The art looks awesome and i love the super high jumps, i wish there was a health bar to help the player how much damage they can risk taking, but i still had lots of fun

Really liked the character and monster art!
Nice artwork, animations and level design!
I think I beat the game! I got the key and reached the door. I like the countdown being a looming threat to always keep moving. It took me a bit to realize that I didn't have health, but enemies were taking my time away! I do like that the enemies flash red when hit, it would be hard to tell otherwise. The gameplay was usually the same in each room, though having three enemy types is good enough for a game like this.
I would have liked to be able to control my jump height a bit more to have a bit more strategy in combat. Overall good work!
I loved the graphics and the time as health mechanic. Very cool game, well done!
nice, well done.
Neat blend of 2d/3d art assets! I like the glow from the flowers/torches/chandeliers (and the animated candle flame is a nice detail). the atmosphere in general is nice and spooky w/ the tattered cloth drapes and little drains in the brick walls. It's nice that there's no confusion - the enemies and player stand out well, I never lost track of where I was on the screen.
Great job with the character and enemy sprites, I really like how they look.
I got as far as finding a key, but unfortunetley moments later my time had run out. The artwork and design are the real standout features here, I enjoy the Castlevania-esque game design too. Good work!
Nice
Hey , I'm the only one who the play button doesn't work ?
Love the art style and having time as your sole resource is pretty clever, however it wasn't immediately clear that getting hit removed some time, maybe instead of a timer, a life gauge that decreases over time would make it clearer. Soundscape is nice but feels a bit empty. Controls are a bit awkard, mapping "jump" on the "up" arrow or the right click would make it more ergonomic I think
Nice entry! The visual are good looking and sfx works well, I do wish there was a music outside title screen. But I have a few issues with the control, first they should be mentioned somewhere, at least on the download page, because it took me a lot of time to find out that you could go down a platform or how to actually attack. Second, I didn't find a way to attack with the keyboard, so I was stuck in an awkward position, using mouse clic to attack while moving with arrow key and jumping with spacebar. There is also an issue with the contrast between the background and the platforms, it's all too dark and my eyes can't see the difference so for exemple I had a lot of trouble to find the exit when at the top of a room. The fighting is a bit strange as enemies don't step back when you hurt them, also the jump is very slow and floaty, I would also advise you to look at concept like "coyote time" to make it more flexible when you try to jump from an edge. Other than that, it's a cool game, it's great that there is a random arrangement of the rooms and it seems to have a lot of content, Keep up the good work
I like your style, it makes me think of a very cute dark souls. Then the rooms and destructible light sources make me think Castlevania. You can tell there's some influence there and I'm for it.
I think my only criticism is how floaty the character feels. I think part of it is that the character always jumps as high as they possibly can - if it was bound to how long the player held the jump key for it might feel more intuitive.
All in all, it's a solid entry!
I especially enjoyed the art & graphics. Smashing the torch was a nice attention to detail.
Would be nice to have more directional attacks with the floaty guys coming from different angles.
cool 2d art style. The design reminds me of Ghost and Goblin with a hint of Castlevania. Well done
Nice entry. Nothing new to add that other commenters didn't already say. The art mix was great. I was hoping that maybe there'd be a secret ending for (torch destruction) completion but if there was one I couldn't find it. Either way, nice work!
