LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Soy Content by pi_pi3 2020-10-12T23:10:38Z

Props for using [Bevy](https://bevyengine.org/)! It's a very promising engine that I want to learn once it gets more stable.

The movement in this game is a bit too slow, and I would prefer higher mouse sensitivity. Head bobbing is way too aggressive, you need to lower it a bit (I ended up disabling it). The models are great, but I think they really need some colors. The game just feels too lifeless and insipid without them. But maybe you were going for such style, I can't really tell.

I like how you made the rooms loop, very well fits the theme. I couldn't get out of the "Content" room (it had no doors), so I assume it is an ending. But this can't be right, because the screenshots have outside house and the shop, which I didn't get to see in the game. Maybe you're just teasing us. :stuck_out_tongue:

Colorful Memories by Ayxs 2020-10-08T19:00:51Z

Very touching game with a deep meaning. Got me thinking about many things. I got only one issue, a sentence on the end scene wasn't completed, looks like the text was out of bounds or something like it.

Johnny Lootem's Going Loopy! by Mr_Field 2020-10-09T03:32:54Z

Wow, fantastic game! I love everything about it - very cool graphics, music, lots of unique enemies, and awesome dynamic gameplay with cool upgrade system. It really keeps you playing until the end.

The game was a bit difficult at first, but then it just started to rain scraps at me, hundreds upon hundreds, I could easily upgrade my ship to the maximum capacity and buy an insane amount of rockets, which made it a lot fun!

My only critic is that the controls are a bit difficult, the ship moves too fast and too smooth. But it adds some fun challenge I guess, so not necessarily a bad thing.

It will be awesome if you release a Linux version, I would like to keep this game in my native library!

Progress. by AidanMarkham 2020-10-11T03:52:16Z

Wow, such an awesome game! Very unique and smart played idea about collecting points to enable only certain controls. It was really fun to *progress*! Loved the ending. I think it would be nice to be able to skip the intro messages, since they can take long time, especially when you restart a lot (when platforming, for example). I played on Linux by the way, the game runs great!

wipestuck by dokthar 2020-10-06T03:52:35Z

Cool and weird interactive experience! Big props for custom engine and Linux exclusivity! :penguin:

StackInTheLoop by saurterrs 2020-10-06T06:18:05Z

Cool rally game! The controls are nice and driving feels satisfying. I also like the simple graphics, and the music as well. I think this game really needs a restart option, because if you messed up a run you have to wait for the timer to finish.

Recursion by DrunkardWolf 2020-10-22T21:52:59Z

Very cool and scary PSX-styled game. It follows the theme pretty well and I felt tension the whole time.

The only problem for me was the monster sequences. They felt very awkward, because I kept running into obstacles. Especially when I had to run backwards and shoot, that was really hard.

Mind the Gap by coderTrevor 2020-10-10T21:32:24Z

Funny little adventure game. I couldn't figure out how to convince the boombox guy to stop his music. But it's okay, the music was cool. :-)

Tunnel Racer by Killian 2020-10-13T20:08:12Z

Very cool and atmospheric tunnel runner! I love the neon graphics and the way the tunnel is generated. Some music and a score system would make this a complete experience!

Loop de Loop by Klaus Peter 2020-10-06T18:46:50Z

Very cool idea! I like the puzzles, simple graphics and sounds. I got stuck at the hole after completing the falling blocks section, I don't know if it's intentional or not.

Loopsed In Space by Todd Mitchell 2020-10-06T19:09:24Z

Cool concept that makes fun of mobile games market. The coins for some reason get counted only after a second you collected them, and if you died immediately after then it won't count.

And I feel a bit dumb, because I actually collected 50 coins. It took me forever...

Loop the Loop by Bajtix 2020-10-10T21:21:24Z

Nice rhythm-based game, very original idea! I think a little explanation of all the abilities would be nice, I still don't quite understand all of them (except for hammer). And I played on Linux by the way, the game runs great!

Dead Hand by Kszaku 2020-10-10T16:39:27Z

Very immersive game with cool command-line interface! If you ignore the typos, the announcement messages felt very real. And the slowdowns were really scary at times. I think you need to add the possibility to view previous emails, because there is no way to get the delay code later unless you copy it somewhere.

P.S. Entering the shutdown code doesn't actually cancel the strike and you can continue playing... It looks like a bug, but it's kind of convenient, given the theme.

WhileLoops by Ausstein 2020-10-06T19:26:11Z

Awesome idea! I actually was thinking about making a game about a programming loop, but it wouldn't be half as good as yours!

Loop Fare by KreGames 2020-10-08T19:30:20Z

Fun little game. I like the simple gameplay and the upgrade mechanics. Though I had a few bugs.

1\. For some reason it wouldn't let me collect more than 30 coins, even though I had all stash upgrades.

2\. It looks like once you unlock an upgrade, you can buy it an infinite amount of times, even if you don't have enough money. I was able to make my account negative this way.

3\. Also, at one point there was no way for me to avoid fire hydrants.

maximum loopage by arseneauol1 2020-10-06T05:06:34Z

Nice racing game with cool pixel-art graphics. It would probably be fun to play it in multiplayer, but there weren't any players unfortunately. Maybe you could add some bots, so the game can be played in single player as well.

Particle Accelerator by Koolruz 2020-10-06T02:18:49Z

Very good and challenging platformer! It's cool that you managed to make so many levels in such a short time.

It took me a while to get used to controls and to the momentum mechanics, and even now that I have finished the game I don't completely understand it. I mostly just smashed keys randomly until it started to work.

Seeing that you are going for a retro feel, I could suggest to add some cool post-processing effects like bloom and CRT effect. It will look awesome with your game!

Uncover The Loop by DevParty 2020-10-09T04:02:48Z

Nice little puzzle game, the graphics and physics need a bit more polish, but otherwise it's not bad. I liked the atmosphere.

I wasn't able to get the code, because I couldn't read clues (I have a glitch in Unity games with text not rendering when playing under Wine, it's not a problem with your game), but I solved all the other puzzles.

Maze Service by Oshawatt123 2020-10-11T18:40:30Z

Very cool idea about restoring the database. Unfortunately, I couldn't play on Linux using Wine, it seems to read the file (judging by the logs) but nothing happens when you walk between the rooms. There aren't any objects like depicted on screenshots. But I understand the general idea and it's pretty cool!

I found an amusing bug, you can make the character spin. It looks like it is incorrectly affected by rigidbody physics.

black_box by Fraxle 2020-10-11T20:17:37Z

Very cool and addictive game. It was fun running around the ship and fixing it. I think I got to the end, though I'm not completely sure. It says "leave the loop" but I can't think of anything other than quitting the game.

2020-10-11T16-06-31.png

black_box by Fraxle 2020-10-12T14:53:51Z

@fraxle Wow, I can't believe I didn't notice it! Awesome!

MUGEN by GOD COLO 2020-10-10T07:12:23Z

Nice little game, maybe a bit too challenging. Hitting a single wrong-colored enemy seems to undo all your progress. I would make the success/failure ratio closer to 1:1.

DIMENSION LOOP by Danial Jumagaliyev 2020-10-07T04:06:23Z

Yet another awesome game from you! I love how you keep player's interest to the game with various creative gameplay changes, constantly adding something new and unexpected. And it perfectly fits the theme!

The Loop of Death by TheMosterts 2020-10-06T18:33:38Z

Nice top-down shooter, it's cool that you created such a big level with variety of environments.

I like the graphics style and the music is nice.

The game unfortunately started to lag for me when there were lots of enemies, and the guns feel a bit underpowered against all them.

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-06T04:32:27Z

@matchaflavor Yes, unfortunately the game turned out way shorter than I initially planned due to time constraints. I'll keep working on it to add more interesting story and interactions!

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-06T05:13:12Z

@lihpten Thank you so much, it's nice to see some positive feedback! I'm very glad that the atmosphere worked for you, I tried hard to make it appealing. And I was thinking of adding a sprint button myself when I was testing the tunnels, ha ha! I'll do that for sure.

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-06T05:16:07Z

@lihpten And the game is not truly infinite at the moment since it's currently limited by floating-point precision, but I'm planning to fix it.

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-06T05:34:38Z

@dokthar Wow, thanks so much for reporting. Can you tell me what GPU are you using and what distribution are you on? And does it help if you run the executable with `-force-glcore` argument?

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-06T06:22:03Z

@dokthar I've uploaded a version that uses Mono as scripting backend and OpenGL as renderer for maximum compatibility. Though I had strange graphic artifacts with OpenGL, that's why I didn't want to make it default.

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-06T14:46:25Z

@dokthar Sorry about graphic glitches on OpenGL, I'm working to fix them!

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-06T15:47:25Z

@dokthar I've just fixed the glitches, the game should run fine on Linux now!

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-07T04:09:19Z

@klaus-peter Thanks! I'm working on expanding the game with more story!

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-07T15:47:45Z

@danial-jumagaliyev Thank you!

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-08T14:23:33Z

@jonas-michael @vivien-fargette @gonzalol @saurterrs Thanks so much everyone! I agree that the game is a bit short, I really want to expand it with more story.

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-08T14:25:16Z

@vivien-fargette Sorry about the collider issue! I need to redo my first-person controller, because it doesn't currently play well with fast moving objects. Or I could make it so that the train doesn't actually move, but the world around does... We'll see!

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-10T06:39:11Z

@vivien-fargette I've just pushed an update that fixes the collider issue (among other things). I went with the second approach!

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-10T15:41:02Z

@koolruz Thank you, I'm so glad that the game managed to bring you some joy in these hard times!

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-10T18:19:34Z

@kszaku Haha, I literally chose the music 20 minutes before the deadline! I just wanted the game to have *some* music, otherwise it would be kind of boring. And thanks for your ideas, I would love to add some interesting puzzles to the game!

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-11T14:56:15Z

@god-colo Thanks! Yes, all the models were made by me.

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-11T22:43:24Z

@jare Thanks a lot, that's very comforting to hear! The game definitely was too overscoped for a solo project and I'm very glad that I managed to finish it in time. I still would like to make it longer, as I initially planned! There are some ideas that didn't make it to the final product.

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-12T15:44:08Z

@mrbamboo Thanks! I was in such a hurry that I couldn't even come up with proper station names!

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-12T22:36:38Z

@jvdwijk @mikoziq Thank you very much!

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-12T23:45:41Z

@anguss Thanks for playing! I actually want this game to be more of a calming experience, not an horror. Though I guess you could make a great horror out of this!

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-13T20:11:45Z

@codertrevor Thanks a lot for kind and encouraging words!

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-22T03:06:23Z

@fatal-exit Thanks, I'm very glad that you enjoyed it!

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-26T14:54:36Z

@xlomid Thank you!

@jesus-gonzalez The looping is done by moving parts of the level that are behind you forward. I thought about teleports, but I was worried that I couldn't make it smooth (considering that I have to teleport both the train and player inside it).

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-27T00:01:56Z

@island-jam-2-group-3 Thanks! I would definitely like to make it longer.

Tunnels by CosmicPickle 2020-10-13T17:06:14Z

Awesome art style and sound effects, and cool gameplay mechanics that fits the theme pretty well. I like how you unlock movement abilities one by one, reminds me of Ori and the Blind Forest. I managed to complete the game before inserting the 3rd stone, since my character already had the necessary abilities. :grinning:

In A House by LRVStudios 2020-10-27T02:24:34Z

Nice room escape game. Though the music choice is really weird in this one!

I would advice you to use windowed fullscreen mode, because it is usually much more responsive than actual fullscreen.

Dynamics Corporation by GarfSnacks 2020-10-26T19:22:35Z

I liked the intro a lot, it felt very natural, I didn't mind it being long. Though it would be nice to be able to skip it after your hard drive gets reset.

I wouldn't figure out that you can climb the boxes if not for @lazenman's comment. Really nice, I love how much work you put into the surrounding area, how vast it is, even though we only get to see it at the very end.

I think the UI could be smaller, it takes half of the screen, which hurts the experience a bit.

Collateral Damage by Michael Parrish 2020-10-06T19:18:26Z

Very cool idea, graphics and sounds! I enjoyed it a lot! I think you should make it possible to restart the game on Space, so you don't have to move your hands every time on losing.

Codebusters by BroReNata 2020-10-11T15:46:17Z

Awesome puzzle game! The dialogues are funny, and the mechanics is very interesting. The puzzles are challenging but not too much - just like I prefer it!

LD58 — Collector

The Scab by Parxer 2025-10-08T23:13:03Z

Very unique interpretation of the theme. The journal is such cool concept! And the graphics look fantastic. My 3D open-world game was made with Godot too, and I was surprised with how relatively easy it was! It's not as polished as yours visually, but still.

Astraay by Ace17 2025-10-20T23:21:58Z

It's so cool that you made this using your own engine! Very moody space station atmosphere, perhaps even exceedingly so! I concur with others that it's a bit too dark. A brightness slider or a flashlight would go a long way in improving accessibility. But I was still able to find all 6 fragments!

Fun fact: as I was playing the game, a huge lizard quickly crawled on the other side of my window, which spooked me quite a bit. :lizard:

So, 10/10 for immersion

CONTAINMENT BREACH by wisstopher 2025-10-20T22:53:42Z

Very atmospheric! Great pacing and story presentation. I like the simplistic art style, though it felt a bit too dark at times.

@ace17 the game worked great for me on Arch Linux through Wine (with DXVK).

Collecthrow by Rewzu 2025-10-24T01:15:57Z

Very nice concept! I'd love to play this with friends, even though the AI is surprisingly smart! I would argue that the theme is a bit loose, since this game is about holding onto something rather than collecting. But if you think about it as collecting seconds then it starts to make sense. :-)

Squish ! by Starlex3000 2025-10-22T18:42:10Z

Very nice art style and music! The slimes are super cute! But, unfortunately, I'm a terrible slimekeeper that should be fired.

I couldn't figure out how to feed them, so they kept dying from hunger (I think). I planted the berry slime on a farm next to others, but it didn't help. There doesn't seem to be an option to harvest any food from it. Also, I built a house and put some slimes inside, but they still were cold. After the pink slime died I got softlocked, since I couldn't tame any new ones.

When a slime dies, it seems that its station can't be taken by another. I.e. my woodcutter died, I tamed another, but it couldn't stand on the stump where the other woodcutter slime used to be. Same for the berry slime and the pink slime. And I couldn't build new stations because the builder was already busy with a half-finished mine (which I couldn't cancel).

Hope this feedback won't discourage you! I enjoyed the game despite everything, and overall it would be extremely fun if some UX issues were fixed and it was clearer what to do! If you release an update I'd love to give this game another try.

Super Sucker by leorean 2025-10-08T17:45:20Z

Very very cute artstyle and impressive scale of the world! Seems it would take at least 1-2 hours to clear everything. Love the clever moving block puzzles. The music/sounds are awesome!

The Cult-lector by Vhalenn 2025-10-15T16:46:51Z

Wow I feel so bad hahaha. Surely that fire demon is actually nice and won't do anything horrible to babies and puppies, right? Riiight?

But seriously, very impressive for a 72h game! Amazing graphics. Good on you for taking it easy on yourself! I'm always tempted to go for all-nighters on game-jams

Cryptozootography by Jahwffrey 2025-10-21T17:53:35Z

The on-rails movement is a great choice for this game! I enjoyed sitting back and taking pictures, while listening to the funny comments. The one about Bush really got me for some reason  I got 32K, the most expensive ones being of the Bigfoot and Nessie.

Unholy Black Hole by bereg 2025-10-06T04:11:24Z

Very well-polished game! Quite unique idea with directing the crowd. This might sound weird, but I love the little screams haha.

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-06T00:52:13Z

Thanks for such kind words @bereg! Agree with you that the controls could definitely be smoother, especially considering the required precision to land on the branches. There's also an issue with mouse capture on the web build which I'm still solving. But I'm glad that you enjoyed the game anyway!

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-06T12:51:44Z

Thanks @bad-fetus! I wanted actually to add an unstuck button haha, glad that you managed to get out.

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-06T13:03:41Z

I released an update yesterday shortly after (since the jam didn't end yet), fixing the mouse capture issue, adding crosshair, and slowing down the player even more when holding Shift, so that might explain why you had better time with flying. I think I know what you mean by clicking on acorns, they don't get highlighted sometimes even when looking. I'll keep an eye for that!

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-06T21:00:08Z

Thanks @ulziton :-)

Thanks @mrv! I placed the oak trees a bit sparingly to encourage exploration, glad that you were able to find them!

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-07T01:07:05Z

Thank you @pschichtel, it's the biggest game world I made so far :-)

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-07T02:16:20Z

@matthew-rose happy to find another acorn woodpecker enjoyer haha! And 20 acorns isn't too shabby! Since other family members collect acorns as well, there should be plenty for everybody. ;-)

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-07T03:15:56Z

Glad that you liked the ambience @johnstarich! I actually had an idea to slow down automatically near trees, but then I thought it'd take longer to takeoff. So I just settled on manual slowdown with Shift. But I should probably revisit the idea!

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-07T05:04:50Z

Totally understandable @threeli! Holding space is actually what I wanted to do initially, but I really enjoyed the flappy-bird like controls during testing, so I kept it. But it probably turned out to be not the best decision due to the required precision to collect acorns.

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-07T13:35:14Z

Thanks @skeler, I'm happy that you found the game engaging :-)

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-07T13:35:50Z

Thanks for sharing the screenshot @8212games! Congrats on 13 acorns!

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-07T13:36:29Z

Thanks for the feedback @le-don! This is something I thought about as well. The current acorn placement encourages traveling back and forth to the same tree, which is not ideal for a game (even though that's what woodpeckers do in real life). Maybe I should allow collecting multiple acorns at once, or spawn only 1-3 acorns per tree. I'll try it out after the jam!

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-07T22:49:46Z

Thank you @pimeko <3

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-08T02:44:11Z

I'm so happy you both enjoyed getting lost in the game world @accardo @web-gnar! That's honestly the entire point of the game. I just added the timer for the sake of having some sort of tangible goal haha.

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-08T03:26:16Z

Thanks @yichen :-)

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-08T22:51:27Z

Thanks @andriybyelikov! The game definitely isn't as optimized as it could be, and the controls could be more precise. But I glad that you enjoyed it anyway!

Thank you @gonulgaye!

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-15T23:47:04Z

@vhalenn AHAHAH I was wondering whether someone will actually try going out of bounds.

I will experiment with gathering multiple acorns! Maybe it will be an unlockable ability. Thanks for playing and having fun in my game!

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-18T15:17:08Z

Thanks @tanis, the controls definitely need some love haha!

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-22T16:49:15Z

Thanks @larazofia! Not a skill issue. Controls is the biggest complaint this game receives. Even though I got pretty used to them as the developer.

Acorny Business by Theo Ratkin 2025-10-23T00:52:30Z

@omiya-games thanks for such a candid and detailed feedback, with practical suggestions on improving the controls! Collection by collision is a particularly great idea!

Lambball by rainybyte 2025-10-22T16:38:38Z

Very cute game, nice graphics, and the sounds are just top-notch! Pretty cool idea with walling off sheep/wolves.

Metal Undergrowth by KenForest 2025-10-10T15:46:30Z

I loved it so much! Such a gloomy, but still somewhat cozy atmosphere. So much fun collecting different kinds of cleverly designed bugs and the addicting upgrade mechanics. And very nice 3D art-style with pixel-art textures! This is something I tried in my game as well, but I'm yet to learn to reproduce this design on such a cohesive level. Congrats on making such a cool and polished game!

Predincament by Threeli 2025-10-07T02:07:22Z

The pixel art in this game is so cute! Love the silly alien creatures and their funny dialogues.

Scrap Soul by DocStep 2025-10-12T20:45:57Z

Honestly very unusual and atmospheric! I love the sense of scale from the skyscrapers, and very impressive lighting! I actually completed it 2 times to see if I can find the core on the 2nd run (but alas). I agree that the walking is quite slow, even though it adds a bit to the experience of being a rusty robot. Perhaps you could set walking to the current running speed, and increase running speed 2-3x. Also very cool cutscene at the end!

20251012_16h24m24s_grim.png

Scrap Soul by DocStep 2025-10-22T22:47:12Z

Hey, I just gave the updated version a try and I can see you increased the running speed and extended the final cut-scene! Pretty cool! I wonder if you plan on continuing the story, because you got me intrigued about what will happen next.

Dan The Beaver's Dam by Daniel Chung 2025-10-12T20:15:16Z

I actually considered making a beaver game for this jam, glad to see someone else has done it! Very lovely scenery, and a cute beaver model! Definitely wish this game had sounds. I also think it would be better if the logs were more spread out in the forest. But I still very enjoyed the art style and the ambience. Great job!

Wow, did not expect the voice acting and those smooth transitions! Very impressive for a jam game.

I also learned a valuable lesson from the story: if there's a game I really want but can't get, I shouldn't resort to causing natural disasters. Thanks!

Butterfly Gathering by UniOwl 2025-10-15T16:09:40Z

Very calming game, love the butterfly journal idea! I agree that it gets a bit boring after you've planted all the flowers. I wonder if this would have worked better as an idler game? I.e. make butterfly collection automatic and instead focus on the upgrade system that increases their quantity, rarity chance, etc.

WonderBot: A Lofty Return by mortusnegati 2025-10-24T02:17:00Z

This is so overwhelmingly cute! I mean, REALLY, a cute pillow-eating robot vacuum and a CAT on top of it? Who can say NO to THAT?

The gameplay is incredibly addicting. There's just something inherently satisfying about leaving a trail of cleanness behind. The upgrade system works wonders  for motivation, increasing the cleaning efficiency and freedom of movement as you unlock more and more.

Fantastic job everyone, loved every moment of your game!

Interstellar Collector by Baluj 2025-10-08T03:51:10Z

Absolutely charming space game! Reminded me quite a bit of Outer Wilds (arguably my favorite game ever)! It's really cool that you made an actual solar system simulation! It's a bit challenging to fly on the planets, since the ship isn't affected by their gravity, but understandable given the limited jam time. I had fun flying around abducting little shape guys. Thanks for making this! Would love to see a full version of this game.

Give It Back! by Melissa Stodolnik 2025-10-07T13:47:30Z

Doesn't open for me either, that's too bad, because the game looks great! Please ping me when it's available, I'd like to play it.

Give It Back! by Melissa Stodolnik 2025-10-08T17:27:32Z

Very straightforward runner, I enjoyed it! It took some getting used to to the jumping and the hitboxes, but I was able to beat the game on the second try. I noticed that the obstacles sprites are a bit blurry, you probably need to disable linear interpolation for them, and the character is stuttering a bit when running. But otherwise I really liked the artstyle! Also love the story dialogue in the description - very well-written! Thanks for the ping @t-c!

Wasteland Workshop by Ulziton 2025-10-06T21:55:06Z

Oh wow! This is SO well-polished! Very nice cel shading graphics, super cool steampunky UI styling. The 2D customers look awesome and blend surprisingly well with the environment!

I love different interaction types with the objects (assembling, polishing, dipping in water), very satisfying. The occasional roof trips add a nice gameplay variety. I only wish the hatch stayed open while I'm on the roof haha. Lots of fun trinkets to repair and collect. You even included an interactive tutorial!

I actually played 2 times, got the bunny and then the dollhouse. :-) This is one of the best games I've played yet on this jam. Fantastic job everyone!

Collector`s Insomnia by MrV 2025-10-06T18:46:01Z

WOW, what a beautiful game! I assume you are still in the process of finishing touches/uploading, since there's only a non-live web build at this page (which I was able to run locally), and the character keeps getting stuck on a previous screen. Please ping me when everything's ready, I'd love to play it until the end!

Collector`s Insomnia by MrV 2025-10-06T22:16:46Z

@mrv just finished it, quite enjoyable platformer with nice variety of movement mechanics! I liked the level design, it was just challenging enough to keep things interesting and not frustrating. And of course the art is really beautiful!

Collect or die by Skeler 2025-10-06T19:25:03Z

Wow, I didn't expect such detailed levels! The truck was difficult to handle at first, but it got easier when I figured out that you can hit breaks with Space. Honestly impressive game for such a short period! Also, the Discord sound has thrown me off for a moment haha.

THE HUNTER by victoneix 2025-10-06T18:06:10Z

The level design is genuinely so good! Each level gives a good challenge with cleverly placed traps and enemies, requiring several tries to master, while not being overly difficult to the point of frustration. Also THANKS SO MUCH for the quick restart button and not making the players wait several seconds between retries.

The art is also very well-chosen! By the way, I think you should clarify in the description that RGS_DEV only created the art. Currently it can be misinterpreted that they are creator of the game.

Stargazer by ProtoHere 2025-10-06T19:58:05Z

What a relaxing game! Love the little constellation journal with quotes! They aren't hard to remember, and getting one is very satisfying. I noticed a small issue - the stars can appear behind the score text and they aren't clickable. It's not a big deal though. Great job!

30 Seconds Till Winter by RazerLazer 2025-10-06T22:42:48Z

ECHÆRA – The Silent Painter by Crowelian 2025-10-06T16:27:51Z

Such a beautiful and relaxing experience! Love the way the story is presented as you make the world more and more colorful. And the music, despite being made by AI, is quite mesmerizing.

My only complaint is that some text fades too quickly, at some points I had to pause to actually read it. But I still enjoyed the game very much. Fantastic job!

Signal Blast by smilewood 2026-04-21T05:31:13Z

This sucked me in for a good hour! What this game lacks in visuals, it more than makes up for with gameplay. I like the idea that every upgrade comes with a new enemy or increases the occurrence of existing ones - I haven't seen that in any survivor-like games before. Beacons as permanent upgrade paths are an interesting idea too. Great job making such a complete survivor-like in only 72 hours!

Deep In Debt by Echo Team 2026-04-28T19:45:01Z

This seems like a really well-made game, I love the premise and the graphics are really great. But unfortunately I had a few UX issues that prevented me from enjoying it properly.

1. Lack of fullscreen option, without which the game is too tiny and hard to see in the dark due to contrasting bright Ludum Dare website.

2. The game seems to have problems registering the WASD input. The movement was really weird for me as a result. Holding down W just moves me a little bit, so I had to spam it. Holding shift helps sometimes and allows me to hold W, but still is very unreliable. This prevented me from using the upgrade app as well, since it relies on W and S for scrolling. I was playing on Chromium on Linux if it's relevant.

With these issues resolved I feel this would be one of my favorite games of the jam!

Lost Signal by williambsm 2026-04-22T00:54:01Z

Really cool platformer! Impressive how many platforming mechanics you managed to implement in just 72 hours. The grappling hook took a bit getting used to, but was fun to play with it once I figured it out! I managed to find the signal pretty quickly on my first run

Kepler-186f by wisstopher 2026-04-28T14:40:35Z

This seems like a really well-polished game, I love the simple art style, and the in-game tutorial texts are very welcome! It's really impressive for a compo entry. But unfortunately, I got stuck at the "Weapon" chapter, it's not clear what to do in an open area with the enemy (the one on the first screenshot). Also, the game is a bit too dark at times, the shadows are pitch black for me. Not sure if it's intended or just my monitor settings.

Solar Signals by pmarincak 2026-04-30T05:49:45Z

Deep Sea by Enver Arco 2026-04-28T22:03:56Z

This game sucked me in for more than an hour! While the pacing is a bit slow and, as others said, an increased speed would be better, I still really loved the atmosphere of dread and uncertainty as you go deeper, and I found the upgrade system well thought-out overall. Also loved how massive and detailed the level is, really impressive for a jam game! Some feedback:

- A background music would immediately up the immersion! - I think that at least a small radius around the submarine should be always visible, because I often found myself staring at a black screen when trying to save energy, which is not the most fun thing! - It seems like player loses all progress on dying, which is very painful for a game with a big time investment such as this one. I recommend letting the player respawn instead.

One of my favorite games from this jam, great job!

deep_sea_you_win.png

Pheromone by Croped 2026-04-25T06:59:07Z

Very cool puzzle idea! For some levels the solution was much simpler than it seemed at first (usually just going in a circle for a bit), which I like a lot in puzzle games! Beat all 10 levels.

Earth Assimilation Readiness Protocol by PurpledArtFrog 2026-04-25T20:03:34Z

This took a few tries but I got the hang of it! Basically the entire game I was looking at signal readings at the bottom and ignoring any signals with "False Signal" of more than 40%, and whose activity/radiation level was dropping after a rescan. Several times I just used my gut. Not sure if it's the best strategy, but it worked for me  Generally, I had quite a bit of fun once I got past the learning curve. Very well thought-out game, great job! Also I loved the art style and the music.

Crat by deadroach 2026-04-25T06:41:44Z

Loved the premise and the art style - funny and cute! The gameplay gets very intense very fast, which I think is good for this kind of game. The upgrade mechanics is nice (genius idea putting an upgrade for losing instantly). I got 37800. 20260425_02h34m50s_grim.png

Kittenbaticorn by UkuleleFury 2026-04-24T00:51:52Z

This is insanely impressive that you built a complete 2D voxel world with physics in a compo entry! I really loved the echolocation/frequency mechanics where different frequencies affect different blocks/enemies. The pixel art is beautiful and the Kittenbaticorn is super cute. One of my favorite compo games so far!

I Had No Signal! by fabelay 2026-04-25T19:09:58Z

This was pretty intense even though I never saw the monster up close (I got killed on the first attempt, on the second I only saw it disappearing around a corner). I liked the knocked-over sign detail. The art style reminds me of old indie horror games in a really nostalgic way! It's very sweet seeing games developed by couples. Best of luck to you two!

The Last Transmition by Ivan Grigoriev 2026-05-06T00:06:17Z

Really cool idea with matching the waves! The art is great, though I'm also curious if it's entirely human made or not. My score is 690.

Guiding Signal by Kevin Meissner 2026-04-25T21:26:23Z

This is the most beautiful game I have played in this jam so far! The gameplay mechanics is very nice, I liked navigating the ships with the towers. I think a fast-forward button would be really useful, since a lot of times I had to wait to see whether the new towers produce the desired effect. Also it's a bit hilarious that the ships just crash after selling the goods. Like, "thanks for making me money, I don't need you anymore, bye"

Jammed! by bereg 2026-04-20T23:04:31Z

Really nice art style and gameplay! It's harder to aim with a fixed turret, but somehow it (+ nice sound effects) makes hitting the enemies and the combat more satisfying. EMP bomb looks cool and helps a lot, even though it seems you could easily abstain from using it. Overall very impressive for 48 hours! I need a longer version of this game, because I only completed it in around 2 minutes on the first try

LoS: Linked by Theo Ratkin 2026-04-20T05:16:19Z

@sinemual I appreciate that you gave it your best shot despite the frustrating controls! I intentionally made them a bit hard to encourage placing more relays, but I can see how that can take away from the fun. I guess the L-shaped ship doesn't help much either  Though I had quite a bit of fun doing different maneuvers with it.

LoS: Linked by Theo Ratkin 2026-04-20T21:43:50Z

LoS: Linked by Theo Ratkin 2026-04-20T22:46:55Z

@zyertdox thank you! You are probably right about the ship form, it's a bit frustrating to cross small gaps between the asteroids because of it. I would've gone with a different profile for the ship now. I noticed though that the solar array wing often helped me with scooping scrap I wouldn't otherwise easily reach (without losing signal).

LoS: Linked by Theo Ratkin 2026-04-21T04:11:59Z

@matt-giuca that's odd, you should be able to place a relay anywhere by pressing Space/Enter/Z after you bought it near the station (with the Space/Enter/Z as well). You know that you bought it because it starts following your ship until you place it.

LoS: Linked by Theo Ratkin 2026-04-21T04:17:25Z

@haln thanks for taking the time to learn how to maneuver with that awkward wing. It's not easy, but I found it fun once I got used to it! But the controls definitely need tweaking.

@smilewood wow, it's so cool that you actually beat it! You're the first person to do so as far as I'm aware. I'm happy that you enjoyed it so much despite the quirky controls!

The intermittent connection thing wasn't intentional at first, but I kept it for the exact reason you described. It doesn't happen on all seeds though

LoS: Linked by Theo Ratkin 2026-04-22T00:32:29Z

@rucksack thank you! I intended the controls to be a bit difficult but it looks like I've overdone it haha. Thanks for such a lovely comment @w2k, I'm happy the game resonated with you!

I agree about the camera. The tricky part is that I wanted the player to always understand the line of sight between the ship and the station, so zooming in too much can hide important context. But a minimap, split view, or smarter zoom behavior (such as keeping the closest relay in view) might help. I'll think about it!

The Depths Listen by Forik 2026-05-01T00:17:58Z

This is insanely good and well-polished. I loved the intense atmosphere and the puzzles. I was especially impressed by the extremely well-made level and the art style, but I noticed you opted-out of the graphics category, so I assume the level was made before the jam or by somebody else? Either way, great job!

HeliRescue by darkshadow 2026-04-26T15:30:29Z

Simple but fun game, I enjoyed using the audio signal to locate people and reeling in several people at once. The pixel art is nice, I especially liked the helicopter sprite, but I noticed that the ocean/helicopter/people aren't quite pixel-consistent, which would've made it look even better! Overall very nice for a compo entry!

FINDER-1 by richjbaron 2026-04-20T04:05:59Z

Very atmospheric game but I completely suck at making out the shapes haha. I had to spam-click or use hints most of the time. The writing is really great, even though I'm pretty sure it's AI (which I don't mind).

P.S. As others said, the Itch.io link doesn't work, but I was able to play the game full-screen by opening [this link](https://files.jam.host/embed/$425524/46790/index.html) (you can get it from inspect element).

FINDER-1 by richjbaron 2026-04-20T20:17:57Z

@richjbaron I stand corrected! You are not bad at writing at all, I was actually really impressed by it. I just got thrown off by some wording that sounded very AI-like. Turns out you're just someone who's very knowledgeable about the topic. Outstanding job!

a Saunter by kukaracila215 2026-04-25T20:28:19Z

Creepy disappearing boy and very sus cabin aside, the game is genuinely incredibly chill - nice scenery, nature sounds and guitar music. The graphics reminded me of old N64 games, giving it a very nostalgic feel. I would've loved to spend more time in this world if there had been a few more things to do!

Radar Runnings by tenthousandfireants 2026-04-20T04:48:42Z

I read your devlog on Itch.io, interesting concept! I feel like a compass would be potentially useful, because I kept losing myself when trying to turn to the direction the radar briefly passed by. But I was still able to find both the nice green blob and the evil red blob (which promptly destroyed me)

The Dark Spots in Space by babyfoodstudios 2026-04-26T04:35:19Z

This is seriously good. I got so invested that I spent 2-3 hours completing the entire game. I loved piecing together the story and cross-referencing the entries to figure out the words. Kind of reminded me of Outer Wilds!

NORTH-5 by rezonanc 2026-04-20T21:42:10Z

Ohhh finally a game where my terminal skills come in handy! Love the idea, really satisfying to scan, move around the grid and hearing that crisp explosion sound after every `fire` command. One QoL addition I would request: make the numbers in the movement commands optional. If the number is ommitted, just move 1 cell in specified direction. Also would be nice if the game explicitly said that it's paused when you are viewing emails, because at first I rushed to read through them. Or you could split the game into runs and show emails between them. Really cool concept overall and I can see how it could be greatly expanded with new commands and enemies!

Really cool puzzle platformer concept! I liked traffic lights mechanic, the memorization level with same-colored green platforms, and time rewinding with blue light.

One thing I that believe would immediately improve the game look is if background had some slight texture. I understand though that you were mostly focused on gameplay during the 48 hours.

Either way, congrats on your first jam game, this is super impressive!

I got 05:00:46, not sure if it's better or worse than the other commenters

Without Brakes by Shernik 2026-04-28T14:09:24Z

I really liked the graphics! I don't mind the high difficulty, I like how straight to the point it is. In Subway Surfers you'd have to play for 10-15 minutes for it to start actually getting challenging, which feels really stretched out to me. I think it'd be nice if you could also use arrows to switch lanes.

Also please tell me I'm not the only one who sees an amogus 😭

Tamarid Mission by galareteg 2026-05-05T14:31:40Z

I love the concept and it's so cool that you made the voiceovers! But unfortunately, already at the 2nd recording I got stuck? I set the correct altitude and azimuth, but the satellite doesn't get targeted. It says "Aprox.", so I tried changing the numbers a little in both directions, but didn't have any luck. Not really sure what to do apart from trying to bruteforce it, which would be very tedious.

Signal Strength by NikiProT 2026-04-29T04:23:50Z

Quite a chill game, I liked walking in the forest and searching towers

Snowstorm by mathemagics 2026-05-06T19:31:09Z

Nice and simple game! I like the atmosphere. A pixel-consistent art would've made it feel even more polished. I managed to get to the last tower without firing a single shot by evading spiders :-) Overall really impressive for a 36-hour game!

Small Among Storms by ShanzPro 2026-04-23T05:07:44Z

Really beautiful pixel art and quite an original idea of listening for danger! I didn't expect to get hit by lightning, what an unlucky squirrel 🥲

The graphics and the HUD are really pretty, and the enemy cloaking idea is interesting! I wonder what is sensor analysis (bottom right panel) for? Does it help you understand what kind of enemies are close by or their attack patterns?

Here's my highscore

Cell Clicker by Floonace 2026-05-02T05:21:07Z

I love the idea of cell signals as a theme, this seems like a very cool educational concept! But unfortunately the game feels unbalanced. It took a few speedrun attempts to get 10000 to buy the VEGF formula, and by the time I got it I was already overwhelmed with red (what I assume cancer) cells, while the VEGF signal itself only eliminates a small area.

Also I didn't immediately realize that you had to actually drag the groups to craft the signal, which I found a bit tedious - I suggest switching it to autocrafting.

I feel like with some balancing and UX polish this would be a really cool idler!

Lonely Crossway by polyvishap 2026-04-20T03:27:50Z

Wow, super impressive for 12 hours! Nice atmosphere, felt a bit like backrooms. I got 26 traffic lights. And btw I accidentally learned about the "thing" ahead of time from the logs since I ran the game from a terminal :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Deadly Cliffs by Michl Bayer 2026-04-20T22:38:09Z

Really really well executed game! It sells the lighthouse fantasy pretty well; I enjoyed controlling the light with cranks and using the horn. A few difficulties I had:

- I accidentally skipped some tutorial text (I didn't expect that clicking anywhere would skip it) and didn't realize that you need to press the start button. I tried at first to navigate the ship that was swimming in the bay and wondered why it didn't react

- It's not entirely clear how to guide several ships at once, since they have different starting positions and speeds. It seems you always have to pick one and have all others crash, which is a bit unsatisfying.

- The top floor gives a better view but is a bit pointless, since you can't access the radar, the mop and horn from there.

Those are really nitpicks and didn't make the game any less enjoyable for me. Very polished game and super impressive for a 3-day jam!
