Loved the art, the audio on the wolves is pretty funny.

pigeonescu 2025-10-06 22:18

aaargh, funny wolves :))

The other day I was thinking about the good old game "Qix", and how it could be interesting to create a modern version of it.

And then I stumbled upon your game now! Really creative take on the genre, and certainly a fun one.

kallico 2025-10-06 23:13

@kristian-kurktchiev CHOMP CHOMP :D

I could not take my eyes away when I first started playing. Closing of the level let me skip ahead to later levels. After a while I left it running and around level 60 my score would plummet in a flurry of wolf slurps. I don't know how I'd make the volume even out when there are that many entities, but the cheerful music complements the gameplay well. Great teamwork.

Funny game, but hard to understand at first

kayrum 2025-10-07 21:23

Great execution of the core game mechanic quite challenging to separate the wolves from the sheep. great job.

ciphereo 2025-10-08 06:16

Funny game!

eugenik 2025-10-09 11:19

Cute game, liked it! =3.

rogaven 2025-10-10 19:58

Nice game. I'm not sure I figured out how to win the level

thoastbot 2025-10-11 09:38

There it is!

Was seeing your game during ludumdare post some art and was really looking forward to playing the game :D

Those sheep are god damn fluffy!!! :3

Overall great game, love the music and especially the sounds - both really fitting. Gameplay feels good, no bugs encountered!

Only little thing to maybe change, i had times where the level started and i instantly lost a live cause a wolf spawned on, or right beside a sheep, that didn't feel great - maybe you could always place the wolfes a bit away from the sheeps to prevent that.

But thats just nitpicking cause i really liked the game :3 overall you did really good, art to audio to code, all working together greatly, well done!

This is solid. I like the difficulty progression. I loved the gameplay and audio. Art was good too.

daniboygg 2025-10-11 21:29

I liked the double mechanic, wolves/sheep. sound effects, for these kinds of game jams are the best . It took me a while to realize the lives and how to lose them.

Little tip: to avoid the font to be blurry in this kind of pixel art games is better to use a pixel font (they usually come at 8 pixels height and can scale in powers of 2 without being blurry: 8, 16, 32)

blackcat508 2025-10-11 22:28

pretty cool mechanics!

eliasou 2025-10-11 23:22

Had a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing!

kallico 2025-10-12 13:22

@thoastbot that's so cool you saw my mock up art and remembered our game!! :id:

This is our 2nd jam actually! Our previous game was way over scoped and we didn't manage to have something cohesive finished by the deadline. This time we kept things simple and I think everything came together so well.

I think if we publish a post jam version we'll end up fixing all the things like being able to trivially end a level by closing off the gate, or the spawn locations for the sheep and wolfs like you mentioned.

Thank you so much for playing! :)

kallico 2025-10-12 13:24

@nbumgardner surviving to lvl 60 that's awesome dude. All those wolfsie slurps must have been amazing to hear haha

marudziik 2025-10-14 12:02

I think the scope of the game is great for LD format, the sounds are funny and the gameplay is generally fine.

It took me forever to get that I need to click *and drag* to get a line in the desired direction. I mean it's written right in the description, I just missed it - but ideally, a click (when the cursor is showing as 2 crossed lines) should not register as a vertical/horizontal drag.

Having understood that, the game was quite fun. I like that you thought of two ways a player can compete in (positive/negative score) - the problem with that is the negative score is significantly easier to obtain (just by doing nothing). In later levels its basically not possible to put any line anywhere. 🐺

Anyways, I've had lots of fun! 🐑 Congrats!

a very cute game ! gameplay feel new !

Sweet little game :3 the art and sound are really great. Gameplay is also nice^^ I just dont like the score system / progress. In later levels you sometimes spawn and wolves instantly eats half of the horde. And negativ score is too punishing right now. Besides that, sick!

toxoplasma 2025-10-18 16:18

What a great game! The graphics and sound effects are simply magnificent. I like how the difficulty gradually increases and creates challenges. I enjoyed playing!:)

ingi 2025-10-22 11:49

A pleasant game with an interesting idea. I didn’t immediately understand the goal, but it became clear after playing a bit longer. The game gets quite challenging in the later levels, especially when the wolf balls start spawning on the right side near the exit.

theoratkin 2025-10-22 16:38

Very cute game, nice graphics, and the sounds are just top-notch! Pretty cool idea with walling off sheep/wolves.

alchemic 2025-10-24 08:14

This is a pretty neat spin on a qix-like. There's a lot of attention to detail here that might go unnoticed at first. I particularly like how the sheep get "cleaned up" when sectioned off, but the wolves don't. Overall very fun to play with, I just with the level design was a bit more fleshed out.

rainybyte 2025-10-24 11:55

Thank you to everyone for playing our game, and for your kind comments and constructive criticism! I'm happy to see that all of the weak points in the present implementation of the game (static door, being able to skip levels, randomized placement causing player frustration, and unbalanced lategame) are on our radar as "things we wish we had time for". I think that 3:1 sheep:wolf ratio worked well, but that totally random placement made things too arbitrary, and maybe we could design a solution around that, at least for where the wolves spawn. From there it would be mostly polish and such. If we work on it in the future, maybe that's where we start, followed by an art overhaul :)
