Wow, that stress at the end..
Yeah.. but just look at all them assets we made ^_^ awesome!
Movement was a bit slow, but great atmosphere and art. Nice work!
Amazing graphics
Great game in general.
@LandoSystems Yeah, I agree on the part where you say movement is a bit slow. But it was a choice we made, so people wouldn't just rush through the game, but take their time to look around and so on :) thanks for the input though! :D
@KPapaGeorge Thank you, all the graphix (more or less) were thrown together in 10-30mins each (some exceptions of course) just did it quick and dirty, not optimizing the meshes at all or anything xD I think the typewriter contains the highest vertex cound since it was really quick and dirty.. haha ^^
Reminds me of Amnesia a lot - especially the start. Great graphics. Some crosshairs to show where to focus the camera would be nice - selecting things was pretty difficult for me.
Yeah.. crosshairs would be nice, but it was not a priority, so we didn't get enough time to add one. But I'm curious, did you play in the browser or did you download the Windows version? Since I myself has noted that the web version bugs out some times and shows a bigger picture than the browser is showing, and at those times I've had trouble seeing where the focus is.
Good art work but the game was so slow, I just did not get in to the story sorry, but I am in to the high speed FPS style.
I must confess I did not finish the game, as I found it crushingly slow (your reason to limit the movement speed seems valid enough though, but I really liked the atmosphere. The meshes were very basic and without texture but still created a nice cisual style and mood.
I think the game could really have profited by an eerie soundtrack in the background.
Yeah, the thing is taht we have a soundtrack ^_^, just didn't have time to implement it ;) I can upload the music to the internet tomorrow if you anyone is interested!? :)
I like the art style and you put a ton of effort into the mood. Great job!
This seemed really interesting and I really wanted to figure out the rest, but unfortunately I got stuck. I got the notes I needed from the first room, and I found the piece of paper talking about books being out of order in the backroom of the second room.
My puzzly mind pondered two solutions: either the books in the bookshelf were to be moved around to move the bookshelf and open a pathway behind it (and it sure looked on the wall around it like something was hidden there), or the second best solution, to examine the books in the room in the correct order (read the book on deciphering before reading the book with the previously undecipherable contents.
Of course neither worked, and I couldn't find anything else, so a hint would be nice!
Art is very nice and the general mood, but the clock ticking gets a bit annoying and would probably have been better off as a 3D sound, getting less loud farther away from the clock(s). Bell tolling when moving past the clocks was a nice touch. There was a bug with the footstep sounds tho and they weren't playing most of the time.
Clicking fullscreen only brought me to a black screen so that was not an option. I'm on Mac, so I had to use the web player (it's weirdly off-center on the web player page, BTW; why is that?) in non-fullscreen, but the cursor still seemed to be assuming fullscreen, which meant I had to keep clicking outside the window and reƤrrange the cursor before moving focus back to the window in order to be able to move around. :c
The text above Thomas's book was placed in a way that I didn't even see it the first time (one-sided mesh near the floor and I was on the wrong side so it was invisible and it seemed like interacting with that book wasn't working at all until I tried again later from the correct (left) side).
It seems cool in general, so I'd like to not be stuck and move on, so please give me a hint. c':
Check the middle shelf in the book shelf in the study ( next to where you found the note) ? hmm the rest of the issues you are experiencing seems odd ? first report wwe've gotten of it ? Do you have the latest update of safari and the unity web playe? ?
Agh, was going to give you specs at the end of the post, but forgot! Used Firefox 37.0.1 on OS X Yosemite.
Try playing it in safari, that's where I tested it on my iMac :/
The graphics look good, nice use of color and lighting. Your sound could do some work with simply making it positional... that clock ticking takes you out.
The story feels a bit heavy handed, but other than that a narrative does feel like it exists in a world where events took place.
The web version is the worst way to experience this kind of work, because of either in-frame small screen or bad res scaling. Would have downloaded to play properly if that was the only option, feel like part of the experience concerning the feel and distractions was ruined because of unity web plugin. Good work
It looks very nice indeed but it's far, far too slow.
Any movement was a chore and that just made it unenjoyable.
I made the rooms way too big as well, the movement speed was fine the first day when we only had a small room to walk around in, but it should still have been much faster.
We were so focused on just adding the rooms and stuff in the rooms that we didn't have time to implement a real narrative, the narrative and ending wasn't even finished until the last hour or so.
Also, we never walked through the whole thing from start to finish until the last few hours on Monday.
The speed issue was brought up but everyone was busy working on stuff and it just got lost in the noise.
Next time we'll definitely have at least 6 hours just for polishing. Instead of.. two.
[We can try to get a WebGL version up, since the Unity Webplayer seems to be outdated and doesn't support all browsers.]
Nice graphics. Found i feature that is not in the description while playing - "Ctrl" to get down
Incredible game guys! I went all the way to full-screen to enjoy the art style of indoors :) Nothing really breaks the immersion and all the tiny details keep you in it! :D
Same problem in Safari, I'm afraid. Player is off-center, game seems to assume fullscreen and fullscreen doesn't work (screen just turns black). :c
not my kind of game but the art is amazing. good entry.
I like the textures in the game, felt a bit too slow walking around. But nice!
So the mood of the game was really good. The lighting did a great jobs invoking a dreary and lonely scene. The cryptic narrative helped, too. But man, a faster walk speed would have greatly improved the exploration aspect of the game. Without it, I had no urge to check out other details, because it would be a huge waste of time. Did eventually reach to purgatory, where I was supposed to escape. Happy ending, I guess.
Lovely graphics, interesting game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 33 Compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/t2uXuiSquSk
