Loved the idea, was quite fun! Found myself walking "above" the door and kinda glitching out of level 2, and had to go back home and walk my way back to level 2 again. Also I'd let the hit face the way I'm facing, and not the way of the mouse, but that's just my cup of tea Sound and art was very nice imo
good graphics and sound, but could not play due to broken controls

The art is awesome! The gameplay is fun and I could see this being expanded into a bigger game. The transitions between levels is really jarring though.
@geoblackru how were the controls broken for you? I would love specifics so we can fix them.

Really enjoyed the game play of this. Got me back to those old 8-bit games. Both sound and graphics. Missing some score points or something like that. Anyhow grate work!

Great art! Cool music as well. Awesome multiplayer aspect, although I didn't quite get how to use it to my advantage.

I love the combat - it feels very satisfying and skill based. I think I got to and died on level 9, not sure if there is a way to restore health or if you're just supposed to try to kill the enemies as efficiently as possible. Also not sure if there is any point to visiting other players cells but the idea is cool nontheless. Also I almost didn't figure out you can attack the door to open it and progress and I could get out of level bounds using the dodge roll :)

Game plays pretty well! relatively fun for the variety of enemies that exist. The ultimate was very satisfying to use =). Could use some more variety and cleanup, but great for a LD submission. Good work!
Love the idea and there's so much more you could do with this (when you've got more time). Fun to play!
@teamscripta pressing each button was processed only once, and you can roll over the wall

Before we start, thank you so much for WebGL version!
I liked this one, it was pretty straightforward top down hack and slash. You can attack, roll and use an ultimate spell. Simple, but effective. The dodge roll can easily break the game and send you out of bounds, which gave me rather amusing time. I expected to find a secret or some kind of Easter egg, but to no avail sadly :c
I love that you can visit other people's worlds, it gives a nice community vibe! I managed to clear several rooms. I hope I did someone a good service!
I got to floor 8! Great game!
FYI my name is DJ
Seems like fun, but I cannot play. Movement controls seem to "stick" and once I've pressed "a" I get stuck moving left and cannot undo it. (pressing "d" forces me to move right but "a" overrides it and moves left instead). Any suggestions on a workaround? Playing in Chrome
@mistagiggles Since it's a browser based game, I'm guessing it's something with the browser you're using. Can you tell me, what browser + version, and OS you are using? Also it could be browser extensions affecting the game, can try playing in a new incognito window? Or a different browser?
@mistagiggles Just to make sure we support all browsers, I just tested the game on Chrome & Firefox in Linux and Windows, Edge in Windows, and Safari on Mac. And it plays fine for me in all of them. So my best guess is that it could be a browser extension or an older browser version that is breaking the game. To work around this try playing in a new Incognito window, or Switching to a latest version of a completely different browser, for example: if you're on Chrome, try Firefox or vice versa. Also make sure your browsers are the latest version. Try those things, starting with playing in an Incognito window and let me know if it fixes it.
I also am very interest what browser + version + OS that you are using, because I would love to try to reproduce this. Thanks!
@caramelcode running incognito seems to resolve the problem, thanks.
Really enjoy the combat, though it gets very difficult around floor 8. Great sprites and animations. Had good fun with this one
@mistagiggles Excellent! I'm so glad that fixed the issue for you and you were able to play. Thank you so much for playing! :)
This game came up on @marcmagus's stream so I picked it up and really enjoyed it! The art style is clean and attractive, the music is perfectly menacing, and I'm always impressed to see a networked game come up in a weekend jam. Also glad to see another Phaser entry :D Great work!

Really fun entry and a leaderboard always draws me in. I had an enjoyable time with it, but I soon found that I could kite around the enemies and lump them into a big ball and hit them all at once making pretty much every floor trivial. I did seem to get the game into a bugged state for me though. On Floor 14 I randomly got reset to the beginning. It didn't say I died, the game just reset and my health still stayed at half like it was when I was still on 14. for some reason I can't use the ultimate ability anymore. And closing the game and re-opening does not seem to fix it. I also wasn't exactly sure what purpose playing through other peoples dungeons provided? would I get to the end of theirs? Lastly, the dodge felt like it had a bit of a delay on it so I had to use it a bit preemptively Otherwise great entry!

Love the art and idea of the long corridor of dungeon entrances a lot! The enemies felt very distinct, their attack patterns is memorable, yet, like @rhoka said, maybe a tad too much so. All in all, I enjoyed hacking through the floors though. And the explosion power-up is fun :D
Cool game
Thanks for bringing your game by my stream for feedback! If you’d like to revisit the play and commentary you can view the highlight at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1448957648
Base combat mechanic feels pretty solid. I'm not sure how different you anticipated trips being without a lot more content, since it seems like a pretty linear scaling as-is, but I'd be intrigued to see it and love that you were attempting a procgen + ghosts thing.
Love what this game is doing, really executing on the core slash-and-dodge gameplay in a nice clean way, could see myself spending too much time on this. Art and sound is effective, and impressive to see online features! I saw you could head through another player's path, but I wasn't really sure what that changed, did I miss something?

i faced the problem that the character is moving during the scene change, but game is cool!
The game really grew on me - at first I thought the enemies needed more telegraphed attacks but actually I think they were spot on. The combat system could've done with a bit more juice like some screenshake or some cooldowns between attacks to make it feel better than just spamming LMB. I like the way the theme was worked in too, nice work.
By the way - the jam version in unplayable because you're trying to hit a http endpoint over https so you can't click past the enter your name screen.
@sleepystudios I fixed the https issue, can you try the jam version again?
@caramelcode yup that works now!

Great game, this is one of my favorite entries so far. Combat is fun, monsters are enjoyably challenging, difficulty progression is reasonable. The art and music are great as well, and the leaderboard is a nice touch. There are a few minor details I disliked, not being able to cancel attacks means you can get stuck reflexively attacking then realizing you need to dodge, would be better if the dodge roll took priority imo. Also no quick restart, need to die to end a run. Overall pretty solid, I'd love to see more content for this.

Great entry. Really enjoyed the pixel art and combat. Some good variety in enemies given the time. My only stumble was that it was little confusing what the point of the broken cell door was vs the stairs.
Cool game ! The gameplay is fun, the graphics and the music are nice, and having some online on a jam gam is always a must.
Good job

Really cute game. The visuals especially are very polished, I loved the level and character art and the attack animations. It feels like there's much more going on, but I'm not sure if I understood the multiplayer aspect - everyone playing your game creates a new cell, and you can follow the levels they entered? Are they different from levels you enter from your cell?
your game is very suitable for this topic, I like the design and the mechanics of the game surprised me, great game
Nice fighting game. It reminds me of some old classics.

Nice graphics. I think the controls could be worked on. I think the character should face the direction of the mouse. I often found myself swinging in the wrong direction.

I have a soft spot for top-down hack and slash games like this. Would love to see this expanded upon with all of the other ideas y'all were mentioning!
Disclaimer: I played the JAM version only.
Well polished game. Has attack, special charged up attack and dodge-me-out-of-the-danger-roll. The gameplay is smooth, keeps good pace, graphics and sound is well placed and fits well. Reminded me a bit classic diablo-like games and classic hack-and-slash one.
Was really impressed with the ability to go and try out other players gameplay paths.
Not sure if this is intended behaviour, but once you get really close to the even, you can spam attacks really fast, giving to change for monster to attack. Maybe it's because players moves a bit forward when attacking and that reset
Would like to see in the future: * More monster types with different patterns or multiple patterns; * Maybe a bit of monster scaling; * Attack pattern change, based on life left; * A choice to upgrade the hero every few levels. (If player of other players dungeons, you could still show the choice, but only allow the one the dungeon owner chose)
Also suggestion, to require to try climbing own dungeon at least once, and only then unlock wandering to other players dungeon paths.
