Great idea and well executed. It controls very nicely, I love it!

Great idea and well executed. It controls very nicely, I love it!
Crunching through dozens of blocks real fast is a nice feeling. And with multiple enemies it sounds like a cool remix "This is the.." "This is the space police!". Really like it!
The art is super cute and I kept on thinking "I have the pizza right here. Please don't hate me, I'll pay for the damage".
For one round it's fun to play and the music is really oldschool, but the time frame could be a bit shorter because it gets repetitive quick and the target areas are hard to spot. Showing an example of a target area in the intro could would make it easier to get started.

Wow! One of my favorite games so far! Audio and visuals work very well together. Super polished! 5/5
Very nice graphics. Looks very polished.
Great artwork and music! It was fun chopping down dem trees. :-)
One of the best entries I have played. Amazing visuals, especially for 48 hours. Nice progression and the controls feel tight.
Neat idea! The camera angles and the lighting setup a nice mood. I wish you could hear Pacman chomping in the distance and getting closer and the controls could use a bit more work. Overall I really like this entry!
Definitely one of the best games I have played. Very well implemented. The game is challenging but never unfair.
Audio-visually this is perfect! The controls make this game very hard. I enjoyed it a lot and will keep playing this!
Very nice graphics, audio and overall mood. The game is pretty hard though. I often spawned in the midst of enemies and it feels like it takes forever to kill off the skeletons until you power up a bit.
I actually like the floaty mechanics. It makes you think twice about your next move and you really have to observe those pesky jets. Fun game!
Wow, the initial village scene really gave an Illusions of Gaia athmosphere. The platformer is hard but interesting enough to keep you going. Great art and music. Absolutely loved it!
This game is HARD but the humor makes up for it all. I love it!
Wow nice one - the progression from village hero to … something else was unexpected. But when it started I began looking forward to how far you can progress down that path.
I love, love, love this game and everything about it. Very well put together. 10/10.
First of all: Cool to see Pascal still being put to good use in games. It was one of my first programming languages (Turbo Pascal).
The game is quite fun. Interesting mechanic and you made some fitting audio.
My only critique would be that the shapes could have been clearer. I spent too much time parsing the level during my first few tries so the timer ran out.
It's been a while since my coffee reversed through my nose the last time. Hilarious!
That's a really nice puzzle game once you get over the initial hump of getting into the controls. I love the music. It really makes you feel mocked together with the laughter.
Looking like an old television really gives the game some oldschool charm and reminds me of my good old gameboy. It would add a lot (I think), if the notes revealed some story upon collection.
The controls are superb! It feels like a very tight and solid platformer. Great job!
Flawless mechanics and always fair - no matter how often they get me, I always want to try again. The graphics are really nice, too!
The game is pretty moody and innovative. I'd love to see more feedback for the user when I click (or misclick). I often got confused on what to do next and since this is a jam I was not sure if I was facing a bug or expected behavior.
Nice entry! Really makes you wonder how some people manage to do this in real-life to real people.
It might seem a bit odd at first but its a clever little mechanic. It's fun trying to figure out how difficult to make it for yourself while maximising your points. Nicely done!
Wow that's the most innovative game I have played so far. Fun concept, you should develop this further post-Jam!
Great sprites and music! It's fun but very difficult to get the timings right. Solid entry.
Very polished entry! The character is very adorable and the music really sets the mood and encourages you to try over and over. It gets very hard to avoid bombs and bees you haven't seen before at a certain speed level but I guess that's the point!
I miss puzzle games like this one. I played them all the time as a kid from shareware collection cd-roms. This one has a really neat idea. I love it! :)
I always teased my spouse how it's mean of the trainers to catch Pokemon and put them in little balls. Maybe this game will elicit some empathy! :D Great job! Fun little game.
The fresh colors and the relaxing music made the zen mode real fun to play. I have no mercy with those pesky flies whatsoever! One round began with 5 bombs flying at me, but I survived.
Very fun and cute game! The controls feel really nice.
The graphic effects are just like in a creepy movie. I especially liked the one when the street somehow curved for a second. The same is true for the music, it's really creepy. Well done!
Cool but very difficult game. The music really carries the mood. If you polish it up a bit post-LD I'd love to dig in deeper!
5/5 through the board. One of the best entries I have played. Absolutely amazing. Great job!
Ok, I stopped hating myself. Time to write a review. Great entry, guys! The mood is perfect. Especially the changed sprites, music and the glitch effects on Ollie's way back were nice. I just wish I could run a bit faster during some passages.
Clever little game, I like it! This could work well on mobile.
A W E S O M E. I love her! Great voice acting and nice visuals. The controls feel nice too. Good level design and pacing.
And dat kitty cannon!
Very moody game. It was fun sneaking through the forests! I couldn't find the skeleton king tho! D:
I couldn't figure out this game but I liked the psychedelic music.
Fun entry! It got harder very quickly. I felt like my evolution couldn't keep up with the enemy masses. Is there a way to destroy or avoid the missiles? That music is from Jazz Jackrabbit 2, right? Labrat theme. :D
Squeeeee! :D
The tutorial cracked me up. Fun game!
Wow, you managed to setup a great mood with little resources. My suggestion would be to zoom in a bit more and smooth out the controls a bit. Great job. :D
Fun little puzzle game with nice music!
I finally learned how to make friends. Thanks!
After leaving this review I will to go back and meditate on this. *sage nod*
Cool entry! Music, sounds and visuals work really well together. Now, if you'd excuse me. I have to wash my feet.
Such a light-hearted, fun, adorable and wonderfully executed game!
Plays like a cool mashup of GTA and Hotline Miami. I love it!
Fun game! If you made it just a tad faster the carnage would be much better. I enjoyed smashing up the buildings.
I love that little puzzle game!
Everything about this game is perfect. I'll be showing this to my friends at our next tabletop evening!
I liked the level design a lot. The levels feel like a lot of old DOS games like Commander Keen. I felt very nostalgic playing this.
Very moody game with strong visuals.
I like the art style and you put a ton of effort into the mood. Great job!
Very moody and good writing. The music is a bit repetitive after a while (I'm a slow reader). Overall very nice game. It reminded me a bit of the backstory from Leoric.
Thanks for all the nice comments!
@g_o: Embarrassingly I forgot to scale the health back down. It's still at a value I had for some testing, dragging the game on a bit longer than we intended. Thanks for playing!
@Frozen Fractal: The samples were taken from the mentioned libraries so I opted out of audio voting. I put a ton of effort into the music and the audio mixing, though, so thanks for the comment!
@zenmumbler: Those were the mages. I intended the halos to be shields. The mages are protecting the archers until the shield fades. Also you lose all your ammo when you fly through the shield. But yeah, the mages are pretty weak mechanically in the game and you dont really see them. :/
@GeorgeBroussard: I contemplated publishing the source but it's embarrassingly bad. I could upload it, though! Is it possible to add a link at this point? Otherwise I could just mail or tweet you the download link.
Thanks for the hint, VDZ!
We're working on a post-compo version and playing around with a few different ideas. I thought about adding some type of "Armor" that is quickly depleted but regenerates. I want to keep the mechanic that avoiding some sort of damage is unavoidable, but a regenerative armor rewards skillful attack and retreat patterns. I'm not sure tho, because it also feels like a hack on the other hand.
@VDZ: We accidentally left in a high amount of health I had setup for testing purposes. We wanted the gameplay to be shorter than it is now in the jam version.
Very cool idea. The camera should have been a bit smoother or maybe locked? Dunno. Fun little game, tho!
A nice little game. Good graphics. Is the lighting on the ground dynamic? Really nice! The controls are a bit unintuitive though and I felt like the roar needs a higher trigger radius. Other than that it was fun squashing those campers!
Hahahaha! I love how the people run helplessly in circles. This needs XBox controller support!
Amazing entry! I had a ton of fun hunting and I loved the ambience sounds. Very, very moody. Hats off!
The art is very nice but it needs more polish, especially in terms of feedback for the player. I had a bug where the background was shifting more and more to the right, revealing a blue backdrop (Windows machine, fullscreen).
Impressive artwork! Input-wise, the slash should come a bit quicker after pressing. It feels unresonsive the way it is now.
This is super hard. I couldn't beat it but the graphics were very nice.
I so understand why he wants to ditch the princess. I feel like infact she is the real monster here! You really brought across the annoyance of her 'wishes'.
Gentlemen, this game is very impressive! The graphics, the audio, the mood, everything works together to tell a story. I got really immersed in this. I will play it again tonight with a glass of Ardbeg in hand. And I might consider making love to my spouse while listening to that velvet soundtrack.
Possible bug: I'm not sure if this is a bug or not but in one of the cycles the barkeeper says "Oh there is no Whiskey" but then doesn't leave the room. The game doesn't progress any further from that point and clicking doesn't trigger any events.
I wasn't able to play it (only one controller), thus I can't rate it. I still want to say that I really dig the idea!
The music at the beginning really sets the mood and I love the barely-understandable speech. Also the evolving dialogue added some nice replay value to the game.
The chomp attack really looks like I want to take a nice, big bite out of those guys. Maybe I get killed quicker by going into melee, but it's totally worth it!
Holy shit I crappy my pants when the monster came after me. I must admit I didn't get past it though. I tried multiple approaches like sneaking by or trying to get it to the other person but it's always faster than me. One hint? ;)
Nice take on minesweeper!
Very strong in all areas! "Window" management is a bit tedious until you get used to it but once you have figured out your workflow it's a fun little game.
I love the idea of using swooping tentacles as weapons and I would have loved for them to be even longer.
Very nice graphics and dino animation. The camera wobbling really makes you feel like you are MASSIVE.
Wow that dragon is very nicely animated. The black silhouettes work well against the background. The game itself is quite challenging, you really have to time your wing flaps well.
Hahahaha! This reminds me of hours and hours playing Double Dragon with my friend when we were kids. Very funny game and well executed!
I learned so much from this game. I will keep playing this over and over until the lessons finally sink in. 5/5
Oh man I love rolling ball games and yours is very sweet. Music and visuals are very nice and ultra 80s. Great job!
Great level design and lighting effect! The fire sound was a bit harsh on my ears, maybe run that through a low-pass filter or EQ out some of the highs.
And that derpy grin at the end made me laugh. xD
Fun and addictive gameplay idea! Took me a while to find a multiplier I was comfortable with but then I had a ton of fun. :)
Audio and graphics are on-point, too. Great entry!
Very impressive submission. The level design is really good. I was really startled at one point when the hawk's shadow passed over me. :)
Really cool game mechanic! I built some pretty silly robots. xD
The level design was a bit lacking. I wish I could have explored some easier areas before getting stuck or dying very quickly.
All in all a great entry!
This is a fun and addictive game. I'm the kind of player who rushes heads first into danger and the game.It feels rewarding to dance on the edge of danger. The reward for managing it is that you can choose to go to an even more challenging area with more upside. I didn't pay so much attention to the points but how quickly I could become a bird and then how long I could stay up there (not very long usually xD).
If you update the game post-jam, consider adding an easy mode where you have circle colliders instead of bounding boxes. :)
You nailed the graphics, but what really impressed me was the level design. The sense of exploration you get is amazing. I also love how you start the game by having you free yourself from a flask. You feel like this tiny fragile creature in a huge world. Well done!
Fun and addictive puzzle game. Good job on the level design, that's a ton of content for a comp entry!
I like the visual representation and idea of the game. It reminds me a bit of those old games they showed on TV that you played by calling in via phone and issuing commands to the player. Good job!
Sadly I have a tough time with gauging distances in 3D so I didn't get very far.
Simply beautiful game. I loved how the nature changed with your forms. Reminded me of the new take on Giana Sisters. Great entry!
I escaped the chamber! Really nice application of the theme. I like point and click games, and this idea could give it another interesting twist.
Amazing what you did in the three days.
Fun game! I love the look on the dino faces when you punch them. Good work on the music, too! :)
The game is funny and quirky, but I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do and when I should be switching "shapes". xD
Wow impressive entry. I could really feel the heavy weight of the hulk bunny and it was a ton of fun navigating and rampaging through the levels. Amazing job. :)
The graphics and the mood are top notch! I was stuck a bit until I realised that some walls are pass-through (I would have figured it out sooner if I actually got close. There are enemies shooting at you, demonstrating that it's actually foreground).
Great job!
Incredible game from controls, to graphics to audio. Well done!
Great piece of artwork. I was really confused at first but the mood and graphics pulled me in. Good job with the intrigue factor. :)
The idea has potential and reminded me a bit of Bastion. I really like the graphics.
I kept wondering what killed me... I think enemies might spawn directly underneath the player or something.
I think the game would feel and play much better if you gave the player a thrust and slow deceleration. :)
This is an amazing little game! I had a lot of fun reaching the exit and playing around with the best mods for the situations.
I was already intrigued by the mechanic from the get go, but what you pulled off with the level design impressed me! I didn't get to finish it yet, but it's one of the entries I will keep playing until I'm done. I love this game. :)
Smooth controls! It's been a while since I saw a butt stomp in a platformer (Jazz Jackrabbit 2 I think). Fun entry! :)
Great job guys! Top notch entry.. blown away.
That was super creepy. Nice boss fight!
The game looks and sounds really good, but I can't figure out how to play it. I just read some comments and I am supposed to fly to the middle of the screen for several minutes.
The audio/visual mood of this entry is really good but with a bit more stuff to do right of the bat this would have been super fun.
I like this game because the main character has the same fashion sense as I do.
Great idea with the music and the portals. Made it much easier to remember where you are. I wish I could carry boxes or if the drag/drop would apply a bit more force though. Good entry. :)
Fun entry! It was a bit hard to see on my monitor but once you got used to it, it was no problem. Kudos from Germany tho. ;)
The concept his hilarious and the entry is a great start. With more polish and some audio it would make a fun little mobile game.
I like the idea of the game but I might have encountered a bug. When the game told me to follow the arrow I was guided to the far right edge of the map where nothing happened.
Beautiful and charming game and a ton of content, even for a jam entry.
The gameplay feels super solid and the enemies have interesting patterns.
Well done!
Love the music!
Impressive athmosphere ... you really get the sense of a vast quiet but hostile world. The spider creeped me out!
Wow the transformation works really well, I had a lot of fun playing the game. And imho this gameplay has a lot more potential if you add another 1-2 helpful forms and enemies that force you to use them.
That was the manliest thing I have done all my life. Great entry. :)
@QuestionableQuality: Thanks for playing our entry! Regarding the check points, I tried putting one before each difficult area. They work like the Bonfires in Dark Souls, though, you respawn at the last one you used. They can be checked in at multiple times. :)
Thanks for all the great feedback everyone. :)
I loved this little puzzle game. The graphics are just great. A lot of character design packed into a low resolution. Great choice of colors too. I liked the level design a lot. You made it so you only progress once you understood the core mechanic. Nice job. :)
Interesting concept. With a few tweaks it could make for a fun 2-player game. :)
Great entry! Fun, challenging, nice visual appeal. Loved it. :)
First thing I noticed was the cool intro. Great amount of polish, even for a jam entry! The game is hilarious. When I started the game I expected something serious and it suddenly got very goofy. xD I found myself jumping through rooms I had already seen, just to let some time pass to see what my next form would be. Fun entry!
That game is super sweet, you are on to something here. :) I get a real Xenon Vibe from this thanks to the great graphics and audio.
Good game but super hard because bullets pass through platforms and there is no way to hide. I like the special attacks of the bat monsters and the music is really good, too. :)
I love the music and effects. Is there any downside to spam spacebar? I started hammering the button by accident, but found that I suddenly hit all the timings.
I died a LOT but somehow you managed to make it not that frustrating. There is not a lot of random stuff going on, so with each run I could use my knowledge from a previous try. Combat was very difficult.. I couldn't figure out how to best avoid getting hit yet still getting my own damage in. Maybe a dodge or parry mechanic would be cool in a later update if you pursue this idea. Well done! :)
I don't like leaving reviews of games I couldn't finish but I had to give up ... the game is really hard. :) I really like the mood the graphics set. I would almost tune down the chiptune sounds a bit to let the graphics do more work for the athmosphere. Some combat feedback would be nice, too. I had to find out if it is ok to touch enemies in combat by dying. xD But combat is much easier once you figure that out.
Great job on the audio and the athmosphere! The mechanic was a bit confusing at first (I admit it, I skipped one or two lines of your description ;P) but once I finally got it, I had a lot of fun. :)
This game is really moody. The controls are very intuitive and responsive. I love how the game just tells you how you feel and how it influences your decision and perception.
First of all thanks for giving me the link on Facebook! ^^
Cute adventure game. I like your take on the theme, the humor and the art style. I actually like that I got lost early on. A lot of the old games had you wandering around on your own, to figure out how to progress. Good job!
I love that the game is fast-paced. If you work on a post-comp version, I'd make the shapeshifting a bit faster to match the rest of the game. Nice graphics and music!
This would have been a top notch entry for the jam, but this is even compo. Amazing work, dude! Had a ton of fun beating all the puzzles.
Great quality entry! It's a bit tricky to get the jumping down but once you got that mastered, it's fun to blast through the halls and walls. :)
Very refreshing and fun game! Audio and visuals are nicely done, too. Great entry! :)
Super addictive gameplay! I have nothing to critisise about this game so here are all the good points:
- Great level design
- The way you introduce new mechanics and ramp up difficulty is on point
- Great athmosphere
- The levels are short and sweet tactic puzzles that are short, so restarting does not feel frustrating but winning feels rewarding.
Too lazy to finish the list so I will just say that I love everything about this game.
Hahaha. Awesome entry. I love the contrast between the mildly melancholic soundtrack and the humor of the game.
Such a cool idea and super cute game. :D
Surprisingly fun and challenging Tetris clone. I like that you took an opposite stance on the theme.. what is Tetris if you don't get to "shift" the pieces? :-) Fun.
I had a few crashes in the middle of sessions. Unfortunately there are no log files so I cannot make a proper bug report.
That's a really cool interpretation of the theme! The mini games are really tight and solid, too. Well done! :D
Very difficult game but it is well done. I think the spirit talked a bit too much to you still after the first few stages. After a few levels I got into a groove and just wanted to play. :)
Since I love Python I'm looking forward to digging into the source code for this! :D
I recently played all your other games with my spouse and was excited when I found you made one for LD40. I loved the game, it was super cute and a ton of fun. :D Good idea with the toy and having to pick it back up.
Very solid execution on a fun and simple idea. Well done! If it only had sound and some music. :D Also kudos for writing it in C! It was my first serious language after QuickBasic. Fond memories of coding in DOS with it!
Hi epb9000 thanks for the hint! That's a really good idea and I think I can patch that in tomorrow! I didn't think of it in the flurry of the jam. :D
Awesome art style! :o The game is really fun and gets challenging in a good way. I liked the fluid controls, too. :D
Very very clever puzzle platformer! I enjoyed this immensely! Tight execution of the idea, too. The cute and silly music sets the mood. Well done! :)
Hi Krass (ollie_r here), nice game! I'm not sure I would call it enjoyable, more like... relateable. x3 I could really feel it, great take on the theme!
I enjoyed this game. The opening sequence is great and made me laugh. :) The spiders were my bane tho. Having to deal with such difficult enemies right at the start is a bit frustrating. The first few times I tried beating them with the stick but that didn't seem to do any damage, so I just ended up avoiding.
Oh wow I loved this game! Visuals and audio were spot on. The controls felt amazing to me. I love the kinda game where you have to finely adjust the movement. What I loved most is how you mixed snake-elements with exploration so I rated you very high in innovation for that. I never thought I'd play another snake game I actually enjoy, but you proved me wrong, lol.
I loved everything about this game except the learning curve. A few more easier levels right at the start to get used to the controls would have been cool. Very good job overall! :)
Hey Hacksaw! I played your game so much I completely forgot to enter the rating. It came up in my queue again and now I've caught up on that. As I said it's super polished and fun. x3
Fun little game and the execution is tight. The jumping worked surprisingly well. Well done!
Adorable and precious! :D It's perfect.. I forwarded it to my sister who recently had a baby! :)
I loved this cute little game! Really great idea for the snake mechanic, too! I *think* I beat all the levels. After a few maps they started to loop, or at least I think they did. :)
Wow amazing puzzle game !! I loved the music and the cute graphics. Very innovative concept, well done! :) I must say the game is really polished. I would download and pay for this as an mobile phone game in the state it's currently in right now.
Fun game! Without the soundtrack I probably wouldn't have played it for that long as I'm not a huge fan of floaty physics in platformers but with the music it kinda fit and added to the hilariousness. :D
Cute and polished christmas game overall!
I think the "Just okay" item could be cut to make it even more simple and concise. I found myself just staring at the "Best" item, waited for the bins to fill and then quickly clicked the one that had the right color palette. You could throw off the player by introducing items with similar palettes but different shapes etc. if you plan to pursue this idea further. :)
I loved the game! About the difficulty, I gave you more feedback on the other thread you linked to, but overall really polished and well done!
This is the perfect game for a "no laugh challenge".lmao well done!
Very immersive game! I got some Terranigma vibes from it because of the ghosts standing around and what they say to you. :)
I constantly skipped what the ghosts said by accident because I am used to click to complete the sentence and then the next button push would skip to the next line.
Character control is spot on. The artwork is really nice, too.
Well done! :)
