I had a great time playing, it is a good game!
Wonderful animations, sound effects, and general atmosphere!
Great game, loved the atmosphere!
Really cool little game with more to it than I first thought. Could have done with at least some letters over the speech bubbles to show which one was for the kindling, sticks and logs, but the game wasn't so punishing that you didn't have time to work it out on your own.
The variations in the weather surprised me, but I really liked it once I figured out what was going on. It added a lot more depth than just the usual "go out and fetch wood until you run out of wood near enough to be useful" thing you tend to see in these sorts of games. The different types of fuel and how you couldn't just dump a whole log onto a tiny, struggling fire also added more interest.
The movement had a bit too much momentum, I feel, and there was a little animation glitch on the idle where the feet would slide about on the floor, but overall, the main character, the environment and the concept in general were each really well presented.
Great work! It's a shame this has so few ratings... (Make sure to rate other people's games so you show up higher on the front page, if you haven't been already! )
Really nice design and graphics! I liked the concept!
nice game overall
The atmosphere reminds me of The Long Dark. Having the player character's animation change as they get colder is a nice touch.
After the fire died out I would have liked to get a score or see my survival time.
Nice
There's a lot to appreciate about this game. For some reason I couldn't feed any wood to the fire in my first attempt, however on my second playthrough everthing worked great. Good job, great animation, game design and sound design, really felt like the gripping cold would take my life at any moment.
This is a "cool" (forgive me) game! You really did a lot with the lighting system, and traveling away from the warm fire was a delightfully scary experience when the wind picked up. The snow particles are a really nice effect as well. Good job!
The game is pretty cool , but the controls are weird , It's hard to move for me , anyways good job , graphics are very good !
Great game with fantastic atmosphere, impressed by some little details you made for a game jam, good experience overall! Good luck
Cool game! Fit really well with the theme. I wish there were some more ambient SFX when far away from the fire. And the mouse controls felt a little wonky. But overall good work!
This made me feel the inevitability! Well done.
My only real critique here is if there is the ability to use wasd, then e should also be used for refueling the fire or some such. I found myself panickedly spamming my keyboard trying to figure out how to refuel the fire, before realizing I was silly and I just needed to click.
But yeah, the atmosphere of this is just great. I loved the models, the way the snow flurries around, the ebb and flow. The little shivers. The attention to detail in this is so amazing, especially so given that it's a jam. Very, very well done. =)
Atmosphere is really amazing and the main character animations are wonderful. Definitely an eerie feeling venturing further and further in to the wilderness. I feel a small indicator of where the fire is could've helped as I ran past it a few times, but that could also detract from that isolating feeling you did so well to create.
Good job. I haven't played long enough to figure out how long I can last, the trees around seem to have enough material for a few minutes. I love the meshes, the animation, the atmospheric effects and the sounds. Very well done. The controlls are a bit clumsy, as mentioned above (I ended up with the a similar problem myself ;))
