thats a fun take on the theme lol summoned ;D great work, I enjoyed it
Cool take on the theme. Graphics are nice but the game lagged for me in web. I would have liked a tutorial in the game. Otherwise well done, you made a cool little game :)
a lot of fun! i have already played 3 times and want to keep playing to get the highest score!!
Awesome entry, our team had a lot of fun just barely seeping out a win at the very end. The challenge was hard but achievable after 2-3 plays which feels right for a game jam. Excellent work and good luck!
Cool game! I struggled with the web build sadly, as it lagged heavily (and often in important moments!). I'm wondering, could an itch upload maybe function better?
Great game! Was definitely fun to out-maneuver the cops on my skateboard. And dropping tactical donuts to laugh behind their backs.
I think the controls and reactivity could use some faster acceleration, although that would completely change the difficulty of the game.
This was a lot of fun! I enjoyed it as a sort of Pacman with the added risk/reward of being on the board or not linked to being chased or not. Well done!
Many times simple is good and so is here! THis could be expanded to even something bigger!
Sticky walls were ok but the walking felt like lag.
awesome entry, really cool to see a game made in pico-8,i couldnt with the restrictions, the art is good, i may have a bias on simple pixel art
Cute game. I really liked the graphics and throwing donuts to cops. The colliders were slightly sticky sometimes, but overall the movement felt good. Great job!
I love these Pico-8 games. :) Nice little game! Had a bit trouble with the cops where they ate the donuts and immediately rushed back towards me - had to be a bit more creative when getting away.
So far the most original and hilarious take on the theme! Great job!
Super fun controls, feels very punishing to NOT be on my skateboard!
well done for creating this game for the ludum dare, we can clearly see the work put in to achieve this result. I managed to collect enough dollars I'm saved, thanks to my precious skateboard.
Cool Submission. Riding skateboard quite satisfying. Had a nice time playing it!
Cute game! The controls felt very fluid. The only thing is that you sometimes get stuck at some corners, but it kinds of helps the gameplay because you really want to avoid walls
Cool entry with fun controls (though they need a little getting used to) ! It was a challenge to find a proper tactic to maneuver around the cops haha. Good job !
Liked the vibe! I feel like the skateboard could be faster! Also (like a dumb-dumb) I didn't know I had to press X again to have the skate so at first I just walked everywhere thinking I needed the money to buy the skate lol. Maybe that was just me tho!
Nice little game, I like the interpretation of the theme!
The hitbox for cops catching you could be just a bit smaller to make it feel more fair.
Sometimes the cops don't seem to register the donuts.
Think it would give the game a bit more depth if skating on grass was impossible or really slow or any other updates that gave the player more reason to use walking in some places.
I got stuck once between a tree and the firehydrant around the bottom-left corner of the map (after skating into them diagonally).
nice interpretation of the theme
Thank you for watching the stream and engaging with us. Enjoy the rest of the games and happy gaming!
Wow the game is not even 1 megabyte, and I'm discovering Pico-8, cool concept! Nice twist on the theme, the game itself is pretty fun and engaging thanks to the cops that force to be on the lookout. It's impressive that you managed to make a full game with such a compact code, congrats!
Great take on the theme, and the artstyle has a lot of personality. Pretty challenging game, but doable. Distracting cops by donuts is a great idea and reminded me of a similar kind of distraction in Postal 2. Sometimes they didn't seem to register donuts, but it's understandable when you have to punish this kind of crime. And sometimes the game was jittering for me, but it always got back into proper state rather quickly. I would love to live on the streets where you can collect this much, that would make the life easier!
Interesting take on the theme, it took me a few tries but I barely made it with 2 seconds left and an extra $10! Just nitpicking but the camera doesn't seem to be centered and made it risky to move in the top/left direction. If you continue working on this it would also be great to have the camera look ahead when on the skateboard. The graphics are nice and work well with the low resolution, I also find it very cool that the whole source fits in an image!
Cool game, I liked it!
Really fun take of the theme, I had to read in the description that you can throw donuts though, played it again and won :) My only feedback is that the court was hard to find (maybe an arrow at the side of the screen to show you the way to go?), and the web build lagged when I was chased by the police!
Very cool, nicely done!
Impressive graphics, fun gameplay and a creative take on the theme. Unfortunately it is a little laggy.
Nice idea!
I think the issue which other players described as "laggy" is the pixel snapping. A camera that moves inside the pixelated game world doesn't look smooth.
Nice little game, the art looks great and really conveys the atmosphere of a city in the oldskool games. Like you said yourself, the collision detection is a bit janky at times, especially in tight spaces, but that's definitely not a gamebreaking bug. But it has a good loop, and makes you want to play again to try to get a higher score. Great job!
Oh my god I LOVE THIS! Such a hilarious and original take on the theme! I adoooore the gameboy graphics, they are truly cute. The only issue I have is that I got stuck behind buildings a few times, but I mean, it's still really impressive that a solo dev made this gem of a game in 72 hours. I am in awe of this. Well done!!
Amazing game! I really appreciated the sense of humor and how well it matched the theme given. My one comment is that sometimes it was difficult for me to tell where I could go because some walls seemed to be made out of the same texture as the roads. Really a minor thing in a game this fun. Nice work!
Really love the pixel art on this one, and amazing job getting this finished for your first solo LDjam! I didn't read the instructions close enough at first, so missed that I had to get to the court as well, it would've been nice to have an in game notification when I had enough money to now get to the court.
I did also find starting in debt a bit confusing, and that you can only pay the court once you get to 0 dollars, did you consider making it a number like "0/1300" instead of starting off with -1300 and trying to get to 0?
I uploaded my playthrough to YouTube! Hope it's useful for you!

You made a fine game! I loved the donut dropping mechanics but it was even more fun trying to just run away from the cops. Totally forgot to actually pay off my fine the first run, but I was stacked so I guess I had something going for me. Nice entry, good job!
I actually found this on pico-8 splore before I found it on the LD site. Super cute sprites, functional and complete game loop, and I had no problems with collision. Cute and fun, like pico carts should be. Well done.
Sometimes it seemed like the cops ignored my donuts but that didn't stop me from getting a win after one or two tries.
The game is well balanced. Great graphics and funny concept. The summon theme is a bit light. Won after 6 games.
Fun, nice graphics, it's nice to see a pico-8 title!
smooooth game. just wish there was some retro sound. for me it was silent.
Fun style. Like the art, the vibe would be great with some sound added.
Nice little game, the pico8 graphics give it a little Paperboy vibe. Like already reported, the collisions are a bit unforgiving, but you get used to it. Definitely easier with a gamepad than with the keyboard, at least for me. I would have preferred the money spread a bit less randomly, to help me devise optimal strategies. Extra humour points for the donut mechanics!
Fun game. Too bad you did not get time to make a soundtrack for it. Don't know if you're already aware, but there are a lot of creative commons/CC assets and music on sites like itch.io and OpenGameArt that you can use so long as you give proper credit. Of course, I know from experience picking the right track can take a lot of time too ;)
Nice little entry you did there, there were a few times (at least on my mobile device) it seem to hang while I was being chased leading to worries I would be caught but always worked itself out. Took me three attempts to finally got use to the controls and rules before I finally won with $10 and 30s to spare. I did find it was a little easy to drop all your donuts unless i could quickly press and release to O button but otherwise worked fine. Looking forward to seeing what you bring to your next jam.
Fun little game, well done!
