A simple game with a nice style! The camera controls were very sensitive and hard to use.

A simple game with a nice style! The camera controls were very sensitive and hard to use.
Well done! That's a very ambitious first game jam! Some problems I ran into on web build: Camera is too sensetive. A/D don't just strafe but also turns the camera. The timer loopa around when it reaches zero (is this intended?). I could fill up the package with things but couldn't manage to send it away once the order was complete (maybe I missed how to do this).
Overall nicely done. I really liked the art, and the ambitious scope of the game.
Nice animations on the character! The game would be fine if I could set the sensitivity, and the mouse would lock to the screen. Right now I'm practicing moving the mouse at snail speeds and containing it within the screen area. So, with better mouse controls, this could be pretty fun. I sent a package, but I can't press the first button again to get a new box to fill.
I can't download the executable
@josemwarrior the .zip download doesn't work? Sorry about that I'll try and look into it
Like other people said before me, the camera is way too sensitive. The tutorial says "follow the blue light", however in my opinion the blue light is too subtle and uneasy to find. I was looking for a saturated, clear and "obvious" blue light but the actual light is more lightblue/cyan. It took me a bit to figure it out. The trigger area of the buttons seems to be to small, I had to walk into a very specific spot to activate it. Does character rotation matter? I tried to get him face the button, but struggled to do so. Last, what do I have to do once I put the boxes to the shipping area? I got stuck there.
On the positive side, I really like the boxy character and the walk and idle animation. It really adds to the mood.
@josemwarrior a github link has been added to try and fix the download issue!
Nice job! Outside of what's already been said with mouse sensitivity, the timer, and that I wasn't sure how to ship the box once filled. It would be nice to have a run button to move a bit faster and if you're full screen in the web version at least, Escape pulls you out of full screen instead of pausing, so might be good to have a secondary pause button for that.
@floke Thanks for the feedback, I'll try and improve on all this. Yes, the player rotation matters, I wanted to make it camera-based but ran out of time sadly... For the trigger area it seems some buttons have in fact kind of broken hitboxes that make them very hard to use sorry about that.. And for the shipping area, once a package has been filled and taken away, you're supposed to be able to start again request a new box and fill other order to increase your score before the timer runs out, but it seems the reset isn't correctly made so the game gets stuck until the timer runs out sadly... Thanks for the detailed feedback!
@asilvers Oh I forgot to write it in the controls!! yes there is a sprint button, it is Left Shift, I'll add it to the game description right away
Playing on the web the camera was hard to control, and stopped working when the mouse was outside of the browser window. Tried full screed as well but when the mouse goes to the other monitor the camera stops rotating, other than that was a solid game! Nice graphics!
Similar to others, would be great if the WebGL build could capture the mouse cursor.
On the positive side, I like the the models and animations. The third person perspective let's me enjoy the feeling of being a delivery person. I like grabbing the packages and fulfilling the orders. Overall a good take on the delivery theme.
Like others said, definitely had camera issues - the animations and graphics, while simple, are really nice and easy to read though. The package list up on the screen is a nice touch as well!
Gameplay was a little hard to figure out, maybe a little more guidance in that direction would be nice. Overall a nice concept :)
Like everyone else is say, camera was difficult and I couldnt figure out how to ship the box. But i did like the game and the character and animations.
The game seems very impresive for a first ever Compo game! Great job! However, the mouse sensetivity was way too high for me, and also the cursor didn't locked so it was pretty tough to play on WebGL with a Macbook haha however seems cool!
I really love the asthetic of the game but the camera controls were *way* too sensitive for me to see any of what I was doing.
You've got a good core concept here, with a few tweaks and some polish this could be really fun!
the game is nicely made, but the control sensitivity is very high.
Very cool base for a game, with a bit of polishing this could become a great time killer! Many other said it already, but yes, the controls are *way* too sensitive. Also not locking the cursor to the game view caused me to click outside of the game accidentally a few times. Just small issues which should be easily fixable!^^ Great submission!
The visuals remind me of the good old Ace of Spades, I love it, but please have different sensitivity on the X and Y axis with the camera. Otherwise great game.
can't download it ahhhh
Good concept but would have been better if you hadn't kept high camera sensitivity and also would have helped if there was a crosshair.
Cool game, I love the animation of the delivery man, really smooth. The gameplay is fun but the controls are way too sensitive, that makes it hard for no good reason. Anyway it's a fun and nice game, good job
Same issues with sensitivity + inverted Y axis is so hard for me. But great little game, I like that you even have an animated main menu.
A nice little game, I liked the graphics and delivering boxes gameplay - it was very smooth. I had slight problem with camera (extremely high sensitivity on vertical axis - but it might be just my setup here).
For whatever reason the graphics reminded me of old music video Money for Nothing from Dire straits. Had an absolute blast from that.
Also, sometimes it didn't show properly the box I've picked (highlight was on a different one).
Nice game!
Didn't camera lock on linux, not sure if its supposed to be like that or not, but made very difficult to play.
Man, I'm so dizzy after playing your game. Also, I think you can add some more texts to clearly say where is what, it's a bit confusing at first. Great effort though
I am impressed that you got a full animated player done in your first game jam (and a COMPO no less)! I ran into a similar issue for my first jam in that the mouse sensitivity was too high after uploading it to html, to which a slider would be helpful. Other than that, cool idea and good job!
I really liked the concept. I feel like the art style, as simple as it is, actually fits the game. Having items be boxes of one colour make them much easier to find and to remember. (Might not be intentional? but was a good decision I think :P).
in the web build the camera is a bit buggy. Also I would have like for it to feel faster. I feel like the character is walking on water, somehow. I am also missing some more "juiciness" when delivering objects.
Beside that, it is a really impressive entry for a first game jam and on compo. So good job!
I dig the art style in it's minimalist 3D approach, but the camera is hard to control because it doesn't stay locked to the game screen and some of the pick-up ranges are a bit difficult to gauge. After a bit of experimenting around the room I figured out what to do.
Good work all in all, cheers for the game!
The graphics in this game may be humble, but they have a certain nostalgic allure that brings back memories of classic gaming experiences
