nice game buddy
Great creative movement in this normal-looking platformer! But enemies' fire rate is so high, and the bullet travel distance is so far that you can't dodge after delivering or shooting.
@bad-b4dguy Thank you for your feedback, Maybe I got a little too good at the game while testing, and didn't notice how hard it actually was. I am planning to continue development and release the game on like Newgrounds or something, I'll definitely add some sort of difficulty settings.
My highscore was 17000 :D
Pretty hard the first time but when you understand how the game works, its pretty fun (but a little hard because the enemies shoot fast ! )
Pretty cool game, nicely done !
Oh god how fast can these guys shoot!
I like the movement + shoot mechanic. It's made a little bit hard because of the enemies, but it's fun.
The shoot mechanic is very cool, but it took some time to understand. The game is quite difficult, I had a lot of problems dodging everything - and then suddenly a red guy spawns on top of me...
Very original with the shooting being the way that you move around. I also really like that you did the slow-down bullet time while aiming, that made me feel very powerful and awesome.
The movement/shooting mechanic felt great! The slo-mo while aiming was really helpful too. I wish the enemy bullets were easier to see and maybe a bit less frequent, but the gameplay is really addicting, nicely done!
@stormsword @yorsh I updated the game, reducing the enemies fire rate from 2 bullets per second to just one. I don't know if that is against the rules, if it is, please tell me, I will revert the changes. This is what they say in the rules: "Certain Bug Fixes are allowed. You can’t add new features, but if something broke or didn’t work correctly as you were finishing up, you can fix this after the deadline."
@floke I don't know how I didn't notice the bug where an enemy can just spawn directly on top of you, it is now fixed, enemies only spawn if a player is a certain distance away from their spawner.
@waffleworksgames I also fixed the bullets being too small to see, they are now a big bigger while their hitbox remained the same. Again, not sure if this is allowed, if it's not, please tell me, I will revert it.
@potatocouch It's fine imo. As long as you don't add stuff or improve arts/music. It's mostly up to your own judgement and what you prefer. I usually prefer to let the game exactly as it were after 48h of work, even if it's not perfect. But this time for example I too had to change a text on my game that was really bothering me.
Very fun game! Art and effects were very rudimentary but the gameplay was pretty good. Nice job!
simple but intuitive gameplay! I like how the recoil works and how I deliver the package with a triple boost lmao. Nice Job!
Interesting mechanics intertwined with a difficult challenge. I do believe that it starts off a bit too difficult. Maybe decrease the fire rate of the enemies by a bit and progressively increase them by using different types of enemies? The game is enjoyable, good job.
I get the game in theory, but in practice the game mechanics where movement(evasion) and attack are bound together are just not my cup of tea. It's just.. too hard or rather confusing for me I guess. Like, I want to shoot that red guy but then I get propelled the other way and hit that bullet. I know that's the game, it's just... I did get to around 19000, but even that was through sheer luck where red guys won't spawn near me.
The game has a very playable loop though and I did have some fun trying, at least. I didn't feel like it was the game's fault necessarily, so I won't rate it. Just felt like you might need this perspective.
Very fun and addictive! And quite challenging.
Got a highscore of 26000 after a few attempts. I love recoil-based movement so this was fun.
Fun game! The bullets fired can be used to both eliminate enemies and provide movement for the player, which is a clever design. I scored 18,000 points, but dodging enemy bullets was a bit difficult, haha, probably because my reflexes aren't fast enough. Overall, it's a great game!
This reminds me a lot of the bash ability in Ori and the Blind Forest. I wish there was a way for me to make subtle movements without launching myself. I would often find myself in positions where it was impossible for me to get to where I want to and trying to compute what I need to do to get there would get me hit by 5 bullets.
Interesting concept, quite fun, with a bit of balancing and polishing up could probably be a pretty decent mobile game, like a sort of weird variation on angry birds. Feel like its currently too hard with the enemies respawning pretty quickly, also maybe different level layouts to give more progression would probably be nice.
