 3dsmax, lit fancy and rendered to 2d images that the game consumes (1 image per 2d orientation).

I 100% agree about the difficulty. The controls need rethinking and I like your ideas. The Divine Temple puzzle does appear to be virtually impossible - an ill advised last-minute addition to the progression which didn't need it.

I really appreciate your thoughtful feedback!

PowerBeat by Insality 2016-04-19T19:29:00

Great idea. My favorite mechanic was matching the rhythm to get across the yellow/red disco floor. The curved grid made me think of the Sonic blue sphere levels.

I thought the in-game help tiles were well done, my only wish was that they helped me more with what I was about to face.

Great job!

Beach Bods by Rulrite 2016-04-19T03:24:00

You have a style and personality in all your stuff that I really like. The game was fun and made me laugh. Vocal sfx are perfect - I wouldn't apologize for them at all! Especially the *ding* :) Seeing the totally lopsided bodies on hard was really funny

Super Morphius by RoboNebula 2016-04-19T17:57:00

There are lot of good things to say about this game. It feels well put together, not glitchy at all. Gfx are very good. I really like the vibe. A retro side-scrolling shooter with mech transformations - I really like that.

That said, there were some things that kept me from really enjoying this as much as I felt I should be. The precision needed to just take off from tank to plane at the very beginning seemed too tight - I wanted it to be easier at the start. I'm typically someone who likes inverted pitch controls, but for me it's a 1st-person thing only, and in this game it was a mental hurdle. I wonder if the transformations happened more quickly if it wouldn't make it easier in a good way.

I'm really impressed by the game though. Very good software, and I think all it needs is to make the outset a lot easier. With how nice this game looks, I expect there's a lot of wonderful level design that I missed out on seeing due to the initial difficulty.

Shape Warp by Mordokay 2016-05-03T18:49:00

1675 - first try.

This was extremely well done. I like games where I don't have to obsess about the instructions to just play it. This game was original, yet the how-to-play was quickly self-evident. Great gfx, great music. I did feel the sfx didn't quite match the mood created by the visuals and music (sfx sounded a bit looney tunes, where the gfx/music were more abstract/modern).

Difficulty scaled really well. That's something I don't do well at all, so I appreciate when I see that. There was no frustration getting going, and the harder challenges felt like they were coming to me at the right time - before I got comfortable, but not so soon to be frustrating.

This would have been a great job as a team entry. As a solo entry, it's quite excellent.

Block Dropper by blockdroppers 2016-04-21T01:20:00

Creative game, love rhythmic games - really nice job!

Keeping track of the shapes and the positions both was pretty hard.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Catapoultry by Eric777 2018-12-04T23:28:25Z

@dazzumbledor - Thanks! Once we got the music in, we decided to lean hard on the "super chill" vibe, I'm glad it came across. We were even going to add the occasional "Jack Handey" quote onscreen, but ran out of time.

@sthor726 - We thought about adding a timer, but decided it would break the 'relaxation' mood.

@samuel-fine - Wouldn't dream of it! And a laughing child is the best payoff we could think of!

Catapoultry by Eric777 2018-12-10T17:59:56Z

@ogma Thank you very much!! I think that's the most detailed feedback we've had in any prior LD! Also, I really like the idea of having the lava rise over time to add difficulty. That's an excellent idea.

@ryfi Thanks!!!!! Yeah, it's definitely super casual. We updated it after LD with touch screen support and I have it perpetually running on a shelf in my office. Every time I walk by I toss in another chicken. The beginning is indeed a little hard to tell what's happening with the trebuchet. Hopefully not too hard.

BloodTrail by kruemelkeksfan 2018-12-16T23:39:25Z

Ambitious and pretty great for 3 days! Art and presentation are very good. I wished there were some audio and a goal (like maybe get to the other side of the map alive?) In spite of that, really quite impressive and I enjoyed stomping around the land. Had a bit of a problem where fights seemed to disable encounters forever, but I would just restart.

For my own part, I've sworn off of procedural content generation for LD. As a coder, it's very attractive to me to do, but each time I've tried it I've ended up spending at least half of my time creating & tweaking the generator. In each case the randomly generated content added very little to the experience and I'd have been better off just authoring a world explicitly. Did your map generation work out the same way, or did it go much faster for you guys?

Chicken sexer by willmurderface 2018-12-31T17:52:35Z

Very nice concept and a fun game. At first I didn't realize you have to keep each control stick maximally extended, but once I understood that it was a breeze to control, and quite fun. Well done!

SLAP HAPPY by Ratherjolly 2018-12-28T18:31:12Z

Funny as heck! Love the VO. Intro presentation was hilarious.

I used all my ice up too fast, but it didn't appear to matter? Getting 100% was a fun experience.

Newton's Last Resort by WiredOverload 2018-12-27T20:02:19Z

Very clever concept! Excellent use of the theme. 3318 best. I found I did best when not charging at all and doing only subtle nudges to navigate bullet hell.

Gfx worked very well.

Great chiptune music! I would suggest maybe to have it on title only? And then something more subtle during gameplay perhaps. But that's just nit picking.

Dear GrandMa by TontonPizza 2018-12-04T22:33:30Z

I love this genre of game. Platformer/metroidvania, nice art! Ambitious goals, pretty awesome for 3 days!

While playing, I got about 4 or 5 quests from npcs before I died suddenly (fell down a huge pit). No worries, I just refreshed to play again, but the game apparently remembered me and refused to let me play again (saying something to the effect of "you've already made your choices."). I think I get the "you only live once" idea here, but somehow I must have found an abnormally short path through the game and would have liked to try again.

All around good job!

Berserk by Doey 2018-12-28T00:38:40Z

Wow! I love it! I've seen a few RTS-style interfaces attempted in LD over the years, but this one was really well done. I enjoyed it very much.

I felt it was a bit too hard to keep enough men without blowing all my money in the beginning.

Audio was fantastic! Great voices. Drum-beat bg was perfect. Sfx worked well.

Easily one of my favs of this LD.

Clever puzzles! Excellent idea. Loved the look and ambiance.

Floofs by kaeveris 2018-12-04T22:45:29Z

Best score: 130. Took me a little while to figure out what was happening, but once I got it I thought it was a pretty creative concept! Floofs were extremely cute. The ambiance in the level was great.

The aiming got a little frustrating once the ship started moving faster.

2 day compo - pretty impressive. Great work!

The Grapes of Wrath by StraussBook 2018-12-17T00:28:00Z

Loved it. Sort of like a turn-based robotron? I played it for quite some time and had fun.

Might have been a touch too easy? That's tough because many LD games are crazy hard (usually too much for my taste.) But after a while, I realized I really couldn't lose, staying between 300 and 400 grapes at all times.

Great music and art! And nice use of the theme.

Atomic Lifetime by Kaish 2018-12-05T00:39:57Z

This game would have been fantastic in the Jam. It's nuts for the compo, way to go! Great look, nice design elements. Top notch.

For The Greater Good by Eddie Li 2018-12-17T00:03:22Z

Definitely the most fun entry I've played. Great job! Got stuck on the level with the signposts.

Loved the retro art style. Music was perfect. A bit more polish and I'd really enjoy playing this on my phone.

LayDownLives: Coup Coup by Dazzumbledor 2018-12-04T23:17:00Z

Best score: 53 seconds! Fantastic concept, I love how the hen is constantly reloading my gun. Very addictive, played it at least 10 times trying to break a minute (almost made it!). Smooth and robust, no crashes, no glitches. Very well done. My favorite LD43 game so far.

Jim's Limb's by JoblessOrc 2018-12-17T00:11:33Z

I loved the atari 2600 gfx for the character & enemies. Good music, nice concept. I was unable to exit the cave after a dozen tries or so, but I really enjoyed trying. Sometimes the tentacle was barely visible (rotated?) and would kill me, which was my only frustration.

Laws of the Wilderness by Pawciu 2018-12-05T19:54:52Z

Nice look/feel/mood. The dialog & voice were a great touch (I don't think I've seen an LD game do VO before.) I would love to play more if you keep adding content!

Angry Mountain by Samuel Fine 2018-12-04T23:48:42Z

Very funny concept and dialog, especially the mountain's ultimate demand. Hoverboarding mechanic was fun. Great writing, was a fun experience!

Timestep by taco360 2018-12-17T00:43:44Z

Wow, nice job! Robust and bug free. Love the art style and the sfx were great. Clever concept of sacrificing time. Played twice (lost the first time but won the second), enjoyed myself both times.

Dungeon Sacrificer by Ancalagon 2018-12-16T23:50:08Z

Outstanding entry. Nice intro. Really great music. Fantastic artwork. Concept was really nice, sacrificing villagers between stages.

I enjoyed walking around town and talking to people. Loved the village idiot. First dungeon was super hard (I didn't buy anything for that one, maybe I needed to), but glad the game would respawn me and let me continue where I left off with the dungeon boss. Purchase of the devil sword and the superior shield made 2nd dungeon much more fun to fight in. I was unable to beat 2nd boss.

Flying Slime by gamefive 2018-12-27T20:20:06Z

I like how you are sacrificing parts of yourself to shoot. Graphics look great, sfx worked well. I met the quest goal on my 4th try and had fun doing it.

I would like to suggest that the enemy explosions not hurt you. When I died this way, I felt a bit like I shouldn't have.

Great job with this one!
