Awesome job! I enjoy everything about this game, but I had a little trouble with understanding how to acquire resources.
I really like the presentation here, and I feel like you could flesh this out into something more developed. The sprite work is really nice, and the music and sounds for some reason give me the vibe of playing a board game when I was younger. Go figure but, it was good! I did notice a few things I think could stand to be improved - The heart and acorn icon on the map look very similar - It'd be nice if you could view the raccoon's current wants on the map screen somewhere - Ideally, the game should slowly introduce new elements over time, I was a bit overwhelmed when I started and saw 5 counters and like 20 buttons I had to figure out That said, for a jam game, you guys did good! Best of luck with your future projects
Such a simple and fun little game. I would love to see this expanded upon in the future! Keep up the amazing work.
So relaxing
post deadline fix: - fixed a critical bug preventing the next level from loading
Cool game! I like the vibes and the concept. Definitely was a little overwhelmed and confused to begin with, and I struggled to understand exactly what and how much the raccoons would eat each year. But very fun regardless!
Great job! Very chill vibe, the art and mechanics blended well together! Had a really good time playing this, thank you!
Cute game! I was a little confused at first, but once I found my way, it was quite fun :D
Super nice! But it is so easy to over the game.I don't know how much resource the racoons neead for next year, so I don't know how much I should reserve for them. It's kinda annoying. But this is really a amazing work. I can feel the relxing process among animals along with the plants' growth.
Enjoyed this economy game. Really like high variety of items you can put/plant and different interactions. I see that you have feedback that tells you when you can't put something, I'd probably gray out the things you can't affoard so that it's little bit easier to navigate since there are so many resources. Really liked the music and the art.
Nice game and music, I think it's a little too hard for starters. I think spending the initial resources on the wrong items, prevents you from winning later on. At least I lasted for 3 years :D
Thanks for the feedback everyone!
I've incorporated most of it in a new version available on itch.io https://fuzzylobster22.itch.io/cahoots
This version is a lot more polished, and probably shouldn't be considered for scoring in the jam, but check it out if you want to keep playing!
Very good game i like it. Chill music and good graphics. The problem i am having with it is the difficulty. I played it yesterday and returned today trying to get the bear but was unable to do so. No matter how hard i try on day 5-6 the raccoons devour insane amounts of resources. Most likely i do something wrong and there is a specific path you need to take but i did not find it... other than that very interesting game good job. Btw the tip on V1.1 said 8 raccoons and one water symbol i had 8 water but the raccoons did eat way more than 8...
@salvation thanks for coming back! that means a lot
I'm able to get to the Bear by building Rabbit on Year 1, Peach on Year 2, Plum + Deer on Year 3, Beaver + Rabbit&Dandelion combo on Year 4, the Bear + Salmon on Year 5. After that it's not that difficult to get to year 10+, just make sure you spend as much as you can.
I've messed with the difficulty a lot and it's at a point that's comfortable for me... but I've playtested it a lot haha.

The game uses pseudorandom number generation to come up with the amount of lost resources. I think that it's important to put randomness in the game to keep it from getting boring, but I can definitely see how that's confusing and how it's frustrating to save up what should be exactly enough only to lose anyways.
@fuzzy-lobster Ah ok yeah i just suck and did the wrong things :)
I Love this game way too much. After 3 days of trying finally i got going. Capturear 16.JPG Is it bug.JPG
Somehow i got half a leaf :)
Loved the art and sounds. Gameplay is fun too. Good job mate. One feedback: - I can still click to a resource even if I don't have enough to place it. There is a sound feedback and UI feedback on topbar about I cannot place it but it would be nice if I cannot click them if I don't have enough resources.
@salvation Awesome! That's farther than I've made it, and the highest I've seen so far!
Fascinating game, I don't see things like this in LD much, great to see! I thought it might be confusing at first but the mechanics were really quite self-explanatory, and it's really satisfying when you get combos that work together nicely. There's a huge amount of depth here for a jam game, awesome work!
Fun and relaxing game! A bit difficult to see all the symbols as they are quite small. I didn't manage to get too far into the game, might have to give it another try with more time. Very nice!
Amazing entry! It gets really hard as you go on, the raccoons were taking so much stuff :D
The art and music in this game are excellent, great work!
wow shockingly balanced game  i love city builder and racons. i find the ui a bit too hard to read but its workable. a bit of polish id be willing to pay money for this
