I like the mechanic, but your difficulty curve is all over the place. There is a huge spike at level 3
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → Users → Nuclear Mosquito

I love the overall idea of the game, but it doesn't feel like you spent time to make the controls feel nice, which ruins the game for me. I had a really difficult time hitting enemies.
I'm a bit skeptical that you did everything yourself, how the hell did you make this so good, so fast? The only problem I have is that you can't literally hug people (Melee attack) and that you walk so slow
I really liked the game's idea, just a pity that you ran out of time. I would love to see this polished.
I just ran away from the monster. Feel like an evil person :'(
This game confirms that I have absolutely no rhythm. But it is a beautiful game
I've played a lot of text games for ludum dare, but so far yours has been the best. It has some issues, but I like the fact that you have to think of words to type.
The first few moments in this game were pretty funny. Very fun to play. My only problem with it is that there is way too little weapon variety. I would play this over and over just to see what kind of weapon I get next.
I liked this game. The only thing that bugged me was how slow the controls were. I know you probably did it to keep players from spamming them, but it makes the game unresponsive and slow.
Nice game, but it is more of a novel gameplay mechanic and loses it's charm after a short while. The controls are also a bit clunky Still interesting though. Good job.
I liked the idea a lot, as I've just started out with touch typing. The initial words in the game are way too long and I didn't get very far. Your difficulty also spiked up a lot very quickly and I was overwhelmed very fast by the amount of units. I'd suggest adjusting the difficulty to someone who is practicing touch typing and not someone that is proficient at typing (like yourself). Still nice game though
@ Frozen Stick: Sorry man.
In the prototype the Test range is just to practice your aim. I'll update the readme with some more informative text once I complete the duel mode where you can play against other players. The aim of the duel mode will be to destroy the other player's planet.
Yes. If you collide with planets or moons your health goes down. But it shouldn't happen at a range.
What screen size were you using when the game almost crashed?
Finally! The game is complete :) Just uploading the final version.
Hey guys. Thanks for the awesome feedback so far. You're really encouraging me to make a proper full game out of this.
Concerning the single player mode: I only made it as a mode where you can practice against targets, due to the fact that this was intended as a multiplayer game. I'm regretting the fact that I went against my gut and didn't make the target practice level more interactive.
The blue and the red planets turn red when you release the moon (But you don't see it on the red planet). One of my derp moments in the game's development. In hindsight, I should've just made it white...
The inspiration for the game actually came from Strange Attractors(http://www.pixelprospector.com/strange-attractors/), not Hammerfight, but it morphed into that as I tweaked the controls to be more fun.
I'm a programmer, so I owe you guys a huge thanks for the compliments on my art, animations and music, as it is the first time ever that I've done them. (I have worked with GIMP before though, so the creation tools weren't that alien to me)
@jhell You can set the controls in the prelauncher.
Thanks for the feedback @Tuism. I do agree that the game lacks a bit juice. This is because I made my scope very small and made sure that I did little, but did it well. In the end I finished a few hours early. I believe that on my next Ludum Dare I'll have the skills to pump in a lot more juice.
I feel like this would've done better as a RPG rather than a space shooter, but I love the Haiku mechanic. Great Job
I'm starting to see a lot of these typing games.
Music and sound would've been nice. But still, nice game. I enjoyed it. Going into my "Play Again" list.
Perhaps make the game's difficulty curve a little easier, but great idea and nice execution.
A fun little game, I didn't really get it, but I just know that I enjoyed it. There is just something about a survival mechanic... Good job on a simple, yet fun game
Finally I get to play this. Awesome little short game. Hilarious idea.
