LD38 — A Small World

Five Minute Fire Fight by Josh Riley 2017-05-16T16:00:07Z

The AI was a little unforgiving, it kept building on that same spot right after I destroyed their building. While it didn't really matter on large worlds, I couldn't manage to win on small/tiny worlds due to this. The music was great, the graphics could be polished a bit though. (the different kinds of buildings are too similar in shape/color) This was really fun to play, good job!

Extraction by Criobite 2017-05-01T04:39:26Z

Nice point and click game! It was a bit unclear how to get out of the password screen, and the game was a bit short but really fun to play. I would definitely play an extended version of this! :)

U-Turn by benjamin 2017-05-07T13:59:59Z

Nice entry! I played it for about an hour and couldn't finish it but I was close. (14 flags) The level design is on point, I like how there are not that many obstacles/hazards but you always feel threatened. Even if the game gets repetitive after a while, it's fun to learn from your mistakes and it's also quite addictive!

Ruined Topology by jebouin 2017-05-01T08:27:55Z

Thanks for playing!

@wildmusketeer Figuring how the rooms are connected is definitely an intended gameplay mechanic. I should have added some visual feedback for the special tiles to reduce the confusion though.

@ikigaiseitetsu You can shoot them with your gun! Maybe it was not clear enough, but I didn't want the coins to be too easy to get.

Ruined Topology by jebouin 2017-05-01T17:01:47Z

@ryguydavis I'm glad you enjoyed the game! As for the shadows, I usually scale everything up so that things are pixelated. This time I used a new game framework and I wasn't fully comfortable with it so I neglected some details like this one.

SUPER Space Barrel by aamatniekss 2017-05-01T05:48:12Z

Your game is harder than it looks! Sometimes an enemy spawns right next to you, and that's a bit annoying, I think the spawn animation should have been a bit longer, or not happening right next to the player. The graphics are simple but looks really nice and the game plays well overall. My best score is 17 so far!

It's a Small World, So Let's Crash It into Things by simonhutchinson 2017-05-01T06:33:38Z

I wish the game lasted longer though and there is definitely room for improvement. I like the use of the theme and the audio is spon on. Beware! :D

DNAPet by Yirggzmb 2017-05-01T04:56:15Z

I played this for quite a few iterations to see what the creatures could look like and the incubation still gets boring after a while. Maybe you could consider making that part of the game a bit more challenging depending on the creatures the player is trying to combine. The game definitely makes for some ridiculous situations (in a good way), like a pile of rocks using the wheel. Even if it lacks visual feedback, it was still fun to explore the different possibilities. I hope you continue working on it after the jam!

some kind of katamari rts by jacobpeltola 2017-04-27T04:00:19Z

Well that's a start, here are some ideas for improvements: - Make the player visible at all times, it's a bit confusing when you start the game and you can't see your planet, I didn't even know I owned one. - Make the planet grow slower, it easily gets bigger than the whole screen. - Add friction to the planets, I know it's in space but I think it's frustrating when you want to stop somewhere. - Add audio, it's often underrated in game jams but some sfx and a background music greatly improve the mood of the game. - Add some enemies, maybe some fighters, more gameplay elements, etc I hope you continue working on this! :)

The Bugs World by gagapete 2017-05-15T05:04:37Z

Interesting game, it's fun to play and the mechanics are simple enough. Maybe too simple, it gets repetitive after a few plays as the best strategy is to gather the most food possible and the AI always does it better than me. It definitely needs more gameplay elements, I hope you continue working on this! :)

The Deep by GertJohnny 2017-05-01T05:13:18Z

Even if you can't see the outside of the ship, this game is so immersive! I played for 45 minutes and haven't finished it yet, you managed to make an impressive amount of content for a jam game. The controls are unusual but really fun to figure out, I like the minimlist art style and the sounds are on point. Awesome game overall!

Conquery - Conquer The World! by Tanay 2017-05-12T14:01:56Z

Interesting gameplay! The controls are a bit unusual, I don't mind the mouse movement, but it gets annoying when you move the cursor out of the game window and the player stops moving. The game is quite short and easy (I beat it on my second try), I'd like to play an improved version of it. :)

Asteroid Hopper by yyam 2017-05-16T16:47:52Z

Classic puzzle game but well executed. The music is nice and the pixel art looks good, maybe the broken/semi-broken rocks are a bit hard to differentiate. The game is really smooth and fun to play, great job!

The Ludum Show by ketchupcoke 2017-05-16T18:51:19Z

I escaped! Nice game, the graphics are not exceptional but they are quite coherent. I also had a bug where the cursor would stay highlighted everywhere but that didn't have any impact on the overall experience. Congratulations on your first entry!

Hops and Fever Dreams by Antti Haavikko 2017-05-01T05:30:24Z

The bunny physics are a bit frustrating, it feels like most of the levels rely on being able to time the jumps correctly. I like the idea, though, and the graphics are nice. I hope you continue working on this!

Little Sky Farm by H4kor 2017-05-01T09:42:05Z

I got stuck on my first try because I wasted my wheat. I did much better on my second try, though I still don't really understand how/when to use the oven and the mill. I like the atmosphere of this game, the day/night cycle adds a lot to it. The numbers on the interface are a bit hard to read, and the graphics in general can be improved a lot, but the game is already lots of fun to plays as is. Congratulations on your first entry!

flat search by ludonaut 2017-05-01T03:57:01Z

At first I thought I was being teleported back to the same place when I hit a wall. I thought I was stuck in the same room when I realised I was just constantly being moved on top of the walls haha. You made it in an hour so I don't know if there is a goal, but I think your game has potential for a great glitchy atmosphere. I would like to see this improved with audio and maybe others things to do than just move.

RASHLANDER by ryguydavis 2017-05-01T14:18:36Z

At first I thought the ship's movement was going to be frustrating. It took me some time to get used to it, but in my opinion getting used to the controls was part of the fun. I felt like giving up when I repeatedly crashed on (or next to) the landing platform. But after many tries I can finally land on them 100% of the time when the landing site is clear of any other obstacle. As you said, the game is ridiculously hard (I can't get past the third level), but it is also quite addictive. I might try again later to see if I can do better. Good job on this one !

Space Snake by Hunter Loftis 2017-05-12T14:48:20Z

I really like the little details like how the health is displayed and the simple color scheme. The controls are a bit frustrating, but the game is fun and I kept playing for a while until I won. That was fun to play!

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Snowmans Dilemma by JCMonkey 2017-12-10T09:59:10Z

I like the idea! I think the game would benefit having smaller levels and a snowman that melts faster, that way you would have to plan your moves more carefully. Some of the levels were so big I had to kill some snowmen in order to locate the level and door. Anyway, good job on your game :)

you are the coin master by Sean S. LeBlanc 2017-12-11T05:27:44Z

The glitch effect is interesting, and I'm impressed that you made the whole game in only 3h. I found the controls a bit frustrating but that was still an enjoyable experience. Nice work!

Ominos by differentname 2017-12-11T05:07:14Z

It's quite challenging, I like the unusual pieces. It would be nice to show the next shapes, that would make the game more interesting. Good job on your entry!

Alchegator by torcado 2017-12-10T07:36:36Z

Interesting game, kept me playing until the end but I had to use the guide to understand how to combine items without crushing them. Apart from some minor collision bugs, pushing/holding/throwing items felt very natural. The graphics are pretty and the audio is great. My only issue with the game is that I never felt like I had too many items, I think the room could have been a bit smaller to counter this.

Solid entry, I enjoyed it a lot!

Speedy GOO-zales 3D by kristoverek 2017-12-10T11:38:51Z

That's a fun game, it's so upsetting to see your dinner outrun you AND take all the speed-ups!

Pixel Cartel by automatonvx 2017-12-10T16:55:17Z

I like this kind of game, it was simple but still enjoyable. The wall collisions were a bit sticky, and it made the indoor fights frustrating at times. I liked the music and the overall atmosphere. Good job on your game!

Jonathan The Sorcerer by ncannasse 2017-12-09T13:46:00Z

Impressive level design! It took me ~1 hour to get to the last level, and I still can't beat it. I also had trouble figuring out what to do because the holes and the stones looked so similar.

Toxic Towers by MiltonNH25 2017-12-10T11:13:06Z

This is a very challenging platformer game, the theme is well integrated. I like how you don't die if you hit the toxic gas, but it gets worse. The level design seemed a bit too random, maybe it was meant to show a destroyed world, but it's hard to tell with only one kind of tile. Nice game, I enjoyed it :)

Cardhoard by HacksawUnit 2017-12-10T12:00:01Z

One of the best entries I've played so far, this is so addictive! I don't have much else to say, this is a really polished arcade game, you did a fantastic job!

Hungry Dino by nax_89 2017-12-10T09:12:12Z

Cute game! I needed more challenge so I made [my own level](https://pastebin.com/raw/SRPNddKs).

It's quite hard, tell me if you can beat it! :)

Super Goop! by Be3n2 2017-12-10T10:40:10Z

The camera is a bit frustrating. When I'm climbing platforms, I'd prefer it centered on the character in order to see what is below. It's even more frustating when you have to jump but you can't see where the next platform is, like in the last two levels.

I like your use of the theme, and the graphics are nice. Good job on your game!

A simple man by edmond00 2017-12-09T05:23:53Z

The world is so big, it got boring after some time to walk back and forth. Nice game though, I really liked the leaf physics!

The explorer by Stepan Shabalin 2017-12-09T04:55:57Z

The clicking gameplay is not a bad idea but there is no way to know where you're going to land and no way to correct your trajectory, so it gets really frustrating. The generated levels are a nice touch (though this doesn't make your game a roguelike, see [this](https://bp.io/howroguelike/) :)

All Followers Lost by Tim Ruswick 2017-12-09T06:25:39Z

This is sooo fun to play! You always need to move to get your own followers out of the way, and this turns a simple arena shooter into a very dynamic game. The voice samples are funny, too bad there is no music!

GooBall by Ashtrail 2017-12-10T06:52:10Z

Interesting take on the theme, I played it for a couple of iterations but I wasn't close to saving all the goo. It's hard to tell if it's better to use the 3rd form or to save the goo as soon as you get some. My strategy was to use it only to go to the last level that gives more goo (I think), then forget about it for the rest of the game.

The game could benefit giving the player more feedback (What are the pink walls? Why would I want to change levels? Why can't I stop the charcter?). Of course these questions are answered on the game page, but it would feel more natural to explain that in game.

Congrats on your first compo :)

Rocket Boom by Filipe Leal 2017-12-09T05:40:41Z

I like the idea, the rocket movement is interesting and fits the theme. Maybe the levels could have used the controlling multiple rockets at once gameplay a bit more. It's also quite frustrating to restart the whole game when you lose a level.

The Speed of Greed by C1FR1 2017-12-11T05:54:43Z

I like the idea, and the fact that you have to go the long and hard way to avoid most of the coins to prepare for the second level. I hope you practice your drawing/animation skills for the next jam to make your game more appealing!

Theme - The Game by Cubeeo 2017-12-10T10:16:35Z

The beginning made me laugh (especially the sounds), then I was a bit confused during the shmup part. The collisions are a bit weird, I have no idea if you can destroy the theme at the top and what to do next.

5/5 Theme :D

Droplet by ManBeardGames 2017-12-09T06:00:03Z

Not the most innovating game I've played, but really relaxing and it kept me playing for a while. As the circles get bigger, it gets harder to tell if the ones you want to eat are actually smaller or bigger than yours (and that's a good thing). I think the left/right click is a bit confusing because you tend to forget which click corresponds to which color. I would have just inverted the color when the player clicks.

Good job on your first entry!

Sky-Corsair by Sozey 2017-12-09T07:50:41Z

The ship controls fine, though the camera is too static, it feels like you are moving the world around rather than moving the ship. The goal of the game could be a bit clearer, I had the choice between gathering water or shooting pirates, so I did the latter because it was way more fun.

Overall it's a great game, I hope you continue working on this! :)

Breakpoint by Quade Zaban 2017-12-10T06:06:48Z

It was a bit confusing at first, but then I realised you could turn the camera around and I understood why I kept falling. The controls were a bit frustrating considering the kind of platforming challenges the game gives you. This was still an enjoyable experience, the game looks really good, and the audio is nice too!

The Quiet Mind by broccoli 2017-12-10T17:26:07Z

Perfect controls and player movement for a platformer, some parts were hard but I never felt cheated. Just a small detail but I missed some text, especially at the end, because I thought pressing E would make it go faster. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the pretty pixel art. Congrats on your game!

LD53 — Delivery

Air Delivery by pianoman373 2023-05-03T05:17:18Z

I loved the setting and overall mood of the game! Very polished with a lot of content for a compo entry, well done!

Superfetch Dog by benjamin 2023-05-05T22:11:46Z

A simple idea that works so well, this is really fun to play and the twist was great! I loved the mood and found the music quite relaxing (until you encounter a boar). My record so far is level 17, I wish the game would show you where the ball was before the game over scene in order to see what I missed. Anyway incredible job, reminded me of U-Turn :)

Marble Collection by paruthidotexe 2023-05-06T20:14:54Z

I found it a bit confusing that the victory screen says "game over" and it took me a while to figure out what the single-letter buttons were for, other than that the gameplay was fun and intuitive enough. That's a good start, I just wish there were more levels :)

The Deliverer by automatonvx 2023-05-04T04:04:10Z

That was fun! Level 3 took me several tries to beat but the game never felt unfair. Just nitpicking but maybe you could have made it so you need to go back to the exit as it felt a bit abrupt ending the level right when saving the last survivor.

Decrypting Handwriting by pauljs 2023-05-03T02:56:20Z

Very unique entry, the last address took me a while to figure out!

Deliver Them by baknik 2023-05-04T02:30:06Z

Cool idea and execution, this could become very addicting with more upgrades and objectives! I found an easy strategy where I just keep moving in one direction, if I only stop to abduct an animal the cannons will aim too low and leave enough time to abduct. It's still pretty hard to aim this way though haha

FredEx by ScrapMetal 2023-05-04T03:25:47Z

As others have said the physics could be balanced a bit, right now even without moving one of the items will fall out of the trunk. I think having at least a larger trunk would make the game less frustrating. Other than that it was still fun trying to deliver as many packages as I could! My strategy was to use a controller and just slightly move the stick right. It only worked until I got stuck on a rock and the mattress fell out haha

Special Delivery by Ismael Rodriguez 2023-05-05T21:00:09Z

This was really fun to play and the graphics are so cool, I loved the box animation! I only wish there were more levels with the pinball mechanics but this is already impressive for a jam game.

Get To The Summit by Russ Moonbase 2023-05-06T03:48:08Z

I enjoyed it, the level design was great and the giant smashing the road was unexpected! I like how parts of the road are already smashed to imply the giant has been there for a while. I managed to bring all the barrels to the top on my first try but played it very safe and it took me almost 10 minutes haha

Level Delivery System by Le Don 2023-05-04T04:41:49Z

I like the idea of having wildly different characters that can complete every level in some way, very ambitious for a solo jam! Unfortunately I ran into a bug where the game would freeze when I got hit or completed a level and I had to reload to continue playing. Here is what the console [looked like](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1p07vzdcieSu2ILlyDL0gCbvBvQFooKJX/view) if that helps.

Forklift-em-up by BadPiggy 2023-05-03T19:45:54Z

Very satisfying to play! I liked the idea of the health bar also doubling as a timer to force you to keep moving. I just wish there was a bit more enemy variety to keep things interesting. Otherwise I though the mood was great and the game felt polished, good job!

Moonrabbit Collection by DaFluffyPotato 2023-05-06T02:53:41Z

I love the mood of this game, beautiful and relaxing. I found the digging sound to be quite satisfying as well! I got a bit lost and it took me some time to find the items, maybe making the areas a bit more unique would have helped. Anyway there is already a lot going on here for a compo game, great job!

Paddy's Portage by Spacespytv 2023-05-03T21:48:53Z

Very cool game, the graphics look great, I loved the bouncy animations and the music fit perfectly! It took me some time to get used to the aiming mechanic, maybe you could have just used 8-directional aiming since I didn't feel like I had to do precise throws. Anyway that was very fun to play, good job!

Delivery by jakeblake 2023-05-03T22:21:26Z

Interesting idea, it was fun trying to get the timing right for the different boxes. Also I didn't really mind the intro though you could have added a way to display the entire line of text when clicking so that players can read at their own pace. Congrats on your first LD :)

Unwanted Postman by ironcutter 2023-05-06T20:03:39Z

A classic game that fits the theme well. I don't have the best aim but I enjoyed seeing improvements in my score after retrying multiple times! My only complaint is that 2 minutes felt a bit long, I would have preferred shorter rounds with quick breaks in between and each round can have unique enemies or events (like the dog). Otherwise that was fun, great job!

Super Buffed Delivery Service by josep93 2023-05-06T20:53:40Z

That was hilarous! It took me a few tries to land the heart correctly but that was fine since the game is quite short and I wish it had more levels!

The living deadlivery by Stingby12 2023-05-04T03:02:50Z

Very cool puzzle game, the difficulty was perfect for me and the twist was great! I also liked the scanline effect, I didn't know that was possible in PuzzleScript. My only complaint is that I felt the last level was a bit too easy, I could just move each of the 4 pistons without thinking of blocking the others, but maybe that was on purpose. Other than that all the puzzles were fun to figure out, great job!

Warehouse Tycoon by Ixil Miniussi 2023-05-05T23:22:37Z

Great puzzle game, the sound effects are very relaxing! I don't have much else to say except that it can be a bit frustrating when the last piece leaves you with a 1 block gap and forces you to throw a piece away. Congrats on your first solo jam!

Pack It Up by thomaspixelart 2023-05-06T22:07:48Z

This game kept me playing for while, the gameplay is engaging and reminded me of Leap Day. My game also uses this “you control box” concept, so it was fun seeing it used in a different way. I loved the visuals, the music and sound design are great and fit the game perfectly. Congrats to the team!

LD54 — Limited Space

Plan It Out! by Decipator 2023-10-06T00:56:03Z

Very relaxing game! I accidentally erased an important event on the last week and it took a while to reappear, cluttering the calendar with many similar "neutral" events. I think it would be great to reduce the number of such events and as others have suggested add constraints to important events to make it a bit more challenging. Anyways that's a well executed and creative game, I'd love to play a longer version of this idea!

Boxed Boxes by jebouin 2023-10-03T02:59:36Z

Thanks everyone for playing and leaving feedback!

@caryoscelus Sadly I only realized after the jam that level 4 was way too hard due to the "red herring" with the spikes. I should have removed the ground to make sure the player don't try to put the box there and maybe find a better introduction for the "standing on the dashed box" mechanic. Anyway thanks a lot for the recording, this will be very useful when I start working on the post-jam version!

BLOCKO 2000 DELUX MEGA PULSAR BIG THING XTREME..! .. Maybe not.. .. . by INCD021 2023-10-07T02:25:47Z

Cool puzzle game! The rules are simple but make for some interesting levels. My only complaint is that there is no undo button, though the levels were not too complicated so it wasn't too bad. Congrats on your first Godot game :)

This Game Only Weighs 8 KB! by UnidayStudio 2023-10-06T01:14:17Z

Very original take on the theme, and it runs perfectly on linux with Wine. I agree we need a new "technical" category for entries like these!

Shrimpwrecked! by Mathstr0fficial 2023-10-05T01:46:57Z

I really liked the gameplay loop and the mood was great! As others have said the minigame can be unfair, and even with winnable rooms you start quite close to the enemies with little time to react. I don't have much else to say, good job :)

Package Express by SpicyMarcus 2023-10-07T03:28:09Z

Very fun game, I like how you can juggle the boxes on the conveyor belt! For me day 1 and 2 were fine, but it quickly became way too hard on day 3 where I couldn't even see the truck behind all the packages and ended up burning 20 of them.

The Dude with a Wolf, a Goat and a Cabbage ~ A modern interpretation by CaptainDreamcast 2023-10-05T01:19:02Z

That was hilarious! I had so much fun trying all the possible endings. I thought the music fit well with the humour and there was a lot of story for a compo game!

Floppy Drive Lemonade Stand by Jayjader 2023-10-03T02:38:42Z

I like games that take place in a user interface, I find it quite immersive. I'm not sure whether the news ticker had any kind of effect on the floppy disk sales, maybe you could add more feedback, for example show who bought the disks. Nice work :)

Hazel & Hector by cassowary 2023-10-03T03:31:26Z

I love the cute graphics and the audio fits the game well! I especially liked the unique sound effects. The puzzles are great and well balanced, though they started to feel a bit repetitive by the end of the game. Overall a very polished entry, great job!

Floodwater by John Gabriel 2023-10-07T04:28:50Z

Cool sokoban game! You made a great job of introducing the mechanics and everything feels very polished. I just wish the game was a bit longer!

@technonugget Not sure if someone told you yet but Pico-8 can export the whole game as a "cartridge" png image, see [P8PNGFileFormat](https://pico-8.fandom.com/wiki/P8PNGFileFormat)

Ominos by OgelGames 2023-10-03T05:56:49Z

This game is quite addicting! I like that you don't have to fill the whole board but follow some other rules instead. I played for a while and still couldn't beat the last level!

If I Fits, I Sits! by cheesepencil 2023-10-06T04:24:44Z

A cute simple game, congrats on your first tic80 entry :)

Less is Moore by Aurailus 2023-10-03T04:27:55Z

One of my favorite entries so far! The idea is basic but the different phone parts add a lot to it. The story is very engaging, I especially enjoyed the animated dialogue lines. My only complaint is that there is no audio at all, but given the amount of content and polish, it's already quite impressive for a compo game!

Age of TinyVillage by Halvardo13 2023-10-05T16:25:45Z

Fun little RTS, I'm bad at this kind of games but that one wasn't too complicated! As others have said there could be some improvements to the control and AI but for a compo game it's not too important. The graphics and audio are simple but they work well together. Great job :)

Super Low Memory Bot by LaserPanzerWal 2023-10-05T17:45:18Z

It's a well executed classic game, and the crates are a nice addition! I wanted to see more levels but for a compo game there is already a good amount of content. And thanks for including gamepad support, it adds a lot to the immersion! Just nitpicking but I wish there was a fullscreen button, or maybe that was intended for the retro console feel :)

Space Way by MrSamafu 2023-10-03T03:54:08Z

The puzzle idea is straightforward but well executed. I wish there were more mechanics and levels, but for a compo game this is already great. I also liked the audio, it felt very moody and a bit scary!

ICEomation by sabasa 2023-10-07T16:57:17Z

Cool idea! It took me some time to get used to the mechanics but I managed to survive for almost 5 minutes on my second try. I didn't find the barrels very useful, since I still had to put the ice back in the ocean I could just grab water on the way back. Maybe also having a more expensive building that launches the ice so that you don't have to go to the ocean would help. Good job!

CERT by tjm 2023-10-06T03:42:59Z

That was awesome! I'm not very familiar with paper puzzles but this book was not too complicated and had a lot of content for a compo entry. I'd like to play more like this, do you have any recommendations on similar books?

Nice use of the theme, I loved the creepy music and sound effects!

Prickle by Kultuk 2023-10-05T18:57:00Z

Interesting level design, the music is really cute and this new artstyle looks great! I think the game could use more QoL features like an undo button or more explanation on why a rotation fails. Other than that the game felt polished and I had a lot of fun, well done!

I had a lot of fun slingshotting around asteroids, the movement is very satisfying once you get used to it. It's great that you had time to add multiple game modes with different music too! My only complaint is that the game could use more sound effects. Well done!

Animal Teleporting by JamesW 2023-10-06T18:27:43Z

That was a fun puzzle game! The controls work well, there are many animals with various constraints so the game doesn't get boring and the levels are well balanced and interesting. Just nitpicking but I found the sound effects to be really loud compared to the music and I found a bug where the restart button at the end of the last level doesn't disappear after clicking it.

Cold and Unforgiving by ViktorTheGreat 2023-10-07T16:30:49Z

I liked the story and the mood, very spooky. The portraits add a lot to the characters, though it would have been great to have more backstory to make the choice more impactful. Congrats on your first Ludum Dare!

I don't know by addaellis 2023-10-07T05:36:34Z

It's refreshing to play a text-based adventure! I like how the room changes while you move. I thought I explored everything but still couldn't find the exit so maybe there is something I missed. I did spend a while sleeping just to see all the different messages haha

Tiny Tower by Martin Bousquet 2023-10-05T18:26:45Z

Short and sweet, I liked how the different mechanics combine and they work well with the limited space of each floor. The movement was too fast for me on a 120Hz monitor but was fine on 60Hz. I also closed the game once I reached the top and had to come back when I read the other comments!

TOBISHA by aerial 2023-10-05T17:07:05Z

That's an interesting take on the theme! As others have said it felt too easy at the beginning, maybe some upgrades to spend your cash on and some more risky offers (that attract more enemies) would have been great. I lasted 34 rounds and got a bit bored by round 20 since there was only one kind of enemy, though the shooting part felt great with all the effects and cool lighting!

Keep Sailing by KnightGames 2023-10-06T17:45:49Z

I like this take on the theme! And nice choice of music, it adds a lot to the atmosphere of the game. Some choices were very difficult to make, I lost Jim right before being rescued :(

Savespace by Bananamaster 2023-10-07T05:08:57Z

Interesting concept! I'm not good at it and could only beat a couple levels but I'd play a more fleshed out version of this game with maybe a slower difficulty curve :)

LD55 - Hell Binder by pebkac 2024-04-22T23:25:55Z

Interesting use of the theme and I loved the creepy trap sound effect! I wish the game was a bit longer though, as you said in the ending scene there is a lot of potential for more enemies and unlocks.

Alien Crab in the Extamaze by jebouin 2024-04-17T17:59:55Z

Thanks everyone for playing and leaving feedback!

@fusionnist Glad you liked it! And thanks for the bug report, I don't know how I could miss that, I'll fix it after the rating period has ended.

Alien Crab in the Extamaze by jebouin 2024-05-02T03:00:21Z

@pkenney Thanks for playing and for the detailed feedback! There are actually some cases where the game fails to queue inputs, for example during combat. My main inspiration was Tactical Nexus (an other obscure puzzle RPG with an insane amount of content) but I also discovered TGGW recently so maybe I was subconsciously influenced by it. I really liked its food/rest mechanics though I only managed to make it to Lab 1 haha

Circle Tracer Cookie Defense by pkenney 2024-04-17T04:36:05Z

I like this idea, it feels very responsive and the sound effects are great! I wouldn't really mind having more challenge in the form of enemies that can break your line as long as they are clearly visible and have a predictable trajectory. I found the tutorial to be a bit misleading since you can still clear it after eating the round face, only later I realized I was supposed to keep them alive. Also it would be great to have a game over screen that shows your final score, I think I managed to get more than 20 points but it was pretty hectic and I couldn't keep my eyes on the counter.

The Basis of All Creations by alaah 2024-04-23T02:27:14Z

I like this kind of experimental games! It was fun figuring things out though it took me a while to realize I couldn't get the rest of the ingredients from clicking around. I had to use hints for some of the recipes and I still don't understand the one for the ghost. I also accidentally spoiled myself some of the creature names from the debug traces. Now I wonder what happens when you use a whole human at the end...

Unpacking Armageddon by notnasiul 2024-04-22T22:53:09Z

I enjoyed this arcade take on Sokoban, I had fun and just wish there was more to it!

Raccoon Tycoon by netguy204 2024-04-23T00:56:50Z

That's an interesting puzzle idea! As others have said, I think having to complete multiple screens in a row with a set number of donuts could have been communicated better. Maybe you could instead make it a single large screen and replace intermediate goals with collectibles. Or if you want to keep the multi-screen approach I think it would be clearer if it had multiple levels with the first one being just one screen.

Anyways the story is hilarious and I had fun, good job!

Bail Out! by Historymaker118 2024-04-16T21:17:33Z

Interesting take on the theme, it took me a few tries but I barely made it with 2 seconds left and an extra $10! Just nitpicking but the camera doesn't seem to be centered and made it risky to move in the top/left direction. If you continue working on this it would also be great to have the camera look ahead when on the skateboard. The graphics are nice and work well with the low resolution, I also find it very cool that the whole source fits in an image!

Ritual by Doumbaga 2024-04-20T01:24:16Z

I think this is the first time I see this kind of game for Ludum Dare, very cool! I like how you reused the symbols in the wire-cutting task, and having to look at the window also adds a lot to the atmosphere. Just nitpicking but I thought the font for some of the in-game text (the timer, grimoire input) didn't really fit. Anyways I had fun despite playing it alone, great work!

Wonder Whistle by Ismael Rodriguez 2024-04-17T07:37:55Z

Simple idea with a great execution, I had a lot of fun solving the levels and the corner bump was very cool! The visuals feel polished and the audio fits perfectly. I don't have much to say other than I wanted more at the end :)

Good Night! Sleep with the Demon! by edugpinheiro 2024-04-23T05:28:23Z

Cute little game! As others have said, more feedback around the hit/miss window would be great. I could see this being expanded with more levels, maybe decoy sheep or sheep that turn around. Good job :)

Really cool bullet hell, kept me playing for a while! I like the variety in spells and bullet patterns, I had a lot of fun trying to complete the most complicated spells though the last boss took me a couple tries to beat. My only complaint is that the screen shake was a bit too strong, especially after casting a spell when you still have to dodge bullets. I also didn't realize you could go through the boss without taking damage. Other than that the mood was great, congrats!

Dungeon of the Bone Summoner by itsBoats 2024-04-16T21:58:18Z

It was fun figuring out a strategy in the early stage. It took me a couple tries to understand the mechanics but after getting enough skellies it became a bit too easy (or maybe I didn't wait long enough, I stopped after reaching ~200 slimes).

Circle of Life by UniOwl 2024-04-19T23:27:42Z

That's a very cool summoning mechanic! I felt like I was choosing gems a bit randomly and it didn't help that it takes a while for your latest creatures to show up since the beginning is quite easy. Then it suddenly got really hard so I didn't feel like my best creatures were actually that strong. Anyway the game is well polished for a jam entry, the visuals look great and this mechanic has a lot of potential with a better difficulty curve. Good job!

Ballad of Lead Shroud by KrummSakura 2024-04-23T00:37:31Z

Interesting story, I liked the creepy atmosphere and the environment looked great. Just nitpicking but the way letters appear one by one made some words warp to the next line and would break my reading flow a bit. Congrats on your first LD!

bergs by burnttoastdev 2024-04-17T00:25:44Z

Great game, the graphics are cute and the sound effects are hilarious! I liked the level design, my only complaint is that failing the level by going too far left or right feels a bit too punishing and unexpected (though falling down the pit makes sense). Congrats on your first Ludum Dare :)

Skelemancy by Shlolo 2024-04-17T01:49:30Z

The art and animations are very polished, I just wished there were more levels. Congrats on your first game jam!
