I cannot not bear to look at you my child

I quickly experienced severe motion sickness—the camera was way too close to the ground. Still, this is a solid attempt, and building a freely explorable world during a jam is undoubtedly bold! Even if the result seems less than ideal, I really admire your courage. Everyone has to start somewhere, and not everyone can nail perfection right from the beginning! It'll definitely be better next time.

@ping this is our fifth jam...

That guy in the house is kinda sus. I like the car with the spherical wheels.

There's almost nothing in this game, but it works. in the sense that it is interesting to go through it. It's amazing to me. suddenly, a nice, enjoyable project. the car is wonderful. I didn't understand why the man was waving his hand next to the bushes. like

First off, I very rarely see large explorable worlds like this in game jams, so kudos for that! I like the sound design too - the whole game is very relaxing.

To be honest though, there's not really much of a game. The world is nearly entirely empty and I have no ways of interacting with it is a player. Now, games don't have to have action gameplay to be fun. They can be puzzle-based, or even just be about vibes like this. There are lots of popular games out there where you basically just walk around (I'm thinking Journey for some reason).

I think you could make this kind of game work by either adding some level of narrative, or even just more fun secrets to find around the game. There were a few here - for example, I thought the "I dare you to jump" sign was funny. Except, when I actually did jump, nothing happened (I didn't even drown, I could just walk on the water). You need more interesting things to find in the world, and some way for the player to *affect* those things, because otherwise it feels very sterile. Maybe there are people you can actually talk to, and they need your help with something. Maybe there are items to hunt for. Maybe something's going on in that cabin other than just a meme. Lots of possibilities!

Nice atmosphere though. I think you have a good start here :)

I saw sussy baka amogus staring at a sus picture in his beach cabin then unc waved his hand at me twice. Overall a pleasant experience.

Creepy disappearing boy and very sus cabin aside, the game is genuinely incredibly chill - nice scenery, nature sounds and guitar music. The graphics reminded me of old N64 games, giving it a very nostalgic feel. I would've loved to spend more time in this world if there had been a few more things to do!

Enjoyable and relaxing, perfect for unwinding.

Not much here, bit it was a relaxing moment. The foliage was nice and the music chill. Something was badly broken with the mouse look, it was slower when facing some directions. I did jump off the cliff.

Can you export for MacOS?

Weird and I like it.

I was expecting something terrifying to happen to me or the child, but I was met with a peaceful little walk through a forest. The water shader looked nice when on the beach(not from the cliffs).

Also, I loved the car in the beginning, beautiful peace of engineering right thurr

I jumped, I sat, I laughed, I cried. The waving boy brought a tear to my eye. I do enjoy the lofi aesthetic, especially when it comes to lowpoly beaches. Something hauntingly serene about them. Fun little walking simulator to explore in, not much else to say really. Keep making stuff!

A haunted forest inhabited by a boy who appears and disappears instantly... What happened to the boy?
