Don't Scratch That Itch by Local Minimum 2024-10-07T21:51:00Z

Really cool implementation of the theme, and creeped the bejesus outta me (which I'm assuming is intentional) so great job there.

I didn't initially understand exactly what I had to do, but because it's such a tight gameplay loop it became clearer each time I had a go.

Nice tight game :D.

DWARFS by Jimbly 2024-10-07T22:42:27Z

So I'm potentially going to go against the grain here, but my eyes were glued to the fat stacks my DWARFS were making, I guess it's swings and roundabouts with this sort of game.

I would have loved to be able to buy some upgrades for the probes, but I suppose the 'company' wouldn't have wanted that to eat into their margins.

Overall, it's extremely polished, but I have come to expect that from you now so no surprises there. It is consistent throughout, has a satisyfing and engaging loop. Thank you.

Watch your step by asfdfdfd 2024-10-08T20:30:51Z

Wow that is such a creative interpretation of the theme!

I love the audio and the controls are really well done. It took me a couple of goes to get a feel for the collision, the greenish shadow was helpful but I still accidently stepped on some little people.

Great entry, thank you.

Those Darn Nanobot AI Will Be The End of Us All by mrspeaker 2024-10-09T14:27:15Z

Oh I feel like I've had a really good hand-eye coordination workout!

You've really nailed the UI / control scheme, I really didn't had to think too much as all about what keys to press and it all felt very natural, which I think it entirely down to how well the UI was fit for purpose.

The art is absolutely fantastic, and I think this is is the perfectly length of time and difficulty for a jam game. Thank you that was fun!

Tiny Creature Dodger by pres2300 2024-10-09T07:26:34Z

Sometimes less is more. It's really simple but executed well.

Really great job getting it put together and polished after meeting your other commitments.

Pan-galaxy!!! Deadly Beasts Obstacle Course Grand Prix by Lunch 2024-10-09T08:48:50Z

This is such an interesting and enjoyable interpretation of the theme, honestly I really loved this.

I quite like that I don't have to do too much, and can just recline back and interfere with the other contestants. The reclined gameplay is a thumbs up from me.

I did find the click boxes to select your racer were a little big maybe? For example when I was clicking on the last row, it would often choose the 4th. Not a big deal really in the grand scheme of things.

The art is really great and the only thing it needs is some light music!

Thank you, what a nice, light polished entry :).

Small hope for a tiny sea creature by Enad96 2024-10-08T08:02:52Z

This is a great game that kept me engaged throughout. It was the perfect length too, just enough to keep me happy but it never felt repetetitve.

Some of the hitboxes were probably a little too big, and the camera did some wild stuff when transitioning between views. I would probably have had a few cameras and then switched the viewport to the new camera rather than moving it, but this is a really minor thing for what was an enjoyable game.

The art style is nice and consistent, and I knew I recognised that shark; Finding Nemo right? 😂

Overall this is a really solid entry, well done.

Bugtallion by goodwincek 2024-10-10T15:20:03Z

This is awesome. It's a really complete experience, and thouroughly enjoyable.

I can see a few comments from people about unluckly dice, I have no idea whether it's truly random or not, but most games cheat with dice and 'random rolls' because humans usually feel hard done by on rolls that are truly random.

Truly great entry, I love the strategy element, the art is great, but possibly is mismatched in places? I feel like the font on the Main menu and then the start button clash for example, but I'm really having to clutch at straws because there's really nothing about the game I didn't like!

Amazing, thanks.

Creature Falls by Ansible 2024-10-10T14:49:16Z

Super cool entry, and great interpretation of the theme.

Certainly very tricky and requires shaking the machine lots, but I started to get the hang of saving the little guys.

Just a small note, make sure to assign a platform when you upload to Itch, otherwise it won't let people download and install it through the Itch app (which sandboxes it, so people don't have to run random executables directly on their system).

Great little game, thank you.

Fairy Haven: The Search for Home by David York 2024-10-08T06:57:24Z

Beautifully presented game, I love the cohesive style and focus on storytelling.

I certainly echo what has been said previously regarding balancing but that is of course beyond the scope of this length of jam. I found stories very hard to come by; and were often at the expense of resources critical for a good score.

I'm pretty sure I found a very good location on one playthrough, but hadn't been fortunate on stories, so wound up with a score of 16k.

I had a good amount of fun trying to figure it out, thank you.

Carnivorous Corpse Aquarium : Feed & Thrive by Adrien Tremblay 2024-10-10T07:58:29Z

This is a really nice vertical slice of what can easily be a bigger project.

Everything looks and works great, and while I know you wanted to add more in the timeframe, this stands on its own as a self-contained little game.

I think what I like most is how cohesive it all is, the art, sound, music, buttons and font all match in style and feel.

Had a lot of fun, thank you.

G'nope by Frib 2024-10-07T21:38:41Z

That was g'nice! It gave me a few big belly laughs actually.

It watched the Dungeon Soup videos after I played and it made alot more sense, but honestly the game stood on its own without the context.

Looks great, smooth as butter and hilarious. Thank you.

CYBERGERM 9001 by apoly 2024-10-08T09:04:14Z

This was SO satisfying. I'm a real horndog for a good 'clear the whole screen with one button' power fantasy; and when my fully upgraded gatling gun bot was clearing things so fast the sound system could barely keep up, my monkey brain hit me with an overdose of dopamine.

It's a nice and tight game, a simple idea that has been executed super well in my opinion. I went the completely opposite direction and I'm learning the hard way why scoping is important!

The UI is really well done, the font did confuse me on the XP bar though, because I read it as HP for **ages** and was confused why my health was jumping around so much .

The browser version didn't run on Firefox with me, but I have a number of extensions that might have been interfering, however it ran perfectly on vanilla Chrome.

I've been so inspired by the fact you guys seems to always try a new framework or engine with each game, it's really impressive.

Honestly, great job, well done.

AntToTopia by Max0n4ik 2024-10-08T07:22:23Z

Unfortunately the game is crashing when I use the 'E' and 'R' hotkeys, but 'T' isn't causing the crash. Tested on both Firefox and Chrome and it crashes the same in both.

Hopefully you might be able to get a bug-fixed build uploaded!

Feeding the Farm by Zamizmi 2024-10-09T11:58:48Z

The sound effects are brilliant! It's got a lovely little gameplay loop with nice progression.

I like how there are a few different ways to approach the levels; whether by placing everything beforehand, then test and adjust - or drop stuff on the fly.

Great job.

TinyWar by Iaroslavik 2024-10-10T14:27:36Z

The art is outstanding, nice little gameplay loop! Very brave on your part to have animals harmed in any way ;).

It took me a couple of tries to realised that kiting the dogs around to group them together and then aoeing them down with fleas was the way to go, but I like that this was a viable and perhaps the correct way to do it.

The dialogue was funny too, overall it's a super polished, concise game. Nice one.

Carbs vs Protein: A Scrote Jenkins Story by Tyler Whitehead 2024-10-09T09:36:40Z

This is such a fever dream, but in a great way. Pure chaos, but a really solid TD implementation for the timeframe.

The performance is so much better than I was expecting. Totally a minor point, but with these short jams it can be a problem with lots of units / projectiles, but everything ran great!

The art is great. AI music is always going to be a contentious one, even with opting out of the rating, but I did find the lyrics to be really funny.

Scrote Jenkins needs a Brotein Fart area-denial ability that can clear large spaces of all living things.

Nice work.

Ants Assemble by LGK-Productions 2024-10-08T09:46:05Z

Really nice entry; the graphics, sound, and general feel all compliment each other and the whole experience feels really cohesive.

I did run into some performance issues on the HTML5 version as my colony grew, I'm not sure if it was the pathfinding or something else, but it became noticably slow and stuttery. However this isn't reflected in my scoring because I'm certain it wouldn't be an issue on the Windows version.

The gameplay loop is solid, however after an while it did get frustrating to have to keep sending out ants to reconnoitre areas I had already been shortly before and it started to feel like a bit of a chore.

I think this is a great execution of a RTS for a jam, a thematically it makes complete sense. The pheromone trail system is fantastic.

Overall I really enjoyed this, and it's a wonderful entry, thank you.

Zeus Needs You by Geoffroy 2024-10-09T09:00:25Z

Such a great concept, really good for your first jam game.

The UI, controls and loop is spot-on, and the art is great.

Awesome job.

Cheese Capade by Selen93 2024-10-09T07:18:33Z

Nice little entry! The art style is sweet, and the music and sound goes well.

I think the collision / hurtboxes on the spikes were a little too big, as you would get spiked standing just on the edge of the platform where the sprite isn't touching the spikes.

The level design is really well thought out and it the mechanics clicked quite quickly.

Well done for finishing your first jam game together :)

The Germinator by Slippers 2024-10-07T22:45:28Z

@eerongal It does seem I made it a little tricky to navigate. I really wanted to have a narrator of some sort to guide the player along a bit, but simply ran out of time.

Thank you for playing and the feedback.

The Germinator by Slippers 2024-10-08T06:03:43Z

@Frib Thank you for playing and such great feedback. Completely agree on your points.

I didn't scope particularly well, as nothing is tuned that well as a result. Too much to be left on the cutting room floor with a platformer.

I was kinda of going for the feeling of the old Counter-Strike: Source bunnyhopping servers that I played tonnes when I was a kid, but it is an aquired taste for sure.

Thanks again.

The Germinator by Slippers 2024-10-08T11:28:50Z

@lgk-productions Thank you for taking the time to play and for your feedback.

Yeah the general feedback to the player is absent in many cases, and I was trying to throw as much in towards the end as I could, it was a completely avoidable issue with overscope.

I'm really pleased to hear you gave speedrunning a go, and hope you had fun.

Many thanks again.

The Germinator by Slippers 2024-10-08T17:18:30Z

@local-minimum I've learnt to get as many binding options in if i'm not going to offer rebinding! Glad it was of use.

All of the issues you have itentified are really symptomatic of a lack of polish and time to refine. 3D platformers are just way too intensive from a design perspective if you're working solo I guess; but that's all on me of course! Every day is a school day.

So on the cheeky exit that closed just as you approached it - it's on a timer that's just a little to fast for running normally, but you can actually move a little faster if you jump and run, so you can actually skip the entire level if you time it right - it's a kind of quirk you had in some old FPS that I wanted to implement, but I don't think anyone has noticed the skips yet.

I agree in general I needed to do more to guide players in the right directions in the levels too.

Thanks for taking the time to play and leave feedback :)

The Germinator by Slippers 2024-10-09T14:04:34Z

@mrspeaker Thank you so much for such thoughtful feedback.

I'm really happy it game across that I was trying to introduce the mechanics in a controlled way rather than throwing it all in at once.

And i'm chuffed you got lots of playtime out of it, thank you for your time.

The Germinator by Slippers 2024-10-10T07:26:28Z

@pres2300 Thank you for playing and taking the time to leave feedback.

I think adding some sensitivity controls or at least tuning them down a bit would have gone a long way to improving the experience as this has been an issue for many.

I was wondering if I had missed any collision boxes! I rejigged the level so many times and felt I must have forgotten to resize something, really glad that it didn't leave you stuck anywhere.

I'm glad that you had fun and enjoyed the unsettling texturing. Thanks again.

The Germinator by Slippers 2024-10-10T11:10:26Z

@ansible You are so right about the buffer, it totally escaped me until after the jam that platformers use a bit of trickery to make it feel more fair!

@iaroslavik @mothchoir Thank you for your time and for playing :)

The Germinator by Slippers 2024-10-10T15:23:27Z

@druven Thank you for playing!

Yeah the white blood cells had to be made super forgiving because I didn't have time to block their detection with walls, and it felt **really** bad to have them snipe you through a hard surface  . My original plan was to have them chase you, but they would not behave themselves so that got canned too,

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, and glad you have fun.

The Germinator by Slippers 2024-10-10T20:16:54Z

@apoly Thanks for taking the time to play!

Yeah the controller is pretty hacked together and very simple, and lots of people have felt a little out of control so it's certainly a bit wild so sorry about that .

I would certainly look at improving the general feel of the movement and the collisions if I did something like this again in the future, it's certainly not like a dungeon crawler controller.

I'm pleased you liked looking at my meat, you can come back and play with it any time. Thanks again for the feedback

The Germinator by Slippers 2024-10-15T06:45:51Z

@jimbly Ah I'm very sorry to hear you didn't make it through, it's certainly tuned for what I was able to do in testing but based on the feedback overwhelmingly it's just too sensitive and unforgiving!

You're totally right in that if I was to even do something like this again (not likely ) I would need to implement some controls to tune the user input at the very least.

Platformers, and 3D ones at that are just absolute suicide for short game jams. But we learn these things the hard way I guess . I'm glad you like the textures.

Thank you for taking the time to play and leave feedback.

Ratquarium by mothchoir 2024-10-10T14:36:53Z

Great effort for your first jam game, it's really solid.

I think some larger collision boxes for the cheese, and smaller collision for the projectiles would help to make it feel a little better for the player.

The art is spot on, great job.

Evergrove by Chariot 2024-10-08T19:43:35Z

Wow this is really impressive for such a short jam. While it certainly stands on its own as an impressive 3 day project, it's also a great vertical slice for what could be more.

The procgen and AI is extremely well done for the time, and it's no surprise or concern that music got waylayed as a result. Thematically it's just about there. Whether dwarves are a tiny or just short-kings is a semantic digression.

Of course I don't need to talk about stuff you already know about improving the gameplay loop and such. The only thing that I wish wish was different would be to be able to cancel a dig. There were a few times when my dwarves started to dig to Narnia because of a misclick.

But really overall it's an incredibly solid entry. Artistically it's great and the systems design is top-notch for such a short jam.

LD59 — Signal

Trippin' Ballz by schizoid2k 2026-04-21T19:42:17Z

Excellent name.

This was fun to just blast away. I had more success just clicking as fast as I could and cycling between the three cannons over being more precise.

As another commenter noted, if your ballz fall out (of the targetable area) it can be a bit frustrating to try and wait for them to come back into range, but that would really be my only complaint.

Everything else worked well and it's a nice little game, thank you!

Drone Supervisor II Online by Jimbly 2026-04-20T21:30:03Z

Highly impressive, and as per usual, made me feel like an absolute moron. It's definitely challenging to dedicate the amount of time required to understand everything this game has to offer in what I would say is a reasonable time to play a jam game. It's not an issue of tutorialisation though, but just pure scale; which is hardly a negative really.

I'll certainly come back to this, probably to try the multiplayer. But at a cursory glance it's a huge technical achievement and there's a hell of a lot here to sink some teeth into.

Clickrun by miltage 2026-04-24T19:25:08Z

This is fun! So much so that I played it enough to accidently click at the exact frame as the gun and got a 13ms 'reaction'. It's not really a reaction, it was completely accidental!

I guess that's why in real life you get disqualified if you react too fast, even if it's technically after the gun.

Regardless, any gamified mechanic with a high score always makes me want to play a bunch to keep improving, so I had a great deal of fun. Thank you.

Survey by mattlevonian 2026-04-22T07:06:48Z

This was pretty interesting! I solved up to survey 5 and whilst from 1-4 I felt like I was able to solve them in a fairly analytical way, for 5 I started to rely on guesswork much more. So I decide to call it there before going further. Layering up the signals is a great escalation of the mechanic, and I'm sure it has grounding in the real world, for which I have no knowledge or undertanding

Thematically it's on point. Also very cool to see a handrolled Rust game. Thank you.

Signal Weave by alexhonor 2026-04-21T11:03:38Z

Such a great little game, extremely polished.

It took me an embarrassingly long time to realise I needed to mix colours (I just kept expanding expecting to be given a green / purple / orange source lol). So in that regard I would have preferred that info to also be in UI, but thankfully I went back and checked the description after 25 mins.

Nonetheless it's a great, fun experience. Thanks

Celestial Bodies by rynti 2026-04-22T16:04:29Z

The Arnie groans really do sell it don't they?

Very fun, light-hearted and nicely polished. I know some have commented on the difficulty, but I think for this type of game, it's just pure levity and I don't mind in the slightest.

Great concept, good use of theme. Great sounds and a nice fun loop. Thank you!

Solar Signals by pmarincak 2026-04-20T20:49:26Z

Really charming idler! idler.JPG

I ended up at 147/s. I'm no musician so I took the path of greed. I have no idea if there's a more efficient layout, I tried messing with the distributors but it didn't seem to be a net game and was more for the musicians I believe?

It was quite simple, and the gains become exponential quite quickly, however that's perfect for a jam. This was nice and cozy, thank you.

No Signal by detectiveLosos 2026-04-23T08:14:24Z

I'm an absolute wimp, but someone sent me this to play so I felt obliged to finish it. THANK GOODNESS it's short because I don't have the fiscal means to completely replace the contents of my underpants drawer.

The atmosphere is excellent, I played on PC but I can imagine playing this under the covers on my phone and also destroying a perfectly good set of bedding.

It's interesting that the game is trivial if you're just calm and methodical, but the first couple of plays I just bum-rushed through the level with reckless abandon and obviously got murdered quite quickly. When I took my time it was simple!

Anyway, thank you - that was fun!

I Had No Signal! by fabelay 2026-04-20T20:17:00Z

Really atmospheric. Despite never actually seeing the monster, I still felt quite scared after it ate me the first time, such that I just sprinted all the way to the tower.

The tension was great, and the game itself is an excellent length. I would have liked to have played in fullscreen, as I found myself squinting quite a bit. However that might require an Itch.io link as I'm not aware if it can be done with embedded game on the LD site.

Thanks I had fun!

The Abyss by TureGrappa 2026-04-21T19:32:30Z

Short, sweet and simple. My first run took 46 seconds and the next 23 seconds. I do appreciate that you didn't arbitrarily make the game longer just for the sake of it, so this is a strength in my view.

It's an excellent implementation of the theme and everything is really nicely polished. The sound fits with the artstyle perfectly and I'm not sure I actually have anything to critique!

Thanks!

Terminal Espionage by Frib 2026-04-21T08:08:11Z

This is a fantastic implementation of the theme, very ambitious for sure.

The instructions in the game page were a godsend, and I wouldn't have got very far without them. I think if you'd have managed to get that level of tutorialisation into the game itself, people would likely have a much easier time. But alas for a compo entry, this is extremely impressive

I was able to get up to the point where I was hunting for the codeword for the enemy station in 1650. I had picked up and plotted 2 points on 2400, but I couldn't find a 3rd nor was I successful in listening on on that frequency at the intersection of the two points I was able to plot.

Despite not getting further that that, I still enjoyed sussing it out alot. Thank you.

Per Signum by apoly 2026-04-21T06:55:45Z

I really loved this. It was very satisfying ending up with a horde of destroyers and just steamrolling through the final bits of hostile territory.

Those are my stats:

apoly-bat.JPG

I rarely find myself wanting more from jam games, and usually 15-20 mins is a perfect length for me, but I ended up not ready for it to end .

Thank you that was really fun!

Timmy's Late For Tea by Slippers 2026-04-20T21:36:25Z

@nathanial I was hoping to have Timmy give a running commentary as he went and comment on various things. Including how the lava was strange and how he didn't remember Liverpool having a volcano, but time got the better of me

Thanks for playing!

Timmy's Late For Tea by Slippers 2026-04-20T21:37:17Z

@snk Haha! Glad you came back to see the final design, it was certainly quite the time sink to get it all setup. Thanks for playing and i'm really happy you had fun.

Timmy's Late For Tea by Slippers 2026-04-20T21:43:30Z

@illiteratelexicon Thank you for playing. A play tester did have quite a bit of trouble with the controls, so i've tried to plaster them in every description I can. It's definitely not the most ergonomic, and for that I apologise.

Pleased you found it funny at least! Thanks for playing and your feedback.

Timmy's Late For Tea by Slippers 2026-04-22T06:47:14Z

@batisdark That Kekia is mint condition, like new. Uhm, so that was lava. I was planning on having Timmy give a running commentary about how strange it was and have the whole game be super meta - but I apparently have ZERO concept of controlling scope, so totally ran out of time and scrambled. I was actually planning little bits of dog poo / the occasional landmine to step on! But rotators would have been great, and evil :bat:.

When I eventually learn to manage scope i'll be able to actually polish a game ! Thank you for playing!

@rhookx Thank you for playing. You blew it with Cindy? Bad Timmy.

@local-minimum Thank you for recording the video , and for playtesting, and for proofreading :nerd:.

@beareye Really pleased to hear you found it funny, thank you for playing.

Reflectogram by Mikan 2026-04-21T08:33:28Z

Lovely amount of polish on this. There's a very good chance that i'm not the target audience for this type of game, and I had to go a Google what a Nonogram was and how to solve them.

Ideally I would want a little bit of tutorialisation inside the game, or at least some instructions somewhere so that the plebs like me can have a go. Once I had sussed what I needed to do it was a really pleasant experience and the mirror mechanic is super unique.

All in all it's a great little game, it just needs a little something to cater to those who aren't familiar with this type of puzzle.

Beep & Dig by Kreesk 2026-04-21T20:03:42Z

I managed to collect the 1,500 and escape. I was a little concerned it was going to take much too long when I was initially digging up low value coins and such, however when I found some rings and necklaces, it all went much faster.

Overall I really quite enjoyed this! I think I had a couple of issues with the audio, as sometimes it would beep and othertimes there would be nothing, even when it had lit up green. However I was still able to find anything I need, so it didn't affect the gameplay.

Thank you, I enjoyed this.

BatterySignalOverdrive by bigfatgua 2026-04-22T15:42:05Z

Absolutely outstanding for your first game and first jam. You've managed scope really well; the game is fun, well sized and paced and nicely polished. Fantastic job.

Semaphoria by illiteratelexicon 2026-04-20T22:22:18Z

What a great implementation of the theme. I did wonder how many flag semaphore entries there might be, but I had never heard of this type of optical semaphore. I've just been down the Wikipedia rabbit hole.

I wasn't expecting to have an educational evening, but here we are. Thank you.

Into The Nightmare by snk 2026-04-20T22:10:35Z

Excellent atmosphere, and I particularly like the perspective given by the torch / flashlight. It's just enough to remove all peripheral vision but not so much it feels needlessly small. It's a great balance that makes everything much more tense, but not annoying which is a hard balance to strike.

The SFX is great, and really adds to the mood. Thanks!

No Service by Nathanial 2026-04-20T22:00:54Z

Platforming is such a great implementation of the theme, very on point. The art is lovely and consistent, nice music too.

Every so slightly unforgiving on some the colliders, but you're well aware of that. Really nicely done, thanks.
