insane genius. this concept is so original and well-executed.

insane genius. this concept is so original and well-executed.
It is really adorable, I think this would be great on the app store as it has all the right touches for a mobile casual game, but faster speed (like if you could just move without much pause at all) would be nice. Love the graphics.
LOVE the graphics. blade runner pottery! Great audio and atmosphere too, and the idea is very original. wish there was mouse or touch support though as it takes so much time to change tools, look up patterns etc. could totally see this being a phone hit. Great concept.
I think it's a clever idea, and I like the idea of online guesses (agree it would make a good mobile game). However pulling the nodes is a bit painful with a mouse, might be that there are a lot of nodes and it takes quite a long time to create a shape. Maybe it would be better if there were pictures next to the board instead of prompting a google search? I think this would work well on a phone with zooming available (otherwise I can see the nodes being really hard to move around on that scale of screen). Very innovative.
Cute idea! I love how the wanted poster popped up.
Great retro feel! the shapeshifting idea of using combo keys is clever, this could be quite the hit if made more accessible! (could show onscreen which combo to use for the first few instances then let the player refer to the page after that maybe).
Terrifying take on not being actually able to see what's happening to yourself! I'm stuck, but I thought the concept was very clever.
PS Why isn't there a rating available for innovation?
updated for innovation :) cheers!
Nice work making a card game in 48 hours, it was fun!
Haha, this is excellent. Although I seem to be stuck in an infinite loop where octopuses chase me down and hunt me to my death... and there doesn't seem to be any escape. Totally can't find the giant blue one!
this is awesome! Although I think I almost broke my spacebar, haha. Please turn it into a full RPG. :)
hilarious. and I am so terrible at this game :) Nice graphic style, especially the sprites!
nice graphics/style, I actually think the concept of a split-screen clicker's pretty interesting. you should add a short explanation/tutorial though! :)
Gorgeous lighting and atmosphere! Feels really polished.
I like the quiet/introspective games just as much if not more than the action-based ones. Especially the ones that have really original takes on the theme given. Great entry.
tetris in space?! I had to. :) really interesting concept!
tetris in space?! I had to. :) really interesting concept! Great style.
nice geometric visuals, I think the movement would feel better if it had less of a animation pause on it :) Love the isometric presentation though!
Really good, it neeeeds to be a phone game for sure (tapping mechanic would be perfect for the mirror game which I find really difficult with a mouse) :)
I like this insane reaction game! Maybe it would ramp up less punishingly if there were less boxes to shapeshift in the beginning.
this makes me want to make a Pico 8 game. I thought it was adorable and a nice take on the theme. Wish it was longer too!
Really like this one, nice Victorian-ish style. Original take on match-3, where you DON'T want to make too many random chains. .........argh, I just read the comments and didn't realise you could move vertically either. oh well, still beat hard mode, haha!
The voice acting and graphics on the main character are great. Platforming is frustrating though, the hang time on the jump is just too long and it's really hard to control.
seriously, 48h?! unbelievable! I had just assumed this was a jam entry from the screenshots alone. great lighting, love the paper particles, excellent (and yes why no humour to vote on?)
SUPER innovative. Also terrifying in the dark with headphones on, haha.
The Brotherhood is not doing well and it's all my fault...
The map movement is awesome, really liked that concept! Like the wistful audio too. Map effects like wind particles, smoke/fog would look really cool -- hoping for post-jam updates!
this is awesome, I love the sound design and visual feel. The atmosphere is very well-realised -- and the looping concept is genius.
Fabulous art! Really clever gameplay too.
very nice graphics and interpretation of the theme, haha. laughed at the farmer's comments!
the giant monsters -- great idea for amping up the OCD terror :) 'MUST HARVEST MORE' 'ARGH GIANT EYE'. I found this game frighteningly compelling!
Whoa, not only did the WIP shots with hands crack me up on twitter, but the game itself turned out amazing! Such an original idea.
Nice idea, great clean presentation! Would be perfect for phones and touchscreens.
aww man the cats are SO cute. Nice being able to stretch them and so on. Really difficult despite the cuteness!
this is hilariously awesome! for post-compo version I request "speed boost' so you can walk faster. :) awesome entry!
Really original mechanic, would love to see a full game based on this!
Shoot, I really wanted to try this one but I can't move anywhere or do anything! Tried endless and play mode. I never see a tutorial pop up or anything.
Visuals are so unique. I would love to spend more time in this gorgeous world.
haha, just wow! I laughed so hard at some of the stuff that came out.
Cute game, the jumping mechanics are too difficult though. Couldn't make it past level 2.
whoa, really cool idea!
I got out, but didn't save any of my pink butterfly friends :) Excellent entry, really impressed with the setting and what was achieved in such a short frame of time!
Whoa, awesomely trippy! The mechanic of attacking automatically on the beat is great. The visual style is nice but the glitching is a bit strong/large maybe? the cow game is hilarious btw! Can't believe that was all made in the jam.
Simply hilarious. The scanlines/warped-tv effect really add to the visuals.
The core mechanic and enemy movement works very well. Would be nice expanded to a series of rooms you had to escape.
Really nailed the retro aesthetic. I like how there were just enough clues left to be able to search around and figure out where to go after unlocking the first form without being too obvious.
Love the presentation! Why is graphics not a thing I can vote on?
Nicely on theme. I like that the text in the locations changes depending what form you're in even if it's not the one that solves the puzzle. The navigation is confusing though, would be better if those circular doors were just hallways.
Love the concept. It's a bit tricky to keep track of who is who, but I got lucky with the killer trying to use the name of the murder victim quite early.
Great pixel art!
Very cute blocks.
It's really cute! I had to find someone to play with me, haha. The kind of game that leads to real-life violence... I like how you can be fat/small even on the results screen. BTW, thanks for letting us know about the android issue -- I've been told just tapping or double-tapping on the pluto planet tear will get you into the game :) Sorry about that!
Maybe you don't need solo mode as much as online multiplayer:) i'd love to kill more of my friends haha :) Mobile release??! :)
PS, thanks for the kind comments and for giving our Android build another shot!:) Glad it worked for you!
The art for this is great, the audio too (although that alarm horn really is loud, almost gave me cardiac arrest the first time haha). Would play a longer game with this style too.
bahaha what a hilarious and original idea! destroying those kids was very satisfying. I think I didn't quite understand how to use the walking dead/blood geysers? They never seemed to activate, I wondered if I was meant to move them around. I played this quite a bit, great entry.
novel whistling idea, I really liked that aspect. I hope in post-compo it's developed more as I'd love to come back and play it! maybe a chart for the notes that you can pull up in-game. and checkpoints as I died a LOT. :) Great atmosphere too!
Nice, tetraminoes! I agree keyboard controls would really be a good idea for desktop. might have improved my sad 125s score, haha. 'wait, what?' felt pretty satisfying. :)
that is a hilarious concept! Awesome little game :) I like the wry text. :) Also... zapping fireflies is kind of satisfying ;p
Original and cute! Flying around in the red light beams was fun. Frog form a little hard to control.
that 3D-glasses-ish effect is really compelling! Great graphics.
It's a really fun concept! I am pretty sure I should not have been scored as high as a B grade though :) I like the factory setting and the belt, nice :) Great entry!
Very cute! Being able to change the shape of parts like the ears is really nicely done.
Nice twist on the tower defence genre. Could use some explanation about what the strengths and weakness of the enemy tower types were, was never really sure when shapeshifting was a good idea.
Cute! I think maybe moving the healthbar so it doesn't seem to be falling off the top corner of the screen might help, it was actually quite hard to notice at first. And a death animation or screen could be nice :) I think removing the repeating ticking noise would greatly improve the music too, which is actually not bad! The animations were very nice, impressed for the short amount of time. Incidentally when the skeletons are at the bell, they often just get stuck on the platform, so I could just run up and poke them.
Aww, I wanted to try this! the characters at the top left have very cute portraits. I get stuck in the screen at the back of the house, so I can't rate it yet -- shapeshifting doesn't seem to work for me :) Will be good to see after bugs are fixed :)
Cute idea!
I like seeing what unusual interpretations people come up with for the theme, this is a very original take on the idea. I have a major thing for clouds too :) It's strangely relaxing! I think one suggestion is that when you blow the clouds, the circular edge is pretty hard-edged. A blurrier edge might match the feel of the clouds better. :)
PS, thanks for your kind comments! Will ask the organizer about the audio entry :)
Naca: yeah I love ideas that are unconventional, esp when there are so many 'straightforward' takes on 'shapeshifting'. It's great to see something original :) (also we're prototyping a raincloud game, so yeah we really do like clouds haha (very different in approach!))
You could expand this idea into sculpting clouds on your phone by blowing into the microphone, perhaps?
BTW, added the audio category after discussing with Mike. Thanks for the encouragement on the issue :)
Thanks sooo much! :) Please keep making more! The best part of LD for me is all the crazy imaginative stuff that comes out of it:) Should be taking part in the next one too, as I think our little team really grew a lot from doing this (first-time games jam too). PS, you should connect on twitter if you have it :) Cheers!
Very impressive concept. Definitely coming back to play post-compo version!
I found it really soothing to just flap around and lay eggs everywhere. Love the game of life sort of ambience, really nice take on the theme. Great entry.
Very silly, in a good way.
The OS X build is crashing on startup with a 'quit unexpectedly' error.
Nice random map generation. Lots of potential here, it just needs some work on the combat system. Swinging the sword feels extremely slow and I seem to get stunlocked to death by level 1 enemies.
I could see this being really fun with an opponent! Handled nicely.
love the painted style! I kept getting stuck on the bit after the start (when you have to rise up). I think if the waiting and the movement were sped up it would help the gameplay a lot. Great art, lovely presentation.
Really like that the main benefit of transforming into the raven is to get a better point of view, that's a nice idea. Raven seems to get stuck in the geometry quite a bit for some reason though.
Was unable to download the OSX build from the google drive link
Oh wow, I love the graphic style and the presentation is really slick. the flashing could be toned down a lot (I could not play adrenaline) :) Would be cool to see shape rotation as another thing you have to match up? I agree that this would make a great mobile game. Thanks for your kind review btw!
freezing the space is a neat concept!
fantastic visuals and mood. I was confused by the height and couldn't always tell how high I had to jump -- maybe some kind of indicator or range would help? Looks great though!
nice! i was not completely sure what the rules for moving certain rows were (like #7). kind of glad there's no move counter. :) cool take on the theme.
Very well-written, really liked how the 'shape' of the tale changed as you progressed. Great take on the theme. Would have liked to have a checkpoint or 'undo' somewhere so you didn't have to restart all the way to explore different endings, but a very enjoyable entry. Still played all the endings :)
It's a nice, clean design. I think I was totally playing it not how it was meant to be played, because I would basically pick up a node and use the node to nudge the molecule to where I wanted it to go (without releasing the node). Then I went back and read the rules again, oops. So basically I never pressed spacebar... Nice idea though!
Found this really fun! Also the start screen is very attractive, and was why I intitially clicked this one to rate. Slight lag when placing blocks. I would looove to play this on my phone with friends, please port it. :)
Nice concept, changing mid-jump totally threw me for a loop at first!
the shifting effect on the blocks is really well done! for me, rotation is really hard to deal with because it's hard to see the shape in the board with the pieces being on top of it. That would probably be an easy fix :) I like that you can pretty much just try again without a pause to start a new game. You really nailed that 'transformation' effect, it feels amazingly satisfying to switch shapes!
Wow, what a cool concept. I died... over and over again, haha! Love to see people making something totally far-out!
whoa, @bwalter, thanks a tonne! :) we're all exhausted now :)
@falloneus so glad you liked it! thanks for the kind words! :)
thanks for the kind comments all! Really appreciate it. Agreed on a lot of suggestions, we'll release another build post-jam :)
@tentacode: Sorry about that. Maybe try tapping the tear instead? What kind of device did you use? It runs on a few devices as I've been told so far, I promise. :)
thanks all! :) we had to choose between size of planets and order of planets for the HUD because of time constraints (ie, panic) and went with size so that people could see which planet they should aim to eat next. kinda figured people would be less likely to know sizes than positions -- not sure :) minimap was going to go in, but ... ran out of time :) POST-JAM VERSION! :D
whoa, thanks very much for all the support! Really appreciated :) We'll add it on indiexpo :) Also, thanks for the let's play!

Fantastic style, really well-thought out, and the posing works just right. 24h? Amazing! It looks very polished. I think a version where you had other people also trying to match the pose would be great (they could be different colours on your screen so everyone else can laugh at what people create)!
It's SUPER cute, I could see this working really well on a phone game (looks like it's laid out that way already)! Competitive mode too maybe? :)
I really liked this! lots of tries playing and still haven't beaten the game argh :) timing comes naturally from the building anims which is a smart idea.
the idea is really original. I think this game would actually work really well as a typing game and not just a statement piece! Hoping you develop it more post-jam! Nice pixel art.
hahah, i love this idea. nice presentation and great mood! would be great on a phone with some tweaking of the controls, you should release a version for that! thanks!:)
Fun concept! The use of rock, paper and scissors was a great idea for the competition, since the player instinctively knows the interactions. Enemies do get stuck on each other a lot, though.
