I could, in fact, not summon the beast. Just slimes. I guess I had to somehow follow the recipies in the book? But I didn't seem to have the right ingredients. Really like the art style and the mood of the game though, and if I got some more hints I'd like to try some more.
I did summon some large creatures and managed to rack up a good pool of resources. But in my manic try to quicken my acquirement of resources I managed to kill myself! I really liked it. It has some resemblance to my own game. Nice entry!
Very cool! I point-and-click boot-strap summoning game. I love the atmosphere, and seeing my little spared guys sitting in the sun! Didn't quite get the last entry, but loved sitting in the ambiance! Great entry!

Added a walkthrough to the itch.io page. Anyone who gets stuck, please take a peek because it's important to experience the ending. (@linus-lindberg)

Very cool game! I enjoyed the puzzle solving, and finding ways to mass produce various "ingredients". I recorded a video of myself playing to provide extra feedback.

I'll applaud the bold choice to be experimental/confusing. Game jams are all about experimenting and getting outside your comfort zone!
The posterized graphics is a nice look, and fit the moody theme of the game.
Very tricky! Found myself squinting at that recipe book lot, but the ending felt very satisfying in spite of that. Enjoyed the visual style and music a ton. Loved being able to spare the spider and keep it as a pet.

Not as good as bagelseeker though 🙄
I enjoyed the mystery! I'm very slow to figure these sorts of games out but I really do like them - still, thanks for the tips ;) A fun puzzle accompanied by good graphics; I liked the themes behind all the ingredients and summons. And what a glorious way to end it all :D
Came back to this one and managed to finish it. Very cool game, really enjoyed the flow once I started to grasp it more :)

Love the concept and the aesthetic. Mad props to a fellow Godot developer, especially one working in 3D (though mine doesn't look *nearly* as stylish as yours!)
That said, *ugggggh* at the recipe requirements. I figured out a few basics like the Slime, Cubosaurus, Mist, and Spider, but why oh why does the game demand so many Wolf Fangs when they're so hard to come by? I'm lucky to squeeze out two or three with an investment of *hundreds* of ml of Arterial Blood into a Cubosaurus, and the endgame requires *well over a hundred?* Screw that! ^_^;
Is there something I'm missing? The return on Void Essence to Wolf Fangs seems better, but the only way I can figure out to get Void Essence is summoning Slimes, and those require Silver Hair which is in limited supply.
Side note: gripes aside, I will still take your straightforward "put numbers in, get numbers out" approach to summoning to the kinds of confusing, unexplained logic puzzles I've seen put forward as "summoning mechanics" in other entries this Ludum Dare. The only thing I really take issue with is the fact that hotspots are not highlighted - I had to click around randomly a bit to find the mixing bowl, and I didn't find the scissors at all until I broke down and read the walkthrough.

I like this kind of experimental games! It was fun figuring things out though it took me a while to realize I couldn't get the rest of the ingredients from clicking around. I had to use hints for some of the recipes and I still don't understand the one for the ghost. I also accidentally spoiled myself some of the creature names from the debug traces. Now I wonder what happens when you use a whole human at the end...

Fantastic game! The mood and graphics are truly amazing, and the puzzle to summon the final creature is very cool. However, I agree with the comments that it's a bit hard to understand how the puzzle works. Nonetheless, my congratulations; the game is genuinely impressive, creating this in less than 48 hours is no easy feat with this quality of the game.

always have found it very exciting to explore weird handwritings in game in order to find proper solution. love it!

Beautiful game, impeccable mood, and the final summons gave me a chuckle. Some of the tips from the walkthrough were necessary to get me going and I can kind of see things in the notebook that might have been trying to push me that way like "10? 100?" for the ratio thing. I see where it was going even if it wasn't quite there, and I'm glad there was an external hint system. Good work!
This is good. Pungent. I had to use some of the hints but tried not to. I think the puzzles were a little too obtuse for my taste but for a strongly individual game like this you should follow your own justice. That said the piecemeal, individually-hidable nature of the hints was itself very good presentation, letting people only compromise themselves as far as they wanted and no further.
The strong filter made the otherwise limited 3D very characterful. Likewise, the muted and sparse sense of the music, and the stiff presentation. All these things came together to create 5* mood.
I enjoyed allowing creatures to live and seeing them (all on top of one another, admittedly) abide under the window. A good small feature.
Technical issues: The music cut out after a while (half an hour?) and I couldn't exit fullscreen. Running the .exe on Windows 10.

Very fleshed out and experimental. Love that in a game jam. The graphics give it such a nice retro vibe, still being modern.
Well done for an interesting game. Love the art design, really helped set a mood for the game. Excellent work!

I really enjoyed this, the vibe is awesome, and the mysterious recipes were very well done. I do feel a bit ripped off by that last recipe though, it was so dang expensive so I didn’t want to invest until I had all the ingredients… but actually you’re meant to only partially make it then the game gives you the rest?!? That’s the only bit that felt unintuitive to me. How one part of the recipe book was torn off, it’d be really awesome if there was some mechanical you had to solve (or maybe give the right items) to unlock the other half and get even more cryptic recipes!
