LD35 — Shapeshift

Zen and the Art of Transhumanism by Deconstructeam 2016-04-25T18:27:00

Controller functionality needs a little work.. menu control and stick sensitivity mostly. Good game, I had fun.

Polydrone by graebor 2016-04-24T06:48:00

Fun concept.. very unique.

MODE_SHIFT by RyanNielson 2016-05-07T18:24:00

Your ship animation and title were on point. The shots that the smaller ship shot were the same speed as the ship.Which meant that if you kill a ship right infront of you, he might have a bullet inside if him that kills you immediatly.

Special Delivery by OnlySlightly 2016-04-24T19:32:00

Good choice of music. I enjoyed the distortion. Id say try try randomizing your particles effects a bit more. They are a bit square. I had fun though.

fun game reminded me of the old karate game

Infect it by PixelStuff 2016-04-25T04:53:00

Loved the graphics and the music. Didn't really find the game perticuluarly difficult but it definitly has the potential to be. I believe that saying the shapes really makes it easier.

Simple yet good. Not really a game id really replay but once started i did want to play more than one attempt. Controls were awkward though. Not sure what I think of the controls. I get what you did but it is a little weird.

Dr. Lepus - The Last Rabbit On Earth by gurkenlabs 2016-04-25T20:56:00

I enjoyed the artwork and the humor.

points in field by yiyuezhuo 2016-04-25T21:36:00

A little confusing but i believe with a lil more that youd actually have a new concept.

Who Are You And What Are You Doing Here?? by Shatter Point Studios 2016-04-22T19:47:00

Had trouble with a couple things. couldn't answer questions even after I found out the buttons were 123. (putting a number next to the answer would have solved my confusion there). The graphics made me feel like I was playing my Atari again. If this is what you were going for, remember pixel art is best when it is precise and consistent. (this is Aaron BTW)

Feral by jonksar 2016-04-25T05:14:00

Really liked the godrays. Sounds went out within 15 seconds of running around though.

Tri Shifter by Nishimba 2016-04-25T22:12:00

Enjoyed your UI. The jump mechanic made me mad. Everytime you hit a hill and stopped, when you would try to jump over it you would have to press the direction button to go again. Kinda annoying.

Star Buddy by drazil100 2016-04-20T09:11:00

The final version of this game's difficulty will be way more balanced when we actually have more than 72 hours to make it. Really hard to balance a game when one of your enemies is added to the game 40 minutes before the deadline.

I'm really glad people seem to be liking it despite the hard difficulty!

Star Buddy by drazil100 2016-04-21T01:53:00

thats on us for not programming check points or something. it is pretty hard.

Star Buddy by drazil100 2016-05-07T00:39:00

@Sathomason thanks! The platform shape was not meant to go up but horizontal as much as you want. So don't feel bad for not figuring it out.. the only up movement is the jump button. :)

- For those who mentioned the slow 'floaty" movements... This was on purpose.. our other game (Space Ninja) is very fast and time based, so we wanted this game to be more relaxed and slower paced. Plus the floatyness I felt was more alien planet like.
- For those who mentioned the difficulty.. Yea it's hard! A little harder then was intended. We didn't get much time for balancing it. The "Jellies" were added to the build late and did not get enough time spent on fine tuning them.. they were supposed to float around, have slower projectiles and be killable with attack buddy or deflected projectile. Sorry bout that :( (A third enemy didn't make the game.)

Thanks for all the wonderful complements!

Gene Goes to the Zoo by Team 63 Bit 2016-04-23T04:11:00

I had issues eating stuff. it didn't automatically eat whatever i was eating and if you needed to eat an enemy a certain number of times then it wasn't clear enough. I also had trouble figuring out what to do with the second powerup. Also the sound was really loud.

LD36 — Ancient Technology

Ghost Stone by earthexe 2016-08-30T02:30:00

I really like what you did with this. It is a very unique puzzle platformer with great art and great music. The physics are kinda weird and clunky but it didn't harm my gameplay experience. Great job!

The great catapult war by JK5000 2016-08-30T20:40:00

Interesting game with funny sound effects but I didn't have a second person to play it with so I could only play against myself.

LD38 — A Small World

W.R.L.D. (World Reconnaissance eLite Defense) by TerraCottaFrog 2017-04-27T05:45:43Z

This game was FANTASTIC! Thanks for requesting it in my stream! Controls while super solid were difficult for me to "master" (if you could call it that). Other than that art, sound design, and controls came together to make a super fun experience! I can't think of any criticism though so great job!

W.R.L.D. (World Reconnaissance eLite Defense) by TerraCottaFrog 2017-05-01T11:13:35Z

Just rated it! Good luck!

Intergalactic Gold Rush by Omiya Games 2017-04-29T09:23:00Z

The jam builds of the game kept softlocking on me and the game was pretty hard to survive in. That said the game absolutely has potential and based on your post jam builds the game is freaking fantastic! While I unfortunately cant judge your game on the post jam build I will say that was one of the most fun games I have played all jam! Fantastic idea! Wish the jam version was as good as your post jam version!

Intergalactic Gold Rush by Omiya Games 2017-05-01T11:27:07Z

I have just come back to give my ratings for the game! I really hope you do well. I am sorry about the bugs that were present when I played it and I hope they don't hurt your score too much as this game is brilliant and shows a lot of polish!

Sugar World by bigpan 2017-04-26T09:23:54Z

This game was near the top of the list of the 13 games I played today. It is fairly solid and there is clear level design with great artwork. While I cant approve of using built in physics the way you used them in this game (at least not without disabling some features of them) I could tell there was some thought put into them. Overall a solid game!

ATLANTIS by OccultOne 2017-04-29T01:14:13Z

This was a pretty interesting game. Unfortunetly I really had no idea what I was doing (even with you giving advice in my stream) I feel this game would be pretty solid if it was better at communicating to the player what was happening. Great job though the graphics looked great!

Chroma by Megalink 2017-04-29T01:06:06Z

This game was very solid and controlled really well. My biggest complaint was how the dash was implemented. I don't have the highest sensitivity setting on my mouse and I am usually pointing my mouse at the enemies to shoot at them. The dash also being tied to the mouse position made it utterly useless as it would only serve to dash me into enemies. On top of this my position on the screen greatly effected where I dashed to. Ultimately the dash would be better if it was either tied to only directional arrows instead of the mouse.

That aside the guns all felt great the graphics were fantastic and the gameplay was pretty solid! I would love to give this another shot if the dashing was more effective!

Planet Domination by Sir Magic 2017-04-29T00:40:55Z

I loved the concept of this game and the game controlled pretty well. Unfortunately the game is a little too difficult due to the fact that you have no cover from enemy fire and every planet is equal distance apart. Also the fact that you could have an enemy stand over your spawn and just kill you until the end of time the millisecond you spawn in is probably something you should address in some way or another.

Ruined Topology by jebouin 2017-04-27T07:29:10Z

This game was a super interesting maze of passage ways and it is brilliant! Thanks for sharing this game!

Pity About Earth... by mwcz 2017-04-29T00:50:01Z

This was easily one of the most solid entries I have played this jam. The controls were tight the music freaking kicked butt and the difficulty curve felt on point. I had a TON of fun playing this game!

Pity About Earth... by mwcz 2017-05-01T11:18:08Z

Just gave my rating for your game! Good luck!

Recoil Assault by Banana Man 2017-04-26T09:21:16Z

Unfortunately WebGL doesn't work too well for me but thankfully there is a downloadable version! The game was difficult to get the hang of and I didn't ever get even remotely good at it (maybe the controls could use more refinement?) but I love physics based games like this! Good job!

Inter-Tidal Snail Breeder Deluxe by uvwar 2017-04-26T09:38:46Z

This game isn't exactly very fun (most ludum games arent though) but I REALLY loved the graphics of the game. The water was freaking beautiful. From the waves on the surface to the particle effects as the waves rushed over your snails. The gameplay itself was pretty good (if not exactly always functional or clear about what you should be doing). I like the concept of having the waves drag you around and it was reasonably well implemented (except when the waves would continue after it graphically told you you were in the clear. I would certainly be interested in playing this type of game after more polish is added and more things to do are added. Thanks for sharing your work with me it was cool to show it off!

It's a Small World, So Let's Crash It into Things by simonhutchinson 2017-04-27T07:30:55Z

This is great! I loved the sound effects it gave the game a great personality and it controlled pretty well (though it was a bit too fast) Great job!

Prison Blues by Drury 2017-04-26T09:33:02Z

Pretty solid game with some interesting level design to it. I loved the style of the art and what you did with the dialogue boxes and the writing was really well written (even if there was WAY too much of it) This was fun to play and figure out how to get through!

A Week's Passing by iseeicy 2017-04-27T07:27:54Z

I am sorry I softlocked during the stream like a dummy. I just finished playing the game all the way through and while there was at least one dialogue I that broke my immersion ("I knew ****** like the back of my hand") it was a really good game and fit the theme very well at the end. I am sorry again I couldn't show off the rest of the game it was great.

Only point of criticism I would give (other than making sure its impossible to get stuck between collision and stuff) is there are too many doors in the house and figuring out how to leave the house the first day is confusing.

Great work 10/10

A Week's Passing by iseeicy 2017-05-01T11:15:36Z

Just rated your game! Good luck!

Petit Adventure by Sun-Wukong 2017-04-29T00:44:02Z

This game is REALLY freaking beautiful. You did a great job on the art for this!

Claustrophobe by Jack Lance 2017-04-29T08:54:32Z

The difficulty curve was way on the tough side and there were some issues with collision that made it possible to die while touching the part of a collision that is not squishing you. Other than that it is a very neat concept (one I am now surprised I haven't seen more of) and the control physics were actually quite good! (even if I couldnt figure out how I got that one super high jump when all of my other jumps dont clear the wall)

Just came back to give my rating. Good job!

Tiny Tony by Firewill 2017-04-26T07:01:34Z

The game is freaking beautiful. It is really difficult to tell where you are at first so that was a trial but I really loved the game!

Tiny Tony by Firewill 2017-05-01T11:12:28Z

Just rated it! Good luck!

Planetary Defense by pixlark 2017-04-27T07:41:06Z

Game is fairly straightforward is actually not too difficult however I do wish there was less mouse movement involved in moving a turret! Great game though!

The World Repeats by GameQuester 2017-04-29T01:51:15Z

At first I wasn't impressed with this game but as I kept playing I began to see the charm of this game. The controls were really tight and I felt like I had good control over the character. The concept is really interesting and actually quite unique and something I never actually thought about. I like that it is essentially an endless runner but instead of running to always new procedural generated land hoping not to crash (like most endless runners) this is in fact a survival game where you run over the same land repeatedly over and over to progress time and need to manage items and resources as you go. This game is freaking brilliant and I love it!

The World Repeats by GameQuester 2017-05-01T11:23:31Z

Just came back to rate your game and I wish you the best of luck! <3

Polyorbis by Matthew Albrecht 2017-04-26T09:31:19Z

This game was a really interesting game to play. It was one of the few games I played today that actually made the world small. I want to give you credit on using your own engine instead of using something like unity and game maker. The work that went into that must have been pretty crazy to do any sort of 3D rendering at all! Also I can't imagine the math that went into this game. The game wasn't exactly fun enough that it would be something I would go out of my way to play but unlike most all of the games I played today it was at least fun to fiddle around in and shoot stuff. This was definitely one of the highlight of my stream today and I enjoyed playing this game!

Godly Corp. by Zeriver 2017-04-27T06:33:47Z

I honestly don't know what to say about this game xD It's a very weird game and any comments I could say about gameplay are negated by the very genre this game is! It was interesting to play for sure! Thanks for sharing this!

Sandelipe Boxenan by MestreRothLD 2017-04-29T22:55:56Z

Your game was pretty interesting and the animations were quite good.

Small Impact by jejelite 2017-04-29T00:54:05Z

This game took me a good while to actually figure out but once I did it made sense. It is a pretty interesting puzzle game and a very unique concept!

Wake Up ! by GoZz 2017-04-27T06:06:36Z

This was easily one of the most interesting games I played the entire 6 hours and 41 minutes I streamed. I like how you used the parallel dimensions theme (that didn't win which is sad cause I would have loved to see more games like this) with the small world theme. There were obviously a few bugs when I played it like getting knocked off the screen and me being able to carry boxes by standing on them. If I had to give any advice for future games is don't use out of the box physics in their default modes from any engine you use. Most of the time an engine's built in physics are both overly comprehensive and overly generic. You can make a good game with built in physics but its either a very specific type of game (like say for instance bumper cars or something) or requires a LOT of fine tuning. If you do use built in unity physics in the future you should always control an objects velocity directly rather than by applying forces to an object.

Overall I really loved the kinds of well thought out puzzles this game had and the art was fantastic and gave a great sense of atmosphere! While the programming was fairly buggy for a game that uses built in physics it is actually pretty freaking good on the programming side (which must have taken quite a lot of tuning). Thanks again for sharing this game in my stream earlier!

Wake Up ! by GoZz 2017-05-01T11:14:48Z

Just rated your game! Hope it does well!

Evacuator! by Robber 2017-04-27T06:30:25Z

This was a pretty interesting idea and I loved the graphics style. The game was overall solid and my only real gripe is that navigation based on the mini-map was a bit difficult (probably cause of the perspective of topdown on the mini map vs the angle of the actual game) Other than that great game!

Comet Escape by LukeC 2017-04-29T00:52:32Z

While there were some clear issues with the controls that made it really hard to jump this was overall a pretty good game!

Horizons by Joseph Benton 2017-04-29T00:48:40Z

This game was really freaking interesting. You managed to take the easy game idea that 1/5 of the participants of this game jam had and managed to make it very unique. I really loved the physics of jumping between planets and it felt very solid. The difficulty was a little much and it could have explained better that blue planets are slippery but all in all it was a fantastic game. Thanks for showing it off in my stream!

Will To Live by reecer9714 2017-04-27T06:47:16Z

This game was quite difficult to figure out how to play even after reading the instructions. The game is very ambitious and given what you were going for I think you did really well. I might recommend a smaller scope next time though.

Hypercube by county-agent 2017-04-26T09:17:09Z

This game has some really interesting elements and was a really intersting take on the theme! I wouldn't say it was fun but it functioned pretty solidly and given the difficulty of the theme I understand the struggle to figure out how to turn the theme into a game. (our group struggled for the first 2 days to figure out what our game even WAS and even on the 3rd day we still weren't completely sure.)

Plutus by Apostate Games 2017-04-27T05:49:17Z

This style was a really interesting take on the theme! Unfortunately as I mentioned in my stream the physics are really hard to get used to since there is no frame of reference to tell how much you are moving compared to everything else. Aside from that gripe the game plays pretty solidly and the art is super fun and creative!

The Epic Quest For The Mighty Croissant by 0x0 2017-04-29T00:46:09Z

I love the graphical style of this game. The gameplay was very solid as well. Only complaint is on the one level near the end there are enemies that shoot tons of bullets and not only are they super easy to confuse as actual enemies you need to shoot but there are just too much of them to make it through the level without multiple respawns. Other than that good job!

No Minor Task: Party of a Lifetime by XAVIER_INDIE_GAMEDEV 2017-04-29T09:12:56Z

The introduction for this game took way too long for my short attention span to handle (thanks for the tip on how to fastforward it). Once I got into the game however it was actually pretty fun! It was pure chaos (in a good way) Everything was everywhere and I had to run away from almost all of it! Good game!

Legend of Helda: Breath of the Mild by Bryan Livingston 2017-04-29T01:23:33Z

Unfortunately I can't give this game full points because it lacks several features that would make it complete.

Missing features ---------------- * The ability to whistle * The ability to spam whistling and sprint to avoid spending stamina * The ability ride trees like General Tao in dragonball

Joking aside this game is actually really pretty good. It kinda goes against the theme of this jam but the terrain looked beautiful (better than I have ever been able to produce) and all of the mechanics worked pretty solidly. There was one issue where the game failed to despawn a killed enemy but overall the game looked like it achieved everything it was trying to be. So overall this was a pretty solid game!

Legend of Helda: Breath of the Mild by Bryan Livingston 2017-05-01T11:19:01Z

Just rated the game! Good luck!

Bitverse by klekky 2017-04-29T09:15:48Z

This game has some issues with game to player communication. I had to be told how to start the actual level in order to play it at all. Also I did't know I could swap guns until I was told (though that one I probably would have known had I read the controls section of the page). That aside I actually had fun in the actual levels and this is so far one of the most fun twin stick games I have played this Ludum Dare season so good job!

Little Sprout Garden by Valmay 2017-04-26T09:18:24Z

I love how cute this game is. Thanks again for showing it to me! <3

Sim Sperm by nbilyk 2017-04-25T04:34:57Z

Not bad! Saw your post about this game during the jam and I went out of my way to look it up cause I was curious as hell xD. Gameplay was a little laggy and for whatever reason I couldn't run it in chrome but the experience was not bad!

Planet or Die! by Silas Reinagel 2017-04-27T07:42:39Z

All of the dialogue in this game was great and humerus. The art was fantastic and the game felt very polished! I am sorry I failed to capture footage of it during the stream!

The Deep by GertJohnny 2017-04-29T01:28:15Z

While I didn't spend nearly enough time on this as I should have as this game takes a good amount of learning to figure out all the mechanics (and I say this as a compliment in that there is so much to do and not to say this game is in any way bad at explaining what you need to do). This has to easily be one of the most polished entries I have played all jam and has fantastic art, fantastic programming, fantastic writing, and fantastic sound design. To top it all of this also managed to be a freaking AMAZING take on the theme of this jam. All in all this game is a solid 11/10. This is the best game I have played all jam!

The Deep by GertJohnny 2017-05-01T11:22:10Z

Of the 74 or so games I have played there were many good ones. If I had to pick a single game to root for though it would be this one. I have just come back to give my rating for your game. I hope you do well and good luck!

LD-38 SUPER SMALL WORLDS by elZach 2017-04-29T09:19:56Z

So far the best implementation of unity built in physic for player movement I have seen yet. Good job on fine tuning the details of your physics!

A Rat's Story by stupidpawn 2017-04-29T01:00:38Z

This game was pretty interesting and unique. Very simple idea of eat as much food as you can without getting killed. Good job!

@jk5000 @pixzleone @richard-michael-smith

I appreciate your support and hope you all do well in the judging phase!

Diminishing Lands by drazil100 2017-05-05T05:06:41Z

@occultone Thanks for letting us know. That is a bug with unity and how it deals with controller input. While it is post jam we decided to update the game to remove controller support so unity wont try to read input from a joystick that isn't even there.

Infinite Planet by gaffa 2017-04-29T09:26:11Z

This game rocked! It is a very simple game with very simple input that does VERY complex things! Seriously how you managed to not only map so many different jump mechanics to a single input but get away with it baffles me! The game was also super fun and I am glad I played it! Thanks for the entertainment!

Infinite Planet by gaffa 2017-05-01T11:28:29Z

@gaffa It was no problem I had a blast playing it! I have just given my rating and I hope you do really well!

A Growing Adventure by frankiesmileshow 2017-04-26T09:12:34Z

This was a freaking clever concept for a game. It admittedly wasn't perfect but the whole idea of not knowing what is ahead of you was a really interesting idea. The game is unfortunately a little slow paced because of this mechanic and the combat is a little boring and unbalanced. The art for the game is top notch though so really good job on that! I would love to check out a completed version of the game!

A Growing Adventure by frankiesmileshow 2017-05-01T11:11:58Z

Just rated it! Good luck!

Crater Creator by navot 2017-04-29T01:47:05Z

This game was pretty interesting. While I didn't do particularly well at the game I did spend a lot of time playing it (more than most games I have played) and ultimately it is pretty good. I really freaking love the lines that show the trajectory you did a really good job with that!

Soleil by JoyFired 2017-04-29T09:18:43Z

I had some issues with jumping from platform to platform where if I didnt jump before moving I would just run off the platform. The physics on the second level were kinda wonkey and I couldn't pick up the keys at first. I like the aesthetic of the game though!

Johi Farm by AVAVT 2017-04-29T09:00:42Z

I wasn't sure what I would think of this game going in but boy was I surprised! The game actually controls really well and has a nice hectic nature to it! Great job!

Ascension: A God's Test by MatHype 2017-04-27T07:38:39Z

Not gonna lie strategy games are about as far from being my cup of tea as you can get. I am a fairly lazy gamer so the whole genre is bad for me. That being said I can tell you put a lot of thought and a lot of effort into making this game and it was actually quite a bit better than my stream made it look like! Good job!

Powerless by Gleb Mineev 2017-04-29T01:16:12Z

I really liked the maze aspect of this game. Every time you go off an edge gates pop up and lead you in different directions. I wish the controls had been a bit better though and opperated on WASD instead of your mouse.

The Room by SilverTwig 2017-04-27T07:32:17Z

Thanks for showing this off in my stream earlier! The game is pretty decent but its pretty unclear you are supposed to look at the floor for the password. Don't know what you would do about that but thanks for sharing it!

Hops and Fever Dreams by Antti Haavikko 2017-04-29T01:45:37Z

The concept of this game is pretty solid (only seen one other person implement it) however I had an issue with the controls and their difficulty. Getting more height on a jump is far too frame perfect and ultimately I left the game more frustrated than satisfied. I feel this game could be WAY better if you simply buffered input so that it wasn't so frame perfect to get a higher jump.

Arrows in Orbit by Stoemason 2017-04-27T06:45:33Z

This was a super interesting take on the concept and you did a fantastic job thinking outside the box. I loved getting to play this in my stream earlier you did good work!

Cubic Explorer by glitchy-pixel 2017-04-29T08:58:49Z

This game was surprisingly super fun to play. At first I was unsure what I thought of the game but after I started to see how the game functions I started to really enjoy it. Just dont try to attack while going through a door as that breaks your ability to attack at all ;)

Cubic Explorer by glitchy-pixel 2017-05-01T11:25:12Z

I came back to give my ratings and to wish you luck! <3

Slightly Angry Max by Takusan 2017-04-29T08:51:11Z

This game was surprisingly pretty fun! The controls felt very solid and the difficulty was pretty solid. My only complaint is that it's hard to see which character you are at the start of your first game. took me a while to figure out where on the screen i was.

K.R.A.B.S. by limejuice123 2017-04-29T00:37:38Z

While I could't really play this game to its full potential (as I lacked a second player) it DID control pretty well. I would love to try this if I had a second player to play against!

The Thief Of Silverkeep by StayFrosty 2017-04-27T06:32:14Z

While I'm not sure I would call this a game given the amount of content and the ease and speed in which you can complete said content. the art style is fantastic and looks beautiful! Great work!

Sling Ship 🌏 by Quoclon 2017-04-29T09:09:43Z

This is probably one of the game concepts I was most excited to see! I love games that involve swinging around like that! That said there was an issue with the difficulty curve. Mainly the second level took far too many attempts to beat. Also there were a few issues with game to player communications for instance showing the player what they are and are not in range of. Overall I had a lot of fun playing it which is why I played it through twice on my stream!

Sling Ship 🌏 by Quoclon 2017-05-01T11:25:44Z

Small Life by 0x3F 2017-04-27T07:36:46Z

Gotta give you mad props on using your own engine for this game. Like the first guy the art was pretty solid. Gameplay admittedly was not very good and you could spawn infinite bullets which freezes the game but the graphics were solid and there was a cool visual effect when shrinking. For making a game legit from scratch and not using unity or gamemaker this was actually not that bad! Hope to see another game from you next Ludum Dare

Quantum Catburetor by jushiip 2017-04-29T01:42:08Z

There were a lot of things in this game I didn't like but I say that from the perspective of REALLY liking this game! The gameplay is very solid and the art looks really pretty good.

As for the concept it is an amazing idea that your play space gets smaller and smaller but this is where I start disliking this game. As you lose more and more health the game world gets smaller and this is a really cool concept however at the same time the less and less health you have the harder and harder it is to stay alive. If a health item spawns I cant just go get it because I walked a single step away from it and now it has despawned. Need to kill more enemies for more pickups? Too bad you walked a single step away from the enemy and now it has despawned.

Like I said I really like this concept and overall there are several things that could make this concept work better. One of the most interesting ways this concept could be improved in the future would be to change the genre of gameplay from a twin stick shooter to something a little physical. Right now the game encourages you to keep your distance using that distance to give yourself more room to dodge attacks. However the problem of emphasizing keeping your distance is it puts a larger focus on the fact that items despawn. This problem only gets worse when your health is lowered where keeping your distance is not only harder but leaves more of a chance to despawn items and enemies.

If you wanted to leave the genre the same then I might suggest something that at the very least keeps pickups in your little bubble rather than despawning them (like maybe some sort of barrier).

Overall I really really liked this game but I feel it does have some design choices that alone are pretty solid but together need addressing.

Antnator by sachos345 2017-04-26T09:26:41Z

Thanks for sharing this game with me earlier. It was an interesting game! The gravity was a touch on the heavy side and there were a few too many enemies. Also not sure if being small fits the theme of a small world. That aside it was a pretty solid game!

Seven Pillars by Jeremy Ryan 2017-04-29T08:56:45Z

I was a total mess playing this game. The controls were very disorienting (which I guess is the point of the game) overall not my favorite concept for a game but a pretty good execution of said concept!

KeyPuppers by AntaresValdemar 2017-04-27T05:54:30Z

I FREAKING LOVED THIS GAME. The game is super cute and promotes learning your keyboard better! I would love to see an alternate version where the keyboard damage is not predictable (like if the puppers jumped to random keys and such and also included more keys besides letter keys) A game like this would make a fantastic game to learn your keyboard better especially if the pattern wasn't them walking from one side to the other at an even pace.

Only bug I encountered is if you freeze a pupper over a broken key it can eat your lives away cause they cant despawn. That aside this is a great game and I would like to make a game like this sometime myself!

KeyPuppers by AntaresValdemar 2017-05-01T11:14:16Z

Daily Routine: the smallest worlds are the ones we get stuck in by Samurai Spark 2017-04-27T06:26:27Z

I am sorry I didn't give your game more of a chance during the stream. I just played it again and this time I actually got the ending! That was a great ending! Winning the game involves not mindlessly playing the game like I did like a dummy in my stream!

FUEL by KCreanor 2017-04-27T06:09:25Z

This game was super cool yet very challenging. I am sorry I couldn't get farther earlier when I was playing but I had quite a bit of fun giving it a shot! Controls were very solid and the whole programming of flying around a sphere was spot on. Thanks for sharing your work earlier!

Cosmic Cleaner by Burgee 2017-04-29T00:57:04Z

This game is basically mini golf and I love it! It took me a while to get the hang of it and even then it was difficult to aim my shots. That said this is the type of game where that level of difficulty is appreciated and helps the game instead of hurting it. The physics were SUPER interesting with each planet's gravity effecting your shot and it was cool to see a shot weave between planets. Overall a really solid game!

Star keeper by Alexandr AndroidDev 2017-04-26T09:14:05Z

This game was a really beautiful game. I love the art style of the game too. How to play the game is a little unclear but it plays pretty solidly so great job!

Particulate by Daniel Alhadeff 2017-04-29T01:07:59Z

Cool concept! Greetings from @drazil100's stream :)

Anyway this was a pretty great game concept. I feel that the pull the other spheres had on your particles was a little too strong but it was overall pretty fun to play! Thanks for sharing it!

Planet Spin by SoulPixel 2017-04-29T00:26:50Z

This game was an interesting entry. Unlike most games that actually featured planets this one involves rotating the planet in order to manage and keep the planet safe. That said I don't know if it was related to the resolution I was playing it at or the actual difficulty of the game but I found it hard to rotate the red thing fast enough to block from meteors. That aside you did a good job!

Fish V Fish V Fish by Jayde Cohen 2017-04-29T01:11:32Z

This game's physics took a while to get used to till I remembered I am a fish and should be acting like one. I had an issue figuring out what I was aiming at unfortunately as there was no reticle and the target spot was off to the left from the center of the screen. Also it was difficult for me to tell which fish were good guys and which were bad guys. All in all though I DID feel like a fish so congrats on figuring out those physics. The graphics were pretty solid as well. Just wish it wasn't possible to get stuck in collision to where I can't move at all. Good game!

Fatal System Error by David Bocek 2017-04-26T06:26:05Z

Recoil - Mike Said No Short Titles by Cynical Monkey 2017-08-02T07:07:46Z

This game was very interesting in concept. Once I understood what I was doing I had a lot of fun (unfortunately how to play was not clear enough for me and I needed to be told). My biggest complaint would be that the game has a very heavy punishment for failing a puzzle (needing to play through the whole game arcade style to get back). If there was a level select I feel that would be better. Also possibly animating the little extensions of the coils to connect to each other or something rather than just spark might make the game clearer to newcomers.

3% | Power Saver by iseeicy 2017-08-02T07:44:47Z

This was easily my favorite game today (out of 14) hands down! The game was pretty funny and chaotic and really does a fantastic job addressing a very dark and difficult issue many people these days suffer. I mean I don't think people realize how big of an issue phones with poor battery life dying in a shopless mall and being forced to talk to really rude people who have different kinds of phones than you JUST TO BORROW A FREAKING CHARGER is! I mean COME ON!!! My phone's charging type is CLEARLY superior! The nerve of these people not buying the same phone as me....

Anyway I enjoyed the hell out of this game so great job! Will play again!

Definitely go play more games and leave plenty of feedback and ratings. This is a great game and I want many jammers to experience this game!

Run'n Score by MatKubik 2017-08-02T07:51:22Z

This game's movement was a little stiff but it wasn't bad! I had fun!

Alienation by Robber 2017-08-02T07:35:09Z

I came back and played this again after the stream and this time I played it in full screen at the maximum resolution of my monitor. The reticle was still hard for me to see to the point I wasn't even using it half the time however the art and mechanics are all really freaking good! This time I actually made it to the end of the game too! Great game I had a lot of fun!

Charged Up by reecer9714 2017-08-02T07:48:32Z

The animations on this game were really nice. I wish I had known ahead of time I was supposed to be powering the core in the center but other than that moonwalking robot is the best kind of robot!

BATTLE BOIS by Valmay 2017-08-02T07:53:39Z

Of all the games I played this was easily the prettiest. The mechanics were overall very solid and I felt like I was playing a completed game. I was dissapointed when I got to the end of the level and found out it was actually the end of the game!

Socket Punch! by simex 2017-08-02T07:50:18Z

This was one of my favorite games (out of 14) today! You did a really good job on this one. Only bit of feedback I can offer is the game needs a lot more aim assist mainly for the cable but it would not hurt to make hitting the flying guys a little easier.

Range anxiety by StubbyRogue46 2017-08-02T07:37:49Z

I found this game to be rather difficult but still rather enjoyable. The art was pretty good and the enemies were terrifying! Great job!

Climate Clicker by Burgee 2017-08-02T07:03:25Z

This game was a really interesting concept. I had fun playing god and messing with my worshipers. That unfortunately makes me a terrible god and thus bad at this game but at least it was fun!

Energy Thief by Fireshake 2017-08-02T07:16:20Z

This was an interesting pacman like game. The characters are interesting and the music wasn't bad! I did find the game a tad difficult and with it being difficult to start a new game it was frustrating. Sorry if I ripped you a little too hard on the stream I didn't mean to.

Btw out of curiosity how did you handle the mouse clicks on the menu. It just occurred to me why it was so difficult to start a new game and it might have to do with where you put the code to accept mouse clicks on the menu. In my first project development class one of the teams using unity put all of their input inside of FixedUpdate() functions (rather than Update() with Time.deltaTime applied). As a result even though it worked perfectly on the computers they were making the game on whenever they got up in front of the class to demonstrate the game hardly worked. I don't know if you checked for mouse clicks in a FixedUpdate or if other functions can do similar weirdities to input but that might be something worth looking into because I had a LOT of trouble starting a game and it didn't seem like a coordinate issue but a dropped input issue.

Blackout by Felipe Tavares 2017-08-02T06:58:18Z

This game was pretty difficult for me (I am not great at multitasking and can't split my focus very easily) but I really like the concept of this game. It was a little difficult to figure out what to do and what the icons meant but it was a very creative game.

One of the more confusing aspects of this game was the switches being elevated off of the grid. It was hard for me to tell in a rush what switch went to what and I often hit the wrong switches trying to turn on another block.

Aside from any mechanical problems the visuals were amazing and the game felt like it worked. As far as how it felt it was pure chaos. If I knew what I was doing I could definitely see myself having a ton of fun with this game as games in which you are expected to do everything but can actually achieve nothing are some of my favorite types of games!

Great job and thanks for sharing!

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Chitin Conquest by Zac McDonald 2017-12-07T04:02:10Z

The game is unnecessarily difficult both in balance and in controls. Enemies move way too fast and I was not a huge fan of firing direction locking itself to a direction in the default controls.

Despite of this I had fun playing it and an overall positive experience! I really like the voxel style. Good job!

No Danger Is Too Much by Kappa.B 2017-12-07T03:50:28Z

The game throws a lot at you and even with a tutorial it was very confusing. I eventually got the gist of what the game expected you to do but I am not the type of person who has a lot of patience to figure out a game like this (did not mark against you over my own personal taste in games).

Overall this game is solid and I can see a lot of thought and polish was put into the game. Heck you even made a tutorial video which is more than I can say for most games produced in a jam.

Kritter Keeper by Archimagus 2017-12-07T07:53:43Z

Steam Paralysis by Nammflow 2017-12-07T07:31:17Z

Would have been interesting if getting higher was more rewarding but overall good job!

Indoor Haul by iseeicy 2017-12-07T04:29:25Z

This has been yet another fantastic entry to your growing list of awesome jam games. I REALLY liked the procedural mall aspect and the general idea behind the game was fantastic.

I do wish however there was more time. The controls are quite clunky (except for the shopping carts which aren't clunky enough  ) and it's a little difficult to get stuff into your shopping cart. The mall is huge from what I saw and I wish the time limit allowed more exploration than it does.

I will absolutely be playing more of this when I get a chance!

Indoor Haul by iseeicy 2017-12-07T10:14:24Z

@iseeicy I am aware and I will check that out but i'm talking about the modes that you actually get scores on. I wish the procedural generation played a larger role than it seemed to. The procedural mall was the coolest part of your game and I feel it's only real spotlight is that awesome loading screen (that was probably your debug screen) and a mode that doesn't really count for anything (unless I am completely assuming the wrong thing about free mode)

An idea that you should have done (and probably could still do) is remove the timer and make the game about not getting caught. The more you get the more suspicious you are but you get as long as you like so long as you make it out with the loot safely. If you want to get really creative you can populate the mall with people who may or may not remember you or something.

Of course that's just an idea and I completely understand that you didn't have the time to do something like that. I am just sad that the main gameplay mode is so short that I didn't get to learn my surroundings :P

The lost strawberry by egordorichev 2017-12-07T04:20:39Z

Wow you have a lot of comments...

Anyway this game easily has the best physics of all the games I have played so far and I like the graphical style a lot. I had quite a bit of fun with this game though there were frustrating moments as well. As I mentioned in my stream I do have several criticisms I would like to offer both so you can improve this incredibly smooth game and that you can apply to future games!

* The graphics are really confusion and it is unclear what you are and are not supposed to interact with. * With how important climbing vines are especially given it's the first thing you are expected to do in the game to proceed to any other levels it is really unfortunate that not only are the vines not clear that you can interact with them but that you can jump past them making it really difficult for the player to accidentally figure out they are intractable. * Each level starts you off with no cooldown time between deaths and some of the levels are really time sensitive to not run into enemies. * A the various objects you interact with are unclear about what they do.

While I love this game it is games like these that really makes me wish there was an "Intuitiveness" voting category. This is by no means a bad game or remotely close to one however in a jam setting it's easy to not put much thought into how the player will understand the game. I feel an "Intuitiveness" category would push clearly talented developers like you to put more thought into making their games as easy to access and get into as possible.

Fantastic job on this game and I really hope you bring more of your great work to my attention! I can't wait to play more of your work in future jams! I hope the criticism didn't come across as too harsh!

Lava Cave by Goplite 2017-12-07T03:57:53Z

OH MY GOD LEDGE GRABS! PogChamp

Not going to lie this was not the most fun game I have played but I liked the idea behind it. I love that the game not only has ledge grabs but an animation for climbing up.

The concept was pretty good too of carrying the artifacts up and throwing them through the hatch to multiply them though I wish it was executed in a more clear and forgiving way to where I would actually want to get greedy with it.

The aiming mechanic for throwing the artifacts through the hatches was pretty janky and it was a struggle to get it through the hole.

As much as I loved the ledge grabs the fact you needed to be pushing into the wall was an issue for me that would often lead me to overshoot a platform I want to climb up from the ledge.

Conclusion ---------- Overall this was a pretty solid game. I had several nitpicks listed above but nothing was completely game breaking or experience ruining. The physics while not perfect were solid and I did play it multiple times!

The More You Snow by Evan Polekoff 2017-12-07T07:51:37Z

I really enjoyed this game however the physics were a little janky (like in ways this game does probably does not intend). I moved quicker in the air than on ground so the ground applied way too much friction and it felt like I was pulling left or right more than I should have. Also there is no penalty for melting yourself completely to have more control other than time.

I would love to try an improved version of this game sometime great work!

Kinball by Jose Pedro Dias 2017-12-07T03:45:03Z

This game was one of my favorite of the 16 games I have played so far however I do have some criticism. My biggest issue with the game is it is a game that you should be able to play with one hand but every button is somewhere else on the keyboard. Z is left bumper M is right bumper and tilt is T which is in the middle top of the keyboard. I have to actually take my hand off a bumper key to do tilt.

Overall though this was a great game I me some pinball and the physics (while a tad bouncy) were solid!

BLOK'D by AndrewJAdams 2017-12-07T04:05:20Z

I spent far too much time playing this game great job! I can't think of anything negative to say about this game it. It fits the theme really well and is simple yet effective! Replay value is pretty low but the game is well executed!

The Big Nom by Pixel Lifetime 2017-12-07T03:33:43Z

This was an interesting game and while not well optimized it looked great. I for whatever reason had a pretty laggy experience with this so I didn't get to play as much as I wanted to. Also from what little I played more seemed to help more than hurt.

Lord Covington's Cup by Sarrixx 2017-12-07T07:05:03Z

This game was a really fun concept and there were a lot of nice attention to detail things like the screen fading and stuff. I had issues on my computer with the jumping to where I would jump through the roof and end up out of bounds. Would love to try again if that gets fixed though!

Trip to the Earth by guilhermesouza 2017-12-07T07:33:22Z

Blob Hell by ryuzaki_mrl 2017-12-07T03:39:20Z

Pretty solid and well polished! I enjoyed it though I was never any good at this! xD

Beer Pong Arcade by banan 2017-12-07T03:36:37Z

This game was fun to try to get the balls in the cups however it was pretty difficult too. I have very bad reaction times to stuff when gaming and while reaction isn't something you really need in this game the ability to move the ball in the are some was impossible for me to control. I liked the game though!

BoatAfloat by StratosKakalis 2017-12-06T09:22:26Z

This game is simple yet great! The music is nice and relaxing and the controls are nice and easy to control. Thanks for sharing it with me!

Also I presently think I have world record which is 12414. Someone beat me!

Shoot and Die by LifeHack 2017-12-07T03:22:43Z

The gameplay was pretty solid! Had a few issues with the control scheme such as view changing being tied to an on screen button. Was pretty polished and there weren't any glaring bugs. I had fun!

Gem Rush by Joe Sycalik 2017-12-07T03:30:02Z

I had more fun than I was expecting to have with this. The ability to ride bats is dumb and I love it! xD

For future games it is well worth it to figure out how to use your own custom physics rather than using built in physics. More often than not especially with a platformer real world physics will open up a lot of unintended side effects like getting stuck against a wall by pushing into it etc. It's definitely trickier to set up custom physics but the level of control it offers you when you know *exactly* how different objects interact with eachother is amazing to work with.

Overall I had fun with this game and I can't think of too many issues I really had with this. Good job!

Running With Scissors by Daze 2017-12-07T04:25:19Z

Unfortunately I got that rare game breaking bug :(

Great game though. I would love to see a hard mode where the timer is running during the planning phase. Idk how many levels are in the game or how high the difficulty scales but the 2 I was able to complete felt a little on the easy side.

Royal Capital Dark Store by kiv 2023-05-13T04:32:27Z

I really like the take that your customers are complete idiots and will believe whatever the heck you tell them. Really fun concept. I would love to see this with some sort of consequence added to it. While I like that I didn't have to start over for getting things wrong or taking too long I could see this being fun with some sort of way to lose too. One bug I found is that you can pick up the same box multiple times.

Again, great game. I loved this!

A little difficult (I have slow reflexes) but really fun. I always like to see someone take a simple game and make it fun rather than trying to make a complex game that ends up being held together with duct tape.

Decrypting Handwriting by pauljs 2023-05-02T01:33:14Z

This was a neat concept. A little too challenging for the level of fun but I did enjoy figuring out some of them.

I really liked the design and size of your city. The driving physics could have used more polish. It felt like the center of the turn was happening behind your car. The map could have been more zoomed in too.

Overall I liked it though.

Undead Express by Zaphire 2023-05-17T21:02:02Z

One of the better car physics I have seen all jam. Most people have the center of mass too high on the vehicle which results in easy flipping. I still managed to get turned completely upside down though so a reset mechanic would be appreciated. It could even take a fuel cost to try and flip your vehicle.

Another issue I had was that I got a couple zombie children stuck under my vehicle at one point and had no easy way of getting off of them. Some way to fend off against them in such a situation would also be appreciated.

I liked the overall aesthetic of the game and the controls felt solid. Good job!

Paper Toss by LexiChan 2023-05-03T03:33:14Z

Took me a bit to figure out I needed to "Match the houses to the color on the newspaper" (I'm bad at reading instructions) but I did figure it out. This is surprisingly addicting to play. Good job!

Dirigible Delivery by aevek 2023-05-06T23:29:35Z

Absolutely outstanding work! I have been playing this for the past hour. I do feel the speed of the game (both the base and max speeds) are a little slow to the point you start wondering why you are still playing between islands. Getting to destinations a little quicker (not too quick) would definitely help with that. The controls for adjusting the sail are a little awkward and I wonder is there is an easier control scheme that doesn't have you reaching for ctrl.

The biggest issue I had with the game is that I use a 1366x768p screen so the UI didn't exactly work for me.Screenshot from 2023-05-06 17-09-11.png

Some things I would like to see are some form of speedometer. It took me a bit too long to realize that even with the sail up going against the wind was slower. It wasn't clear in the game (possibly due to my screen size) and isn't listed on this page that you could press I to open your inventory and change your destination.

It was also a little too easy to buy all upgrades after which there isn't really much of a point to keep playing the game other than that it is relaxing. It would be nice if there were more things to buy or perhaps maybe you could buy infinite speed upgrades but each upgrade has less and less effect. Maybe there could be cosmetic upgrades or different directions branching directions you could build your ship. Something that makes you feel you are working towards something other than the inevitable end of the game.

I also think the cargo upgrades are way too broken. After even just one the rest of your upgrades are far too easy to get.

One area I think the graphics could be improved is the shadows. Idk what it is but it stood out to me as particularly unimmersive. I think it would look really cool if the farther away the shadows were the fuzzier the edges were or something like that. Maybe if they could somehow shift with the waves? Idk how you would even do that but just SOMETHING about the shadows doesn't feel right.

Hope this isn't too much feedback but I REALLY like this game!

Very interesting game. It took me a while to figure out that A) only one box could be taken to one destination before you stop. B) that you could draw multiple lines. And C) that how quickly you drew the lines influenced how quickly you would go. Once I figured this out the game was pretty easy. I eventually implemented the count X seconds before moving strategy and that helped a lot on the timing based puzzles. X needs to happen before Y which needs to go before Z? Go immediately on X, click and hold for 2 seconds on Y, click and hold for 4 seconds on Z.

This game is wonderfully unique and I love it.

On a side note none of your downloads work. They all appear to be missing data. I was originally playing the web version when I thought it was broken after I kept stopping after delivering the first package (Had yet to realize I could draw multiple lines) so I tried the download links and neither the windows nor the linux versions worked. I assume the others share similar problems. Screenshot from 2023-05-06 02-17-38.png

@niclee That was actually on my roadmap but due to only getting my game idea with 24 hours left in the jam I ran out of time.

@wolfier I thought about that however I was concerned it would make the game too easy and didn't want to have to re-balance the game last minute. What I did do was make it so that it always gives you a truck for a box color you have. This way you can always get rid of at least one box.

Loading Zone by drazil100 2023-05-03T17:42:21Z

@big-cow How could you >:( Those boxes are people’s personal belongings they paid us to ship to them. You want to do WHAT with them?!?!

Jokes aside I did think of a mechanic where if you get 5 in a row it automatically spawns that truck next.

@the-wondering-vagabond I am glad you caught the solitaire inspiration. Also I am not entirely sure what you mean by "doubleclick option". I have some of my own ideas on how I would get trucks to spawn faster such as maybe they leave the moment you no longer have any packages for them?

@xedur They actually are all visible though the next up is only half visible. I originally had it fully visible however the boxes coming in horizontally would get caught on a corner and it looked funky. The solution would be to move the entire conveyor line down however I hard coded the positions so it would have been a huge pain in the butt to adjust mid jam. If I do a post jam version this is something I hope to fix.

In hindsight I should have just accepted the funky corner collision and favored playability but I honestly don’t have the brain speed to watch the line while managing everything else so I didn’t consider it in time.

Post Jam Update 1

Thank you to everyone who gave me feedback on this. I don't normally do post jam updates but I liked this game enough and there were enough things wrong about this game that I felt I had to revisit it.

Truck Spawn

@wolfier @the-wondering-vagabond @xedur @wompus @qin-bugong First and most commonly mentioned issue with the game is that it was too easy to lose due to the truck either by it taking to long to leave or getting bad truck RNG. I tried setting it up so that the truck would leave the moment you cleared all of it's colored boxes but without some sort of delay that made the game WAY too easy. Instead I massively reduced the delay between trucks driving off screen and the next one spawning. As for the RNG, in the jam release I had it so that every color had an equal chance. If you had 3 red boxes and 1 blue box it would be 50/50 on whether the next truck was red or blue. Now it matches your percentage of box colors so 3 red 1 blue will give you a 75% chance at a red truck and a 25% chance at a blue truck. This should massively reduce the likelihood of getting a consistent chain of single box trucks.

Hitboxes and Dragging Expectations

@wolfier @teejio I made the decision to double the hitbox size on the boxes. This should not only make it easier to grab on PC but also help with mobile play (though in practice the grab point next to the conveyor is too high and I end up swiping down my notification panel). When dropping a box it now checks whether the box's hitbox is over the drop zone rather than whether the mouse is over the drop zone. Combined with the larger hitboxes it should be significantly harder to miss on the drop. Finally I made it so you can grab boxes straight off the forklift as soon as it comes on screen. Now you no longer have to awkwardly wait for the forklift to bottom out to grab the box and there is pretty much no chance of grabbing too early.

Difficulty Progression

@mintbreak @svenerik @blank-3d Due to above improvements my score went from below 150 to almost 400 and given that players like @thunderchief were already getting that when the game was hard I knew I had to make some adjustments. Now every point you get is 5 less milliseconds between box spawns. That might not sound like much but when your score is 200 it means that boxes are spawning a full second quicker than at the start of the game. I hope these changes add some difficulty for those more accurate with a mouse than I am. I would be really interested in feedback on this if anyone who was good at the old version wants to give the new version a try.

Thanks again to everyone who left feedback. Hope you all enjoy the new update!

Loading Zone by drazil100 2023-05-15T16:38:41Z

@voidraizer While the post-jam version is significantly better I did consider additional RNG optimizations. Like perhaps if the conveyor is 3/4 full it gives you a higher chance to get a truck you have more boxes of or something like that.

Loading Zone by drazil100 2023-05-17T21:38:52Z

@nonimad You aren't the first to suggest a progression system. In the post jam version I made the box spawn rate on the conveyor belt increase by 5 ms for every point you have. I am curious what you think a "progression system" for this game could look like. Is there anything specific you were thinking of?

Little Messenger by ahistyap 2023-05-09T20:40:22Z

I love the art style. I was not a huge fan of being forced to follow road crossing safety rules. I feel like that could have been communicated better as I thought the game was broken.

Train Sort by Max S. 2023-05-05T23:03:19Z

I was recommended this game due to it's similarity to my game and I have to say well done! I had to force myself to stop this was so addicting.

There are some issues with it however. I use a 1366x768 monitor and not all of the train sections fit on my screen. Until I figured out about the auto grabber arm things I was forced to just lose money sending the back package of the 4th car off as I couldn't reach it.

I also wish there was an end to this. As much as I liked this game this could easily go on forever. I am not sure how you would do it in your game but in my game the lose condition is if you run out of space to accept new packages. With your game there is a cost to sending off packages on the grey trains but that cost wasn't nearly enough to risk losing the game (at least not in the amount of time I was playing it).

Again well done. You did a great job with this game!

Goods With the Wind by Juutis 2023-05-07T01:28:43Z

I enjoyed this but it was nearly impossible to control. It was a little too easy to overshoot a turn and it was nearly impossible to level out. An option to have it automatically try to level itself out either right side up or upside down would be nice. Nothing major but something that would make it easier to get back to a state of normal.

Crazy Traffic by misscafeina 2023-05-11T02:31:53Z

I started out really liking this game but the more I played it the more I started get frustrated by it. I got to the mailbox once but because I was on a limo and didn't know what my target was until I was already too far past it I didn't get in.

The 2 major things holding this game back for me are: * It is far too RNG dependent just to even beat the game. * The default engine physics got in the way more than they added to the experience.

The way the vehicles would spawn I would often be forced to wait until the first required jump as there wouldn't be a good path to gain speed. Also on required jumps you aren't necessarily guaranteed to have a good place to jump to and especially in the case of jumping off the bridge at the end you have to just hope there is somewhere for you to land cause you don't get a lot of time to wait to jump.

The momentum based physics are something I have a LOT of experience with from all the times I have played Sonic Robo Blast 2. I actually enjoy a good momentum based platformer where your speed before the jump is actually important. What I did not enjoy was how awkward jumping backwards was. A lot of the time I would lose runs jumping to the right most lane to get to the bridge jump because I wouldn't be able to get enough backwards momentum. Also the way you would slide around on the cars was annoying. I also got to a position where I was on the hood of a blue truck and could not jump. I feel more custom player physics would have really helped this game out.

All in all this is one of the better jam games I have played this time around and I wish I could like it more or had the patience to actually beat it.

Also... "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah" :)

I didn't come into this game with high expectations but boy was I impressed. I just absolutely love the little hang glider <3

The control layout on keyboard needs work. I mostly play wasd games and this game supports wasd but X is completely unusable. Took me a few plays to even think to try the arrow keys. I would suggest either disabling wasd or having a more reachable pounce button when using wasd.

I really like the concept of picking up a bunch of packages to be your body. The combat could have used a bit more polish as it was unclear if I was hitting them. Also the dog after the first drop zone would not die. I was wailing on it for a good 5-10 minutes and it would not go down or leave me alone.

Go Go Truck by zubspace 2023-05-06T05:05:55Z

Despite some issues I actually kinda like this game. One of the thing I like most about this game is that you added other cars to the map. When you drive around an empty city it doesn't feel the same as it would if there are cars driving around with you. As for something I absolutely hate about this game is the addition of other cars to the map. They kept flipping me! At one point I even got flipped by an invisible car xD.

I think you could improve this game a lot by doing a couple of things. First, despawn cars that are out of view and far enough away. This will at the very least stop them from piling up on each other and completely blocking a road. Second, if you could lower the center of mass of the player car this would make it less likely to flip.

Beyond that I think if you tightened up the steering of the car this could be really fun.

Subprime Shipping by TheGamerASD 2023-05-10T22:21:45Z

I like the whole keep the boxes in the trunk mechanic. Took me a level to realize that the roads are a lie and that I should be using the mountains to take turns faster.

Wicked Deliveries by Marco Schneider 2023-05-14T17:51:41Z

Great job on this one. It took me a while to learn to use the minimap (at which point the game became too easy) but I definitely enjoyed it.

First of all I noticed you could fly through this type of building.Screenshot from 2023-05-14 12-37-21.png It could be that I played this on Linux but thought I would report anyway.

I loved the controls but at least in the jam version I would have liked to rise a bit quicker with space button so I could point my camera down more while maintaining altitude.

Overall though while the end result is great I feel as though the pieces didn't quite come together as well as they could. I feel as though these tasks, while great as independent objectives, would have been far better as steps to a single objective. For instance rather than always delivering pretzels the ? items could be what you have to deliver. Rather than going around and taking photos the photo mechanic could have been how you find your destination. The way the game is currently structured it feels like Kiki's Pretzel Delivery Service with fun side activities but all of these mechanics could easily work together to be a true delivery service.

Beelivery by BackwardsCap 2023-05-04T00:47:35Z

shmups aren't my typical genre and I am especially bad if I have to pay attention to bot my position and where I am aiming at once. That said this game is really well done. I especially like how the new levels load in. That was a nice touch.

Orbit Express by BmanStudio 2023-05-02T20:23:35Z

I like the general idea of this game however it takes way too much time to turn around. While I understood how to deliver packages I couldn't land them in their zones. I ended up crashing into the planet pretty much every time. Having x be the drop button was also a little awkward to reach. Also there didn't seem to be any indication of how fast you are moving with the space background so sometimes I would be approaching way too fast.

The art was fantastic though and I really think with some additional polish that I would really enjoy playing this. It's just too difficult for me as it is.

Delivery Dude by MPK90 2023-05-02T22:16:23Z

I greatly appreciate a Linux build however I couldn't run any of the files in the linux download. I was able to run the windows build under wine at least.

I liked where you were going with this game. The map design was cool and it was fairly intuitive what I needed to do. The physics however need work. I typically tend to avoid using built in engine physics as much as possible as I often find when I use built in physics I am fighting to remove behaviors rather than adding behaviors. Granted this is a driving game which is arguably one of the best types of games to use built in physics.

As for how I would suggest improving this game. If you found a way to lower the center of weight of the car to under the car it would make it significantly less likely the car would flip and might help it correct itself if it does manage to flip.

Cute game! Adding controls to this page would be helpful as I couldn't figure out how to drop eggs at first. Also I noticed that your speed doesn't reset between lives. I had to reload the page to get back to base speed. I did manage to get pretty good at nailing the trajectories of the eggs though.

ON TIME by VirtualMan52 2023-05-13T03:58:21Z

I forgot to actually comment on this. This definitely needs a bit more in game instructions. For instance I couldn't figure out why clicking the turn and highlighting it and then hitting play didn't do anything. I didn't realize I had to click on the map to place it.

Other than that this is one of the highest ratings I have given for a game so far so great job!

Superbloom by devook 2023-05-05T01:28:05Z

The gameplay loop on this is really soothing. The camera takes a little too long to catch up to the direction of the bee though causing me to completely lose control every now and then as I try to figure out what direction I need to correct towards to go where I want to go.

This game is good though. I like it :)

An Ocean Planet by JamieOK 2023-05-02T19:22:35Z

Only able to leave a partial rating due to the lack of Linux support. The game played but the graphics were definitely not supposed to look like this. Screenshot from 2023-05-02 14-12-31.png

What I was able to rate I did really like. The controls were solid and despite my inability to see more than just a portion of my ship I was able to figure out how to navigate. The audio and mood were really good.

If you want and are able to build a Linux version I would be happy to try this again to fill out the other categories. If not I completely understand.

@thunderchief You know I didn't connect the dots until just now but it totally makes sense why this game was difficult to control. You were getting bloody 408 on the old version of my game when I was barely able to break 120. You are a precision god! I think part of what happened with this game is a classic case of "The developer is good at their own game" where you tuned it to what generally felt right to your team without enough consideration of a more general player trying to control this game for the first time.

I will definitely be interested in giving this another shot if you decide to make a post jam version (assuming I see the notification of course)

Instant Delivery by Scorpion 2023-05-03T02:48:55Z

This game was pretty solid! Any game that diverts your attention between 2 or more tasks that require the same level of attention is a fun idea. A couple points of criticism though. First of all the title screen does not scale to your display size. I have a 768p monitor and not only did it crop the title screen image but the mechanical button didn't line up with the button graphic.Screenshot from 2023-05-02 21-38-21.png

Also there was nothing preventing me from just spamming both package throwing buttons and focusing my attention on driving.

Don't Stranding by nekowei 2023-05-03T20:33:28Z

The sailing controls felt fantastic but I didn't really feel challenged or like I had an actual goal. At the same time it didn't really feel like a game you are supposed to just kill time and relax in. I think a little extra focus on what the game wanted to be would have gone a long way on this one.

Deliverables - LD53 by potkirland 2023-05-03T23:06:17Z

I got to 7 babies born. The controls were a little awkward with how I had to keep reaching over to the mouse with my right hand yet I had to use arrow keys to drive. I like how you don't get speed boosts the second you press the button. Prevented me from getting into a lot of accidents.

Dangerous Delivery by Shuimen 2023-05-18T07:07:40Z

Took me a while to understand but once I did it was fine. My biggest complaint is that the slowdown action actually slows your action cooldowns as well to the point the game can become unplayable.

Stork Exchange by Payaosito 2023-05-03T21:38:14Z

This is fantastic! I got hooked for a good 15 minutes. One suggestion I would offer is when you pick up a new baby it should pick from one of the combinations currently being asked for by the houses. The most annoying part of the game was having to swap the babies out to get one I could actually throw at a house and having it not generate invalid babies would fix that.

Also you should show the final score on the game over screen. I THINK i got 720? I maybe got more but I don't know cause I wasn't looking at my score when I game overed.

Great job btw!

Jokes aside this was a really neat idea for a game. Way too many people focus on the throwing boxes at doors aspect of delivery and not enough people focus on the getting the packages to the right people aspect. I really liked the sound effects on the boxes and the graphics were pretty good (especially the busy road outside that was a nice touch)

The only issue I found is that it was possible to get the package past the trigger. Having an invisible wall behind the trigger would be nice.

This game was actually very fun. The scoring system is a little broken though. I would love to see a version where you get a certain amount of time back per successful delivery. The most I was able to get in a single game was 2 but if there was a mechanic to extend your timer I could see playing optimally being significantly more important.

This is actually really good. I played through the entire game. I think the controls could use more work. I have to imagine there is a reasonable way to combine both characters together in a way that doesn't require switching all the time. Great job on this game though I like it :)

Package Panic by indigoninja 2023-05-13T06:41:05Z

I have a 1366x768 monitor and text was getting cut off.

Overall though I like this game concept. It was a little frustrating not being able to see a guy coming and them just standing there until the end of time after they see you. I would love to see it be possible to lower their suspicion by waiting but having a secondary lose condition if I take too long or something like that. If there were multiple routes I could take it would be less of a concern but I always get busted in the middle which I NEED to cross through to get from the green and yellow houses to the red and blue houses. Alternatively having some sort of way to pass without alerting suspicion would be nice.

Package Quest: AI Adventure by mathead 2023-05-02T23:14:47Z

This game is incredible! I absolutely love that you have to chat with an AI to figure out who they are. I assume you are using an LLM. If so what model are you using?

Edit: I forgot to mention I was trying to trick the AI into wanting to receive the package and managed to accidentally break one of them out of their roles.Screenshot from 2023-05-02 17-35-55.png

I don't think anything could have prepared me for what to expect in this game but I had a good laugh :P

Cool concept and great look.

Nightmaremaid by vydra 2023-05-06T05:18:41Z

This is absolutely terrifying. The graphics kinda got in the way of playing the game as I kept going down the same hallways and getting lost. I am typically an excellent navigator both in and out of games so I felt really out of my element on this one. I would have tried for longer but after 10 minutes I was just too scared by all the creepy sounds to risk a jump scare. Not sure if this game actually has jump scares but you thoroughly had me on the edge of my seat with your audio design.

I would love to try this again if you are ever able to improve the navigation issues.

DeliveryQuest by RaggedyJam 2023-05-13T08:46:02Z

I am on trackpad so I was unable to get past the bird section. I eventually got the hang of releasing the package to attack and catching it again but I have no idea how long the section is and I keep dropping the package. Despite my trackpad frustrations the bird section was probably my favorite part. I also loved the DK-like cannon segment at the start of the game.

Divine Messenger by ndellam 2023-05-18T06:50:02Z

I really hate this... Not because the game is bad but because I am bad. I keep freaking falling down xD

Excellent job on this game. I didn't know what to expect when I clicked on this but the physics were just right to maximize that getting over it frustration. It would be nice if there was some sort of bar that showed the strength of your jump before you release cause I am really bad at timing it.

Simple yet effective!

Parcel Madness: The Last Delivery by Grocek 2023-05-18T06:29:38Z

I got stuck due to an inability to throw the box on the second floor of the second room. It just kept setting the box down next to me.

Delivery Dashers by Ylaxus 2023-05-06T22:05:36Z

Very simple yet very fun. I feel as though the houses on the left are easier to hit than the ones on the right. Not sure why but it could be due to lighting. Also it was a little confusing looking perpendicular to the street yet having left and right move you left and right on the street. Ultimately id chalk that up as part of the game and not necessarily a problem though. Great game! Screenshot from 2023-05-06 17-00-54.png

PARCEL ROCKET by Braveskin 2023-05-02T19:58:22Z

It was a little too easy to flip yourself and respawning was a little too slow. Other than that I really liked this game concept. The controls were solid and it didn't take me long to figure out what I was doing.

Delivery, Xtreme by anguium 2023-05-03T03:40:42Z

This is the best game I have played this jam. Hands down. Nothing but compliments from me :)

Box Rush by Phyrocast 2023-05-02T18:16:33Z

I really love the asthetic of the game but the camera controls were *way* too sensitive for me to see any of what I was doing.

Crazy Pizza by Kruger Game Studio 2023-05-02T19:45:19Z

This is actually really fun. I had issues deciphering which way the cone was pointing though and often went down the wrong road. There were other times where I felt the cone was pointing in the wrong direction. The controls actually felt really good and I was reversing with ease. I loved (and hated) how going up hill slows you down. Attention to detail and polished controls are a big thing I look for when playing a game and this game had it.

The last way by Arficord 2023-05-03T21:01:14Z

I got lost at sea. Could not find my way back to land.

Overall I loved the aesthetic but the combat could have used a little extra work to feel satisfying. The giant skeleton hand coming out of the water behind the house is incredible btw.

Kick Boxing by deadlycupcake 2023-05-06T08:02:52Z

> Wouldn't it be more fun to kick it?

I'm not sure fun is the reason I am kicking this dang box anymore!

Joking aside this is a great game. I wasn't anticipating a rage inducer. I didn't wan't a rage inducer. But boy isn't this ever a well designed one. I love how with only a few simple mechanics you managed to design multiple great and unique challenges.

One suggestion on how this could be improved is to make the clickable hitbox of the package bigger than it's visible sprite. In high stress moments it's really easy to missclick and on ice section if you take even a fraction of a second too long to check that your mouse is over the package it is likely too late. Making the click radius more forgiving (at least while the package is in motion) would allow for less stress about whether you will click the package and allow you to focus more on where you are aiming. This would also allow for the creation of more complex puzzles.

Another pain point with this game is the checkpoint system. It wasn't clear to me why after the first ice platform my progress wasn't getting saved. I thought the game was broken and even reloaded it in the hopes that it wouldn't glitch out. It wasn't until I got past that section that I realized it wasn't broken and it was intentionally not saving my progress. It would be helpful if there was some sort of icon or something indicating when your progress is or is not being saved.

PILE-UP! by Cyboi 2023-05-07T01:49:43Z

Good game! I was unsure what to do with white boxes without reading the instructions and I never figured out what causes you to get game over but everything else was intuitive. You could even grab packages out of the air which is nice.

Critter Courier by Lola Linuesa 2023-05-06T08:47:09Z

Took me a few tries but I finally started figuring my way around. I am blown away by the attention to detail in this game. How the heck is this a jam game!

Deadly Delivery Dash by PotatoCouch 2023-05-06T05:30:20Z

This reminds me a lot of the bash ability in Ori and the Blind Forest. I wish there was a way for me to make subtle movements without launching myself. I would often find myself in positions where it was impossible for me to get to where I want to and trying to compute what I need to do to get there would get me hit by 5 bullets.

Delivery and Hunting for Lavatory (DHL) by Kitira 2023-05-10T00:48:53Z

This was better than I was expecting. My only issue is it felt like there was an input delay on jumping and I ran off the edge a few times as a result.

Reckless Deliverer by OlekSUNder 2023-05-18T03:24:47Z

I tried for about 10 minutes and couldn't get a single point. I feel the biggest issue with this game is it doesn't give the player a good way to get familiar with the controls or how to achieve the objective before throwing them into the deep end. I get the appeal of making a difficult game but that doesn't mean it has to be difficult to learn.

Overall though I liked what you were going for. I am definitely not skilled enough for this game but I can tell it would probably be pretty fun once you learn the controls.

Hive by blank_3D 2023-05-04T16:42:18Z

Congrats! I think you are the first person I have given a 5 to on innovation! I never considered the possibility that the player would be the recipient of deliveries! Nice take on the theme!

Also the controls were spectacular! They were just bad enough (by design) to be engaging but also good enough to be relaxing at the same time. I eventually learned that it was quicker to do a fly by than it was to specifically try to re-aim at every one I just barely miss.

The level design was also spectacular. When you first leave the hive you are introduced to what feels like a very small areas with a few flowers. As you start running out of pollen to collect you start noticing the world is bigger and bigger than originally noticed. You don't get overwhelmed with where to go while at the same time you never feel like you have run out of places to explore. Your vision is at all time focused on the goal and you don't get lost in the world but you also don't get bored of it.

10/10 game!

Bunpacking by Chailotl 2023-05-07T02:13:33Z

Very cute game! I got to 1355 before I stopped. It's way too easy to manipulate the AI. For one thing if they are about to catch you you can sidestep them and essentially fling them past you and it will take them a while to turn around. That said you don't even need to deal with them if you go between the 30 and 40 and pause for a second before picking up the 40 package.

Some easy fixes that would help a lot with this game would be to randomize the package you need to deliver rather than letting you pick whichever one you want. Another easy adjustment would be to have them stop running to the package after you deliver it. Maybe randomly give each one a point to return to after the package has been delivered so they start off more spread out.

Overall I really liked this game!
