I loved the innovation and humor in this game. Making a game funny and fun at the same time is hard, but this pulls it off really well. Definitely one of the best humor games I have played.
I think the graphics are really good too! While they are somewhat quirky, the background is actually quite nice, and the UI is well done. The particle animations around the ball and text are a really nice tough too.
The music is fantastic. It really adds so much to the humor and fun of the game. It is so satisfying when the ball is hit and the nice sound plays. Nice touch.
Overall, very enjoyable game. A lot of fun to play and just to watch! Good job, and congrats for finishing the Ludum Dare!
As others have said, the game is overall pretty good but feels very unpolished.
Making a full 3D survival game in 72 hours is impossible, and of course you need to take shortcuts to get it done. Unfortuantly, I think the shortcuts that you took really hurt the gameplay experience. When it comes to zombie survival games, the most important thing is the graphics and the gameplay. In terms of graphics, I don't think they are that bad. But, the main problem is in the gameplay.
Overall, the gameplay just seems like it wasn't tested enough, or you didn't bother to fix any of the major problems. The zombies have far too much health, getting ammunition is almost impossible, for some reason zombies can't attack you when you are moving (which is most of the time!), the spawn locations are inconsistent and in weird places, and there are no instructions on what to do or where to go. It honestly just seems like you took too many shortcuts on the gameplay and didn't spend enough time really polishing it and making it fun.
Besides that, the game is overall a pretty good first submission. The concept is somewhat interesting, I liked the music, and it still was kind of fun, even with the gameplay issues. Good jobs, and congrats for finishing your first Ludum Dare!
Nice game. The art was good, and the game was very polished visually. I assume the music was borrowed from somewhere since you opted out of Audio, but the choice of music was good and went well with the mood. The story was powerful and bittersweet. It touched not only on coming to terms with death and loss, but also with the physical and mental toll being a provider or caregiver can be. The writing was simple but powerful.
I will say that it would have been nice to have a bit more control over the story. It felt like there were a lot of dialog options, but the story didn’t really chance course until the very end based on your choices. Although obviously there’s only so much you can make in 72 hours.
One final note, looking at the credits, I’m surprised that you had two artists on the team (one for UI) and had everything come together so smoothly. Great work overall, and congrats for finishing the Ludum Dare!

Overall: Very unique and interesting game. Liked the concept and idea, execution was done clearly with experience and very well. Fun: Pretty fun game, although it can get a bit repetitive over time, but that is the nature of simple games like this. I do like the 2 different endings because it adds at least some variety and replayability to your game. Easy to learn and have fun quickly, but not sustainable long term. Innovation: I would say it is a very innovative game! Although it is simple, the idea of day/night is cool, and I have never seen that sort of thing before. Theme: It does fit the theme well. You are delaying the inevitable by trying to sleep for a just a little longer...good match of the theme. Graphics: This is the definitely the best part of the game. The graphics are amazing! Really liked the hand drawn style and animations. Its really nice to see people putting a lot of effort into hand drawing graphics like this. Audio: Nice audio. Enough to make the game feel polished and add a little bit of extra enjoyment. Humor: I think the concept itself is pretty funny. It is a dragon trying to chase the sun to get more sleep. Pretty silly and unique. Mood: The mood mostly comes from the hand drawn graphics, which I think are fantastic. The mood is overall pretty good. Great game overall, and congrats for finishing a Ludum Dare!
