Sorry for the noise but ignore the previous two comments since I switched to Dropbox for hosting since Google Drive sucks (hosting didn't work)

jackyjjc 2015-04-20 00:43

I put the links for those two versions in game description.

voidraizer 2015-04-20 00:47

I really like the idea and the execution is really cool. It was rather confusing at first though.

jlauper 2015-04-20 01:21

Nice idea, but why are there so many Asian countries?

jackyjjc 2015-04-20 01:24

@jilauper I started with Asia and wanted to make each country a separate sprite but I ran out of time so in the end I just merged all the countries together :(

firecamp 2015-04-20 01:36

Played it. Not easy to find GUI at first, and i felt like "ho what can make me lose ?! tryed some actions and after a litle time , found out it's very enjoyable.

Nice strategy game and idea !

ueki_shurei2006 2015-04-20 02:05

It's a bit hard to see which country you're clicking. Also, it's confusing at first when it's not obvious as to how to perform an action. Still, it was fun. I like how each country has attributes that mirror (to an extent) their attitudes in real life. I also like how simplistic the UI is, once you get the hang of it.

jackyjjc 2015-04-20 02:07

@FireCamp @AnasAzmi

Thanks for the comments :) the attributes are actually randomly generated :P

fanttum 2015-04-20 02:19

Cool idea, and looks like your did a really good job under the hood here.

jk5000 2015-04-20 02:27

A fun idea. But I ended up pressing a bit too much at random buttons.

lord-bobyness 2015-04-20 02:35

Interesting take on the theme indeed! The fact that (as far as I could tell) you cant win made the game feel a bit more real in its own sort of way. It did seem that the abilities were a bit unbalanced. A revolution would quickly lose more followers then it gained for example.

Overall I like it. Simple to interact with but still engaging.

burgerdare 2015-04-20 02:43

This is a cool concept. I like the thought of treating ideas as weaponry, and a game which examines how ideas spread is pretty novel. I found the game a little tough to play, because there's not a great deal of feedback around what you're doing and what it accomplishes.

lkpridgeon 2015-04-20 02:58

Fun Concept

leaden 2015-04-20 03:17

It would be great if my "idea" can survive without my support. For example, if I keep enough followers for enough time in specific country then it country use my idea as religion or constitutional basis, so they can maintain quantity of followers without my support and also help me to convert neibor countries. Because right now it lose my followers very fast, so it looks like my ideology not good enough.

breadstix 2015-04-20 03:32

With your help I have spread OliveGardenism through the world and an Olive Garden now stands on every corner. I love these types of strategy games and thought you did a fantastic job. I wish there would have been some sort of end screen for being 100% but other than that I have no complaints. Great job!

indigo 2015-04-20 03:37

The game appears to be very unbalanced. Spamming "Word of Mouth" appears to be the best strategy in every country and in every situation.

Nice idea, but I think the execution is somewhat lacking.

ivan-sukhanov 2015-04-20 07:00

This is the interesting variation of theme. On my mind america should have a rather differnt form.I cant win easy so the balance is normal. Its pity that game havent music. But all in all the game is good.

ruka 2015-04-20 07:45

This game is good but still not challenging.

buko-studios 2015-04-20 08:24

Like the concept and definitely feeling like I want everyone in the world to conform to the "way of the coconut".
Would be nice to get a few more icons on the map to see what's happening where.

shrimpgunpistolshrimpslingergunnershrimps 2015-04-20 08:40

Hey, a great take on the theme! With more time you could maybe add more visual feedback for the player, but I'm sure you know :)
Really like it!

ps: dont use the mercator projection, use peters projection ;)

akokich 2015-04-20 08:48

Very cool! I was hoping the map would change as you gained favor. The resistance aspect is great too.

jackyjjc 2015-04-20 10:05

@shrimpgunpistolshrimpslingergunnershrimps thanks! Good to know about different projects :D Yea I wanted to add more visual feedback as well, only if I have more time :P

jackyjjc 2015-04-20 10:05

@Bitterdeath change the map color was in my original plan but again, time :(

factorial 2015-04-20 13:40

Very interesting concept, fun to play at first, but I found it too difficult and did not get beyond 25%

geckoo1337 2015-04-20 14:00

A really fun entry. I have created my own religion :)
I struggled hard so as to understand all panels which allow us to play, but by wasting a few minutes, now it's more or less clear. You must add a music as background. However it seems to me really similar with another project which has been developed during the previous LudumDare (a social network simulator). Anyway it's a nice entry. Thank you ++

stig1 2015-04-20 14:34

Fun idea! Liked the interface

uvwar 2015-04-20 15:23

I like it! Kind of reminds of me the various pandemic virus games. Seems like once you build momentum you can't really be stopped though. Keep working on it and I think it could become really cool.

ungarischeziegenspielen 2015-04-20 18:32

Pretty entertaining.

quexd 2015-04-20 19:32

scrub.

hyoga-3d 2015-04-20 20:17

I don't like this kind of game, but I played your and it was enjoyable, good entry.

met44 2015-04-20 20:21

Man i didn't believe i'd find such a gem. Felt very Plague Inc of course but i liked it so oh well why not revamp the idea.

Only regret is that I lost because i couldn't select australia at some point :( but it was anyways, good job !!

nuclear-mosquito 2015-04-20 20:41

I really liked the game's idea, just a pity that you ran out of time. I would love to see this polished.

2015-04-20 21:05

I won with Coup d'état 100% 07,APR,2044
And Coup d'état have an effect on Militaristic

syncxzoz 2015-04-21 03:13

Cool... but so hard to win... i lose in russia.... i only get political movement then police arrest....actually i wanna do coup d etat...lol

timm638 2015-04-21 18:32

Good.

headmade 2015-04-21 20:18

Interesting concept.
However I was unable to sustain influence for long. Even when I still have Resistance 100/100 in an area my influence still seems to be decreasing. Might be a bug?

jackyjjc 2015-04-21 20:33

@headmade resistance is bad, it represents ppl's resistance to your ideology

designernap 2015-04-22 21:18

good idea and nice execution. Took a few mins to get it but its great.

jhell 2015-04-23 11:29

Very interesting, I enjoyed it! But it lacks some kind of challenge for the player, like a limit on the date to convert the world to your ideals :D. Also it would be cool to know what impact the starting modifiers have (peaceful, normal and violent). Good job!

simon-parzer 2015-04-23 12:06

Selecting Peaceful/Normal/Violent doesn't do anything for me, I always have the same actions.
The descriptions are misleading, maybe on purpose? What really counts is how much resistance an action generates because you can't really lose resistance, at least as far as I know. As soon as you figure that out, the game gets kind of boring because all you do is select safe bets like "Word of Mouth" or "Publish Books" and wait until you get 100% followers.
Overall an interesting game. Seeing the world map I immediately thought of a Risk type of game, but I was pleasently surprised to see a fresh idea.

marinalucio 2015-04-25 08:33

Great idea for a game. It's a clever spin on the theme and I appreciate it. I think the game needs a little more player feedback. Maybe some icons showing what i added to each continent and a percentage of how well it's going would be a nice to have. Overall good entry! :)

kardamom 2015-04-25 09:27

I like the idea, but was little confused by the mathematical model below. Since resistance decreases very slowly, the more powerful actions are not really worth using (maybe except the very end of the game where you need to quickly gain followers). I would also prefer fewer action options - it would make the game easier to understand. But overall - good job!

kardamom 2015-04-25 09:41

An addition to my previous comment (spoilers ahead): actually, the only way I found to sustainably increase followers was to keep using "Word of mouth" on every country. By the time I used that on the last country, the first had resistance back to 0, so I could start again without increasing resistance. While this makes some sense from the simulation perspective (you cannot do a good long term PR campaign without word of mouth), it is not very engaging...

impossibleleaf 2015-05-09 10:53

This game was enjoyable! I spread the ideals of Otaku throughout the world. My only complain is that the text prompts cover over some of the places like Aus, India, and Africa, and I had some trouble clicking on them. Overall, though, pretty fun to play! Great work, I'd like to see more of this type of game.
