The difficulty could be tweaked. it's a little easy to avoid all the bugs. However, the game's got some dope sounds, a nice ambience. It's pretty fun to dodge all the goons and get all the goods. Good time

xand 2017-08-01 03:47

This game is amazing.

pixelgriffin 2017-08-01 03:48

I agree that the difficulty was a little easy, but the whole experience is really solid. Very cinematic, very polished. Good work!

P.s. maybe increase the hitbox of healthpacks and a little more bullet response when hitting an enemy?

sondrian 2017-08-01 04:42

Nice job!

aevek 2017-08-01 04:52

Core of some really solid gameplay here. Controls felt tight and graphics were awesome. Loved the lighting.

peachtreeoath 2017-08-01 04:54

Very impressive graphics, loved the mood of the game. I kinda wish there was more of a ramp up in gameplay elements because I felt like I had seen everything after a few node.

wheffle 2017-08-01 04:55

Absolutely beautiful, by far the prettiest game I have played so far. Controls were tight and it was pretty fun. My criticisms would be that the gameplay was not super innovative and that it only loosely followed the theme. Great experience though, well done!

mesuko 2017-08-01 05:07

The experience is splendid.

leonlaci 2017-08-01 18:07

Looks amazing. The overall mood is amazing too. Good job! I feel like this game could easily be made into a full blown commercial game with some tweaks and more features!

sempra 2017-08-01 20:47

So smoooooth !! I came for the visuals and i stayed for the general mood. Well done for the ambient and the realisation ! It's a nice sweet and good game :D

fireshake 2017-08-01 21:59

Your game is awesome! Best Game I played since this Ludum Dare!

stracker 2017-08-01 22:26

Impressive visuals and effects, smooth gameplay, it just gets a bit repetitive after half the relays

valmay 2017-08-01 22:48

so cool! I gave it a go. the controls feel nice and are simple and the visuals & sounds together are very fitting, love it~

for feedback I think the only thing I'd change is having some kind of indicator of how much health the big red enemies have visually, I didn't notice how much more damage I had to do.

overall very awesome job in the time given!

thecodefactory 2017-08-01 23:25

The graphics were really good. The gameplay got a bit boring after a while though.

decentsauce 2017-08-02 00:06

I felt it was easier to just fly past all the enemies but the mood of this game is really nice. :)

vegard1992 2017-08-02 00:22

Nailed the mood. Kind of uncreative use of the theme. Gameplay-wise it's very monotonous. Quite nice graphics. The effects were good. Raggedness of terrain was a bit much. Terrain shadowing slightly off. The noise effect wasn't my cup of tea either. Alas, the best thing about this was definitely the camera; it was amazing! Very creative. Makes you want to center an entire game around it. Well done!

I uploaded my gameplay of this game on youtube, you can find it here

Thanks for being part of the stream :)

drazil100 2017-08-02 07:35

I came back and played this again after the stream and this time I played it in full screen at the maximum resolution of my monitor. The reticle was still hard for me to see to the point I wasn't even using it half the time however the art and mechanics are all really freaking good! This time I actually made it to the end of the game too! Great game I had a lot of fun!

erebus 2017-08-02 10:30

I had this on stream today. Again, REALLY GOOD GAME! Great job with it!!

boxfort 2017-08-02 11:19

Really great game, quite dark and oppressive atmosphere which i love, which is added to with the very striking lighting. I like the way the little guy floats around too. The bats can be a bit difficult when they swarm you but thats part of the challenge. Good job!

besslaaneshi 2017-08-02 11:23

Good job! Found some bugs xD but it's fun to play anyway :D

kapricorn-media 2017-08-02 13:47

This game had some amazing atmosphere and immersion factors. Great use of (I'm assuming) Unity's particle system, really takes effects to the next level.

Have to agree with most people that it was too easy. Could've racked up more fun points if it was more challenging or if something changed along the way. Overall, good, immersive game! Managed to turn on all generators.

mintarcade 2017-08-02 15:50

Really awesome game! It was quite challenging at first: I barely made it past relay 2. I tried a few more times and almost made it through the game (I was so close to relay 10). The bats are the most challenging as they are hard to hit and I'm not sure about the spiders as they almost can't hit me. The background music is great, the graphics are quite satisfying and really, it is just an amazing game. :)

iseeicy 2017-08-02 16:41

Fun game. Everything was pretty polished apart from the spider's pathing, which would bug out a bit in the last room.

I'll take my 60.00 credits and get out I guess :P

antti-haavikko 2017-08-02 17:08

We talked on your stream earlier, the web version indeed worked just fine. Few frame drops but I'm playing on a macbook anyway, not a "real" gaming computer.

Very nice and moody atmosphere, everything fit together pretty much perfectly (except for the UI, it looked kinda out of place). Especially loved the particle effects and the sweet sweet camera work you got going on. Would have liked some particles/sounds on hitting enemy to give feedback of a successful hit.

Speaking of enemies, they were a joke. The bats were so slow that they could be kited around for days and the spiders had so bad aim that they probably couldn't have hit me even if I was staying still. And the few times some enemy did manage to hit me, their damage was so low that there never was any urgency at all. And both the enemy types had too much health (probably the player too). Making them a bit harder (increasing speed, etc) and squishier would probably keep the difficulty the same (if you wanted to keep it on the easy side) but would make everything seem more impactful.

The aiming reticle was kinda hard to see. At some point the WebGL player glitched out and started showing my actual cursor, it made it a lot easier.

And finally, I don't even know for how many games I've left almost the same comment, spreading the gospel of your countrymen, the Vlambeer boys. Why have a shooting button at all if you never have to stop shooting? Maybe could be fixed by adding a reload mechanic or even following the theme and making shooting use energy which slowly replenishes so you'd need to conserve your shots a bit more.

rahtainka 2017-08-02 20:02

I like the atmosphere of your game. The light, sound, music and graphics fit verry well together. It would be nice to have more content like other enemies or different weppons to make it more interesting. Well done!

sgstair 2017-08-03 04:22

Looks very nice, super atmospheric and good sound. Simple mechanics but satisfying gameplay, probably largely because of the nice explosions. I feel the game overuses hordes of enemies a bit for difficulty, and I didn't ever see more than the one health pickup so it was pretty challenging to make it to the end. The aiming cursor is unfortunately really faint and hard to see. I also noticed that the ants have a limited view/attack angle, and sometimes you can find a location to hold at where they can't attack you.

One suggestion I mentioned on stream was to make the beacons light up the room they're in, I think that would have a nice effect. Overall really good work.

I played this on stream at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/163826993 - Time 2:08:15

deke 2017-08-03 13:22

This was such a fun little game and so incredibly atmospheric! I really loved the zero gravity gameplay and especially the interesting camera angle you used. Also I liked the little details like the gunshots actually moving depending on where the main character points his two laser guns at. There were a few technical hiccups like door animations bugging out, enemies moving out of bounds or hitboxes sometimes not registering, but all in all I had a ton of fun! And as I said on my stream: with more time investment this could become an amazing metroidvania-style game!

skosnowich 2017-08-03 21:44

The camera perspective is really great and the graphics look good. Overall the game feels pretty solid. However, I think some of the enemies have too much health. This doesn't necessarily make the game difficult, but rather a little bit annoying when you have to shoot down thousands of bats. :D Really good job altogether.

aurel300 2017-08-04 16:06

We streamed your game with Danae plays on Twitch. :) Here's a link:

[Danae streams Ludum Dare 39: Day 1, part 4: Alienation](https://youtu.be/Dywcua-3b8U?t=10m50s)

This game is simple, but well polished. I expected something else after reading the introduction, something less moody. But that's not a problem :) The game had a nice aesthetic to it, using very few colours and interesting shading for the walls. The controls and the camera were smooth. I only wish there was more difficulty over time – the game wasn't much of a challenge from beginning to end. Overall, it was quite a chill experience! Good job :)

saintheiser 2017-08-04 19:07

Game has great visuals and mood, but pretty boring to play with two types of enemies. Level design can be better. Good work for 48h anyway!

prodigalson 2017-08-04 20:04

Mood was very clear, buttonslayout simple and easy to remember though not sure where "running out of power" came into play. Everything was going well until a swarm of bats surrounding me and I could not get away from them :( lol

The only feedback I have is to have some sort of feedback when I hit an enemy, like flashing white, and maybe reduce their health at least for the initial 2 or 3 power stations. A large number of easy to defeat enemies is really fun versus small batches of enemies with high health while my weapon especially when there's little to no rewards upon defeated them since they don't drop power or upgrades. Unless I was supposed to avoid them and run away, then that makes sense! :)

bombjack 2017-08-06 20:32

Amazing art and atmophere! good job.
