this games masterfully creates tension and keeps it until the end. I enjoyed flashlight mechanic with cellphone that dying quickly. The only thing is, I haven't really seen the monster (if there is a monster in here), but seeing it with your cellphone camera sounds pretty unique. Very well done

I love that this game has a story behind it, aaah. And oh shit, that was really scary. The game has its weird atmosphere. I almost reached the tower, and then something cameout, I hear the sounds -> look on the phone -> trying to run -> no stamina - shit.

@beareye Thank you! Yes, there is something hunting you! You must have been lucky or there was a bug that saved you

@skale Yes! No shit! We've been scaring ourselves while playtesting too, lol!

This looks really good, but the mouse isn't working well on web :(

@tanjou Hey! Thanks for the feedback. Can you describe what does not work well and what browser you used? We tried it on multiple devices in the browser and we couldn't make it fail, but we tried only Chrome so far.

@fabelay hey! I tried both Safari and Chrome on Mac. It partially works until something happens in game. I might try to replicate again after I wake up

@Tanjou Thank you very much! I just tried it on Mac with Chrome too and it worked, but only after I connected a real mouse to it. The track pad didn't register at all. Did you use a real mouse?

Really atmospheric. Despite never actually seeing the monster, I still felt quite scared after it ate me the first time, such that I just sprinted all the way to the tower.
The tension was great, and the game itself is an excellent length. I would have liked to have played in fullscreen, as I found myself squinting quite a bit. However that might require an Itch.io link as I'm not aware if it can be done with embedded game on the LD site.
Thanks I had fun!

@slippers Thank you! If you press ESC in game there is an option for fullscreen.

The way the phone battery forces you to balance visibility with survival really ramps up the panic as you get closer to the tower. It’s such an effective way to make the forest feel even more isolating while trying to get that rescue call through.
I enjoyed the tension and thankfully didn't run into that thing that could only be seen with the camera, and I made it to the tower woo! really nice music and ambient sounds too
The visuals of your world were so impressive! The audio, too - overall, the atmosphere really impressed me and drew me in. The phone mechanic works well and looks really good. I made it to the tower quickly on my first try and didn't encounter any unspeakable horror, so I went back and looked around. Maybe he should be more aggressive? But anyway, making this in 72 hours is excellent work. And I really enjoyed reading your relationship story as well!

I like the sound design, and overall the game feels very atmospheric. I managed to finish it on my second try—the first time I died to something I didn’t even see.
To be honest, I barely had to use the phone since the visibility is quite good (maybe that’s because I’m playing on max brightness on my laptop?), so I didn’t feel as much tension from the atmosphere. Still, the game has a solid foundation

2026-04-21 05:33
@mrwarranty Thank you so much for your feedback! Balancing is indeed an own category. Also, the level of brightness especially in horror games. Thank you for commenting on our story as well, means a lot! <3
fabelay
2026-04-21 05:51
@pipetto Thank you for playing our game! You have a point regarding the brightness. We were checking it on different monitors and decided to go with this. We keep that in mind! Also, the creature can only be seen on camera. :)
The atmosphere is incredible!!! it kept me tense the whole time. Although I never actually saw the monster haha.
If I had to point out one thing, at first I thought the battery percentage was the signal quality, so I drained it almost immediately in my first run haha.
Other than that, the experience was really great!!

@ethernal-tech Thank you very much for the feedback! The monster is there, have you heard its footsteps, sometimes you get lucky! And since its only visible in the phone camera, it also gets you without seeing it at all sometimes. haha! We already thought that maybe it should become visible when its really close without the camera? Not sure yet.
Oh, your game is published too now, gonna play it right now :)

I'm on linux, so i had to play the web version. The camera constantly pulls to the right. like 80% of the time. i wonder if it's comparing the mouse's current position (center of the webpage) to the game image's center? (slightly to the left because it's not centered on Ludum Dare) Just a guess. The touchpad is fine btw, it works exactly the same. Unfortunate that i didn't get to play

The game is really nice, but it's a bit dark.Other than that, the game's visuals and models are pretty cool.

2026-04-21 13:21
@mrchip thanks for the feedback! there are some issues apparently with the mouse in certain situations for the HTML5 build. We tried to reproduce it here, but so far any combination of OS and browser we tried seemed fine, except that on MacOS the track pad wouldnt register and you need a real mouse.
Havent tried on Linux yet, thanks for the feedback. Nothing really special about the implementation though, its almost using Godots default. Is the mouse properly captured by the game or is the cursor still visible? Maybe switching to fullscreen (ESC -> activate fullscreen in game) fixes the issue though.

2026-04-21 13:55
I know, i mentioned it because i saw the other comment. I didn't know i could fullscreen that way! It worked. However, the framerate remained low due to my old laptop's extreme skill issue. I have, however, found a way:
nosignal_quest.jpg
(yeah, turns out it runs faster on my vr headset's web browser, lmao. if it's goofy but it works... well... it's still goofy.)
I know there is something hunting you but i got to the end without ever seeing it haha
fabelay
2026-04-21 14:46
@mrchip We simply love your approach! XD Your idea is awesome. Thank you so much for your picture. You definitely got lucky with the creature hunting you. You can only see it through the cam of your cellphone, but you might have heard the footsteps? Try it with earphones. The immersion should be way better. Have fun!

@fabelay finally managed to play, Chrome, Mac, with trackpad!
Awesome idea and experience. Very moody. The walking/running sound effects were a little uncomfortable, but the entire rest is great! xD

Very good visuals and atmosphere! Radio tower reminded me of Tokyo Tower, which is my favorite building in the world. And rapidly draining battery really gave me some sense of urgency. I kinda didn't like invisible walls too much, but I understand why they are there, as player could just walk towards the tower directly.
I really liked the phone implementation, because it forces you to look at the smaller screen more, and the less you see, the more creepy things feel. Though I have one probably unusual question; is there any way how to find the monster easily? Because I do understand that it shows only on the phone screen, but I played the game like 4 times, and I was trying to find it on purpose, but I wasn't successful. Maybe I'm just too ugly, though.

I had a lot of fun playing it!
fabelay
2026-04-21 18:30
@dzejpi Yes, there is a way 😂 If you reached the first "Cellphone tower" sign and turn right back to the spawn you will encounter the monster 100%, because its coming the same way and roams randomly then.
(In fact its even right behind you when you spawn, but inactive and even invisible on the phone *shudders*)

2026-04-21 18:49
@fabelay ah, that worked perfectly indeed. Nice one! And yea, the little tricks that players don't know about, love it! In my game, there's a spawner behind the player all the time, just waiting.
fabelay
2026-04-21 21:43
@dzejpi Yes! Haha. I've played your game as well! I absolutely felt dragging that spawner behind me, haha!

@Zastegnushka Thank you for playing and the feedback!
I wanted more sounds of the night forest.
fabelay
2026-04-23 17:06
@3blackpixel Yeah, we wanted too, but it was always sunny outside with cute birds chirping or cars around, so we had a hard time to record the right things 😂 It was already a nightmare to crop the crows out or record background static that doesnt sound like a city. Next time we push this more! Thank you for your feedback!

I got scared! The atmosphere is excellent and the monster design is genuinely creepy. Nice little game, I like it.
Too much walking 😊
Spookyy, I like it! I didn't see any monster, maybe too much stamina haha, but awesome entry as your first game together, congrats!

2026-04-23 20:21
@wouterk12 Did you play the itch.io version? Sometimes the monster is not keeping up or gets stuck. in the itch version its way more likely to have an encounter 😁 Thank you, for your feedback!
fabelay
2026-04-23 20:23
@korzhik Thank you! Honestly we also got scared sometimes. I needed to tell me that I am play testing and I know exactly how the monster acts, lol. That was really weird.
Awesome tension and atmosphere. Genuinely scary and tense. One of my fav entries I have played. Great job!

I have yet to actually reach the tower, still trying, but this is a great game! Awesome job. You definitely nailed an unsettling vibe that I enjoy, haha.
Whooooa this is anxiety inducing haha. I never got to see the monster, I reached the tower with 1% and got game over because I didn't have enough time to complete the call. Then I tried again and got there with a bit more.
But despite never seeing the monster, the thing with the dual screen and the dark forest, eerie stars, I don't know exactly, but the game's environment just screamed "LET'S GET OUT OF HERE". Also, the path being all sinuous helped to create a feeling that I was never getting close, just seeing that tower on the horizon and checking my phone desperately all the time.
There was a point where I thought: Was there a monster at all? Or was I dying just because of my anxiety and having to use the phone every split second just in case the monster was there? I wouldn't even be mad if the monster was just a guise told by you, the devs, to make us lose because of our own scaredy cat behavior haha.
Really cool game, and heartwarming "who we are" section. Great job!

2026-04-24 18:08
My experience with the game was that I just reached the switch without any problems, the idea with the phone is not bad, but I was not able to appreciate it
fabelay
2026-04-24 21:05
@shram Thank you for the feedback! Yes, it seems very common to reach the end without any encounter, especially for people who just quickly solve the maze. There is a small bugfix version on itch.io which should also result in more encounters.
fabelay
2026-04-24 21:10
@conradoclark Thank you so much!! The idea was absolutely that the possibility of an encounter should drive atmosphere, not necessarily of it actually happening. But it also seems to be a little too safe, haha. But I can confirm, that there is, indeed, an entity roaming the map. We have a small bugfix and accessibility update on itch.io (didnt want to change it here, to keep the original Jam version in the spotlight), that should have more encounters. Sometimes it barely comes out of hiding or is stuck in one place all the time in the version here on LD. After the voting is over we will update it here too.
wow lovely mood. It was tense throughout!!!
Great submission! You did a great job with building tension. I also appreciate the environment design and ambient sounds and all the little bells and whistles that all add to the experience.

I had fun with this. I liked the how the tower was in view for awhile before you could get to it. Walking through the forest was nice. Forcing limited use of the flash light and stamina definitely forced a bit more caution.
The monster got me several times, the first time was the worst though. I just saw in the corner of my eye on the phone.
fabelay
2026-04-25 17:36
@kabura Thank you! Yeah, the atmosphere was also very important to us. I (Diana) had some difficulties playing it for the first time, 'cause I was really scared and I'm not good in labyrinths! ^^
fabelay
2026-04-25 17:41
@stuckne1 haha! I love that you actually played it several times and had fun with our monster. It was such a pain for me (Diana). I spent approximately 6 hours on creating it in Blender with bone structure (I must say, I have barely used Blender before).
And after all that time, I somehow couldn't animate it properly. I was devastated, so I left it for sunday and thought, it would never make it to the game.
Fortunately we had some spare time on monday and made it work. So happy now!
This was pretty intense even though I never saw the monster up close (I got killed on the first attempt, on the second I only saw it disappearing around a corner). I liked the knocked-over sign detail. The art style reminds me of old indie horror games in a really nostalgic way! It's very sweet seeing games developed by couples. Best of luck to you two!
fabelay
2026-04-25 22:28
@theoratkin Thank you so much! We had a great time making and playing it (breakdowns included). Since I (Diana) have difficulties with labyrinths, I was really losing my mind on the first tries and simply had to include the signs. Unfortunately Marcel knocked one over. ^^
Easy to learn, hard to master, very fun!

I can’t enjoy the game because there’s a bug in the HTML version that’s stopping me from playing. I have to say, the graphics are cool, though.

@irkar Thank you for the feedback! Can you describe the bug? Does the itch.io version act the same way?

Cool entry, mood was on point. Battery draining quickly stressed me out but i guess thats the point^^ I think it could even be darker with a flashlight or nightvision on the phone so its always intense even after restarting a few times. Still very well done entry!
fabelay
2026-04-28 23:39
@irkar I tried it on Firefox and it worked here :/ I've seen a similar problem on my Mac on Chrome, but I could solve it by connecting a real mouse. It somehow didnt want to work with the trackpad. Others have said it worked well with their trackpad on Windows. Did you by any chance use a track pad? Thanks for your feedback!

Awesome game! Having to use my phone to see the dude was really tense. I'm really glad you allowed it to make footstep noises when it is near lol. The audio in general here is great. Actually the monster ended up guiding me to the tower haha it's not so scary when you're stalking it! Great atmosphere. I'm not sure if this is a feature already but it would be kinda diabolical if you made it so that the monster sees you more easily when you have your phone flash on or something, giving you one more reason to use it sparingly... Nice work!

Genuinely terrifying, and the first playthrough I didn't even encounter the monster at all - so I had to play again to get a good look at it :)
So glad you two have made your first game together and this is such a great first entry - I'm hoping to see you again next time!

Dropping a long over due comment here. Really appreciate you giving me the opportunity to play this game [on stream.](https://www.youtube.com/live/fCwnxSEAlQY?si=uzzj96_Op_UuSaHR&t=10151)
My thoughts are shared in the VOD. Hope we see you back for LD60. ✌

@emsea that was fun! thank you very much!
So, first of all this game was a lot of fun! I think I also had the bug where I never saw the monster. But the atmosphere was amazing.
I'm a fellow Godot dev, and I missed the HTML embed at first (thought it was just a screenshot of the game) so I downloaded the windows .exe
I'm on Linux, but normally I can get them to run via wine or Bottles. Was having no luck at all, then realized there was an embed. That worked flawlessly, and even the fullscreen toggle in the options menu made the embedded game run in fullscreen instead of the tiny window in the LD website, so that was bonus points!
Overall great job and keep up the good work!
