this game was so cute!! good job :D
squishy and funny little character.
I really liked the cute graphics and the simple interactions work well enough and convey a lot.
I'm not really sure what changes the ending, and I was never able to click the blue button >.< but I still really liked it!
thanks! and yeah... the blue button was another little section that we didn't have time to finish, sadly :<
Very cute art style!
Interesting twist on the animal rearing genre, but I am sure you know that. Some fun unexpected features I liked. I was a bit disappointed because it said there were four different endings but I always got the same one. Maybe I was missing something obvious though.
Nice ghost, but i dont understand gameplay.
@dcolgan i was a little worried that that sort of thing would happen with the way we have it set up!
other endings are achieved by forgoing one of the 3 available activities, favoring one in particular. i think in further iterations that will probably change.
The art is so cute and the music so serene!
It's such a good nutshell of an experience, nailed it.
And the ending is amazing!
Cute game! Shame it was a bit short. But the aesthetic was great and had some cool features.
Just a heads up, you should probably disable the buttons during the watering stage because when you click the buttons and leave the stage, you keep the ability to hose in other areas of the game. If you do it a few times, suddenly the foods cannot be clicked and the game has to be force exited.
@Ghust1995 oops, thanks!
Really silly and cute. I loved it!
This game is cute as a button. I wore the rainbow beanie. Then it made me wet my pants.
Well, that was a shocker. I think I got the bad ending haha.
That was fun. Started out not really understanding it, but once I did it was a cool concept. Great Job on the art!
I guess it didn't like the pineapple. Super adorable, you guys did great!
I love this kind of game - simple, charming, and surprising. I love the pixel art and it was really fun to play around and see what would happen. (My favorite ending is the cloud! So cute!)
Great game, simple and charming with some nice art. You should release a .exe that isn't an installer though. It'd lower the barrier to entry as people are much more likely to run a .exe than have to run an installer.
@RyanNielson ah, good call! i feel a bit silly now that i didn't know i could export it from game maker studio as a standalone exe... but now i know, and i just switched it out. same game, less work to play it. thanks for getting me to check on that.
I liked the tamagotchi feel.
I found the art and mood so charming, even when things got a little scary! Nice work!
Got all of the endings. They are phenomenal! :D Lovely pixel art, the color scheme reminds me of Dropsy, great relaxing music. Great entry, loved it. But what was the blue button supposed to do originally? I'm curious!
@jollyserpent it was originally going to be a "play" option! i thought i would have time to do like a simple pong-like minigame, but the deadline crept up on us ><
whoa, that took an unexpected turn! -t
haha that's a lot of hats. He wouldn't stop ripping my heart out though :(
i love the art! neat concept too, would like to see this worked on further
This game is so cute (and sometimes scary!) The music fits well too.
Whoa, ok, that was some scary ending, totally unexpected. I loved it! :D Very well done guys, I hope this is your first of many other future games.
So cuuute! :3
Lol, and scary! Got this tall freak with a beating hard in his hand. I actually jumped at that!
Great take on the theme and I love the different endings! Also, I really like the pixelart!
Really nice color palette and graphics, I really love the grass! Not sure how to get multiple endings though, I kept getting the skeletonjelli one :(
Oh no, I raised a skeleton killer! :( I love the art, really great work! You could obviously improve the gameplay, but I like the "tamagotchi style". Incredible work considering that this is your very first game, though. Hope you had fun, would love to see what you come up with for the next Ludum Dare!
If you have some time, it would be awesome if you could check out our game as well :)
The graphics were absolutely amazing!!! Super cute little game! It took me a little while to figure out what to do but we got the hang of it and had a lot of fun!!
I don't really understand the endings >< Cute graphics and sound - @bytedesigning / Ashley
The game is cute, but I don't know What is the recipe of the different endings :(
Loved this game. Very relaxing and simple while still having enough gameplay and replayability to be more than entertaining. Got caught off guard by the first ending, but I also caught the rest and enjoyed finding all of them.
Very cute !
I'm not sure if I really understood what was going on in this one, but I liked the little song and the sounds that went with the endings at least. The food looked kinda weird, but the endings all looked good. That simple, expressive art-style was perfect for the surprise endings.
The interface was clunky though; in particular, it was easy to accidentally pick food up right when you open the fridge door. I also think you could've done something else with the screen transitions to make them smoother, like having the transition go up from the bottom of the screen, then go back down when you're done with it. The endings would still be able to shock you but it wouldn't feel so slow.
I guess the seal-with-a-scarf ending is the "good" ending? I was only able to get three. The other two I saw were kinda scary, especially the one with the heart, but maybe if your goal is to collect hearts then that's the good one.
In summary: nice art, sounds, and music! I guess showing those things off is the real point of a game like this, so, good job with all that.
I thought the game was quite adorable and approachable, but the number of times I had to restart the game after hitting a bug was numerous. It's a bit of a fun-killer if the experience ended up being so buggy.
Kind of liked the dark sense of humor behind the worse endings. I dunno, they worked for me.
The first shape shift I got was the bloody one, and was not expecting it.. :) gave me quite a scare :D Very cute graphics!
