I loved the Mother-looking style :)

I loved the Mother-looking style :)
It seems a bit wonky, as Sir Pantless just randomly stops every so often.
I liked the reverse pac-man idea, though.
Cute lil' game.
I didn't get past the level with the waaay too close spikes and the blue switch. Honestly, it's very frustrating and I don't really know what to do.
That being said, this is actually a surprisingly unique concept, the idea of automatically wall jumping little guy is pretty good, and the graphics are charming.
Nice work, could be a full game if you worked at it!
I wasn't quite sure what I was doing, to be honest.
I like the effects you did, and the random generation was nice, but what exactly was my objective? Why wasn't it communicated clearly in game? Why were the buildings spontaneously combusting?
I also felt like I just didn't have any control of the monster, having the jump AND grab button as the same key, as well as a super high, slippery, jump that I couldn't control the height of made the game really hard to play.
It's actually a creative approach to the monster smash game genre, though, and I liked the audio and again - the effects were gorgeous. I just wish you could update this and add in variable height jumps, separate the keys, and add a bit more control over your momentum.
They can't see you in demon form :)
We made the clips ourselves :)
You gotta change the name of your game.
Otherwise than that? I really like it. It's surprisingly free form, the fact that you put in all that NPC dialogue yet you can kill them all is a lot of effort and it definitely pays off.
I really like this, I think it's one of my favorite games in this LD so far.
Good sense of humor... Just a boring game.
The painting was cute, but the tactical maneuvers... I'd rather you do smaller numbers in less time than extremely long drawn out sequences you have to restart. 80 is just ridiculous.
But I'll admit, the well timed last bit before the crash made me chuckle.
I see what you were going for here, and I appreciate the concept. The map theme/execution was nice. The game itself, though, just didn't have much to it. More so, the music kept getting weird and distorted and I don't know whether that was intended or not.
I really, really, liked the atmosphere. The audio and the graphics came together to really make the mood and you win major points for that.
Right off the bat, the pixels remind me of a Game Boy Color game. I do like the art style. The tune is trippy, I guess.....? Does grate my ears a little though. Also, as tullyhansen said below me, playtime did feel a little long. I was wandering around aimlessly for quite a while.
I guess the monster controls like Sonic, with the rolling thing that it does, and it is fun to look at. :)
Wow. This is top tier quality stuff.
I really, really, liked your concept, and your execution was flawless. It really gave me that 1998 feeling, and the webpage (that's a lot of extra effort) really adds to it. I didn't really like punching in so many credit card numbers, which I felt was a bit unneccesary, but it's fine. The conversations were amusing and it really carried its sense of humor/a bit of darkness too.
Definitely the most creative game I've played so far and I'll be surprised if this doesn't get top 10.
Interesting first attempt. I really think you should make yourself only be able to target one direction. I wasn't quite digging the graphics and there wasn't any sound.
This game was an interesting concept, but it's clear you ran out of time. It's incredibly glitchy and very confusing, why does my bull keep going backwards? Why is my bird so jittery when it flies? Why did I die randomly during/before the hills stage (I seriously don't know what's killing me at all.) The camera doesn't keep up with the character and I just generally feel slow and not in control.
The graphics are nice, though, and the monster design for the bull and general scenery was creative and colorful. The village, however, looked awkward.
Overall, it's a nice idea and a good first attempt, and I hope to see more from you in the future!
How do you even do this in 72 hours?
The attention to detail is stunning, the gameplay is amazing, it's incredibly well polished and the voice acting gets the sense of humor across really well.
I'm stunned.
Next time, you need to pick a thicker font and better font color. The gameplay was really slippery, which I understand since you were using Box2D, but if you use Box2D you can always set velocity to 0 or increase the friction when moving.
It seemed the flashlight area was a big rectangle as opposed to the cone as I was caught a few times without actually being within the cone. You should indicate this more clearly.
I liked the graphics, though, and the music fit the mood.
It really ended abruptly, there wasn't much of a conclusion and what there was seemed like a cliffhanger more than an ending.
I like the sprite work for the people, but the buildings were severely lacking. This could've been rectified if you had zoomed in more and made smaller, more concentrated environments.
I liked the character writing, and I feel if you had been given more time this could've been better, but nice work so far!
I liked the graphics and the audio, but I wasn't really sure what different tricks did. The Daytona-like 'oh yea' sound made me chuckle.
However, the insanity mode light effect really hurt my eyes, you should slow it down and explain more what the tricks did.
Now I need to get the image of this clown out of my head *shivers*
God. The sounds. They are so annoying!
And that's the point c:
Now I get why I shouldn't go into IT.
It's nice, but there's been a lot of these kinds of games and I want to see something a bit more daring next time. Don't limit yourself to the obvious.
This game was really cute c:
I liked the little character with his angry face, and the general happy -> dark aesthetic worked.
However, it kind of had a reverse progression. Because of how the rage meter worked, the less there were on the map, the harder it was to kick them off the clouds as your kick kept getting weaker. So the end game basically meant you had a 30 or so and it was a long grind to finish the game.
Nice idea, though, and again, absolutely adorable. Especially the "Poupulation" bit :)
That's a pretty sad game over screen :(
I ended up with 140010, eventually I went down to the bottom and just shot everything out from there where it's stopped moving and was a surprisingly effective strategy for whatever reason.
I liked the music, it was a surprisingly long loop.
The controls aren't standard. Usually when you don't have a mouse, you use arrow keys, as it gives more space on the keyboard for your hands, with your control scheme it was rather cramped. WASD is, by convention, almost always for mouse.
Nice overall, though :)
Wow, these graphics are amazing! This is surprisingly solid and I didn't run into any glitches considering how complicated this seems. Some more sounds would've been nice, though, I get if you were too tied up with other things to really do it.
I like this game, but I just can't figure out what it has to do with the theme. As a little minigame, it's nice and the graphics are pretty good. The music is jazzy and really is pretty cool :)
I like endless runners and platformers when they're done well -- but it feels so austere right now. There's zero atmosphere (no music, no sound, no ambience), the controls feel clunky to me, and the artwork... I don't quite know what to make of it.
Wow, this was certainly something.
I really liked the doodle-ish art style and sheer ridiculousness of the situation the game puts you in. But what I REALLY liked was the music.
Unfortunately, the musician's name in the credits is the only one that doesn't link :(
Overall good job. As with most rampage-ish games, it gets pretty hard to see things when things get hectic, but I never died (got close) and it wasn't all that bad.
I also really liked the little Kiwi egg thing, it really set it apart from what other Kiwi-based and Kaiju-sized games tend to do. That being said, the only other game I know in the genre is Kiwi 64, and that one was shooting for a bit of a different spin.
Good job!
