Really nice game, like the graphics and turn based game

Interesting idea to have the two sides have different movement types. I could see some fun strategies emerging about how to block in the harvester, or how to plan your movement as the harvester not to get stuck. Cool idea.

Cool game, i like the imbalance in the design, that the beasts are more mobile, but the harvester can stun them. The ai does move a little bit random tho, after playing i just let the computer play against itself and some of the beasts just wandered of on the side, while the harvester was continously bullying one of them around :joy: But i guess making a competitive ai isn't really within the time limitations, so you're good. Enjoyed the game, good job

I like the concept of the asymmetrical game! Graphics were also nice. I do recommend lowering the amount of graphics on the screen when the player has to read the instruction text, cause it was a bit distracting.

@zluca Thank you for your earnest comment. Due to time limit we didn't make a smart AI. we are going to explore more talented AI for the two kinds of pieces. We also wanted to set a mode that both sides have harvesters and beasts.

Great game!

- Quite alot of text to take in on the first screen (consider "serving it" sequential, so there's not too much to process at once) - Wasn't very clear on how to close the initial help screen text - Select pieces was not clear on what that meant (e.g. select with what type of input) - Would be nice to highlight the End Turn when nothing else is possible to be done on your turn - Wasn't obvious that you needed to press End Turn twice to end a complete turn (aka you can move again) - Unsure why it was required to use the mouse (just to select yourself?), possibly consider to use the selection via keyboard (unless i misunderstood how the game was played...) - Took me a while to manage to set the game in CPU / AI mode (consider making this the default) - Pretty cool that you could play hotseat with a friend - Music was short but felt like it fitted the game well

Fun take on the theme overall and pretty cool to see Flash games being made still!

Nice asymmetric gameplay, maybe the tutorial is a bit confusing at first (too much text, too many information at once).

1. This game is marked as Quarantined on itch. That is why it have so little ratings received. Probably because it is flash. You should fit that, game deserves more reviews. 2. Thank you for allowing anonymous comments. 3. Game is simple but elegant, I think you should make it table-top with real figures. It may be very profitable, it is great in it's simplicity.

@bradu We appreciate you for so much constructive comment. I was obsessed with Flash when I was a kid, and it's quick to implement small ideas with Flash. We were in a bit of a rush, so we didn't fix some UI issues that we have noticed. Clearer representation of the end of a turn and pure mouse/keyboard controls should make the experience smoother.

The graphics of this game used the image in a famous Chinese story: a boy raised a steel fork to drive away the badgers from the melon field. I tried to make the image more interesting, but it turns out to be a little noisy.

And thank the anonymous of caring about the comment progress! Your advice about table-top is enlightening. I actually quite like to design table-top games. We just discussed whether the table-top version should be delicate or simple (like those Print & Play games).

Great game, nicely done! Congrats :)

Really good looking visuals and nice music. Gameplay is also fun. Good job!

Good job with this interesting idea.

Everything seemed to work as intended, even though some features like the ability to set an AI or when to end turn were not super intuitive. I agree with most points from bradu.

One thing I noticed immediately is that the tutorial screen being transparent and seeing the instructions and the board at the same time right on start up was fairly overwhelming.

digivorix 2023-01-27 07:52

I like this little turn-based game, although it is a little overwhelming when it first starts up. I also couldn't figure out how to change it from manual control to computer control for the opposing side for a while. I would definitely recommend making the instructions clearer. Apart from that though, it's a neat little game. I was also very surprised to see that it was built in Flash. I thought my Windows Explorer was bugging out the icon for a second there lol.
