LD28 — You Only Get One

YOGO RocketFist by _Rilem 2013-12-16T22:26:00

The gameplay feels amazing. I love it overall, well done! The music and sound make it feel complete, combined with a lovely art style that feels very smooth.

I rate it a 6 out of 4 scarab bars with a few game of the year awards sprinkled on top.

Fighter-01 by Thalikoth 2013-12-16T22:31:00

Insanely hard to control, but interesting concept. It feels like a blend of space invaders + shmup + tetris. But I already said so on TS,.. props for actually finishing! (Nagato 2014! shameless plug)

One Take by Sheepolution 2013-12-17T19:38:00

love the idea, love the execution, love the humor. Fits the theme,.. alright, that's a wrap.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Vibrant City by Anshul Goyal 2014-12-08T20:38:00

The mood / atmosphere are really nice. The city rooftops with the soothing background music gave me a slight mirror's edge style vibe, but in a more pixelated/simple environment.

Very nice overall!

Zombies Vs Army by AntonyBaasan 2014-12-08T20:12:00

Looks and feels complete. Would love to see more levels and upgrades. Controlling your vehicle (especially the jeep) can feel a bit slow when civilians are blocking the road for example.

Good job overall!

(btw: the web version is working fine for me)

AZOR by Hellequin 2014-12-08T22:48:00

The music in combination with the ever dropping oxygen bar really gave me the feeling of a need to rush trough. Short, but nice!

Orbitalis by acerunox 2014-12-09T13:27:00

The concept is interesting. But for my personal taste the game is a bit too challenging right away which takes away a bit of the fun. I rarely managed to survive longer than 10 seconds. Perhaps it would be nice to slowly increase the speed / difficulty.
The 3d effect as mentioned by someone else is a bit painful for the eyes.

That said, I really did like the concept. Good job!

Path of Pixele by unitycoder_com 2014-12-08T12:13:00

The game had a nice feel to it and I like the style. I would have liked it if the player had a different color than the enemies. At first it was hard to identify my character.

Orlyrinthum by muramasa 2014-12-09T13:05:00

The art style was pretty nice. I liked the monster designs. The music was quite good and fit the game well. It was pretty hard, but that's not a bad thing.

Hit feedback along with hit sounds or perhaps low health warnings would have been nice. At the moment I usually died without realizing I had already taken that much damage.

Nice package overall!

Hauler 31 by benmcnelly 2014-12-08T17:58:00

Liked the radar graphics (the soft blurry glow), loved the humor with the audio / conversations.

You made me chuckle with that start screen, and I was honestly motivated to click that start button asap! The maze itself however feels like...well a maze, there's no way to see if you're making the right choice. Backtracking became an issue, and it makes the game feel a bit tedious.

Mutitask Hero by Thalikoth 2014-12-08T11:29:00

I like the idea. It can be a bit punishing with the spawn location of enemies. Sometimes when you start the game you instantly die in one of the screens because an enemy spawned on top of you.

I just have the feeling the controls (and the confusion it adds by moving your hands around this much) make the game feel overly complicated. But it's a multitask challenge so I guess that's part of the deal.

Screened by hexagore 2014-12-08T18:39:00

You mentioned the player 'size' it in the tips, but the controls feel slightly sluggish. This hasn't stopped me from playing though.

I loved the particle effects and the scan-line effect. The music fit the game just fine, and all together it felt pretty solid.

Out of bounds! by lion123 2014-12-08T19:27:00

The pickups were nice (powerups, powerdowns). I liked having the difficulty options for the extra challenge, it also feels it speeds up / spices up the gameplay a bit.

As mentioned, the player character feels a bit floaty. But I guess that's because it makes it easier for the other units to push you around to make it challenging.

The Last Panda by Shimone 2014-12-08T21:28:00

I loved it overall. It felt complete. The way you change around the terrain is interesting. I would have loved to see you use something similar for the chest and the spawn locations of the monsters so you would not always have to fight around the same spot as someone else mentioned.

The graphics were nice and for a 48h project I'd say it feels perfect. The levelup effects and powerups were a nice touch.

Rob by SelfishGenome 2014-12-08T18:18:00

I really liked the graphics. The game controls felt solid. The music and sound effects fit the game well.

Super Cave In by sputnik 2014-12-08T17:17:00

Polished, lovely art / character.

MRBOX by karlipoppins 2014-12-08T17:42:00

Reading the credits (or trying to) got me killed quite a few times. The background music was nice.

Jeff The Pink Penguin by Nielz 2014-12-08T20:22:00

Loved the penguin. So simple, yet recognizable right away.

It feels a bit punishing to die right away when you get hit. The controls made it quite challenging because turning is a luxury you don't have time for most of the time (not without moving forward / backward), but you sometimes have to because you use it to aim as well.

Nice game overall!

(btw: I could not keep the iframe version above running in fullscreen, on click it would exit fullscreen again)

Fight, Because. by Tortoise 2014-12-09T14:11:00

"Fight fight fight!" *tum tum tum!*
I loved the audio / music. I fit the game perfectly. The combat feels solid.

A tiny downside to the upgrades, the health pickup is nice, but ultimately makes you fall behind in upgrades. (It's still manageable, but if the game were longer it could be a downside.)

The character designs were nice, and I loved seeing my smiling little turtle dashing about, killing slimes and the likes.

Orbit Jumper by Luminar 2014-12-08T19:56:00

The planet physics are interesting. The introduction 'walk' is a bit tedious in case you died. (A skip option would be nice)

Ship the Sheep by Bardikus 2014-12-08T21:10:00

Simple yet fun. I liked the idea of controlling 'tower defense' waves, but be able to manipulate these units individually.

I enjoyed playing it.

Lumit by Leaghorn 2014-12-09T13:47:00

The concept is very innovative. Even though the game doesn't offer much variety (yet?), it's the perfect base for a time sink game. I felt like playing a modern version of a basic pinball game where all I have is a 'tilt' mechanic.

The sounds and music were satisfying. It would have been lovely if the background music was linked to the action on screen. (More balls / action, more music)

I enjoyed your game a lot, and again, a really good concept that perfectly fits the theme of this Ludum.

Snow Storm by shaundonnell 2014-12-08T19:12:00

The shooting feels satisfying, but a bit too easy.* Would have liked to see more weapon options and perhaps some more pickups. Also liked the day / night cycle, would have been nice to make more use of that. Example: some base-building during the day, and some shooting in the evening. But i understand, the time limit perhaps doesn't allow that :D

Nice game overall!
(*I want a new mouse for christmas!)

Cuberot by guldlock 2014-12-08T22:16:00

This is amazing. I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is great. It made me feel sad and happy at the same time. The player character is really cute. It made me think of the Kodama from Princess Mononoke.

The music and sounds also fit the game well. Awesome package all together!

Definitely worth thinking about doing more with this idea.

Mobster Massacre by Shpuld 2014-12-08T19:43:00

Solid topdown gameplay. As mentioned by others; Some shooting enemies would have been nice. But the shooting, and the different weapons, felt satisfying.

I know there's keyboards and all, but I rather liked the mouse controls. Moving and shooting at the same time with a simple few clicks felt smooth.

First of Many by Anikki 2014-12-08T12:45:00

The icon-like tiles are quite nice. I was a bit confused with all the different building types and different resources. Some tutorial like hints could make it more accessible. However, it didn't stop me investing some time into it.

The Harrowing by K.Chplr 2014-12-08T21:46:00

I liked it, and the mechanic I loved most of all is such a simple thing, it's the target indicator on the bottom. I think it's genius! It shines in this basic environment with its basic style.

In these type of games it's easy to lose track of a unit, and the basic indicator on the bottom helps navigate the mass of projectiles being thrown at you. Certainly something interesting in battles with 1 specific unit on screen.

The game feels like a traditional bullethell game, but with a more simplistic art style. I enjoyed playing this for quite a bit.

Project 327 by jn327 2014-12-08T18:51:00

Downside: multiplayer, couldn't really rate it for the fun factor because of this. (Online multiplayer could make up for this)

The use of physics for the projectiles is nice, and once asteroids start moving the whole comes alive. Which feels nice for a turn based game.

LD33 — You are the Monster

Monster by Aiursrage2k 2015-08-28T11:08:00

I liked the geometry wars-like visual style of the grid in the background. It was a nice entry, I enjoyed playing it. Movement could feel a little slow at times when chasing the humans (I assume those were humans), and dodging cop cars. At times I felt I could use a boost in movement speed. Perhaps something in the form of a powerup?

- "Nomnomnom".

Doodkapje by mathijs750 2015-08-28T11:24:00

"Mommy where are you?" followed by "EEEEEEK", I love it. The red riding hoods were cute. Visuals overall were nice. The sprinting was a nice feature, but whenever I sprint around I tend to run past all the RRHs. (That's just me wanting to run too fast all the time)

However, the camera control felt a bit ...off. It felt hard to control in my opinion. It always seemed to lag a little compared to the mouse movements.

Nice entry!

Alien Inversion by Voidraizer 2015-09-10T22:25:00

I had a similar idea at first, so it was nice to try your take on it. I think the 'action' only gets going once you have only a few ships left. The downside is, at first you will most likely lose some of your swarm quite easily. (To a point where I didn't bother trying to evade for the first bit) Some enhancements in this 'early game' might be nice. (However at the moment I wouldn't know what to suggest for this early phase)

Controls felt a little slow at times, but it was a nice fit for the theme overall.

Tentacle Rescue : Summer of Love by Casper 2015-09-03T20:22:00

I'll admit, on the first try I definitely was the monster. On my second try I felt I should not be a monster. The gameplay however feels a bit limited in it's current state; there was no punishment for losing clothing, nor was there a reward for keeping the clothes on. I think something along those lines would enhance the relationship with my waifu... I mean it would probably keep me clicking longer.

I enjoyed playing your game!
