It's unclear how you can connect to other players.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD59 → Multiplayer Signal

I see that it's named signal but I'm not sure how it relates to the theme. If you did get multiplayer working, I'm extremely impressed! As it is, I can't figure out what I'm supposed to be doing or how to play with others...
Can I do something else besides walk around? Is this finished yet?
I don't understand how to get past level 2
It would be great if there's a tutorial..Couldn't figure out what to do
The concept of being a different letter of signal was interesting and unexpected
@debugman18 : thank you for playing. You have to wait for others to join, or open another browser and play with two sessions 'together'. Thanks for looking at the game and commenting. @richjbaron : Multiplayer is still working and I just now finished a session with a remote player, not sure who it was. Thank you for playing and commenting! @timo5034 : I'm not sure if you were experiencing troubles, but the point is that you push the character that is similar to your own to the 'black'=hole character. That makes the path and 'completes' the level once all the characters in the level are gone. Thank you for playing and commenting! @gaudy and @yueyao-wang : definitely! As soon as I had my girlfriend play it it was clear to me; alas the time .. but very good point!!! Thank you both for playing and commenting! @tenthousandfireants : Glad you liked it. Thank you for playing and commenting!
The third level is already really tough! The multiplayer works on its own, by the way. The controls feel a bit unfamiliar—I'm tempted to switch to the arrow keys. But it's a cool idea!
Thank you for playing and commenting @sinemual . Keyboard walk/push is the way to go and click to switch. My girlfriend finished a level with only finger on tablet, but it was tricky for her. So I adviced her to play on computer. Again thank you for your feedback. The feedback is why I do these Jams!.
Did not found other players, but was also nice to play it alone! Walking could be a bit smoother (so that when you move into one direction you stay at a constant speed). Maybe also the assets could convey the game mechanics a bit better (as an example, the black letters could be slots in the shape of letters to indicate that you should slide the letters into these.
Wow really ambitions entry! I even found someone to play online with, sadly it got super laggy... I also don't quite understand how the multiplayer deepens the experience of what you have setup? Sure it is cool to work together but if I can solve everything myself why wait for someone else? I dig the minimalist art style and appreciate the settings even if they were a little crude! I can see the vision you had but maybe you tried to fly just a smitch too close to the sun!
Ooh now I get it, that's actually pretty cool! And now there were actually other people running around playing the game :)
A little hard to understand at first but the video you published helped me a lot and I like the idea :D Sometimes I couldn't switch to another pawn (the character you control with the letter), so I was blocked and had to restart. Otherwise pretty cool :)
While I was writing this comment, I tried to replay the game but the map never loaded :/
Cool idea, it just needs a little bug fixing. Good job :)
Multiplayer compo game, that's definitely playing on nightmare mode. I have actually played this for a bit in the morning, but when I try to play it again now (so that I can give you some detailed feedback), I just see this screen, even on multiple computers. Did it stop working properly by a chance? Or am I just simply too sleep deprived?

@domenixius : Propably the issue is that you are outside of europe which can cause lag. I like to make multiplayer games and that gives hardaches but it is worth when it actually works. Thank you for commenting. @timo5034 : Thank you for your nice comments. @stormsword : When there are (in-active) players in the level you can't switch to them. I already have a fix for that off-game. But thank you for the comments! And yeah : server had crashed! It is up again, and now I have to figure out what was causing that! @dzejpi : Glad you played earlier because indeed the server crashed. My compliments on given the screenshot that helps! (Although I had the same :D) At least I should have made a screen to indicate that the server is down. That is going to be on the list of things to fix. Everyone: Thank you for all the feedback; hopefully I get them fixed in the engine by next LD :D
I didn't play the multiplayer so I am not sure if that changes the gameplay in a significant way.
What you have here is a small sokoban game with confusing levels. I finished the first but couldn't seem to move the letters in the second one.
It’s impressive that you managed to include multiplayer! It looks pretty complex. Like others, I think I ended up alone in my lobby. I’m not entirely sure how to win.
This was an interesting game, and I think it's the first multiplayer game I've seen in a jam! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to play multiplayer, but the game still seemed to work on its own. I think I soft locked the second level by putting the A into a corner I could no longer push it. Maybe multiplayer would help with this? At any rate, interesting concept. Nice work!
@juyr , @frowsyfrog , @pres2300 : thank you all for playing and commenting. When you can move in the game you are in multiplayer. If there is no one logged in you are alone in the world. @pres2300 : I tried to design the levels so that you always have a # where you can get to as a player but not with a character. Maybe if you put more characters in a square that you can get the situation what you are mentioning, but I cannot deduce that from your sentence. The third level with the numbers '4' in them might be another situation.
a multiplayer puzzle game sounds like an insane scope for a compo entry :D I am not sure how well the multiplayer is working since I never managed to encounter anyone after playing couple of 10-15 minute sessions over the last two days--but I am assuming that I've successfully connected for there was a slight delay in my inputs--not a disturbing amount.
There were some nice puzzles and they were not overly complicated but just right. Although, just a bit difficult to initially get a grasp on due to lack of in-game explanations. I assume this to be a stylistic choice--but regardless, I liked the kind of abstract vibe this makes the game give off in combination with the art-style (object sprites, the audio, color scheme etc.) This certainly is a unique game in many aspects.
Though I believe I saw some of the same (or very similar) puzzles around the map--and perhaps this is so that same puzzles can be played by multiple parties simultaneously--considering the time limitation, I am pleased with the puzzle quality and variety, this is an interesting and fun puzzle game, thanks!
I figured out that you need to move letters into words, and I actually got somewhere with it, but at some point I got stuck and wasn't sure what to do next. Maybe it's because I spawned in Solo?
@whateverdat : thanks for playing and doing the in-depth feedback. All good points and some nice comments.; The lack of tutorial was clear when first comments came in and I thought I would start with a small level, but I needed some more than pointing arrow. The feedback is the main reason for me to join jams. Again, thank you for taking the time to leave a comment!
@avhatar : thank you for playing and leaving a comment. There is no SOLO .. everything is multiplayer so there were propably no other players. Can you still remember a little bit of where you were stuck; I tried to design the levels so you cannot be left in a stuck-position.
It took me quite a while to understand what to do. Even watching the tutorial video didn't really help, until I actually opened couple of tabs and tried to move different letters into right places, in different tabs. And now I finally get it. Wow. The fact that it actually works and it's a multiplayer game in Compo time makes it pretty impressive. I'm guessing the server still needs some work, because I opened like 6-7 tabs and after finishing one puzzle I got stuck and wanted to open another tab, but I got the same thing as @dzejpi. I'm guessing this might be why I was stuck (couldn't move any letters).
Anyway, it's very impressive to achieve a working multiplayer game during the Compo. Congrats!
@marudziik : Thank you very much for this incredible bug report. This helps a lot! Normal work is resumed but next weekend I will definitely investigate these detailed steps.
It's the weirdest Sokoban I've ever played. The music is quite avant-garde, I'd say. I liked it! Thanks for the tutorial video.
@kit-gorn : thank you for playing commenting and the nice words.
I had to watch the video to realise you could swap letters (im sure i tried clicking them before) Cool puzzles and a cool look but why do the rooms reset when you leave them? is that because of the multi player aspect? would be good if it reset when it was complete or eveyone left the game.
@steveofstevesgames : Thank you for playing and commenting. Yeah that is because of the multiplayer aspect. The 'level' will always reset when nobody is in the level anymore. If there are connections in the level it is not reset. When there are issues and the level can't be completed the exiting level situation will reset it so that it can be completed. I already am thinking of a mode/switch on the hud to allow players to have a single player experience and then there are way more options to be added on.
This is hard to comprehend ...
The fact that each level just resets and wipes out your progress as soon as you leave it completely killed my motivation to keep playing. If everything I do gets immediately erased, then what's the point?
There's a good idea in here, and as others have said, it's impressive that you managed to get multiplayer working within the jam window, but unfortunately there are some bizarre design choices here that just sour the whole experience for me.
@f1krazy : thank you for taking the time to give me feedback.
