War of Ideas by jackyjjc 2015-04-20T00:47:00
I really like the idea and the execution is really cool. It was rather confusing at first though.

Those are some cool ideas I could add later on. I finished decently quick and couldn't for the life of me think of any other neat simple mechanics that I could throw in there so it end product is a bit simpler than I'd hoped.
Haha yea, music is not my thing which is why I'm opted out of being judged for it
Thanks for all the wonderful feedback! I had a blast this time around. Last time I made something way too simple and practically finished on the first night but this one kept me going much longer. Overall, my funnest LD yet!
@KaiseanGames I did make the music. I imagine you got the impression that I didn't make it from my comment "Music is not my thing" but I simply meant that I am really bad at making music.
I followed the rules and created everything you see/hear in the game. I take the rules very seriously because I really enjoy this type of event.
I did not realize all I had to do was pack it in a zip file. Thanks for letting me know that. I uploaded that and so now it should hopefully work with opengl instead of the unity player :D
Unfortunately, OnTriggerEnter has stopped working when compiled to WebGL but works in dev. Sorry guys so if you win, you'll just take a long nap in the volcano instead of progressing to the victory screen.
I enjoyed it. One critique would be to allow it to loop an extra time or two when the victory condition is met because on some like lvl 5, the inverter pulser stops sending the pulse but it happens so fast it could be confusing as to what's actually happening.
Girlfriend says she would love an app of this
I really enjoyed this one. It was silly but awesome
The little blobs were just to give it a little more stuff floating in the magma. Also it helps to show your motion. I would have liked to have had it disappear rather than phase through the ship but didn't have time
This was great but I learned I suck at this type of game
Thanks for all the feedback!
As others have mentioned, some forced balance would be a great addition. When I played, I never once got a blue truck and eventually the blue boxes just clogged everything. Overall though, I enjoyed this Tower of Hanoi-ish game
I enjoyed this. Sort of like a reverse lunar lander
Quite an interesting idea here. I like it
This was an interesting game. I found it difficult to get past the surface area 500 requirement because the little bugs were so ubiquitous. I don't know why but I also struggled to understand what exactly was going on for a while. Probably just slow in the morning but I just pressed random buttons for far too long. I do like the way you incorporated your triangle theme into the icons for the UI
This was fun lining up the perfect shot to take out as many as possible
Those legs are disturbing for some reason haha
This was a cool play. What a neat take on the brick genre . I'm not sure what the arrow keys next to the 1 and 2 were for though
Interesting concept. I found I had to do a couple tries and revisit the help screen a lot because there was no cheat sheet anywhere I saw for the codes. Also, when inputting the codes, there was no form of feedback I noticed so I couldn't actually tell if what I was doing was working until I finally got a bomb off. Novel idea and nice drawn art style
Neat idea and implementation, but I will say the sound can be a bit piercing, especially with headphones on
Fun little game. A few things I noticed was that when you load up on acorns and go to unload on the people, if you spam spacebar too fast, all the acorns get eaten by the guy in the front. Similarly, once all the people group up on your tree, they all die with a single acorn. Those both made it harder and easier than expected. Overall I enjoyed this!
Thanks! I sadly didn't get as much time as I'd have liked due to other obligations but it was really fun! I'm glad you liked it! I intend to work on it a bit more in a separate branch. I did accidentally leave the difficulty a bit high as I was rapidly testing it right before submission. I wish I'd had time to make a main screen with a selectable difficulty haha.
@deraxus, yea it's definitely tricky. I've had the most success with tapping the keys for brief inputs and waiting a second for it to take effect and repeating. It quickly gets out of control if you press too many inputs too rapidly because of the delay
@Tsaot, anything like that is intended. The whole point is to escape the cluster of asteroids that you start in the middle of and to reach the predetermined destination. It's totally acceptable to escape via any direction into open space and then circle around to the destination
Fun game. Rail systems are always the funnest part of Factorio but it's different when you have to manually do all the switches and lights
