This game is surprisingly fun! You could work on the graphics next time, though.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD53 → Delivery Dude

I greatly appreciate a Linux build however I couldn't run any of the files in the linux download. I was able to run the windows build under wine at least.
I liked where you were going with this game. The map design was cool and it was fairly intuitive what I needed to do. The physics however need work. I typically tend to avoid using built in engine physics as much as possible as I often find when I use built in physics I am fighting to remove behaviors rather than adding behaviors. Granted this is a driving game which is arguably one of the best types of games to use built in physics.
As for how I would suggest improving this game. If you found a way to lower the center of weight of the car to under the car it would make it significantly less likely the car would flip and might help it correct itself if it does manage to flip.
@drazil100 It's a pity about the Linux build. I'll try to set up a Linux and find out the problem, but not until the evening. Sometimes the engine export template works perfectly, sometimes not :(
With the LD 50 the Mac version didn't work at that time, so I didn't offer any more... (testing Mac without Apple device is not really possible)
I just figured it out... I needed to chmod +x it.
All in all a solid experience. It was funny to make my van flip when I ran into the side of the road at top speed :D
Seems like the physics are gimping the game a bit. Its difficult to get back on the road when you gotten off it and you kinda need to to deliver pizas.
Good and interesting idea game
The flip van pizza delivery is fun to drive 😁
I bet this world could be expanded and the game would be endless!
I like it but have some problems driving the van and with collisions, I fly a lot lol, you need a lose condition because I run out of gas and nothing happend, I like the mood and the idea, good work!
It reminded me of the old game Lego Island where you deliver pizzas. I had some weird graphics quirks with the 3D models (windows cutting through the building). I also seemed to hit some things that sent me flying, which was funny.
The main thing I think it could use is some sort of menu/intro so I know what I'm doing. It was a little confusing where the pizzas were supposed to go and what the numbers in the top left really meant. But from one solo-dev to another it's very impressive and amazing to do a 3D game in such a time crunch. Great job!
Nice game good job ! As others mentioned the game lack a bit of polish, but I understand that time was an issue as you were alone on this project, and the game is enjoyable anyway so it doesn't matter that much. The only thing that bothered me is that you have to pay to reset your position. But overall I had fun, so yeah good job
Pretty good game! Took me a bit at first to find where to go and what not but afterwards I was racing around the tracks!
Nice job! :D and thanks for the Linux port. Made it much easier to test :D
would pretty much instantly flip going off the road, especially up the hill, but you have to go off the road or you can't reach the delivery point (also clipped through the ground a few times :/) Not sure how the gas works, i went from 120 for a long time to 100 then straight to 12 and ran out a few feet later. Could be pretty solid with some polish and a few more mechanics, the collision is the biggest issue though.
I'm sorry to say that locking the camera's rotation to the vehicle's rotation caused me to experience motion sickness. Even the slight tilting of the camera when turning made me feel like I was on a rocking boat, and hitting the edge of the road caused the camera to spin uncontrollably. Additionally, if you accidentally fall off the road, the truck becomes stuck.
I flipped over immediately, and could not figure out how to refuel or get more pizzas once I did manage to deliver a few.
@shiiro-10psi Too bad your experience wasn't so good. I unfortunately ran out of time massively towards the end. Importing the 3D models only happened in the last 2h before the deadline. Could then only just put the rest together.
At the gas station, white semicircles should be visible at the gas pump. About every second some fuel should be refilled, if money is available. Where you spawn is also the pizza restaurant. You need money for that as well.
@dongle Next Ludum Dare I will definitely make a smaller game, where I will also have time for polishing. Maybe then in 2D. Sounds almost like you played it with VR glasses. I'm going to look into the camera again.
After giving it a bit little time and coming back to give it another go. I think this game fits the theme well and is the speed of the truck and the controls are fun. Once I seen that there is restart button it really helps with overall experience of the game as when the camera gets too crazy I can hit the R. I think there can be something here with a bit of work.
If you expand on the idea I would really like to see how it turns out! Great job, you're really skilled for not much experience in 3d for sure.
@shiiro-10psi @wolfier @dongle
I have published a Post Version:
- The pizza car is much harder to flip over. - Resetting the car and getting new pizzas no longer costs money - But refueling became a bit more expensive - When the gas is empty, you have lost - It is now easier to understand the gas station or the pizzeria

- Now you can lose :)
I think you have a good vision for this game, but you ran out of time. And you worked on it solo too? Massive respect. If you want to make further improvement for the game, I suggest improving the driving mechanic and removing the side-road collisions, or at least reducing it (sorry if this already mentioned, I didn't read any previous comments). Overall, nice work!
@ahistyap Thank you for your feedback! Yes, I have developed the game alone.
Very ambitious to go with a 3D world for a game jam!! Despite being held to a very simple style, I thought it looked a bit comedic and fun!! Would have reeeeeally loved some fun silly background music! For a second LD entry, really impressive!!! Well done, got quite a few chuckles out of me!
@xhadie Thank you, your feedback motivates me immensely!
This game is very fun! The controls were a bit frustrating but all in all, it was a fun experience!
Nice game. Car physics a bit frustrating, especially trying to get back on the road. Would also have been nice to be able to deliver the pizza on either side of the van. Liked to large (for a game jam) map to explore. Good work!
