Harvesting Time by PeteDBrickz 2023-01-09T21:11:08Z
Cute game! I was a little confused at first, but figure it out pretty quickly - the combat is pretty fun, although a little more feedback and sfx would be a big improvement. Nicely done!

I really like the concept of 'harvest' meaning like looting items from a city, and it's cool how much of a map you were able to create! Unfortunately, it's not super clear what to do and it'd be nice if there was some sound. For a first game jam and first time doing pixel art, this is amazing! excited to see what you do next time :D
nice! Definitely would have liked more player feedback and sound effects, but pretty alright overall :) Also could have been cool to see some enemy or weapon variation, but I do like the enemy designs
So sweet and lovely! It's adorable and the mechanics are so clear and clean. The artstyle is precious and I could listen to the music track forever. well done!
nice! really love the vibes and the music slaps! Would have been cool to see some more animations or player feedback when the base takes damage, but the gamefeel is great overall and I really liked your take on the theme :)
nice! the character was pretty difficult to control and once I got the the mirrored room I got a bit bored of writing down numbers and trying things lol, definitly a bit tedious. Totally great for a first time tho, good luck on your future projects!
nice! I really felt super tense trying to meet those quotas, and I really liked how out of control things felt - well balanced to make it feel like a good puzzle/simulation game :)
would have been nice to see a little more polish, but it's nothing critical - there were a few times I ran out of seeds though, and that was kind of annoying. particularly the succulents lol.
good job overall :)
nice! was certainly a bit confused at first, and would have loved to actually see my bullets. I also accidentally selected the upgrade that disabled my hud and it got super hard to see where anything was lol. I like the ps2 style graphics, but it could use a little polish
nice! I thought that displaying the food and money with rate/turn instead of a set amount was interesting, but it would have been nice to be able to see net food instead of having to do a little math each time lol. Satisfying game and nice colors, wish that where you place things matters more. gj overall!
Love this! it's so cute and fun - really nice twist on the 'fitting smaller shapes into a larger shape' idea, and it's completely dripping with charm :) i laughed every time one of the little pieces said something when it hit a wall lol.
did seem a little unforgiving tho lmao - I'm not sure what other solution would be better for space but the countdown didn't start :P

I was not at all ready for the fmv clips and they were incredible - I'm not actually a big fan of this kind of puzzle game but I played the whole thing because the clips were so fun and I wanted to see all of them. well done!
@nimolas thanks for playing and leaving a comment :)
And uhhh not exactly - To check if fire is going to spread, each cell that has fire on it will attempt to spread to all four of its neighboring cells (or those 4 + more in one direction if there's wind) and based on stats about the fire (mainly temp and age) as compared to information about those other cells and what's on them (amount of fuel, minimum temp, moisture content, maximum temp), the chance for fire to spread will be higher or lower, then it rolls to check.
the temp of a fire also effects how quickly it burns through the fuel on the tile its on. As you can imagine there was a lot of tweaking to get everything to feel right and behave more or less like fire.
@nimolas oh yeah I've seen that, I assumed that it would have to be deterministic to be that kind of approach, i misunderstood lol. Thank you!
nice! It could use more player feedback and info and some sounds would be nice, but I do like the take on the theme :) good luck!
Really like the idea and the artstyle is super cool, but I don't really understand what to do after the first couple levels - would love a little more information in the game about what to do lol. good luck on future projects!
nice! I really like the 'furniture in a room' twist on the 'fitting objects into a space' idea and the music was nice, but it was definitely a little confusing - some objects needed more space around them than I realized, so I didn't realize why they weren't being placed when I hit spacebar lol. Like a bunch of people said, it gets a little repetitive with 3 minutes, either a shorter time frame or some other mechanics.
anyways tho, good job for your first Ludum Dare submission, and good luck on future projects!
Precious game! The artstyle really stands out and looks great, and I love the don't starve + short hike inspiration :) I got a little bored just walking/boating back and forth but it was good overall - would have loved to see more sounds to really fill out the mood tho
nice! I love the limited space twist, but the game was a bit tricky - I never got to see if there was anything else besides the area you start in, and would have loved some sound. Good luck on the next one!
