LD48 — Deeper and deeper

The Rim by jokerbomb 2021-04-30T22:31:15Z

Great to finally see a Game Maker entry! I absolutely loved the cutscenes, their artstyle and characters you got there. Those were amazing. Dialogs were awesome too and I like that you don't even need to wait for them to show up, you can just show them instantly by double pressing. That is a nice touch that is not always expected in games made in such short amount of time. While I loved the cutscenes and dialolgs, the gameplay itself seemed very simplistic and the artstyle there did not really match the one in the cutscenes, at least for me. But I assume this is because of the short amount of time available to make it. I think that with a little bit of extra work, you could have something really special there. :)

World Eater Jormungandr by Dilem 2021-04-26T09:15:10Z

Graphics are great. Love how this game looks!

Darkest Forest: The Legendary Tree Hunt by agrdev 2021-05-12T16:09:41Z

Very cool entry - the art style was simple, but coherent and everything fit together really well. I loved the game getting darker when I was getting closer to the goal, it let me know that I am progressing correctly. AND enhanced the atmosphere. The atmosphere and experience could be enhanced by some simple creepy music, but it’s understandable that it does not have it with such limited amount of time. But the atmosphere was great even without it. I was still waiting for something to jump at me. I didn’t encounter any soft lock or any issues. :)

Stabalot by bw_devel 2021-04-26T09:50:56Z

Great submission! At first, I thought the spike was pretty slow, but after defeating few enemies, I took my words back very quickly. Graphics are on point, I love them! And very good choice of names. I have to take a look at pico-8, seems like an interesting engine!

Bun-ker Buster by Ziamor 2021-04-30T22:01:26Z

This is what I call the original story! I really liked the adorable artstyle and it fits the theme perfectly. The movements felt really good! I kinda struggled with intro, because it was not really obvious how to skip to the next slide. But I figured it out in the end. :)

Run Miner by henriquecanella 2021-04-30T21:24:48Z

This is a very polished entry for COMPO! This was fun and challenging to play and the movement felt very natural (apart from jumping). While the timer made this game pretty challenging after few rounds, it was fair.

It seems that all issues I had with this game were already mentioned here - gravity should have been slightly lower - jumps feel very short. And like others said as well, the music becomes boring very quickly.

Deep Fucking Value by 420blazeit 2021-04-29T10:33:45Z

This is a very well made and very original take on the topic. I loved graphics, sounds and the exact illustration of investing into crypto. Can confirm that this is exactly how it is.

Delevator by guladam 2021-04-30T22:17:21Z

This was very dark and I loved it! You really nailed all aspects - the graphics, gameplay, sounds, voice acting and the story as well. Switching between imaginary and real Bruce was amazing and incredibly well done! You are super talented and this was one of the best, if not the best entry I played so far! The only minor complain is the font - sometimes it is a little bit hard to read. Otherwise, this is really amazing entry and I hope I will see more games from you, perhaps even on Steam or something, you definitely have that in you!

Depper and Depper by gerudoking 2021-04-26T17:56:25Z

This is a very original take on the theme, I love it! Very creative! The whole game is incredibly polished for such a small amount of time that was available to make it. This is definitely my favorite so far. :) The only thing that kinda bothered me is that the scroll bar stays on the same position when you switch between news on WOKE News. It would be better if it always scrolled to top.

Deep Fried Pancake! by Inka McAtee 2021-04-26T09:30:39Z

Great submittion! Straightforward, fun, easy to learn, looks great and very original take on this theme. Even leaderboards are included. Brilliant!

Deeper by EOShadows 2021-05-02T08:28:26Z

Played through the all levels. Very nice and cute game with adorable ending. Animations really helped to make the whole game feel fluid and were nicely done. However, I think the animation was sometimes slowing me down when making more quick movements.

Past the Final Frontier by towergame 2021-04-30T21:49:27Z

First of all, I can't tell you how glad I am for the fact that the game remembers my progress! I went back to it several times already. I love the aesthetics, how well it actually fits together and I simply enjoy playing it. The whole game is very well executed for such a small amount of time. However:

* It seems that when I am building a rocket, the Cockpit Tier I is giving me the best results every single time. It often changes my readiness from "bad"/Adequate to Excellent. Is this intentional? * CRT effect is awesome, but it sometimes makes it hard to read the text on the sides. * It took me three tries to figure out that those "<-----" "----->" arrows are for switching the objectives. I just assumed they were for switching planets, so I never used them. And I wondered why am I not progressing. But maybe I am not the sharpest tool in the shed. :)

Over all, I really love what you have here and I definitely see myself playing it few times again!

A Taste of the Past by Emily Pitcher 2021-04-30T20:39:09Z

This is an absolutely gem of a game. One of my favorite entries. The artstyle is top-notch, very touching music and the story is amazing as well. Really great usage of the theme! Although the whole game was incredibly polished for such a small amount of time, I found few issues or things I think could be improved:

1. Walking animation and walking speed of Mei seem slightly off, she should walk slightly faster for it to feel in sync. 2. When you walk to the end of stage and keep walking, you can see Mei standing in one place, but still playing a walking animation. She should go off the screen completely. 3. The last minigame with the big bowl has very small hitboxes; it takes several tries to get the position right. 4. One of Mei’s legs is glitched out in the scene where she's out of the train.

All in all, this is an absolutely phenomenal entry and I wish you good luck on Steam!

The Tourist by Frostfall 2021-04-30T21:14:33Z

Just finished playing this game. I always wanted bamboo when I was younger! I really liked the artstyle - it's simply lovely. And I loved how this game gradually turned darker and darker, I barely even noticed that everything got dark and spooky. The ending caught me off guard. Two issues though:

* The performance was often pretty bad, but that was mentioned several times. * I did the same as @strangeryann, lmao. I read the last sign and ran away in the expectation of something jumping at me. When nothing happened, I went back, clicked on it and then I was finally spooked. Should be made more obvious to click on it.

But those are very minor complaints. Very good entry, loved it!

Project Achelois by DzejPi 2021-04-26T08:54:31Z

Hey @douwe-ravers! Creatures are deeper, around 12th dialog when SAM confirms the life. But I could have definitely made it more lively. :) When it comes to the objective - there should be some crevice that should let you go deeper, even though I should have made the caves less restrictive and give more points of access.

Project Achelois by DzejPi 2021-04-26T09:20:00Z

Thank you for an awesome feedback @bw-devel! I will keep it in mind for the next game/LD. And I can’t believe I forgot to add the collision of projectiles with the wall, such an obvious thing and would be just one line of code or something. No caffeinated vodka next LD. :)

Mira's Therapy by ljh572 2021-04-29T10:22:11Z

Amazing game and great execution. Uncovering Mira’s story step by step was really beautiful. I never liked typing games much, but I think I would enjoy them if they were done like this one - with prompts. They made it feel really natural and smooth. One of my favorite entries, well done!

LD49 — Unstable

Breakaway by Mark Smith 2021-10-04T11:56:52Z

Nice fluid controls. I really loved how the game looks. It is using a very simplistic graphics, but every pixel counts and it feels very fluid! The game itself is pretty fun as well. However, I think that controls could be a little bit faster, but that’s really nitpicking.

RIFT by Pavocado 2021-10-14T12:27:38Z

One of the best entries for me. It is incredible how well polished this game is. The game mechanics are awesome and super fun. Levels are challenging just right. Great explanation of how to play this game. And it is very fair thanks to checkpoints. It looks amazing and feels satisfying to play! This is super well made and I think you should make a full game out of this after LD rating ends!

Factowery by demogorgon 2021-10-14T12:14:33Z

Very interesting concept and very impressive what you were able to put together in just 12 hours! I wonder how the game would look if you had more time. It took me a while to figure out though, some tutorials would definitely be appreciated as it is quite hard to understand how to play. Either way, very interesting entry and I think it would be awesome if you finished it after Ludum Dare. :)

SEXY BOOBY 95 by silkworm_sweatshop 2021-10-10T22:07:56Z

Saw the booby! Very well made entry with great humor. Not overly complicated, so I finished it fairly quickly. It definitely brought back some memories. Which I cannot talk about here, I am afraid. Oh and I loved the sounds. Really well made entry, no wonder you got so many ratings, you definitely deserve them!

CryptoCoaster by the.jahn 2021-10-05T06:39:05Z

Yeah, this is exactly how trading crypto feels like. Very realistic. Joking asides - great job, very responsive controls and fun to play!

Ornztarbil by magnusfurcifer 2021-10-11T06:40:15Z

That was very fun! I am impressed by the amount of levels and their variety. I also found them reasonably challenging and I liked how you introduced new elements gradually. I would personally add jumping. Also, jumping on the jumping pads felt a little inconsistent - especially if you jumped through it and fell back on it - it should shoot you right back. But that’s really a small detail. :)

Keptin, de core is unstable! by Shigor 2021-10-05T06:35:26Z

Excellent work! This was a lot of fun to play and I won on the first try. Great humor and love the fact that everything is voiced by you, you don’t see many games with voice acting in Compo!

Frail Ascent by ql28 2021-10-10T11:58:24Z

Absolutely impressive what you were able to accomplish in such a short amount of time! Beautiful music and art. Pretty fun gameplay as well. Beautiful little details like the hand in the water that "holds" the whole structure. Very solid entry that should have more ratings than it does have now. You should make it into a full game after LD!

Apocalypse horse by p-r 2021-10-05T07:03:34Z

I really loved this one. It reminded me of NetLogo simulations we did in University. I loved seeing the chaos unfold. Very amusing. And I won on the first try, sweet!

Monday by gimbalock 2021-10-11T21:28:20Z

This was beautifully stressful! I had a lot of fun with this one. Very well made and new things to click are creeping up on you so slowly, you forget to realise that you cannot possibly deal with them all, but you just keep clicking. Very original and amusing!

StarBase Balance by dimesto52 2021-10-04T09:27:56Z

Interesting take on the theme. It took me several tries to figure out the game, but once I did, I was able to keep going for a while. As mentioned above, if you stay with single rocket, you can go for a long time (maybe even indefinitely); maybe if there is only one left, it should be destroyed as well. What kinda bothered me was the scrolling when you are interacting with something - especially scrolling when you’re switching between the rocket fires. Otherwise very solid entry and if you polish this, I think you would have something really cool!

Nucleon Soup by Schuster 2021-10-06T13:37:10Z

Yay, I won! Few weeks ago, I found my old chemistry book from the secondary school and was surprised how many things I forgot since then. What I liked was that your game was easy to understand even for people like me who don’t remember almost anything from chemistry. When it comes to the things I would improve, then maybe make your hitbox a little bit higher. Was pretty easy to miss protons/neurons flying at you. Otherwise really nice and clever game!

Cold Eyes by DraperDanMan 2021-10-10T09:16:39Z

Pretty cool and fun to play entry! However, some extra variety of enemies or some upgrades would be cool. I would also welcome a higher FOV (or FOV slider), because it felt a little bit narrow.

THE COVID RACE by Aarre Entertainment 2021-10-18T21:12:13Z

I had an incredible amount of fun with this one, I had to play it for like two or three hours. I always loved these kinds of games. Controls are really tight and smooth. I also really love the visual presentation - CRT effect looks great and the whole presentation fits this darker theme really well. Very smart idea and I love the fact that the game will eventually stop working. Really good stuff, love it!

Unstable Matter by thesedatedprince 2021-10-05T07:27:33Z

Liquid would indeed be a hard work. :) Very challenging and frantic game. But at the same time, fair - I felt that hitboxes were fairly forgiving, which is important for this type of game. Nice job!

Mint by Préda 2021-10-11T21:46:01Z

Played till the end! This is an awesome entry - great graphics, music and amazing, fluid controls and camera. It took me a while to figure out how to move properly when zero gravity is present, but I figured it out eventually. I like how you tell the story - the player cannot get lost and progresses naturally and there is no way how to get lost. Humor is used just right - not too much of it, not too little. I loved the ending!

I found one place where the player can walk through the walls into the space, but no biggie - you can go back. :)

Screen Recording 2021-10-11 at 23.35.24.gif

Celestial Heights by shp 2021-10-05T06:48:51Z

Took me a little bit to adjust to the mechanics, but once I did, I had a lot of fun. Great and polished entry!

Plains In The Sky by TevasLiutauras 2021-10-05T07:10:18Z

One of my favorite entries. The graphics look fantastic - I really love this type of art style! The level design was very smart and thought-out. And this is very original take on the theme - haven’t seen this take yet. Amazing entry!

The Troubled Train by RosyMaple 2021-10-14T12:35:15Z

Yea, doesn’t work for me on MacOS Big Sur 11.6 (20G165). It shows "You do not have permission to open the application" even though they should be fine. Tried on two MacBooks. I will rate your game on weekend when I am back on Windows. :)

Unhitched Isles by MickM 2021-10-04T12:59:11Z

Definitely my favorite entry so far. Very fun, surprising amount of depth (a lot of settings and game modes) for such a small amount of time and great humor! This is one of the few balancing games that I actually enjoyed and definitely the most original one. Super impressive! The only think I would improve is the font - was kinda hard to read. But no biggie!

Polygonal Animal Stacking by Flying Dog Fish 2021-10-10T21:54:46Z

Great artstyle! I love hand drawn graphics like these. The game is pretty fun and I like the fact that you can knock other animals with the animal you are holding. Or intervene when some animal is sliding down. Only one complain - when you have too many animals, you hear the hit sounds all the time. Can be solved by playing only every [X]th sound. But that’s really nitpicking.

Core:Unstable by eyedromeda 2021-10-06T13:46:36Z

I absolutely loved the 2D/3D aesthetics. It looks great and you combined it amazingly! Controls were simple to understand and you really nailed the atmosphere down, especially when the lights go off and such. This game should have more ratings than it does. Great one!

Vomit Up the World by ItsHornUnicorn 2021-10-20T21:47:14Z

Very original take on the theme. I always love seeing 3D games! Visuals are simple, but fit well together perfectly and the controls are fun. I love how it is necessary to break the walls around you, which is a nice take on the theme as well. Although you should definitely play this when you are sober. I have three glasses of wine in me right now and the movement did not make my stomach very happy, but that’s on me! Overall this is a very nice entry and I think that this has enough potential to make it into a full game. :)

Pile Up Medieval by zimny11 2021-10-14T12:50:41Z

Such a good idea! I lost it when I spawned the water well, bucket went down much faster and it started bouncing all around. Very hilarious. Then I started building the city peacefully and I was surprised by the unexpected dragon attack, which wrecked me. Very well made, including graphics, music, mood and everything! However, I think the dragon is a little bit too challenging. I had the most success when I spawned buildings all over and as quickly as I could like a mad man. But perhaps that’s the point? :) Either way, great entry!

Alchimia by Derean 2021-10-04T11:44:44Z

Amazing interpretation of the theme! Very fun to play and those side effects were hilarious! Well executed and great looking game. What’s not to love? Great job!

Drifter by nyxkn 2021-10-20T15:46:00Z

Super polished and satisfying controls! At first, I thought the game was a little bit too slow, but I eventually found out that it’s actually perfectly balanced, including speed. The amosphere this game created is superb and it becomes quite tense when you’re out of fuel and trying to survive for a little longer. Great entry!

Drunken Master by Cedric86 2021-10-17T10:58:17Z

I haven't laughed this hard in ages. When my character vomited and fell into the puddle, I absolutely lost it. Fantastic sounds, gotta say, suspiciously close to the reality. Maybe you could add some random walking inputs to make it even harder to control. Great entry, the funniest one for me for sure!

Bob's Underworld by chesschaser 2021-10-05T06:56:27Z

Although the mechanics are pretty simple, it is a very fun game to play. However, the beginning can be a little bit unfair - sometimes the blocks spawn too high, but that’s no biggie. And I love how the game looks - it looks fantastic; especially the background!

Green Leaf and the Garbage Truck by Cookie_CHR 2021-10-14T12:19:41Z

Relaxing and fun to play. I was able to collect everything correctly on the second try! I sure hope the garbage trucks around me are not transporting nuclear waste. I loved the graphics - very nice seeing this artstyle after so many pixel-art and low-poly games. I think that you could make the game more challenging - it felt pretty easy. Nonethless, very nice entry!

Toilet paper ! by Slavi 2021-10-13T17:42:43Z

Very amusing and strange. I love it! I always like to see videogames with actual video. Too bad you didn’t have more time for more "rooms" or something. Either way, very nice entry, especially considering the fact that you made it in 3 hours!

Witch Reactor by alpacalypse 2021-10-06T13:32:08Z

Super original take on the theme! Great mood, audio and atmosphere. But I am afraid I am a little bit too smooth brained to understand it fully and be sure I am playing properly. I would suggest adding some sort of tutorial which takes player by hand, would improve the accessibility of the game. But great entry nonethless!

Better Tomorrows by DzejPi 2021-10-04T11:39:56Z

Thank you all for your feedback!

@guessimluna you are definitely right. I think the issue is with multiple rockets hitting almost at the same time. Should have kept them more apart.

@ludokultur @syg thank you very much for your kind feedback! I am super glad you liked the game!

@draperdanman you’re correct. I originally thought the map would be more interactive, but I eventually found out that I would not have enough time. Then I figured out that I could at least use it like this for the ending.

@fabernull you can’t imagine how happy it made me to hear that you found the game balanced. I spent several hours trying to balance all elements together, so I am glad to hear that it was worth it!

@debone Oh yeah, it was not intended at first. But I assumed most of the players wouldn’t bother picking stuff up too much, because once you buy two or three upgrades, money is flying at the pace when picking stuff up did not seem worth it. Let’s pretend it was intended as an environmental message. :)

I rated all of your HTML5 games back, because I am stuck on Mac until the Friday. I will rate Windows-only games over the weekend. I won’t forget about you, I promise. :)

Better Tomorrows by DzejPi 2021-10-05T07:13:16Z

@elastic glad you liked the dialog! It is always my favorite part!

@shp don’t we all?

@dekajoo just 20 $ short of freedom! Life is not fair!

Thank you all for the feedback! I rated all your games back. :)

Better Tomorrows by DzejPi 2021-10-06T15:09:03Z

Thank you all very much for your feedback!

@pandore glad you were able to collect 100 $. Now let’s see where the destiny takes you!

@alareo we can surely pretend it was!

@ruruie glad you liked the aesthetics! I wanted to go for different kind than I usually go, glad you lked it! And I figured out that most of the player wouldn’t bother picking them. I bet it paid off (literally :) ) in the end.

@eyedromeda thank you very much for such a detailed feedback! I can see parallels with Papers, Please - it is about a similar settings, but I wondered how would it feel if the player was kinda helpless. Super glad you enjoyed it!

@thesedatedprince glad you liked the artstyle and sounds! Like I said, I tried a new artstyle instead of the pixel one I usually pick, so I am happy for these sorts of responses. :)

@schuster what a coincidence, I played your game all the way through as well! Glad you enjoyed mine!

Rated all of your games btw! Except for the Windows-only ones, because I am stuck on Mac until Friday. I will rate Windows-only games on weekend, I will not forget. :)

Better Tomorrows by DzejPi 2021-10-08T17:22:56Z

@hotaloca thank you for your super kind words! I am glad you had such a great experience! I will rate your game tomorrow when I am back on Windows. :)

Better Tomorrows by DzejPi 2021-10-11T22:08:34Z

@leokrechmer thank you very much for your rating and your playthrough! And I am sorry for leaving your stream so abruptly — real life got me at the worst time and I was already running late. But I couldn’t skip watching you play! I will definitely add more gameplay next time. I planned much more (this is why the map is bigger), but I was unfortunately out of time. Thank you very much for checking it out on your stream!

@flying-dog-fish thank you for your comment! You’re definitely right about the fullscreen. Game Maker is acting kinda weirdly to me when it comes to HTML5 and scaling. I have some HTML5 issues on itch.io almost every single time. My "favorite" memory was with different game (Solitary Accompanied) that I tried in HTML5 only few hours before the GMTK Game Jam end and found out that the GUI was rendering at like eighth of the screen and I was able to fix it unpleasantly close to the deadline. I will take a look at it when the Compo voting ends. These issues should hopefully be resolved next time, since I am learning Godot and planning to switch to it completely - it seems that HTML5 there is significantly better and I don’t have to implement some workaround every time.

@molpe you can’t even imagine how excited and happy it makes me to see someone actually playing my game on the video! I almost died laughing at the UFO part, sorry for scaring you this much! :D I appreciate you finishing the game twice just to see different endings, I was indeed evil by not giving players any way how to finish if they pick everything. Thank you very much for playing!

Better Tomorrows by DzejPi 2021-10-14T12:54:55Z

@demogorgon & @zimny11 thank you for your feedback and for playing!

@cookie-chr - I appreciate you playing the game twice just to see a different ending. Forest definitely appreciates you more now. :)

@pavocado I feel a little bit bad when I hear stories like that, haha! Getting one million confiscated... ouch! And no way how to leave the country after that, double ouch! I will try to be kinder in my next game. :)

@nyxkn thank you very much for playing and for your feedback! Super sorry to hear that you were arrested; hope they are not too hard on you in prison! You are definitely right with the fact that the gameplay could be more engaging - I was planning much more, but I unfortunately ran out of time. And you’re definitely right with buying upgrades and just watching the money go. I assumed most of the people would do it, so I am surprised how many players decided to pick everything off the forest. Too bad I didn’t give it some meaning, at least (except for the ending). Thank you very much, rated your game back, yours was definitely more engaging. :)

Better Tomorrows by DzejPi 2021-10-20T21:48:37Z

@coolestdoggie thank you for playing and for your review! I am glad you liked the art style. Inkscape was my friend, even though I have a love-hate relationship with it. Rated your game back as well. :)

Better Tomorrows by DzejPi 2021-10-21T22:15:16Z

@evangreenwood thank you very much for your feedback! Unfortunately, the weather baloon crashed too far away, so don’t feel bad for not being to find it. You’re definitely right about more actions, maybe I will continue with this game after LD, we shall see. And I hope you’re safe despite your IRL government, that is the most important part! Sorry for not being able to rate your game back - ratings are already closed and I got here just now. :(

~☆~ Nekolibrium ~☆~ by Chris Dirkis 2021-10-04T06:59:00Z

This is a very original take on the theme. It reminded me of NetLogo simulations we did in University. I loved how the graphs rendered - very satisfying! And absolutely excellent choice of colors and sprites - it looks great! Great entry!

F@!# My Ship Up by syg 2021-10-10T11:51:57Z

You don't see many custom 3D engines used here, so big props for that! Too bad there wasn't enough time to implement menu or restart buttons and you have to turn the game again every time you hit the asteroid. But no biggie, still very impressive to put this together in such a short amount of time!

Unstable Genius by Doc Kaos 2021-10-04T13:47:15Z

I have nothing but praise for this. Very clever and original idea. This is the reason why I love Ludum Dare. Very funny, quirky and yet reasonably challenging. The intro had me in stitches. You are very talented! Absolutely phenomenal entry. I would expect this game winning the whole Compo!

Going Home by lb01 2021-10-04T13:35:49Z

I made it home and loved every second of it. I love the clever way of using player and enemy assets. I am really into these sort of things. The game looks fantastic and like someone above mentioned, slightly reminded me of Journey. The camera was great as well. Lock-on on the enemies was clever, worked well and when there were no enemies around, it naturally led me to the right direction. What a beautiful and well made entry. I am impressed!

Unstable Einstein by the neon shark 2021-10-04T13:05:08Z

Very smooth and polished for only 4 hours! It looks really good and it is fun to play, although pretty difficult. I think it would make sense to have some dedicated keyboard buttons for the blocks. Like left-up-right or something. When on bigger screen, it takes some time to move mouse and click on them and this would make it much easier to control. Besides that, great entry, love it!

Crash by Recessive 2021-10-04T14:22:06Z

Love the humor! My favorite upgrade is volatile stocks. That’s the stuff we love the most, isn’t it? Joking asides - this was very fun to play and must-play for everyone who at least knows a little bit about r/WSB.

Unstable Space by FaberNull 2021-10-04T11:11:59Z

That’s a beautiful artstyle you got there. I absolutely love it! The beginning reminded me of Celestia (astronomy software) which I used to browse space in high school. When it comes to the game itself, I definitely did not expect RTS in Combo. Very impressive work for 48 hours!

Connection Unstable by hotaloca 2021-10-10T08:39:25Z

Wow, that was heavier than I expected! Great job with sounds and mood. Especially sounds made this very vivid experience. Very original idea which remindeed me of Master Reboot a little bit. Interesting take on the theme. The only thing I would improve is scrolling, but that was already mentioned couple of times. Nice one!

Hello Darkness. My old Friend. by Aquachain 2021-10-06T13:19:44Z

Love the hand-drawn style! It looks lovely. I unfortunately got stuck on the level with a lot of platforms where you have to wait for them to break. Darkness always got me. Great first entry! Controls could use a little polishing - sometimes it felt like if character double jumped and sometimes I fell out of the moving platform instead of jump which didn’t feel fair, but over all, this is a very solid entry, love it! And small touches like googly eye. Great job!

Luna's Painful Pastel Promenade by GuessImLuna 2021-10-10T09:10:14Z

That was very fun to play! The art style was simple, but effective and I am a huge fan of these types of animations which make the game feel more alive. I would add some "tutorial" text at the beginning of the game though, I did not know what to do immediately (but figured it out pretty quickly).

Bear Ferry Simulator by guntrip 2021-10-04T06:48:53Z

Pretty fun little game! Took me a little while to understand that I cannot put bears into the boat unless it is all the way into the right - it could be more forgiving. And took me a while to understand that I cannot just put all bears into it.

I loved bear faces - I felt a little bad when one of them drowned. However, I was not able to sink the boat. It always stayed on the water-level even when I kept it there for a long time. What do you have to do to do that?

I found one gamebreaking bug though - if you close the game on Itch.io and then open it again, it will render like this. But don’t feel bad about that, I work as QA and it is my job to find out how to break everything I look at. :)

Bear Ferry Simulator by guntrip 2021-10-04T07:14:42Z

@guntrip thank you for the reply! I will try that. And I definitely understand running out of time; I think we all do. :)

Unstable Dimension by Katanoueki 2021-10-17T10:46:38Z

Extremely impressive visuals. I love it! Mechanics are really polished and I had a lot of fun playing this. I haven't seen many games with occult symbols this LD. Well done!

It is rainy by DeltaMain 2021-10-10T12:51:03Z

Wow, this must be the winner of Mood for me. The pixel art is stunningly beautiful and so well put together. I really, really love how this game looks and its overall mood. The environment feels very responsive and this is an amazing idea over all. Super well made! When it comes to the ideas for improvement - I would welcome some random events happening to make the game even more interesting. And it would be cool to be able to switch between more input fields with Tab. But that's really nitpicking.

Where's My Tripod? by Pixelydian 2021-10-10T21:42:10Z

Amazing entry! Absolutely beautiful, stunning pixel art. It looks gorgeous! Animations are well made and very realistic, actually. Very original take on the theme! Smooth (haha) camera with well made events like coughing, hiccups or sneezing. Even though the camera movement is unstable, it feels super smooth and satisfying. And I love that the sneezing scares the animals — I almost died laughing!

Alien Disco by Ludokultur 2021-10-04T10:58:42Z

Great take on a theme. And I guess aliens and me have more in common than I originally thought. Great controls, the game looks beautiful and the music sounds great, considering Pico-8 limitations!

Kattonauten by Elastic 2021-10-05T06:43:53Z

Tough as nails, but very fun to play! I really love how polished this game is and feels. Controls are great and "jumping" is very fluid and satisfying. Great job!

The Worm by Debone 2021-10-04T11:20:48Z

Controlling Shai-Hulud is indeed a hard task! It took me a while to at least somehow figure it out. I think the invader could be a little bigger. Nice take on the theme - very original! The game feels very fluid and is satisfying to play once you get used to it!

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Escape The Unstoppable Gooey Blob by OddballDave 2022-04-04T18:53:28Z

Lasted 2:21! Great amount of guns and the action towards the end, but what I liked the most was the announcer announcing the picked guns, that was hilarious!

Dog Days of Summer by incobalt 2022-04-05T20:08:59Z

Very original concept and idea. From screenshots, I thought that this would be some sort of card game, which I am not a big fan, but I was surprised it was nothing but! The interface felt a little bit busy, but otherwise this was a very interesting, bittersweet game. I think this would be a great game if you continued with it after Ludum Dare, definitely a lot of potential. :)

Dont Wake Up! by Bloham 2022-04-06T21:20:44Z

This was awesome! I am a huge fan of the dream worlds like these. Very well made game for such a small amount of time! Textures look awesome, effects as well and the music is the cherry on top. I think this has some serious potential and I would definitely continue on it after LD ends. Some optimisation would be great, it was pretty choppy for me. :)

The Waiting Game by AlexHoratio 2022-04-06T19:20:20Z

Would love to play it, but the Mac build is damaged for some reason. :(

Screenshot 2022-04-06 at 21.17.33.png

And I can’t find the source code on the itch.io, figured that I would compile it myself instead. Can we get in touch somehow? Eventually, I will be on Windows on weekend, so I can rate it by then. :)

The Waiting Game by AlexHoratio 2022-04-07T07:42:12Z

Got the project and was able to build it myself, thank you very much! As mentioned above - wonderfully bizzare. I absolutely loved the music - it was excellent! And it worked great with the awesome graphics and text effects. Great job, love these sorts of games!

Guardian Angel by blockerz 2022-04-10T19:39:28Z

Very nice little game! Impressive amount of levels. For some reason, I missed the "Next Level" button the first time, but thankfully, I read the rest of the comments and found out that there was much more than the first one. :) I like that every level is telling some different story. Great job!

Grandma by smiley 2022-04-04T15:00:41Z

I absolutely loved this! This is an incredible amount of content to make in 48 hours, especially with three different songs, stuff like wind and using checkpoints everywher. You are super talented! I love Ableton - great choice of DAW. I will definitely use it the next time as well. I am trying to force myself to like FL Studio enough, but I just can’t; its workflow is so incredibly awkward compared to Ableton. Graphics are absolutely amazing and coherent, the camera is fluid, love the light effects and the parallax effect, puzzles are well designed and the little story is heartwarming. When it comes to controls, then using `j` for dash felt slightly awkward; I would prefer double space, ie press space to jump and when in air, press space again to dash, but that could be my personal preference and it’s nitpicking anyway. Excellent job, you should be proud!

Protect the Candle by rex64 2022-04-04T15:05:08Z

Great mood and the choice of the graphics style. Like OadT mentioned above, it took me a little while to get used to controls, but once you do, they are not an issue. Pretty unforgiving though, the could have few extra "lives." :)

Will There Bee Another? by Gabriel Dias Oliveira de Almeida 2022-04-06T20:52:40Z

Awesome art style! Some sound would definitely make the whole experience better. Check out BFXR - it can generate some basic sounds for you! Other than that, I think this is very nice entry and interesting interpretation of the theme, very original!

Walk of life by ThePhennix 2022-04-10T11:06:54Z

Very funny game! Quite a lot of content for such a small amount of time! Apart from the issues which are already mentioned above, I would certainly welcome the possibility of just restarting the minigame which I just failed instead of having to play all of them from the beginning over and over again. Apart from that, very good entry. If you spend some time polishing it after Ludum Dare, you would certainly end up with something special. :) Also, noticed that if you let the timer on the death screen run out, everything just disappears and you have no way out :)

Tax Haven by Weirdybeardyman 2022-04-07T14:57:39Z

I’ve seen quite a few tax interpretation of the theme, but this was the most fun to play and the original idea. Love the cynicism of using the burnt fuel as tax deductible... and I can imagine it IRL. :) Controls were smooth and throwing felt very satisfying. Great artstyle and colors as well!

Doomsday Cult by ConradoClark 2022-04-07T15:17:51Z

Absolutely amazing art style! I am blown away by how well this game looks with only few colors! I figured out how to clap immediately, but it took me a while to figure out how to draw and it feels super unforgiving still, but maybe I’m just a casual. :) Otherwise this is an amazing entry, loved it!

The Saddest Day by zerocomms 2022-04-04T18:46:46Z

Took me a little while to understand that I am not supposed to pop the balloon right away. :) Don’t have much to add to the feedback apart from everything that was said above, but I have to tell you that the sad emoji explosion at the end is brilliant, never fails to make me laugh!

Quota Qrunch by macs 2022-04-06T20:21:51Z

Now that’s a social commentary I love. Huge amount of content for such a short time. And the warehouse boss looked exactly like I would imagine. One of my favorite entries this jam for sure :)

Papper by GeneralSturgeon 2022-04-10T09:32:32Z

Awesome game. Very relaxing - I love the choice of the colors and the music is excellent. I maxxed all upgrades and got to 73 m. Very fun! The only thing that felt slightly off was the launch at the beginning, as simba mentioned above. Otherwise, this is an awesome game and one of my favorite games this LD for sure. :)

Stay Positive by Nick Barrash 2022-04-06T20:41:02Z

Great jam game. Straight to the point, simple controls and fun to play. Took me few seconds to understand how the ball reacts to my mouse, but got into it pretty quickly. Great entry!

5 More Minutes by Sam Horner 2022-04-04T01:00:18Z

First game I played this Ludum Dare and I have to say that this is a great and hilarious interpretation of the theme. Very tense and stressful, just like every morning. The score on the left is not aligned properly for me, but that’s no biggie. Great entry, love it!

From Beyond The Stars by 0X_VOID_X0 2022-04-04T21:48:40Z

That was actually very fun and engaging! I knew this was Godot just from the flip button alone. :) Nice to see fellow Godot user! Great idea, I flipped the screen several times! Very good sound design as well!

Jacob Cassidy in: Case Crimson Midnight by parkuhrmd 2022-04-05T19:49:47Z

This almost feels like a full feature game. Impressive amount of content for the game made in 3 days! Awesome mood and the shooting felt really good. I see that stopping when shooting was mentioned enough times already, that was my main issue as well. Absolutely amazing graphics, gotta say! Great entry, loved it!

Hospital Dash by brads.space 2022-04-05T19:59:26Z

Really love the graphics style you went for! I would be a bad ambulance driver. :) It was very fun and felt very frantic. My only issue was the camera, because it almost made me nauseous. Otherwise great entry, especially for Compo!

Keep It Warm by Fifut 2022-04-06T20:36:05Z

Got to 199. Very nice first entry. Great look and controls! I think that using some Atari/Commodore kind of font would make it look even better. :)

Meteodate by DzejPi 2022-04-04T15:08:04Z

@grrr-alena glad you liked the game! I wanted to rate yours, but seems that you haven’t submitted any. I will be looking forward to rate your future game in the next Ludum Dare. :)

@rex64 thank you for playing! That’s pretty impressive though, I usually go to like 45 or so. :) Rated your game as well!

@smiley oh no! After 34 hours of working, I was simply copying the markdown text from my previous entry and forgot to remove the wooden log mention. It’s from the other game, don’t look for wooden logs in space. Sorry about that! :D Great suggestion with keyboard controls, thank you for that. And for playing! Rated your game as well!

@frogman I wanted to fix the dialog going over game over screen, but I was out of time. They barely affect the meteor speed, but they do. But can’t stop the inevitable. :) I will rate your game once I am on Windows, I am stuck on Mac now. Or if you manage to make Mac/HTML5 build, do let me know!

Meteodate by DzejPi 2022-04-05T19:52:52Z

@payaosito thank you for playing! And I see that this bug is a blessing in disguise. :)

@moonblast glad you liked the game! I will rate yours on weekend, I am not on Windows now and don’t have any Windows machine handy, sorry for that. But I will keep it in mind. :)

@tosmaster glad you liked the dialog! At least that one year of work as a 2nd line IT support was good for something. :) Rated your game back, absolutely amazing one!

Meteodate by DzejPi 2022-04-06T19:21:06Z

@alexhoratio super glad to hear that you liked the game this much! Unfortunately, cannot play yours - the Mac build is damaged for some reason. But I will be on Windows on weekend, so I will rate it then. :)

Meteodate by DzejPi 2022-04-06T21:23:23Z

@mopifish @lvl99chicken thank you for playing! You’re both totally right about the pace, I will keep it in mind for the next game. :)

Meteodate by DzejPi 2022-04-07T15:18:56Z

@a-chill-lemur I agree, and someone surely didn’t receive the mail that was sent in advance.

@weirdybeardyman you’re definitely right about the feedback. Will keep in mind for the next time. :) And I definitely love it, much better than Game Maker and quicker than Unity. I am surprised by how many Godot games I see this year, I was used to seeing Unity all day back in previous LDs. :)

@conradoclark so sorry for that! I need to proofread better next time!

@aka-black-dog thank you for the comment. I will play your game on the weekend, because I am stuck on Mac now and I will be able to get on Windows by then.

@adobobo definitely bug, but it’s a blessing in disguise, because it means you don’t need to play it again. :) And yeah, aliens should think about the mental well being of their workers! This cannot be sustainable!

Meteodate by DzejPi 2022-04-10T09:33:35Z

@generalsturgeon thank you for playing! I am actually reading it right now. Shame on me for not reading it sooner, because it's awesome. :)

Meteodate by DzejPi 2022-04-10T19:40:49Z

@blockerz thank you for a great feedback! Yea, I made the music control button, but I was out of time to make the music, hopefully I will make some next time! And understandable that you had a trouble following the dialog, I unfortunately had no time to fix that either. Rated your game back. :)

Meteodate by DzejPi 2022-04-11T21:18:13Z

@reminus glad you liked the dialogue! Loved your game. :)

Meteodate by DzejPi 2022-04-12T18:36:37Z

@oddballdave oh yeah, that’s the inevitable part. :) Thank you for playing!

Meteodate by DzejPi 2022-04-21T16:13:46Z

Hey @nonnen thank you for the comment! Unfortunately, I cannot rate your game back, as it’s Windows only and I do not have the access to Windows now :(

Deadline Lab by Moonblast 2022-04-08T23:39:30Z

I'm on Windows now, so I can finally rate this! I was able to pick the gameplay up right away, so great job with that, it usually takes me a while to understand what's going on. I loved the creative use the emojis, that's a very original idea! Great music and the gameplay flow. Great humor - some events were truly hilarious! When it comes to the issues, then I noticed that the text in some descriptions is overflowing the boundaries. Like here, for example:

2022-04-09_01-38-48.png

But that's an insignificant issue. Otherwise, this is an awesome entry, loved it!

I Would Like to Thank the Academy by sprunth 2022-04-05T23:37:02Z

Interesting idea. My favorite line was: "I wasn't happy with my job, because I was a kid?" Indeed. :)

CliffCart by Payaosito 2022-04-04T17:01:11Z

I remember seeing the progress of this game when checking the Ludum Dare feed. I have to say, this is a great first time entry. Becomes stressful pretty quickly. I would personally prefer it if the cart was more on the left and you would be able to see holes in the tracks sooner. It felt that somtimes I didn’t have enough time to react, but maybe it’s just me being a casual. :) Nice entry, great job!

Can't Tax Me by SasquatchBStudios 2022-04-06T21:01:35Z

That’s a lot of content for such a small amount of time. The controls in this game are probably the best I encountered in this jam. Feels super polished. Great job!

HungryBot by Aka Black Dog 2022-04-08T23:18:03Z

I'm on Windows now. :) Awesome and well fitting graphics with awesome effects! Controls felt smooth and great job with audio as well! It could be a little bit more challenging as the time goes. Also, mentioned few times already, but since this is Godot (I used it too!), HTML5 build should not be an issue. You can just export the project and upload it to Itch.io, and play it directly in the browser. That way, you will get more people to play it, because there is no extra hassle. Either way, great entry, loved it!

You will fall by adobobo 2022-04-07T15:07:07Z

Nice to see some 2.5D game! Well made and the flying through the narrow entries was quite tense! I actually liked the movement. The super quick slow-down did not feel natural, but it made it significantly easier to play the game and to adjust myself in the right position. Loved it! More checkpoints would be nice though!

Spiraland by A Chill Lemur 2022-04-07T14:52:34Z

Love the sound effects and the overall style! And nice to see some generated content. Too bad I couldn’t change the direction mid-air, I think that would make the controls feel nicer. But great entry nonetheless!

Life Finds a Way by Mopifish 2022-04-06T19:14:55Z

Very nice and refreshing to see a positive twist of this theme. I got the feeling that this jam is relatively darker one. :) Love the graphics; the artstyle is very cohesive artstyle and cute, and with a lot of personality. And love the speaking animation. Very adorable. One of my favorite entries this jam. :)

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Friendship Deathmatch by Patomkin 2022-10-15T09:00:24Z

Amazing graphics! Fighting was fun and engaging. Sounds were great too! I was wondering how many people were on your team and when I noticed that you did this alone, I was very impressed! Definitely one of my favorite entries this jam. However, sometimes it took me a while to notice which animal I am newly playing. Some better indicator would be great, but that's nitpicking. Amazing game!

Hamster Defense by commanderstitch 2022-10-09T12:50:07Z

Interesting graphics. And you don't see many Java games, so that was very nice to see! Otherwise yeah, as other said, gameplay was a little bit chaotic and I was not sure what I was doing, but that's part of the fun!

Chicken farm by Hadik 2022-10-05T17:43:52Z

I absolutely loved this! Made me really relaxed after a whole day. I really loved the graphics! They look gorgeously cute. And I love watching chicks going on with their day. And animations were amazing too! If I could improve this game, then I would make the coins collects themselves after some time once you reveal them. And I would add some "helper" which could be a cursor that flies on its own and clicks on eggs on its own, I think that would be cool! Would make the game slightly faster and would ease off clicking. Amazing entry anyway, really loved it!

Hiccups by cogcomp 2022-10-05T17:56:57Z

Very interesting take on the theme. Really makes you think how long 10 seconds can be. :) I really loved the sound effects; spitting flame sound combined with the cuteness of the dragon really made me laugh every time. When it comes to feedback, then the controls are a little bit floaty and it feels like getting hit just throws you off too much. Thankfully you included generous amount of lives. Anyway, great game, loved it!

Auto Parker by BathPirate 2022-10-20T20:12:55Z

This is a very high quality jam entry! Great graphics, good sounds and very fun gameplay. I like small details like steering wheel turning when you are setting it to the left or right. I would consider releasing this for mobile after jam, since this would be a very fun to play on it too!

Oxylunky by daandruff 2022-10-03T21:15:09Z

Absolutely amazing atmosphere! Seems that the main issues I would mention were already resolved in non-compo version. Hidden blocks could give player a little bit of a hint to make it kinda easier. Either way, great entry, loved it!

Game Name by Strega 2022-10-04T06:37:53Z

This must be one of the best games I’ve played this LD so far. Very engaging, beautiful graphics, which reminded me of old flash games and awesome meta. All minigames were awesome, and the sleeping one definitely describes the sleeping during LD very well, I felt that! I had only one tiny issue - game didn’t want to recognize `}` for some reason. Could be because I am on the Czech keyboard? But `{` worked fine. :) And one tiny idea for improvement - if you finish the section completely, the game could skip to the next one right away, but that’s really nitpicking.

Screenshot 2022-10-04 at 8.33.06.png

I think I did pretty well, scored #63!

Dimension Clicker by Dr_V 2022-10-04T19:57:20Z

Interesting take on the theme. I loved the smooth and elegant visuals! Could have some better tutorial for smooth brains, like me, but I figured it out eventually :)

Destroy Blocks by mdotedot 2022-10-03T21:40:28Z

Interesting take on tetris! Took my brain a little while to stop expecting the blocks to fall. I would add some score next time, so we can compare! Otherwise I think there is a nice potential in this. Maybe you could even make it more interesting by adding some random events into it. Anyway, nice entry!

Negative-G by EX3D0 2022-10-04T20:02:26Z

Really love the visuals here, especially scanline effect! I also really liked the good music, it was pleasure to listen to it! Movement was great too. The game could be a little bit longer tho, but this is Compo and the time is limited. Great entry!

Yellowbean Bog by Flightless 2022-10-15T09:06:09Z

Very original take on the theme! And very nice graphics! I thought that this was Unreal game at first. The music here was great as well and super fitting! I would personally make mushrooms grow again, even if it had to take few days, but I was able to get around this limitation in the end. Great game!

Security Failure by aplite 2022-10-09T13:01:39Z

Beautiful, smooth visuals and interesting idea for the game. This needs more ratings! Looking for clues was very fun and it got really tense quickly when I started running out of ideas.

If you fail, you get this error in the browser, but I assume you know about it, just letting you know. :)

Pulsar Cycle by Izzet 2022-10-15T09:32:07Z

Great idea for the story. I understood what to do right away, which means I finished the game very quickly. Perhaps you can work on this game afterwards and make something amazing out of it! I think the idea with pulsar is really great, so it would be a waste to not do anything with it! Also, greetings to fellow Czech. :)

Nova Pulse Bakery by WegPast 2022-10-05T06:54:04Z

Amazing graphics and very interesting idea. Would be nice to have some tutorial for smooth brains like me, took me a little while to learn how to play this. Anyway, great entry!

Anxiety by lesinvisible 2022-10-05T18:45:41Z

This absolutely blew me away! This must be one of my favorite games this LD. The art style is just out of this world, the writing is amazing and the atmosphere you created was unbelievable. The music was amazing too! The gameplay took me back into days where I used to play point and click adventures. This is really amazing amount of work you were able to pull off and you are extremely talented. Well done, I am impressed!

Marshmallow Bandit by Flamboozle 2022-10-03T21:55:59Z

This game needs more love! The art is absolutely fantastic, it’s very well looking game! You nailed the atmosphere, sounds and music very well as well and gameplay feels nice and smooth. Very impressive amount of work, loved it! And I don’t even usually like these kinds of games. Well done!

Lucky Lefty Lost In A Labyrinth by TheBookSnail 2022-10-04T19:51:24Z

Thank you for featuring me on your stream! This is a very interesting take on the theme and interesting mechanics. I don’t think I have seen these before, very clever! I think the artstyle could be a little bit clearer. Plus I would perhaps let the user think of the first move; and start counting down afterwards. I wanted to say that the movement could be more fluid, but you are snail after all. :) And I bet I know how the falling sound was made. :) Nice entry!

BackroomsBreak - Alpha version test v0.1 by Eugenik 2022-10-09T12:44:46Z

Really impressive what is possible to accomplish in Unreal in such short amount of time. Visuals were on point and endless maze was really like from some nightmare. Visuals were maybe a little bit too good - game was pretty choppy on my GTX 960, but it's pretty old now and I should definitely upgrade. :) Otherwise, very good sounds! Too bad you can't fight the monster. I mean, you have the hammer. Running out of willpower was kinda funny though, was a real "Guess I'll die now" moment. Either way, very good entry and I think you should continue working on it after the jam ends, I think you really have something great here!

Sailing through life by Chase of Bass 2022-10-06T20:50:07Z

This game really touched me especially after this horrible year. It was impressive how you were able to make an amazing atmosphere using very little. Excellent writing! It seems that you put something very personal into it. Music is beautiful and fitting too, even though it felt more optimistic than the overall theme. Anyway, really loved this! Easily one of my favorite entries I played this jam; you don’t see many games that would focus more on the storytelling, so I really enjoyed it. And I too hope we will all be together again, one day.

Got 1150. :)

Nice and coherent graphics style! Took me two tries to survive the night (I didn’t understand how salt worked at first), but I managed to. Some spooky music would make this even better. :)

Needy Pixel Kitties by Aaron Smith 2022-10-05T18:15:45Z

10/10 tutorial. Otherwise not sure if there is anything I can add beside what was already said. Start was a little bit slow, but at least it let me get used to seeing different faces and figuring out what do they need. But once it hit certain point, then it was really hectic, and fun. Great entry, amazing graphics and I bet you had a lot of fun developing this!

Paper Prison by Fifut 2022-10-03T06:55:23Z

Had no issues with Chrome on my side. Great take on the theme! Really loved the art style - it was so coherent and well drawn! I think this is the perfect example of jam game. It also reminded me of old flash game where you try to cheat on the test and try to avoid the teacher looking at you. Not sure if there is anything else I could add to the feedback - WASD support and hitboxes were already mentioned above. I have one tip - if you have some issues with jerky movement because of hitboxes, you can try using round ones, they usually make everything smoother. Otherwise, this is great entry! I wonder how Trouv accomplished score of 3, that’s really intense. :)

Bobo's Happiness Factory by DzejPi 2022-10-03T21:59:31Z

Thank you all for feedback!

@daandruff thank you for your feedback! Will try to make graphics and sounds more than OK next time! You have an interesting point with clicking input, will try to keep in mind for the next time. However, that would require to rework the game and make it slower, since I can imagine it would slow wrapping down. Thank you for your feedback again! Rated your game back!

@ty thank you for your comment! Ah, so I am not the only one who played on trackpad. :) Glad you liked the wrapping! And you’re right, it is kinda hectic; unlike your game, which is relaxing and I rated it back!

@gotanod thank your for your feedback! Not sure when Bobo decides to send your money, but I know when you are going to receive a rating from me — unfortunately on weekend, since I am on Mac now and won’t have access to Windows machine until weekend. Don’t worry, I won’t forget! :)

@mdotedot thank you for the feedback! Glad you like the mechanics; feel free to steal them. :) I wanted to make wrapping points "float around" to make it slightly more challenging, but I didn’t have time to implement it. Rated your game back!

@pixelydian thank you for your rating! This could totally work on phone, I will consider it after rating ends. Should be easy enough with Godot! Glad you liked the music; but your is infinitely better. :) I wasn’t super sure about it and I even considered setting it as off by default, haha. It was going back to roots moment for me, since I used Ableton again after like 7 years of not using it. I really tried to like FL Studio, but I can’t. Thank you again, rated your game back!

@flamboozle thank you for your feedback. It’s true that it’s not super challenging at the beginning, but I made sure it doesn’t stay that way forever. :) Rated your game back!

@fifut thank you for your comment! It gets repetitive, that’s for sure; would drive me crazy to do it for 8 hours. :) I already rated your game, it was an awesome one. Thank you again!

Bobo's Happiness Factory by DzejPi 2022-10-04T20:06:21Z

@elysiagriffin and thank you for playing it! Rated your game too and see you next LD!

@dr-v thank you for the comment! Rated your game back. :)

@ex3d0 thank you for your feedback! That indeed looks like a high score! Congratulations! Suprised you liked the music; I am not super happy with it, so I am glad someone actually thinks it’s alright. :D Not better than yours though! Rated your game back. :)

@eugenik & @ilari thank you for your comments! I will rate your games on weekend, since I am stuck on Mac now, but I should have access to Windows machine on the weekend. I will not forget, I promise. :)

Bobo's Happiness Factory by DzejPi 2022-10-05T17:57:59Z

@cogcomp glad you kept until the very end, Bobo appreciates hard workers! I will consider the touch screen support once the Compo rating period ends, thank you for this feedback! I rated your game back. :)

Bobo's Happiness Factory by DzejPi 2022-10-05T18:46:10Z

@lesinvisible thank you for your feedback! You’re totally right that it could be a little bit faster at the beginning. :) Rated your game back, it was awesome!

Bobo's Happiness Factory by DzejPi 2022-10-06T16:29:24Z

@cafebeef thank you for your feedback! Glad you liked the items falling off the conveyor belts. I was actually planning to implement some breaking mechanics which would make it look much better, but I didn’t have time for it. Rated your game back. :)

@projectcolorball thank you for your comment and for sharing your score! Rated your game back. :)

Bobo's Happiness Factory by DzejPi 2022-10-06T20:51:35Z

@chase-of-bass thank you for your comment! It really becomes a routine after a while, even though I always seem to be hitting wrong point once in a while. Glad you liked the dialogue! Rated your game back; it was amazing. :)

Bobo's Happiness Factory by DzejPi 2022-10-07T18:11:57Z

@jamdong15 thank you so much for your detailed feedback! Some kind of jumpscare would be definitely a great idea! That’s evil; I love it. You have a good point with dialog. Some better place would be better. Or leaving it off the game completely, I just can’t help myself. Rated your game back! :)

Bobo's Happiness Factory by DzejPi 2022-10-09T13:12:21Z

@shibaya thank you for your comment! Rated your game back!

@aplite thank you for your nice feedback! Glad you liked the tutorial, I was glad that the mechanics I wrote made it easy to time it well. And indeed, the rush after slowdown was the last rush to end them all. :) Rated your game back!

@commanderstitch thank you for your comment! That's a pretty good score! Rated your game back!

@cobrajs thank you for your feedback! You are bringing a very good point. I was mainly testing the gameplay on trackpad on my laptop and you're totally right that it's more challenging with mouse. Will keep in mind to playtest that in the future :) Rated your game back!

Bobo's Happiness Factory by DzejPi 2022-10-12T16:23:32Z

Thank you for your feedback, @patomkin! Glad you liked the wrapping mechanics, I didn’t go for clicking exactly because of this. I will rate your game back on the weekend; I am not on Windows machine now. :)

second interval by ty_ 2022-10-03T21:25:35Z

Really loved this one! Lovely graphics and the work with sounds! Finished it completely; it restored my peace and joy too. I didn’t understand the use of the theme until I read the description. Very clever!

A Quick Bunny Affair 🥕 by Vidu 2022-10-04T07:01:06Z

Adorable visuals, tight controls and great sounds/music! This is a beautiful and very polished game! As Senso mentioned above - I can imagine it being on the app store right away. Humor was great too - loved the bunnies with guns and katana in the end.

IMG_5206.jpg

I invited Andy to check it out as well, since he knows more about bunnies than me. He didn’t say much, but I just know that he wasn’t impressed by my performance.

Stoked by Alexzoin 2022-10-04T06:47:16Z

Beautiful, beautiful graphics! Found the gameplay very relaxing and meditative. Even help me with my headache! Didn’t notice the shop in the first gameplay (probably because the game on Itch.io is slightly bigger than my screen, haha). Thankfully, I read the description afterwards and checked it out again. Beautiful entry, definitely one of my favorite mood ones!

Last Defense by Pixelydian 2022-10-03T21:46:49Z

Super nice to see a Game Maker! What can I say - the graphics are great, music is absolutely amazing and the whole game is simply a joy to play. Really feels retro in a very nice way. Impressive amount of work for 48 hours. I would make landing a little bit more forgiving though. Anyway, I absolutely loved this and you are very talented!

Last Defense by Pixelydian 2022-10-04T17:10:36Z

@pixelydian we are very similar. I too usually got caught up in the art or story and then had no time for level design, haha! Took me a lot of jams to learn how to prioritise that. I would say that learning curve is actually not steep at all and I am super happy that I switched. Most of the stuff in Godot is self-explanatory and switching from Game Maker is super easy. I liked Game Maker, but I think that unless you want to release on consoles, Godot is better at just about everything, while being similarly easy to use.

I can recommend getting familiar with [this dictionary](https://github.com/coppolaemilio/gamemaker-godot-dictionary); it makes learning everything even easier. I decided to switch, because I wanted to go to 3D eventually, and Godot supports both 2D and 3D natively (reason why I didn’t go with Unity). Plus I disliked when YoYo Games decided to switch to the subscription model, I am not fan of those.

Since you use GML only, you should feel right at home with GDScript too, it’s similarly easy. :) The biggest difference that you will notice is how blazing fast Godot is compared to Game Maker, and how incredibly fast it compiles projects. GML always felt kinda sluggish. And HTML5 export works much better. There were always some quirks I hit on that front in GM and I always had to deal with some issues there, but I never had any issues with HTML5 export in Godot. Maybe I sound like a fanboy, but I really love it. :)

It's A Match! by cobrajs 2022-10-09T13:06:56Z

Adorable game! Would be nice if the game was a little bit slower; it's very easy to get overwhelmed as the game progresses. Otherwise, I really loved it. Matches getting actual matches is very clever and funny! And it was fun to even just watch matches checking stuff out on their own. Anyway, this game also reminded me why I am glad to be out of dating scene. Seeing those poor matches burning out hit home. :)

Birdwatching by Iguanana 2022-10-03T07:15:24Z

That’s an intense bird watching! I am a big fan of typing games, so, well done! Pretty unforgiving tho - would be nice to have "easier" mode where if you don’t hit the proper key, the typing progress stays. Undoing the whole progress is pretty unforgiving, but perhaps that’s part of the fun! Too bad that there is not some game over window that would show us how many birds have we watched or how many seconds did we last, so we can compare!

Exp10sion by lynnezzzy 2022-10-06T16:26:40Z

Very impressive entry! I love how deeply you explored the game mechanics via various levels, it was great! Seeing ghosts of my previous self reminded me of Super Meat Boy, but ghosts actually did something in this game. I think this is very impressive and if I were you, I would could think about making a full game out of this afterwards. :)

Jekyll and Hide by Gangrue 2022-10-03T07:04:34Z

Awesome game! I love how the music changes once you turn into the murderer. Art is absolutely amazing too. Everything fits together well and seems super polished. Loved it!

One Shot Death by cafebeef 2022-10-06T16:23:13Z

Love a bullet hell type of games! Well implemented and great to see many different bosses! This would go super well with some hectic music. Perhaps next time. Either way, nice one!

The Cursed Tart by Ilari 2022-10-09T12:26:14Z

This is a very nice game! Love the 2.5 effect, it looked gorgeous! Otherwise, would be nice to have at least 3 lives; 2 felt a little bit harsh, and would be nice to be able to walk diagonally. But totally understandable that there was not a time for this. Otherwise, I had a lot of fun playing this and the amount of levels was pretty generous, especially considering the fact that this is Compo game. Well done!

You Have 10 Seconds! by Shibaya 2022-10-09T12:56:46Z

Awesome tutorial, loved it! Otherwise this is a pretty interesting take on the theme! Very challenging, but that's part of the fun!

LD52 — Harvest

Apples & Oranges by euske 2023-01-10T16:10:50Z

Very clever idea! Random generation like this definitely adds to the replayability. And glad that enemies are somewhat predictable, with their specific patterns. However, I felt that I had to rely on mercy of RNG gods too much, which don't usually like me, so the game often spawned me right next to enemies, or I got to the dead end quickly. However, great job here, had fun! :)

The Harvest of the Corn Children by Tero Pulkkinen 2023-01-12T06:06:02Z

That's kinda funny, I was thinking about the Children of the Corn when thinking about the this theme, so, interesting take on the theme here! The biggest issue for me were controls - if you stop holding the key, you should make the Donald stop right away. That jump on the right is frustrating, because he just keeps sliding off of it. Otherwise very interesting - seems like your own engine, that's always interesting, and interesting to see the source code in one file! And I realy liked the music. Great job, if you really spent only 15 minutes on it!

H. R. Vest by mvasko2 2023-01-11T12:23:26Z

Finished this. I love the use of the hand drawn graphics; nice change from the usual pixel/low-poly look of most of the games, I always have a soft spot for hand drawn graphics. Atmosphere here is just amazing! The use of light going out is superb and works great. Puzzles weren't too hard for me. The only thing to improve would be a text - sometimes it rendered slightly blurry, but that's realy nitpicking. Great game, one of my favorites!

Penrose Process by cogcomp 2023-01-12T06:35:03Z

I think that this is actually pretty great! The graphics reminded me of old vector graphics games, the music is excellent and the dynamic gameplay where the speed changes depending on your position was very fun! What was a little bit disruptive was the music cutting off and then starting again very often. You have a great music here, so I think it would be better to just have it play in the main menu and then keep playing it without any disruptions. Eventually cut it on the game over screen, but even that is unnecessary, I think. Anyway, great game here, especially considering the fact that you only spent 16 hours on it!

Space Harvest by lfreinoso 2023-01-17T06:21:37Z

Interesting take on the theme and interesting to see Unreal used for 2D! Good color palette choice and interesting music! I was able to win after a third try. Once you understand what you're doing, it's pretty fun! But it was pretty confusing at the beginning - would be cool to have more different sprites for soldiers, because everyone looking the same made me think that the game was bugged somehow. Then I noticed that I had to harvest them and I understood. Nice entry! :)

Pickey (VR Only) by shadowbrain 2023-01-13T16:25:05Z

Would love to rate your game back, as I do for everybody who leaves the comment under my game, but I don't have VR. :( Maybe next time. :)

Martian Mind Hunter by tukisboolukis 2023-01-12T06:48:44Z

Impressive for such a small amount of time! Very nice and elegant visuals that felt very smooth and stylish. Surprisingly, I understood how to play really quickly, which is not usual for me as I don't play RTS very much, so great job there! Apart from few tiny things, like squares not always rendering and, I don't have much to add, that wasn't mentioned already. Great job here!

Aorta by Cloughd 2023-01-09T06:17:29Z

Love take on the theme, gotta harvest some human organs from time to time as well, not just crops. Great atmosphere and well done with the heartbeat! Two little things - my mouse cursor was visible through the whole game, which was kind of disruptive, I recommend hiding it next time. And would be great if game paused when reading letters. I couldn't read the whole letters due to being chased. But that could be on purpose, when I think about it. Anyway, great job, loved it!

haarvest by dokthar 2023-01-11T05:55:13Z

Having your own engine is impressive! When I looked at the source code, then yeah, that's a proper, real programming. :) Although there is not much gameplay, the atmosphere is great and tense, so great job there. Really anxiety inducing. Looking forward your next games!

Harkonnen Daily by asfdfdfd 2023-01-13T16:42:32Z

Very original take on the theme. Graphics are nice and stylish, and sounds are great! It's totally awesome to throw humans to the worm. However, gets a little repetitive after a while. It ran totally fine and like butter in the browser for me (Chrome, i5-12400, RTX 3060). Great job here!

Island Survivor by ursagames 2023-01-09T18:09:43Z

This was actually a lot of fun to play, and with wide variety of enemies. Sounds were great, especially "ouch", which was very amusing considering the fact that you are attacked by such a huge animals. Graphics were fairly simple, but worked well! I think that there is a great potential for this to be a really fun game to play, if you went with more shooting directions at once, and to counter that, spawn more enemies; just imagine that possible mayhem, that would be awesome! Great job. :)

My results btw:

Sparkle Slime Mushroom Man by brandann 2023-01-13T16:51:55Z

Nice sprites! And it feels very dynamic with time slowing down on mouse hold and with different velocity depending on the mouse position. Very fun to play and I love timer getting bigger when there are only few seconds left, feels very dramatic! Too bad there aren't any sounds, those would make it even better! Regardless, this is a great entry and you did a great job!

Harvest Simulator by kromeboy 2023-01-11T11:47:47Z

Fairly simple game, but fun! LOD is pretty amusing, but what else can be done, right? Haha. I love that you included the online scoreboard. I am third now!

HER-V by Kilirane 2023-01-11T06:06:34Z

Wow, this is very impressive! The game kept me really engaged, and the gameplay is really fun, I love this! Graphics look properly retro and simple great. And the gameplay is super polished for such a small amount of time. I got game over just short of 6/6 phase. Incredible job, really well done! I think if you spend some more time on it after LD, I don't see a reason why this couldn't be a proper, standalone game. :)

Who's going to beat my score?

Village of Plenty by p0l4r 2023-01-11T16:35:19Z

Interesting take on the theme, you don’t see many card games here! What I lacked the most is the tutorial or even a simple description of how to play, because card games are not really my thing. So, I am doing something, but I am really not sure whether correctly at all. :)

Herfst by SludgeKey 2023-01-11T12:32:31Z

That's a very unique take on the theme! Loved the graphics. I am a sucker for weird and borderline creepy games like this. Well done! Too bad there aren't pretty much any sounds, those would make this really special. Great game still, loved it!

Soul Harverster by MarcoMing 2023-01-11T17:57:46Z

Interesting take on the theme! And impressive that you were able to pack the multiplayer into it. I think dod108 said everything that needs to be said. But I have to say that you're very brave to try to tackle a beast that is Unreal on your first try. I was unsure about using 3D in Godot, and I've been familiar with that engine for quite some time, so your bravery definitely inspires me. Keep going. :)

Flush U by dry-squid 2023-01-10T06:30:28Z

This must be the most original take on the theme I've seen yet. Very amusing! Great sounds, "walking" animations combined with their sound were really funny! And you don't see many local coop games. But towards the end, the game spawns so many aliens, that there is no reason to fight over them anymore. When I look at their numbers, I shudder to think how it's going to look like in that shop!

Petra Rabbit's Carrot Chase by TheseusInABottle 2023-01-09T06:47:00Z

Loved the graphics style here. Very amusing music and sounds, I bet you had a lot of fun here! If there is something I would improve slightly, it's the camera - would be great to be able to zoom in or zoom out, and perhaps even be able to move it 360° all around, but that's really nitpicking. Enemies didn't pose a lot of challenge, since their hitboxes were fairly small and you can dodge them easily. But all in all, very well done and had a lot of fun, and my bunny too!

Harbinger's Harvest by Mad Brokli 2023-01-12T06:12:12Z

Love bullet hell types of games. I think the huge improvement for the enemies would be a knockback effect - I can see I am killing them, but I don't feel it. And the movement is kind of "floaty", so it makes it kinda hard to dodge projectiles. Otherwise, I had a lot of fun, the music is nice, and I think you did a great job here!

Operation Carrotfield by archfan7411 2023-01-10T06:09:23Z

Great music and nice take on the theme. My bunny approves, except for the use of nuclear weapons. Is that the reason why some carrots can grow into grotesque sizes? Either way, very fun game, but gets very easy the more you play. Great job here!

Harvest Mania by shahinm 2023-01-09T05:54:29Z

Pretty fun game and great job for your first Ludum Dare! I like the night-day transitions! I would suggest some tutorial or "How to play," because it took me few tries to figure everything out. First time, I just harvested everything as soon as it grew and ended up having no pollen and confused. Second time, I waited for pollen to appear above flowers which it did, but then I took the pollen and harvested flower right away. And on third try, I finally figured out that flowers are giving more pollen, so I should not harvest them super quickly. Could be just my sleep deprivation tho. :)

Charles, the Bee by Blue Pin Studio 2023-01-10T06:19:06Z

Wow, what a great game you made in such a small time! I realy loved the visuals - the game looks so good! Music is great too. I liked both sections of the game - dancing was fun (although I would personally like to see some visual feedback when hitting it right or wrong). And the collecting section was realy great. I like that you included the arrow that points where to fly - really useful. Super polished, and definitely one of my favorite games so far!

Elite Brain Harvester Zombie by Pulni 2023-01-11T06:52:41Z

Fairly simple, but kept me engaged! Very fun use of music and sounds effects! Updates are great and make a lot of sense. I wish there was some hit indicator, not just for me, but for the enemies as well. At first, I thought my attacks weren't doing anything :)

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-08T20:48:05Z

Thank you for letting me know! Can confirm; slightly laggy for me too, but Window build should be much smoother. Unfortunately didn't have time to optimise it further. :(

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-09T06:02:33Z

Hey @shahinm, thank you for feedback! You bring the interesting point about the game loop. The gameplay loop here is about desperately trying to save as many crops as you can before the inevitable demise. Idea is that you can try different tactics - either ignore the fire completely and try to harvest everything you can while risking fire spreading out more quickly, or trying to put the fire out with the water, which slows the harvesting down, or trying to targetedly destroy crops in attempt to cut the fire's way. Rated your game back. :)

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-09T06:36:13Z

Thank you for the comment, @poietic-ruby! No happiness here, just pain and suffering. :) There is an ending though - if most of your crop are harvested or burn, you get the game over screen with the summary of how many plans have you harvested and how long are you going to survive with them. Rated your game back!

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-09T17:55:15Z

Thank you for the awesome feedback, @jonqs! Indeed, with me, there is always some darker twist. Glad the demon freaked you out! And I already rated you game. :)

Thank you for your positive feedback, @found-bow-tonight. Demon is just flying around, looking at your inevitable demise, but does not serve any other purpose, really. It was inspired by Tzitzimitl, a mystical Aztec deity. However, it could have been more freaky, that's for sure. Rated your game back. :)

Thank you for your great feedback, @cloughd, glad to hear that you liked controls - I figured I couldn't go wrong with the typical 3D FPS ones. And I love hearing about the approach you took, every approach has something into it. Glad you were able to support your family. And I see I already rated your game. :)

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-09T21:12:22Z

@iminsoftware thank you for your comment! Glad you liked the style. And that's alright, the soil is super dried out and the sun is blazing! Rated your game back. :)

@ipsl0re thank you for your great feedback! You have a great point with being able to carry more crops at once. Maybe like 5 of them? That's actually a great idea, too bad it didn't occur to me. Glad you liked the fire spread, it took me a while to figure out how should that mechanic work. I didn't want to go with area detections, because I was worried about even the bigger performance drain, so I ended up with the idea of embers. Glad you liked it! Rated your game back. :)

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-10T16:12:05Z

Thnk you for comment, @euske! The demon in the sky just wanted to take a look at your suffering. Farmer life indeed is tough, especially when the end times are coming. Rated your game back :)

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-11T06:42:42Z

Thank you for your feedback @joefazz. Glad you liked the atmosphere! It's pretty much about choosing whether to endlessly fight the fire or just let it run wild and try to save what's left. You need to harvest something, otherwise you are going to starve, but at the same time, harvesting slows you down and lets the fire destroy more and more quickly. Unpleasant choices!

Glad you like the mechanics @nwt, and indeed, my sound engineer is the best of his kind. He's so tired that he's sleeping next to my feet now. Very demanding jam!

Thank you for your feedback @kilirane, having the atmosphere described as "Silent Hill like" makes me really happy. True that once we know we cannot control it, we can resign, but that's the time when we have to push harder. :)

Hey @seltzerfish, thank you for the comment, glad to hear that! Played the Windows build or HTML5 one? I suspect Windows one. :)

Thank you for your feedback, @t90! It's true that you're assessing the damage here, because the new fire will always start. :) And thank you so much for letting me know about those bugs, I have absolutely no idea how those slipped through, especially the infinite harvest one, wow! Guess I was a little bit in the blindfolds mode the second day. Have to fix those after the jam!

Rated all of your games back too. :)

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-11T12:34:15Z

Thank you for the comment, @leon-oost and love to hear about your approach. Rated your game back. :)

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-11T16:37:46Z

Hey @p0l4r, thank you for the comment! Sickle can be used to try to cut the way where the fire can spread. The fact that the fire is growing faster is... true, good point. :) Glad you liked the atmosphere. Rated your game back!

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-12T07:00:11Z

Thank you for the comment, @tero-pulkkinen. You're right, it kind of is when you think about it. :)

Thank you for the feedback @mad-brokli. Glad you liked the visuals. Interesting, a lot of people think that the fire started raging too quickly. Balancing is my nightmare. :)

Thank you for your feedback, @nullval! I thankfully implemented the game logic pretty well, so implementing tutorial was actually super simple and quick, so I went with it. Glad you liked it there. In case of game over and playing again, it does not appear anymore too. The demon was inspired by the Aztec mythology, it's like a representation of famine. It destroys the world all around equally, nothing personal!

Thank you for the comment, @thesmellofoxygen. Great tactics!

Thank you for a feedback, @cogcomp! That is a great idea. I wanted to do something like that, but unfortunately, didn't have enough time for that. Maybe next time or after the jam! Fire indeed grows out of control fast, it was pretty hard to at least somewhat balance, didn't want to make the game too long, but yeah, could have been slower.

Thank you for your comment, @stone-pacifier. And I have a feeling that it saw you as well. Very well!

Rated all of your games back. :)

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-12T18:35:44Z

Thank you for the comment, @math-daemon. Glad you liked the graphics and that the scared you like this, haha! Yeah, balancing is always my Achilles' heel, I completely agree there. :)

Hey @streq that's the best way how to do it, don't go with any expectations. Glad you enjoyed it! You have a good point with starting with simple task and watching it all go away, maybe watching Pathologic videos did that to me. Proper ending instead of game over screen sounds like a nice idea. Will try next time. :)

Rated your games back. :)

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-13T17:04:38Z

Thank you for your review, @deimos! Good point with pixel ratio, most of the items match certain ratio, as I made them in Aseprite, so that was easy to keep under control. However, grain bin or water well don't match that, would take too much time to get them match perfectly. Glad you liked the gameplay and the feeling it invoked in you!

Thank you for the rating, @xoreaxeax. Indeed, it's impossible to keep it under control, so you did well!

Thank you for comment, @asfdfdfd, your game has style too. :)

Glad you liked the artstyle, @brandann. Thank you for your comment!

Thank you for your review, @blue-pin-studio. That's a great way how to do it and probably the best tactics! I understand you quitting the game afterwards, but there is a very evil feature implemented that detects whether there are any fires and if there aren't, it makes sure that it doesn't stay that way, so the fire would get out of control again eventually, so no need to worry about having to harvest 500 crops. No way how to run away from this evil. :)

Thank you for your rating, @shadowbrain. You have a good point with walking sounds, but not sure how to tackle that in the future. That will require some thinking. :)

Rated all of your games back, if not rated already. :) Apart from the VR one, as I don't have VR. :(

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-14T10:20:16Z

Thank you for your thorough feedback, @mvasko2! Yea, someone already mentioned that and using left and right mouse buttons for different items sounds like a great idea. When it comes to stamina, then you bring a great point. I wanted to implemented it from the start, but then sort of forgot about it. True that if you don't use stamina, you will end up holding Shift the whole game. Will keep those in mind. Thank you very much! And I see I already rated your game. :)

Glad you liked the atmosphere and that game ran without any lags, @marcoming. You must have a pretty powerful PC. Thank you for your comment! And I see I rated your game already. :)

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-15T10:00:40Z

Thank you for the thorough feedback, @dry-squid! Hopefully burning the fields when you were kid went better than in this game. Mini objectives sound very fun! Maybe after LD. And I see I rated your game already. :)

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-17T06:23:32Z

Thank you for the feedback @lfreinoso! Glad this made you think about the life of farmers. You have a good point that some difficulty selection would be cool, I wanted to include "fast" and "slow" mode of gameplay, but didn't have enough time. Rated your game back. :)

Thank you for the comment, @buni! I can definitely see that, will keep in mind for the next time. Rated your game back. :)

Night of the Zombie Chickens by Jonqs 2023-01-08T22:48:31Z

Now that's my kind of harvesting. 350 hours in Farming Simulator prepared me for this! Great take on the theme. Took me a little bit to understand how to play. Harvesting (of normal crops) didn't work for me, or I am perhaps doing something wrong. How was Godot 4 treating you, by the way? I wanted to check 4, but I went with 3.5, for extra safety. :)

Noxious Harvest by Pe7e 2023-01-09T19:30:58Z

Loved this one. Very different kind of game compared to most of other ones. When looking at screenshots, I didn't expect HTML5 game, because it looks beautiful! Really good textures and nice animations, loved it. Just the right amount of challenge and seeking. And thank you for including sprint as well. Well done. :)

Radiance by XOREAXEAX 2023-01-13T16:36:45Z

This looks absolutely mindblowingly great! And those sounds... you definitely hit the mood big time. It looks, sounds and feels awesome. Haven't seen any idle game this jam yet. However, as others mentioned, it would need more things to buy. If I were you, I would continue on this after jam, I think you could have something realy great here. :)

There Was A Day by T90. 2023-01-11T06:26:44Z

You don't see many graphical novels this jam, so this is a nice change. Great story and writing! And I welcome our new AI overlords. It's scary how good loking art AI is able to generate. However, more facial expressions would make the characters feel more engaging. And, and I have this issue with almost all visual novels - I am a pretty fast reader, so the text appearing felt kind of slow, I would prefer to have it a little bit faster. This way, I revealed the whole dialogs right away. But that's no biggie. Great job here!

Erntehelfer by th1z 2023-01-09T07:05:36Z

Really good job with controls here. Harvesting is super satisfying for some reason, it really scratches my itch. Gameplay is fun and kept me engaged. Loved the use of questionable images, really made me laugh. Great job here, one of my favorite games so far!

Pointless Harvest by WouterK12 2023-01-11T12:06:33Z

Blows my mind how well optimised this is! Runs like a butter and looks gorgeous. I was wondering whether this wasn't made in Unreal, because it looks so good and was surprised that it's actually Unity. You're very talented! Harvesting feels very satisfying with its great feedback and sounds! The only thing I would improve are hitboxes - they felt slightly too big and unforgiving. Another thing would be faster progression, since it feels kind of slow. But that has been mentioned several times already. Awesome job here, you could have a full feature game out of this if you work on it after LD!

A Farmer's nightmare by streq 2023-01-12T18:18:00Z

A lot of fun! You really nailed the harvesting now. It feels super responsive and satisfying, which not something a lot of games can accomplish, especially with such a time limit. Art style and colors chosen are great too! But I always got rekt by the blood wheat in the end. The nightmare never ends! Great game :)

a farmer and his fields, bound together by deimos 2023-01-13T16:30:54Z

I love how Pico-8 makes the games feel properly retro. Nice graphics and sounds. This surely makes me feel how tedious farming is. One full year was enough, my wrist hurts, I want to go back to the office, farming is not for me! I wonder whether someone went through all 60 years, those would need some extra price :)

(we sell) P.E.O.P.L.E. by nullval 2023-01-12T06:21:00Z

Interesting take on the theme! As many, I didn't notice that those boxes were scrollable. Good practice is to make the box a specific side that it cuts the text a litle, which suggest scrollability. Too bad it doesn't scale, would make it easier for me to read everything:

2023-01-12_07-16-44.gif

Otherwise, very interesting idea and once I understood it properly, I had fun. But deadlines are sure brutal, just like in real life. :)

Harvest Soon by ImInSoftware 2023-01-10T15:50:13Z

Incredibly beautiful color palet here! Graphics are so simple, yet so well done. I really love the attention to detail like when you have a non-square field and it's not a perfect shape, but edges somewhere are imperfect. Love it! I would realy love to be able to switch between items by pressing 1-9 on the keyboard though, that would be awesome!

Protect the Garden by Buni 2023-01-17T06:14:41Z

Haven't seen the tower defence game this LD yet, so, nice one! Having to harvest your "towers" is an interesting twist. However, it is too challenging at the beginning - player should start with a little bit more money. It would also make it easier if the player could select plant by clicking on its icon - I accidentally placed it behind the UI, despite your warnings. Also, the game over sound scared the hell out of me. Otherwise, this is a very nice game and definitely replayable several times. :)

Carrot Simulator by Triangle Point 2023-01-09T07:44:57Z

Awesome graphics and animations. I loved the `>:|` face on the arm and carrot's face, especially when caught! I wonder whether you didn't mix height and width settings on itch.io, because it loads as portrait mode instead of landscape for me:

2023-01-09_08-39-24.png

But that can be fixed easily by making the game fullscreen.

Also, this is a really good music! Not sure if shopping working properly for me - I would prefer instant response from trader, but maybe I was just doing something work. Either way, great job here!

The Neighbour's Peanuts by Alec Cunningham 2023-01-12T05:53:32Z

You don't see many games made in Blender directly. Great job, very amusing and perfect length for a jam game!

Minerals Planter by Found Bow Tonight 2023-01-09T17:47:46Z

Nice first time LD entry! I really liked the graphics and premise. Controls were pretty good and smooth. But enemies are pretty ruthless, I think one hit to kill them would be more than enough. Lizards are properly freaky, with their super fast movements, they set the mood nicely when you see them crawling in the background. :)

Real Harvest or not??? by Poietic Ruby 2023-01-09T06:34:41Z

Great job with your first Ludum Dare! Really well looking graphics and animations! Fights are pretty challenging, but I was able to progress pretty nicely. As comments above said, attack could have some better key, like E or Space, but no biggie. :) Great job!

Reap by Ipsl0re 2023-01-10T15:58:51Z

You got the looks right; this really looks like old flash games. It has its charm! I think this is a good first time LD entry. And Godot is indeed amazing. :)

Honey Harvest by Lukas Boersma 2023-01-11T08:05:05Z

Great idea, but a little bit too challenging for me. I think this was the closest call :)

2023-01-11_09-02-57.png

"Neighborly Love" by seltzerfish 2023-01-11T06:14:56Z

What a great game! Intro is amazing, and never knew tomatoes were pretty much berries, just better! As mentioned above, at first, I thought it was about being your neighbor while everyone working on their own fields, but then he crossed to mine and I was very surprised, so it was on! Got beaten the first round, but I beat him on the next try. Very amusing to push your enemy into the traffic. Great controls, music, sounds and graphics too. And AI felt really smart and human like. Amazing job with this one! I really love it, had a lot of fun!

A Small Village by MostLikely 2023-01-09T06:54:54Z

Amazing artstyle here - it looks so elegant and good! However, it was a little bit too challenging for me. I think this game would benefit greatly from are some simple animation that would show you that you are doing something, because at first, I didn't even know my villager was doing anything until I looked at the numbers below. But I understand that there was probably not enough time for that. Either way, great job here!

Down to Earth by Chum Chum 2023-01-09T18:16:44Z

Nice entry. This got nice mix of smooth and easy to understand controls while having engaging action. Once there is a lot of enemies, it gets pretty tense. Thank god the pickups don't disappear, that would be nervewracking even more. Great job you did here, had a lot of fun. :)

Desert Harvest by math_daemon 2023-01-12T18:06:18Z

Interesting take on the theme! What I missed the most were some indicators - I was not sure about the status of every pod. Even number would be great. But 48 hours is very limiting, so that's alright. And it seems that you wrote the whole game yourself without using any game engine, just with the SDL library, which is always huge plus and I would say usually much more programming than devs who use game engines. :)

Desert Harvest by math_daemon 2023-01-13T17:07:54Z

@math-daemon it's all about gaining experience and it seems that you gained plenty. Making everything by hand has a charm, but... I like to make things easier for me. :)

Farm Them All- TechNet by Lucas Guichard 2023-01-10T06:43:23Z

This is an impressive amount of work. I was impressed by the AI and environment that can be destroyed. Assets look great and coherent. Fake chat is great and very funny! Too bad that the tractor doesn't have more weight to it, I think it's too easy to flip it to its side. Other than that, super amazing and impressive entry!

Bean Farmer Extreme 2 by bytecauldron 2023-01-12T15:39:30Z

This was some proper extreme, button mashing fun. First round is pretty challenging, but once you get into it, this is super fun! Probably the most fun and engaging game I've played this jam so far! Very good choice of colors - it looks great, but at the same time, pleases my eyes! Animations were fun too - especially the sun on the select screen! Also, you have some really great music here! Definitely one of my favorite games of this jam!

Heart's Harvest by AidanBacon 2023-01-12T17:48:33Z

Very interesting idea! As people above mentioned, controls weren't super straightforward at the beginning, but I got used to them quickly. I really enjoyed listening stories and thoughts of residents! Growing is pretty fun, however, cooking became kind of a chore after a while. Why can't I rate this beautiful game, by the way?

Reaper's Holiday by JoeFazz 2023-01-11T05:46:36Z

That was a lot of fun. I was actually able to beat ghosts on a second try because I noticed that you are able to steal the coin from them even after they grab it, so I was stealing it out of their hands. :) Great music choice, assets look good and controls are nice. And 20 seconds of gametime is perfect for jam game. Great job!

Another Veggie Harvester Unit by validbit 2023-01-09T07:16:44Z

This was super zen for me for some reason. Kind of zoned out and just drove around, collecting vegetables. For some really uknown reason to me, the background reminded me of backgrounds in Tabletop Simulator, don't really know why, but it was giving out similar vibe. Btw since your game is Jam one, you still have time to implement the final screen; Jam games have 72 hours time limit, unlike Compo ones. I noticed that vegetables have Czech names too. If you're Czech as well, then zdravím a dobrá práce. :)

LD53 — Delivery

Air Delivery by pianoman373 2023-05-01T14:24:54Z

Beautiful artstyle, feels very charming. Dialogs are great too, gameplay as well and controls are nice too, although I felt pretty unsure with myself when climbing. Nice one. :)

Pneumatic Postman by klausklapper 2023-05-03T18:34:21Z

Oh wow, so much content here! Well done! Intro was super well done and set the great mood. Very interesting take on the theme, very original! The game ran pretty well, but I have a relatively beefy compuser. I like how smooth everything feels, especially when reading through letters and books!

My main complaint here would be a mouse sensitivity; the whole game is super sensitive, and interestingly, going fullscreen made it several times worse, with me moving the mouse just a tiny bit, but the view flying all over. But when not fullscreened, it was still playable. However, this is super impressively put together and you did an amazing job, definitely one of my favorite entries this jam, well done!

Bad News Network by ZeAntwan 2023-05-02T16:12:04Z

Well made entry. I liked the headlines, they were very funny... and sometimes sounded like something straight out of the clickbait articles and news, well done! However, I agree with the rest of the people here - felt pretty easy once you figure it out. That said, great one and well done!

Space Docker by Wahooney 2023-05-04T07:03:24Z

Finally some game that can make my computer's fans spin properly. Well done, looks and plays really well! What I don't understand is why packages don't fall down. I understand that I have a jetpack, but it seems that boxes are levitating over the gaps too. Is that intentional? Either way, awesome job with this. :)

LD53: House Delivery! by burnedkirby 2023-05-01T14:29:38Z

Interesting engine, haven't heard about this one before! I got a little bit overconfident towards the end, so I was driving super quickly, but the game showed me who was the boss.

A Day In The Life of a Stork by kiguel182 2023-05-02T19:20:52Z

Managed to deliver 9 babies. Not terrible! Got the nice difficulty curve with final destination getting further and further away. You could make an endless mode where you have to deliver babies and more and more stuff is filling your screens, I bet it would get realy intense soon. :)

AWOOoooo! Delivering your soul to the forest... .. . . . . Or Not.!? by INCD021 2023-05-02T16:28:49Z

Great atmosphere and pictures! Why can't I rate this, though?

The Infernal Trail by Tudvari 2023-05-01T21:05:47Z

Nice, you too have a game where you have to time attacks just right. Nice! I loved the humour here and I think you got a fairly balanced game as you wished for, even though it was getting pretty hard towards the end. Great job here! If there was something I would improve, it's for the player to not register wagon's hitbox, because once I got stuck in the crevice, even though that was just me being stupid (I thought I would be able to destroy the walls and overlooked a correct way), but that's no biggie. :)

The Infernal Trail by Tudvari 2023-05-02T15:49:22Z

@tudvari yes, like this:

2023-05-02_11-24-38.png

But like I said, that's just me being stupid, not like it makes any sense to do this. :D

God's plan by Raoph 2023-05-02T15:55:47Z

Nice to just chill in a while, and having no pressure on me. I really liked the artstyle, it looks great, especially for web game. Got confused by controls at the beginning, but figured them out pretty quickly. Taking and placing buildings feel very nice. Well done!

Sender Not Found by whycardboard 2023-05-01T09:53:53Z

Awesome game! Very original take on the theme, visuals are nice and elegant and once I've seen first darker emails, I knew I would have fun. And it definitely did not disappoint! Well done! And interesting choice or platform! How do you like React? I am learning it myself and I am planning to remake my personal websites with it, and I very liked it so far.

De-Liver by benskca 2023-05-04T06:52:05Z

Now THAT is a fun take on the theme. Very original! Very nice graphics; this style is not seen that often, and it looks nice and clean. Gameplay was fun as well and sounds made me laugh hard. The only issue I encountered was with the game over screen seemingly triggering couple of times, but that's no biggie. Well done!

City Transport Ordeal by LCStark 2023-05-05T06:57:04Z

Nice simple game, which reminded me of old GTA games a little bit. I would prefer if the car was turning a little bit more quickly to the sides, but no biggie. Braking felt great! Despite using just a few colors, everything is nicely visible, so, well done there!

A Letter To My Friend D by Foursay 2023-05-03T06:56:34Z

Beautiful storytelling here and nice, warm graphics. I like this interpretation of the theme! Well done animations of scene transition. Only thing I found confusing was the start screen; took me a little bit to figure out that the bottle is actually moving. And other thing I encountered was dialogs drifting a little bit to the left sometimes, which made me not able to fully read few of them, but happened only with like 3 or so. Otherwise this is a great entry and I enjoyed playing it!

Unwanted Delivery by Lone_Wolf 2023-05-17T18:10:59Z

This was actually awesome! Very fun to play and well made for only 15 hours of work. Graphics are pretty crude, but that's understandable for such a short time! I think that if you actually worked on this after jam, and used some old-school aesthetics, this could be a very good game you could be very proud of. And thanks for including "Cheat" feature, very good idea for a jam game. :)

Wobbly Eats by Srynetix 2023-05-01T11:15:51Z

Very fun to play, I always like these types of games! Very engaging and fun to play. Graphics are pretty simple, but work! Inkscape got much better with the last redesign. And I can finally see why some pizzas I ordered in the past looked like someone threw them at the wall, this explains a lot! Glad Godot 4 treated you well. I read many posts saying that it's not really ready for HTML5, so I kept it safe with Godot 3.5, but with your game, it seems that it works just fine. Or did you have to do something special in order to make it work properly? Anyway, nice entry, great work!

Wobbly Eats by Srynetix 2023-05-02T15:57:56Z

Ah, sweet, that's great to know! I thought that it wasn't supported at all. Then that seems like a pretty safe choice too. :)

Deliver Us From Evil by Team Watt 2023-05-04T07:13:35Z

I watched The Omen like two weeks ago, so this reminded me a little bit of it. Music is very good! Graphics are pretty simple, but work. Attacking and fighting could have more feedback, but come on, that's problem with my game too, so I definitely understand. Nice entry. :)

Serum Run by 3LSTMsInATrenchcoat 2023-05-01T11:45:47Z

Serum run was on my mind when thinking about the theme too, nice! This was well done; great choice of colors and great writing, which make this into quite an experience. Effects were great too! I think that I would like some house sprite when you arrive in the hideout, that would make this even better.

Very well done entry, I loved it and enjoyed it! Unfortunately, we died just a couple of hours away from the village. Arctic is indeed unforgiving!

Popcorn Odyssey by 0X_VOID_X0 2023-05-03T18:14:47Z

Great usage of camera, I love how it zooms in and our depending on how close are you to your popcorn! Solid gameplay with a great variety. Music is soothing and makes a pleasant atmosphere. Well done!

Crystallium by MikoziQ 2023-05-01T14:03:40Z

Absolutely amazing visuals glowing and melting effects look awesome! It took me a couple of tries to figure out that you only have to use left and right arrows, because I expected that the buttons would steer progressively to their sides. Interesting idea!

But I think you could have let the player to press the same key multiple times, because sometimes when you get to the edge of the road and there is an obstance, there is no way how to avoid it. But overall this is a great entry, and I had a lot of fun!

Ambrosia by Demure 2023-05-01T11:27:07Z

WOW, this is absolutely incredible! Visuals and sounds are just amazing and mesmerising. And when I read what did you have to do in order to make them, then I have to say that you are very creative and clever.

I am also surprised that this well looking game runs in HTML5. Great job here!

Resource delivery by Ellistar 2023-05-02T18:09:02Z

Nice, now that is an original take on the theme! Worked well for me, but the progress felt a little bit slow to me. Otherwise, very impressive amount of work that had to go into this!

The Silver Fleet by KyleTheCoder 2023-05-01T20:26:41Z

Perfect jam game - nice and coherent graphics, fun to play, reasonably challenging and with great music. You really nailed it! I think that dying sound got a little bit repetitive after a while, but that's really nitpicking. Great job!

The Envelope by DzejPi 2023-05-01T09:16:28Z

@teadrinker thank you! Glad you liked it. :)

The Envelope by DzejPi 2023-05-01T10:53:28Z

Thank you for the review, @emily-ttg! You're definitely right. Monster was a little goofy indeed. I was trying to fix jumping literally 30 minutes before the deadline, but couldn't do it. Shouldn't have watched the movie on Saturday, those 2 hours I spent by watching it could be spent on improving this. This was my first time doing 3D "AI," so I had to overcome quite a few challenges, and it looks like... this, yeah. I think that, paradoxically, if I made it 3D, it would be both easier and better looking at least, I probably need to ditch billboarded 3D sprites altogether, they are not saving that much time and can look whack. Thank you for the comment again, I will check your game once I figure out how to run it. :)

The Envelope by DzejPi 2023-05-01T14:05:32Z

Thank you for a nice rating, @mikoziq! Yeah, I could have done a better work with the monster, I wanted it to look like The Rake, but it left a lot to be desired, haha. And yes, the red stuff was supposed to be a crowbar. I wanted to make description which would show what you're picking, but didn't have the time. It's also the only weapon that doesn't break. Thank you for rating, rated your game back!

Glad you liked the controls, @buni. Rated your game back. :)

The Envelope by DzejPi 2023-05-01T20:29:55Z

Thank you for the review, @glove! You're definitely right with the hit indicator, that would be a simple thing to add, too bad it didn't occur to me. Glad you liked the performance. I remember that my last game did not have a great performance in HTML5, so glad that at least this worked. :)

Thank you for the comment, @kylethecoder! That's super strange, I wonder why it didn't show up at all. I played the game like at least 30 times on the last day. Guess that's software for you, and reason why I work as QA. Thank you for playing!

Thank you for the insight, @jakeblake! Ah, that's a good point, and wouldn't be that hard to make. I will keep it in mind for the next time!

Rated all of your games back, if not rated already. :)

The Envelope by DzejPi 2023-05-01T21:07:24Z

@kylethecoder wouldn't occur to me, but even if you did, you would totally have a right to do that. :)

@tudvari Yeah, you can kill it, but you need to find a weapon first and hit it when the time is right, and hit it several times. And thank you for the great review, you have great points and I am taking notes for the next time. Rated your game back. :)

The Envelope by DzejPi 2023-05-02T16:09:59Z

Thank you for the commment, @raoph. I wanted something unusual, glad you liked the atmosphere!

Thank you for the review, @bartalomew. Glad you liked it, but I liked yours much better, haha!

Rated your games back. :)

The Envelope by DzejPi 2023-05-02T18:13:29Z

Glad you liked the game and had fun, @fluburbio! Monster can be a little too harsh, that's true. But I don't think you missed anything, just a different screen at the end. :) Thank you for your comment!

Thank you for the comment, @hoshinu! Glad you liked the atmosphere. It's true, the fighting mechanic could be much better, will keep that in my notes for the next time!

Thank you for the comment, @vydra! You're right, monster could make more sounds. I wonder - did the browser version not work for you? Didn't really test Linux build, so it's possible that it's not working well. Thank you for letting me know!

You're right @bopohx, fun gameplay is always my problem. :D Thank you for the comment!

Rated all of your games back! :)

The Envelope by DzejPi 2023-05-03T07:03:57Z

Thank you for your kind words, @ellistar, glad it scared you, monster sounds are actually me, but heavily edited in Audacity. :D

Thank you for your review, @kiguel182! Awww, didn't want to scare the cat! Hope it's alright, give it a hug on my behalf! And yeah, you're right, could have done a better job there, will keep in mind for the next time. :)

Thank you for your comment, @sdelay! Yeah, I figured out that numbers could be very helpful, since it could be easy to get lost. Plus the fog is not applied on them, since they are only 3D labels, but that's actually a good thing here. :)

Glad to hear that you liked it, @neo97! Thank you for the comment. :)

Thank you for your review, @foursay! You're right with the size of the level. I was originally making it like twice as big, but then I figured out that I had to make it smaller, and even that probably made it quite huge. I was pretty scarce with weapons in order to make this more scary. >:)

Thank you for the review, @0x-void-x0! That's a strange bug, hasn't happened to me before, will check after the jam. Do you think that the player speed was pretty fast? I am usually trying to avoid the movement which is too quick. I wanted to put stamina into the game too, but ran out of time, unfortunately; perhaps next time. Thanks a lot for the comment!

Thank you for the comment, @smdg! I was fighting with audio a little bit this time for some reason, will do better job next time. Thank you for playing!

Thanks for the review, @klausklapper! Weapons are pretty scarce, true, but I did it on purpose. Now about the building 53... it's indeed not there, lol. But your last objective after building 20 technically is just to survive, and then the game ends with you either killing the monster or it killing you. Let's pretend that the building is missing on purpose, holy sleep deprivation!

Rated all of your games back. :)

The Envelope by DzejPi 2023-05-04T07:17:33Z

Thank you for the review, @benskca. You're right with the repeated sounds, I should have spend some time or fixing them. When I think about it, it would be a fairly easy fix. And nice to see that you were trying to be a good mailman. Unfortunately, monster had different plans in mind. :)

You're definitely right, @wahooney. This part was not really well done, will keep in mind for the next time. Thank you for your rating!

Thank you for the comment, @team-watt. Glad it gave you chills and you liked the monologue!

Rated all of your games back. :)

Thank you for the comment. Glad that you liked it, @obe-dot! Rated yours back. :)

The Envelope by DzejPi 2023-05-05T06:59:04Z

@lcstark repetitive work causing you to go insane would be a great idea! I am taking notes. Glad you found the weapon quickly, I bet it turned out very handy! Thank you for the review, rated your game back. :)

The Envelope by DzejPi 2023-05-05T17:11:39Z

Thank you for the comment, @srynetix! Definitely true with the fact that it's difficult to know whether the monster was hit or not! And don't be afraid of 3D. At first, it seems like a crazy idea for a jam, but it's actually doable and one extra dimension of fun than it usually is. Just gotta feel confident in modeling at least a little bit, and it's doable! And I see I already rated your game. :)

The Envelope by DzejPi 2023-05-09T14:58:34Z

Thank you for the great comment, @pianoman373! You have great points and I am taking notes. And I see I already rated your game. :)

The Envelope by DzejPi 2023-05-17T18:13:22Z

Thank you for the comment, @lone-wolf! Glad you think it's bug-free experience, because it certainly isn't. Definitely try 3D out, it's very fun! But I recommend some practice beforehand. Rated your game back. :)

Thank you for the review, @dishwand! I am glad that you liked dithered bleeding UI, it actually super simple to make in Aseprite! Rated your game back. :)

Delivery by jakeblake 2023-05-01T10:50:15Z

Pretty fun! It's probably the tiredness from previous days, but it was pretty challenging to get the different falling speeds right. And I see they got very good at packaging tanks. Great game, especially what it seems to be your first LD. Hope you had fun, first LD was magical!

Delivery Champ by Brandon Campbell 2023-05-02T15:51:45Z

Ah, finally some great game about delivering babies. Absolutely hilarious. Red effects when pressing the wrong buttons are weirdly gross, lmao (not complaining, haha).

Conveyor Chaos by SMdG 2023-05-03T18:24:37Z

Took me a while to figure out that I cannot rotate belt if there is already something on it. I was wondering why it didn't work for me. :) But once I figured it out, I had a lot of fun. Although as other said, super challenging. Some scores here are pretty impressive, I almost celebrated when I wasn't in minus points, haha. Great job with graphics and sounds, it looks and sounds great!

Oliver the Bartender by sdelay 2023-05-03T06:39:56Z

This actually a lot of fun to play! Animations are definitely a good idea and I especially love the animations when the new stuff is added to the screen. Only one complain - this sort of movement feels a little off, but I got used to it eventually. Great job!

Its All in the Delivery by Glove 2023-05-01T14:14:29Z

That was very fun and original take on the theme. You nailed the colors down, and everything together created a great mood! Card choices were very funny and I think this could even be its own card game. Well done!

Delivery Dungeon by Buni 2023-05-01T13:52:56Z

Great to include a tutorial! Upgrade screen didn't work for me there, but worked properly in the normal game afterwards. Interesting and cute idea. I wonder what kinds of packages are expected by houses that are moving away from you! However, I think making the game a little bit faster would improve it a lot, movement felt pretty slow, especially with this many levels. But no biggie!

Groove 'n' Goods by ekaktusz 2023-05-02T16:08:58Z

Now finally, I see some proper delivery. Absolutely amazing music, what a banger that goes hard! Artstyle is great too, gameplay is pretty fun as well. Very original game which I truly enjoyed playing. Just keep any kids away. Well done!

The long way around by Fluburbio 2023-05-02T17:49:44Z

Absolutely charming, lovely artstyle and nice music! I enjoyed the gameplay a lot. Perfect jam game; short, fun and I liked the pong-style game, that was a nice touch! Apart from accidentally triggering some dialogs sometimes, this was perfect, and I really enjoyed it. Great job :)

Nightmaremaid by vydra 2023-05-02T17:59:50Z

Nice retro feel, but very limited FOV made me feel uneasy after some time, and makes the navigation pretty chalenging. And for some reason, I was kinda anxious and expected some monster behind every corner; this could be a good horror game. :)

Hamazon Waremouse by Hoshinu 2023-05-02T17:55:07Z

Nicely made and great work with using Godot for the first time! Music and art is surely charming. Although like other said, I would really like to have some visual feedback whether my order is correct, or not. :)

Delivery! NYC by Obe Dot 2023-05-04T17:17:06Z

Felt a little bit like a fever dream, but a good one. Very fun submission, finding out that I could right click made all the difference. :)

Glimpse of the Future by AigleSan 2023-05-02T19:27:44Z

Yes, I won! Nice to include the map, very helpful! Maybe I would use some other key for delivering newspapers, like Space or something. I would try to make the art more coherent next time, because it feels like there are several different artstyles at once. But great first entry nonetheless! Why can't I rate it, though?

Taent by Emily-TTG 2023-05-01T10:57:51Z

Is there some simple way how to run this on Windows? I see that there are some version of this engine for education and then some other version only for patreons, would it work on the free education version? Even the installation for it doesn't look straight out-of-the-box, so I wonder whether it's gonna work there. :)

Taent by Emily-TTG 2023-05-01T11:05:21Z

That's alright, thank you for info! In case they finish their submission and they make some edits to the engine in order to make Win builds afterwards, ping me and I will check it out!

Taent by Emily-TTG 2023-05-03T07:13:40Z

Glad to hear that you were able to get a Windows build for this, because you were leaving a great feedback to many people and couldn't get any back. Great atmosphere here, this would be a great intro for the bigger game, so keep going! The only thing I didn't really enjoy was the movement - it felt a little bit too slow, but that's not biggie. Well done and interesting engine of choice!

Delivery Force by teadrinker 2023-05-01T09:16:12Z

Awesome music, which DAW do you use? Great visuals! Controls were pretty fun, but as said above, I eventually crashed and got one of the thruster stuck at angle which made me spin around. When it comes to controls, then I would recommend allowing the usage of WSAD insted of keys as well, but that's nitpicking. :)

earthmover by dishwand 2023-05-17T18:01:33Z

Nice presentation, and seeing the main character move inside of a cube was very funny! I like how you present the new challenges. Pretty challenging though, I was often just guessing. I wanted to mention the dialog overflowing the background, but seems that this was a deliberate choice. :) All in all, great entry here, well done!

Same-Day Delivery by NEO97 2023-05-03T06:47:56Z

Some pretty intense action here! Great music as well! I think robots could have some sounds, so you can be alerted of their presence, sometimes it felt like they just appeared behind me. And I would like to have window breaking effect, could be very funny! But otherwise, great job and interesting engine of choice!

LD54 — Limited Space

StarDust by Geckoo1337 2023-10-03T07:02:54Z

Absolutely amazing experience, which reminded me of Scanner Sombre. Incredibly well looking. And well optimised too; my computer didn't even break a sweat!

Mr.AdBar by eddynardo 2023-10-03T04:57:45Z

Never played a game in the address bar, well done! This is probably the most original interpretation of the theme. Jumping over the obstacles sometimes felt pretty tight, but dashing made it easier! And now I gotta clean my browsing history, I felt brave and didn't use incognito. :)

PELLET BOI by TechnoNugget 2023-10-05T05:13:40Z

This is such a great idea with amazing movement and satisfying controls. If this is your first time using Rust and Bevy, then job well done! I will be honest, Rust is very fascinating language to me, so I always love to see it. I would perhaps include some "Game over" screen once you're no longer able to move. My score:

Pineapple Burger Pizza by godsboss 2023-10-03T16:23:37Z

This took me a while to figure out, but once I did, this was pretty fun. But I have to wonder - why do shoes taste like octopus? Do I want to know? Either way, very amusing game and burger pizza with sausages is definitely my new favorite one!

Hoarding Simulator by huga 2023-10-03T07:39:29Z

Very fun take on the theme. And a little sad. Scrolling could be faster, and too bad there weren't more items to place. However, I think that buying a cat is never a bad deal! Btw I love very bad quality pictures on the marketplace, it's really like buying used things online from people! Makes sense that I was doing well with monitors!

Harold's Furry Hazelnut Scurry by jeroenpx 2023-10-03T17:35:48Z

That's super adorable, it reminds me of Shelter a little bit! Sometimes the camera feels a little disorienting, but I can imagine it's super hard to get that right for such a game.

Depot Mania by Bernhard 2023-10-03T16:37:01Z

Very fun game! I thought the controls were kinda wonky at the beginning, but once I got used to them, they are actually pretty great and it feels very satisfying, especially when blocks snap into their place on their own. Well done, I had a lot of fun here!

Asteroid Base by JOZGames 2023-10-05T05:38:59Z

Very well made game with awesome visuals and very pleasant and nice to listen music, which is not often the case with jam games. Gameplay was simple enough to get started rapidly, even though I think it should be more obvious that you can scroll in the left side and see more buildings; at first, I thought there were only two buildings. Otherwise very good job and I think making a full feature game out of this is actually a very good idea, go ahead with it!

Eggcellent Oot by N3K 2023-10-05T05:05:48Z

I was able to get some eggs, eat couple of worms, and warm the eggs up, but to be honest, I was not really sure what I was doing lol and I was defeated at the end and not really sure why. Maybe adding some extra description (even here on this page) would help my smooth brain to figure this out. Otherwise, nice art!

Landfall by LCStark 2023-10-05T05:33:30Z

Not sure if there is anything more I can say that hasn't already been said, but I really loved the presentation, hexagonal grid, how it looks and it feels very cosy to play. Apart from taking me a little while to figure out that I had to requests for the colonists, the game was easy to figure out. Got me sucked in for a while, because it's really satisfying to watch numbers grow!

KosmoPod by Hakro 2023-10-09T05:39:26Z

I like the models, they look adorable! I ran into the bug too, so I just played it locally. I think the difficulty is scaling pretty nicely and sounds are pretty good too. Turning with ASD sometimes felt weird, but it makes sense. Otherwise, well done!

If I Fits, I Sits! by cheesepencil 2023-10-03T18:12:23Z

I don't know why, but it took me couple of tries to figure out that I need to stop the front of the cat first, but once I got into it, I had a lot of fun. It would be cool if the paws connected to the "stopped" body part stopped moving, I think that would be even funnier! Anyway, very original take on the theme, well done. And here is my score:

Whiskers in the Dark by Diego Teran 2023-10-03T06:54:46Z

This has an amazing artstyle and the play with lights, I absolutely love it! And the hand that grabs the kitten was genuinely terrifying. The hitboxes sometimes felt a little bit strict, but nothing I couldn't beat. Well done!

Fish in hat by satacat 2023-10-03T04:20:00Z

Great fever dream you've got here, I love it!

Natura by DzejPi 2023-10-03T16:53:06Z

Hey! Sorry for the later response, got too much work today, but I am here now. Thank you ALL for playing!

@congeesetador I can understand how controls can be overwhelming a little bit. And this is after simplifying them, actually! I totally agree with you about the music; I wanted to create it, but I was unfortunately desperately running out of time. Thank you for the review!

@forewillow glad you liked it, I am actually considering making a full feature game out of this, as I think this has a lot of potential, so thank you for motivating me further!

@huga true, perhaps shelter should have been a little bit bigger, I am taking notes!

@scolondev you're definitely right with the game not communicating well enough, I will keep that in mind. And I am glad that you liked the graphics style, I was inspired by Proteus. :)

@rena you mean your browser was too small? True that perhaps 1600 x 900 was a little big. Glad you had a good time still!

@foreyes nice cute ugly graphics, I need to print that somewhere, haha! Yeah, it's definitely confusing, I was planning to implement cutting down trees, but I was short on time, and was concerned about implementing the beehive removal logic too, if it would be a part of cut down tree. Now that I think about it, it shouldn't be terribly hard.

@godsboss oh no, yeah, that's true, those colliders can... collide. Anyway, that's still pretty fast, well done!

@bernhard yeah, I was planning icons, but ran out of time a little bit, whoops! Yeah, shelter is a little bit useless (or more like, it is allowing butterflies to survive in the winter, but butterflies are actually not doing much), but glad it at least brought some happiness, haha!

@pierre-marie thank you, glad you liked the season change! Fun fact - winter is twice as fast as other seasons.

I rated every single game back, and thank you all for amazing feedback! I am taking notes, since those are all great ideas!

Natura by DzejPi 2023-10-05T05:49:24Z

Thank you all for your reviews and comments!

@danielshershnev2game1 glad you liked the game!

@n3k noted. I was thinking about making autumn much longer, because there is not much to do the other seasons, when you think about it.

@jozgames muito obrigado!

@squiggelsquirrel true with the axe, I wanted to implement cutting trees down, but was out of time, unfortunately, so it had to work at least like that so it wasn't completely useless. :) Good point with shadows. I was trying to emulate a certain look, but you're right that it would help with that, will keep in mind!

@limichou good point with pointer, that would actually be a good idea. I was thinking about it, but then forgot. And it would be such an easy improvement! You're right that fireplace has no usage, and shelter is only for hosting butterflies in the winter, so... pretty much useless too, haha.

@thelastslowpoke thank you, I will be finishing this after the jam, or rather, make a whole game out of this! Stacking is pretty fun, but I know why it happens - because those items have colliders and it didn't occur to me that colliders would let the player stack things on it, good stuff. I work as a QA, so I should have caught that, lol!

@cheesepencil glad you liked the bees and had iron stomach, I didn't have time to balance that out, so I rather played it safe there.

@technonugget glad you enjoyed walking on the island. You're right that there was not really any purpose in fireplace. Visual feedback is a great idea, thank you for that!

@lcstark yea, for a full game, those seasons would have to be definitely much longer. I noticed the invisible collider in the middle of the island, but I was not able to figure it out... I had nothing in that place in the editor, and even outputting the name of the collider into console didn't return anything, so that is truly haunted, but good thinking about stacking things on it, actually! And good point with stacking overall, didn't realise that since those items had colliders, it would be possible to place things on them, haha!

Thank you once again to your awesome feedback! I rated all of your games back, if not rated already. Love the feedback and amazing ideas you all have!

Natura by DzejPi 2023-10-09T05:42:58Z

Thank you all for your comments and reviews!

@sudocoffee yeah, that is a very good idea, it indeed makes the terrain invisible. I am already thinking about how to make it, great idea!

@kris3 indeed, unfortunately, I ran out of time for music. I had some tutorial planned too, but I ran out of time too. Glad you liked the season change!

@hakro & @geckoo1337 I'm super glad that you enjoyed this!

Rated all your games back, if not already!

Too Maneon Loots by lastuck 2023-10-03T16:44:05Z

This looks great and this is a very original take on the theme, I love it, reading is hard, so when I dived in without reading, I was wondering what I was doing wrong with the fighting, but then I figured out I am dumb, just like Neon and played properly afterwards. Very fun game, but I would slow the pace a little bit, it was too hectic for me, but otherwise this is a very original and fun game!

Cube by DanielShershnev2Game1 2023-10-04T06:34:07Z

Very simple gameplay, but fun! I wonder why doesn't the cube "snap" into position always? Sometimes when I'm about to fall, and I save myself, it can skew into the direction that probably wasn't meant to be. Not that I'm complaining, it actually helped me to solve one level. :)

Voyd by amarokczukay 2023-10-03T03:55:55Z

This is a great idea for a game and great interpretation of the them! I love the graphics style and the gameplay gets hectic very quickly. Sounds and music are great too. Very good game overall, well done!

My score:

Icy Dinner by DurkaGames 2023-10-03T05:23:13Z

Great artstyle and sounds and I loved the intro, very charming! But 10 fish, man, dates these days are demanding! If I had one thing to complain about, it would be hitboxes. Seal's hitbox is way too big and sometimes it caught me even without me actually touching it; I suggest using circular hitboxes that are more closer to the shape of the enemy. It felt pretty hard because of that. Otherwise, this is a very lovely game and I enjoyed it!

Paula Poppet by ScolonDev 2023-10-03T08:19:03Z

This is quite an amazing game. Very tight, great controls, feels very smooth and fun to play. Graphics are wonderful and everything feels alive. Sometimes it can be a little overwhelming, but otherwise, you did a fantastic job and you’re very talented, keep it up!

Disk Defense by Congeesetador 2023-10-03T07:09:31Z

Very fun little game! It would be cool if I could hold the left mouse button and shoot on my own. But boi, the notification and the BSOD at the end scared me a little. I need to backup my old drives!

Limited Island by foreyes 2023-10-03T16:12:08Z

Beautiful artstyle and great animations! I didn't even realise the water was rising at the beginning. I gotta say, it was pretty challenging to and took me couple of tries to figure this out. See how close I was to drowning, but I did it!

2023-10-03_18-11-18.png

Elevators Go Boink by sudocoffee 2023-10-09T05:23:10Z

Hilarious! Not sure if there is much I can say that hasn't already been said. Love the dialogs! Buttons could be more obvious, for some reason, it took me longer than it should to find them. But otherwise very well executed and hilarious idea, love it!

Risto goes around the world by Katajisto 2023-10-03T17:19:12Z

This is very well looking game with interesting puzzles. But some instructions for my smooth brain would be great, even in the game description, took me a while to figure out. It's always nice to see custom engines, Rust is such an interesting language which I would like to pick some day. :)

Free Him by Rena 2023-10-03T15:48:20Z

Pleasant graphics, and great movement! I can get to the end very quickly; is that intentional? Otherwise, cute little game. :)

Shrink Up by 0Point 2023-10-03T07:25:07Z

I see that they definitely upgraded the rendering engine in Godot 4. That looks great! Even though a light felt a little bit too much sometimes, and platforming was sometimes pretty tight as well, but I managed to get to the end. That said, it would be nice to have some optimalisation; it was a lot to handle even for my RTX 3060, but was still playable. Well done!

Pocket Universe Snake by TheLastSlowpoke 2023-10-03T18:50:46Z

Very fun game, I was able to get to 59, which seems to be your score as well! But when I see other people's score, then those are rookie numbers. :) Otherwise, great wrapping mechanics here and I liked the effects on the globe. That said, I think the hitboxes could be a tiiiny bit smaller, sometimes it felt that I ate myself even though I thought I would make it. But that's no biggie, very cool entry!

Nice Park! by Barbabulle 2023-10-03T17:50:27Z

This is very fun to play; impacts are well implemented and driving physics too! And who would expect that the smallest cars would be the hardest to control? I found those a little frustrating, but nothing that couldn't be managed. And I have to say - the game looks great too, really well done there. And here is my score:

2023-10-03_19-48-55.png

The Shroud by Etienne Robert 2023-10-05T04:52:14Z

Nice atmosphere, easy to pick up, and it's definitely very satisfying to go through multiple enemies at once! I would really welcome walking with WASD, but that's just my personal preference. Otherwise good job, and very fitting music, I love to see Ableton!

A Bit Too Hot by Kris3 2023-10-09T05:27:55Z

I loved the cutscenes, and the graphics, very lovely! That said, I think the grabbing mechanic should detect walls, because it seems that I was simply able to pick her up and just drag her to the end right away. Otherwise very well done!

Space Ltd. by HangoverGames 2023-10-03T17:12:20Z

Oh wow, I almost feel guilty for having this much fun, I didn't expect such a violence! That intro and ending are absolutely perfect. And the gameplay... first couple of trees going down really made me laugh, squirrels flying around... and then the activists getting into the way and willing to be slaughtered. But what I wouldn't do for an extra bottle of vodka! This is definitely the most fun game I've played so far. Really well made, super fun, great details like the camera shake, I absolutely loved this. But I have to wonder what were the secrets; I was not able to figure them out!

Tetroniformer by SquiggelSquirrel 2023-10-05T03:56:37Z

Interesting concept! I think that everyone above already mentioned what I could, I personally missed some dedicated restart button the most. That said, this is a very interesting idea!

Lockdown: 1986 by Meru 2023-10-03T06:44:32Z

Beautiful art and design, it felt kinda cosy and a little nostalgic. And definitely reminded me of those weird times few years ago. Well done, I got the artist ending!

LD55 — Summoning

Board to Death by LandoSystems 2024-04-16T17:27:01Z

Wow, that's a lot of content. It always is a huge difference between Compo and Jam games. :) That's pretty impressive that this is your 30th game, and it shows. I like the mechanics (and I don't usually enjoy turn-based games!), take on the theme and those effects; it looks great! And another impressive thing is that it's written in Java, you don't see that much nowadays. I would also prefer if it was a little bit faster, but otherwise this is really impressive and well made entry!

Burnout Purgatory by Samuli 2024-04-16T16:17:49Z

This is an amazing idea, love it! And it is accurate too, this is exactly how the game dev is. I love how dialogs are written, and your graphics and artstyle. I know this will probably sound weird, but I was mesmerised by the walls, they look incredible!

VOC by cogcomp 2024-04-16T21:27:53Z

Nice little game, although I ran into some bugs here and there, especially with Space sometimes throwing me back to my previous location, but that understandable due to having this little time. Nice to see another Ableton Live user!

Patty Panic by thomz12 2024-04-18T19:02:10Z

Oh no, didn't realise it was the matter of life and death! That said, this was a very fun to play and like others mentioned, the difficulty curve was just right. Very polished entry! Could be made more interesting by having more kinds of foods, but on the other hand, running a restaurant with just one item, that's peak optimisation!

2024-04-18_20-56-50.png

Nexus by denvil 2024-04-17T19:02:48Z

A little harder to pick up, but an interesting idea, it's always nice when someone else does the fighting! Nice colors and pleasant music. Not sure if I can say anything that hasn't been said above, but if there was one thing to focus on, I would definitely welcome some colliders around so that I don't fall from the platform more often than I am comfortable admitting. :)

Chefs from the Dead by Linky439 2024-04-22T06:52:30Z

Interesting idea, and perfect length for a game jam! I am not sure if I can add anything else that hasn't been said before. Could be made mode hectic by having even more chefs at once!

Dungeon Summoner by magnusfurcifer 2024-04-15T17:35:02Z

I love the artstyle, it creates a very interesting mood, and feels very properly old school. I have to take a look at dithering myself, because I realy love it. :) I think assets like cards could use it too, so that it would all fit together more nicely, but that's no biggie. Maybe some head bobbing to, because when you walk through long straight hallways, it feels like you don't walk at all. Great to include the minimap too. Nice entry, loved it!

Replicate-You by loveapplegames 2024-04-27T08:00:11Z

Interesting concept, I haven't seen any game with neural network in LD yet! Other than what has already been said, I think that with some extra bit of work, you could make an interesting game out of this. I can imagine some game where you have to "cooperate" with your replica in order to finish the level and solve some more complex issues. Well done, interesting entry!

Skelly-Tons by Jajo 2024-04-22T07:20:52Z

Great controls, movement felt really fluid. Like above, I didn't quite understand precisely how the damage works (but I was able to kill enemies regardless). Some kickback to the enemies would make it more satisfying! Otherwise really nice entry!

Feed the Eggheads by candlesan 2024-04-15T17:24:45Z

Great take on the theme, great to see something other than magic! Very cute graphics, and Eggheads going on the elevator and moving feel very natural. Like others mentioned, it would be great to have fullscreen, I am on 1080p and it was barely fitting in the browser. But no biggie. Nice entry and interesting that you used Photoshop, I don't really have it associated with pixel art!

Clone Stacking by CrociDB 2024-04-16T20:46:38Z

This was a lot of fun to play! Puzzles were quite easy, but I think this is not necessarily a bad thing - I think this game has a perfect gameplay time for a jam. And I always like the mechanics where I can kill myself in order to progress, love it! Effects are very solid too and overall I really liked it. The only thing that confused me was A and B buttons, it was Z and X for me. :)

Thalatta's Grand Heist by Silas Reinagel 2024-04-16T21:37:46Z

Great settings for the story! I too would welcome more hints for my smooth brain. Otherwise this looks pretty great and I think that with some extra work, you could make a pretty interesting full game out of it!

Bail Out! by Historymaker118 2024-04-16T17:51:20Z

Great take on the theme, and the artstyle has a lot of personality. Pretty challenging game, but doable. Distracting cops by donuts is a great idea and reminded me of a similar kind of distraction in Postal 2. Sometimes they didn't seem to register donuts, but it's understandable when you have to punish this kind of crime. And sometimes the game was jittering for me, but it always got back into proper state rather quickly. I would love to live on the streets where you can collect this much, that would make the life easier!

The Last Summoner by atomicptr 2024-04-15T18:11:22Z

Cats are always the answer. I don't think I can add any extra feedback that hasn't been said already, but I had a lot of fun playing it and with the suggestions from Caz Creates Games above and with some extra work, you could have a really fun game on your hands. Well done!

Flockin' Demons by Bewelge 2024-04-15T18:06:08Z

That's pretty impressive in 10 hours and in just plain JS. I really, REALLY love the sounds and the atmosphere they create. Those are probably the best sounds and mood I have seen so far. Well done!

Tom Has Joined a Cult by LCStark 2024-05-01T17:07:45Z

Yes, I was able to do it and the cult will now take over the whole world! Very interesting take on the theme, I have to learn how to draw like this in Godot. And it's quite impressive to implement the drawing that also rotates together with the symbols!

2024-05-01_18-58-50.png

I understood controls very quickly, which is interesting, because many people didn't, and I am usually one of those people! All in all, I think this is a very good compo entry! After LD version could be made more interesting by introducing a better feedback when you finish the symbol and when you complete the level. There could be some ways how to perhaps introduce even more challenge, like with some enemies chasing you or something. :)

All in all, this is a great entry and I had a lot of fun, well done!

Speed Demons by Laniph 2024-04-16T17:32:38Z

This must be one of my favorite entires, so fun! But I always get slightly rekt at the end. That said, I don't think I was that bad. Even got into leaderboard, which is great and great that this game has it!

2024-04-16_19-30-20.png

I really like how the game looks and plays. The only thing is that enemies are a little bit unpredictable towards the end, but that's definitely something that can be polished probably quickly after the LD. Great game, loved it!

Claws and Conundrums by LocksmithArmy 2024-04-15T21:34:41Z

Great to have some mystery game in the mix too! Probably the best looking game so far, and it blows my mind that HTML5 game can look like this. Well done!

Sacrifice acolyte by Snory 2024-04-15T19:02:21Z

First of all, well handled logo and well handled tutorial, love it, haha! Pretty easy to figure out and not a bad work for after picking Unity after 4 months! I would welcome some indicator of which colors I should pick, having to guess kinda sucks (or it would be great to lose only one part of the progress), but nothing that couldn't be solved with the color powerup. Otherwise pretty fun game!

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-15T18:21:05Z

First of all, thank you **ALL** for playing and for your great feedback! I was working, but I am here now!

@candlesan true, the reticle would make it a little bit easier. There actually is one, but invisible, and the ship is shooting towards it. It's pretty far away though, so I would have to bring it closer, and I didn't have the brain capacity for that, but I agree. Thank you for the comment!

@atomicptr enemies have been summoned from the depth of cosmos, but... yeah, you're right, it's a stretch for sure, lol!

@magnusfurcifer yea, strafing tactics works the best. I agree with the crosshair, I can bring it later when the LD rating is over!

@freakyzelga you're too kind! We will all get there, and much better!

@impalpable glad you liked it and enjoyed the challenge!

@risminator glad you found the controls revarding in the end! 3D in Godot in 48 hours sounds more challenging than it is, but there have to be some corners cut for sure, and you have to be confident with Blender. But it's a great challenge and I can recommend it, it's my fourth game in 3D. I still have to get much better with vector math, because the way how some things are implemented is pretty disgusting, but that's what we do when we have only 48 hours, haha!

@bewelge thank you very much!

Rated all of your games back, thank you again!

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-15T21:17:24Z

Thank you for the comment, @dams333! It touches the summoning theme relatively lightly, premise is about those monsters/ships summoned by the cosmos, but otherwise yeah, it's a stretch. Rated your game back!

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-16T06:40:06Z

Thank you for playing, @snory! It's true that the music was a little bit arcad-y. I imagined some different one, but it never turns out that way. :) Rated your game already!

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-16T18:19:02Z

Thank you all for playing!

@pete-valeo oh yeah, particle effects would be great, that's a great suggestion! I was actually struggling a little bit the particle system, because I wanted to use it for explosions. I normally use Godot 4 where it works a little bit differently. I didn't want to spend too much time with figuring it out, so, explosions are just billboarded 3D sprites, ha! I will definitely have a closer look at the particle system beforehand. Or hope that they will improve HTML5 export down the line so that I don't have to use 3.5.

@laniph glad it envoked these feelings! My friend told me that it reminded him of Star Wars: X Wings from 1993, but I will be honest, Star Fox was a bigger inspiration to me.

@olenikimid & @fataljg glad you liked the music! I was relatively happy with it in the end, but I was originally planning much different one. Thankfully Nexus makes everything sound pretty good.

@the-neon-shark oh yeah, I was struggling a little bit with making them more reliable, but I felt that it was close enough lol. Have to get better at proper vectoring!

@historymaker118 those are great suggestions, especially with the depth of objects. I have to look more into some shading in the future, I usually do either flat 3D or pixel-art 3D, so, I never dealt with shading much. Noted the poor fit for the theme. I thought I was clever by having an excuse of enemies being summoned by cosmos, but clearly not, haha!

Thank you all for your amazing feedback. Played and rated all of your games back!

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-16T21:42:55Z

@frib now that's the intensity I am looking for. Finishing with 10 HP, that had to be an intense fight! Shields are quite useful for sure! I was able to beat the game without them, but that was pretty challenging, and required some blessings from RNG Gods, since pickups are chance based. :)

@cogcomp glad you liked the music, game and eventually got used to controls, they are slightly unusual, true.

@amerigo-gazaway thank you for your kind words! My friend tried to play it on trackpoint on his ThinkPad, and apparently it somehow works too, but I would definitely take the mouse, haha.

@gravityflip glad you liked the game! Technically, enemies are summoned by cosmos, but yeah, it's a stretch.

Thank you all very much for playing and for your feedback! Rated all of your games back too!

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-17T06:49:01Z

Thank you for playing, @themotleybrit! It is a stretch indeed. Rated your game back!

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-17T17:21:56Z

@piero-pbes-studio thank you for playing. That's understandable, we cannot like every genre. :) Glad you liked the graphics at least. Rated your game back!

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-17T19:03:58Z

Thank you for some tougher love, @denvil! Theme is a stretch for sure, but the monsters were summoned from cosmos, so, that's at least my excuse. That said, inertia is a fantastic idea, too bad it didn't occur to me, it wouldn't be even that hard to implement. Rated your game back!

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-18T19:04:19Z

Thank you for playing and feedback, @thomz12! True that maybe in this kind of game, some autoshooting would be a good idea. After the jam ended, I realised I could have implemented a "daredevil" idea like in Beat Hazard where it measures how long you don't shoot and the longer you don't, the more multiplied your score gets. But well, maybe next time. Thank you and rated your game back. :)

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-22T07:54:36Z

Thank you all for playing and sorry for answering a little late, I wasn't here for few days. :)

@linky439 awesome that you got all the way to the end! I am not planning on expanding this one, but I am working on my own game in my spare time, but it's still far from done nor presentable, so, I am focusing on that one for now. But I can see how with more levels and songs, this could be a full game!

@ellaris oh yeah, you're right that shooting would sometimes be inconsistent. I ran into it too, but I had no idea why, so, I have to check and figure out, true. When it comes to those enemies, then yea, sometimes colliders are slightly off, but I am not sure why. Like I said, those pesky vectors, gotta get better at those.

@thomaszane ah, true, mouse sensitivity option would be a really good idea. Will keep in mind for the next time.

@jajo yea, I will not forget to have it next time, it's really something that this game is missing!

@brainbetter yea, will add autofire the next time, and I ran into some inconsistencies too, but was not able to figure out quickly enough what was the cause, but it's surely annoying for sure.

Thank you all very much, rated your games back!

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-25T17:12:31Z

Thank you for playing, @thelastslowpoke and for the great feedback! I will make sure to include some better aiming the next time, it's definitely one of the bigger shortcomings here. :) And interesting song, I can hear some similar notes, but it wasn't my inspiration, I don't know this song nor listen to metal, but maybe I should start! Rated your game back :)

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-27T08:01:10Z

Hey @loveapplegames, thank you for playing! Yeah, vector maths hard, I would have to have a proper look at it after the LD rating period ends. And I ran into the irregular shooting issue, but I was not able to figure it out quickly enough. Thank you for the review, I rated your game back. :)

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-28T11:24:49Z

Thank you for playing, @happyglitch! Yeah, those are good suggestions, will keep in mind for the next time. Rated your game back!

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-05-01T17:15:01Z

Thank you both for playing!

You mean impossible to die, @aweskybear? Well, you must be the first one, haha. Shield should stay for 15 seconds, maybe it was just a lack of feedback that would communicate the shield countdown. Glad you liked other parts!

Thank you for a truly amazing feedback, @lcstark! And you're totally right with the _physics_process instead of _process, such a rookie mistake. aka when I'm not seing the forest for the trees! :face_palm: You're right with the shield feedback, that would definitely improve the game a lot! I would go with the crosshair. There technically is one, but it's hidden and too far away, so, that should be a quite easy fix after LD if I decide to look into this game. Glad you liked the song, I created it on the second day and that was definitely an anxiety filled forenoon, haha!

Rated both of your games back!

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-05-05T08:32:10Z

Thank you for playing, @myse! Yeah, it can get a little bit intense, but with some training, it's possible to rekt them back. Rated your game before, thankfully, since we're after rating period already. :)

💀 Soula Cola🥤 by the neon shark 2024-04-16T18:01:18Z

I really loved this one. Despite the simple graphics, it feels incredibly smooth. The camera zoom is incredible, the movement and the animations of the characters too, Soula Cola opening is amazing too. And I had a chocolate beer few months ago, but I'm not sure if The Reaper would enjoy it. Overall this was really fun and really satisfying to play, well done!

Summoner Training Simulator by Brainbetter 2024-04-22T07:33:36Z

Great humor and neatly executed. Music fits extremely well together. I would certainly welcome some further explanation with the stones, it was mostly a guessing game for my smooth brain. Some people mentioned having some issues on Macs (but still being able to play), which made me curious - it seems that you're using Godot 4. I thought that web exports don't work on Macs there at all, and that's why I use 3.5, so, I have to check that out, would be happy to move to 4.2 for jams too. :)

Summoner Training Simulator by Brainbetter 2024-04-23T18:19:47Z

Ah, @brainbetter, good to know! I tried it on my personal Mac and it hanged too, but I was like: "This machine works weirdly anyway," so, I dismissed it, haha. Thank you for the detailed info. Then I will rather keep sticking with 3.5 for the jams. I sure hope that web exports will be resolved and improved soon; Godot 4 has fantastic things in it and it's a bummer that HTML5 exportrs are plagued with this many issues.

Trial by Combat by Gravityflip 2024-04-16T21:22:19Z

Evil defeated!

2024-04-16_23-18-20.png

I would like to nitpick something, but I have nothing here. Everything is awesome. It looks, sounds and plays great! The humor must be the best I have seen so far and I like that Satan was the least evil of those three. I found all oponents pretty easy to beat, but it makes me feel like I'm delivering a real tough justice, which feels great. Awesome entry, one of my favorites for sure!

Grand Court Summons by Frib 2024-04-16T21:12:41Z

This is an extremely ambitious game for the compo, bravo! The car was a little bit too much to handle for me, I sure hope it's just the alcohol I had half an hour ago and I drive better in real life! From the player's perspective, I think it would be great to be able to enter the car from both sides. I like the old GTA feel, the radio and I like the textures, I think the city looks pretty good. With more love and work, I think this could be a pretty interesting game! Well done!

Alakazam Ghosties by Blueanoli 2024-04-15T19:16:58Z

Ghosts and zombies, now that's an interesting combination you don't see every day. It's pretty impressive to have this many levels, and all of them were fun to play. More variety of ghosts and enemies would make this even more fun, but even in the current state, this is very fun game, well done!

Familial Familiar by ellaris 2024-04-22T07:12:35Z

This is a great idea and it contains a surprising amount of different content and gameplay. I thought it would be just summoning game at that's it. I liked the last part a lot. And it even a customisation customisation of the character, that's nothing I have ever seen in a jam, I think! Well done!

Exorcist Pianist by Aviv Levy 2024-04-16T18:38:14Z

Amazing use of colors! It sets an amazingly depressing mood. Too bad I don't have my MIDI keyboard here, I would really enjoy playing that through it, never played any game on the MIDI keyboard. I think the enemies could have more variety. That said, I really loved this one. And I beat my inner demons, that doesn't happen that often!

2024-04-16_20-35-27.png

Reverse Rituals by freakyzelga 2024-04-15T17:40:56Z

Oh no, idle games, my only weakness! Thank you for not making it endless, I would be sitting here for hours, haha. Great idea, I wouldn't even guess that there would be a clicker/idle game (of sorts) for this theme. Nice flow, great artstyle and fun endings. I got Flabbergasted Flo! I wonder what she would think about hardstyle tho.

2024-04-15_19-38-13.png

Bugs VS Bugs by AweSkyBear 2024-05-01T16:52:23Z

Congratulations for having your first compo game! Interesting dev stack; I was wondering what this was created with when I saw that it was running on netlify. Not sure if I can say anything that hasn't been said above, but I love the zoom and how far away it can go, it feels really great. And it's great to hear that you will be working on this after LD, I think that with some extra love and UI that explains the game better, this could be a very interesting entry. Well done :)

Bugs VS Bugs by AweSkyBear 2024-05-01T17:16:46Z

@aweskybear I see! If you mean hot reload, then yeah, that's definitely something that saves a massive amount of time. I can only hope that it will find its way into Godot as well some day. :)

Bugs VS Bugs by AweSkyBear 2024-05-03T16:40:42Z

Ah thank you very much for this tip, @aweskybear, will check out and try later! That said, when it comes to Godot, I usually just build it locally. It takes just few seconds, I don't usually work on HTML5 builds directly, I just export it to HTML5 some time before the deadline and see if there aren't some issues. I am sure I will regret this one day, but so far, no trouble, unlike with Game Maker back in days. :)

Messiah OS by happyglitch 2024-04-28T11:24:13Z

Managed to boot the OS in the end, nice! Great atmosphere; everything works together really well in that regard. You had a very interesting vision. In case you decide to work on this after LD, then with some extra gameplay, this could be an interesting game!

Trouble in Emoji Plane by TheLastSlowpoke 2024-04-25T17:08:11Z

Now those are finally some simple controls! Using emojis is a very smart way how to get some art into the game, gotta say! I love how smoothly the projectiles move and found out a little bit of a trick - to mash numbers on both numerical side of the keyboard and upper side. Despite, I got rekt around, but it seems to be designed that way. Next time, I would include some sound effects and perhaps kickback effects when enemies are hit or so, would make it even more fun. That said, this was definitely engaging, so, well done! :)

2024-04-25_19-06-24.png

Demon Lord Revenge by Fataljg 2024-04-16T18:06:31Z

Great use of the theme and this was a lot of fun to play. Love me some bullet hell kind of game. And boi I would hate to accidentally get to this room while looking for glasses! I think making it slightly easier in first rounds would make it easier to get into, it was quite hard right from the beginning, but that's really nitpicking. Loved this one!

mouche(s)? by PieRo_PBeS_studio 2024-04-17T17:21:07Z

Great animations and effects, really feels great. I wish I would have someone that would kill the flies for me... Joking asides, I also think it would be a good idea to have an indicator where the book is. And maybe some temporary invincibility when you're sent back to the original position? In third level, I had a lot of trouble to even get to the book. That said, I spent quite some time with game and it was a lot of fun, so, I would say, well done!

Dungeon Internship by Dams333 2024-04-15T21:15:26Z

Amazing artstyle and the game feels very coherent. Any plans to work on it after release? Like everyone else, I found it quite challenging. With some better tutorials for smooth brains like myself and perhaps slower introduction of all different combinations, I think this could be a seriously fun game. Well done!

Moth Magic by Impalpable 2024-04-15T17:55:44Z

Great artstyle, I love Pico games! Polen effect is nice, but a little bit too much, like everyone else already said, so, I am not bringing anything new here. I think it would be great to describe how to play this game a little bit more in the description, because it took me way longer to figure out that I am willing to admit that you have to wait a little bit on the flower, but maybe it's leftover sleep deprivation from the weekend. :)

Duck Spawner by Myse 2024-04-15T21:27:47Z

Brings me flashbacks. If you changed the mouse cursor to a bag with food, then it would be just like in real life!

Summon Cats by tinyfinn 2024-04-15T21:24:57Z

Now THIS is an original take on this theme. Adorable nice little game! Your artstyle is gorgeous and it feels very pleasant to look at. And I see cats can be summoned just as easily as my bunny!

Akino's Dungeon by Risminator 2024-04-15T06:58:02Z

Very difficult indeed, you have to concentrate really hard. Maybe could be nice to have some lives for less fortunate as myself. That said, nice graphics and great music, it really makes the action going!

A Following Wind by digitaliliad 2024-04-15T18:48:17Z

This is an amazing entry for the first jam! I love the artstyle (and the wind, it looks amazing), it reminds me of 90s games and it looks really good. I love that the wind keeps going and can mess with other ships later. In order to make this game more challenging, I would perhaps try to spawn more and more ships eventually or speed them up. That said, awesome first entry, I bet it won't be the last one!

Heaven Divers by ThomasZane 2024-04-22T07:49:08Z

I was kinda confused at the beginning that I somehow missed that you're supposed to destroy the the green cube. Once I figured that out, then everything suddenly started making sense, haha! I need to get better at reading. Besides, I liked the animations and not sure if I have anything else to add that hasn't been said before. Nice entry!

2024-04-22_09-45-19.png

Summoning by TheMotleyBrit 2024-04-17T06:47:54Z

Nice little game. Enemis spawning in circles are slightly tricky, but I figured out my way through them and finished the game in the end. Love seeing Rust, I would never have enough courage to make a videogame in it, but it's fascinating language. :)

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Skrungle Rescue by dooskington 2024-10-07T19:54:47Z

Yes, I saved all Skrungles!

2024-10-07_21-49-47.png

Loved their tiny little legs! I like how well this artstyle hides the simple textures and models. It actually reminded me of a very old game where you flew RC planes in the house, but I cannot find it now. Had quite a lot of fun looking for Skrungles, but the last cage took me a while to find. I have to admit, during tall falls, I was worried about the tiny things. They handled it like champs though! I think that for this kind of game, it would be great to have sprint always on. Attack was quite inefficient, but I learned how to avoid cockroaches altogether, so, I figured it out. Well done, one of my favorite entries!

Colony Clash by stormburpee 2024-10-07T18:28:44Z

Beautiful art! Took me few tries to figured out how to stack cards, but once I did, it was quite fun! I love the sounds, it's obvious that they too were made by mouth, like in my case, haha. Well done, nice game!

Honey for the Winter by adjo 2024-10-07T18:52:47Z

Yay, I won, and it only took me few tries!

2024-10-07_20-47-34.png

There are so many small details I love! Like bees leaving and returning, returning and not flying when it's raining, month indicator, day/night indicator (which reminded me of my previous game) and so many other things. I enjoyed managing my beehive a lot and when I had my source secured, just wathcing bees leave, and then returning back! And felt "taxed" when the beekeeper took part of it!

The only bigger issue I encountered was that sometimes when I flied around the map, it slingshot me into one direction and I couldn't fight it back, which usually meant dying. Usually happened when I flew into one direction for multiple seconds. But I was able to work around it by flying slowly and holding keys only for a bit, so, no biggie. Great game, loved it!

Forest Tower Defense by shared 2024-10-11T04:15:11Z

Yay, I won!

2024-10-10_22-12-07.png

I would say very well implemented. Add few more enemies and more animals to defend the road with and I can imagine this being on the website with online games. More sounds would make wonders for this game. Other than that, well done!

Kokins by ladybenko 2024-10-07T18:40:00Z

This was an extremely adorable game! I love how the Pico-8 games look like, and in this case, it's extremely charming. Making my creature happy made me happy too, and I loved when it grew antennas (I assume). However, as historymaker118 above mentions, more types of minigames would be nicer, at least for different creatures. Very fun game still, definitely one of my favorites. :)

Bug Attack 2 by Gurbx 2024-10-13T18:33:51Z

Nice artstyle! Looks very pretty. Shooting feels impactful and the gameplay is fun. Creative levels and the use of new creatures. However, I was unable to beat the level with 6 flowers. Music would be good, but I understand that there was probably not a time for it. But all in all, very nicely polished and a lot of fun, which is super important. If you worked on this after the jam, I think you could have a very good and fun game. Well done!

Fish Rescue by CrociDB 2024-10-07T15:45:41Z

Those are some amazing effects you got here. Love the physics and movement; everything feels so "punchy" and with some great weight into it. Didn't run into any bugs, and gameplay is extremely solid. Well done!

Tinyzilla by Bernhard 2024-10-21T15:51:22Z

Very fun to play, I love how Tinies move! Tried the game twice and tried to follow the advice, but I always got rekt in the third round. But maybe it's just a skill issue on my side, as I see some people were able to win. :) I love the sounds and the grass has a nice cosy feeling for some reason, nice entry!

Flea Patrol by Sviborg 2024-10-07T16:01:39Z

Now that's an interesting mental image in my head when I try to imagine this in the real life, haha! Very fun to watch fleas to have delayed responses somewhat and acting like a hive. Felt very organic and levels were fun to go through. When you feel in a darker mood, you can make a sequel from the middle ages. One of the best games I played so far for sure. :)

Shrimptopia by Instafluff 2024-10-07T15:46:53Z

Adorable artstyle. Great way how to participate with a limited time. I think you could have a nice idle game if you spent more time on this, introduced more creatures and gave them more things to do. :)

Mouse Mouse by AploveStudio 2024-10-08T15:53:06Z

I laughed so hard. Great graphics, but I mean, seriously — apart from the obvious, the artstyle is very cohesive and colors are well chosen. Music and sounds are great! It took me a while to adjust to the movement, which felt kinda tricky at the beginning, but then it clicked and I was able to move really well. Thankfully getting hurt didn't mean the game over — good idea with that! For some reason, running out of time didn't trigger the end screen for me. But at least thanks to that, I was able to collect the milk jug ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). Missed the opportunity to call attic "atthic." Great game, keep this going! Stupid sexy mice...

Save Nebuville by Blue Pin Studio 2024-10-08T06:41:20Z

Yay, I saved the Nebuville!

I really loved this one. Reminded me of flash tower defense games I played when I was a kid. And this even had similar graphics like back then! Shooting felt great and the waves of enemies challenging just enough, even though I managed to let only one creature in, so, maybe it could be slightly harder. On the other hand, I hate getting my city damaged, so, I'm OK with this. Well done!

Adorable pixel art and it's true that it's October, which means Halloween, love it! I find the fact that this represents ADHD fascinating and I can see what you meant by that. Pets are awesome, though my bunny can attest that bunnies are not that slow, but sure can be stubborn. Well done :)

@mmph great points, especially with lighting - yours is on point and much more atmospherical. I have to learn to work with lights better.

@stormburpee phew, glad you didn't mind and had a great experience!

@ladybenko glad you liked the music, I spent only a relatively little time with it, but thankfully melody didn't take long, and instruments were just some basic Sylenth presets.

@adjo glad you liked my frogs, it's true that you cannot really examine them closely, haha. Will keep the tilting in mind, most of my friends liked it, but I can see both sides. Good candidate for toggling on/off in settings if I decide to continue forward with this game!

Played and rated all of your games back. :)

@dooskington glad you liked the music. Good point with shotgun being slightly slow, I could have thought about it. I focued way too much on spread. Tilt could have been smaller, good point. Thank you very much for gerat feedback! Rated your game back!

@ngryyyyy glad you liked the music and had fun playing! I see you don't have any game, but if you do, please tag me and I will play it.

@mmm1008fm reloading would indeed be nice, but I was worried about it taking way too much time, plus it requires splitting models into more pieces. But were this not a jam game, I would definitely consider it. Maybe in the future? Also I see that you're fixing the game, so, I will check it and rate it when ready. :)

@custodi very original, that would probably save you, because I didn't implement dying if you get out of arena... but I kept it in my mind, I just forgot! Rated your game back. :)

@bad-fetus true, I tried some balancing with different damage dealt and of course different speed, but it's true that last two guns are OP compared to the previous ones. I got spider stuck on my head few times, but didn't have enough time to resolve it. Seems that it happens if you stand close to spawner and it just spawns on your head. That can ruin the day. And I see I already rated your game. :)

Thank you for the great feedback, @milq! Great to hear that Linux build works, that's a big surprise to me, honestly, haha. You're definitely right about the shotgun — in Doom, it's literally a blast. I am very likely to continue working on this game in the future and make something bigger out of it, so, I will definitely improve this part. If you're at least somewhat comfortable with 3D, I can absolutely recommend making 3D game for Compo; it's a great experience and challenge. You should at least know the basics of 3D modeling, UV mapping and texturing, and a bit about 3D vectors and how they work. Though basics are fine, I still find things I don't know about all the time. Took me a while to even figure out how to make creature look at you properly and move towards you correctly. If you prepare yourself well, it's completely doable, and a lot of fun. I dared to go into 3D in Ludum Dare 52 and while sometimes you run into issues you wouldn't run in a 2D game, you don't really go back. Thank you again, and I already played and rated your game!

Glad you liked the game, @kirass, rated yours back. :)

@gurbx that's true, more enemies would be cool! There are more enemy models in the game project, but I was not able to make them work as I would like to until the deadline, so, I kept only these. Played & rated your game back!

@artallester glad you liked the movement! And I see I already rated your game. :)

Dreadzone by DzejPi 2024-10-14T06:02:37Z

Thank you for a great comment, @adrien-tremblay! Glad to be an inspiration; yeah, with this artstyle, you can cut many corners (literally), which is important when you have so little time. SoBlend file is in the project - you can find it in `/assets/obj/blend_dreadzone_objects.blend`. Another dirty trick I did was to just use one material for everything; if you don't care about lightning and different model properties, you can do it like me and put everything in one 256x256 texture and use it for everything. Or, it is always possible to use flat 3D sprites for the 2.5D look, but it's tricky to pull it of so that it looks really good. Played & rated your game back, loved it!

Dreadzone by DzejPi 2024-10-14T16:06:59Z

@adrien-tremblay good question! I like to be as open as possible during Compo, so, I always include everything, including project files from other programs. I want to share everything I created for the jam, and if having project files helps anyone, then even better. There is even an Ableton project with music. :) But you're right — I indeed exported every object as its separate file (in `creatures_obj`, `guns_obj` and `world_obj` folders). When I work on my personal private projects, I keep the Blend file somewhere else as it can get big, and even turning the camera is considered a change, so, it can get very git unfriendly. But it's fine for a jam. However, I think that you can actually configure Godot to be able to import Blend files directly into it and it can load all objects in it. And this also means that changes in Blend file are autorefreshed in Godot, but I actually haven't tried that out yet and it sounds kinda unsafe for me. But maybe it could make sense in some cases.

Hey @henk, thank you for playing and leaving such a great feedback! Yes, it's designed to overwhelm you eventually, there is no way to win. You're absolutely right with sprint — I am working on this game in my spare time (with hope of turning it into a full game eventually) and yes, you're definitely right, I already made the sprint default. Good catch with the creature speed, it is indeed not reset properly after the game over, oops! But their speed should readjust properly after one minute of playing, so, I guess if you survive the first frantic minute, then it should go back to normal. Ah those global variables, they always cause some trouble, yet I don't stop using them. Played & rated your game back. :)

Dreadzone by DzejPi 2024-10-21T15:57:03Z

Thank you for playing, @bernhard and good catch! Thankfully you're the first person who noticed, haha. Guess it thankfully keeps everyone moving. It happens with all guns, I think. I noticed it myself few days ago. You don't shoot unless you're in the motion or moving with camera. Will keep in mind to not use `_input` for this action the next time. I remember I had some similar issue like that in my previous game too, I guess I never learn. Played and rated your game back. :)

Dreadzone by DzejPi 2024-10-23T20:33:25Z

Thank you for an amazing feedback, @thelastslowpoke! Yea, out of those games mentioned, it's definitely the best one; especially Natura wasn't very good. You're right with two spots in the gameplay where nothing happens, I was way too busy resolving other stuff and then didn't have enough time to finetune it. Thankfully it's just a silence before the storm!

Export problems definitely taught me a valuable lesson, because I never had export issues with Godot before, but I will still stick with 4.3. Just for the next time, I will keep in mind to use proper compression for textures, and make sure there are not hundreds of nodes in the scene, haha! Mouse sensitivity is definitely a must have in a full feature game, if it ever comes to that, so, I am definitely taking notes. Thank you again, played and rated your game back!

Dreadzone by DzejPi 2024-10-24T20:41:20Z

@thelastslowpoke yeah, once you get a hang of 4, it's really good! Main challenge with 3D is that you have to understand vectors a bit, but once you do, it's not that much more difficult. I didn't try Unity much; I played around with it a bit, but never really deeply. I used to use Game Maker, but I ran into its limitations pretty quickly, which made me go to Godot. And once I did, I never looked back. I like that it has both native 2D and 3D, which is a big plus. And like you mentioned, once you get a hang of how to structure everything in it, it's great! I am from Czech republic and live in Hradec Králové, which seems to be around 600 km from Gdańsk, so, it's a question whether that's close (relatively) or not.

@whatiswhat thank you for playing! Glad you liked graphics and music, really keeps me motivated to work on this further! Rated your game back!

Nice, I won! Or... did I? A true horror story here unmatched by no other horror games.

2024-10-07_22-04-18.png

I have to agree with hangovergames — I would reduce the speed after collision a bit lower. Otherwise once you get flowing (ha), it's quite fun. Visuals are simple, but they work, and make me wonder... what kind of viruses are there?

Planet Worm by Knipsch 2024-10-07T16:33:19Z

Beautiful choice of colors and artstyle in general! Looks very cosy and warm. And plays well. Would be great to grab the cursor properly, but that's no biggie. I hope I was a decent worm.

Niblo and Mubbit by milq 2024-10-07T18:23:11Z

Nice entry, I found this to be a lot of fun. I enjoyed the gameplay, but the wind felt a tiny bit too strong, which was slightly frustrating, but didn't keep me from finishing the game. What a twist at the end!

Carnivorous Corpse Aquarium : Feed & Thrive by Adrien Tremblay 2024-10-14T05:56:15Z

Now this is what I call an original and morbid idea, love it! Artstyle is very cohesive and makes for a great atmosphere. I bet this is how Horzine started. I love shadows on the creatures - they look really great! Music is nicely grim, UI is cohesive, responsive, and it all just works so well together! I think that with some extra work, you could make something really, really good out of it; I would gladly buy it on Steam. I would place creatures on more spots on the body, you could add some animation for plants and creatures, add more of them, differentiate corpses, and... sky is the limit! Loved this one, definitely one of my favorite entries!

Slimeow Game by Quan Ran 2024-10-08T06:56:43Z

One of my favorites! Really love the whole retro aesthetic going on here, animations while tiny, feel so alive and impactful, nice sounds, good music, and I loved about everything about it. Though it felt extremely slow, I kept it running for a while and it seemed to not get that much more difficult. Perfect for keeping this on and just switching to it once in a while. :)

Roll to Attack by AStrayRae 2024-10-11T15:46:34Z

Very interesting concept and I played it for a while, which says something, because I am usually not into these kinds of games! I would personally prefer if I could grab the dice by holding the mouse right away without clicking on it first, would feel more natural for me. Took me a bit to figure out that I had to hit the enemies (and who is enemy, haha), but then it made a lot of sense! With some extra work, I think this could be a really good one, glad to see that you're going to be working on this afterwards!

Amazing visuals! I wondered whether there would be any end or whether it's generated, but there is an end indeed! Would be cool if I could do more things, but audiovisually, this is a total treat!

the Last Leukocyte by bad_fetus 2024-10-07T16:21:36Z

Nice take on the theme! I would welcome some extra effects for hitting enemies; at the beginning, I thought I had to hug the enemies and only then I figured out that I am auto-shooting. I wanted to complain a bit about me sucking, but I gave it another try (which is a job well done with the game) and managed to hit some semi-decent score, ha!

Laverino by Kirass 2024-10-08T18:59:25Z

Very interesting entry with creepy atmosphere. When I noticed the creature behind the window, I got quite scared! Minigames are pretty fun and the game has a perfect length - I was able to finish in 3:50. I would improve the grabbing mechanic - quite often I was struggling a bit sometimes to interact with the objects. Otherwise very good job for such a limited amount of time, loved it!

Pseudopseudopodia, or amoeba walking simulator by TheLastSlowpoke 2024-10-23T20:26:30Z

Love these kinds of experiments. I would really love to read a little bit about how procedural animations and graphics here work, because it looks really good. Movements feel great and natural too. I was able to eat the other amoeba, so, I won in this race of survival! Cool demo and a proof of concept, I think you could do something interesting with this. :)

Howard and the Ants by henk 2024-10-20T11:05:43Z

This is much deeper than it looks at the first glance! Great to see the destructible terrain; you don't see that in many jam games! Once I figured out that I was just sent to the beginning, I started having fun discovering and I was able to finish the game too, yay!

Snímek obrazovky 2024-10-20 124950.png

The only thing that bothered me were the ants — it would be significantly better if they moved continuously instead of jumping around; it makes them quite unpredictable. And I would perhaps not send the player above after one hit, but maybe after two or three. Otherwise really good entry, I spent quite a lot of time playing it in order to uncover the whole map. Well done on this engagement part, not many jam games can pull that off!

City In My Sleeve by whatiswhat 2024-10-24T20:32:54Z

Interesting concept, took me a while to get hang of it, but once I did, it was pretty fun! Not sure if it's intended, but I think green Fellas blend with the background a little bit too much. I ran out of Fellas when I had a score of 83, but the game unfortunately bugged out and enemies couldn't hurt me, so, unfortunately, I didn't get to the leaderboards. Otherwise nice entry, good job!

Tiny Trails by Custodi 2024-10-08T06:22:11Z

Managed to finish the game! Definitely interesting mechanics. They sometimes overlap, but that's the point, isn't it? I would add some extra UI that can let you restart more easily for cases where you accidentally kill enough creatures that you're unable to continue, but that's no biggie!

Inverspeculum by vector3cat 2024-10-23T17:06:51Z

Beautiful artstyle; it looks lovely! Love trees and the background! Great concept which I don't think I've seen in this jam yet and I bet that was tricky to implement in this short amount of time.

Otherwise the game is tough as nails, and it took me embarrassingly long to figure out how to get over the first gap, haha. Not sure if there's anything I could add which wasn't said above, but what I miss the most are checkpoints. Plus it's a good idea to make enemy hitboxes slightly smaller than the enemies themselves - it would feel more fair and fun to play.

Otherwise very good entry, loved it! Keep it up!

WE LOVE THE BOYS! by Brain Siege Gameworks 2024-10-08T16:12:39Z

So this is how you get rid of the crime, nice! Took me a while to figure out, but once I did, this was quite fun. And interesting switch to the music when you're becoming a boy too. Rough around the edges with good feedback above, but I would say very good for the first jam entry! Keep it going!

RATSTALKER by mmph 2024-10-07T15:18:29Z

Wonderfully creepy writing and amazing atmosphere. I too had some issues with navigation, but when I started being frustrated, I resolved this problem by triggering the same letter multiple times. Maybe I wouldn't assign them a specific order, because I found first one, and then fourth one, so, it's easy to miss the correct order of them. I would also put a gun slightly lower, but otherwise, this is a really amazing atmospherical entry and well done with that, textures, lighting and audio is just wonderful!

Tiny Terrors by ArtAllester 2024-10-09T16:03:27Z

You were right about the audio, it's quite loud! Otherwise graphics are great, and the gameplay too. I had a lot of fun and this offers a lot of replayability, which is quite rare with jam games, so, well done! And I really have to buy and play Vampire Survivors. :)

tiny_sim by crcdng 2024-10-17T19:38:38Z

Interesting stack, you don't see Flutter often, I still have nightmares about working with it occasionally. Joking asides — interesting game which reminded me of Game of Life a bit. But I have to agree with most of the people — rules are quite hard to understand. And I too was moved randomly few times, which I was not sure whether it was bug or not. And then I died seemingly out of nowhere, because there was nothing around me. But avoiding the red squares was fun. If you plan to work on this further, then I would definitely try to introduce the rules slowly, so, that everyone gets them well. Otherwise very original entry, it's great to experiment a bit!

Echoes of the deep by BadPinkChicken 2025-04-07T15:06:57Z

Amazing atmosphere here, really good sounds and effects! I zoomed out with no issues, but it makes me realise I should probably upgrade my 1080p monitor. I think the atmosphere could be significantly improved if you managed to make the whole page where the game is embed also dark, that would send it to another level! Otherwise I think some extra explaining would do this game a service, I was slightly confused from the beginning. But once you get into it, it's pretty fun! I think that there is a bug that when you're moving while the upgrade window pops up, you keep moving on your own (even with no key pressed), until the inevitable crash, perhaps upgrade window should reset the movement temporarily to 0. Otherwise definitely my favorite atmosphere so far.

When it Sinks by jeremyfa 2025-04-09T16:38:39Z

I absolutely loved this, I love games that explore the more unpleasant things in our lives. And it is very obvious that it was very personal for you. What you have accomplished just with one circle, triangle, and dialogs is incredible. Let me know if you ever have a full version, because I would definitely love to play it. Too bad (but completely understandable) you didn't have time to add some simple sounds, I think that would elevate it to another level. But besides that, this is awesome!

Depth of Field by Gao Ming 2025-04-08T18:30:37Z

I remember seeing this game when scrolling through posts, so, I'm glad I found it. Incredibly adorable style, I am in love! Great effect and the UI. And so far, one of the most original take on the theme I've seen as well. I found the sound of focus a little annoying after a while, but that's no biggie. All in all, this is definitely in my personal top 5 so far, really incredibly well executed!

Slinky Catch by Papaver 2025-04-22T05:49:12Z

I would say very well done game, which is super easy to pick up and offers a well balanced difficulty. I only found the level 5 quite tricky, otherwise I didn't really have any problems. Artsyle is quite simple, but gets the work done. Not sure if coincidence, but level 3 seemed to me like a dog and some person with a very nice... backside, haha! This made me realise that for some reason, I don't think I've seen that many Godot physics based games, strange! Nice music as well, it also reminded me of Yoshi. All in all, very nice jam entry, I hope you get enough ratings, this game definiely deserves them.

The Chase Beneath by Alvaron 2025-04-10T17:17:35Z

Very scary atmosphere, well done there! And pretty effective jump scares! I also found corridors a little bit too long, and items very hard to find. Thankfully I found a little exploit - if you start precisely at the edge and look a certain way, you move much quicker, so, that made it easier. Otherwise very cool entry, enjoyed this one, with a little bit more work, it's a really nice short horror game!

Drill-Off by Antti Haavikko 2025-04-10T21:00:01Z

Incredibly polished game, especially for a game made only in 48 hours. You obviously have a lot of experience and it definitely shows! Animations feel super snappy, alive and are beautiful to just look at. UI is nicely responsive with some weight into it. Your artstyle is awesome - it reminds me of older flash games, and it's a nice break from all low poly/pixel art games... which I should also stop doing. Very original tetris-like gameplay; mixing colors is a really good idea and surprised me when I saw it, I just expected new blocks overlapping old ones right away. Though since the grid here is quite small, it kinda felt like I was at the mergy of RNG gods, and upgrades could be more varied. However, I am not the first person saying that, and I see you're already planning to make a full version of this with more variety, so, I can't wait to see that! It's also great to have a leaderboard - not many jam games have that. Hopefully I will contribute to it more tomorrow when I am more fresh, because clearly, I am not a good player, at least yet. Otherwise, apart from that, we can nitpick unimportant stuff if we want, but the fact is that you have extremely polished, fun and professional game here, and I would be quite surprised if this didn't win top something. And you have earned another follower on itch.io

Selective Drilling by Xwilarg 2025-04-08T05:40:22Z

Not sure if I can say anything new what hasn't been said above, so, I will just say that I enjoy the premise that I don't need to worry about dying. Makes me take more risky approach (and it is also good, since it's easy to die very quickly). Fun to play though, well done!

LD57 - Slappy's Reef by Scott R Howell 2025-04-08T18:04:09Z

Very fun to play! Diving and jumping are very satisfying. I would say that overall, the movement is just super well made, so, great job there! When reading through comments, I am glad that I wasn't the only one who wanted to visit the platform in the background. No such luck! The wall limit looks great! My browser kinda struggled with this game a little bit, especially during the first jump, then then it got back on track and ran alright, except for some slight audio tearing. All in all, I would say great job with this one!

Deep Delve by P1x3lc0w 2025-04-07T14:54:45Z

Well crafted retro platformer. In my delirious state, I expected some ending, but then I figured out levels just repeated eventually. I noticed it earlier, but I thought it was a bug, then it got quite obvious that it was a feature instead! I think speeding up the movement a bit would make it even more fun. I think I would prefer upgrade window to be its separate closeable popup that would pause the game instead of displaying like this while the game is still running, but it gets the job done! Overall, very solid entry. Add more weapons, levels, enemies, some story, and you have a nice full feature game here.

DeepFrame 9 by JavaSaurus 2025-04-07T15:14:23Z

Super satisfying game and amazing music! Particle effects are awesome, and good to limit the gameplay by design; ideal for jam! And I also agree that visuals kinda felt "opposite," but that's no biggie, doesn't take long to adjust to it. Awesome entry, one of my favorites!

Unbound by LCStark 2025-04-09T17:18:01Z

Nice one, quite easy to pick and play, which is not always the case with jam games, so, well done there! Movement felt quite satisfying and indeed space-y, so, I liked that. And the fact that you get back to the station kept me more engaged, actually! It feels like maybe collector could be on all the time, but that is just a little suggestion. All in all, nice little game and indeed, bugless, which most of the games can only dream of.

DEPTH OF FIELD by chiyeon 2025-04-09T16:29:28Z

Awesome idea, which makes me appreciate the autofocus we have nowadays. Though there is a charm in focusing pictures manually! This is incredibly gorgeous looking game, especially for Godot. Those 3D models reminded me of like 2016 when I was all over this low-poly style, so, I absolutely loved this! And it's a very clever way how to get a lot done in short amount of time. The only thing I would welcome is the confirmation dialog asking you whether you want to go back to the main menu when you press Esc, but no biggie. Great entry, one of my favorites!

Hole Punch by Michael Parrish 2025-04-08T06:31:01Z

Haha, good one, I like typing games. The dash into the ground is very fun and satisfying to look at. This is one of those games where the leaderboards would be really awesome, so that we can compare our scores. I managed to get 48 meters deep, though definitely with a bit of luck!

Thanks for the rating, @sarellano! You have a good point with tutorial hint for replenishing oxygen. I guess once you spend day and half implementing game this feature in it very early, you forget easily. :confounded: When it comes to controls, then I can see your point. I originally used Ctrl as a key for descending, which feels more natural than Q or C, but I had to change it, because it was very easy to accidentally do Ctrl + W in browser and close the tab. Oh the sacrifices we have to make.

@youcarryoats oh no, that's a good point I never considered. Shame on me. Double shame, actually, because I am left handed myself  . But as you can see, I use the typical layout of mouse in the right hand and WASD by left hand. I can't change the game now due to it going against Compo rules, but for the next time - what would work the best for you? I assume keyboard arrows for the movement? What keys would be best suited for going up/down, and confirming? I am all ears and I can make sure my next game is left handed friendly!

@atsh yeah, upgrade system is definitely not that well balanced, but I didn't want to keep the player waiting for too long before winning. Though if this turned into a full feature game, it would need a massive upgrade overhaul for sure.

Thank you ALL for playing and for the feedback!

@xwilarg glad you liked the water movement, took me a little bit to figure out the shader. At least I know what the calculus in university was good for. And glad you liked the duration, I didn't want the game to be too long.

@sayeg I'm super glad to hear that!

@helagos glad you liked the atmosphere and graphics!

@oxnh yeah, I am aware of this bug, but not actually quite sure how to fix it. I thought it was caused by some rogue collisons, but when I ran the game in debug, I couldn't see anything. And strangely, it didn't happen in debug mode, which makes it even more challenging, haha. I agree that music would increase the vibe, unfortunately, didn't have much time nor energy for it; maybe next time!

@onngd it's true that it kinda looks like PS1. With a little bit more finetuning, it could look very similar. And I will try to make figuring out the gameplay easier for the next time, it's true that it could be described better.

Thank you all again, and of course, as always, rated all of your games back!

Thank you all for comments!

@liquid you're definitely right with adding some incentive to explore. I originally planned to have some specific plants that would generate oxygen, that would give you a reason to explore and risk more, but never got to it. And I definitely need to play Subnautica, it's been installed on my computer for a while, but I have never found a time for it, I guess the time is now!

@scott-r-howell nice, congratulations! I wanted to have some easter egg, so, this makes me super happy that you found it! If I had some price to give out, you would get it.

@mcramon thank you for the feedback! Yeah, it feels like there is some potential indeed, but 48 hours limit left a lot to be desired.

Thank you both for reviews a playing!

@juliocezar that's super nice to hear! And I think your time is actually very impressive, because I don't think I have been able to win quicker than that, you have a natural talent. And I see I already rated your game!

@swooty thank you for extremely deep and thorough feedback, I really appreciate that! Indication of plants being done with growing would definitely send this to another level, I should have thought about it. Or more like, it came to my mind couple of times, but I never wrote it down, and I completely forgot about it afterwards. Good point with better hitboxes, I'm usually trying to avoid using square ones unless they make sense, but I completely forgot here, plus I was so used to swimming that I didn't even hit them that much, so, it never bothered me to be like: "I must fix this," haha.

Balancing was quite challenging indeed, my top priority was making player able to win relatively quickly, since no-one wants to spend too much time on jam games, but you're absolutely right that there's not much of a reason to buy the last profit upgrade over just winning for at that point in game, couple of extra seconds of waiting. Also, did your game hard crash, or did everything just disappear? It didn't crash on me, but I know about the disappearing issue. I assumed it happens due to way too many nodes present, and in this case, it would happen way too late into the game. It happened to me with like 130 plants, which I didn't think anyone would be willing to do. However, I had the same disappearance issue in my previous game, which I managed to tackle in the end, but, I'm really wondering whether I'm not hitting Godot (at least current) limits and whether Unity wouldn't be worth a try.

It's making me really happy saying that you would be glad to buy a copy if I turned this into full feature game. I indeed think that with many more things to do and some base building, this could be quite good. I very often want to continue on my games after LD, but I never keep up. I really need to break this and finally turn some game into a full feature one. I think this one could be quite fun, especially since I very much enjoy games where you can chill and perhaps even listen to podcast/watch videos when playing, but I would need to untangle the absolute mess that is the code under the computer screen. Or maybe even look into Unity. Rated your game back!

Thank you all for ratings, that is so much feedback!

@chiyeon great suggestions! I thought about giving the player ability to remove plants, but ultimately decided that it's fine to miss for a jam game. However, if I decide to take this further, I will definitely include that. And yeah, pot upgrades weren't communicated that well.

@jeremyfa glad to hear that! I keep seeing so many comments about the full feature game that it is very tempting.

@nimbushead yeah, fertilizer or something like that could make this more interesting. I wanted to give some incentives for player to leave the base and explore, but didn't have enough time, unfortunately.

@chuckiee yeah, you're right, there is a whole terrain like this, which I generated in TerreSculptor, but unfortunately, it's barren and unusued, ah the plans I always have and never have time for.

2025-04-09_18-00-43.png

@lcstark it's true that controls are floaty. Good observation with the picking sound still being played, I absolutely missed that. And since you're another person telling me to play Subnautica, then I sure will soon. And yes, there is always some duck watching, so, watch out!

Thank you all so much and I rated all of your games back!

Rooted Deep by DzejPi 2025-04-10T21:22:05Z

Thank you for extremely detailed and valuable feedback, @antti-haavikko!

Yeah, upgrades were definitely quite unbalanced - there's not really a practical reason to buy the last bunch of upgrades when you can just wait a bit more and just win. Though in this specific case, I just wanted people to win relatively quickly, since I have a soft rule that my game shouldn't take more than couple of minutes, so, I didn't want to make winning way too expensive. But yeah, in full game, it would be more expensive — or probably not there at all.

Glad you liked the sounds! I bought a new microphone before this, since I used to record things on my phone, but it sure doesn't feel like I utilised it much, haha. Music was planned, but I had to drop it, unfortunately. I hit such a hard wall in later Sunday hours that I felt like I couldn't even press a single extra button. So, I just decided to run with some background ambience, which is actually just me with my hands over my mouth and making those sounds. Science!

Regarding focus — I think that if you press Esc twice when pausing, and then click on Continue (instead of pressing Esc again) to continue, it should grab the focus properly again, but it's a bad experience for sure, I really need to fix that already, it's been in all of my 3D jam games so far, and I haven't gotten into fixing it still.

Creating some plant with fruits growing high is amazing idea, that would definitely utilise swimming upwards much more. Maybe next time, or in a full game! I'm just glad noone tried to swim upwards completely out of the game, I don't even want to know what are the possibilities there. :see_no_evil:

You got it right with planning better UI and then scraping that, so yeah, single sell is quite pointless indeed. And when we talk about it - maybe I should have made "Sell literally everything" button or have autosell upgrade somewhere, because there's not really a point in saving any fruits anyway. Though I can imagine some mechanics in a potential full game what would give you a reason to only sell X amount and keep some Y amount for something else.

Thank you for praising my grammar. I'm not a native speaker, which I think makes us actually less prone to getting these things wrong, so, at least something! But I am sure that since I just said this now, I will soon write something horribly wrong somewhere.

Thank you SO MUCH for the feedback. It really means a lot, especially from a very experienced developer like yourself.

@papaver thank you for the feedback! Yeah, I overlooked the picking fruit sound, and it's quite nice that you spend 15 minutes playing it, didn't expect anyone to play for that long. Kinda surprises me that it's possible to win in 6 minutes with no upgrades, I definitely didn't balance something there. Rated your game back!

Thank you for a very detailed feedback, @thelastslowpoke! No need to apologize; life taught me very well that health is the most important thing to focus on, because we only have one. I hope you're doing better now! I know pretty well how damaging the lack of good sleep is as I too had a life period of constant tiredness, and it didn't do any good for me. So, I hope your heart and your sleep are both in good shape now.

Glad you liked the vibes and went for the relaxing way. The amount of people who just enjoyed relaxing experience makes me very happy and I am quite sure that I will continue working on this game afterwards. I am always thinking about that after LD, but I think this one is a really nice opportunity, and nice mix of things that don't make next development too challenging.

I really gotta figure that launching bug out, though. It didn't usually launch me very far away, but you're not the only one who mentioned that they were launched very far, and it's super annoying to have in the first place. And mouse sensitivity for sure, I learned the hard way here, as it's mentioned very often. And balancing, yea, that's gonna be even tougher challenge.

Thank you very much, rated your game back!

Thank you for playing, @mod-wiz! Unfortunately, couldn't get back to your game soon enough (as I warned in the message above), but thankfully, you had enough voted already; I would feel very bad if some game didn't get through because of me.

You're right with upgrades, not like they were optimised super well. If I decide to work on this full time, they will have to be reworked heavily for sure. Played and commented on your game.

VoidQuest by koalabear 2025-04-24T18:09:29Z

I actually quite liked the controls here. Though I think reversing could be a little quicker. Took me a little bit to figure out that the light shows me where should I go for the clock, so, first couple of plays, I was just collecting stuff and then ran out of energy. But in the retrospective, it's kinda obvious hint, though never hurts to communicate it better for smooth (or tired) brains. Music is pretty good too! All in all, quite a nice entry, but I would focus a little bit more on explaining mechanics so that players can get into the game right away.

Helldriver 2 by oxnh 2025-04-07T18:29:56Z

Simple, but very fun! Though devilishly difficult - I think some temporary invincibility would improve this a bit. But it's true that delivery to Satan cannot be a piece of cake.

The Amberstone by Chuckiee 2025-04-09T17:01:08Z

Nice atmosphere, and kinda amusing to see that you used this tutorial for inspiration, because I am sure I used it in the past as well; great minds think alike! I also wonder whose face is on the totem. I found the platforming quite challenging and frustrating, some checkpoints would be cool. It would be also super useful to skip the dialog after restarting. I unfortunately also encountered a bug that when I restarted, I couldn't pick objects anymore, so, I had to quit the game and start over. But otherwise, visuals are quite interesting and feel properly oldschool, and the main character reminded me of bowling balls from those old creepy bowling ball animations, could be an interesting idea to integrate.

Deep Mine by nimbushead 2025-04-09T16:46:08Z

Quite a simple game, but I see you had a lot of fun with voice lines! Question is - what is the amount when the pocket change stops being a pocket change?

Down Under by TheLastSlowpoke 2025-04-23T06:35:35Z

Kangaroo mommies have a tough life, gotta say. Very amusing entry that's super easy to pick up and play, well done! I lucked out and the way down was quite a smooth ride. It took me a little bit to find the little one at the complete bottom, because I took few wrong turns down there, but definitely not for too long or anything. My trophy:

2025-04-23_07-44-02.png

At the beginning, I was a little bit worried whether I could go through the hand that's already in place, but thankfully wasn't a problem. Bringing them back was very amusing to watch, and in general, this was amusing all the way. Perfect jam entry - easy to pick up, not too long, very funny, love it!

I understand the struggle with music and sounds, maybe musical is really a way to go!

St.Amsel by Liquid 2025-04-08T17:51:02Z

Absolutely gorgeous artstyle you got there, it looks simply wonderful! Great writing and atmosphere as well. The only tiny thing I noticed was that you can click on the empty spaces in the dialog and it will highlight the space, but that's really nothing. I almost got stuck in shed, but managed to unstuck myself. Otherwise I had a lot of fun with this one. One of the most polished entries for sure, loved it!

Yellow-But-Legally-Distinct Submarine by ThisIsSpy 2025-04-08T19:06:07Z

This is hysterical. It's kinda too bad that the submarine cannot get above water, I overdid it a little bit and expected a jump like a whale, which would make this even better. I gotta admire the dedication though, drawing art on touchpad is definitely Ludum Dare on hardcore mode.

Home is where hell is by Anderson Job Loeffler 2025-04-08T18:58:59Z

Awesome music, very depressing and dark. Though it took me an embarrasingly long time to figure out the jump to the position shown on your second screen. And Devil's commute is a very strong argument for remote work, gotta say!

HMS Lumos by Helagos 2025-04-08T06:00:02Z

Pretty fun one! I encountered the same issue as frib - when I bought the light upgrade, my screen eventually turned white and I couldn't see treasures nor barrels:

2025-04-08_07-56-54.png

I would move the background elements a bit more, because it kinda confused me at the beginning, but only for couple of seconds. I thought it was like a map showing you where you are. Otherwise pretty fun game, quite relaxing. And a nice, calming music!

Descend by Placeholders 2025-04-08T06:24:09Z

Wonderfully trippy, I actually enjoyed this a lot and I would say this is one of my favorite entries so far! I love experimental games like this. Awesome sounds, atmosphere, and graphics work amazingly well together despite being this simple. Well done, absolutely loved this!

The Trench by atsh 2025-04-07T15:51:51Z

Nice simple entry, though like mentioned above, could be used as a tiny education game. Sonar mechanics are nice and satisfying to look at. I was like: "Battery seems to be holding well, what will I even need it for?" and the ending certainly surprised me!

Grip of the Abyss by McRamon 2025-04-08T18:16:03Z

I got 200 meters deep. Hopefully not that bad, especially considering the fact that I wasn't that sure if I was doing everything correctly.

2025-04-08_20-12-26.png

I really love the design of the submarine of the game over screen, it absolutely kicks ass! Great sound effects, and graphics look very nice too. Maybe I would welcome more explanation, but on the other hand, it's also part of the fun to figure things out. And it's gonna be the for the best that I will never be in charge of submarine.

Work-Life Balance by sarellano 2025-04-07T06:54:34Z

Oh yeah, this hits home. Though my job is actually a good one, so I have that going for me! I liked the screen turning between frowning/happy faces, reminded me of the "Tired of looking at BAD SCREEN, can't wait to get home and look at GOOD SCREEN" meme.

Otherwise, I made it! Though I wonder whether I didn't run through it way too quickly, because I haven't encountered any pizza ovens, boats or god forbid, a kid.

2025-04-07_08-44-23.png

Otherwise pleasant color palette, quite simple to understand, even though took me couple of seconds to realise what the game progress bar means. All in all, good job!

Now I only have to find out how to fix the IRL bug when you sleep and the exhaustion meter doesn't go down.

Nightmare Digger by OnnGD 2025-04-08T06:09:13Z

That's a very good first game! Music is very intense and the gameplay too! Besides feedback mentioned above, I would definitely welcome feedback effect that would show that I'm digging, but no biggie at all. Well done!

Hail Mary by YouCarryOats 2025-04-07T16:01:49Z

Definitely one of the most original takes on the theme I've seen so far. Unfortunately, quite a complicated gameplay for my smooth brain. Graphics are very interesting, I love how you did the crowds, that is quite unique!

The Investigator by ImmortalFox 2025-04-07T15:39:15Z

If this is really your first game, then I would say you did an amazing job! Very original take on the theme, and while there isn't that much of gameplay, I am sucker for these kinds of stories, so, I enjoyed this! Since you are asking for feedback, then I have these suggestions:

* Color palette is well picked. Since you use Aseprite, I recommend playing a bit with gradients (with dithering). It can make many things look nicer very quickly by adding details on its own. It can also soften the difference between layers. Could add a nice detail to your characters, and buttons, in maybe couple of minutes. But otherwise I think game assets look pretty solid, so, keep on drawing! * Dialog piece - it gets the job done, but I would add the button below the clickable actions (or make them flash or something), so that it's obvious what you can click on. Plus like one person suggested above, you can make it bigger in general, since it's main focus * Fonts - well picked and fitting, but texts in the dialog section are a bit smudged. Maybe turning off anti-aliasing would do the job, but perhaps the issue is something else, it's been a while since I used Game Maker

But overall, I think this is pretty great and you should definitely feel proud of yourself!

Game and Physics: Water Cat by MoD_Wiz 2025-04-27T06:16:31Z

Commenting after the rating ended, but thankfully, you had more than enough ratings already. Not sure if there's something I can say that hasn't been said before, so I will just say that this game was super easy for me to pick up and the amount of levels here is pretty amazing for the jam game. And I absolutely loved the animation of the cat in the water, it's super fun just to look at it, haha!

Difficulty scaled up very reasonably and as some people mentioned above - levels in general were on the easier side, but at the same time, that's what I really prefer when playing jam games. So, well done and congratulations for your score!

SATURATION by swooty 2025-04-09T05:56:54Z

Very impressive, you absolutely nailed it with the atmosphere here. Visuals here are incredibly well made. You managed to get a lot out of relatively simple assets, and that's always super hard to do in 48 hours. For some reason, those endless pipelines reminded me of Tesseract in Interstellar, but not really quite sure why. They definitely sold the idea of massive, pretty much endless refinery, must be something for people with thalassophobia. UI is also excellent, I love the use of glowing effects, which makes it look super clean and cool. Sounds are also really well made, and I just think this is pretty much flawless in this regard. During my gameplay, I played around a little bit due to being curious, and I was like: "Oh, those creatures have adorable eyes" and then they bit me in the face; lesson learned! I think sonar took me a little while to figure out. Though when you sit and think for couple of seconds, it makes sense, so, I'm not quite sure what I would suggest there. Maybe also left/right indicators, but it's a question whether that wouldn't make it way too easy. All in all, very impressive and I would be very surprised if this didn't score very high, excellent job for 48 hours game!

Poor Julio... by Sayeg 2025-04-08T05:52:16Z

Nice one, that's a very special friendship. Though I think that would exhaust me after a while, haha. If there is one thing I could fix (besides Julio), it's texts that sometimes go over the buttons slightly. Otherwise a very interesting entry, and nice to see this kind of take on the theme!

LD59 — Signal

Retro Signal Radio by Geckoo1337 2026-04-27T05:59:32Z

Interesting idea, you don't see non-game entry very often! Apart from the volume slider mentioned above, it would be very cool if this showed the current song that's being played, but not sure if those radio stations support it.

Signaler Signal by khaotom 2026-04-21T05:48:48Z

Nice little game. Surprising amount of interactions and ways how to progress. Didn't get stuck too much anywhere, but took me a little bit to figure out that finishing it actually made me start the game again, but then I noticed that level is the same, haha. Background music was kinda rough on my ears though, had to mute it after like a minute or two. Nice entry anyway!

Multiplayer Signal by mdotedot 2026-04-20T15:28:08Z

Multiplayer compo game, that's definitely playing on nightmare mode. I have actually played this for a bit in the morning, but when I try to play it again now (so that I can give you some detailed feedback), I just see this screen, even on multiple computers. Did it stop working properly by a chance? Or am I just simply too sleep deprived?

2026-04-20_17-27-20.png

Cheeky Cherry Choo Choo by Phlip45 2026-04-24T17:14:49Z

I loved the sounds, just like everybody else! I am sucker for sounds made with the mouth, feels very charming. I gotta explore two frame animations myself, because they give the game some extra charm and juice.

Gameplay was pretty easy to pick up and didn't take me too long to get it fully, but some UI indicators would be certainly welcome. That said, fun little game!

Valiant Stars by LCStark 2026-05-07T06:48:13Z

Pretty fun one, watching ships moving relatively slowly reminded me of DEFCON for some reason. Took me a little bit to figure out how to work with the signal, but not too long.

I think that since there are essentially only two options of either moving signal or adding a new motherboard, it feels like just clicking into the map without having to click on signal button first would do the trick, but like, that's nitpicking, and I guess you wanted to do more things over there.

It seemed like a relatively even battle for a while, but I got scrap quicker than the enemy, which let me spam more and more new ships, and I ended up overwhelming the enemy ships (and my CPU) like this:

2026-05-07_08-39-38.png

The game almost went to a standstill, but eventually, my poor CPU managed to compute it until the victorious end! Had a lot of fun with this one, well done!

Monolith by William Corrin 2026-05-01T20:17:46Z

This is an incredibly impressive compo entry and you're obviously very skilled! Blows my mind that you were able to create both battle and chill music. Maybe doing that first is a good idea, because every time I plan to make some music, I do it the second day and it usually sucks, so, I am writing that down.

Sounds were really good, and it's impressive that you have also managed to add aiming with iron sights, reloading animation was awesome and you don't see animated ending sequences very often. However, what blew my mind the most was the fact that you created an animated 3D body model you can see when you look down; it is always a nice touch in FPS game, but I can't imagine commiting to that for compo; I wouldn't even dare to think about that, haha.

I would say enemies were relatively easy once you figure them out, but still pretty fun. I think that the gun could have some extra weight to it, and I didn't like the grass pop-in very much, but that's splitting hair. Seriously impressive job here, well done!

Aye Aye, Can't See! by Avhatar 2026-04-23T15:23:50Z

Nice premise, I see what you did there! The movement felt kinda slow and kinda feels like I would prefer using W and S instead of Q and E, but it's not that hard to get used it. Otherwise really really good visual style! Graphics are simple, but incredible effective. Pretty obvious that you have a lot of experience, because it feels super polished. Shooting sounds and impacts are SUPERB. :ok_hand:

BOLERO by tpsy 2026-04-21T05:57:07Z

Just like the others, I followed the signal at first, but when I figured out that I wasn't support to do that, then I was able to finish the game relatively quickly. Got the best time so far, it seems!

2026-04-21_07-53-30.png

Textures are really nice, and lighting too, but I would try interpolating the lantern position next time (lerp() should do the trick) to give it a smoother motion, it's kinda unpleasant when it's moving this quickly and all over the place, but not like it stopped me from enjoying this!

I Had No Signal! by fabelay 2026-04-21T15:56:21Z

Very good visuals and atmosphere! Radio tower reminded me of Tokyo Tower, which is my favorite building in the world. And rapidly draining battery really gave me some sense of urgency. I kinda didn't like invisible walls too much, but I understand why they are there, as player could just walk towards the tower directly.

I really liked the phone implementation, because it forces you to look at the smaller screen more, and the less you see, the more creepy things feel. Though I have one probably unusual question; is there any way how to find the monster easily? Because I do understand that it shows only on the phone screen, but I played the game like 4 times, and I was trying to find it on purpose, but I wasn't successful. Maybe I'm just too ugly, though.

I Had No Signal! by fabelay 2026-04-21T18:49:10Z

@fabelay ah, that worked perfectly indeed. Nice one! And yea, the little tricks that players don't know about, love it! In my game, there's a spawner behind the player all the time, just waiting.

MEGAHONK by kuviman 2026-04-22T19:07:12Z

I drove over 200 kms today and I sure wish we had megahonk in the real life sometimes, because it's super satisfying to press it. Driving and physics are very fun, frustrating in a perfect way. Radio is very well done, it's fitting perfectly into the game!

Dracula 2: The Bloodening of Neo London by Guardaro 2026-04-20T18:22:53Z

Great visuals and feel! Took me few tries to figure it out, but noone can beat Dracula on the first try. Once I got a hang of it, it felt pretty slick and super cool. I managed to finish relatively quickly afterwards:

2026-04-20_12-05-49.png

Who can beat my score?

Roadkill junction by BadPiggy 2026-04-20T18:37:44Z

I would say that so far, this is the most actually fun to play game I have played so far! Very original take on the theme, high octane action, and tough as nails.

At the first (and for like first ten tries), holding J and tapping in the direction felt kinda weird, almost like if I expected it to work the opposite way, but I got used to it eventually. Though I think I would also like a combination of direction + J, so that I can run towards the traffic and also signal it that they can go.

All in all, super fun. Few tiny things — if the car signals that it's gonna go through the intersection and you give signal to it, it will turn lights back to "waiting" color, and I had one car just blowing the intersection without waiting, but I don't really blame them, I would be stressed too in this situation.

SOS by dan-whiffing 2026-04-22T05:49:24Z

Great atmosphere! I couldn't get a cursor grab on my Windows machine in Chrome, but it worked for on me on Mac, so, thankfully I was able to get to play it! Like the others, I really liked how the signal was represented, definitely one of the most satisfying presentations, but it took me a while to figure everything out.

I love seeing React Three Fiber used here. I wanted to make my own starting project template in R3F and make a game in it in the future (so that I improve my React/TS which we use at work), but it's kinda haunting idea still, as my React and TypeScript skills are definitely not that great yet. How was the experience overall?

SOS by dan-whiffing 2026-04-22T18:41:27Z

@dan-whiffing thank you for the comment! Great to hear! I was able to get some basic 3D scene going relatively easily, and I even planned some nicer UI using Tailwind. Gotta check Triplex; I was iterating by essentially forcing specific scenes to load right away and was just using hot reload.

I stopped with my project before implementing some loading logic for 3D models and I was also quite worried about implementing animations for those models, because yeah, R3F is nice, but using engines is definitely more convenient, since these things are already implemented there.

Thanks for the info, encouraged me for sure!

Interesting proof of concept, very atmospheric. Just like the others, I really loved how the ground looked like, I can't emphasize enough how amazing it looks, I think this could be used for something bigger for sure. I think that giving the manifestation even something like simple two-frame animation with wing flaps would do wonders too! It was not really obvious to me what I was supposed to do, so, hopefully catching the manifestation (or it catching me?) is good enough. I think you can just auto-lock mouse right away next time, but good to have both mouse lock and unlock button, I don't think I've seen a game with an unlock one, but maybe it's because we don't want players to go away from our games. I had some framerate issues too, but nothing big. Keep going, you have it in you!

Thank you for the comment, @mdotedot! It's possible that something is just trying to confuse you with the signs. :eyes:

Thank you for the review, @tolviere! You're right with people maybe bouncing off too early, maybe I should have added some hint into the game over screen. Oh well, sleep deprivation, right?

I liked you vibes too, @cupofmilk7! Thank you for the comment!

Thank you all for comments, love them!

Glad you liked it, @khaotom & @johku90!

@richjbaron it's true that it's kind of a stretch, but you are picking up signal every time you are near interactibles, so, let's pretend it counts.

@frib no, don't ignore *it*! !> Joking asides: That's exactly what you're supposed to do, ignore signals and not interact with anything (you are helping *it* find you by doing that) and keep going, that's actually a correct solution, well done!

@guardaro glad you liked that room, it's my favorite too! Glad to get a pass on the jumpscare, the deadline was incoming quickly and I was borderline delirious from the crunch, so, I stitched it together by glue and thoughts and prayers, so, it's not exactly the most terrifying one.

@beareye yea, I can definitely understand that, I gave the game to play to my friend today and he was confused too. You can check the spoiler in my previous comment which explains how the game actually works. But I really regret not dropping a hint into the game over screen, I will do better next time!

@goodwayman glad you figured it out and the game didn't deceive you completely! How would you improve jumping? Does it feel floaty? Or any other ideas? I'm all ears, since I pretty much just make first person games, so, any improvement there helps.

Thank you for amazing comments and feedback! And I'm glad more people figured it out, I was starting to get worried.

@bonedaddy maybe I should have put more clues in there, but I didn't have enough time, unfortunately. I had more plans with that room, but the clock was ticking way too quickly.

@fabelay yea, speedrunning is the way, I think you can get to the finish in like not even two minutes!

@dan-whiffing yeah, my classic problem with making maps way too big. I already wrote it down for the next jam, it's a chronic issue of mine.

@haln ah, understandable. Really makes me realise I should have put more hints into the game over screen. If you want to know the solution:

!> Do not interact with anything, you're helping *it* to find you, *it* designed the environment to deceive you into helping *it* to find out where you are. This is why arrows do not lead anywhere or point towards things that harm you, and why the exit from the first room has "do not enter" signs. Your ultimate goal is to get to the end without being found out, which means without interacting with anything. But yeah, the way how it's communicated is ultimately not very good, sorry for that.

@henk it's true that maybe it's better to keep it that way, and let players figure it out instead of making everything super obvious. Phone IRL is usually a death of me, so, I would say your gameplay tracks. Didn't notice the doors, that's funny, let's pretend it was made on purpose. Rated your game back!

@zedgame glad it made you uncomfortable, I take it as job relatively well done, I wanted some Stanley Parable fourth wall breaking, but I would say they surely did a better job. Already rated your game, it was my favorite one!

@phlip45 glad you liked it, and yea, moving as fast is the way to go!

@frowsyfrog interesting; when I was creating that room, doors were super obvious, so, I added some pillars and significantly more tables, maybe a little bit too many.

Thank you for a very detailed feedback, @william-corrin and sorry for replying later, I wasn't very available last two days. Really makes me think that maybe I should have introduced some gradual hints in the game over screen. I will keep that in mind for the next time, creating good and reactive UI that communicates well with player is definitely something I should work on more.

Definitely true that not much of an intricate gameplay here, so, I am not planning to continue on this one after the jam.

Rated your game back, I would say yours was much more impressive for 48 hours.

Awaiting Response by DzejPi 2026-05-07T06:59:01Z

Thank you for your comment, @zhangzhimu! Yea, I agree, will keep an eye on this the next time. Rated your game back!

Thank you for your really in-depth review, @lcstark, love it! I think you're right, the feedback is kinda too subtle, it feels, so, that there's not that much of a difference between (invisible) 20 % or 80 % of "signal" and there could have been more hints.

I think your idea with the monster making some sound after few interactions would actually be really good and super easy to implement, so, that's a shame I didn't have such ideas. I wanted to go with the ideas like catching a glimpse of a dark shape for a bit or some monster movements when it's barely visible and far away from you, but I simply haven't had enough time.

Blinking lights are pretty funny; there's no pattern, because it's actually just a bug, haha. I think it's an issue with incorrect occlusion culling. However, I thought it looked pretty good, so, I kept it in.

Constant buzzing is a good feedback. Figured out that most of the people will spend few minutes in the game, so, it wouldn't be a big deal, but I surely can't imagine listening to it for an hour or something. I tried to set 3D audio so that it would kinda work, but when you listen closely, you can surely hear everything at once. Gotta focus on that in the future, because audio is definitely one of my weaker skills.

Thank you very much for the comment and great ideas, rated your game back!

Thank you so much for the detailed comment, @thelastslowpoke! Glad you enjoyed it and you were able to figure it out in the end. It's true that it's easy to bounce off in this one.

I will have a look at the mouse feeling, but not quite sure what could be issue, because if I remember correctly, the mouse delta should be the same for all axes, but maybe that could be an issue, maybe it should be faster on one of them to feel better.

Chromatic aberration is a little bit overdone for sure. When it's on max, the text is barely readable, I gotta tone it down next time, though I think I won't be doing horror one next time, so, maybe it's not going to be needed.

It's incredibly surprising for me that anyone would even notice that I missed the last LD, this really warmed my heart! The last autumn was quite challenging, because were were in the process of preparing to move, we were renovating the new apartment, working on new floors, painting, and thousands of other things... so, I was playing around with the idea of joining LD regardless, but I just couldn't do it. For some reason, strangely, it felt kinda freeing to break the streak!

I was thinking about going until Monday on some LD, but I don't want to use my vacation days for that. Though it's true that no matter what, Monday is a borderline sick day territory either way, so, I don't rule it out in the future. It's super challening to do these things in 48 hours, but it feels good... at least for my mind, body is starting to fall apart, it feels, haha.

Rated your game back, loved it!

FINDER-1 by richjbaron 2026-04-20T16:26:06Z

This feels incredibly satisfying to play and look at. You nailed the vector look, feel and movement, and it makes an amazing atmosphere. Signals bouncing off the terrain look FANTASTIC!

Though I agree that it feels like I would be lost without hints, but I am sure it's very hard to balance these things in such a short amount of time. But all in all, one of my favorite entries, well done!

FINDER-1 by richjbaron 2026-04-20T18:46:33Z

@richjbaron that's what I call a lucky strike, getting this right this quickly would definitely keep me going, and very cleverly designed, I was kinda wondering how it all worked!

Vibe upgrade really made me laugh, very good upgrade! Took me a little bit to figure everything out, but not too long.

I am sure there is some advanced strategy, but I managed to finish just by removing connections once Nibbler was on it, and recreating it again. Final graph looks very nice, I am sure I could calculate the most optimal connections like... 11 years ago just before the discrete math exam, and then never again.

Seems like my time is somewhere around the middle:

Terminal Espionage by Frib 2026-04-21T06:11:38Z

Very good mood and music, really puts you in that place and creates an impeccable atmosphere. I liked the effects, but I think I would make screen flickering quicker.

Though like the others, I found the game quite hard to grasp, but I am getting there and will explore more after work. Post mortem actually explains a lot and makes me understand why did you go with these choices.

Though I agree that it feels very ambitious, so, it feels like one of the rare entries where it would probably make sense to focus on it fully after the rating period ends and turn it into a full feature game, I think it could be a very interesting one, and could find its specific audience!

Synesthezoo by TheLastSlowpoke 2026-05-08T22:17:47Z

This is probably my favorite pattern matching game I've played this jam! It feels very and unique compared with most of the pattern matching games which are using just a simple wave and basic modulations. Fractals are an amazing choice, I love them (in general, I have a full book about them) and how you implemented them here.

All an all, they give it super trippy and acid-y look which I love. Moreover, it gives you so many ways how to actually modify the patterns, some are really ingenious, like crooked zoom in/zoom out. I can only imagine the crazy math you had to use here!

I would say that introducing the new difficulties gradually was well done. New complexities were introduced in a way that I understood what the new animal was about.

To my surprise, it felt like I was going through most of the levels surprisingly quickly. I say most of them, because last but one really took me a while, and the last one is an absolute nightmare difficulty for sure.

For things to improve: I'm not sure whether input/output comparison was very useful for me; it felt like I was mostly going by looking at the visuals. Maybe for the last level, I would give some extra hints, but maybe that would spoil the fun. And not sure why, but deer is giving suspiciously suggestive look, but it's probably going to be my massive sleep deprivation and total exhaustion from the last few days.

All in all, loved this one, well done!

Outpost by henk 2026-04-23T06:03:32Z

This would be a perfect home office with the best view, (if we ignore the dying part)! I got a hang of movement with WASD and arrows very quickly, it really gave a good impression of zero gravity environment, so, well done on that front!

I also liked the combination of 3D and 2D assets, it's not super easy from my experience to get it feel right. Just like the others, I missed some extra feedback that would make me know whether I'm doing something correctly or progressing with the story, but I managed to figure everything out eventually.

Writing was also very good, and the end quite gnarly. Love it!

Mission: Stop Transmission by ZedGame 2026-04-22T17:54:04Z

This is probably my the most favorite entry I've played so far! It looks beautiful, but most importantly, it's super polished and chock-full of amazing humor and references for us, chronically online people. Super fun to play and to figure out all tasks, but at the same time, you won't get stuck with any objective.

Typing with admin and coworker was the first thing this week that managed to genuinely make me laugh, well done! Though I was kinda sad that this didn't work:

2026-04-22_19-20-40.png

Otherwise, there's not much to nitpick, though I would welcome if opening notepad or terminal would autofocus the cursor so that you could write right away, but that's absolutely negligible. Well done, if this doesn't win in at least some categories, then we have collectively failed.

Phase Signal by goodwayman 2026-04-21T15:47:54Z

Amazing visuals, very pleasant artstyle and very pleasant UI, probably the best one I've seen so far! Moving with WASD like is implemented in this game didn't feel very intuitive at first, but then it clicked, because moving boxes would not be as easy.

Talking about boxes; for some reason, it took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out in the second level that I can move the blue cube by myself, I just assumed it was stationary. However, once I figured this obvious thing out, it was a smooth sailing afterwards!

Follow the signal by cupofmilk7 2026-04-20T15:43:26Z

I am usually not a fan of card games, but this one was pretty fun and easy to understand, so, well done on that front! Artstyle has a nice feel to it, and I like the slight fade effect when you stack multiple signals on top of each other, it's a nice touch. Animations in general are bouncy and feel good. Tiny thing that came to my mind: background behind the letters wanted me to click on them, as they kinda look like when you accidentally highlight text on the page and you have to click on it in order to un-highlight it, but it's probably just massive lack of sleep talking out of me, so, ignore that.

Peace : 165 by OasisGreen 2026-05-07T06:36:13Z

Interesting artstyle that makes for a great atmosphere! Sound design is also very good! Story is interesting and dialogs very poetic. I found the time limit quite strict, but once you figure the game out, it was alright, especially since the game area is not too big.

Game displayed fine on 1440p monitor, with only some minor visual issues. I had one annoying bug where clicking on the dialog choices didn't do anything, making me stuck. Otherwise very nice entry and I'm glad that students were involved; I wish I had this option when I was studying myself, because nothing teaches you better about working under pressure and time management than game jam. Awesome!

Boba’s Love Story by ble 2026-04-20T16:59:23Z

Probably the most adorable game I've played so far this LD! I admire this artstyle where models are as simple as they can be, but still ridiculously cute and most importantly, with so much personality. Makes me wonder whether I should give PicoCAD a try some day.

Movement feels fluid and impactful. Everything feels so responsive and alive, and I love the scarf (hopefully it is a scarf, haha). Took me a little bit of trial and error to finish the whole game and learn all signals, but I managed to.

Really loved the bonus mode after finishing, that is a nice touch, haha.

The only thing slightly bothering me was a bug with the scene transition; if you get to the edge of the screen, which triggers a camera move, but you don't continue forward, you will get stuck in the previous screen, but it's easy to work around, and figure out, so, no biggie.

Green Screen by beareye 2026-04-21T15:35:36Z

Very good atmosphere, loved it! Took me a while to figure out how to control this, because it requires looking at keys in quite specific angles/areas, but once I figured it out, I was able to finish this, yay!

Social Signal by Yueyao Wang 2026-04-20T18:07:56Z

Aw yiss, that's finally some original take on the theme. Really loved the adorable music, cute artstyle and over-all finally some heartwarming entry, which is unusual for this theme!

It is very good that you have included hints, because some levels took me a bit of trial and error to me, but at least I could see different reactions. But on the other hand, I got the lost girl level right on the first try, so, watch out!

Some images have transparent bits and pieces where it feels like they probably shouldn't, but that's absolutely no biggie, and probably a result on the hand drawn art style.

Loved this one, well done!

SOMEONE IS LISTENING by Maocaroni 2026-04-21T17:19:56Z

Perfect jam entry; short, easy to pick and effective. Font was quite hard to read, but I managed. Atmosphere here is amazing, artstyle is really good and sounds are great as well. Monster at the end was the first truly creepy thing I've seen this jam, and I was making a horror game myself. Well done!

Signimal by FrowsyFrog 2026-04-24T20:31:56Z

Super adorable game! The art is amazingly cute, and the music is adorable as well. I found first three levels quite easy, though I was always slipping through uncomfortably close to the bears! Last level was a little bit harder, but doable fine, though I lost one hamster. I think that if you created significantly more levels and added more mechanics here, you could have a very nice full feature game!

I did hopefully well enough:

The Signal by Haln 2026-04-22T05:36:37Z

Cute little game. It was immediately obvious what I was supposed to do, I didn't encounter any issues (though I wasn't looking for them) and I was able to finish it pretty quickly.

The premise is really good though, I think that this idea has a lot of potential, actually! With more levels of various complexities, and with some player model, this could be a very good one. Well done!

i love you, too by tolviere 2026-04-20T15:33:09Z

This was more engaging than I expected at first! Playing around with knobs and seeing the wave react immediately and jump around is super satisfying, reminds me high school electrical measurement classes... which weren't my favorite, really, but maybe they gave me enough training for this game! Feels like the real thing. Artstyle, while simple, gets the job done, sound design is well done, it communicates that you're close well, and I'm certainly glad that there's some extra space for slight wave differences, because without that, this could get really difficult. I would say that you nailed it, because it feels just challenging enough. I like that you tried to go with a simple story here, which gives it some extra juice. I liked the dialog letter effects, I definitely have to have a look at how it's done, because me want. :eyes:

i love you, too by tolviere 2026-04-20T15:45:59Z

@tolviere code being a mess is part of LD. :) I use Godot too, so, it's fine! And I personally really liked them, I don't think they were overdone at all!

Inside a Sun by bonedaddy 2026-04-21T18:26:43Z

Had a lot of fun with this one! Very unique mechanics. Reminded me of Acerola's video about recreating the smoke effect from CS which you can shoot bullets through, which creates holes in the smoke, so, I couldn't help but wonder how much of a pain this was to implement, haha.

As mentioned by other, it would be nice to have more sounds and music, but it's always a big challenge with compo. Though if you make space games in the future, then I can recommend checking Kairatune out, it's free and possible to stitch something together in like 20-30 minutes.

Anyway, very good entry, loved it!
