You are a killer by FrederickK 2013-08-26T14:05:00

It's a neat idea, weaselling yourself out of a life or death situation. This needs some work though, the questions are a bit too obvious and clicking as an input method is slow.

There is also a bug if you click before the text has finished animating in, it seems to mix the two test streams together.

Asides from that, I'd take this concept further, it could make a neat adventure game scene.

7Tulips by pinkmonkeyhead 2013-08-26T12:47:00

Brilliant idea, very creative. Just keep building up and up and up, this gives it some pacing issues but even when I was stuck I kept saying "right, just one more cycle" over and over.

Graphics jump from clean and well fitting to a bit rough and confusing, but sold on sheer innovation and addictiveness.

Gas and Air! by tripleVisionGames 2013-08-26T13:33:00

Very pretty and my new favourite take on free runners. Once you learn to plan ahead, take things slow and remain nice and level; this becomes an incredibly relaxing free runner.

Regardless of the music source, the sound effects were chunky and satisfying, the game has a fairly strict difficulty cliff and, once figured out, doesn't get much harder. Perhaps more variety.

None the less, beautiful game, very relaxing, if developed further I would love to play this on a phone, I'd buy the finished version of this. It's a great 5 minute time killer.

Tactical Mission by HunLyxxod 2013-08-28T21:14:00

Introduces concepts brilliantly, but the difficulty spike feel immense. None the less, I loved the mechanics behind this very clever game. It's innovative, unique and fun.

The sound effects could use more subtly but they get the job done and work as feedback. The improvement I'd like to see post dare are more levels bringing a gentler curve, understandably difficult to in 2 days with such a complex concept but valiantly attempted none the less with two excellent tutorial levels.

Genuinely brilliant idea and excellent execution, I'd love to see more of this.

SoulReaver by CarmineGames 2013-08-28T20:47:00

Quite pretty, the colour pallet work very much in it's favour. Nicely done. The game play feels too fast, it's very difficult unless you already know the level and hard to get into.

That being said, the idea of explore fast, kill faster is a neat one. I'd love to see more work done on this, it feels like I'm on the edge of something brilliant when I play this.

LagBird by leparlon 2013-08-26T14:34:00

Quite, very pretty and bloody frustrating. The good kind though, I kept trying because I felt myself getting better, adding lag bit by bit is a great way to learn a level before being challenged in it!

TenSecWep by DesignerNap 2013-08-28T19:09:00

Surprisingly well rounded experience, the end genuinely had me panicking. The graphics and perhaps the dip in difficulty are the only real weak points, but the whole thing comes together with that rather than in spite of that.

The game play and theme fits together really well, the music was fitting and atmospheric were it was present and the whole game came together nicely, genuinely had fun.

gl10s by ivo 2013-08-26T13:22:00

It's an interesting idea, strobe lighting could use a warning but other than that the visuals are quite striking. Very relaxing for the most part.

Love Your Pets by DaanVanYperen 2013-08-28T19:24:00

Beautiful game, loved the style and the mood. Audio, even just sound effects would have made the ambience pure gold, definitely something for post Dare.

Gameplay was tight, but the spinning camera can be disorientating and wall vents are difficult to see. That being said, the theme incorporation was absolutely brilliant, I really loved what you did with this game. Very unique. The tutorial was inspired, the power rebooting was both cool to look and and thrilling to experience, waiting to see if you (or your crew) had survived. Would love to see more of this.

CLIMB UP!! by isharacomix 2013-08-26T12:58:00

The Theme seems to hold back the game play, the time trial-ing is fun but coupled with that is waiting in a pit for 10 seconds. That being said, it was still easily fun to play until the end, I enjoyed this game. All that's really missing a suicide or next guy button, though I understand that would have diminished the theme.

And of course, wow, 6502 assembly. Yeah, have some stars. That you built it in assembly is cool, but that it was still genuinely fun, pretty and innovative just makes it brilliant.

Glitch by Sam Oates Games 2013-08-26T14:17:00

For all the jokes about programmer art, the graphic style lends itself really well here (particularly in the glitching effect). The Glitch theme permeates the game well.

That being said, the only criticism I hold against this are the controls, which could stand to be tighter, and the lives system, which I would leave up to you to decide the best course. Going back to the first level in a puzzler feels counter-intuitive, but I appreciate the tension lives build. Perhaps a more forgiving death system?

None the less, the mood is well set and glitching is cool. Hazards are apparent and challenge is interesting. By far though, the themeing is the coolest part of this game. Having the score display as a pointer address, having bits of menu glitch out, very cool.

Canvas10 by Naked_Samurai 2013-08-26T13:43:00

I love the concept, I really do, very innovative. It feels like the tools weren't designed with the theme in mind, they don't work well with 10 seconds. Perhaps different tools should be unlocked on each canvas, but I love when it shows you all 4 images at the end.

I think there's a lot of things that can be done with this very high concept idea. Wonderful piece of software, would love to see it go places.

QuickHunt by MvdLaar 2013-08-28T20:29:00

Genuinely pretty game, genuinely fun. I'm struggling to think of criticisms, it was made with excellent scope to a high standard. If I had to push, the red trees block vision but that just adds an interesting challenge: Do I go for this frog that's hidden or risk finding another?

Brilliantly fun game.

10-Second Switch by oajfh 2013-08-28T20:18:00

It's an interesting idea, manually upping the difficulty. Mapping this to a key press would help this idea, but asides from that the concept of "set your own difficulty" as a risk/reward scenario really appeals to me.

The ships aren't too bad, they work in style with each other and the cavern walls are clearly defined. Other graphical aspects don't hit this standard, like the Game Over screen, but in game it's functional. All I'd change for sake of playability is the bullet colour which blends into the background a little too easily.

Ultimately, a fun little playable romp into the idea of player set difficulty. The music is good the game enjoyable, if a bit rough.

Defuse in 10 seconds by archaeometrician 2013-08-28T20:35:00

Brilliant game, pretty and addictive. I didn't expect to get so invested in it.

The only criticism I can muster is polish issues which barely detriments the whole experience (if at all)

I'm glad to hear you'll keep working on it! Brilliant idea, simple yet effective.

B.O.O.B.S Saves the Day by ananasblau 2013-08-28T20:03:00

This was a really cool and thought provoking game and I look forward to the final product. The writing and mood is excellent, plus it helped me find the boob jam which is a wonderful, wonderful thing.

Very unique submission, what criticism I can offer is mostly materialistic things like audio, which was wonderful where it was present. Little things like the musical beeps of monitors and equipment or just the teleport sound effect. More of these would only help the atmosphere. The same with graphic doodles.

I genuinely hope to see more of this, the excellent writing makes this game.

LifeSpan by debarraGaming 2013-08-28T20:55:00

Quite fun, and a good play on risk/reward game mechanics. Easy to pick up, which is great, but also easy to master which isn't so great. More challenges or a higher rain rate could help this, but that's your call.

The graphics are clean and easy to read, I'm not sure how big the hit boxes are or if you are using a grid system but the collision and movement feels a bit clunky. Still easy to control though, so it's not too much of an issue.

A little romp that could use some polish, but was fun to play none the less.

GunJoust by Vic 2013-08-26T13:11:00

This game man, first I was surprised how pretty it was and then I just kacked myself laughing. I love this game, it is a special moment. The caffeine induced eccentricity shines through beautifully, absolute giggle to play.

Space Rift by GFM 2013-08-26T12:20:00

I wasn't sure what to put for fun, but while typing this in I realised just wanted to try and beat that boss again.

A cool SHMUP, bullets could stand out a little more and could use the theme more but the graphics were brilliant and the Music/Effects felt really perfect for it. Most of all, really addictive fun.

Time Rolls On by cappelnord 2013-08-26T13:55:00

NUMBER 14!

Very funny, very unique idea. Maybe needs a little polish, and check your win screen; I think it's broken but I got the jist of it.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Four Minute Miner by Bevilacqua 2014-04-29T02:26:00

Collisions are a little jumpy, making jumping difficult and buying Drills an imprecise Art.

Technicalities aside, the Music and the little shovels face and animation just made me chuckle, a genuine pleasure to behold. I didn't know you could fill a Garden tool with so much personality!

A Cute little run through, and a pleasurable 4 minutes; going forward perhaps more purchases? Or more layers? Hope to see more!

(Seriously, that Shovel is like, my favourite Character at the moment)

Under Heroes by Just Tom 2014-04-29T16:13:00

Agreed, I really wanted to put in an Old fashioned start up screen with just a tiny bit of text and an image;

The game is the worst taught of my one man jams. Really stretched time on this one!

The Money Beneath Our Ground by João Kucera 2014-04-29T02:11:00

Timer management is a tricky one to balance, but I could feel it getting there in spots. When the game gets going, it's quite addictive, trying to constantly maximise your efficiency.

The farming theme works well with okay with Beneath the Surface, but doesn't invoke much beyond. This is fine for me, the piece works well as a whole.

The art, while static, is well drawn and a pleasure to look at.

If I were to give my piece moving on, get people to play the heck out of it and nail that pacing. When it works, it really works and the Garden Theming creates this wonderful Zen like game play. I think it would be excellent on Mobile Devices.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Color Is Everything. by csanyk 2014-12-13T01:27:00

I didn't even realise it was topical until the end screen and that's what makes it so amazingly clever. I felt like an ass.

Some instructions in game or a light tutorial are my first thoughts on feedback, but honestly my favourite game on Dare so far, genuinely brilliant

BUMP! by Toki Anholmes 2014-12-20T03:34:00

Crazy fun and psychedelic! The vibrant colours where wonderful to watch but the huge, constantly moving text could sometimes make the game a little hard to read.

I really dug the concept and had a blast, unlocking abilities over time was a brilliant way to teach mechanics!

StealthMan by Bernhard 2014-12-09T15:02:00

Cool advance on a classic concept, stealth mode itself can become a bit of a blind sport later on but it's fun while it lasts. I totally dig the lighting effect you got going, it straight up improves classic Pac-man by making ghosts and Pac-man more readable!

BEARPG by MaxguN 2014-12-08T03:20:00

I dig it, a brawler with progression :)
The controls felt a little sticky to me, as a heads up I played with a control pad. That said, keeping it simple was smart and learning the controls was super quick.

The graphics are functional and work well with the humour of the game. Honestly though, you had me at 'BEARPG', simply amazing.

Screendom by el_kloklo 2014-12-09T05:01:00

Cool idea, crazy ambitious for a Dare! Maybe a little too much telling over showing, but I think the idea is cool and would love to see it go further

Play Area by Halleflux 2014-12-08T04:58:00

Super innovative idea! I really dig it :)
Honestly, it I had to peck at anything, maybe the screen shouldn't zoom in when you select an active area? It's a little confusing for me, but I might be over looking something.

Regardless, I LOVE the mechanics, it is balls to the walls crazy clever. If you took this further, it'd be sweet if the mechanics did more of the explaining on their own, but I get the time restraints you had.

Very clean graphics, very readable and the audio was perfect for the mood.

Entity Unchained by ViliX64 2014-12-08T03:47:00

I legitimately dig this game, it came in with an idea and stuck to it. I was a little irked at first but after failing the second time, realised I was in.

Sometimes a little hard to read and upgrades do a lot of telling rather than showing, but I'm nitpicking. I bloody love the ASCII engine, it's genuinely brilliant. 10 points.

Allspark Ruumba by Nardom 2014-12-11T04:35:00

Very cool, I dig the warm graphics (Also WebGL yay!)

Was fun to play, once I got used to the controls I was in for a second round :)

Also, infinitely bouncy lava!

Line Knight by QuexD 2014-12-22T03:38:00

Interesting take on the theme, an RPG on one line.
Unfortunately, it lacks depth beyond the initial class choice but I might be missing something? Is it Press 1) all the way?

I dig the tunes, surprisingly spry for a dare. Would be sweet to see more depth!

Traffic Cop by ondrejbalas 2014-12-10T18:44:00

It's an interesting little system, it's nifty but I left it running for a while and they started off roading! Crazy drivers!

Snake Rider by ETHproductions 2014-12-09T15:07:00

I dig it! I feel like it could get more hectic a little faster, but other than pacing a solid idea with great implementation :)

I legit dig that music too, proper arcady!

Play Space Outvaders by woodecker 2014-12-08T04:21:00

At first I was like eh'
But then the drop hit and I GENUINELY DIDN'T EXPECT IT. Straight up blew my mind, that is genius.

Controls are a little sluggish, but the graphics are readable throughout and the idea is just mind crack for me, brilliant.

Space Fireworks 3000: The Shmup by Darkfrost 2014-12-08T15:09:00

I totally dig the style, it's super pretty and the particles are crazy cool :)

Aiming feels a little sluggish to me and I could use some feedback when the player takes damage, but a mix of regular patterns on screen really mix it up and keep gameplay fresh.

It can get a little clustered at times, some of the background particles, bullets and enemies can be a bit hard to distinguish sometimes, but the patterns are clever, fun to watch and play. Cool beans!

A Place in Space by lokijki 2014-12-08T04:29:00

Legit brill, I'm mega digging the graphics and camera-shake-chromatic effect. The whole thing is just super slick, clever and addictive, only nitpicks I can think of is the camera shake is a little too heavy but that just forces you to think where your firing. It's an interesting balance!

This is my favourite dare game so far, genuinely brilliant piece!

LD35 — Shapeshift

Shift the Shapes by Larzan 2016-04-19T23:33:00

Neat and mechanically sound;
Took a few tries to 'get' but great once you're in.

Dig the clean style, would make a great app!

Arnold Stallion's Pump or Die by arzi 2016-04-19T21:58:00

I have a controller plugged in, yay!

Worked fine, great graphics, v. kawaii

Corvid by Just Tom 2016-04-20T02:18:00

Hey everyone, thanks for the feedback! I added the controls to the description as a quick go to, just in case. It's movement and then whatever key you prefer!

It's post jam now but we might tweak the difficulty curve if we do anything with it later, thank you so much!

Corvid by Just Tom 2016-04-20T02:19:00

And feel free to be critical, controls wouldn't have gone up if no one critted'! Cheers;

Kenneth Rice: Vampire Detective by GrooveMan 2016-04-19T20:42:00

Had me from the start, the feel of it was great!

SandShifter by nesis 2016-04-19T22:53:00

The web version on itch.io works but the ludum dare web version gives "500 Internal Server Error"

Regardless it looks lovely and it's fun to play; maybe speed up the sand giving and taking mechanic (big blocks can take a while)

Stellar!

Fast Dungeon by Andreas Brandt 2016-04-19T23:00:00

Retain experience and see how far you get is a great idea for a mechanic!

Controls are a little slidey and the spikes are a little harsh, particularly when you hit them side on.

Otherwise very pretty and readable; enemies look particularly good!

UPSHIFT by Jessica Hayley 2016-04-19T23:26:00

Once you get a feel for it, it feels great! I kept jumping in just to try and get further. The tunes are swell!

Laser Town by Hectigo 2016-04-19T23:18:00

Very challenging, excellent design!

It can get a little hard to read what piece is doing what but otherwise the game looks lovely and sounds the part too.

Champion!

Muoto the Geometry Wizard by Windmill Games 2016-04-19T22:39:00

Pretty and fun :)

The game-play is harsh but solid and clever; works by it's own defined rules. Very cool!

So You Think You Can Science? by morrilet 2016-04-19T03:50:00

I laughed every time I drank a serum :)
The music is dank and the sound effects chunky; the game-play is fine but you tend to stick on walls a little. The bear and the Cactus are my favourite

Basebird by dvdfu 2016-04-19T03:58:00

This is rad!

The music and art is looooovely, the game-play succinct and to the point.

It's such a perfect and contained experience, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Duck by Szabin 2016-04-19T22:04:00

Very satisfying to hear the pace get faster.
The red is a little clashy with the blue and yellow but it's visible and readable!
Simple but I love elegant design, this is great.

No Turning Back by tgrehawi 2016-04-19T21:12:00

Really interesting look into player conveyance;
And it looks really pretty!

The player sometimes feels a little slow, the themeing is great and the name made me go "aaaah!" when I saw it again at the end.

It's so satisfying watching everything move, very chunky :)

Party at the Knightclub by Elisée and friends 2016-04-19T22:24:00

The whole thing is beautiful! Art, audio, writing, game-play everything.

Super duper checking out your other work!

jelliskul by cakeknuckles 2016-04-19T04:22:00

The art is so cute and the music so serene!
It's such a good nutshell of an experience, nailed it.
And the ending is amazing!

PolygonInvasion by Xesin 2016-04-19T21:23:00

The mechanics are down, it works as a bullet hell

I found myself jumping between shapes a lot though square held advantage vs. a boss, I Like the form switching :) a good strength.

Hexagon Battle by jerryzhao 2016-04-19T18:29:00

Fun, I really dug it (the guy I beat didn't hahaaa!)
One hit kill seems a bit angry for sake of pacing, perhaps a three hit system or something?

Otherwise having a key bound to restarting the game would be super helpful since we kept going back to the mouse for menus, but I'm nit-picking!

I dig the vibe, the tunes and the sound FX. V. cool, cheers!

Blubbymorph by antarka 2016-04-19T21:48:00

Mechanics are functional, themeing is nice :)

Death seems a little harsh, the only way to get a form back is to trek through a prior dungeon! (Unless I'm being dumb and missing something)

Getting new forms and upgrading felt great, very physical!

Flumber by roman9 2016-04-19T04:09:00

The tutorial was succinct and swift, very swell.
The graphics are functional but I found the colors blended a bit sometimes, a color chart can do wonders here!

The game-play is fun, I went for a number of tries! I Noticed the input tends to stick a little, I don't know if it's the game or just my PC but I thought I'd mention just in case.

Digging the vibe, love green, under rated colour. Fun game. Cheers!

Algebro by ChummyWinds 2016-04-19T19:50:00

The themeing and art were great!

It was a little difficult at times to tell if I was 3D or 2D but I got the habit in the end.

Regardless, this is a fun little number, well scoped and well put together.

Gene Goes to the Zoo by Team 63 Bit 2016-04-19T19:13:00

The animations were great, Gene's bite especially!

I had some trouble with the game-play readability; thinks like the bite hit box and my current health, but otherwise solid.

Excellent use of sound too and reading what was on screen was never a problem, though maybe bring the camera back a bit.

Champion! Cheers! Funny too!
