LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Up Down by pres2300 2017-12-04T00:23:36Z

My first ever solo Ludum Dare AND solo game! I've only ever done this once before, but with an experienced friend. I decided to learn Apple's SpriteKit over the weekend, so that's what I did the challenge with! It's an extremely basic reaction game inspired by games like Flappy Bird and BitTrip Runner. Feel free to give me suggestions on how to advance this game in the future! These are my favorite types of games to challenge friends to or to have something to play that can be really quick (also sometimes addictive!).

Up Down by pres2300 2017-12-04T22:31:39Z

Yeah, unfortunately you'll need a mac with xcode on it to make things work :(

Up Down by pres2300 2017-12-07T04:02:04Z

@jack-maxwell, thanks for the feedback! I very much intend to participate in these and possibly other competitions in the future. I agree, this is a very boring game. SpriteKit has a lot of features allowing to build/add things quickly. Now that I'm more familiar with that, I expect my future entries to get a bit more polish.

LD55 — Summoning

Rise of the CatMancer by Daniel C 2024-04-20T13:57:09Z

This was hilarious! From the rapture progress bar to the holy killdozer, I kept wondering what whacky thing would happen next! My one critique is that I didn't realize the background art could be walked on. The spikes made me think I was confined to that area, or that I would take damage by touching them. Eventually I wanted to see what would happen, and sure enough you can just walk right over them. Overall, great job! I had a lot of fun playing this.

Summoning by Gao Ming 2024-04-15T03:17:30Z

I enjoyed this. I was a bit confused at first because I kept placing the item where it would overshoot(?) the summoning position thinking that was what I was supposed to do, but eventually it clicked to me that the `X`s meant I was not in the right place. Nice work!

Happy Little Demons by zirconcode 2024-04-15T04:46:05Z

It took me a moment to figure out how to get the demons to connect, but after that I really enjoyed this concept. The demons are adorable, and making them happy makes me happy! I'm not sure if there's supposed to be any audio, but I didn't get any on my end. The visuals were nice.

Summonere by Ace17 2024-04-21T17:25:05Z

Nice job designing this game at a low level. The music and sound effects were well done. The controls weren't all that intuitive to me, but I'm sure with time I would get used to it. The puzzles seemed to have an adequate difficulty ramp, which kept it interesting. Nice work!

Forest of Madness by negator2vc 2024-04-20T14:19:46Z

Fun game! There were a few typos in the descriptions (not a big deal, these things are easily fixed and easily missed when working on a quick project). I liked the art and sound design of the game. I really appreciated that there was a help button to go back and reread the rules. I'm not super experienced in card games, but I started to get the hang of this one after a while. I think it's a pretty interesting concept where you build your own deck over time, and having the WOUND card made things interesting. Nice job!

Dungeon Summoner by magnusfurcifer 2024-04-16T00:27:29Z

I did it! This was fun to play. I could see it being expanded upon easily for more content as the base mechanics seem solid. I liked the grid style movement. You did a great job with the sound as well. Good work!

Champion Road by Leo Nadeau 2024-04-15T22:23:19Z

I really enjoyed the art style and music of the game. The controls with an Xbox controller were a bit touchy for my liking, but I'm sure that can be an easy fix with some settings if you decide to expand on it later. It would be really cool if you could summon track segments while in the middle of a track, and maybe if you don't respond fast enough the track just dead ends and you lose? Either way, cool game concept!

WWWWW: Wily Wazza (the) Wizard's Wacky Wadventure by ThaProfesional 2024-04-17T12:14:17Z

This was pretty fun. I liked the random things you could throw. I was my own worst enemy, though. I killed myself several times with the car and other large objects. This was a unique take on the theme, though. Nice job!

Mana Delve by Alex Mulkerrin 2024-04-15T19:43:00Z

This was cool. I imagine it has some relatively complex logic to figure out how digging should work. I kept getting into situations where I would run out of some type of mana. I'm sure I could figure out a decent strategy if I played it some more. Some audio or visual cues (other than numbers getting smaller) when a certain mana type gets low could help a lot in warning the player they should focus on something. Nice game!

Emperor's Gems by Togis 2024-04-16T12:20:49Z

This game had really cute visuals. I also enjoyed the audio and sfx. It would be nice to have some hotkeys rather than having to click on each button individually, but overall the gameplay was fun. My brain sometimes had a hard time understanding what was left and right (I kept thinking of it from the cart's perspective and getting it backwards). Overall, it seemed to have a nice balance and the progression was satisfying. Nice work!

Dimension Duck by gemcc 2024-04-15T12:42:47Z

This was a great game! The graphics, music, sound effects, and gameplay were all really fantastic. My only critique would be that I wish I could move faster when not in combat. Otherwise, this was a great submission and enjoyable to play. Nice work!

Depths of Hell by pres2300 2024-04-15T02:24:20Z

Thanks for checking out my game! I've been learning 2D game development in Godot for the last few months. I decided to try my hand at making a game jam submission, and this is it! Thanks in advance for any feedback. All assets were created by me (either during the jam or for other projects) other than the font.

I'd love to continue the development of this game. Possible future goals: - Weapon upgrades - More item drops from enemies - More enemy variety - Music - More detailed environments - And so much more!

Depths of Hell by pres2300 2024-04-15T13:10:58Z

@cleverdumb thanks! You can shoot by either holding left mouse click or using the arrow keys on your keyboard. It also has controller support where the left analog stick is movement and the right analog stick is shoot.

Depths of Hell by pres2300 2024-04-16T12:50:01Z

@metagen Yeah, minions can get stuck on the edge. This is because I don't want them to move until they are on screen, and their sprites are bigger than the area for the visual onscreen notifier. In theory I think the player could wonder off screen indefinitely as well. I didn't have time to add any boundaries other than stop the camera scroll at the edge of a level.

Depths of Hell by pres2300 2024-04-17T13:40:18Z

@kristinamay thanks for the feedback! This is technically my third game jam. I did one a long time ago with a friend (he did most of the ground work and it was completely from scratch using OpenGL), and another a while ago in a completely different engine (Apple SpriteKit). This is my first jam using Godot after learning and playing with the engine for a few months. I agree with everyone on the difficulty and a desire to dodge the boss projectiles. I’ll definitely work on that if I decide to take this game farther (so many projects…too little time!). Thanks again for the feedback!

Depths of Hell by pres2300 2024-04-20T14:32:07Z

@rcxa Thanks for the feedback! The game does have gamepad support, but I honestly don't know if it makes it much easier, haha. Through my testing I wasn't any better with it or with the keyboard. It gives you finer control rather than just the 4 cardinal directions and diagonals, but the boss demon is just too much! This is something I'll definitely work on balancing.

Depths of Hell by pres2300 2024-04-20T15:16:16Z

@negator2vc Thanks for the feedback! As it's currently designed, the level size is random. It could be anything from a 2x2 up to a 5x5 (where 1x1 is 1920x1080), so depending on your RNG this experience varies. I agree that the first few levels probably don't need to be so big, so the size range should be a bit smaller at first and then grow on later levels (and maybe later levels will have more stuff in them in general). This is definitely something I'll refine. Thanks for playing!

Lorem Ipsummon by Hugimugi7 2024-04-18T12:04:47Z

This was really well done! I liked the mechanic of summoning things using the words as spells. Like some others have said, I do wish there was more opportunity to use this mechanic. I think it could be a larger part of the game as it mostly felt like your typical platformer. Otherwise, the sound design was amazing, the visuals were very well done, and the voice acting was an excellent touch. Nice job!

Soul Dungeon by megalukes 2024-04-18T12:38:24Z

Fun game! I found the absorbing mechanic a bit awkward because you had to be standing still (or at least on the ground) to do it. I found myself endlessly jumping on a lot of enemies, and if you could just absorb them while in the air it would make the gameplay a bit smoother I think. I loved the summoning mechanic. I like how it's a bit of a puzzle so you have to focus on it for a bit, making summoning have consequences if you do it at the wrong time. Nice job!

Don't press the big red button by Rakowu 2024-04-15T12:30:45Z

This was fun! I liked the style and gameplay. You did a good job with the visuals and sound effects. My critiques would be that the game can get repetitive fast (not really a bad thing given the time constraints in a jam), and the lighting could sometimes get a bit harsh. Other than that, this is a great starting point and could be expanded easily into a really fun game! Nice job!

Tonidachi by JSMCAG 2024-04-15T12:07:44Z

This was fun! I enjoyed playing it. Some suggestions: I found I didn't play it any other way than at full speed because of how long certain things took (like sleeping and summoning events). It would be cool if the game had the option to automatically speed up some of these longer events. This is a great start, though!

Come By by the4thcircle 2024-04-15T05:00:00Z

Freezing Hell by Sozey 2024-04-16T12:47:06Z

I think you did a good job on this. It fits the theme very well. Having to summon fallen enemies to progress is a fun mechanic. I found it was difficult to attack some enemies that were at a higher elevation, but overall this was very well made. Great job on the sound effects and visuals as well. Nice entry!

Build-a-Golem by LexGear 2024-04-15T03:46:04Z

This was a cool concept. I have to admit I didn't immediately understand what the advantage/disadvantage of creating a mixed element golem was. Having the explanation at the beginning was nice. Nice work!

Streets of Mage! by Human Writes Code 2024-04-17T12:01:23Z

oh well. u dead. Loved it! This was really fun. The music and audio were great and the art style was nice. I think it had some nice feedback whenever I gave damage or took damage. Great work!

HellKiller by owenmdvd 2024-04-17T12:09:44Z

I really liked the gameplay mechanics of this game. It had some really satisfying sound effects and camera shake whenever I would shoot stuff. I was a little confused at first that you had to shoot the menu, and I immediately quit the game on accident on my first go. I thought I hit a bug, but no I just accidentally shot the quit button. I also struggled with the initial difficulty, but after some practice I got better and was able to finally try the ultimate out (which was helpful). I then got stuck in a corner and swarmed. Overall, great game! Nice job!

Graveyard Shift: Skeleton Dad Simulator by mrVentures 2024-04-15T04:19:00Z

This was funny! I'm not sure if I just wasn't playing it right, but at one point when I got summoned to fight the adventurer just disappeared. Otherwise, it was an interesting and funny concept! The art style was great.

ONMYOBUSTER by happyhour 2024-04-17T12:34:50Z

The sound design and art style of this game were really well done! Nothing really felt numb because the sounds made it clear that something was happening. I don't know if I was either not using the summoning correctly or what, but I felt as if I would complete 80% of a stage on my own until the summons finally become useful, and then I'd have to start over on the next stage. Overall, great game! Nice job!

Duck Invasion by MetaGen 2024-04-15T03:26:44Z

I liked the audio in this game! I do agree that the acceleration could get a bit painful, but this was an interesting concept that I thought was innovative. I think with some tweaks to the mechanics it could be pretty addictive.

Rune Caller by kristinamay 2024-04-17T14:47:25Z

I loved the artwork! Everything is very adorable, and you did a great job of descriptions for some really unique creations. I like the summoning mechanic and think it fits really well with the theme. I like the idea of a hard mode (maybe a timer or something could add some extra challenge as well?). Overall, nice job!

Cultists on ICE by Pusheeneiro 2024-04-16T03:11:32Z

This was pretty unique. The difficulty does ramp pretty quickly, and it can be hard to anticipate exactly how the ice would work. I could see people spending a lot of time playing something like this. It gives me a bit of nostalgia for some older puzzle games, and I think it is built well. Nice work!

Claws and Conundrums by LocksmithArmy 2024-04-15T23:09:45Z

This was a nice take on the theme. I got really hung up on the inky stuff trying to find reference to it in the book, but the other clue should have given it away for me (that's what I get for not being thorough!). Sometimes the font color blends into the background a bit and makes things difficult to read. Overall, this was a great entry with really cool ambience. Nice work!

Decades And Dragons by Ein 2024-04-16T12:06:16Z

This was a fun take on a DnD themed summoning game (and all too real)! Everything was really well done from the audio, visuals, story, and gameplay. I think at one point I had a bit of an issue not recognizing the very border of a task that was overlapping the schedule, but I resolved it pretty quickly after seeing the problem. It was nice to be able to right click schedule items to quickly reset them. Nice work!

Detective of the Dead: Ghoulish Adventures at Erstwhile Manor by Jahwffrey 2024-04-20T14:53:29Z

This was awesome! It gives me some nostalgia for really old school PC games like Harvester. I can't imagine the amount of work it took to record everything, and you folks even had costumes for the various characters! It was really well done. I would love to see this game taken further. I struggled a bit with the jumping assist from Tony. I couldn't keep it consistent, but aside from that I think this game is an incredible and unique entry! Fits the theme well, too. Nice work!

Summoning Sun by Kamuniaft 2024-04-18T12:14:51Z

Oh wow. The first time the eyeballs started popping up in the darkness really sent shivers down my spine. This game really nailed the atmosphere. At first I was wondering how the difficulty could ramp effectively, but holy cow was that answered! I think it ramped perfectly. The only thing I think could add to this is if the music/audio got a bit more *spooky* when you started messing up. The eyes popping up are great, but combining that with some audio cues would make it even more scary. Overall, fantastic game! I really enjoyed it.

Summongrel by James_7777 2024-04-15T12:14:05Z

This was fun! I liked the graphics, sound effects, and music. This is an interesting "choose your own path" type of Monkey Ball game that fits the theme. One suggestion would be to be able to reset the level without needing to fall off of it. Nice job!

SaaS :: Summoning as a Service by HolySparks 2024-04-30T12:06:23Z

This was a really funny and great entry! The art was very well done. I think the difficulty was interesting given stuff like chicken and goats would move around. I thought the controls were a bit confusing at first, but I eventually got used to them. Overall, nice job!

Zoomancy by ugly_robot 2024-04-15T19:34:28Z

Great game! This one nails the theme, that's for sure. I loved how the knife would interact with Flayed as you moved it around. It was pretty intuitive.

A Short Summoning by Dmitry Mozgin 2024-04-16T00:20:23Z

The core mechanics are all there for a pretty compelling game. The only thing I was wishing for was that the ghosts would follow me around after I spawned them. I understand your decision to allow the enemies to go through walls. It would have been difficult to add pathing in just a couple days. Good work!

Cat Summoning Terminal by Patrick Pang 2024-04-20T14:28:36Z

Really great job with the art and visual style of the game! It's fairly simple in its current form, but I could see it expanding into something really interesting if given more creatures to summon and more options. Fulfilling orders is a nice game mechanic to keep things motivating. I get a little bit of a Papers, Please vibe from this game. Nice job!

Spellbook Shuffle by ice9 2024-04-16T12:32:01Z

This game was on point with the theme! I enjoyed the variety of enemies and what you could spawn. I suffered from tunnel vision on some of the lanes and some enemies would sneak by and attack a portal I wasn't paying attention to. Some sort of visual or audio indicator that a portal is under attack would go a long way, I think. I liked that you just have to know what combinations do what after a certain point. Nice work!

Demanager by satacat 2024-04-22T12:31:40Z

Neat game! The audio and sound effects were pretty great. I loved the art style as well. Like others have mentioned, I didn't quite understand the audio tape nor how to play at first. It's an interesting mechanic but a bit hard to get a grasp of initially. Overall, great game!

Pokoe The Forest Summoner's Day Off by Mavvy 2024-04-15T03:50:49Z

The music and sound to your game was great! Nice entry!

inner vacant- by She Wrote 2024-04-15T05:08:59Z

This was really great! The simple yet beautiful art, music, sound effects, and gameplay were awesome! The only critique I have is the movement was a bit confusing to me. It felt a bit numb, if that makes sense. I think if the game moved on its own it wouldn't change the feel at all. Using the scroll wheel to protect myself was certainly innovative, and I had a lot of fun playing that way. Nice game!

archmage by OldDog 2024-04-17T02:12:25Z

Well done! This was really fun to play. The difficulty ramp was a bit strange for me. It got really difficult on one level and I almost lost, but every other level seemed very easy. I'm not sure if that was just the summons I chose and upgrades I had or not. It would be nice if you could use hotkeys to summon as well. This is a really strong entry, though. I liked the small touches like the dudes jumping in celebration when finishing level. I'd love to play more of it! Nice job!

⸸ INVERSIO NEGOTIUM ⸸ by pierogo 2024-04-17T03:20:23Z

This was amazing! I just want more of it. I think it could easily be expanded into an awesome and addictive game. It nails the theme, and the mechanic is really unique. The visuals and audio were freaking awesome. Nice job!

Summon the Armada by Andreas Decker 2024-04-15T04:02:23Z

Nice game! I enjoyed playing it. I had some difficulty with the controls (and had one incident where a specific key combination closed my browser tab). I think if you implemented some kick back when hitting an asteroid it could make the game a bit more interesting, and perhaps make it less likely to get stuck. Otherwise, this was fun and I think it could be expanded in some pretty simple ways to make it even more fun.

Life of a skeleton by Pimeko 2024-04-15T23:51:39Z

I had a lot of fun with this! The pressure could really be on to hit the right keys when getting summoned. The dialog was definitely a crapshoot. Integrating some deeper pieces to find out which dialog chain may lead to success could add more breadth to it, but overall this was a great entry. Nice work!

Whispers of Lyra by milq 2024-04-21T17:35:31Z

This was really well done! I really enjoyed the music and sound effects. I had a hard time getting used to the controls, but I'm sure with time I would figure it out. Nice work!

See You Again by TomatoOmelet 2024-04-15T04:30:06Z

Wow, this hits the theme pretty well, that's for sure! One suggestions: some ambient music would go a long way to set the tone better.

Infernal Ascension by Cosmo8 2024-04-16T03:06:21Z

Wow, great job! The music, sound effects, art, and gameplay were all really well done. It even fit the theme really well! It didn't make sense to me for a bit that my cursor had to be on the screen for the summoning to make sense at first, but that's really my only critique. Great work!

Soul Purpose by maymay 2024-04-20T20:37:56Z

This was really well written! I do wish I had more time to read the customer complaints. Some of them were hilarious. I understand it being a game mechanic, though. Nice work!

SUPER NECROLORDS by Dorren 2024-04-16T00:13:49Z

This was very fitting for the theme. I had a lot of fun playing. The upgraded summons taking longer was a really good design decision, and giving the player to drop power was nice. There were more than a few instances I wish I could cancel a summon when the baddies started to swarm me. Overall, awesome job!

Summoner's Chess by Matt Ravenhall 2024-04-15T13:09:56Z

This was a very interesting take on the classic board games. I never thought about how chess and checkers would be combined, but now I know! It was enjoyable. I could see this expanding into something really fun. It wasn't obvious that clicking the points was how you summon, but after figuring that out it was a lot more fun. Nice work!

Summoner Under Attack by Ilari 2024-04-15T22:43:50Z

I love the simplicity and how consistent everything looked. This was also a very fun game to play. I agree it will be even more fun if you add more types of things to summon, but alas I understand the time constraints. Nice job!

Mass Move Minion Magic by obittner 2024-04-16T12:39:33Z

The style was well done, and I was jamming to the music the whole time. The SFX were great as well. Difficulty ramped up for me pretty quickly after a while. I think I definitely cheesed some puzzles, but maybe that's the point! Nice game!

Part-Time Familiar by MatthewDrake 2024-04-20T21:14:42Z

This was really well done and very well written! I was enthralled by the story. The one critique I have on the gameplay is that I thought there may be consequences of not serving one of the people summoning me for a while, but there wasn't (I ignored one that seemed particularly evil after their first summoning). That might add for at least an interesting tidbit of dialog, but your writing was so much better than anything I have ever done I'll leave it to the experts. Really well done!

Summon Glow by Ron88 2024-04-15T03:36:44Z

Glowy! Nice submission!

Bony Barricade by Philocode 2024-04-21T17:41:52Z

Nice game! I like the graphics. I did @roburab's winning strategy which ended up being way too easy, so perhaps some balancing needs to be done there, but this was fun nonetheless. Nice work!

Clumsy Witch by PekinaNebula48 2024-04-20T15:02:51Z

I loved the music and art design of this game! Really well done writing the descriptions of each item as well. I agree it would go a long way to make it easier to iterate different positions of items and not have to wait. Overall, nice job!

The Summoning by rcxa 2024-04-15T04:40:44Z

Oh dang, math! I'm too tired for this, haha! It was fun, though. The sound effects were really satisfying.

Astral Tale by Oznarox 2024-04-17T02:19:40Z

I loved the atmosphere and the music. I got some Ori vibes from it. Nice writing and interesting take on the theme. Good job!

From Dust by Redoxeide 2024-04-18T12:48:25Z

This was really well done! I'll admit, it was difficult for my tired brain to understand at first, but that's my fault and not yours. After I understood, the concept makes sense and was pretty fun. This is a great game, and feels very complete for a jam game. I think the idea could easily be expanded on for even more gameplay.

Summoning the bigger one by AlxJE 2024-04-15T03:31:31Z

I liked the concept of merging shapes together. Nice work!

Frame Wizards by AlezJL 2024-04-17T03:12:31Z

This was fun, I enjoyed stacking random things. The objectives were a bit tricky and resulted in me trying a lot of trial and error because it wasn't always clear what should do what (and I had to read your comment to figure out the last level), but overall this was a neat concept and a lot of fun to play with. Nice entry!

Campo by Braulio_JG 2024-04-15T22:31:00Z

I knew the veggies would rebel someday! That was a fun game. I did get stuck on some block edges and other beings (enemies and veggies) at times. It was easy to get unstuck, but it made the gameplay a bit clunky. All in all, this was a great entry. Nice job!

Temptation Summoner's Aprendice by Baluj 2024-04-17T02:25:54Z

I think the audio and visual style were really good in this game. The way the NPCs interacted with each other was interesting. As far as the gameplay goes, as others have said I didn't really understand what the goal was. I think it's too easy to just spam the traps with seemingly no consequences. Maybe if the player took some sort of damage if too many things were alive? Maybe there has to be some balance between humans/demons otherwise you get hurt in some way? Just some ideas, but I think for a quick Jam this game was really well done. Nice job!

SAKURA by ZekySky 2024-04-20T14:04:46Z

It was really helpful to have the color guide right in the middle of the screen to know what cards worked best against what colors. Good job on the artwork and the music. I found this pretty engaging. I don't think the AI never had anything but one of every color for the few rounds I tried. It would be nice if that were a bit more randomized. Overall, great job!

Imp Master by Owtuvammo 2024-04-16T00:04:48Z

Really great job on this! It was a good take on using the theme in a puzzle game. It was a bit tricky understanding how to get imps to interact with levers at first, but it wasn't all that difficult once I understood. I had a lot of fun playing this, and you did a good job of increasing level difficulty. Good work!

Cat Wizard by Lily Hubbard 2024-04-18T12:53:10Z

Cool game! The visuals and animations were well done. The gameplay is a unique and interesting concept, I like it. It could be a bit awkward summoning stuff with the same keys as the movement controls, but I think overtime I would get used to it. Overall, nice job!

To our hell by Vasulvius 2024-04-17T02:59:54Z

This was a cool twist on tower defense games. I really liked the art style and music. Adding some sound effects for the turrets and whatnot would go a long way to make things feel more satisfying. Some of my tower placements didn't seem that great (they wouldn't shoot) and I'm not sure why. I also didn't know why some towers wouldn't let me place them though I think I had enough money? Regardless, with just some small additions here and there I could find myself playing a game like this for a long time and losing myself in it. I appreciate your addition of a speedup. I used that to clear the level of cultists if the wave was over. Overall, really nice game! Good job!

Summon Swarm by Talopic 2024-04-15T23:26:19Z

This was cool. Drawing lines in a dynamic environment kept things really interesting. I sometimes got the same pattern a couple times in a row, but overall this was very fun. Good work!

Summon to Kill the Skeletons by Joua 2024-04-15T02:43:53Z

I love me a typing game! Great entry. I was jamming to the music the whole time.

Summoning Bridges by mertol 2024-04-15T23:16:24Z

It took me a bit to understand the mechanics of how building the platforms worked, but it was fun once I understood it. I think the player character was also a bit too slippery at times, but overall I found this to be an interesting take on the theme and fun game. Good work!

Summoner Showdown by Caz Creates Games 2024-04-15T12:20:16Z

For your first ever game jam, this was awesome! It was really satisfying to spawn a bunch of fighters and watch them take down the enemy. I think the base is really solid, and adding more spawnable types, sound effects, and music can quickly take things up a notch. Nice work!

Super Pal Summoner! by Meepster 2024-04-15T12:59:17Z

This was adorable and fun! I dove right in and was able to figure out what needed to be done pretty quickly, so props more making it intuitive! Bonus points for the bubbles toggle -- I loved it! Nice work!

Fill the Void by PotatoFinch 2024-04-15T12:37:06Z

What key was that color again!? Oh no, time is running out! Agh! This was really fun! I think your decision to make the player learn what key corresponds to what color was great. It added a unique challenge to the game. I pretty much agree with what others have already said: expanding the square ingredients into different shapes could be cool, the timer gets challenging super fast, and the sound effects are very satisfying.

Soul Pact by SesMiRe 2024-04-17T12:27:29Z

I think the atmosphere and music were pretty good on this game. The movement felt a bit slippery (where you coast quite a ways after releasing the input), and I didn't know what to do, really. I found a bottle and couple books I could open, but that's it. The music had a pretty harsh stop/start when it would loop back and play again as well. I think you are on to something, though, and I like your plan to make it a co-op game. It sounds like it would be fun! Keep up the good work!

They Ran Out Of Flying Spells So Now I Summon Platforms by Gaverion 2024-04-15T03:56:22Z

The platform summoning added a neat twist to a classic 3D platformer. I think this concept could be expanded upon to make a really interesting game! The core concept in your entry seems to be pretty good. I think it would go far if you added a small audio cue for the timing of jumps as well.

Akino's Dungeon by Risminator 2024-04-15T12:49:25Z

This was a challenging but rewarding game! Trying to get just a little bit further collecting more skulls kept me motivated to keep trying. With the game this difficult, it's nice to be able to restart immediately. Nice work!

Plaguebringers by zablas 2024-04-18T12:30:07Z

This was a fun idea! It had really satisfying gameplay. It took me a couple tries to get going, but I quickly had a broken run and got to a point where I could just spam rats constantly seemingly without consequence. I don't know if that was intended, but the difficulty started pretty difficult at first and then exploded into mass destruction. Because I was just spamming, I would often click on upgrades as they popped up without having a chance to read them. Overall, I had a lot of fun playing it. Nice job!

The Summoning by butterinabucket 2024-04-17T02:46:07Z

I'm not sure if I just didn't understand the concept or what, but I couldn't get anything to happen after placing the 3 candles in the marked spots and then walking in the pattern the instructions showed (there were only 3 candles at the start, right?). Other than that, the game had a really good atmosphere, and I do like the idea of it. If I was doing something wrong, let me know and I'll give it another shot.

Devilish Dates by PilotTK 2024-04-15T04:13:03Z

I also got stuck on the dialog, but I find the idea of your game freaking hilarious! I'd love to play more if you get around to fixing it. I enjoyed the audio as well. Nice work!

Burger Ritual by meylish 2024-04-21T17:51:59Z

Well done! The music and art on this were great. One mark against the music is that the replay loop could be a bit jarring, otherwise it was great! Like others, I got a bad ending and didn't really understand why. I was probably messing something up I didn't realize, but I could have sworn I did it all correctly. I also felt the summoning scrolls could be a bit clunky as you would have to unroll a scroll and then click on it again to get an ingredient to appear. Other than that, I thought it was a interesting take on the theme and a funny food making game. Nice job!

Blood Rite by LetsSnack 2024-04-17T11:55:08Z

This was really fun! I appreciated the tutorial explanations before diving into the gameplay. I kept trying to use my mouse to do things when I needed to remember to use the keyboard. The game looks great and the sounds were good. This certainly nails the theme. Nice job!

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Badabees by tanis 2024-10-12T23:19:03Z

The learning curve was pretty steep, but once I got the hang of it everything made sense and it was pretty addicting. I really like this concept. I think having the sequences somewhere viewable on screen would be nice for the first few minutes of gameplay. I died quite a bit while looking at what to do. Overall, nice work!

Tiny Creature Word by candlesan 2024-10-07T03:26:27Z

I won! I think this was a neat concept. It was really satisfying when I'd happen to get a couple words spelled out in a row. Nice job!

Snake Rolls by Mars 2024-10-10T03:53:23Z

I can't believe you got Taylor Swift to sing a custom song for your game, in a game jam no less! I played it. It was fun. I wish there were more. Good job.

Fry Quest by Togis 2024-10-22T16:08:58Z

Being born in Idaho, I have never seen someone so thoughtfully illustrate the life of a potato with such care and grace. I really enjoyed this short and sweet game. Really nice work on the puzzles, story, and sound effects. My one suggestion would be to allow the player to use both arrow keys and WASD. Other than that, I thought this was great. Great work!

Fry Quest by Togis 2024-10-22T16:09:04Z

(Oops! I didn't mean to leave two messages. I think the publish button glitched and posted my message twice. Sorry!)

Tiny Creature Dodger by pres2300 2024-10-07T02:59:46Z

Thanks for checking out my entry for LD56! I initially wanted to submit this to the compo, but my Saturday got taken up with family duties and I wasn't able to spend much time on this until Sunday. At any rate, I got a submission done! I wasn't quite sure what to do with the theme, so I just slapped this game together using Godot with some tiny creatures.

Some things I'd like to add if I continue working on this game (this is not an exhaustive list by any means): - Music - Animations - A better player character sprite (a smiley face? really?) - More unique level design (obstacles) - More enemy variety

Thanks for providing your feedback, and I look forward to playing all your entries as well!

Tiny Creature Dodger by pres2300 2024-10-10T14:34:28Z

@sorro thanks for the feedback! I think you’ve gotten the global high score so far. I really like your idea of bullet time. That would be a fun addition. Thanks for playing!

Heartlings by Flightless 2024-10-07T03:19:31Z

I really liked your art style! Overall the game had a good chill vibe to it. I found it super relaxing and reflective. Nice work!

Tiny Mushy Froggies by BitLuderRb7804Fr 2024-10-08T19:59:07Z

The power meter sure adds a unique twist to this frogger-like. You'd think it's a minor difference, but it's practically a completely different game with that. It made it pretty difficult, yet also a lot of fun. Nice job!

Small Critters by leorid 2024-10-12T23:40:22Z

I really enjoyed playing this! I liked moving an entire hoarde of creatures at once. It was a lot of fun, and I'd love to see more of it. One suggestion would be to add tiny health bars above enemies and the tiny creatures. Otherwise, well done!

Bug Bash by ZuhairGhias 2024-10-16T00:00:11Z

This was a really well done tower defense! I can definitely see this being worked on further for a full game with a lot more content (i.e. items, enemies, etc.). You worked the theme into it really well, and the game seemed to function perfectly. I agree with one of the other suggestions that mentioned a fast forward ability would be nice. Otherwise, nice job! This was great.

Metamorph by Renier 2024-10-15T23:51:37Z

I really enjoyed this! You made great use of the three different types and it felt like each had an equal share of the gameplay. I somehow managed to finish the game on the first try, so I don't know if the difficulty needs to be ramped up (I am no where near good at video games) or I just got extremely lucky, but at the very least I enjoyed what I played. Nice work!

Snail away by Thomas_Bringer 2024-10-09T04:25:15Z

This is a really complete and well done entry for the compo. I had a lot of fun playing it. It was super intuitive, the music and sound effects were great, and the gameplay was fun. When it was done I was sad because I wanted to play more! Nice job!

Flea Patrol by Sviborg 2024-10-07T23:32:40Z

I had a ton of fun playing this! The game was super intuitive, and I think you did a good job designing the levels. Nice work!

Aggrolotls by Zomk 2024-10-10T03:46:01Z

This was really addictive and fun! You could really get yourself into a pickle quick if you aren't careful. I got to level 20, and things got really crazy. Nice job!

Beachfront by DecadeDecaf 2024-10-10T04:09:43Z

So . . . and please don't get mad at me . . . it seems you can just leave things alone and your alien friends will figure it out. Well . . . on my very first game my only alien died before reproducing. I feel like I've failed worse than anything else. Please forgive me.

Tinymon by aligator 2024-10-23T21:40:23Z

Great work having an online element in a jam game! I think I ran into a bug on my first try where everything was placeholder art and the combat didn't work. My second try I actually got to play with my creation and see what others had done. Very cool!

Immune Invasion by goldenXD 2024-10-07T04:20:33Z

I don't think you could get any smaller than being a virus! I think I understood the mutation to be some sort of pattern matching? However, one time it just ended abruptly and I'm not sure if it timed out or I just did something wrong. You did a good job with the sound effects and the visuals. I bet this looks super nice on an OLED monitor. Nice job!

PogoCombo by Mavvy 2024-10-10T03:59:44Z

I couldn't get over how great everything looked! The UI was really impressive for something in the compo. This seems like a game that has a ton of potential with more content to it. Really nice work overall!

TinyTrip by Bassilij 2024-10-22T15:35:51Z

Great job with the music and making a game that is immediately fun to play! I really enjoyed it. I found it a bit too easy to just keep running into stuff when things got a bit too crazy to slow down, so some sort of penalty for that would be cool. Otherwise, great work!

tiny villages by OldDog 2024-10-10T04:24:47Z

I really enjoyed this! It was such a nicely scoped game for the compo. I'm guessing the God of War requires more than 10 wood and 50 gold because when I had that I wasn't able to purchase it, so maybe there's some UI stuff going on, but other than that I really enjoyed it! Nice job!

Creature's Place by vjta088x 2024-10-08T19:53:57Z

It took a bit for me to get it, but once I did I started cruising along. This is a cool take on a classic. Nice job!

Subpixeana by gdman 2024-10-07T03:08:32Z

This was a cool simple game with a neat art style. I have to admit, I'm not exactly sure what I was doing, but I somehow ended up with a "You Win!" message. Every time I shot the player character would get surrounded by other objects. Was that supposed to happen?

Like I said, I really liked the art. The music was pretty good, too. Nice work!

Burn EM‘ All by Lzic 2024-10-12T23:11:35Z

This was an interesting game! I think you did a great job with the mechanics. I really like the concept of death being certain but you can delay it. It was super clear to me which strategy would be the best, though. I think with some refinement that could become easier for the player. Overall, nice work!

Please Find Them by AdamLenglen 2024-10-07T23:40:53Z

This was really fun! Really great artwork, sounds, music, and game design! I have a really bad memory so I started to struggle once I got to the third level (that's my problem, though, not the game's). Nice work!

Kaiju Bash by MissingPixel 2024-10-07T04:01:50Z

This was fun! Short and sweet. It was simple but satisfying to play. Good work getting such a complete game done for the compo with music and sound effects. I would love to see more level variety and different things to destroy.

The Slushiest Slime by RapidDuck 2024-10-08T23:18:50Z

I had a lot of fun playing this! It took me a bit to realize I didn't need to fill the entire machine to make a slushy. I also didn't realize the storage rooms were color coded (which should have been obvious given the colors...oops). Once I had the gameplay down I had a lot of fun playing it. One thing that might be nice is a warning for the timer when it's close to rent due time. Otherwise, I had a fantastic time playing and would play it again. Good work!

Quantum Swarm by Damien Black 2024-10-12T04:22:40Z

It's really impressive that you were able to make something like this in such a short amount of time! As some others have pointed out, I wish the circuit didn't completely reset if I had to go back. Otherwise, this game has a lot of potential and I'd love to see you take it farther. Nice work!

Rat Game by Pachino55 2024-10-22T15:48:31Z

Fun game! I liked the art, music, and sound effects. The collision on some objects was a bit wonky, but overall I enjoyed playing this. Nice work!

Tiny Friends :) by daflamingpotato 2024-10-07T04:13:00Z

I got the keys to work, but quickly got stuck with what to do with the green hexagons. It seemed maybe I softlocked because I moved all the hexagons into a corner I couldn't get out of? Other than that, nice job on the movement, sound effects, and play style. It was a bit awkward at first, but I'm sure with time you could get used to it.

Cell Hell by VanLou 2024-10-12T04:27:13Z

This was fun! I noticed that diagonal movement was the way to go as it seemed to move faster than just x or y movement (not sure if that was intentional). I really liked the variety of enemies. The ones that try to predict movement really added some complexity. Nice job!

Fearless for Fears by byshla 2024-10-22T15:42:12Z

For beginners you did a great job! I liked the gameplay and different abilities. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but the heal only worked once for me. Otherwise I really enjoyed this. Nice work!

Anthill Defense by BroMakesGames 2024-10-09T04:17:54Z

Really nice job at getting an RTS game working during a game jam! I think this is the first one I've played. I liked the varied resources and upgrades you could get. I do wish I could select just one ant with a simple click rather than needing to click and drag each time, but overall I think this was really well done. Nice job!

Beyond Fear by Arsmih24 2024-10-09T04:05:41Z

I loved this art style! The sound effects and music were fitting. This is a great take on the theme and very fitting with Halloween around the corner. I agree with what others have said about the gameplay lacking a bit and the jump feeling somewhat clunky, but dang did it look great and create a mood! Well done!

The Germinator by Slippers 2024-10-10T03:31:46Z

Hey, nice work getting something done while your respiratory system was under attack that not only fit the theme, but also fit the theme of your illness. I really liked the textures and had a lot of fun, but I got pretty stuck at the fourth level with the small ramps. The controls were just too darn sensitive for me. I also found a glitch in the third level where I jumped out of bounds, but luckily I could just restart using the menu. Overall, great work!

Hexoban by PlasmaPuffs 2024-10-07T03:42:23Z

This seemed like a really solid entry, and the puzzles increased in difficulty at an even rate. I liked the music as well. This is one of those entries that I would love seeing more of in the future. I do wish the transitions and movement could be a bit faster, but overall this was really well done. Nice job!

Gnaw More! by 1finiteloop 2024-10-10T03:19:13Z

This was a fun and impressive entry for the compo! I only got up to 125. I noticed that it took me a couple tries to get the click registered to start the timer, but it wasn't too bad. The game does a really great job of making you decide your strategy and pay attention to multiple things at once. Nice work!

LD57 — Depths

Hyperspacedive by marudziik 2025-04-09T04:50:16Z

Wow, really great visuals! I was jamming to the tunes as well. This was a simple game but a lot of fun. Definitely gave me some nostalgia. Nice work!

Hadal by ColeSlaughter 2025-04-09T04:43:21Z

This had a super unique movement mechanic that took a minute to wrap my head around, but it was innovative and enjoyable to learn. I found it really satisfying when I could get into a flow state and make some progress quickly. Nice work!

Into the Depths by pres2300 2025-04-07T07:44:42Z

Thanks everyone for checking out my game! I pushed myself a bit on this one by trying to do some animations which I typically ignore for game jams. Here's a list of things I'd like to expand on if I were to take this game further: * Level variety * Music * More enemies * General polish

I wasn't able to polish things as much as I would like, so you can find some weird glitches. Sometimes enemies may pin you against the wall, or they'll get launched super high if you hit them with a rock. It's all part of the fun of doing a game jam!

Thanks again for checking my game out. I look forward to everyone's feedback, and I'll do my best to play and rate everyone's game!

Into the Depths by pres2300 2025-04-07T23:53:49Z

@mr-kvinter That's right, the final enemy (the big Demon) is immortal. You can slow it down, but you can't kill it! Thanks for your feedback and checking out my game!

Into the Depths by pres2300 2025-04-08T18:15:18Z

@blue-pin-studio the boss is immortal, and the intention is to escape back to the top. I realize now that that wasn’t super clear! Thanks for the feedback!

Depths Scraper by mr.kvinter 2025-04-08T00:12:43Z

This game has a great atmosphere! I found the text a bit hard to read at times. The small white font an a black background was making my tired eyes bug out. I didn't think to take a weapon at first and died by the first rat. Once I got the hang of things I really enjoyed this. I don't think much work needs to be done to expand this to a full game. Nice work!

DESCEND with CAUTION by LightningST 2025-04-21T14:29:45Z

This was super fun! I'm impressed you were able to submit this in time for the compo given how complete it feels! I really enjoyed the music, and the physics seemed to work really well. There were occasional times my momentum didn't feel like it made sense (like when I'd run head first into a wall and then try to jump or move towards the wall again), but overall this was great. Nice work!

A Memory of Her by ConradoClark 2025-04-07T08:22:27Z

Really nice work on the art, sound effects, and music! The game had a really nice atmosphere to it. My wife actually brought up the mind when I told her the theme was "Depths", and I'm really glad someone took it that way and made a game out of it! My brainpower while playing the game was pretty low due to wrapping up my own entry so I didn't get too far, but I had a lot of fun playing your game. Nice job!

Diggin' Deeper by gquibao 2025-04-09T04:38:35Z

This definitely gave me some rhythm game vibes like others have said. The art was cute as well. The gameplay was simple but I enjoyed playing it! Nice work!

Fusty Fake. Shame in the depths. by Sviborg 2025-04-09T04:32:39Z

I really enjoyed the art and the music. This was a short and sweet puzzle game. I liked how the appearance outside of the window changed as you turned the wheel to give the feeling of ascending from the depths. Nice job!

Ascend From Depths by gamurmakesgems 2025-04-09T04:55:56Z

Really nice work on the theme! I think the game was pretty intuitive and easy to play, but I found that whenever I got spotted it was pretty difficult to escape and I wouldn't have a chance. Perhaps after playing longer I'd get better upgrades to escape? Either way, I enjoyed playing it. Nice work!

Antz vs Plantz by Blue Pin Studio 2025-04-08T04:22:06Z

This was a really fun fusion of tower defense and pachinko! The sound effects and music were great, and it was really satisfying unlocking new depths and items. I pretty much lost control at level 6. Nice work!

Stealing the Captain's Family Jewels by Str8griz 2025-04-11T03:54:37Z

This was well done! I thought the mechanics were solid and made for every fun and interesting gameplay. It took me a couple of tries to finally beat it because I didn't realize going down was using all my oxygen at first, but after figuring that out and actually taking my time to refill at the checkpoints helped. Nice work!

Drill Down, Dog! by Mavvy 2025-04-07T08:12:34Z

The sound effects and animations made getting gold really satisfying. I think this game fits the theme really well. I think I'm really tired after rushing to get my entry done because I couldn't get enough money to buy the health in the shop, but I'll blame that on my own skill issue and not necessarily your game design. Nice work!

Call from the depths by pitivie 2025-04-10T04:24:14Z

I made it to the point with the big demon thing with four arms and horns, but I couldn't figure out what to do after that. I thought the mechanics of using your dead bodies to progress was really cool! The art style was great as well. Nice work!

Nike's House by Fireye 2025-04-11T03:40:34Z

Short and sweet! I really like the art style and music. I can absolutely see this turn into something more fleshed out with a deep story with what you have already. Nice job with what you have so far! Keep going!

Voyage au centre de la Terre by xpoho 2025-04-07T23:59:27Z

This is a really cool concept! Great job with the music and sound effects. I would like to get better at that myself. Nice job!

Miner TD by OldDog 2025-04-11T04:22:27Z

Great game that was pretty simple to understand! The mechanics seem to work well. I ran out of resources pretty fast and didn't have anything more to collect at round 3. Not sure if I just didn't optimize my use or what. Otherwise, nice work!

Tasty Holes by TailsGameDev 2025-04-08T04:11:29Z

You just can't beat tongue-based game play. Great work!

Rolling In The Deep by chybby 2025-04-09T05:18:53Z

Wow, this was great! I got some REPO/Lethal Company vibes with the visuals. I really appreciated that I was given hints if I got stuck. This was super well done, and I'm impressed you were able to make this game for a game jam. Nice work!

Hole Crawler by MSD 2025-04-07T23:47:54Z

I really liked the grayscale theme and artwork! I think some sound effects at minimum would serve to improve the experience a lot, but I understand it can be hard to get all these things added during the crunch. Overall I thought the game was fun and had a great flow. I'd like to see it expanded on. Nice job!

Helldriver 2 by oxnh 2025-04-07T23:52:15Z

Great job with the music and sound effects! I was jamming out. I ruined my pizza pretty quickly, but I kept going just to enjoy the music. Nice work!

Ludum Dare 57 Depth Of A Phrase by Beebster Games 2025-04-11T04:15:31Z

I always appreciate someone using SDL! I am really bad at these sorts of games, but it seemed to work well. The atmosphere and the music was nice. Good job!

Depths of Strength by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2025-04-11T04:05:20Z

This was great! I loved the elemental concept where you could train each arm separately and enemies also had different strengths and weaknesses. Nice work! Screenshot 2025-04-10 210421.png

Pogo-Lift by Patatje 2025-04-21T14:16:51Z

Nice work! I had a lot of fun with the mechanic of timing your attack on enemies. It was a bit difficult and I died a lot, but nice job!

Crabs in a Bucket by busisen 2025-04-08T00:06:03Z

Nice work on this! The gameplay was interesting and required a bit of strategy at the deeper levels. I found myself getting overwhelmed by bad crabs when I wasn't being smart. This is a very polished game for a short game jam. Nice job!

Deep Sea Squid Hero by runningopenloop 2025-04-10T04:33:01Z

Nice sound effects! Really awesome you made this with your kids. Nice work!

Rapid Eye Microgames by Tetracold 2025-04-09T05:07:38Z

Wow, way to essentially make a bunch of games for a game jam! I never thought I'd see a warioware like game in a jam, but here it is! This was a lot of fun and I appreciate the creativity. Nice job!

The Diggers by Travis Yilang Yan 2025-04-09T05:02:40Z

Pretty fun game and interesting concept! I enjoyed the funny sound effects. Nice job!

Undertetris by Rinevard 2025-04-08T03:59:02Z

What an awesome take on Tetris! This was a really great game. I could play this for a very long time. I think I found a bug. I was rotating on top of the l shape and then suddenly it clipped through the level. Other than that, this was great. Well done!

House Rules by engoneer 2025-04-10T00:30:20Z

I really liked the art style and the concept of random objects being used in a card game, however I really didn't understand what the objective was. I had to restart and carefully read the instructions at the beginning and still really didn't understand. I think I did win a round though? Even though I didn't really get it I think it has potential and, again, the art was great. Nice work!

Depths of Dreams by MasterFate 2025-04-21T14:22:08Z

This seems like a really good base for a super fun game! I immediately tested the boundaries and went off the level and fell to infinity by going as far right as I could, haha. I think the movement mechanics worked really well. I think you did a great job and should keep building on this concept! A little bit more things to in the game would greatly enhance it. Nice work!

Falling by ayuv 2025-04-10T00:36:24Z

Super innovative gameplay, and congrats on your first game jam! This was really well done, nice work!

LD58 — Collector

I always appreciate seeing an Unreal game done in game jams! I think the difficulty progression was implemented really well, and the sound bites were hilarious! Nice work!

Rastic Rush by commanderstitch 2025-10-06T01:53:49Z

This game was riot! So much visual stimulation and chaos. I loved it! Great job with the art, music, and SFX!

Forbidden Planet by tinykidtoo 2025-10-06T05:00:16Z

I wouldn't mind checking out the source code, but it seems I need to request access. Any way you could make it public?

Forbidden Planet by tinykidtoo 2025-10-06T23:50:35Z

Like others have said, that was super intense! I didn't expect so many things to go after me so quickly! I ran the game with the console open and noticed a bunch of errors fill it, but the game seemingly worked well and ran fine, so I'm not sure what that was about. The difficulty did ramp pretty quickly, but I really enjoyed the SFX, music, and graphics! Nice work!

1100 Dots by thingus 2025-10-08T03:32:25Z

Haha, I was thinking "wow, this is easy" until other shapes showed up and things started moving! Really interesting and addicting game. Fairly simple in the current stage, but it works! Nice job!

Conway's Garden by mramaizng 2025-10-06T21:27:43Z

I grew a BUNCH of carrots, and imagine my surprise when a tomato sprouted up! I think you're right that all the bones are there to make a cool game. Where you got to is still really impressive for tinkering with a new-to-you language during the jam. Nice work!

Pumpkin Bumpkin by automatonvx 2025-10-13T03:58:20Z

This was a really solid platformer entry! As others have said, it was pretty tedious to do the entire level over again if you ever died, but I understand the classics worked that way (and I'm also just not very good at them). Overall, the music and SFX were really great and I'm impressed you got them done in the compo! Nice work!

Lepidopterology Extreme by mahalis 2025-10-10T23:21:40Z

Nice job with the animations and sound effects! I enjoyed collecting butterflies. Like others have said, the butterflies flying over the wall made things difficult at times. Otherwise, nice job!

Normal Parts by Linus Lindberg 2025-10-09T04:11:45Z

Wow, that definitely had a creepy vibe to it, but it was really well done. I had a hard time getting past the 99% door, but that might just be because I, myself, I am not very normal. Nice work!

Coin Collector by kassanu 2025-10-06T00:54:34Z

Screenshot 2025-10-05 174807.png

I noticed an interesting visual glitch of the coin type descriptions when I played, but the game seemed to work properly and I was able to pickup, examine, and sort the coins. Nice work!

Derailed by rynti 2025-10-09T03:47:18Z

Well that was really satisfying! I was surprised you were able to get the people and cars to mostly navigate around normally. At one point I had a police car stuck to the end of my tram that made it really slow to move, but I eventually shook it off. It'd be really fun if you get trams with more than two cars. Overall, really nice job!

Forest of the magic mushrooms by jojocanard 2025-10-10T05:08:27Z

I'm impressed you did this in react! I really enjoyed figuring our the effect each mushroom had and strategizing from that. Nice work!

LD58 - Space Crystals by Endurion 2025-10-06T05:08:50Z

Pretty cool to make a C64 game! I had a hard time getting used to the controls and switching drone control and being able to fire. I'm sure with practice I would get better, but it was quite a challenge! Overall, nice work!

Grand Collector by Alex Mulkerrin 2025-10-06T23:57:45Z

I really enjoyed this! The graphics and dialog were well done! I think some overworld music would go a long way to add to the atmosphere, but overall good work!

Hop, Skip, Jump by Jeremy Ryan 2025-10-24T22:37:23Z

Great level design! I think the difficulty progression was well done, too. Nice work!

Dragon Hoard by pres2300 2025-10-05T21:53:13Z

Thank you so much for checking out my game! I've done some LD jams in the past, but this is my first time making the compo deadline! The game accomplishes what I set out to do, but there's some obvious improvements I wouldn't mind making like different enemies, power ups, maybe adding some tower defense aspects to it, etc. Let me know what you think!

Dragon Hoard by pres2300 2025-10-06T01:14:52Z

@immortalfox haha, believe it or not Larvitar wasn't a design inspiration for my dragon, but I can see the resemblance! Thanks for playing!

Dragon Hoard by pres2300 2025-10-06T01:59:14Z

@camcomduck oh oops! Thanks for letting me know! I waffled on allowing the full screen button or not, so perhaps I should just disable it for now.

Dragon Hoard by pres2300 2025-10-09T03:49:33Z

@ira-baciu Glad you liked the game! I have no idea what caused that error on the site, but it's fixed now. Thanks for pointing it out!

Voltaic Harvest by dxk2294 2025-10-07T05:00:42Z

Wow, this felt like a fully polished game developed over a long time! Nice work getting it done during a jam!

Mushroom! by Tim Eriksen 2025-10-08T03:18:28Z

I really didn't expect the picking mechanic to be as fun as it was! I played this a lot longer than I expected because of that. Great game!

Knock-N-Treat by Steven Garberg 2025-10-09T03:54:21Z

Pretty good vibe going around and collecting candy. I was confused at first because I used WASD to move, and couldn't get the "trick or treat" to work until I used the arrow keys. Otherwise, nice work! I enjoyed playing it!

Having Fun Yet? by NoahRo 2025-10-09T05:09:15Z

Wow, great SFX, VFX, and gameplay! I really liked the idea of having to go and collect your ammo after shooting it. I got to a point where my ammo got surrounded and I just had to run away. Nice work!

The Crossing by IndigoWolf 2025-10-07T13:00:13Z

Pretty interesting take on the Frogger concept. It definitely complicates things when you have to watch 3 different lanes at once. I enjoyed the challenge. Nice work!

Clear Skies by Nash 2025-10-06T15:04:50Z

This was really enjoyable and relaxing to play! It took me a minute to figure out what sort of scale the constellations should be (I started going WAY to big), but after that I was doing pretty well and happily searching for more. The book is a really nice aspect with notable stars in certain constellations. Nice work!

Siege Crawler by Sharky3188 2025-10-07T04:14:37Z

I greatly enjoyed this and spent WAY longer playing it than I expected. I loved the idea of a moving and upgradeable machine you have to defend. The gameplay worked really well and was super addicting. I only wish there were some more information about what each upgrade did. I was upgrading stuff like crazy but didn't really understand what it was doing, so it was difficult to know what I should be doing. Otherwise, I had a great time playing the game. Nice work!

Screenshot 2025-10-06 211242.png

Crescendum by karpopper 2025-10-07T05:06:04Z

I really enjoyed the simple pixel art and vibe of the game! I found the buff mechanic to be a bit non-intuitive, but I think that's mostly just me not being used to the controls. Nice work!

Spore Scout by Trusty 2025-10-13T23:39:50Z

10/10 no notes

Coal Lector by Avhatar 2025-10-06T01:41:35Z

Great job with the SFX, art style, lighting, and animation! I really enjoyed it. The one thing I wish I could do is rotate the camera around (if there's a way to do this it either didn't work or I couldn't figure it out). Otherwise, it's tricky to pick up things on the ground that fall behind other things. Nice work!

Flight Terminal Assistant by Benjamin Gare 2025-10-08T03:28:12Z

Seemed to work well! Definitely gave me some Papers, Please vibes. Making something with a nice game loop at such a low level is certainly impressive. Nice work!

Petals by AppoxGames 2025-10-06T00:39:58Z

Took a minute for my tired brain to grasp it, but once I did it was really nice to get into the zone and chain some flowers together. Zen mode is also very appreciated. Nice work!

Greg gathers ghosts because that's what he loves the most by Blue Pin Studio 2025-10-09T04:31:03Z

I really don't have much to say other than this really hit all the marks! The level difficulty went up linearly and didn't jump too hard, but it definitely went from easy to having to really think about my movement! I wouldn't have been surprised to hear that was a complete game developed and released, so the fact it was for a game jam is really impressive. If I had to really dig and search for something to critique, it would be that the music could have a bit more variety. Perhaps having something that builds more as time goes on or you move through the levels akin to Bit Trip Runner. That's really digging, though. I thought this was excellent overall. Nice work!

Gotta Cat 'em All by HolySparks 2025-10-07T13:17:55Z

This was a really chill game to play and relax with! I collected all 3 cats but the game let me keep exploring. I'm not sure if there was anything else I could do, but it was nice to keep exploring a bit. I liked the music, art style, and SFX. Nice work!

Mr. Fungi by Kupnu4 2025-10-10T23:49:28Z

I couldn't get enough of how wiggly Mr. Fungi was! This was a really chill and adorable game. The animations, ambient music, SFX, and gameplay were all really well done. The scaling of upgrades and progression seemed really polished. Nice work!

Unholy Black Hole by bereg 2025-10-07T03:46:36Z

This was really fun and satisfying to play! I liked the graphics, SFX, and music. I got the population down to 23 before I ran out of money and the population stopped moving much. Great entry!

Pollen Pusher by Quail Weaver 2025-10-06T02:48:59Z

Great job designing this game! The controls took me a minute to get used to, but that's probably just because my brain is tired from the jam. I appreciated that you had a key in the corner of the screen. This was a really great puzzle game, well done!

Shiny things by DmitryGalias 2025-10-10T04:52:57Z

The controls were pretty unique and took a while to get used to, but I had some fun after I got a feel for it. Nice job!

Reap What You Road by ugly_robot 2025-10-10T04:59:19Z

This was a really solid entry with a unique idea! Way to hustle and get things working. I can imagine this took some time to get right and am impressed you submitted it for the compo! I had fun watching the day go by and the people and cars collide together. Again, really nice work!

snake-collector by nekowei 2025-10-10T05:03:00Z

I definitely didn't expect the switch to 3D and having multiple layers of the level to collect things from. That was an impressive surprise! It gave the classic game a really unique twist. Nice work!

Can you give me a hand gesture? by She Wrote 2025-10-06T14:48:43Z

I really enjoyed the art style, music, and sound effects! My only minor critiques would be that I had a hard time clicking on the thumb without activating the index finger, and right at the end when I found the last gesture (admittedly at this point I was just spamming different configurations until one worked) it immediately went to the "Done!" screen without me being able to see what I actually found. Other than that, this is a really solid, intuitive, and beautiful game! Nice work!

Predincament by Threeli 2025-10-06T04:10:19Z

You did a really great job with the art and the basic gameplay! I think on my first run I was able to collect almost every bug except for one. The pixel art and animations seem really polished. Well done!

Open Collector by Void4 2025-10-07T04:37:25Z

Finally, a game that gets the blink mechanic right! I was wondering if someone would take the electronics collector approach to the theme, and I'm glad you went with that! I enjoyed this. Pretty sure on my first attempt I soft locked myself by opening one of the cloud (at least I think it's a cloud?) doors when I didn't have to, wasting that key. Other than that, I had fun collecting everything. Nice work!

Soul collector! by Noobman64 2025-10-07T00:22:30Z

I am the soul collector! I really enjoyed running around and collecting souls of various creatures. I noticed health wasn't really a concern for me, but I was careful to dodge any arrows that came my way. I think you hit on all the notes for feedback I would give. It would be nice to have a bit more overall feedback when getting souls or getting hit yourself, but I understand the time crunch!

On that, I'm not an expert at it myself but I always try to scope out a game idea that has a simple enough concept that the basic game loop should be "easy" to implement. Once that's done, I'll spend time on adding music, animation, sound effects, more items or levels, etc. It doesn't always work well, but I set my one goal as just having something playable and any extra time after that is spent on "sugar". Music is definitely one of the last things that gets added that I skip out on. It's all part of the fun of doing a game jam to me! Again, nice work on your game!

1 of 8,031,810,176 by torte478 2025-10-09T03:31:07Z

The story really tug at my heart strings. This was incredibly well done! I enjoyed every second of it.

Blossom Fox by Patatje 2025-10-10T23:25:33Z

I enjoyed this! It was a bit difficult to control as the movement controls were the same as the claw controls, so I often didn't get moving in the direction I wanted to. Otherwise, I enjoyed trying to get flowers and keep my hunger at bay. Nice work!

Goblin Goopmaxxing by NuiN 2025-10-09T04:46:31Z

Wow, this felt really polished and the gameplay was really fun! I really enjoyed figuring out what effects various things would have around the room, but then once you figured everything out you'd have to figure out the correct order to apply certain effects which kept things interesting. Very impressive and well done!

Far Fetch by bad_fetus 2025-10-06T03:15:14Z

This was really satisfying to play! Nice job with SFX and music. I didn't realize at first that right click was how to use items until I brought up the controls menu, so I struggled until I figured that out on the second level. I also had to lower the sensitivity as much as possible, I just don't have the precise movement ability of the default setting, haha. I'm really happy you added those settings. Really well done!

Butterfly Gathering by UniOwl 2025-10-17T03:54:45Z

I really enjoyed the art style and music of this game. It gave it a really chill vibe. Like others have said, after unlocking on the flowers and planting everywhere it just sort of becomes a mindless clicking game. That said, it's very well done. Nice work!

Sticky Turtles! by Sevansevan 2025-10-20T23:29:37Z

Definitely difficult! Really simple and well made, though. Nice work!

Golden Starfruit by Kamizenki 2025-10-07T04:51:56Z

Nice job putting this together! I found a bug where I could run off screen and the game kept going, but other than that I enjoyed playing it. Good work!

Interstellar Collector by Baluj 2025-10-09T03:39:47Z

Like others have pointed out, the ship was a bit hard to control and it was difficult to collect some species. I still enjoyed exploring around in space, though. Impressive that you were able to make that during a game jam. Nice work!

Collector's Coast by Liquid 2025-10-17T03:46:24Z

This was really fun! It was well built and pretty chill to play. I collected all the artifacts. After a while I just had to wait around for the ships to go explore. I also wish there were shortcut keys for the different buildings and actions. Otherwise, this was super impressive and well made for the Compo. Well done!

Fluff 'n Roll by CamComDuck 2025-10-06T02:34:23Z

I really enjoyed the challenge this posed while remaining achievable. I had some difficulty getting a couple different colored sheep to separate, but that was all part of the fun! Nice work!

Afterlife Debt Collector by jscommander 2025-10-10T04:46:43Z

This was a really nice game with a fun story, visuals, and sound effects! I really liked the mechanic of different body parts giving the player different abilities. I was able to basically run past everything and finish the final level in a few seconds. Not sure if that was intentional, but it seemed I skipped a lot of the intended challenge put there. Other than that, really nice job!

Swarm Surge by Rinevard 2025-10-06T03:03:59Z

This was fun! I enjoyed the art style, music, and SFX. I wish I had a way to better get my swarm to attack the leader rather than just what was closest so I had a better chance of collecting more minions, but overall I had fun. Nice job!

FluxBeam by ImmortalFox 2025-10-06T01:13:10Z

Really great atmosphere going on here, and a chill way to implement the theme! It was very maze like, and I struggled a bit to find the final path near the grey sphere, but I enjoyed it enough to keep exploring and eventually found it. Perhaps something that helps guide the player to the exit would be a nice addition once all the spheres/souls are collected. Nice work!

Banana Craze by InfernalWolf08 2025-10-06T04:44:53Z

Nice job! The basic gameplay seemed to work well, but I ran into an issue when I defeated a leopard and couldn't move past it, leaving me stuck in the maze.

Screenshot 2025-10-05 214126.png

The Grande Concoction by Artificer 2025-10-09T04:18:51Z

I don't really have anything to add to what others have said, but I do think this was impressive to put together for the compo! Nice work!

GHARK - Soul Collector by yaz_protzz 2025-10-06T04:21:48Z

Very cool turn based game! I found I had to use the hotkeys to select Attack or Skills and couldn't click on them on the screen, but that was really the only gameplay problem I found. I thought the SFX were great, the ambient music was really fitting, and the graphics were superb! Oh, and I really enjoyed playing it overall! Nice job!

Roots of Sorrow by Solvenoff 2025-10-24T22:28:21Z

Definitely spooky! I mostly agree with what others have said about wanting hints on where the next object to collect would be, the flashing symbols being a bit much towards the end, etc. However, it was engaging enough that I played to completion and think you absolutely nailed the atmosphere. Nice work!

Harvest of Wyrd by Arkadi Voronchenko 2025-10-24T14:56:57Z

As others have said, this had a very nice art style! There was some weird interactions that didn't make a lot of sense, like getting stuck on some plant geometry (I'm guessing), but I think the core of a really nice game is there and the team did a great job. Nice work!

EMBERS WILDFIRE by einfach 2025-10-09T04:57:10Z

This was a really good way to tell a story and share some facts of life that people may not other realize. I think the visual style during the cutscenes and text portions was really well done, but sometimes the text went by way too fast for me to read the whole thing. The gameplay was pretty basic but seemed to work as it should without issue. Overall, nice job!

Goblin Lord's Dream by Ira Baciu 2025-10-07T00:12:15Z

Nice job getting three games in one! The ghost game was very beautiful with a nice ambience. I think I got the achievement too early, though? I hadn't collected everything yet when it popped up. Also, the level geometry was pretty sticky and I'd often get stuck to the side of it if I was moving in that direction. The space blob game was really difficult until I realized you can just leave the area and chill in the outskirts (which probably shouldn't be doable? not sure). The potion game had some pretty funny dialog. Great visuals, SFX, and music all around. Really amazing work getting all this packed in during the jam! Well done!

Numismatic by David Sheffield 2025-10-06T00:28:04Z

Dude, nice work! I got a little too excited about buying coins that I ended up not being able to bid on anything very well! I definitely appreciate the legend in the lower right that explains building colors and controls. It's super helpful. Well done!

Mister H. by egor.ae_game 2025-10-06T02:12:08Z

I'm not sure if there was a bug or I just didn't search well enough, but I just couldn't figure out what to do after finding the family cemetery. I noticed the time stayed at 1:23 but not sure that was part of it. My notebook said to come back during a full moon but I didn't know what to do next. Other than that, I think the lighting and atmosphere were really well done along with the music (the music did stop after a bit, so a loop would be nice). Overall, nice entry!

LD 58: Loot Collector by tweekus 2025-10-06T04:56:09Z

Good job on your first entry, and welcome to the world of game jams! I hope you continue to participate in future jams. I think you did a good job and the game mechanics worked well enough. The beginning of the game was bit weird for me because the "Get to work" message wouldn't go away until I pressed the button the first time. Also, it would be nice to add some elements that didn't leave the success outcome of the game completely up to chance. I ended up collecting stuff I didn't need just because it wasn't dropping what I needed. Otherwise, the gameplay loop and mechanics seemed to work which is a great success and something to be proud of. Nice job!

Nut Collector by Maxwe59 2025-10-07T04:20:20Z

This was a fun little game! It took me a while to understand that the nut counter wasn't how many I was carrying but what I had deposited. It would be nice to know how many I currently had. Otherwise, I enjoyed the music, SFX, and art! That dang snake bested me many times, so I appreciated the ability to quickly restart. Great work!

LD59 — Signal

DIG_POD by a333 2026-04-21T05:16:13Z

This was really well done, and I played it through to the end and got all the upgrades! The progression felt really well balanced. The one small critique I have is the damage taken from bouncing off walls seemed pretty unforgiving at times. That said, it didn't seem to be that much of an issue, and I still had a blast playing this. Nice work!

Ghost Pulse by thelasttankmage 2026-04-23T22:25:31Z

I think what you have done is really well made. The visual effects of the pulse are great. Nice job!

Coherence by bentglasstube 2026-04-27T04:33:01Z

Good job all around! The levels seemed to have a nice increase in difficulty for each one. The way you implemented a timer with an increasingly fuzzy sine wave is a cool idea. I liked the SFX and "heartbeat" that added some stress to getting the puzzles done on time. Nice work!

Trail Signal by uvwar 2026-04-21T04:52:24Z

Absolutely love this! I had a lot of fun playing around with different tracks and different sounds. I appreciate that there was plenty of space to experiment with different designs. The only thing I felt was missing was a way to erase tracks or balls (did I just miss that?). Overall, nice work!

TRAPTOMB by fullmontis 2026-04-21T04:21:29Z

FYI - I could not get this game to work properly on Firefox on Linux for some reason. The door on the first level just does not appear. I tried Firefox on macOS and everything seemed to be fine.

After the weird issue on Linux got put aside, I really enjoyed the mechanics of this game. It's pretty unique, and timing the jumps with the signals right added a unique challenge. Nice work!

RESPECT by LoHii 2026-04-27T23:42:56Z

Very nice gameplay! It's cool that you can see the ghosts of what others have done. My only critique on the movement is the fixed distance of the jump and how it doesn't carry the same momentum. It made jumping some gaps a bit tricky. Otherwise, really nice work! Loved the SFX!

In the Crib by ruthiepee 2026-04-23T22:42:04Z

> This is arguably a jam submission but since I also created the baby from scratch I’m counting it as compo.

I'll allow it! I understand how parental duties can make doing a game jam even more of a crunch, so this was a pretty impressive entry for what you got done. I love the art, SFX, and music. I got somewhere around 72% but just couldn't get any better. Having a toddler myself, I find this to be very realistic as he can be quite picky, haha.

Hive and Honey Horticulture by Sarah 2026-04-22T04:45:05Z

This was a really great and polished game! I can't believe you managed to not only make a game in a weekend, but then also added two mini games! I really enjoyed all the upgrade options and can see myself spending a lot of time on this game. Nice work!

Ludum Dare 59 - Cell The Signal by baknik 2026-04-21T21:02:45Z

Simple game, but fun concept! I don't have much to add from what others have said, but I enjoyed playing your game. Nice work!

Switch Happens by Zettelkasten 2026-04-30T23:21:58Z

It's amazing how quickly this gets complicated. The tutorial was nice to understand what to do. I agree with what someone else said about having one train crash causing a restart being a bit brutal, but overall I think this was very well done. Nice work!

Sacred Bleorgan Artifacts by marudziik 2026-04-20T20:57:14Z

Always enjoy a PICO-8 game! I loved the dialogue and gameplay. Sometimes it seemed like humans would spawn right on top of me which always resulted in damage, but other than that I really enjoyed this. Nice work!

Multiplayer Signal by mdotedot 2026-04-20T23:12:38Z

This was an interesting game, and I think it's the first multiplayer game I've seen in a jam! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to play multiplayer, but the game still seemed to work on its own. I think I soft locked the second level by putting the A into a corner I could no longer push it. Maybe multiplayer would help with this? At any rate, interesting concept. Nice work!

Signal Circuits by Alex Mulkerrin 2026-04-20T16:04:47Z

Pretty cool game, and a fun way to learn about logic gates! It took me a bit to get used to the mechanics. I kept dragging the wire "onto" the component I wanted it to connect to, but this made it overwrite that component. All you have to do is drag the wire next to the component. I found myself trying ctrl+z out of habit a couple times. Overall, nice entry and great work!

Sound Signals by pres2300 2026-04-20T16:34:11Z

@mcgank @torte478 Thanks for playing!

@debugman18 @yueyao-wang @alex-mulkerrin I'm glad you all enjoyed the concept! It was a thought I came up with having recently improperly used Godot's spatial audio nodes and wondering "why the heck is sound only coming from this direction?" When the theme came up as "Signal", I wanted to utilize those nodes to have the player search for items as it was fresh in my memory. Thanks for playing!

Sound Signals by pres2300 2026-04-23T20:46:52Z

@weglove try focus mode with ‘F’! Thanks for playing!

Sound Signals by pres2300 2026-04-27T23:44:00Z

@lohii Thanks for the tip about the camera! I will give that a shot and keep that in mind for future games.

Sound Signals by pres2300 2026-05-03T04:13:38Z

@andriybyelikov Thanks for the feedback! It certainly wasn't my intention to have the beeping of focus mode be too loud. I did develop the game using headphones and didn't notice that on my end, but perhaps it could be a bit better balanced. I also have overall volume control in the settings menu.

n 0 m i n a l by 0x0961h 2026-04-23T22:22:49Z

Haha, as some others have said, I was BAD at this! It was really well implemented and had a great ambience to it, though. Good story telling as well. Nice work!

Petalgrams by chelC 2026-04-21T23:56:01Z

Great job on the art! I really appreciate the effort put into to doing what you did (just read the post on how things were done). I really enjoyed this and like the concept. It fits the theme well. I definitely struggled interpreting what customers wanted after the first level, but I still enjoyed trying. Great work!

Wi-Fix It by DaniSerranu 2026-04-23T04:40:07Z

This was great! The platforming felt really refined and accurate. The art, SFX, and progression of difficulty level to level was really well done. I'm really glad the arrow keys worked (aside from WASD) because I have a super hard time entering all inputs with just one hand, so that was very appreciated. Nice work!

Cadence of Glob by Orjan 2026-04-21T23:37:15Z

Wow, this was amazing! This is one of the most polished jam games I've ever played. I would pay real money for something like this. I really loved the story and quirky characters. I kicked the ball 51 times. In hindsight, I wish I had kicked it more . . .

Also, I really enjoy rhythm games. Great work!

Earth Assimilation Readiness Protocol by PurpledArtFrog 2026-04-21T20:46:58Z

Definitely an interesting concept, and I can see what you were going for, but I'm not quite sure I understood. Like others have said, maybe a bit more information or a tutorial would be very helpful.

Did you make the music that plays with it? Sounds great!

Aye Aye, Can't See! by Avhatar 2026-04-22T20:29:52Z

I really enjoyed playing this! The subtle SFX and visuals were really well done. I was not very good at the controls and switching between port and starboard, but that's one of those things that just takes time to get used to with a unique control scheme. I really enjoyed playing this and could spend a lot of time playing more of it. Nice work!

Red Light Green Light by beats 2026-04-21T04:27:21Z

Classic and simple! Well done!

Cave Man Conversations by SirLich 2026-04-25T04:47:21Z

Wow, well done! And surprisingly sad . . . poor Grog! I was really hoping I'd run across someone doing a game about smoke signals. This was implemented really well! The only thing I really struggled with was that some symbols could be used for more than one word (i.e. "make" and "know"). The hints came in handy with that, though, otherwise I'd probably be stuck forever as my brain is tired and not think good. Nice work!

Dracula 2: The Bloodening of Neo London by Guardaro 2026-04-22T04:19:22Z

I did it! I really enjoyed this. It took a bit to get used to the squirly controls, but it was manageable after a bit of practice. Good job on the music and voice lines! I found the best strategy was to run like heck to find ammo (appreciate the "signal" that helps) and then wait for dracula to come to you, shoot, run like heck some more. Is the idea that you are stealing a gun from a helicopter? I was a bit confused by how those were the ammo, haha. Regardless, nice job!

Badcaster Shneebly by Blue Pin Studio 2026-04-22T04:06:11Z

I really like the art, music, and SFX! I also like the gameplay, but I think I ran into a bug? The first time I played, I couldn't get the happiness meter to go down at all. I refreshed the page and the second time playing it started to work how I would expect. It seemed to come back on the second level though, unfortunately. I also tried to download the Linux build to see if it was just a web build issue, but itch has flagged the page and wouldn't let me download...

Other than those strange issues, I really like what you're going for. Nice work!

Bulletproof Broadcast by ugly_robot 2026-04-24T23:56:11Z

This was really well executed (heh) and very complete! You managed to get quite a bit done in a compo (very surprised there was a tutorial, SFX, music, etc.). Nice work!

Data Routing by StormSword 2026-04-20T16:49:07Z

This was a really cool concept for the theme! As others have said, it was pretty challenging. I think something that visualizes what input you've entered would be helpful. I was also a bit thrown off by the metronome not matching the music exactly. Overall, the visuals and music were great and I enjoyed playing your game. Nice work!

Numbus Crossing by Mavvy 2026-04-20T16:27:24Z

Loved the sprites and audio! The later stages got pretty crazy having to time crossings just right.

To walk on Strange Roads? by alyd asmar 2026-04-21T17:11:35Z

This was a really interesting game! Referring back to the Shaper Dictionary was pretty fun, though I'm not sure I entirely understood how to properly translate things (this may be a me problem, not an issue with the game). I did manage to get close enough most times that I could figure out what needed to be done. I also really liked the spatial audio when searching around, having done something similar in my game :D Nice work!

packet_loss by NikaZ 2026-04-26T00:27:29Z

Great vibes! It was fairly simple gameplay but worked well and fit the scope of the jam. Nice work!

Meowta Force by Yucong 2026-04-21T20:35:14Z

Great job on the art and SFX! I think this is the first jam game I've played that required voice commands, so that was very innovative. Nice work!

Man On Fire by debugman18 2026-04-20T16:13:22Z

Really enjoyed the music and SFX! I agree mostly with what others have said. I wanted to be able to turn the camera and sometimes what to do next wasn't all that clear (I had to go backwards a lot, not being able to see where I was going). Overall, the art and music were great! The story was also interesting and kept me going. Nice work!

Hidden Messages by Noobman64 2026-04-20T18:14:25Z

Absolutely love this concept and it fits the theme so well! Definitely understand how things can get left out in the time constraints of a jam, but you ended up with is still fun and interesting! Great work!

V.P.N. by torte478 2026-04-20T15:46:12Z

This was really unique! I didn't expect to have to defend my signal paths by taking them down and reconstructing them. That's a cool mechanic. The vibe upgrade was top notch. Well done!

Cleared for Chaos by Reed Molbak 2026-04-22T04:31:04Z

This is a great compo game and a ton of fun! I could spend a lot of time trying to optimize this. At one point I completely forgot about departing flights, which got me, haha. Nice work!

Plume Tactics by WeirdBitGames 2026-04-25T04:53:49Z

Glad to see another smoke signal game (this is the second I've found thus far)! I really like the art style and SFX. It's a great idea that I think could be easily expanded on for more complex gameplay. Nice work!

Signomaly by Constance 2026-04-21T05:33:49Z

I really like the concept of this, and think the puzzles are nicely challenging! I did get stuck and have to restart a couple times because I would pick up an object I didn't need yet and could not drop it (pressing 'E' had no effect) without using it. I wasn't able to pick up other objects either. If this was just me being a dumb dumb let me know and I'll play the game again. I think this has a lot of potential!

Signomaly by Constance 2026-04-21T05:55:16Z

@kamizenki Q! Thanks! I will definitely play the game again because I want to play more of it.

Pandemic Purifier by Zazzar 2026-04-21T17:18:26Z

This was a neat concept! I forgot to use my scanner at first and was just randomly trying colors until the little slimes would take damage. The scanner sure made things a lot more clear. Nice work!

Funnel World by andriybyelikov 2026-04-25T04:37:10Z

I don't have much to add to what others have said. I had to use @t-c's spoilers to figure things out because I, too, was convinced the sphere, blades of grass, and locked torch had something to do with the puzzle. The second room was almost overly easy after that. The camera controls were also very awkward.

I do think this was a very good looking game, and you did great on the lighting. My GPU fans were spinning up from this, haha. Nice work on that!

Sci-Null Runner by WeGlove 2026-04-23T22:08:13Z

Nice take on a runner game with the theme! Like others have said, sometimes the buttons weren't all that intuitive. Otherwise, I like the concept. Nice job!

Farwatch by Liquid 2026-04-20T20:16:25Z

As others have said, very well done and impressive getting this done for the compo! My few nitpicks are the pathing could use some work (definitely didn't expect perfection in 48 hours) and the workers seem to have issues changing roles. I had a couple switch to harvesting at a farm, and they didn't actually produce anything (even though their animation would suggest they were) until I offloaded whatever resource they had previously first. Otherwise, this was incredibly impressive and very well done. Nice work!

Trash Friends by Axodo 2026-04-21T17:28:12Z

Really liked the art and the puzzles! Great story telling as well. Nice job!

Fresneltic by Shoalmuse 2026-05-03T04:41:42Z

I really enjoyed this concept! My one nitpick would be that sometimes I had my beam focused on one ship, I would enter a code, the code would get registered, then I'd switch the beam to a different ship and the instruction would get assigned to the new ship rather than the intended ship. I think if the code registered immediately to the ship the beam is on that would feel a bit more intuitive, but maybe I'm just impatient. Otherwise, nice work!

HAYWIRE by hirqshi 2026-04-24T02:24:17Z

Really cool game and nice way to tie it into the theme! I really enjoyed the art style, music and SFX as well. There were a couple of times during the panic (I think? the part where you need to click the red spots) that it wasn't entirely clear what I needed to click on so I just clicked randomly until it cleared up. Also, my cursor just straight disappeared at one point. The game is really well done overall, though, and the unique gameplay was fun. Nice work!

Signadle by Helagos 2026-04-22T20:37:07Z

Great take on a "signal" version of wordle! I think it worked pretty well, and it was fun to get feedback and adjust the positioning of various things. Minor nitpicks: the potentiometer was a bit weird to control and I wish I had more rounds to guess. Overall, though, nice work! I enjoyed this.

Piggybacker by Rinevard 2026-04-20T20:49:31Z

Nice interpretation of the theme! I really liked the progression of the game as you unlock new tools and faster speeds. Nice work!

Little Mina: Behind the Screen by IDos 2026-04-23T23:32:07Z

This was quite the story telling! I'm glad you put the effort into a mac version <3

Although it was short, it definitely had a spooky feel and a sad story. The voice acting was impressive. Nice work!

Traffic Jam by MountainGoose 2026-04-21T05:42:31Z

Really cool concept, and a great first jam entry! Congrats! I enjoyed what you built and had fun playing. I could see it expand into even more with more complex intersections, different types of traffic (i.e. trucks, pedestrians, bicycles) and other things that can complicate smooth flowing traffic. Great job!

Signal, Frog by SteveOfStevesGames 2026-04-22T20:41:34Z

As others have said, this looks simple but is deceptively tricky! There's really a lot to focus on all at once. I found it challenging (in a good way) to get a good score. Nice work!

Sierra 1-1 by zevwax 2026-05-03T04:24:04Z

This game was great, and had a very interesting way to tell a story. I ended up getting the bad ending but am not exactly sure why. The artwork and SFX were very fitting. Nice work!

DROWNED OUTPOST by SHU WEN 2026-04-21T16:45:31Z

This game had great ambience! There's certainly an element of horror being all alone having to figure out if a ship out in the darkness is good or not. Great work!

Signal Through the Blizzard by anku 2026-04-23T04:30:38Z

Cool concept and nice short story! I really liked the art and SFX. I did think the text at the bottom of the screen was a bit too "far away" from the rest of the gameplay to read comfortably (kept running into trees and whatnot), but overall I thought this great. Nice work!

Resonance Protocol by PudinKiller 2026-04-21T23:20:42Z

Nice work applying the theme to a tower defense! My one nitpick would be it would be nice to have the level auto-pause at the beginning with a "GO" button when you are done setting up. I found myself making mistakes with the wrong tower type and just having to restart the level through the menus as destroying a tower was less value than it's worth. Other than that, I had fun playing this and would like to see more of it. Nice work!

Social Signal by Yueyao Wang 2026-04-20T03:54:21Z

Nice little game with great audio! I don't really feel like there was any sense to the items I picked to create a signal and ended up just grabbing things at random, but I think the idea has a lot of potential. Nice work!

Insecure WiFi by BushFire 2026-04-23T22:34:16Z

I did it! I agree with what others have said that it's not entirely clear what to do at first, but after getting the hang of it I enjoyed playing. I do wish there was a health bar or some sort of indication how close an enemy boat was to being disabled. I found myself wanting to play games of chicken with them at times, but without knowing how much "damage" they had taken it was really a gamble. Otherwise, this was fun and a great first LD. Nice work!

Lost Signal: Network Warfare by Gahlammon 2026-04-21T04:48:31Z

This certainly seems like an interesting concept! Like the previous commenter, I didn't know what do after unlocking the blue signal and finding the towers. I couldn't figure out what to do or where to go. That said, what I did play was interesting and captured my interest. If you could let me know if I'm missing something I'd be happy to try it out again. Nice work!

Small Among Storms by ShanzPro 2026-04-21T04:42:19Z

Wow, what a nice game! I really appreciate the abundance of checkpoints, as I was constantly risking my luck with the lighting and bird strikes. Nice work!

Chromawalk by Zyertdox 2026-04-20T22:22:29Z

Nice job! This felt like a fairly complete game that I could see being expanded upon. On level 8, I did notice that a few of the tiles at the end didn't count as a win condition. I eventually found the one that did, but I'm not quite sure why one counted and the others didn't (my robot just jumped off the end). At any rate, great work! I enjoyed playing this.

i love you, too by tolviere 2026-04-20T23:23:25Z

Nice job on this! It was fairly intuitive and interesting gameplay, with a good story to boot! Good work!

Lightspeed Explorer by PolGM 2026-04-21T00:17:52Z

Very well done on the visuals and the ambience of the game! It took me a bit to realize what I was doing, but I got the hang of it after a bit. I did have to restart the game once because I didn't realize you maintained your speed and didn't have to hold W or S. I think I ended up at a very high speed that seemed impossible to get slowed down again. My second try was a lot more successful. Nice work!

Dignal by Rafa Fiedo 2026-04-21T16:48:53Z

Nice solid entry! You nailed the simple yet intuitive gameplay that fits the theme really well. I really liked the SFX and music. Nice work!

Deadly Cliffs by Michl Bayer 2026-04-20T22:34:30Z

Nice work getting this done! It fell fairly fleshed out. It was also intuitive how everything worked. I enjoyed crashing ships to get money. Nice job!
