I loved this game! It's quite fun to play, the music adds great atmosphere and the text and shots of the forest growing again between each level really add to it all. The concept is great, and greatly executed. The mechanics are interesting and build off one another. The little human did disappear from the map once though, and another time they just ran off the map.
Nice game, interesting idea! But there is something wrong with fire distribution framerate. Also hope people won't fire forests intentionally after playing it:)
Uff, cool game, but I have couple suggestions - Framerate of fire (maybe add setting to remove some animations and make simulations easier) - Duration of fire animations (would like some increase speed button)
P.S. framerate does not affect actual gameplay, so nothing very critical, excellent work)

Really interesting idea. Nice graphics (although a bit sluggish) and satisfying sound effects. Very fun game!
Yo, cool game! I like burning things. Felt the camera was a bit awkward at times but the satisfaction of causing a chain reaction is always good!

Interesting mechanic! I feel like it takes too long to progress, though. Agreed that it can use a fast forward or something :D but other than that, very neat! Good job!
Really cool game, i really wanted to get the last level right, loved it

Mooom! Look I am causing natural disasters from the sky to the nature!! "evil laugh" >:) ... out of jokes, this was a good experience!! congrats for this! ^^ The forest growing at the same time that extra fire can eat all the life on it. This was a very interesting idea! ;)
Cool idea! Blowing up the cars was pretty fun, haha. Couldn't crack the code on the last level, but enjoyed regardless
Excellent game! There's a clear artistic vision here that is executed very well. One small issue is that when you press N to skip a level you don't get the camera shot or the text before, so if you skip one level it can be difficult to understand what you are supposed to do in the next one. Nevertheless this game is really good game and everyone who complains about the framerate are probably annoying PC gamers who haven't played EDF. Although I wish the fire spread a bit faster, but that's because I'm an impatient little shit. Good job!

This game was great, a bit laggy like others have noted but nothing game breaking.
A solid foundation to build off of, would be interested in a full release. Has some great potential.
Nerdy side note: Did you take a Cellular Automata approach for the cells and firespread?
@nimolas thanks for playing and leaving a comment :)
And uhhh not exactly - To check if fire is going to spread, each cell that has fire on it will attempt to spread to all four of its neighboring cells (or those 4 + more in one direction if there's wind) and based on stats about the fire (mainly temp and age) as compared to information about those other cells and what's on them (amount of fuel, minimum temp, moisture content, maximum temp), the chance for fire to spread will be higher or lower, then it rolls to check.
the temp of a fire also effects how quickly it burns through the fuel on the tile its on. As you can imagine there was a lot of tweaking to get everything to feel right and behave more or less like fire.

@aidanbacon That sounds like Cellular Automata to me. Look into Conway's Game of Life. It's very similar to what you described.
Cool game, and some cool tech behind it
@nimolas oh yeah I've seen that, I assumed that it would have to be deterministic to be that kind of approach, i misunderstood lol. Thank you!
Enjoyed playing this game. Graphics, sound and game design on good level. Has completed all levels and would keep playing if had more. Funny humans. It was anxiously to watch at first level with them how fire going closer and closer. But after realizing thats all humans are in safe - funny to watch their behav.

Ohh I really like this. The music and graphics and sound of the flames work together so well to create an almost serene atmosphere despite the y'know, fire. Showing the new growth after the burn is such a nice touch. I really like this, great job!
Very chill game I really liked the story. I think this game has really good potential, the music was very peaceful
Liked this game, be useful to teach fire safety with nice job, the simulation is nice great effort - some of the materials for the objects didn't match all that well in my opinion trees vs grass but that is minor, Great effort
I like it so much! The atmosphere reminds me of Terra Nil (it's a really chill game themed around nature). I sincerely hope you develop it further, I'd like to see more levels

What an amazing game! I love the atmosphere and the idea! I did however notice a few things which I would like to share:
I noticed that the Depth of Field was quite a bit intense for my liking, which really made the zoom not that functional (I wanted to see the forest burn from above, but that didn't really work in my opinion.
I also noticed that the wind gust which happens just as you click (just the effect, not the wind itself) is placed in the wrong orientation. It rotates with the camera but in the opposite direction it seems like. Additionally I only found out really late that you can rotate the wind, so I got stuck on the final level for some time.
I do however love the whole dialog before the level and seeing the vegetation grow after the level. Amazing job overall!
_That human is really good at extinguishing flames, all alone, with his hands_
