Bubble Rancher by recursor 2023-01-11T00:07:38Z

Fun and innovative idea! I really enjoyed the puzzles and sound effects, I also appreciate how precise the physics are, when the bubbles pop, it always feels like my fault. Also some of the texts made me laugh lol. I stumbled across a level that seems to have a bug, maybe? the container says [Large] but there are no Large bubbles in the level, maybe it was supposed to say [Medium]? The jam rules allow for bug fixes (as long as they don't come with new features), so if this is the case, you are allowed to fix it! bubble.png

Froot Processor by Joel Davis 2023-01-09T12:39:28Z

Hey, awesome game! Very cohesive graphics and sounds that give it a very cute feel, honestly impressive work! gameplay wise my only complaint is regarding buying upgrades, I couldn't exactly remember which store rejected what while placing them so that lead to some regrettable decisions lol. But other than that it's a fun loop that feels rewarding when you make a good pipeline!

I tried playing it with wine (windows emulator on linux) but couldn't get the mouse to capture (it would move off screen while looking around which made it impossible to turn more than 180 degrees). It's probably a wine issue and not a game issue since I don't see this complaint in the comments.

Good atmosphere! If it had a linux export I'd play it fully! currently I can't get too far in it lol.

Aorta by Cloughd 2023-01-09T18:20:01Z

@cloughd the rules state "Porting (especially to Web or Windows) can happen after the initial 48 hours. The longer you wait though, the less time participants will have to play your game." As long as you are transparent that the build has no new features compared to the ones already up I guess it's allowed!

EDIT: it also says "Certain Bug Fixes are allowed. You can’t add new features, but if something broke or didn’t work correctly as you were finishing up, you can fix this after the deadline. You are asked to highlight the changes you make in your submission (a short change log). You probably wont get a 2nd chance with some players, but at least it wont be a problem for future players."

Maybe the mouse capture falls into that category?

Finally got the chance to play the linux version! that was stressful, in the good sense! I like horror but I rarely play horror games because I get scared too easily lol, beat it on my third try I think, I really really liked the amorphous monster (and the lack of a jumpscare, thank god lol), the light at the end, the background noise, the different lighting and color when your heartbeat gets higher (which happens gradually enough that it's really only noticeable once reverted by harvesting a heart). My only criticism is that most of the text in the notes and the ending sequence disappeared before I could fully read it, I did read enough to catch the story though, which had a pretty interesting twist. All in all it was a very atmospheric game, and the sound effects were spot on!

Solvate Rush by LoHii 2023-01-11T01:19:13Z

Fun game! So far one of the funnier entries I've seen. The mystery made me just keep playing lol. The voice clips were really fun too, fit the aesthetic of the game perfectly.

SPOILER: I got to the secret ending, one of the hiding spots was very clever! is the game supposed to exit automatically after the dialogue? I was playing it on wine (windows emulator on linux), I think it closed right after the voice said "resist"

Missiya by cybek 2023-01-10T12:28:31Z

Simple but really entertaining and nostalgia inducing game! I'm completely blown away by the development tools chosen, I will be checking the source code because I find it really interesting! There was one level where the player seemed to have a shorter jump, after playing the rest of the game I understood this was a level specific thing, as in "work with what you have" sort of thing, is that right?

Untitled Farming Game by Ludius 2023-01-09T12:57:29Z

It was a little hard to get the hang of at first but I figured it out lol. Really liked the crafting element, surprisingly solid UI considering how complex it is and how short the jam is!

The Harvest Inspector by John Gabriel 2023-01-11T16:30:31Z

Loved the presentation, the music, the text, the initial sequence. All of them, excellent! Felt a bit intimidated by the timer and ended up guessing some of the stuff (wrongly lol). Really well done!

The Cursed Vest of Soul Harvesting by Frogravity 2023-01-09T00:06:42Z

Loved it!, the graphics were simple and cute, the sound effects were funny but also aesthetically fitting, the puzzles were fun, some of them also hard! The only detail I would've liked would've been being able to see a monster's rules on mouse over, Into The Breach style. Also, the final boss' invocation pattern was a bit unclear and unpredictable, which made it hard to plan ahead. I did end up killing him though! but after that the game went on as if nothing had happened, did the win screen fail to trigger or is there some other condition required to win?

All in all, I really enjoyed playing it!

The Cursed Vest of Soul Harvesting by Frogravity 2023-01-09T13:01:08Z

@Frogman that's awesome that you could get the bossfight done in under 40 minutes! Beating him felt really rewarding lol. I thought he only spawned one orc, but that's probably because there were orcs standing where the new spawns would've been in all spots but one.

The Cursed Vest of Soul Harvesting by Frogravity 2023-01-29T16:09:40Z

Hey! Congrats on the rating! I didn't play a lot of games this jam but this one's the compo submission I liked the most. honestly think you should be way higher on fun! But I'm glad you got high ratings on overall, audio and innovation. Well deserved!

Forked Up by Paroxysmal 2023-01-09T00:35:17Z

Loved the graphics! really enjoyed the retro feel. The controls are tight enough that death always feels fair. Had some issues with the inputs but figured it out after a bit (I think you forgot to mention to press shift to exit the store). My only real criticism is that I do think the cost of the fork upgrades is a bit too high. But other than that it's a fun and good looking game!

The Heat by DzejPi 2023-01-12T16:31:52Z

I actually went in blind on this, without reading anything outside the in-game text itself, the fires took me by surprise!! a nice twist on the gameplay, I agree that it would be better if it had an ending, but as it stands this game conveys a feeling that's not common to most. The idea of starting with a simple task, and then watching as it all goes away, with no choice but to watch it burn or destroy it yourself with the spade, because there's no way you can prevent it with a bucket, is really powerful. The art is great too! The eerie background noise is a nice touch. Really enjoyed this one!

Social Mediæty by const_arch 2023-01-12T02:15:47Z

Awesome game! really fun to play and strategize, funny dialogues and overall setting. Also appreciated the leaderboards, those are always a plus. The newsflashes get a bit annoying after a bit, but that's bound to happen to every game with a text heavy event system. Overall a really enjoyable and unique game!

A Farmer's nightmare by streq 2023-01-10T01:19:37Z

@cybek I just discovered this issue two hours ago while randomly playing! I have no idea what could've caused it, I think it has to do with the way the game resets when you die/win, though I'm not fully sure. Thanks for the comment!

EDIT: yeah, it's that, if you die mid slashing some crops those crops will be "invincible" in the next playthrough.

A Farmer's nightmare by streq 2023-01-10T02:27:30Z

@cybek that is such a good take on the bug lol, it's canon now :P

A Farmer's nightmare by streq 2023-01-18T23:30:49Z

@jakobthequizguy hey thank you for the comment! I actually took special care with the harvesting sounds so that it was impossible for more than one to start playing in the same frame (which would effectively double the volume). I set up a sound pool which decided whether to play a harvesting sound or not based on whether one had already started playing in that frame. I understand this is a somewhat common solution to this issue but this was my first time trying it out, glad it was appreciated :).

A Farmer's nightmare by streq 2023-01-22T20:57:20Z

@sisyphean-games Thank you for playing! Yeah I'm unsure myself whether the crops acting as walls was a good idea, maybe if they just slowed down the player a bit it would allow for more depth in gameplay.

@glaikunt Thank you! glad you beat it :), yes I agree!, I always struggle with music in jams because I always leave it for last lol.

Inter-dimensional Asteroid Harvester by Deepfreeze 2023-01-09T23:42:46Z

Really fun game! Hard at first but you get used to the controls quick. The sound and graphics give it a really nice feel, I agree with the previous criticism about the asteroid collision feedback. Also I noticed that once an asteroid collides with you, further collisions will trigger the "hurt" animation, but they wont subtract anything from your shield (this happens in the Itch HTML version).

Imp by Savidiy 2023-01-09T12:50:12Z

Fun game! it's a concept easy to expand upon. I found the witch progression to be really funny lol. Also the way the imp moves is oddly satisfying.

Ratalie's Escape by masternoob 2023-01-09T16:59:58Z

Really really hard!! I'm actually impressed by the depth the mechanics have as a whole.

Iris's Scrappy Rumble by ScolonDev 2023-01-10T13:06:45Z

Amazing entry! very well polished look, great audio and music, and honestly really fun! specially once the player familiarizes themselves with the ammo outputs.

My only real criticism is that I would've liked a way to heal the player, even if it's a really scarce pickup, because as it stands, early mistakes motivate the player to just restart the game, as there's no way to get health back.

And also, this isn't really a criticism but a suggestion if you intend to keep working on the game (which I would!)

- have you considered having 2 item crafts, or even 1 item crafts? they would of course be weaker than the 3 type ones, but they would give ammo in a pinch! I wouldn't really know if this makes the game better though, only testing it would :)

I'd also consider @lisyarus comment about making the bullets/enemies slower to make crafting ammo easier, and not something you stumble upon while running for your life!

Look Closely! by Xamora 2023-01-09T00:25:02Z

Hey congratulations! I got up to 7 points! I thought I had it figured out but that one level kicked my ass lol
