LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Decisive Battle by Erkberg 2022-04-08T08:00:43Z

I like this, the atmosphere is super fitting and the gameplay is nice. took me some time to understand how to act in each encounter but I think I figured it out by the end. the graphics also top notch

At Least You're Not Extinct Yet by shizuka 2022-04-05T19:22:04Z

That's a nice take on the theme! Was more fun than I expected, and the sex-size-transparency option adds more depth than expected from the first look. I'd cut the meteor animation a few seconds before the game ends, since I sat there for a bit just waiting for the restart button to appear to retry and reach a higher score! Overall a nice submission, well done!

Chickenator by clemall 2022-04-07T21:07:16Z

I made one badass chicken and I loved every second of it!!! Honestly a great quick game, had fun, I would've added some kind of game over screen because I kept laser-rocket-fathering the house for a while until I figured it's just the end of the game. Had a blast tho!!

Long Live the King by Pennycook 2022-04-10T21:39:14Z

Cool game! Narrative and sound made me dive into it pretty deeply. I think I found a way to keep repeating the same moves until the end of time? I tried to keep looking for cheats, maybe to go around? but I couldn't find anything better than that. I don't know if I missed anything, but anyway the fact that I was so involved with this - means its a good submission!

STONEHOLD by teamscripta 2022-04-05T16:18:38Z

Loved the idea, was quite fun! Found myself walking "above" the door and kinda glitching out of level 2, and had to go back home and walk my way back to level 2 again. Also I'd let the hit face the way I'm facing, and not the way of the mouse, but that's just my cup of tea Sound and art was very nice imo

Virus Bash by joewan 2022-04-09T16:58:43Z

Fun shooter! my high score is embarrassing compared to the rest here so I'll save it. I'd add some high tempo background music to make it feel more intense, but besides that it was pretty fun. good job!

Baking Simulator 2022 by Sarah 2022-04-06T20:20:22Z

Nice baking sim, if only baking in my kitchen was as pleasent as it was here! Took me a bit to figure out what should interact with what, but once I did it went much smoother. cool entry!

Healer, LFG by malero 2022-04-06T17:02:29Z

fun game, it took me a bit to understand how to handle everything but once I did it became quite enjoyable. Once the team ran "off" the screen for me, but they soon came back so it was alright. Adding different skills shows impressive depth to the game, well done

CABBAGE DEFENSE by frozenfire92 2022-04-06T20:10:27Z

Cool game, I liked the touch of the time cycle. Defending my crops against evil always sounds like a good idea! Would've added some kind of edge or obstacle at the sides, I just got "stuck" when I walked to much right and it seemed a bit wired at start. that was only a small part, the rest was enjoyable! nice submission

You will become a vampire. by digitaldude555 2022-04-05T21:15:52Z

Nice submission, also took me a while like said here to get the hang of this, but I did find myself strategising in the end. Couldn't use the elixirs for some reason, good thing I could just heal in the fights from time to time! With more balancing and depth this game could be a complete journey.

Jelly Defense by LDP 2022-04-06T21:28:37Z

I liked the idea of moving the towers. I don't think I were encountered this design choice in towers defence games. I couldn't understand what the tree does aswell, but on the other hand the game sounds good and super pleasant on the eyes. well done

The Short Dark by PhyscoKillerMonkey 2022-04-05T21:09:56Z

Cool submission, I like the art style a bunch. took me a while to understand where to get the food from, but once I managed to find some it was much easier to navigate and move around. More versatility in the enemies could add much more depth to the game, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

PsyDog by theslate 2022-04-06T21:07:01Z

thanks, this helped me decide that I want a dog. would love for him to not bark yellow colors though. made me laugh!

Anya's Valley by nardandas 2022-04-06T19:59:42Z

Big fan of this type of pixel art. I think it adds a nice simplistic touch to games, while creating a nice atmosphere to the game. Also interesting dialogs always add more layers to the game. Super impressive submissions for a jam imo, good work!

Will There Bee Another? by Gabriel Dias Oliveira de Almeida 2022-04-06T20:33:22Z

Fun game with some replay-ability value, had me going for a few times there. Thought I'm prince charming but I guess it wasn't enough! Loved the art too. well done!

Chicken Dinner by Brusi 2022-04-05T18:16:55Z

Fun take on the theme, glad to see some GameIs representation!

First time caught me off guard, good thing I'm no chicken.

The art is well done in my opinion, only thing I'd say is I expected the environment to interact more - I did some ankle breakers around the rocks, until I noticed we can actually go through them.

But overall a fun game and a great submission, well done!

fireme.club by velvetlobster 2022-04-05T16:25:42Z

This whole game is a vibe. Loved it. Took me a bit to understand what's going on, but once I did I was already hooked with the art and music. Cards are well written aswell!

Recycle This! by Raphiell 2022-04-11T15:09:16Z

One of the best entires I've seen if not the best. Honestly, had me hooked all the way till the end, not sure why. I did 407, I guess that's not too bad. Dialog was funny, loved the papers please reference, and it ended just in time. I wasn't sure along the way if I can lose, or just achieve a lower score? I guess that's the only thing I have to say that isn't a compliment. loved it!

Seas to be by halflemonstudios 2022-04-06T18:59:58Z

Loved the atmosphere, I was legit scared at an advanced level where 3 ships were following my steps, turning the same way I turn at the same time. Would add some kind of punishment for shooting, maybe slowing down or losing light, to avoid me just spamming shots. But overall cool entry, liked it!

The 13th Colony by kristinamay 2022-04-05T17:48:49Z

This is a really nice game, I wouldn't assume its for a jam and the fact that it was made with compo rules is even more impressive. I like these type of games, and the randomly generated worlds has a warm place in my heart. That's a great entry, well done!

Tragedy on Tattle Row by Cievers 2022-04-05T17:20:35Z

Sadly couldn't give it a shot, since it didn't load up on my Mac (I'm not sure if the issue is your build or my Mac). I did want to comment that I liked the logo tho, that's attention to details I haven't given any thought to in my game, so props on that!

Panic at the Museum by James Beninger 2022-04-05T17:29:27Z

That's a cool take on the theme! I love this art style. Had to say sometimes I felt kinda odd that it seems I've died without really hitting anything - just too close to it I guess, so I had to play more "defensive". But I liked the idea, and the fire spreading in a pattern that makes sense and advances with time was also a nice touch. Well done!

Farewell by Geryon Games 2022-04-07T20:37:00Z

A super solid submission, feel like there's a bunch to explore here! gameplay is smooth, dialog is fun and it has a great balance between making me want to explore more and making me fear the mom and hide. Loved it!

Tick by ChewieCB 2022-04-05T16:48:03Z

Very fun! I thought I'll get bored but the music and the atmosphere got me hooked up, trying to reach the destination at the last second. Loved the art aswell!

Mr. Final Boss by Oroshibu 2022-04-05T17:26:34Z

That's a good take on the theme! I liked the options for many attacks, and the art is top notch In my opinion. Felt a bit too easy at the beginning, and I kept looking for some basic-no cool down-simple attack, but it was fun nonetheless. Also music had me going there pretty hard not gonna lie

Chrysopoeia by Matt Barnfield 2022-04-06T21:44:34Z

That's a cool idea for a game! I love the atmosphere, the music helps that aswell. Took me a bit to realise how to make stuff work, but once I figured it out, it was super fun to dive into it - I love when a game puts a challenge, and not just hands you everything over. It looks great too, just great entry!

DOWN the DUNGEON by renrok 2022-04-11T14:51:14Z

Love this, everything is top notch here -honestly I don't have much to say besides that. One of the best entries I've encountered hands down

Running Late by 3LSTMsInATrenchcoat 2022-04-06T16:20:34Z

I really like this submission. Art and music were on point, and the dialogs were funny. I also liked that you made a different response for approaching the same man again. well done!

GameJam Tycoon by Dobryn 2022-04-06T10:46:33Z

That's a cool idea for a game. Reminds me of those text-adventure rogue like games on the mobile, that you swipe the conversation left or right, for the yes or no interaction. I think in order to immerse into this world there's a delicate balance of "lore" depth against short text paragraphs that's not easy to tackle in design, but I think you handled it pretty well. Cool meta submissions!

Super Mowser Bros by Guilloteam 2022-04-07T20:57:52Z

This is really well done. Looks very polished, and very approachable. I liked the music and the art style very much! I think this is one of the best ones I've seen on the jam so far. Well done!

Bodge Job by Alexio Games 2022-04-05T19:43:15Z

Fun idea for a game! Practicing math my whole youth was worth it for this moment. Had me really stressed out under those sirens. I'd adjust the seconds given for each activity though, maybe make it add less time if you consequently do the same one? I found the math easier than the rest, so I could just stick to that one. If it would add less time each time I do it, I'd have to resort to the rest. Although it was still fun, nice submission!

Global Eggstermination by owca 2022-04-07T14:11:09Z

Love the models, and the graphics overall actually. I've seen eggs in my life but these were definitely the scariest ones. Fun gameplay, was quite hard for me, yet still enjoyable - so I think that's a plus. good entry!

Wormageddon by MatterLinx 2022-04-08T07:56:39Z

This is an amazing submission honestly. Loved it, looks great and feels great. I also got the bug when the laser hits the shield, but really besides that it was remarkable!

RM: Rescue Man by Angrybeard 2022-04-06T16:09:47Z

angry BEARD, corgi and rock music - you have me before I even started playing. fun game, the last level was quite hard to be honest, took me 3 tries to make it. but it was fun nonetheless! cool submission.

Get your trash off my lawn! by Chairshot Games 2022-04-11T15:13:22Z

Fun game, took me a while to understand how to get the most of those objects, but once I started to realise how they interact with easier it became a bit easier. Although once many appear its super hard to keep them in the air! nice challenge, solid simple game, liked it!

Try to Die of Old Age by Dennis Magnusson 2022-04-06T16:00:41Z

I feel you, it IS super hard to make good arts. But I think that was the most beautiful way of avoiding it that I've ever seen. Loved the game, pretty funny. I'd make the audio stop if someone runs through the dialog, because now the audio just stacks on top of each other. But cool submission, liked it!

Time Bandit by Jason Pitchford 2022-04-06T17:39:15Z

Nice submission, especially for a 2nd jam. I like the art style. I kept looking for a score while in game but I mostly saw the time ticking down, so I wasn't sure what score I have until I died. Also it felt like sometimes hitting the bat reduces the seconds left, sometimes not (when I consequently hit him a few times). But you can add more depth to the game, with more enemies and more "clocks" and make a complete game out of this. well done

the pond by Misfire_dev 2022-04-05T17:44:44Z

This is relaxing in a strange way I didn't expect. And I say that in the best way possible! I do agree it takes some time to understand at the beginning, but I guess its part of the discovery journey of the game. Loved the art style, and the gameplay reminded me of the first level in spore, which I loved. Cheers!

Stop The Watch by Calzone407 2022-04-05T21:20:54Z

Sweet game, loved the duck on his head - I want one too. I'd maybe add another score to the game - amount of clicks, because the time seems a bit random - I might have had 30 robot clicks in a minute and I might have had 10 to deal with, but it was enjoyable nonetheless

Flowers Photos & Pills by KatAsunder 2022-04-06T21:23:22Z

This game has a special atmosphere. Music, art, and the silence around the pictures really set the mood. Good entry!

AquaGone by firescape games 2022-04-05T17:18:29Z

Nothing prepared me for two rich tigers hanging underwater. I loved the art! Would make the pickup automatic, but not much else comes to mind. Was pretty nice!

Arrow's Theorem by Guy Girmonsky 2022-04-05T17:02:52Z

Thanks for all the comments! I didn't expect to get so many so soon.

It seems like I can't respond to each one, so I appreciate the feedback, and my takeaways so far are: 1. Have an animation for losing the level, just as I do have for winning one. 2. Second click to fill up the text box without waiting, and even an option to remove the dialog (or at least not repeat it if restarting the level). 3. Maybe have an easier learning curve, while having the last puzzles harder to solve. 4. Breakdown of the votes, for a better strategic choices.

Sadly, some of those were planned for the jam, but you know how it is - couldn't delay the inevitable deadline ;')

I Sink Not by eeldam 2022-04-07T20:41:33Z

Loved the atmosphere, feels relaxing and fun, while actually making you notice defects on the ship and thinking what's the best way to build and progress. Cool submissions, good job!

Dungeon Crawl by jzucc12 2022-04-07T20:48:48Z

Fun dungeon crawler, with some depth and planning needed to advance. Have to juggle between HP, MP, and damage to try and beat your way in time. I'd add some kind of option to fight quickly, because I found myself spamming the mouse in order to progress in the fights, bacuse I already knew what I plan to click on. But game had me on the edge the whole time, while being not too complicated - and that's a good thing!

Kinderkaos by Gravityflip 2022-04-05T17:34:17Z

This game is one of the funniest ones I've seen. At one point I left a kid dead on the road and one dead near the mushrooms, hoping other children would see them and conclude what they SHOULDN'T do, because I couldn't keep up. Nice take on the theme! Only criticism is that I'd add some kind of speed up button (and if you're worried about the difficulty - maybe make the kids a bit faster) since sometimes I felt like those 3 seconds walking to the kid take a lifetime (they are running towards a bus so.... I'd sprint) Anyway, was fun and the music is also a nice touch!

Life Finds a Way by Mopifish 2022-04-05T17:38:46Z

I loved the take on the theme. and a very good learning curve right here. In most games I find myself trying to understand what's going on, and here I was fed with everything I need (and nothing needlessly long). Also it became quite hard before I could noticed. I'd love have my tools placed on a specific place on the side, maybe done automatically, but I guess its part of the difficulty of the game. Also loved the dialog, not too long, not too short and as a nice touch to it. well done!

Magma Climb by Aldebaram 2022-04-13T10:41:57Z

Fun game, I liked it. I think an option to add is to "slide" and drop near an edge, because I found myself trying to slow walk on an edge to fall right beneath it, and not a bit further into a spike. But regardless it was fun and challenging. Good job!
