@big-nose You have to select a laser cannon (1, 2, or 3 selects the blue, green, or yellow cannon). You can then hover over the black ones and they will turn to the color of the cannon if the colors match... ie: green Ballz will show themselves when selecting the green cannon.

Pretty cool game! I loved trying to figure out what cannon I should use, and it had just the right amount of intensity. There were a few frustrating times when one of the asteroids was just below the cannon and I couldn't hit it, but I should probably have been focusing on other asteroids anyway. The mushroom was really satisfying to use, and I would have loved to see more power-ups, but for the time constraints, you did a really good job!

@meemog That's a pretty good score! Thanks for playing and for your comments. I'm thinking of expanding this with more powerups at some point... I guess it depends on my final rating whether it's worth it.

Excellent name.

This was fun to just blast away. I had more success just clicking as fast as I could and cycling between the three cannons over being more precise.

As another commenter noted, if your ballz fall out (of the targetable area) it can be a bit frustrating to try and wait for them to come back into range, but that would really be my only complaint.

Everything else worked well and it's a nice little game, thank you!

Nice entry! I ended up at 3500 before my wife distracted me and I lost ;P

I didn't quite understand the "listen for audio clues" part. It seemed to work well enough to switch to a random cannon, and then hit anything that showed as the correct color?

I liked how the cannons were all independent.

Not being able to shoot the ones that were under or on top of my cannon was the only point of frustration. Nice game

@slippers Thanks for playing, and I do agree with your comments. I plan on improving the game after the rating period and making sure the ballz stay within the area of the cannons is one of the fixes I plan to do. I would also like to figure out a good way to reduce the amount of random shooting without frustrating the player.

@sirlich Yes, originally, it was just listening for audio clues, but I found it was a bit difficult, so when you hone in on a Ballz with matching color cannon, the Ballz will give you a visual clue as well.

However, as others, I had success rapidly switching between cannons to clear more balls than any actual "listening".

It was fun. I liked the idea, but in my opinion, the game could have been more interesting than just endlessly shooting emojis. And that line, “Oh, man…” really adds more fun to the game.

Ohhh maaan, I think I sucked at it. Only got 4600, but I also only realized scrolling through here that the mushrooms had to be used and don't work automatically. Fun little game that already looks quite polished :)

It would have been fun to integrate some kind of second game loop, since it did start to become a little bit repetitive—maybe some upgrades that would have made the blasts different? But I loved the gradual destruction of the planet and the chilling music with the SFX! Great work.

just kept blasting the same rock over and over and somehow didnt get bored the chill soundtrack makes it hypnotic

I think at some point I broke the web build, there were like 200 ballz flying around, I had around 80k points, and even when they hit the rock in the middle, it wasn't cracking anymore and the game kept going.

Other than this, which I only managed to do once, fun game! Like the level of intensity and how it ramps up, and the music was nice and fit well!

I did notice a bit of lag when switching cannons with many ballz on screen, but that might just be an issue in the web build where I was playing. Just wanted to mention it in case you expand the game, may need to check for what is causing that if it happens in the non-web exports. :slight_smile:

I’ll have to check what’s going on… there shouldn’t be that many balls on the screen at the same time, and it should obviously end after the asteroid is hit 10 times. I guess consider it “bullet hell” mode. ::smile::

You are also correct that the lag is a by-product of the web build. I’ll check into that too.
